okay i genuinely love traveling alone bc it means i can do shit like spend my entire vacation eating food i want, meandering into shops and shrines at my leisure, sitting in parks and reading, and doing karaoke every night for an entire week. like. if i was with someone i would feel far more pressure to do a bunch of touristy stuff and “make an experience” or w/e (and tbf i do kind of feel like that for this trip since several people were like “show me pictures when you get back!” not knowing i am The Worst at vacation pictures since i dont do selfies and i take pictures purely to appease Myself) but it’s also like... this is my vacation. i’m here on my own. so yeah, i am going to take a siesta in the middle of the day in my hotel, i am going to do two hours of karaoke, i am going to go visit the shrine i love and just wander around. and bc i’m alone, i dont have to justify that to anyone or accommodate anyone else’s desires and frankly it’s the best feeling in the world. everyone should travel internationally by themselves at least once if they have the money/time bc then maybe less people would double take or act like i murdered a kitten when i tell them i prefer it.

Something Stupid
Tumblr media
pairing: Wanda Maximoff x reader
summary: and then she goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid like...."I love you."
content: absolute teeth rotting fluff. pining for each other but wandas is much more intense? tiniest bit of blackhill if you squint.
a/n: had this idea for a while, and I actually kinda like it??? idk. first time for everything. reader is referred to as "sweets" like twice just because I love the nickname. it's what my boyfriend calls me. anyway. love yall!!
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Wanda Maximoff loves you.
She’s known that for years.
She’s known it since she first became an avenger and felt a strange urge to gain your forgiveness over everyone else's after what her and her late-brother Pietro did during the battle against Ultron.
She knew it when you became her best friend, teaching her how to control her magic and really just how to enjoy life.
She knew it when she had to watch as you got ready for dates with people that would never live up to your standards. Not she thought she would live up to your standards- no, she knew she couldn't- but she did know she treat you better then any of those no good pigs who are just looking for a fuck buddy ever good. The witch wouldn’t go up against your suitors though, just standing on the sidelines as her heart slowly breaks faster and faster the more you don’t see her in the same light you do them.
Little she did she know, she was the only one you truly wanted.
So finally, Wanda worked up the courage to ask you out so she no longer had to cry into her pillow while you were out sucking face with someone else.
Surprisingly, you agreed easily. The only thing you had to say was that she had to promise it wouldn’t change anything between you guys for the worse. If it didn’t work, you guys couldn’t become like Natasha and Maria. (those girls can’t be in the same room as each other for more than 2 seconds without making a backhanded comment about their four week long situationship)
The Maximoff girl agreed, eagerly setting up a dinner date.
It had quickly gone wrong.
The reservation was somehow not in the book despite the fact that Wanda called the fancy dinner place with insane prices about six times in the hour-long drive there. So you told her it was fine, that you’d be happy with some food from the delicious Thai place down the road as long as you were with her. But they were out of your favorite and Wanda ate so much that she felt ready to barf as you guys walked out of the restaurant- that was before she actually did barf in the parking lot.
Finally, you guys headed to a bar near the Avengers tower for a quick nightcap, but that quickly turned into you both downing two drinks each before stumbling onto the dance floor.
A sweet looking old man who’s been reading a comic book in the corner sees you two and decides to put his own change in the jukebox and press play on a slow, but peaceful song. He sends you guys a smile, winking Wanda's way before he continues to read about some cool looking superheroes.
Wanda’s hands fall to your waist, gently gripping them as you both sway. Your head falls to lay on her shoulder, arms wrapped around the back of her neck as the music fills your ears. Her breath is on the back of your neck, warm, but it doesn’t even begin to compare to the feeling of her lips as she places a gentle kiss in that same spot.
Then she goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid like, “I love you, sweets.”
You roll your eyes, thinking back to how many times people have told you that during first dates just to get in your pants. Though you will admit that when you hear Wanda say it, it brings a small, warm, fluttering feeling to your chest, and you manage to let out a small giggle before you say, “No you don't. You don’t love me Wanda. You like me. There’s a difference.”
She fights the urge to tell you that she knows there is a difference between love and like. She knows that because she’s felt both those ways towards you. Why can’t you just understand that so she doesn’t have to find a way to put it into words?
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
After a few days of her saying the same thing and you never believing her, the witch realizes she has to put it in words. Nothing else is capable of explaining how she feels about you. How she’s felt for so long.
So she recruits Natasha and Clint for help, and they spend the day working on some speeches. By 2pm, she has this;
“Are you from Tennessee? Cuz you’re the only ten-I-see.” - A line from Natasha which she used on Maria who was passing by at that moment just to prove to Wanda it works. (Natasha left and was found leaving the agents room an hour later. Apparently that’s back on)
“I love you.” - Clint Barton, the stupidest man on earth. There is a reason people call him bird brain. They were there because the three words are not enough to describe what she feels towards you. Did he even read what was on the brunch invitation? It clearly stated; “fixing Wanda's love life; no I love you’s, no magic town in which she controls so she can make Sweets fall in love with her against their will.”
“Hey, do you have wifi? Cuz I’m really feeling a connection.” - Natasha. She once again used it on Maria and was gone for another two hours. Can someone please address this?
“Start listing facts about the baby turtles you saved. Always gets the ladies.” - from Tony, who was walking by the living room and decided now was the best time to interrupt. He has never once gotten close enough to endangered animals to be able to ‘save’ them, but we can pretend if he wants too.
“Are you a beaver? Cuz dam.” - Natasha. (someone needs to restrain Maria from jumping the redheads bones. She is literally needed at this meeting.)
So, as we can see, no one is any help.
She decides after that to just go with her gut, and her gut is telling her that you’ll know when the time is right, and hopefully will send her a sign.
Maybe the sign is sooner rather than later.
