❝ don't worry, I'll be here when you're awake. ❞

Even with his comforting words, Zoe couldn’t quite settle just yet. What kind of person invites their semi-not-quite-ex boyfriend to come over after persistently demanding space? Especially so late at night…but she didn’t know who else to call at the time. The only person she could think of was Eric. He plagued all of her thoughts, every morning, noon, and night. “I’m sorry…” she murmured, her fingers fiddling with the duvet, her eyes fixated on the broken clock ticking out of time on the wall. A loaded statement coming from her. After realising she never quite finished her train of thought with her apology, she cleared her throat awkwardly, a sigh escaping her lips. “Sorry for…” The words caught in her throat, like something was fighting her, weighing her tongue down heavily to stop herself from blurting out her pathetic apologies: Sorry for hurting you. Sorry for being the way I am. Sorry for ruining us. Sorry for all…this. Sorry for it all. Sorry for everything. “Sorry for getting you out of bed at this time for something that was nothing after all that messing around.”

It was embarrassing, really. It had been at least two days since she’d managed to get any sleep and it was starting to make her irate (more than she already was) and paranoid. She could chalk it up to several different things but there were several times where she thought she was being followed… and when she came home from a late shift to find the door unlocked, it shook her up. Normally, she was ready for a fight, always ready to defend herself (something she could thank her ever shitty ass parents and the people they dragged in and out of her life for before she finally found her escape) at any cost but this had completely caught her off guard. After searching her place top to bottom, including every hidden nook and cranny, all of her hiding spaces and the hiding spaces within those hiding spaces to make sure nothing was removed, she sat there trying to devise her next moves listening to every single sound in the vast quietness and darkness of her home. Her place wasn’t very big, just small enough for the basics, really. It was only her after all. Since being back, it felt way too big. It was eerily silent, and the Eric shaped gap in her life forced by her made it only worse. It felt so very wrong after being accustomed to his place, after she moved in so they could stay together and ensure each other’s safety with the danger stemming from what was going on with Eric’s family. In the dead of the night, that was when it dawned on her - why this could be happening. A distraction, perhaps? If either one of them were in danger… being separated from him… the rush of panicked realisation was what had her scrambling for her phone, his number on speed dial. As soon as he answered, a sigh of relief escaped her and normally able to sound detached in her tone, she couldn’t conceal the concern. Quickly uttering things like ‘I just needed to check…are you okay?’ and ‘Me? Yeah, I’m fine… actually. No. Things really aren’t right around here. Can you come over? It’s okay if you can’t. I don’t even know what I was thi-you can? Okay then. See you soon. Thank you. I lo-See you soon.’ Why she felt the need to invite him over was another question entirely. She spoke to him…He was okay. And yet still something persuaded her to ask him over. A fresh pair of eyes, that’s what she convinced herself of in the end. Someone who wasn’t her…Problem was, there weren’t a lot of people she trusted. As for Eric, he was at the top of the list of those she did. Not that it was a very long list… then again, the list may have begun and ended with him. Even with their relationship tangled in knots, there was nobody she trusted more than she did with him; they couldn’t even come close. As expected, he arrived within minutes, he was here and Zoe tried her best to give him the rundown. The worry engraved into his features tugged at her heartstrings and instantly she wished she hadn’t bothered him. The words she once told him in desperation and anguish bitterly reminded her of the word she’d once inflicted: I’m not a damsel and I’m not in distress. Tonight was proof that those words couldn’t be further from the truth.

It was a relief to see him, to see him up close and real. Not just the familiar voice over the phone, or a text message here and there. It felt like an eternity had passed since she last saw him and seeing Eric again stirred up all of the emotions she tried so hard to burrow down deep inside her. He didn’t look like he’d been sleeping much either. Like he was feeling just as rough as she had. His hair a bit out of place, the shirt he was wearing slightly rumpled up from what she assumed he’d been sleeping - or trying to - sleep in. And yet he was still the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen.

