As a bird demon, I think Gekkouin has a lot more potential that Kagami didn't explore before kind of pushing him to the side(?). When I saw the chapter where Gekkouin was fighting with the other Shinoa Squad's black demons, he only used very generic attacks that seems to be any attacks that demons could use? Which personally feels like a waste, considering Kiseki-o and Asuramaru were able to exercise their own powers during the fight against Yuu.

I think it would've been cool if he made use of more bird-themed abilities, like even something as simple as using his wings to throw Yuu off-balance during the fight would've pose some form of challenge. After all, even the most formidable swordsmen would waver if they loose their footing.

Also, a rlly cool ability i read somewhere, like a peacock's shrill? or peacock cry? An ability that agitates or grabs the opponents' attention, thereby limiting their ability to tunnel vision?? LIKE THATS SUPER COOL and could've made Gekk so much cooler?? I mean, yeah he would still get beat up but at least it goes to show that the black demons aren't exactly weak either??

Like yes, he is a side character and yes, he probably shouldn't be 'invested' in so much. But if a side character doesnt prove any sort of challenge or support to the main character, then he might as well not be there in the first place.

inever played kid icarus but ngl pit and pittoo look like sora and vanitas to me

they're technically made the same way (since vanitas is connected to sora's heart through ventus, sora filling the void vanitas left, thats the reason he gave why they look alike and pittoo was made from the mirror of truth, a tool that supposedly reveals the true nature of things or something (its been a while since ive actually played it so i dont know if thats accurate) and pit breaks it, creating dark pit aka pittoo) and honestly a lot of the vanitas redemption au stuff ive seen from many people kinda has vanitas take the same dynamic that pittoo has!

contrary to his name and seemingly what people who only know him through smash bros think, pittoo isn't actually all that antagonistic! sure, he rivals pit sometimes but he doesn't have like. completely corrupt morals or anything. the game itself is SO interesting with how it discusses morality, faith and serving the gods, devotion, etc, and pittoo is no exception! pit serves palutena, the goddess of light and is devoted to her like a permanent intern (a joke they actually make in one of the chapters i believe), while pittoo supposedly shows an alternative or perhaps inner belief of pit's: that his faith in palutena isn't absolute and a part of him that wants freedom. there's a quote from a part where they team up (something that happens more than once), where pit declares that he's the servant to the goddess of light, and pittoo declares that he's servant to no other than himself!! it's exploring the dichotomy of freedom and subservience, what it means to be devoted to something that you put all your faith in it! and during [BIG BIG SPOILER PART OF THE GAME] pittoo actually calls out the gods on their selfishness!! he's such an interesting character (and as is pit!! he isn't some generic shonen protag who's always smiling and happy and typically stereotyped as stupid, he's genuinely quite smart and snarky and silly!!)

all this to say. YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY PLAY KID ICARUS UPRISING (or watch the cutscenes/a playthrough, the game is on 3ds and the controls aren't for everyone, but it's such a fun experience!! the characters all interact throughout the chapters too which is why i say a playthrough instead of just the cutscenes) ITS SUCH AN UNDERRATED GAME WITH AMAZING MUSIC, GREAT DIALOGUE AND VOICE ACTING, A VERY SURPRISING STORY, ENJOYABLE CHARACTERS (INCLUDING THE ANTAGONISTS THEYRE SO FUCKING FUN), COOL DESGINS, VARIED GAMEPLAY THAT DOESNT GET OLD, there is absolutely a reason why kid icarus fans are calling for a port/remake/sequel 10+ years after uprising released and thats because the game genuinely holds up so well even to this day. kid icarus SWEEP

Tusk 2 Headcannons/Shit I want to see because I'm about to gnaw my foot off.

(This is a bunch of stuff I've been thinking about— As well as some ideas me and my friend came up with. Fair warning this is a bit long.)

Wallace still being one of the main focus es, I really want Tusk 2 to show how he slowly becomes the new Howard Howe.

The movie only having two plots: The new protag and Wallace.

The new protag might be a detective or even a journalist that runs into Wallace and they manage to escape him. The movie could be them trying to find a way to stop him.

Wallace intentionally ripping himself from the suit, this probably has to be at the start of even a flashback. I imagine most of the walrus stuff is gone but I feel like either the tusks stay or they're taken out and he obsessively holds onto them like Howard and the oosik (I want him to keep the tusks they look so badass)

Ally & Teddy still being relative to the plot but they probably don't get a lot of screen time.

Guy Lapointe might be in this movie (depending on the whole Johnny Depp situation) but if he is I want him to be a lot more serious, he may even die in this movie idk.