The witch spends about an hour in her bedroom in front of her mirror, trying on every outfit from sweats and a t-shirt to the 10,000 dollar dress Tony bought her for her birthday. Which clothes would draw your attention to her? She thinks about that alot, which is why she wears different outfits everyday simply in hopes of you sending her a small compliment. She always spends countless amounts of time planning the perfect outfit just to hear you say, “You look pretty Wans.”
Why is this happening to her?
It’s when she sets up a cute little picnic under the stars with all your favorite foods and snacks and a makeshift tv screen with a projector to watch your favorite film do you realize that you are deeply and utterly in love with Wanda Maximoff.
She’s sweet, and pretty. She can always make you laugh when you truly think you no longer can.
And besides all that, she’s your best friend. The one that will stick with you through thick and thin simply because she wants to be beside you.
You can’t help but feel your cheeks beginning to heat up every single time she even glances in your direction, let alone actually speak to you. You can feel your stomach flutter with a mix of excitement and nerves as she just… exists.
You don’t tell her that though, afraid of getting your feelings hurt.
You just sit down on the nice thick blanket with her, grabbing some grapes to give a few to her and a few to herself as she presses play on the movie. It’s silent other than the sound of the movie, but she can hear your thoughts louder than any film. It’s not like she’s trying to read your mind. The witch vowed to herself to never use her magic on you unless it was necessary or life saving. That includes mind reading. Your thoughts are too loud though, and even with the amount of control she has over her powers, they still fill her head as she tries to focus on the movie.
“I love her.”
“She says she loves you.”
“She doesn’t mean it.”
“Yes she does.”
“No she doesn’t.”
“It doesn’t matter. I love her.”
Your internal battle on if she truly does love you or not breaks her heart into a million pieces, though she doesn’t want to call you out on it and make you feel uncomfortable. So you guys continue silently watching the movie. She doesn’t mention your loud thoughts, and you don’t mention that you can feel her eyes burning into the side of your face as she stares.
When the movie is over and the projector turns off, you guys sit in the darkness of the night. There are stars dressing the night sky, so you silently look at them as Wanda turns on her side so she can gently pull you closer to her.
The moment is perfect; looking up at the stars in each other's warm embrace, your back pressed against her front and she moves around until she snuggles her head into the crook of your neck, so close to you that your perfume fills her senses and puts her into a peaceful bliss. Your truly happy as is she, and this time, as she says the tree words, you find yourself believing her;
“I love you.”
She doesn’t regret it or cringe out of embarrassment when she says it like she did last time. The witch just lets the words hang in the air. If you choose to say them back, you do. If not, at least you'll understand how much she truly means it.
“I love you.” You whisper back with new found confidence, and her chest fills with warmth and pure happiness. You finally believe her. Her words sounded so sincere and simple, not like the drunk words she said a few days ago. It’s the only reason you feel okay telling her the truth. You love Wanda Maximoff.
“I love you.” She mumbles, leaving a chaste kiss on your cheek.
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”

-anon🦈
Apologies
Hey anon, super happy to have you requesting here!! This was really fun and lovely to make!
Pairing: top agent whiskey x bottom male!reader Content: Established relationship, praising, breeding and soft Whiskey.
Tumblr media
“Jack, you can’t just tell me you’re gonna be gone for a day then actually take 3 days then say your phone ran out of battery!” you were mad at Whiskey, he pulled this stuff regularly, “Sometimes I wonder if you cheat on me” you sighed, “Wait, sugar,” he called you, but it was too late, you were angrily stepping towards your room now, deep down you knew he wouldn’t ever cheat on you. The man was all over you when he was at home, but the fear was there.
You had booked a date with you and him at this fancy restaurant which was usually always full for yesterday, but he decided to come back a day later without even telling you, which made you so mad and you didn’t know why. Whiskey once again entered the room following after you, “Sugar- please-” he begged you to listen. You just sat on your bed, with folded arms, you shook your head, he frowned and stepped outside your room.
After a few more attempts over the next few hours that failed miserably he decided to stop and just let you do your own thing, ny now you regretted giving him the silent treatment and worried if you were going to get the same from him, so you walked up to him, he was in the living room, looking anxious, you had a sorrowful look on your face, his eyes lit up when he saw you, but he didn’t say anything, “Listen, I’m actually so sorry” he started
“No, it was me, I over reacted, I was just pissed cause I booked this place at a fancy restaurant and you couldn’t make it in time, I was silly” you admitted, “No, no, sugar, you weren’t, I’ll charge my phone often, I’ll tell you when my missions are prolonged” he held your hand as he said it, “Jack…” you went in and hugged him tightly, you could feel him melt in your arms, “We’re good now?” he asked you, “Yeah, we are, but maybe I want something to make up for missing the table I reserved at that fancy restaurant…” you flirted while grazing his inner thigh, “You sure you wanna ride me, sugar? This cowboy is tired” he said, pointing at himself.
“Well, I don’t have to ride you, you can fuck me missionary” you said, getting closer to him, “and get to see just as much of my face as you do whatever you want to me,” you continued saying seductively, “Fuckkk… when you put it that way-” he smirked,
“Yeah, you’ll still be in charge” you kissed his neck as he flipped you over on the couch, “Over… here?” you asked, surprised he wanted to fuck you in the living room, “Yeah, over here, I’ve wanted to get these clothes off you for too long now” he immediately started removing your clothes, “Already hard for me, hm?” he asked seductively, smirking at you, “I always am” you giggled and he started putting lube on his fingers.
It was clear he was desperate for you by the way he was frantically trying to get his fingers in your ass, even missing a couple times. When he finally put a finger in your as you moaned in pleasure, the first touch your man gave you always felt so good, “F-fuck- Whiskey-” you moaned
“Shh, it’s alright, I’ll add in another one, you’re taking me well sugar, so well” he praised as he started to push 2 fingers. When his fingers grazed your prostate you jumped in pleasure as a shock went through you, it felt so goddamn good.