It was like he’d literally jumped right out of bed to see her, which both warmed and broke her heart at the same time. How willing he still was even after everything she put him through. In the dead of night, they had a second look around to make sure nothing was out of place or that nobody happened to be lurking around. They searched every room from top to bottom, two pairs of eyes on everything this time. When they were both satisfied that all was well, and that maybe Zoe was running on fumes due to overexhaustion and that maybe - though Eric never explicitly stated it - she was well and truly paranoid. Which led to this moment, Zoe sitting up, her body under thick blankets with him perched at the edge of her bed, close enough she could reach out and touch him but it wouldn’t be enough. “I just feel like an idiot,” she muttered under her breath, “Getting you out of bed in the dead of night for nothing but to prove that I’ve finally lost it and...” Finally, she looked at him, rushing her words out a little before he had the chance to reply. Judging by the look in his eyes, he disagreed with her, about being an idiot at least. She shook her head in silent protest, a sigh combined with a yawn escaping her lips. Funny, how despite everything, they could still have a conversation without words.

That was the problem though, wasn’t it? When words weren’t involved, they could communicate perfectly. It was just words that were difficult. But not even that… the problem was Zoe’s inability to handle problems like a normal person. Her problem was not being forthright and as open as Eric had been with her. And immediately jumping to the defense over the smallest thing, which inevitably landed them in their current predicament. Which was why she was trying to sleep - and failing - in her own damn bed and not his/formerly theirs anymore. At a loss of anymore words, she couldn’t tear her gaze away from him, like he might evaporate into thin air the second she averted her eyes. Even though he literally just promised her he would stay until she was awake. He deserved so much better. Those wretched thoughts of self hatred racked her brain once more, begging to swallow her whole. It was like trying to walk through the fog but never reaching the clear. But Eric was like the light that would lead the way, guide her to him.

“You should sleep with me.” The words were out before Zoe had a chance to word them in a better way. What she said never even clicked until she saw his face contort with confusion, mouth opening and closing a few times like he was scrambling for something to say because he hadn’t expected it either. “Oh. I didn’t mean…” She could blame the exhaustion seeping in. She hadn’t slept in days. That was a perfectly acceptable excuse, right? “I meant…you said you’d stay until I woke up and I know that shitty couch is uncomfortable as fuck from my own experience. You’ll get a bad back, so…” She paused, clearing her throat as her memory brought her back to their last moment as a them, involving a couch - his - and how less comfy hers was compared to that one. Being snuggled up in his arms, his hands on her skin, both love and despair brought on by her own wrongdoing and misunderstanding. The last time she felt whole. Back to reality. “So, um. You’re not sleeping there. I know we’re not…but you can sleep here. Much comfier. Just…take off your shoes.” A slight hint of a smile pulled at the corner of her lips as she shuffled over, pulling the duvet down for him and patting it in an attempt to beckon him.

It was then, and only then, Zoe felt like she could finally settle down. The calmness his presence brought to her, the sound of his breathing put her at ease and quietened all the noise in her head. She faced him as he settled down beside her, watched how he had no problem getting comfy, but it was like he was somewhat trying to keep a distance. She couldn’t blame him for that, she ended it after all. But instinctively, she urged slightly closer. It was selfish, really, but she couldn’t help herself. Sighing softly, she let her eyes close as she sank down into her pillows, into well needed rest. “Thank you, for being here, for coming here,” she murmured like a hushed secret, like the darkness would hold her secrets close to her chest. “And for what it’s worth, I really have missed you,” she trailed off as sleep called out to her, unsure why the words slipped out but it was the truth. If she’d been less exhausted and more lucid, she probably could’ve stopped herself. It was selfish, it was unfair of her to say this to Eric after all she’d put him through. But it was the last thing she’d uttered before she fell asleep, and by the time she woke up, she probably wouldn’t remember.

A/N: hi angels! i wrote this in two days and its probably rushed, so i apologize, but i wanted to post something while i work on some other stuff. as always, feedback is appreciated and i hope everyone is having a good day! ily all!