Wallace has a partner in crime to help him out. Someone that may have been affiliated with Howard and might know medical stuff because Wallace probably knows nothing about keeping someone alive.

There is just a big ass room full of cages with the new monsters in them, kind of like those rooms with the birds.

Wallace has prosthetic legs but they're not fancy or anything. He would also be very clumsy walking around, stumbling, tripping and falling over a lot.

A bit of backstory of how Wallace got away, I imagine after tearing the suit he got removed from it and probably got sent to a mental hospital where he escaped (killing a few people in the process) this may be where the partner in crime comes along.

For some reason I'm imagining the partner in crime being played by Costas Mandylor AND I'M CRYING

Howard being given the Jigsaw treatment and being seen as this... I don't know, symbol?

Wallace just having a huge breakdown halfway through the movie where we can really see the trauma he got from the first. There are things throughout the movie that subtly foreshadow it; such as him smashing mirrors which symbolises his identity issues and how he doesn't really know who he is anymore.

Wallace either using sign language to talk or has some kind of device that talks for him. The ones mute people use.

The partner in crime maybe double crossing Wallace? 👀

Things mirroring the first movie, Wallace stitching someone in the exact same way Howard did it or him sitting on the rock by himself like in the first movie with him and Howard sitting together. The shots are completely identical.

The subject matter is being treated a lot more seriously, if anyone has seen Yoga Hosers you notice that the events of Tusk are talked about so casually. I feel like the authorities would've tried to keep the whole situation under wraps and hiding it from the public.

Tusk 2 being mainly a Horror/Drama, there can be a comedic scene or two but the sequel needs to be more serious for me.

Wallace having sympathy for the new monsters, I imagine he'll try to act cold but he understands their pain at the same time.

A random scene of Wallace just absolutely DEVOURING a giant burger, like Peter B in Into The Spiderverse. Cuz I know damn well he doesn't get fed enough at the zoo.

Wallace being an active menace throughout the entire film.

AUGGHHHHHHH OHHH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! LUCAS 4 SURE. also maybe Gerard and Frank and other Band Dudes, but as for actual fictional characters, PROBABLY LUCAS!

Now, we don't have a clear idea of what Lucas is like post time-skip, if he's still the same gentle cry baby as he was before, in the prologue. But you gotta understand that going on a journey like that has got to change a person. He's def a lot more brave than the fandom, AND FUCKING SMASH BROS BRAWL !!! gives him credit for.

Old fanfics will usually give him t-th-he unre-re-alistic s-s-s-s-stuttering habit, which is sssssoooooooooo hard to read sometimes. I understand stuttering as something someone can have naturally, but in this context, it's something he does because he's nervous or scared or flustered. And he does it almost every time he talks until he finally warms up enough, or he's in a perpetual state of flustered. I'd understand if this was an actual speech thing he had that the author brings up, but no, you can tell that the intention is just to make him look more, ... Im not sure the right word, but more Shoujo shy girl like. Y'know?

Mischaracterization can't really be a thing with Mother protags and other silent protagonist. There can be opinions on characters I can either like or dislike, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that the character is "actually" like that. For Ness and Ninten, no one is really right or wrong... Characterizing them as assholes (COUGH mother 1 novel with Ninten/Ken) or as shy or, well, most of the time people just write Ness as a heroic extrovert and/or complete dumbass which personally is the correct way to me.

But in Mother 3, we get more character from Lucas than we do with any other mother protag, in that he's a gentle boy who likes flowers, and the village sees him as a crybaby, even before Hinawa died. (That one lady Flint talks to during the forest fire, before they knew Hinawa died, called Lucas a crybaby)

But fuck dude, even before the time-skip happened, Lucas came in clutch with the drago to save Salsa and Kuma from Fassad!!! You go, baby Lucas! wth!!!!

Anyway I am fucking SICK!!! I AM FYUCKIMG SICKKK!!!!!!!! Of baby-cant-do-nothin-right-pussy-boy Lucas, characterized in fanart or fanfics. I don't want him to just be a stoic asshole, but I also don't want the crybaby part to be laid on too thick, y'know? Characterize him with thought. He can still be a gentle crybaby, but don't make that his whole thing, who cries at any small thing that happens

As much as I love Brawl, it was the start of this trend. As much as I love subspace emissary, they absolutely did Lucas fucking DIRTY. What are your thoughts on the Trigun reboot?

the big tl;dr is that i'm enjoying it a lot!! there are a couple things that i'm like, not suuuuper thrilled about but overall: it's a yes from me!