“W-Whiskey, please-” you begged having no idea of what you were begging for,
but the way your legs were shivering and the cries you let out were more than enough to let him know you liked what he was doing, his fingers always worked magic on you. As he withdrew his finger from your loosened hole, you saw him lube up his dick, “Gonna make everything up to you sugar, getting late, making you lose money, I’m gonna make it worth it, gorgeous, just relax” he whispered into your ear as he smiled sweetly, “F-fuck- do whatever you want-” you whimpered as he started to go inside you, “My sweet boyfriend, he’s so tolerant with me, sometimes too tolerant” he chuckled, you were feeling so much pleasure but even then you chuckled too, “I love you” he said quietly as he started to thrust, you were feeling so much you couldn’t even say it back, it was absolute bliss.
As he kept thrusting, his dick hit your spot over and over again, you were moaning and groaning in pleasure, all Whiskey could focus on was the tight feel of your walls on his dick, how tight you were, how sorry he was, he leaned in and kissed you with full force, his mustache tickling your lips, “Mmm-” all you could do was moan into his mouth as he fucked into you with thrusts that were progressively getting harder. The way his dick felt inside you was heavenly and he nuzzled your shoulder as he saw you getting more desperate to cum, “J-Jack-” you sobbed as you felt yourself tip over the edge, you bit hard into his shoulder as your dick sprayed you and him with cum, when you clenched around him he couldn’t hold it anymore and he shouted your name as he came inside you.
As you came down from your high he looked at you and kissed you again, not as rough, but sweeter this time, you moaned and sighed into each other’s mouths as you kissed him back, “Do you want more, sugar? Anything for you” he smiled, you were honestly exhausted so you shook your head and instead roped him in for a hug, “No baby, I’m fine, I just really wanna cuddle you” you smiled as you kissed his forehead, “So we’re good now?” he asked with the cutest, dorkiest smile he could have, “We’re good my love,” you said as you held him towards you, “I love you” he started to say, “I’ll try to work on my timing” he smiled, “Thanks love, I love you too, more than anything” you stayed talking until eventually you fell asleep, warm, happy and in love.

Theories about Jaiden Lore (Spoilers ahead!)
Okok so what I’m gathering hours after Jaidens stream is:
Jaiden got re-hired and she has “helped them years before”
There are two cucuruchos (which is a bit of a shock but expected but I’ll get into that soon.)
BlueBird AU is real?!?!? (And I have some evidence)
So pulling it all together here’s my intake on the whole thing:
Jaiden was raised by the federation (just as the AU implied) and has done missions on different islands before.
In the room with the two Cucuruchos it is a sort of play room. To be specific, a color enrichment room. There are book shelves, lunch tables, a television (for showing federation videos to children), and some toys. It's a place where you can observe the kids. (If anyone has seen Stranger Things, it's kind of like the rainbow room.)
A purple tree, which represents Jaiden's tree house at Bobby Fields, stands out in that room. It makes me question if Jaiden chose that type of tree subconsciously while building the tree house because it was a happy memory from when she was younger.
Showing this space for children can trigger memories for Jaiden while also hinting to the audience that she has been in that room previously. Also, the "offices" appear to be more like kid rooms, although that could be my imagination.
The wall closing in on Jaiden and trapping her in the chair could possibly have been a test. They wanted to see how much she had recovered from her "training," but she fled and predicted the whole thing. What a silly thing they did.
Now, let's talk about the two Cucuruchos. #1 Cucurucho is the one we knew from the start. Jaiden's first encounter, and the one who began to soften toward her and certain Islanders. He was being excessively carefree and eccentric by playing games with them and dancing with them. He broke from the stereotype of a Cucurucho being cold and rude. So they caught him and dispatched Cucurucho #2.
What I believe happened was that #1 Cucurucho went for a walk with Jaiden and was the actual him. But I believe that was a way for him to say farewell since he understood what was going to happen. He'd been comfortable for far too long, and all he wanted to do was spend his final moments with the person who had treated him with such kindness.  He stared back at Bobby Fields and knew that he wouldn’t return.
(But here’s the part I’m stuck on so feel free to correct me) His final task for the federation was to give Jaiden the book that he didn’t write indicating that he was imperfect now. So when he left he was swapped out.
Cucurucho #2 is exactly what a Cucurucho should be. They emerge unannounced, are remote and reserved, and are a force not to be reckoned with (as seen by their outstanding ability with the gun). They were teaching Jaiden what she shouldn't do by giving her the few books that explained #1's errors.  They could be preparing her to assume Cucurucho's place or to become a proper Federation employee in some ways.
By showing Jaiden Cucurucho #1 it could be an intervention or a way to show her the consequences of breaking the Federations code of perfection.
Also Cucurucho #1 being a parental figure is very possible and I will die on that grave. With Jaiden being the only one who can pick out the differences between the Cucurucho’s can stem from being around #1 for so long that it’s an instinct at that point.
So, what about future theories? Without a doubt, Jaiden will work for the Fed. She will, however, most likely not be the same. I can't fathom her being locked away and not seen for two weeks. But I can see her becoming brainwashed. I'd like to believe that a Jaiden NPC will cruise the server and acquire information because, as I previously stated, Jaiden is told everything. So, while a copy and nonverbal version roam the server (since Cc!jaiden will not be online), Q!Jaiden could be re-educated on their federation tasks.
Anyways that’s all! I love how much Jaiden was playing her character. She really was in lore mode and played the silly naive character very well.

hello in honor of the new barbie movie can we get a jotarox female reader where she has to beg him to take her to see it and he finally complies and takes her bc he loves her(sorry my english😅) 🙏
you know I was waiting for an ask like this 😬 and i do have something in store for this specific prompt. It's short though, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless ^^ 💕
Barbie Girl - Jotaro x Reader
Tumblr media
word count: 811
It’s everywhere and it’s the new big thing. The Barbie movie is out and everyone is hooked into watching it live in cinemas. Everyone included you.