You traced the edge of your cup, staring at the red lipstick stain that was on the cup.

You didn’t regret coming, you just wish you friend didn’t leave you stranded in the middle of a party. You were familiar with everyone here, but not enough to go up and start a conversation.

You picked up your cup, taking a small sip. You brushed off the burning in your throat, licking your red lips. “Did your date leave you?” A voice startled you from behind. “Jesus.” You turn around, laughing. It was someone from your old highschool.

“Date? Oh no, I came with them.” You point at your best friend, who was taking a row of shots with her girlfriend behind her. “Yeahhhh, I'm assuming your DD?” The reach behind you, pouring themselves a shot. “Eh.” You shrug. You watch them as they drink the shot with ease.

“How’d you do that?” Your eyebrows furrowed, mouth slightly open. “You get used to it.” Hange shrugs, laughing it off. You roll your eyes, shaking your head. “It’s loud as hell in here. Wanna go upstairs?” Hange nodded their head towards the stairs. “Yeah.” You nod.

They push open the bathroom door, flipping on the lights. “Surprised it's clean, they usually trash this place.” Hange sat on the edge of the bathtub, taking your drink from your hand. They closed their eyes, holding back a laugh.

“What?” You lean on the counter, raising your brows. “This is 95% punch. There’s like…no alcohol in this.” They hand it back. “Okay first of all, you’re not funny. Second of all, I'm not a crazy alcoholic like you.” You drink a bit, setting it down. “I could definitely make you some better shit than that.” They nod towards your cup.

“Sure.” You nod. “I remember you used to throw the best parties in high school.” Hange smiled. “That was all her, not me. I just bought the stuff.” You shook your head. “Oh, yeah? And you’d be in the middle of the circle, always dancing on someone. Drunk as hell, too.”

You didn’t even really notice Hange. You knew they were played the drums and were top of the class, especially in chemistry, but that’s all you knew. Hange on the other hand, they knew everything about you. They knew you loved getting shitfaced, loved cherry flavored rolling paper, preferred vodka over pink whitney, and hung out with Connie and his crew.

“I was not.” You covered your face in embarrassment. “After prom, at Sasha’s house, you danced with a whole bottle while making out with Sasha and then threw up in her yard not even an hour later, so yeah, you were pretty drunk all the time.”

“Okay, what about you?” You crossed your arms. “You were all nerdy, always getting everything right in class.” You faced them, pushing your hair behind your ear. “That doesn’t mean I deprived myself of having fun. I was smart and partied all at once.” They stood up, leaning on the wall next to you.

“That still makes you nerdy.” You smiled, holding back a laugh. “Well, you always came to school late, all pretty and shit. You always had your lips all shiny and the cutest outfits. You were never in dress code.” Hange approached you. The room became a whole lot smaller. “Are you implying you liked me, Zoe?” You tilted your head, pushing yourself off the counter. Their hands landed on your waist, bringing you to them.

“Did I say that?” They leaned in, lips brushing over yours. Their nails dug into the skin of your thighs. “N-no. But you’re acting like that.” You looked up at Hange. “Acting like what, mama?” They grabbed your chin, making you look up at them.

“Like you wanted me.” You place your hands on their upper arms. “Who said I didn't?” They push their lips onto yours. You were lifted up from the floor onto the counter. You opened your legs a bit, hands running inside their shirt.

“Fuck.” They push their forehead against yours, hands working on the back of your dress. While you slip off your dress, they take their shirt off. You lick your smudged lips, eyes lowering down to Hange’s happy trail. You felt yourself becoming more wet by the second.

Hange pressed their lips to your bare collarbone, sucking and tracing random shapes. Your voice gets caught in your throat. “Come here.” They slide you off of the counter. “I need you.” You whisper. “I know, baby.” They push your back up against themselves.