(for clarity, i was a huuuuuge fan of the '98 anime and watched it with my mom as a kid! i read trimax later in life and adored that, and now the og anime is like. fine?? but comparatively falls flat for me now as an adult in my 30s. i've rewatched the anime only once as an adult but i've reread trimax uhhhhh three times in the past year alone lolol)

i'm gonna bullet point this bc that's just how my brain works best:

i love the animation! there have been a few instances where it felt off, but overall it's been a feast for my eyeballs

i do think the pacing is a bit fast and i wish they either had longer episodes or more episodes to let it breathe a little! not entirely plot-wise because i actually like the reveals so far we've gotten because it's keeping even long time fans guessing for what's coming, but just for the relationships between the characters

like i would like more casual interactions between the four protags, and more vash & wolfwood getting to know each other before we jumped right to them butting heads so aggressively over morality and killing

but i do love that it also heavily showcases the consequences of vash's actions (or inaction)

because as meryl pointed out during the nebraska fight, he isn't actually doing anyone a kindness, he's just running away from pain

BUT YEAH like!!!! i am enjoying it a lot overall!! i have a few gripes with it but i am so fucking happy to be watching trigun again, and as much as i would adore a 1-to-1 trimax adaption like they did with fma, i am really enjoying it being a retelling because i genuinely don't know what's going to happen!! it's fun!! i'm having fun!!

also there's a really emo thought i had about all trigun adaptions just being different lives for everyone and they're just caught in a loop

i also love the fact that it's screaming that it's a passion project. that people who love the source material are all working on it, with nightow. they're bringing back VAs for both japanese and english versions, fans are animating and voicing it, it's amazing and shows how much love is going into this series, and i'm so glad to be able to experience it again

What do you think about kaze’s VA? I know you mentioned you already had a long convo about this but I’m curious. Personally I like fates va over feh. There’s something kinda stiff about his feh lines to me. You can also ignore this if you want if it’s too redundant

No no, I'm absolutely happy to answer this because this has haunted me ever since FEH launched. You're all good, but be warned you WILL get a spiel about this.

So before I talk about Xander Mobus, we need to talk about the casting issue with FEH. In Fire Emblem Fates, David Stanbra voiced Xander, Kaze, Siegbert, Shura, Sumeragi, and Kilma. But suddenly, when FEH came out, Xander was listed as being played by George Spelvin. A lot of people on Behind the Voice Actors theorized that this was David Stanbra working under a pseudonym. They still insist that to this day, but absolutely nothing has confirmed this. Especially when Siegbert was introduced to FEH and people noticed that Todd Haberkorn was voicing him (Which, Todd, I love you, and I love your Morgan and Joshua. But Stanbra fit like a glove for Siegbert). Additionally, not a single alt for Xander has sounded anything like Stanbra's performance in Fates. And to continue, each one of Stanbra's roles has been recast. Because Stanbra can't be found on any social media, and because SUPPOSEDLY "George Spelvin" isn't an actual actor, we have no confirmation.

And this really sucks because David Stanbra, in each of his roles, did such an amazing job playing all of those characters and differentiating them. Xander was stern and commanding, but dutiful and loyal. Kaze was mild, reassuring, and compassionate. Siegbert was polite and eager. And Shura, dearest beloved Shura, was rough and fiery, but gentle and sweet.

So unless someone is somehow able to track down Stanbra and ask him what happened, we will never know. I believe that whoever is voicing Xander is not Stanbra himself, just due to the vast difference in voice quality.

NOW... We should get onto Xander Mobus.

Xander Mobus plays Kaze, Innes, and Arvis. While I have no reservations about Arvis and Innes (and I think he was actually a good pick for Innes), I have some BIG opinions on his Kaze voice.

Performance... like I said, I think he does ok. I don't feel like he uses a whole lot of crazy emotion with his roles, but Arvis and Innes aren't exactly high energy. And like you said about his role as Kaze, he sounds very stiff, like he's trying to mimic Kaze's formal-ness except he's not pulling it off. Kaze is respectful, yes, but he's also warm and inviting. Mobus makes him sound too distant. But Innes he does great, though I feel like with Arvis he's trying to sound too dramatic, less like a natural fit and more like a teenager trying to sound edgy scary. It's still not a bad performance for Arvis though.

And like I mentioned, he wasn't a good fit for Kaze. I just think his voice isn't as naturally deep as Stanbra's was, so while Kaze in Fates sounds like he's actually Saizo's twin brother, an equally deep voice accompanied not by bite but by embrace, in FEH he sounds like a meek teen younger brother. Once again, Innes was a great pick and Arvis was okay.

Range... I honestly don't know what to say about Mobus's range. In almost everything I've heard him in, he does the same exact generic anime protag voice. And yes, I know he was the new announcer for Smash back when SSB4 came out, but that's a voice ANY guy can do. Hell, there's videos of OneyNG doing that voice perfectly while he's horsing around with his buddies. If you ask me, his best performance and emotion was his role as Jimmy Firecracker in Dragonball Z Abridged. I didn't even know it was him in that series.

