I'm not mad I'm just disappointed because if you spent two seconds to think about how fur and leather alone has deep ties to human culture and our understanding and appreciation of the natural world it's honestly really beautiful and just feels so strange to me that people who say they love nature want to divorce themselves from it.

Like yes, capitalism bad. I don't agree with the way that animals are treated as products to the point where blatant animal cruelty is excused by mega corporations. I want places like that to be held accountable and made to follow higher welfare standards for the animals they raise and the underpaid employees out there working in sometimes awful and very unsafe conditions.

But if you're simultaneously ignoring the culture of African leathermaking or the beautiful leather and wool textiles crafted by Indigenous artisans or the ways that ancient humans appreciated the animals they killed for meat and clothing by telling stories and making art depicted on the skins of the animals they took, that's what bothers me.

So many people are willing to just attack vulnerable communities instead of learning about thier culture and how animal products were used traditionally and today. There are better ways to raise animals for products sustainably and humanely and many of these communities have spoken very loudly about it but are yelled over by people who just want to be right or don't want to listen or just don't care.

So yes, I will continue to speak my mind and educate myself because if nothing else I wanna be the start of the change I wanna see in the world. I love animals and I love learning the history of humans and our relationships to animals. I want to be able to appreciate them in the ways we always have. With respect to the natural world and understanding that we're also a part of it.

So now I’m mad because I thought about how badly STARZ fumbled American Gods because Ibis and Jackal should have had the same amount of hype Aziraphale and Crowley have.

Like Ibis and Jackal were so domestic and they’re basically how fanfics portray Aziraphale and Crowley living together in domestic bliss and running a business. Like they literally remind me of an alternate version of the two. Just less chaotic. They’re old and all they want to do is do their business together with their cat daughter.

That scene in the series with them together was so tender and sweet and Jackal is protective of Ibis in the book, it’s just so ugh.

It was wasted and then Chris Obi left after season one and instead of recasting him STARS basically said fuck the book and said “Nah ima do my own thing”

One day I hope to see American Gods get the adaptation it deserves. STARZ was the worst choice for it.

It's okay to deconfirm/not know/get your kintypes wrong

I feel like in our community across all platforms, but mainly TikTok, there is a stigma around deconfirming, not knowing, and or getting a kin/theriotype wrong. When in reality it's apart of many peoples journey. For me this has happened many times.

While something like my dragonkin type was obvious to me, figuring out my basenji and black backed jackal theiriotype took lots of research and help. At points I've had American kestrel in my bio as one of my theriotypes, but recently I've deconformed that. Wich is OKAY. I've gotten kintypes wrong before, I thought I was wolfkin when really I was qimmiqkin. And I'm STILL questioning werewolfkin, it's alright to not know. In fact it took me quite a while to confirm I was angelkin. None of these things are wrong/mean people are faking.

I've seen people be accused for faking for all of these things when that simply isn't the case. So just a friendly reminder to everyone that it's okay to do all of these things and that not everyone's journey is a clear path :]

The name Mabon comes from the Welsh God, who was the son of the Earth Mother Goddess. However, there is evidence that the name was adopted in the 1970s, and the holiday was not originally a Celtic celebration.

Some believe Night and day are of equal legth and the God's energy & strength are nearly gone . The Goddess begins to mourn the loss she knows is coming, but knows he will return when he reborn at Yule.

CHAPTER TWO - She wakes up with a killer headache and a million questions when she realises two things: 1. the man in her room is not infact Steven Grant and 2. her body no longer belongs to her but to the God of Death.

CHAPTER THREE - With Marc and Steven captured by Harrow's men, Layla has no choice but to work with her ex-husbands mistress to get them and the scarab to safety. But things take a turn when Seth comes to reap his reward.

CHAPTER FOUR - Dove wakes up in Steven’s apartment for the second time covered in blood with only one thing on her mind. What the hell happened last night?

CHAPTER FIVE - Marc and Dove adjust to their new mission: catch Harrow before he can release Ammit and for the love of gods don’t let Seth have the body again.

CHAPTER SIX - Summoning a council with the gods sound easy enough, right? Except the man on trial knows the dark secret she has yet to tell Marc.

CHAPTER SEVEN - Marc, his ex-wife and his supposed mistress head to Mogart’s to find Senfu’s sarcophagus, whatever could go wrong when the god of Chaos wants to be involved?

CHAPTER EIGHT - Dove, Marc and Layla escape Mogart’s with only more dead ends and questions unanswered. They’re running out of time before Harrow reaches the tomb, but one thing keeps sticking in Layla’s head more than the rest. Why does Dove look so guilty?

CHAPTER NINE * - Layla, Steven and Dove set off towards Ammit’s tomb across the dunes, only Steven and Dove have a heavy confession they’ve each been meaning to make.