You were now staring at yourself in the mirror. Hange stood behind you, head in between the crook of your neck and shoulder, pressing wet kisses along your body. Your dress slowly slid off the rest of your body, leaving you in your black, lacy panties. They grabbed your thigh, placing it up on the counter.

You made eye contact with Hange through the mirror. “Someone’s impatient.” She mumbled against your shoulder as she saw the desperation in your eyes. They slid their hand in your panties, fingers hovering over your dripping clit. “Please.” You watch their veiny hands rub your lower stomach.

“You have to be quiet.” Hange placed a cold finger on your aching bud. Your eyes rolled back, a quiet whimper sounding at the back of your throat. “Shhh.” They whispered in your ear, forming small circles. One of your hands sat on top of their working hand, the other held a fistful of their hair, whispering their name while your face scrunched up in pleasure.

“I haven’t even touched you yet and you’re already so whiny, baby.” They press a kiss on your shoulder blade. Hange inserted a finger inside you. You gripped their wrist, your legs twitching, aching to close.

“Keep them open, baby.” They whisper, adding their ring finger. Your back arched as they pumped in and out of you, sucking and nibbling on your sensitive neck. “Fuck.” You choked out, leaning your head back into their shoulder.

Hange pushed you over. Their hand went from your lower stomach, to a fist full of your hair. Your skin crawled as the cold counter came into contact with you. “Look at me while i fuck you.” Hange pulled your head back. Your lipstick was smeared and your neck was covered in hickies.

Hange’s waist pushed you up against the marble even more. Her fingers slipped from inside of you, into her mouth. You watched as they stuck them into her mouth, licking them clean. “So pretty.” Her wet fingers traced your back tattoo.

Your whimper, jutting your hips out to let her know that you wanted more. You felt a sharp pull at your head. “Patience.” She tsked. Her fingers slipped in your again, this time from the back, without a warning.

“Hange,” You mewl loudly. “Hush.” She watched as your legs closed themselves. She slipped her knee in between, shaking her head. She lowered her lips near your ear, grunting. Her fingers sped up, a quiet squelch made Hange whisper your name, praising you for how beautiful you were.

A knock startled you. Your eyes shot open, making your neck snap towards the door. “Hey, you in there?” Your best friend called your name, jiggling the doorknob. “Hange.” You whisper, freaking out. Hange continued to pump her fingers in and out of you, disregarding the fact that your friend was right outside the door and you were clenching around Hange.

“You ok?” She called out again. “Please.” You beg, closing your eyes. Your teeth sunk into your bottom lip, your legs shaking. “Answer.” She nibbled at your earlobe, now facing up at the ceiling.

“I-i’m in here.” You manage to choke out. Suddenly, Hange started to toy with your sensitive clit. Your polished nails dig into your arm. “What’re you doing in there?” She asked, her words slurred a bit together. “Uh,” You racked your brain for something, but it was hard when Hange was fucking you dumb from the back and you were close.

“Fuck.” You moan into your arm, before Hange yanked your hair to face the mirror again. “Tell her.” Hange mouthed. “I felt sick- shit.” Your legs gave out. Hange held you by your waist, watching as you rode her fingers, head against the mirror.

“Want me to come in?” She jiggled the doorknob. “N-no! It’s ok, i‘ll be out in a- fuck…” You felt your cum run down your thighs. “minute.” You finished your sentence. “Good girl.” Hange kneeled down. “Okay, well i’ll be downstairs. Find me when you feel better.” You heard her footsteps fade.

Kyle and the gang were playing in a neighboring town against a neighboring frat as well, and you were entirely determined not to miss him, but it was kind of impossible at this point because your boyfriend was pretty much the only person from the frat you talked to and had a sincere friendship.

Come on, the other guys weren't all that nice, and the girls even less - they were always making plans to flirt with Kyle at one of the parties you almost always threw -…

The days went by, the games went by, and with the lack of news from Kyle, you were starting to go crazy. It was hard to concentrate on classes, eat alone in the cafeteria, and especially not have him in bed at night.