Rounding it all up... Xander Mobus is more or less a 7/10. He's a lot like Bryce Papenbrook where there's just too much going on with his performances, and unfortunately trying to fill Stanbra's shoes didn't help.

I tried out the alternate green hair just for the sake of it, but decided against it because I also figured she’s at least part human. Hey anon! I totally appreciate folks chatting with me about this stuff- here's my take, because I do consider this kinda thing super seriously:

- the travelers appear to be semi-ageless world hopping magical fuckery of some kind. (Google says "around 2000 years old," for all the good that does us). We don't have a ton of info on this yet, but it's really the only reference to a life pre-canon that we get.

However! Those who know me will know that this alone wouldn't be enough to make me feel comfortable writing them. For instance, I don't buy the classic "this loli is secretly a 1000 y/o dragon so it's okay that I wanna smash" - so I feel obligated to look into it more.

- the only other reference to age we get for the Traveller is that they're apparently not old enough to drink in Mondstadt. This is SUPER complicated for a lot of reasons. One is that some people have argued that the Traveller tends to appear irritated by this like they're being teased, so some argue that they are of drinking age, but just look young. That's very shaky justification though. The only thing that makes me consider this even a little valid is that Venti is an absolute fetus and no one seems to bat an eye at his alcohol intake.

- The MORE complicated issue is that of cultural context and how much we simply don't know. What is the drinking age in Mondstadt? Their culture and economy is so alcohol dependent that a high drinking age seems unlikely. But that's assuming that the writing, world building and translations in this game were always ironclad- which they patently are not.

And now we get into the weirdest part, which is the enormous cultural gap that Genshin as a whole suffers from. In China, where the game originates, the age of consent is 14 (ew) and the drinking age is 18- meanwhile here in the US of A, we've got an age of consent of 18 (usually) and a drinking age of 21- so already we're dealing with very different developmental stages and a cultural gap that makes me feel icky. But lastly, consider that the US is extremely prudish about references to alcohol compared to most countries, especially East Asian cultures. The video game rating system is a fuck, and I would put money on the idea that the translators were told to specify that NO, NO, OUR YOUNG LOOKING PROTAG DEFINITELY ISN'T DRINKING WE SWEAR- regardless of any original intended indicator of age

So here's what it comes down to for me:

- this game refuses to make actual sense of the traveler's age

- everyone in this game has round baby faces so the visuals really don't help

- translation is a fuck (need I remind us of the charming kea-luc sworn brothers vs. brothers debate)

- the game constantly and actively encourages you to ship its characters, primarily with your Traveller

- I need a reader insert for a fairly involved Kaeya fic

- goddamnit fine I'll just use Lumine unless Mihoyo wants to give me an actual canon age.

- I am gonna write this goddamn character as an adult so there's no question about my personal intent.

Phew, sorry for the rant lol, but I really want to impress on folks that I don't take this sort of thing lightly and I do seriously consider things like this! I'm really, genuinely open to hearing other people's thoughts on this, and other characters. ❤️

We were so close to having a well developed protagonist before Tui snatched it away. Like I was legitimately excited to have Snowfall as a protag while everyone and their mother was bitching about Snowfall being the protag when she was first announced. Like you could see her having a character arc and also I like angsty characters so it was a win in my book. But than that thing came out. Like wtf was tdg??? Like even after my first read through, the book felt off... Like wtf was Snowfall's development??? Like all she had to do was wear a conveniently placed ring and have an acid trip and then boom she's sudden trauma free??? Like she didn't even talk to any of the other protags at all. Like the only reason why she was relevant to the plot was because of the stupid opal ring, not herself as a character. She had five visions and just decided to drop everything that ever made her interesting as a character. And don't get me started with the racist crown, literally wtf was that??? Like that was such an unnecessary and completely-out-of-nowhere plot twist. You don't need a racist crown to justify why your character is xenophobic. Like Snowfall has reasons to why she's xenophobic, you don't have to invent new ones. God forbid you have your characters have character flaws which they actually have to sort out themselves. Also that scene where Snowfall smashed the ranking wall is like cool , but again, like most things in this book, it simply came out of absolutely nowhere. The classist society the icewings have was never talked about much at all in this book besides Snowfall complaining about sorting the name on the wall. Snowfall just a completely different character by the end of the book so it just makes everything feel more jarring.

another surprising thing about this chapter! we get some more solo misaki time after the sex scene instead of just going into a funny final two-three pages. i also hope she does this more often!! it’s a nice wind down :) my boy is doing laundry and talking to his shithead brother on the phone : ) holding back rage..

misaki also monologues for a bit more.. and then ending funny with aikawa acosting akihiko’s dead body lol

And part two! Wherein All Might continues to prove he’s the shounen protag of the OG series we never got to see, while BNHA is the subversive sequel with more social commentary on the society the original series set up.