Now, normally you’d have no problem doing exactly that. You could just text your friends about getting together in your rocking pink outfits and watch the hottest film this week, but you had other plans and those plans included-
“Come on~ Let’s watch it together.”
“No. Not happening.”
Wanting to watch Barbie with your boyfriend Jotaro Kujo, who in all aspects, was the most likely to be opposed in watching movies like that. No one’s surprised when you look at him in his dark fits and standoffish demeanor.
But you couldn’t help but try and persuade him anyways while you two were in the comforts of his bedroom. After all, you did manage to convince him to do a bunch of other stuff he wouldn’t do in the past.
“Aw why not?”
“Because I’m not interested,” he said. “Besides, don’t you have other friends who’d be more interested in watching that with you?”
“Well yeah but,” you sighed, dramatically lying down on his sheets. “They’ve already booked their tickets and I told them beforehand that I’d be reserving the movie date with you.”
“So it’s your fault for thinking ahead of time,” Jotaro cocked his eyebrow.
“Yah.” You landed a slap on his bicep. “You should be grateful I’m this considerate for wanting to include and prioritize you in my plans.”
He had the gall to smirk and huff, turning to you to flick your forehead. “Then that’s more of a you problem.” You narrowed your eyes at him with a pout as you grabbed the hand that flicked you. Though with a couple of puppy-eyed blinking and pouting, your boyfriend couldn’t resist but chuckle at your cutesy antics. “But I do appreciate you thinking about me.”
“Does that mean you’ll watch Barbie with me?” You beamed, hopeful.
“No.”
“You jackass.” This time, you grabbed one of his pillows to throw at his smug smile. Not like it did anything since he caught it with one hand. “Ahh what will it take to convince you to watch one movie with me?”
He leaned back onto his headboard with his arms crossed, proud of his stubborn decision. “I told you. I’m not going to watch the movie.”
“Oh yeah?” It was your turn to smirk. You got on all fours and prowled your way up his bed until you settled yourself on his lap. “Not even when I give you a bunch of these?” To demonstrate, you cupped his cheeks and planted a couple of light kisses on his forehead, nose, temples, and lips.
Especially the lips where you kept on returning to for two to three more smooches. Can you blame yourself? When Jotaro tend to reciprocate your affections when it’s just the two of you around? More so when his arms would wrap around you as a go signal to continue?
But you drew back eventually, slightly breathless. “Still?”
He tilted his head, smugness still present. “Still not watching. You know those won’t work on me.”
“Watch it if you love me.”
“You’d break up with me if I still say no?”
You pouted. “No…”
“Cute.”
This time, you groaned and dropped your head on his shoulder. “Come on~ Why are you so against watching Barbie?” You whined. “Can you not be the Ken to my Barbie for just 2 hours?”
“Hmm… on one condition.”
You widened your eyes at the suggestion and pushed yourself upright, still on him. “What? What is it?”
“We get to watch Oppenheimer too.”
“Oppen-” You let the name replay before you made the prolonged “ahhh” sound of recognition. “That’s it?! You could’ve just said that in the beginning and I’ll be more than willing to watch that movie with you!”
“You didn’t look the type to watch a biopic about a man inventing nuclear bombs.”
“Well you didn’t look the type to watch anything hot pink and glitter adjacent but I still asked anyways.”
But with you accepting his condition, that meant one thing. “So… does that mean you’ll finally watch my movie?”
Jotaro stared at you for a full minute before sighing heavily. “Fine. One time only.”
“Deal!” You thanked your boyfriend with one more kiss on his lips before getting up. Immediately, you opened his wardrobe. “Now let’s look for something pink that you can wear-”
“Oi, since when did I say I’d wear pink?”
“We have to be in theme, love! Besides, you can still wear black with it because of Mr. Oppenheimer.” You shuffled through his clothes. “Now, I did remember you having one the other time…”
You heard him scoff in the back, though his next words were that of fond annoyance. “You’re going to be the death of me, woman.”
“Drama king.”

♠️♥️High Card Short Story 10 “A Visitor at Sunfields” (3/3)♦️♣️
While the three were having a small talk, something suddenly occurred to Finn, which led to an unexpected development!

Our conversation with Bernard-jiichan carried on for a little while. I spoke to Lindsey on the phone once a week, but we did not get to see each other in person often. Moreover, this time jii-chan offered his persective on the stories I’ve told him, so it might sound like something entirely new to Lindsey.
As expected from jii-chan, he took good care of me. I guess that is fitting for a gentleman.
Obviously I could not talk about the X-Playing cards, so I had to cut a large part out of the whole story about my job, but then again there was not much I had to do everyday as a High Card member. So far it’s enough to give Lindsey the gist of my daily routine.
“Oh, that’s right! I forgot about the most important thing.”
I yelled out.
“What is it?”
“Come to think of it, you mentioned that you might be going on a date today, didn’t you? How did it go in the end?”
At my words, Lindsey retreated and blushed.
“Wha……! Finn! W-what are you talking about?”
His eyes darted around helplessly while he was trying to steal a few glances at jii-chan.
“You told me that earlier on the phone, though? You were asked out on a date.”
“N-n-no, not at all. That’s totally wrong. I was just invited for a dinner… I already turned it down anyway.”
He put his hands forward, shaking them lightly.
“Clyde, wasn’t it? Stuff like accidentally touched hands when picking the same book at the bookstore… it sounds right out of a rom-com film!”
“H-hey, watch it. Don’t make fun of the adults.”
“At first glance he seemed to be tough, yet the eyes behind his glasses looked very kind, right?”
“I never said that!”
I pointed straight at Lindsey.
“Come on, take out your phone right away. Now make a call and tell him you want to meet up.”