It was unbearable to live with it until you found a solution: his lost shirt in the middle of the wardrobe (from the wardrobe mess, rather…)

As soon as Kyle returned, he was greeted with cheers and cheers for the team's performance, and you were left there in the corner, waiting for some alone time. It didn't, of course, because the boys went straight to celebrate at a nearby diner and would probably stay up all night drinking and laughing to themselves at their inside jokes. You went because it was customary for them to bring their significant others, and Kyle looked so airy and happy that he didn't even notice you were wearing his shirt.

Okay, that made you sad, but it wasn't his fault anyway…

You got back to his room, having had a few drinks, and you threw yourself on the bed, ready to pull his jock shirt off, when Kyle turned around, after his shower, smiling.

"Is that my shirt?" he asked, stretching a smile into something sly and teasing.

"Didn't you notice until now?" you asked, frowning.

Kyle shrugged. "I noticed, but I didn't want to say anything in front of crew, you know... I'd rather see your flushed face when we're alone, (Y\N)..."

You blushed instantly, taken aback by his teasing. Kyle wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close, kissing you hard on the lips with the same smile.

"You look sexy...", he whispered in your ear, laughing. "That I couldn't say in front of the boys as well, so I thought I'd wait."

And you blushed once more as he pushed you onto the bed, practically ending the night with make-out and sex until the sun was almost up. Because Kyle was like that, whenever he got the chance, he would tease you and make you blush to take advantage of it...

Nekomamushi Smut Anon here. Those are excellent HCs you have there 👀 Yours and toujouhidetora's both. would be a shame if they were used for something... (cant guarantee how long it might take though…!) I was thinking about it more today and I like to HC that Nekomamushi is like a reverse monsterfucker where he thinks it's really hot that you prefer him. Most of his partners have been smaller but you're the first human. There's maybe a mild corruption kink there too. Not a sex hc but I also think that most minks (varies from species to species) have a superior sense of smell, and at some point Nekomamushi mentions that pretty much everyone can tell when you two have fucked (even when you don't have marks to show it) and you're like EXCUSE ME? But it turns out no one cares--minks are far less reserved about sex due to being in a community that can pretty much smell whenever it's recently happened. But it still takes you a while to get used to that. What else... You and Nekomamushi have grooming sessions where you brush his fur and he'll brush/pick your hair. Sometimes he can't resist his instincts and bends down to give your head a lick, but just fucks up your hair/gets stuck in his tongue barbs and he's like bleh bleh. Then apologizes for messing up your hair again. Grooming sessions are otherwise very cuddly and he purrs the whole time and when it doesn't turn into naps it often turns into sex.

It honestly brightens my day!!! I agree with all of your hcs about him so far. I think they would have a way better sense of smell. I could also see that he and everyone else on Zoe would be able to smell when you’re aroused 😈😈😈 but I also can see the minks all besides Nekomamushi and Inuarashi freaking out the first time you get your period around them because they smell blood on you and they don’t know why. The dukes have to explain human reproductive cycles to get everyone to calm down lol. The grooming session are so cute 😩😩😩 I could see Nekomamushi getting so relaxed as you brush his tail that he falls asleep. Another hc that I see is you learning how to cook lasagna just the way he likes it and he gets really surprised and pretty much eats it all in one go but loves it more than usual because you were the one who made it special for him.

Everyone is super open with sex and are a lot less prudish about it then humans are for sure I totally agree with you on that. I see that Nekomamushi would be to possessive to share you though. He just gives me that vibe that he would just like to keep you all to himself and nuzzle and cuddle you.

The last one (for now) is that he does that thing that cats do where they will come and bop you with their head and nuzzle you. It goes along with the scent thing you mentioned earlier. Cats do it as a sign of affection and ownership. He does to to show others that you are taken.

Also the corruption kink… idk what that is but I’m going to go look that up it sounds interesting 👀👀👀

1 - Describe their first date.

Oofh! You know, I really have to give this some thought. I had an "official" first date fic for Ethan & Casey when they were still a pairing, but I never did one for any of my others, sad right?