...no, I will not drop that joke. I am Factually Correct.

[No. 19 - All Might]

Shouto notes that the battle is now three on five, and Izuku adds that Katsuki showed them the mist villain’s weak point. Kirishima is pumped up as he states that the villains are brutal dudes, but with all of them supporting All Might, they can beat them back. 

All Might throws a hand out and tells them no, they need to get out of there. Shouto reminds All Might how things wouldn’t have gone well if he hadn’t stepped in just a moment ago, and Izuku is worrying about All Might bleeding… and almost mentions All Might’s time limit being up before catching himself. 

All Might says Shouto is correct, and thanks him for his actions, but that there’s no need to fear, just sit back and watch him get serious. Shigaraki (with his long-ass fingers, yikes) tells Kurogiri and the nomu to take All Might while he handles the kids himself.

All Might puts up his fists and exhales some smoke while thinking that he barely has a minute left, and that he’s weakening faster than expected, but that he has no choice there. 

(Look, I know it’s canon that All Might didn’t have the previous holders’ quirks, but sometimes. Sometimes you just have to wander, looking back at this early material in retrospect.)

Shigaraki lunges forward, wanting to ‘clear the game’ and go home. All Might has an intense close-up of the left side of his face as his thoughts continue with ‘Why? Because…’ Kirishima helpfully tells the others that Shigaraki is coming at them and to get ready.

Have I mentioned yet how cool the double spreads are in this chapter? Because they really are. I mean, the raw intensity of that zoom in on his eyes. The fear in Shigaraki’s eyes as All Might starts to move, the wind caused by the speed of All Might’s movement blowing Izuku’s hair back, the nomu preparing itself to take the impact. And then the actual impact itself. 

We see Shigaraki leap back from the fight, or possibly from All Might’s intensity? Dunno. But he reminds All Might that the nomu has shock absorption, and that the hero’s seen it in action already. All Might agrees, before going in with an absolute storm of blows that the nomu is seemingly matching. 

All Might’s losing more blood from between his teeth with the strain of pushing himself so much. The wind being created by the force of the blows is enough that Izuku is barely holding his ground and not being tossed away, with Izuku shocked at All Might enacting a head-on assault. Kurogiri is also holding back, forced to stay back. Wanting to stay back? I dunno, either he’s got some form of self-preservation in him, or he’s thinking that at Shigaraki. 

The flurry of back and forth blows continues, while All Might notes that the quirk is ‘absorption,’ NOT ‘negation’ - which means there has to be a limit! And if the nomu really is built to counter him, to withstand everything he’s got, then he’ll just have to go beyond that!

As All Might dodges another blow from the nomu, Izuku happens to notice, with no small amount of shock and awe, that All Might spitting up blood, and that he’s at full power, throwing everything out there! Every hit’s a full-force blow, like with the Detroit Smash he saved Izuku and Katsuki with way back in chapter 1. It’s over 9000 100% of his power!

All Might shouts how a hero is always ready to smash through trouble. While Tsuyu (still holding Aizawa), Shout, and Katsuki are all watching on in awe as well, All Might goes in for his final blow.

Did I mention yet how All Might’s the og shounen protag for this setting, with Izuku the sequel protag? Let me remind you again about that here and now. Because this is Peak Shounen Protag Bullshit™ right here.

...as a totally random aside, I thought for a second that Tsuyu’s tongue was wrapped around Aizawa’s neck in order to keep him steady on her back because of the blowback of the attacks. Then I realized that was just his scarf being in rough shape. But man, was that concerning for a hot second.

And now none of you are allowed to unsee it either. 

The nomu is sent flying out of the dome at high velocity, totally unconscious. Kirishima comments on how it’s straight out of the comics, that All Might just smashed his way past the absorption limit. He’s the ultimate bruiser… and against that power, the regeneration wasn’t able to keep up with the rush of attacks. 

Shouto and Katsuki are both shook, thinking about how this is the top, the world of pro heroes. All Might is still holding himself at the end of the swing he sent the nomu flying with, agreeing that he is slowing down. In his heyday, five of those full power smashes would have been enough,

Man, look at how fucked up he is. And yet he’s still standing and smiling. What a fucking legend. No wonder he’s held the number one spot for like thirty something years.

All Might steps forward as he thinks about how his time is truly up. Despite his worry and the steam coming off of him, he taunts Shigaraki, asking if he’d like to hurry up and finish this. Shigaraki is furious, scratching at his neck as he states that All Might cheated.