“Ehh. No way, no way….. I’m unable to go either way because I have to keep an eye on the kids.”
“What do you think I came here for? I’ll babysit for about the next 2-3 hours. I’m definitely free.”
“But….. I’ve already refused him once, so…..”
“In that case just go on the next day. I’ll take my annual leave! Isn’t that right, jii-chan?”
As if pondering about it jii-chan remained silent for a moment, before giving Lindsey a small nod.
“I can’t guarantee that Leo-sama would approve your leave, but personally I will coax him to do so. However if it turns out that he still wouldn’t allow it… then, I hope you don’t mind if I come here myself.”
“H-how could you possibly say that! Bernard-san!”
“I knew it, jii-chan, you’re always a real one. Come on, it is already settled. Let’s make that call. Y’know what, I’ll do it myself.”
I straightened up and just as I was about to swipe Lindsey’s phone from inside his pocket, Lindsey turned his back on me and glared over his shoulder with a look of disapproval on his face.
“I-I got it, alright…..”
“Come on, make that call right here!”
“I’m not calling anyone!”
While saying so Lindsey fled from the room. I cackled out loud, and jii-chan had a faint smile.
In the end, Lindsey eventually went on a date with Clyde. Initially he appeared to be reluctant to go, yet he brushed his hair, trimmed his beard, and put on a suit which seems to be reserved for special occasions. The usual Lindsey is homely and easily forgettable, but he is honestly a handsome guy. Perhaps he used to be quite popular.
Once, I asked him if he was ever going go get married, but he said that he was too occupied with the orphanage to consider marriage. Apparently, he had been separated from his partner then.
However, I remember that at that time, with a smile blooming on his face as he hugged me, Lindsey told me that he was truly happy just to be with us.
That said, Lindsey also had his own life. He deserved a chance to spread his wings a little. If I managed to do well at Pinochle and get a raise, on top of buying the property, I would also be able to hire people. That would make things easier for Lindsey.
——Just like that, 3 hours had passed. Somehow Bernard-jiichan still kept up with me at the orphanage.
But our presence really did gave rise to a big fuss. Afterall, seeing an unusual visitor, moreover one who was willing to play with them, made the children very excited.
The first thing we did was to play chase. The kids had limitless physical stamina, and that aside they took turns playing, so I became reasonably exhausted. On the other hand, perhaps because jii-chan had a great sense of when to use his stamina, although he must have been running as fast as I was, he did not even seem to be out of breath.
Soon after that, a magic show was set up in the cafeteria. Jii-chan made use of handkerchiefs, trump cards, and other stuff which we already had at the orphanage, and tricked them to disappear or change—thus the kids got excited all over again.
The kids did not even spare a glance at me, but they seem happy nevertheless. Finally, as jii-chan said, “won’t we play together again when I visit?” the show came to a close.
At around the same time Lindsey came back home, so I asked, “how was your date?”, and while looking embarrassed he gave me a V-sign using his fingers. It was known for a fact that this guy enjoyed romance novels and films, but when it comes to his personal romantic ventures, I had no clue about what kind of guy he was. I really did not get what a V-sign means, but I guess I’ll ask him on the phone next time.
Then when the night fell, jii-chan and I hopped to our cars and returned to the branch office. The kids waved their hands at us as they usually did, but this time I’m sure they were directed at jii-chan.
♠️♥️♦️♣️

Hey this is what I commented about! Could you maybe write a fluffy story where All of måneskin come to your home town for the first time and you go on a walk with them all and take them into a forest as they all say things like “girl do you know where we are” and a really confused boyfriend (Thomas) , it’s ok if not but if you can then thanks 💗🌹🌷
The Part Of Me I’ll Always Need - Thomas Raggi
╔═════ ∘◦ ☆ ◦∘ ══════╗
Pairing: Thomas Raggi x Reader (she/her) + Guest Appearances from Ethan Torchio, Damiano David and Victoria De Angelis
Requested: Yes
Summary: Y/N’s boyfriend decides to surprise her, by bringing his bandmates to her hometown. The girl suggests they take a walk through the forest and have a picnic. As it turns out after a good hour of wandering it seems they can’t find the spot. Just as they begin doubting Y/N’s knowledge of the trees surrounding here house they find out she’s been planning a surprise all along.
Warnings:  Fluff (Is that even a warning?); Proofread, but there is a chance there are mistakes, since I typed this out at 2 A.M.
A/N: Hey! Here is another Thommy story, brought to you by Monster and moi (I’m not actually sponsored, by Monster, but at this point with how many cans I’ve had I think it’s time they do.)  I hope you enjoy! :) Love, Axe <3

The sunlight mustered a magnificent mosaic - gold reflecting from each leaf and branch. Each ray fell gently on bumpy surfaces, as if it was happy to be a part of this mural. Y/N sat in bed - an almost empty cup of coffee on her nightstand, an open laptop on her lap. Manuscripts upon manuscripts. Dull, borning, pretentious. She couldn’t help rolling her eyes; life was ugly, emotions weren’t always beautiful and gracious. There was darkness in the light; and there was light in the darkness, always. However these concepts seemed to be left out of most of these future best-selling authors’ works.
Three knocks distracted her from her work. Y/N put her slippers on walking over to the door. The cabinet in the small halfway was a mess - bottles of hairspray, make-up, jewellery, nail polish, sunglasses. She grabbed the colourful bunch - more keychains than keys hung on the silver ring. One of the eiffel tower, for when she was away, which seemed pretty pointless now that she was home and could see it every time she got out on her balcony for a smoke; one of the colosseum - it reminded her of Rome, the summer she met her boyfriend, the apartment they bought together; the third one was a metal sunflower, the fourth - a red paperclip. She swiftly twisted the key, unlocking the door.