Tobias & Casey (OH) will forever argue over what their first date was. He would say it was the night they hung out with her friends at Donahue's or when he took her to a late-night bar after her shift, even though that one led to the reason they split before the attack. Casey would say it was their first "date" after they admitted their feelings for each other (not written yet). Of course, it could be argued that it was one of the many times Tobias took her out when she was still coping with the aftermath of the attack. For example, this trip to a Cambridge bookstore - involving a "friendly kiss", or the hometown Christmas weekend getaway he took her on, or their trip to an alpaca farm on Valentine's Day.

Sure, they weren't together yet on those dates, but they were in love with each other - that counts, right? It depends on who you ask! 😉

I think Ethan & Kaycee (OH) will find themselves in a similar predicament. After all, several moments in canon could be considered their first data, such as the trip to the coffee shop or the opera (that's my vote). Like T&C, these two were already head over heels in love by the time they were official - so it's difficult to say.

But I def feel like they need an official first date fic... don't you?

For Eli & Zoe (WTD) in WTD, the fic is in my WIPS, but yet again - the feelings were already there (and they had already done the deed) before they were official. But once they were, Eli remembered his Mom talking about how special her first date with his father was, and he knew he wanted to do something special for Zoe. In a post-apocalyptic world (not unlike NYC yesterday lol), options were limited.

I think he packed a picnic lunch, got the motorcycle, and took Zoe for a lovely little picnic. They talked for hours, skinny-dipped in the lake, and played silly games that she taught him (like "Mother May I?"). Yeah, I'll finish writing it lol

For Trystan & Carolina (CoP)- too new, I'm not sure. Though, I'm sure once they are together he will want a BIG FANCY night to spoil her. She'll enjoy it, but she's a much simpler woman. She'll tell him he's getting a date night she plans, and that will mean going to a Yankee game, tailgating, and eating hotdogs. 🌭

Ethan & Eva (OH/TC World) are going to be a frenemies-to-lovers story. It will be fun. Their first date will be almost on a dare, but it will be more romantic than either anticipated.

7 - How often do they say “I love you”?

Tobias & Casey: All the freaking time. This is a couple that is not shy about PDA, stealing kisses and ILYs every single chance they can.

Ethan & Kaycee: Every morning, every night before going to bet, several more times during the day.

Eli & Zoe: They say it fairly frequently. Zoe will say it privately & publicly, Eli limits it to privately at first, but that doesn't last too long.

Trystan & Carolina: I'm sure they'll say it every night and text it during the day. But I can see these two having a code for ILY more than the words. Not sure what it will be yet, but it will be something along the lines of "Ditto" from Ghost.

Eli & Eva: At least daily, but they're more likely to do so in private. In public, they usually stick to busting each other's chops. lol

17 - How well do they communicate? Are they open with their feelings/thoughts or more reserved? Why?

Tobias & Casey: They had growing pains with this early in their relationship. Times when each was afraid to admit how they felt, admit things they were afraid of, etc. And it caused some issues. Once they talked through it, these two are how to communicate as a couple masterclass, which is why I think they're such a team. They truly operate as a unit, and this is why.

Ethan & Kaycee: I know you'll be shocked, but Ethan is more reserved at first. Kaycee is the opposite. She can and will talk to him about anything. She slowly gets him out of his shell, and once she does, she jokes that she wishes she could push him back in at times because he won't shut up.

Eli & Zoe: Believe it or not, they're very open about their feelings and talk all the time. Eli being so reclusive was just a reaction to the trauma he endured. It wasn't who he originally was as a person. Still, he stays closed off to all except those closest to him, but none is closer than Zoe, and he's very open with her.

Trystan & Carolina and Ethan & Eva: These two couples are still in development, so it's not as easy to say with confidence just yet. But I can see Trystan & Carolina not always being the best at communicating, and it can cause issues at times. They'll work on it, though. Ethan & Eva will have good communication, but they won't be the type of couple who always wants to talk about feelings. However, when they need to, they will do it with ease.