Damn, what a chapter. Should have done this all in one go probably, but alas! This was still hella cool, and just goes to show how even the early parts of the manga really did come out well in art design and in plot. What a legend Hori is.

The Most Dangerous Organism

You, along with Ratha and co., get sent to the past at a peculiar moment when a blighted tigrex was laying waste to the land. Too bad your presence makes it worse...

“So, a blast to the past I guess.” You stated while climbing your way through the woods. Kyle, Ratha, Ena, and Tsukino followed behind. The air was thick with black fog and everything appeared on edge.

“The Black Blight must be reeking havoc nearby.” Kyle stated while getting his bow ready.

“High alert.” Tsukino added and everyone nodded. You all continued to trek through the gloomy woods. Suddenly Ratha lifted his head up and growled.

“Ratha?” Ena questioned as the rathalos began to growl and scrap his talons along the ground, fire in his mouth. You were about to tend to your monstie, but a loud roar stopped you in your tracks.

“What was that?” Kyle whispered. Ratha roared as well, then snatched you on his back and flew off towards the noise and the ominous glow.

“Guys!” “Where are you going?!” Were the shouts from your friends as they grew quieter the farther away Ratha flew. 

The ominous glow grew brighter as you steadied yourself on Ratha, who continued to push through the trees. Soon you broke cover, and you widened your eyes at what you saw.

Before you was kinship ore, blackened and infected.

Ratha landed before it, and you slid off his back. Walking towards the stone, you reached your hand out. However, a low growl stopped you, followed by footsteps and the clanging of metal. Ratha roared and you slowly turned to see a tigrex before you.

However, it was not ordinary.

It was blighted, covered in armor like you heard in the stories, but it also had an ominous pink glow to it. The beast was glowing in the light and fuming with the black smog.

“It’s blighted, mechanized,...and rage-rayed?!” You said in absolute terror. A rage-rayed monster you could handle, but you’ve never fought a blighted monster. Now you have to deal with the whole shebang.

“Let’s ride Ratha.” You said with a determined look. Ratha huffed as you leapt on his back. The tigrex roared in either anger or agony or both. Then the fight ensued. Ratha shot a couple blasts and the tigrex hardly flinched.

“I guess being infected two different ways made it stronger.” You whispered to yourself. The tigrex rushed at you guys and Ratha took to the air and fired at it. The monster countered it by smashing the ground and having some debris take the hit. Soon, it managed to knock you both down.

For a second, you thought it was over. But then...

“Go Ratha!” A new voice descended into the fight. You looked up to see another rathalos rider shoot at the tigrex. The tigrex, being unprepared, was knocked back. The rider landed before you, and you blinked a couple times.

This was surely the rider who stopped the Black Blight.

“Need some help?” They asked with a smirk. All you could do was simply nod, and the two of you took on the tigrex. With double the fire power, the two of you were able to subdue the monster. You watched in awe as the legendary rider purified the kinship ore.

“That was amazing.” You told them as the surrounding area became bright once more. They looked embarrassed and rubbed the back of their neck.

“It was nothing, but more to the point...what are you doing out here?” They asked as their rathalos stood beside them with a prominent scar on his face. Ratha came up beside you as you laughed nervously, explaining how you got separated from your friends and Ratha brought you here (but not the whole time travel thing).

“So, it was an accident?” The rider tried to clarify.

“Oh it was an accident. Believe you.” You responded with a tired voice as Ratha shook his head.

Who are your favorite smash bros characters?

Excluding Sora (still hard to believe I can actually say that now), there's a top few for me.

Ike, the best merc boy. Honestly, I was rather boggled when they added him in (not because he was the most popular FE protag, and might still be?), but because he was a surprisingly heavy fighter, which I can't say for his games. And his dialogue choice is a little weird. But I love his games (mostly Path of Radiance), so I still love him, my fav resting-bitch-face protag.

Banjo & Kazooie!!! B&K was my childhood that I grew up with, playing them over and over again. These two were my top pick for Smash honestly, the only wish I had for the series that was granted. They're an absolute delight to play too.

The big man Bowser. He was my main for most of the series inceptions; the heavyweight shell king is kind of hard to let go of. His style is exceptionally easy to fall back into. No matter how much time passes, I never forget how to play him.

Samus, interchangeably with Zero Suit Samus, because I use these forms roughly the same amount. Every now and then, I'll play like...Metroid Prime or something and be like...I wanna beat people up as Samus again.

And Snake, for being really left field and having a rather different moveset. Honestly, I fell in love with the idea of a guy like him coming from such a starkly different background, beating up fluffy animals and inhumans. Snake is also one of the characters from which you can also get a reaction to all this.