“Buongiorno, mademoiselle." A huge bunch of the yellow flowers was clutched in a man’s hand, a backpack resting by his side. Thomas. “Sun! What are you doing here?” The girl left the bouquet on the ground, throwing her arms around the man. “Well, we happened to be passing by and I decided to come visit, my love.” Y/N glowed as the guitarist kissed her lips. She took a second to observe him.
His gorgeous green eyes fogged with exhaustion; his freckles - now lighter; hair slightly shorter. A wide shirt hung around his frame, most of the buttons left unbuttoned revealing his chest and leaving his tattoos on display.
“Anyway, enough about me. How have you been?” Thomas’ irises sparkling with excitement as they walked to her bedroom. “Well, Mr. International superstar, my life is far less entertaining than yours. All I’ve done the past few months was argue with book agents and try my best to make pretentious fucks, sound more like human beings and less than robots trying to figure out how the human world functions.” Y/N’s gaze wandered around the room landing upon a paint-coated canvas, wrapped in sparkly paper with a tulle bow in the middle. “Oh, I was also invited to this very cool exhibition and might have spoken to the artist about you… And we may or may not have made you a little… Well… Gift.” The girl grabbed the edge of the frame, sliding it to the boy. “Open it.”
His long fingers worked on ripping the paper, a slight shake to his hands. Soon it was all gone, the present revealed - a painting of Y/N and him. He immediately recognised the photo it was inspired by, a polaroid they had taken before tour - Thomas was on his knees on the messy sheets; his girlfriend positioned between his legs, champagne-coloured lingerie adorning her body; his lips were sunk into her shoulder. The room behind them - chaotic; an almost empty bottle of wine and an abundance of clothes thrown around.
“Do you like it?” Y/N placed her head on his back. “I fucking love it.” The sound of a doorbell going off interrupted them, just as their lips were about to touch. “Ugh…” The girl rolled her eyes, as she got to the door. Her own surprise awaited her on her doorstep - the rest of her friends stood in front of her. “Guys! What are you doing here?” She yelled excitedly, throwing her arms around Ethan’s neck. “Hey, kiddo.” He smiled at her. “How have you been?” “Pretty good, grandpa.” Y/N/N giggled. “What about you?” “Tired, but happy.” The drummer nodded. “So, we didn’t interrupt you and the cowboy, did we?” Damiano inspected the make-up that laid on the counter in the room.
“I told someone we should wait…” Victoria pointed towards the singer. “But he didn’t listen.” “No, no, problem at all. We were just talking.” The girl nodded. “Hey, Cobra!” The vocalist patted Thom’s back. “What did you and mademoiselle over here do, huh? You know I am too young to become an uncle, yes?” “Chill, Y/N was kind enough to give me a gift.” “So did you give her the souvenirs or not?” The bassist pushed the boy.
She always thought of the blond as her younger brother, so when he asked for help to buy gifts for his girlfriend, she couldn’t help, but wander into all the shops that seemed to have things that would fit the taste of the editor. In the end, the trinkets of all their destinations were stored in a beautiful velvet bag; the items inside varied from rings, bracelets and charms, to CDs and books.
“Not yet.” The boy smiled sheepishly, before he reached into his bag taking out the purple pouch. “Here you go, love.” Y/N smiled widely, almost tearing up. “Thank you so much, sun! You are so thoughtful!” She kissed his cheek. Her fingertips pulled the ribbons apart, opening the bag. Inside she first spotted an abundance of rings: butterflies, flowers, bees, lions; five CDs - all limited edition albums of her favourite musicians; and a compilation of Charles Bukowski’s poetry. “Flower…” Y/N/N teared up. “This is seriously one of the kindest things ever!” The girl threw her arms around the boy one more time. Damiano cleared his throat behind them. “I’d hate to ruin your romantic moment over there, but if you wouldn’t mind, Thomas, we would all want to speed some time with lil’.” “I am taller than you.” Y/N snickered.
“Of course, of course. Now where should we go?” “Would you guys like to have a picnic? I can get some pastries and coffee from the bakery downstairs and we can take a walk through the forest.” “That sounds like a genius idea.” Vic giggled. “How about we go get them and the boys get the luggage inside.” Y/N/N pretended to think for a minute, before laughing at the request and nodding in agreement.
“Jasmine” seemed small and dark - quite the uninviting view, from anyone unaware of the peace and charm the bakery actually had. No more than 1500 square feet; a chequered floor, teal walls and glass fridges filled with all sorts of sweets - cakes, cookies, muffins and macaroons. “Salut!” Maya lifted her gaze from the display. Her grey-ish hair concealed in a net; skin flecked with sunspots. “Salut, Maya! Ça va?” The girl answered cheerfully. "Ça va, et toi?” The elderly woman answered. “Tres bien. Merci!” Y/N’s gaze slipped from pastry to pastry, discussing what she should get with the bassist. In the end they settled on what to order, asking for it to be placed in a brown paper bag.
Outside the weather was even more sunny than before. The boys stood by the little building smoking cigarettes stuck deep in a conversation about some song. “Hey, boys! We got the food, do you want to get going?” Y/N asked, raising the bag in her left hand. “Of course.” Thomas jogged forward, grabbing the pouch from her and clutching her hand, sealing their lips, before letting her drag him in the direction she had in mind, the rest of the band following. It didn’t take long before they were wandering into a forest-like territory, which was in reality a park, steering off sandy and stone paths and walking through the grass.
Insects flew around them, small lizards making leaves and branches crunch under their bodies.
“Y/N/N, I am not saying I doubt your orientation abilities, but are you sure we are headed the right way?” Ethan was the first one to ask, feeling creeped out by the view of trees behind, in front and to the sides. “I am absolutely sure,we are headed the correct way. We are almost there.”