27 - How do they say “I love you” non-verbally?

Tobias & Casey: 😏😏😏 I mean... lol. Yes, physical affection is big to them. They're both very sexual beings, and they are so into each other that these two are always ready to combust. But what they have is so much more than that. They look out for each other, take care of one another, do their best to be the partner the other needs.

Ethan & Kaycee: These two are workaholics, even when they know it isn't necessarily healthy for them. So they push each other to take it easy. They find little ways to bring each other levity through the work day... favorite coffee, ensuring the other rests, a shoulder rub, 😏😏😏. They try to make each other's life easier because they know the pressure each has.

Eli & Zoe: Their fierce loyalty to one another is one way. When Zoe is the leader of Olympus, Eli will not tolerate seeing her disrespected, and he will always present a united front w/ her, even if they disagree in private. His unwavering faith in her helps her become her best self. Zoe is fiercely protective of Eli. She knows they've all been through so much, but his story is particularly harsh. She does all she can to assure he feels loved and as safe as they can feel.

Trystan & Carolina and Ethan & Eva: I'm still figuring that out for these two new pairings.

(Halloween headcanons that no one asked for but I am sharing anyway):

🎃 Happy Halloween, everyone!! I thought I'd share some random headcanons about my Strangerville OCs because Halloween probably won't be shown in the story. Fair warning this is so long lmfao like I'm serious... it's a lot of words. I rambled a lot. But if you actually read this ily and hope you enjoy! ❤

Tashia obviously loves Halloween. Outside of her birthday or her close friends/family's birthdays, it is the best day of the year for her. She hosts a Halloween bash at the 8-Bit every year for adults and sets up a whole treats and food station outside for the kids - caramel apples, apple cider, pumpkin spice cookies, full sized candy bars, popcorn, hotdogs, etc.

On the flipside, Erwin surprisingly doesn't like Halloween all that much. He loved it when he was a kid, but he would say that all holidays kind of suck when you get older (ever the optimist lmao). He is the king of minimal effort costumes - for example, his normal clothes and a pumpkin head that he definitely doesn't take off even to smoke (I like to imagine the cigarette poking out the mouth just a little lmfao).

Beckett and Junia would costume shop together. They are only dressing up because they're being forced to anyway, so they're going to grab a bagged costume from Spirit. They're not picky, they don't have time to make costumes from scratch!

Anwar didn't celebrate Halloween for most of his childhood - he always forgets about it and has to throw something together last minute every time. He never learns.

Zoe loves group costumes and couple costumes. She's a sappy person who loves expressions of friendship and love. She's never worn a scary costume in her life. She would assert that the world can be scary enough and on the *1* day she can dress up as something, she's going to take that opportunity to dress up as something fun and happy and magical, damnit!!!!!

Tashia likes her costumes to be scary and sexy. Anwar just wants to be sexy. Beckett will always pick something super recognizable because it makes for good conversations and jokes.

Junia is an artist but has 0 creativity when it comes to dressing up and cosplaying, so she always needs help and suggestions.

Erwin and his big sister Maggie used to carve very specific pumpkin faces growing up (really recognizable, ridiculous ones basically) so he takes the time to carve a pumpkin every year and set it out for her. He figures that if she's alive and sees it, she'll know he's looking for her. And if she's not alive... well, he figures she'll at least know he never forgot her, he never gave up on her ever.

When Zoe finds out about this habit, Erwin is worried it's going to weird her out or make her feel bad for him, but instead she's totally understanding and asks if they can put one at her house too, just in case.

The gang has scary movie nights at Zoe's when they have some downtime. Everyone (except Tashia) is terrified when it's Erwin's turn to pick the movies because they're always either (1) horrifying and gross or (2) just horrifying. He takes pride in his niche horror talent.

Tashia has a "spooky music" playlist she made herself that she listens to starting in like mid-August. She thinks it's dumb that "Christmas people" get music on the radio in November and that's normal but listening to Halloween music isn't.