Dude troll hunters is absolutely phenomenal, and your definitely rights about Jim being like Tommy. and adding to your post about watching Troll hunters, if you like that show you should definitely check out 3Below and Wizards, they both deal with very different themes but are handled really well(they also take place in the same universe) also the protag of Wizards reminded me a bit of c!Ranboo? Maybe it’s just the vibes? But yeah that franchise is so comforting to me in that emotionally devastating way. (unbecoming I’m looking at you)

Oh no! The protagonist is drunk from accidentally drinking alcohol! (They thought it was juice) What are your headcanons for how they act inebriated.

These are pretty damn self indulgent and are my own personal hcs for my protags but I do hope they suffice!  (Also mandatory parental warning to drink responsibly kiddos and chug water like your life depends on it)

------  Protag 1 gets drunk very easily - the type that after a couple of swigs is already kind of buzzing and it’s plain to just about everybody that what he ended up drinking definitely wasn’t juice. A very giggly drunk, anything from sneezing to puns is enough to have him wheezing - seriously Protag 2 toppled back of her chair once and he cracked up bad enough that he choked on the air and fell right back down beside her. His emotions normally get the better of him and this is only cranked up by 10 so when he’s happy he is really happy, joking about with his siblings and practically lounging across the tables to hug people (Much to Toji’s chagrin as he’s typically the first target the guy goes for). But if someone tries to start something he’s the first person to try and square up especially if they’re looking for trouble with his family! This ends swiftly with the others stepping in and promptly hoisting him up and away from the line of fire, but the whole time he’ll still be throwing shade until someone else comes along to pick his mood back up, then he acts like the whole thing never even happened.

Protag 2 is the chill drunk. At first it’s easier to think that she can hold her liquor rather than suspect that she’s just really, really good at hiding the fact she’s absolutely smashed, but when you hang around her enough you can tell when something’s up. She gets very talkative with people that pass by the table, and she’s charismatic enough that pretty much every chair in the house gravitates towards the table's direction as she recalls some of her favorite stories - the thing is you never know if those stories are true, they’re just outlandish enough to make you skeptic but convincing enough a nagging part of you wonders if they really are true, for better or for worse. She winds down fast however, once the energy gets overwhelming she’s quick to switch back to chill mode and likes to spend some time on her own till she’s up to joining back in on the conversation, though she spends the whole time stuck close to Protag 5 while she recovers her social meter.

Protag 3 is the affectionate drunk. He’s already naturally warm and open to people but this is seriously cranked up when he’s got some alcohol in his system. He’s very susceptible to others emotions so if he even glimpses someone who’s not having as much fun as everybody else he’ll latch onto them for the whole night, refusing to budge until he’s able to at least get a smile out of them. He disappears halfway through the night to go to the bathroom and no one has any idea where he’s gone until he comes back half an hour later, arm in arm with several people he’s now officially adopted as new friends. Anyone with a maternal bone in their body flocks to him while he’s like this, with an inexplicable urge to protect him but he’s completely oblivious to this fact, just happy with the fact that he’s surrounded by new friends. Though he gets emotional when they all have to go their separate ways, constantly trying to hold everyone’s hand just one last time before his siblings finally convince him to head home after extensively convincing him that he’ll have plenty of time to see them after he’s sober.

Protag 4 actually gets a headache if he drinks too much so he realizes he’s drunk when he starts feeling pangs faintly throbbing against his temple. If he cuts it off there he’ll be pretty fine for the rest of the night, but if he downs the whole thing then he’ll spend the whole night with his head buried in his arms, booting anyone under the table if they’re too loud for his poor ears(looking at you Kengo). He’s rather relaxed without the headaches though - he’s in significantly higher spirits and often hangs around with Protag 2 to chime in on her stories, swearing in as a witness for some of the more bizarre stories when he sees that people start doubting her. However sometimes he’ll go right into a silent contemplation and blurts out something philosophical, often about something he shouldn’t rightfully know. At one point he even went on a tangent about the undisclosed mysteries of the ocean and some pretty damn deep thoughts about what exists outside of Tokyo - after a while he goes right back to normal, but god help if he finds someone to talk about this with because he will quite literally ramble the ear off of whoever shows a significant interest in what he’s saying. Remembers absolutely nothing about said philosophical thoughts the next morning.