As if on cue a patch of bare ground appeared on the horizon. “Here we go!” Y/N gestured to the spot, ducks swimming around in the lake, flowers growing close to the water. The girl grabbed the guitarist by the hand, dragging him to the stone-covered ground. “Okay, there’s actually a very important reason I got you guys here exactly.” The girl took out a small box from her back pocket. “Thommy, you make me the happiest woman alive. I’ve never known happiness this strong, before I was with you. I love you and you are the part of me I’ll always need. Will you marry me?” The blond stared at her in disbelief, gaze darting from her face over to the silver band. Still speechless he took his necklace off, opening the pendant that hung on the thin chain - a flat ring inside; the band glimmered, seven small stones set on it.
“I- Y/N, I never want to let you go either.” The boy smiled, as tears filled both of their eyes. “Yes.” He said. “I will marry you.” The woman nodded, placing the ring on his finger with a shaky hand. Extending her own for him to place the ring atop hers. “Okay, can we finally eat?” Damiano giggled excitedly, clapping his hands together.

Day 12 - Najera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada
The Guide Book says today was 13.2 miles, but we made a small diversion for lunch and my phone says 14.5 miles.
We had our bags transferred today so travelled light. As we walk more days the pads of our feet are getting a bit sore and the rucksack feels heavier and heavier! It’s really easy to have it transferred, most albergue’s have envelopes belonging to the carriers which you attach to your rucksack. You need to have somewhere reserved to send it to, and I have been doing all the booking online.
Anyway, back to today…We set off as usual at 7:30 in overcast weather with the odd spot of rain. Within half an hour we had our ponchos on but it never got more than a bit drizzly.
We climbed out of the town through some forestry passing an odd statue of Jesus up on the hill. The hillside, path, rocks and land in general is very red in this part.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were plenty of vineyards to admire, some being very well kept with guys at the side of the path strimming the weeds away. The above ground irrigation system was interesting to see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We were making for Azofra for breakfast, about 4 miles away. Breakfast was the usual coffee, orange juice and pain au chocolat. But to be honest the novelty is now wearing off and we’re thinking of other things that we could have instead.
The lunch stop was about another 6 miles away so we plodded on. Our lives are defined by how far away the villages are for breakfast, lunch and final destination!
The landscape initially wasn’t particularly pretty, the path passing by the side of a motorway, but it soon turned inland and we were once again rewarded by huge open fields, reverting back to the chalk path, deep green barley fields, yellow rape fields and poppies by the pathway. The weather cleared up, the sun came out, and we had some amazing views either side to the hills and mountains.
Tumblr media
As we approached Ciruena, our lunch stop, we initially went through what looked like a golf resort, with modern seemingly empty houses, a golf course and swimming pool. It all looked a bit out of place and odd.
Tumblr media
We diverted off the waymarked path into Ciruena village to the local bar for a welcome drink (Jane had freshly squeezed orange juice and I the local lemonade that I have become very attached to) and a warm tuna, cheese and egg roll.
After lunch we carried on through the open landscape finally reaching Santo Domingo shortly after 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’re in an ancient very large albergue right in the middle of the old town. Our room is in the old part of the hostel up in the eaves. All bar one of the beds are single beds, it’s like an old school dorm!
Tumblr media
I chilled until 5 while Jane went for a wander, then we both went to see the cathedral. It’s huge and they have done a good job inside of making sure everything is explained very well.
Tumblr media
We had a Pilgrim’s menu in the square then went to find the supermarket for a few bits. On the way we passed groups of youngsters practicing for a dance competition and it was great to watch them.
Now we’re back and chilling, and hoping we’ll get some sleep. Tomorrow is a very short day so hopefully we can snooze in the afternoon.

Black October 1.0
Cloverfield October 30 1978
It was cold evening in Cloverfield. Mrs and Mr Salisbury were getting ready to head out. They had reservation in restaurant at 5:00.
Mrs Salisbury:Where's the girl!? We're going to be late!
Mr Salisbury:I only called her 10 minutes ago.
There was a knock on their door
Mr Salisbury:Here she is. Hello. You must be Suzanne. Come in
Suzanne was tall 17 year old short haircut brunette girl. She's currently studying psychology but she's also babysitting to make some money.
Suzanne:Thank you Sir. I hope its not much trouble but I brought my homework with me.
Mr Salisbury:Oh no its not a problem. The kids are sleeping in room upstairs. They have pretty bad fever.
Suzanne:Oh I won't disturb then much then.
Mrs Salisbury:Now we're going to the restaurant and we should be back by 18:00 but if we won't be back by then it means we went to the movies and we'll be back by midnight. Is that alright?
Suzanne:Yes very.
Mr Salisbury:Oh and feel at home. The fridge is full. We bought some muffins.
Mrs Salisbury:Honey come on!
Mr Salisbury:Bye.
Mr and Mrs Salisbury went out and left Suzanne alone with two sick children.
Few hours later:
Suzanne:Hi Jill. How are you?
Jill:Not good. My boyfriend is grounded.
Suzanne:Oh no. What did he do this time?
Jill:He threw eggs at principal window. What a jerk. Anyway how's the house. Did you look around?
Suzanne:Not really. I'm preparing for my exams tomorrow.
Jill:Yeah. Hey why don't i and Rose come over?
Suzanne:No i don't think that's a good idea. I don't want to get in troubles.
Jill:Oh come on it will be fun.
Suzanne:Jill all you want to do is get me in trouble and get drunk.
Jill:How can you say that?
Suzanne:Well it's true.
Jill:You know what your problem is? You never have fun. All you do is work and study. It's boring. Well I have to go. See you.
Suzanne:Bye.
Suzanne hang up the phone and returned to her work. She was upset with her friend behaviour. How can she act like this? Doesn't she know that Suzanne had already made her plans for the future? At least her exams will go well tomorrow.
2 hours later
Suzanne was reading some reports she made for her exams tomorrow when a phone ringed. She picked up
Suzanne:Hello?