Halloween in Strangerville feels like stepping back in time. The streets are decorated and people are all outside participating (no houses with their porch lights off). Even the local businesses decorate and hand out candy (and the decorations they use are quite literally 30 years old lol). There are yard decorating contests and doors open everywhere, it's just got that "small town" feel and everyone is talking to everyone.

The Roswell's couldn't take Beckett trick or treating most years, but after he got sick his mom started feeling like it was important for him to not miss out on childhood experiences. She would dress up with him (he would choose the costumes and she'd wear them no matter how ridiculous) and she'd take him trick or treating. Ted always worked on Halloween, so it kind of became a bonding day for Meredith and Beckett.

Junia is tough as nails, but she hates gore with a passion. If the movie has gore, she will be watching from behind a blanket and trying not to gag (while spending the other half of the time annoyed with people making stupid decisions.) But don't point out these quirks or else she will get very grumpy with you lol.

They all tried to go to a haunted house one year but Junia accidentally got so scared that she might have punched one of the workers. Needless to say... they don't do haunted houses any more 😂.

Anwar works at a hospital (he's a nurse) and during the holidays he is always the kid's favorite because he tries his best to make it fun for them! He always has candy or little toys, memorizes innocently spooky stories to share with the older kids, even incorporates little silly spooky things in his uniform. He comes off really cool and level headed, but he is soooooo soft around kids.

Zoe has watched Hocus Pocus so much that she knows it word-for-word. She can even reenact the "I Put a Spell on You" performance perfectly. She also loves Coraline!

Erwin and Zoe binge watch the 90s Goosebumps episodes during the month of October. (Also it should be noted that Erwin can play the Goosebumps theme on guitar which is super silly).

mixed feelings about deflagration. I'm not usually one to complain about an episode, but I was underwhelmed and even a little irked...

sorry if that bums you out. in fact, you may not want to read this list past #1 (which is objectively funny).

So we all agree we have severe psychological trauma from Gabriel's.... whatever that was?

2. Zoe I tried to give you a chance even after your botched introduction as Chloe's secret sister... but honestly just leave. I hope she does go back to New York. When she was little more than a character model standing next to Chloe, I could be indifferent... I could tolerate her... But the more they focus on her, the less I like her... If I didn't love Adrien and Marinette so much, she might just be awful enough to kill my interest in the show. :(

3. I didn't exactly think Gabriel's plan made perfect sense (why akumatize anyone at all? Just follow them home or something), but liked the general direction of the plot and the raised stakes of almost losing.

4. The way the underground movement kicked in and the teamwork was nice... but they defeated Monarch way too easily. Every other time Gabe gets his hands on even one of the two, it's been game over. Respect to Tikki and Plagg, but you're telling me they couldn't resist in Ephemeral?

5. Genuinely sad when Adrien is sad. :( He missed having Plagg as a friend. Love him as the protective BF and love that he got to take the Ladybug earrings from his father. :)

6. Adrienette is still so cute, but honestly... Marinette has a problem. Wait. Listen. I'm not one to say she's never allowed to be cringey and neurotic. Cringe is part of her character and I love her for it and despite it. Heck, I consider myself cringe in various ways.. So I'm not here to blame her for being awkward or clumsy or whatever else... I can even forgive her statue scene... But this is a whole different ballgame. She's acting downright terrified of Adrien (I get there is some trauma there, but TBH Chat Blanc was way worse or at least equally as bad, and she managed that fear way better... she even let herself fall for Chat Noir, take his hand, and kiss him on the lips despite the trauma of Chat Blanc... I just don't totally understand the inconsistency). And okay, it's fine if she's nervous around him and awkward and not ready to hold hands or say ILY... but then don't keep forcing yourself to do those things. If it freaks you out so much just apologize and say you're not ready. Tell him you didn't wash your hands or something ridiculous. Just... Read your body signals. That's all.
