tw// police brutality, split juries, violence against POC, Straight up murder. Elijah Jovan McClain.
My family watches the news in the morning, and one of the stories that was playing was the murder of Elijah Jovan McClain, and how the jury was able to convict one officer, but was split on the other one.
And I just. I don’t fucking get it. I really, really, REALLY can’t understand it.

Coming back on here after essentially being mia for 3 years means that I keep getting notifications from people who are my mutuals but obviously they've changed names and whole ass fandoms since then cause I'm like, "who are you people???"

thinness as a marker of health just pisses me off even more now that i live a "healthy" lifestyle and do all the things fatphobes tell you to do (eat a balanced diet with nutritious food, exercise regularly, drink a lot of water) and im still liable to be sneered at by a sedentary thin person whose daily intake is two quesaritos and a green machine juice. i did what you want! i'm not meant to be thin! sorry!

I mean if you keep making all these posts openly berating people for liking art but not reblogging, eventually you'll get more people who will neither like nor reblog art posts for fear of being judged for only liking and not reblogging and no one is better off than where they started :/

when a character says 'I can't live without you' I often think it would be more powerful to say, 'I don't want to live without you'. Life will go on, the world will turn, but a light has gone out of it that cannot be replaced even if new ones are lit. I want to be with you, I'm choosing to be with you, I could live without you but I would be losing something incredibly precious that brings a certain richness that nothing else ever will.
'I can't live without you' sounds kind of coercive to me. I can't live without you I don't have a choice so you don't have a choice unless you want to destroy me, do you want to destroy me? Without each other we have nothing, are nothing.

what do you think is the most underrated moment in lionheart?
I deeply and gratefully appreciate how people react to chapters/plot beats of all sorts, so I don't have any moments that I think of as "underrated" per se.
That being said. In Book 3, Draco has a quip to Ron that goes: "where did you find this Methuselah of rats?" and I don't think there's anyone alive who finds that as funny as I do. I can sincerely make myself laugh out loud just by thinking about that line. It's still my favorite joke in the fic.

"One day when I was a young boy on holiday in Uberwald, I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, I'm sure you will agree, and even as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged onto a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature's wonders, gentlemen: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that's when I first learned about evil. It is built into the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

i am a shipper but i also love the way you draw bakudeku and specifically love that its not very shippy cause way too many shippers forget to or just dont care about depicting them as friends also which i find disappointing cause i think them being friends is the most important part of any potential shippy romance stuff
thank you but also u guys don’t have to nitpick other ppl’s interpretation of manga characters to uplift mine that’s not rlly nice 🏋️🏋️🏋️

i hope this is an ok question to ask but can you help me understand why people are boycotting the screening of suga's movie in israel? it makes sense to want hybe to divest from zionism but i don't understand wanting to prevent everyone who lives in israel from seeing the movie. what about israeli army? i have to imagine there are many many people in israel who strongly oppose what their government is doing. please don't see this as an attack, but i'm just having a hard time understanding the purpose of this movement. i see people on twitter who are denouncing israeli army as a whole just because of where they live. how is that fair? people are not their country's actions.
i don't mind having this conversation if it's actually in good faith, but you sort of answered your own question: the divestment is the point. what does it look like for a company that is actively employing and standing behind zionist employees to profit from and release a film in a zionist state that is actively committing a genocide?
i'm sure palestinian army would love to go see a movie or listen to music or have access to the internet or just go a single day without fearing for their lives or watching loved ones die or get maimed. i'm sure they'd love to have a safe place to shelter. i'm sure they'd love to not be in the middle of a famine and worry about where their next meal is going to come from.
and i'm sure people are gonna yell at me for this bc god forbid this fandom has an opinion, but: some things are bigger than k-pop. you will be ok if you can't see a movie. you will be ok if you can't buy an album. you will be ok if your fav's streaming numbers are low. israeli army still have internet access, they can pirate it. you do not have to give hybe money for anything ever to support bts, and i think it's a little weird that blind, mass consumerism is not only completely acceptable in k-pop, but you are shunned and harassed for not participating in it.