Protag 5 is the hardest to tell that he’s drunk - he’s got his glass cupped in both hands and staring at the wall with a really focused gaze as if trying to figure something out that no one else is aware of. It’s actually pretty intimidating if anyone catches his eye while he’s like this, assuming that he’s glaring at them. But then Protag 3 prods him to ask if he’s okay and the guy just about melts into his chair, mournfully sniffing that he left his jacket back in the dorm so he won’t be able to help if one of them gets cold as though it’s the worst mistake he could have ever made. He’s still rather quiet but talks significantly more when compared to the normally silent persona he presents around anyone who isn’t the Summoners/his siblings and he’s a lot more comfortable expressing affection with his friends. During different times throughout the night you’ll find him with his head resting against someone’s shoulder, eyes closed and listening in on the conversation being passed back and forth across the table with the occasional content hum to let people know that he hadn’t just fallen asleep. By the time it’s time to head back he’s very insistent on making sure everyone’s back in their rooms and safe in bed before he’ll go sleep off the drink himself, and will absolutely be firm on this even as Shiro and Toji both try to convince him that they’ll be fine getting back on their own until they eventually cave.

Yeah absolutely I love doing headcanons! And I’ll happily do both.

Haru: 

Sexuality Headcanon: Bisexual or Lesbian.

Gender Headcanon: Cis.

A ship I have with said character: Oh I like most Haru ships but Okujima (Makoto/Haru) is definitely my favorite. I love the dynamic these two have as the senpai of the group and are kinda by default the most responsible in the group (then again that is questionable). Also I adore their showtime attack in Royal (wrestler girlfriends!).

A BROTP I have with said character: I really like the idea of  Ann/Haru! Haru is very elegant and Ann adores fashion so I feel like the two would really bond over that. Like Ann probably gives her make-up and hair tips and Haru takes her shopping to all the high end fashion places and helps her get modelling contracts.  

A NOTP I have with said character: Goro/Haru. I just don’t like the dynamic. Plus Goro is mega gay.

A random headcanon: She loves heavy metal and rock music in general. It’s her way of venting about the frustrations she has with her dad and the company (and fuckface whatever the hell her fiance’s name is).

General Opinion over said character: OK I know I’ve said this about like half the characters I’ve been asked about but I genuinely don’t talk about how much I adore her. Haru is so underrated when it comes to the Phantom Thieves. I know we all love making memes about Haru and her lack of screen-time but they are 100% justified!!! Persona 5′s writing treated her horribly, Morgana basically high jacked her arc and she was just kinda shoved to the side? And not to mention she wasn’t really given much time to grieve for her dad. Her dad was obviously an asshole and she has every reason to hate him but I still wish they had at least handled her grieveing better. She’s actually my third favorite Phantom Thief (behind Ann and Yusuke) and she’s an Empress girl which as we all know I’m a huge sucker for. And her fluffy hair is everything.

Makoto (I’m gonna assume you mean Persona 5 Makoto as opposed to Persona 3 Male Protag):

Sexuality Headcanon: Like Haru I see her as bisexual or lesbian. 

Gender Headcanon: Cis but I could get behind a non-binary!Makoto.

A ship I have with said character: OK so I spoke about Okujima in Haru’s bit so I’ll go with Makoann! I love the biker chick/model lesbian dynamic those two have going on. 

A BROTP I have with said character: I think she’d get on very well with Hifumi actually. They both have very strategic minds and I feel like Hifumi could teach her shogi and Makoto could teach her aikido.  

A NOTP I have with said character: I know I am going to get shot for this, but Shumako is the blandest thing in the history of persona ships. I’m sorry it’s just so eh. That’s the only way I can describe it.

A random headcanon: I remember in Makoto’s social link she says something about never going to the arcade or something but I feel like she’s really into fighting games. Like she plays Smash Bros and Street Fighter and stuff like that and she’s really good at them too. Not that she’d tell the others that.

General Opinion over said character: OK I have very mixed feelings about her. I will make one thing clear though: I don’t completely hate her. She is my least favorite of the Thieves but I don’t hate her as a character. I hate her writing though just because of how forced and inconsistent it is. Like one minute she’s this super strong badass kicking the crap out of bad guys and then the next she’s like this typical cute girl clinging to your leg cause uwu waifu time. And actually something else that really pisses me off is the way she’s compared to Mitsuru. Like yeah I get it they’re both student council presidents but in a way Makoto is kind of the opposite to Mitsuru. Student council presidents in general have a lot of power in anime (for some reason) but Makoto is shown to be the complete opposite to that in a way. The majority of the student body hate her (because of the whole Kamoshida thing) and they expect her to take down the mafia which she legitimately cannot do. Also while I do agree that there are aspects of their characters as similar, I just think that they are actually quite different (I dunno maybe it’s just me being petty or some shit about people comparing my favorite to one of my least favorite characters). All that being said I do like how she is caring and I adore her persona. Johanna is so cool and her awakening scene was very badass as well.