Silence
Suzanne:Hello? Who is this?
Still silence
Suzanne hang up the phone. Must be Jill pranking her. She returned to her work once again. Not long form now phone ringed again. Suzanne was starting to get pretty annoyed by it but she picked up anyway.
Suzanne:Hello?
Person: Have you locked your doors and windows?
Suzanne:What? Jill are you messing with me?
Silence. The person she was talking to already hang up the phone leaving Suzanne in question of who that was and why was this person calling her? She was about to return to her work when she heard door unlocking. She felt scared. She went to check it but none was there. She felt hungry so she decided to eat something. She went to the kitchen. It was dark so she turned on the lights. She opened the fridge and saw some mashed potatoes and roasted beef.
Few minutes later
Suzanne ate her dinner and returned to reading her book. Checked if everything is locked and safe. She felt really weird and uncomfortable. She had this strange feeling that someone is watching her. The phone ringed again and this time Suzanne picked up annoyed and angry:
Suzanne:Who is this and why are you calling me!?
Person: Have you looked your doors and windows?
Suzanne:Is this some kind of joke because it's not funny!
The person hang up on her again leaving her scared and clueless. Suzanne decided that she can't take it anymore and called the police.
Lady m:Hello this emergency service. Hoe can i help you?
Suzanne:Yes hi I need to be transferred to the police.
Lady:Is this an emergency?
Suzanne:Yes I mean not really.
Lady:Alright I transfer you right away. Please wait 5 minutes.
Suzanne:Thank you.
5 minutes later:
Police officer:Hello. This is police station. How can I help you?
Suzanne:Hi I've been receiving anonymous phone calls from this guy every 10 minutes.
Police officer:Was he threatening you?
Suzanne:No. He just keeps calling me and asking me if I closed my doors and windows.
Police officer:Its probably some Creep. Don't worry about him. We get a lot of phone calls like this. Try whistling.
Suzanne:Oh alright thank you.
She hang up the phone again. Next time this person tries calling her again she will be prepared.
10 minutes later.
Suzanne was watching TV. She started to feel really tired. She could really use a nap now but she quickly snapped out of her thoughts when phone ringed.
Suzanne:Hello?
Person:Why haven't you locked your doors and windows?
Suzanne: Alright asshole what do you want?
Person:Your blood...all over me
Suzanne felt really creeped out now. This person was really trying to mess with her.
Suzanne:You don't know who I am or where I live. Mr Salisbury will take me home or Mabye even the police!
Person:You called the police!?
Suzanne:Wait i want to talk to you!
She tried talking to this person but he already hanged up. Suzanne sat on the couch and waited. Not long after phone called again.
Suzanne:LEAVE ME ALONE!!
Police officer:Suzanne this is police. We traced the phone calls. They're coming from inside the house. Just get out of the house quickly!
Suzanne had put the phone down. Now it all makes sense. She quickly rushed to the door to open them. Unfortunately they were closed. She saw lights turning on upstairs then she heard someone coming.
Suzanne:Come on! Open!
Finally she was able to open the door and she rushed out of the house fast. Luckily for her the police was already waiting outside.

Could you do a scenario where Haru Okumura is being serenaded by her male idol s/o from her penthouse (with help from Morgana of course)?
Mmm of course! I almost took the event to another location because I forgot about the penthouse part X-X I think I get too carried away at times-
Small mention, I’ve been busy with school work, essays that are longer than this could ever be, and literally crying over the ending of P5R (yes I finally finished after 150 hours x-x) I have so much to say about the crisis that bad end put me in.
ANyways, I hope you like it <3 Ps. towards the end literally imagine that scene form the book of life here-
The Blossoms that Flower in my Eye
Tumblr media
There was little he could do.
A soft breeze blew through wide panneled windows, carrying with it a flutter of moonlight; lighting up a path perpendicular to the window. Little light was visible in the high rise apartment aside from this patch. To anyone, it would appear as though the apartment was vacant, without a single flicker of movement.
Perhaps this assumed vacancy was a form of sanctity itself, submerging each room with a concealed sense of bliss. That was, at least, as it would appear to those who failed to see the boy stood in the corner disturbing the silent tranquility of his surroundings.
The boy who managed to exude the glow of the moon, stood at the corner of his room, eyes fixed to his phone. He appeared to pay little mind to the shaft in his room or rather anything, aside from his phone. Not even the sudden bleeps of a distant microwave, alerting him of his readied meal, seemed to avert his attention.
His posture was loose and his face uneasy. Sounds of his breathing bounced off the walls of the luxurious chamber, not quite ragged in rhyme but a far cry from stable. Slowly, the breeze made its way over to him as well, grazing his face and sending chills through his body, worsening his appearence. The sight was one akin to viewing a puppy yearning for a treat sitting idly on a counter, just barely out its reach. As hard as it may try, no amount of jumping, begging, or scratching would bring down its one desire.
“How can there be so little time?” He questioned, turning his attention towards the night life Shibuya view his windows displayed, away from the eye-straining light in his hands.
Y/n l/n, a teen idol made popular for his admirable deeds of kindness and overflowing charisma, as well as his outstanding performances. Teen magazines often praise his rise to fame. From humble beginnings as a simple student working 2 part time jobs to support his family, to the sudden spotlight dawned upon him the moment he put himself out there. His steadily increasing fanbase continue to vow that he will reach worldwide success in no time.
All such topics could be saved for another day as at this very moment, the boy was at a loss.
His idol life brought in a lot more work than it advertised at the door, albeit, he’d expected as much but still he’d hoped there’d come more peace of mind alongside it. On the contrary to his hopes, it instead drained out any remaining time he had previously working 2 jobs. This, of course, included the time he’d reserve every week for his girlfriend, Haru Okumura.
Haru Okumura, an angel really, never seemed to hold ire for her increasingly assiduious workaholic of a boyfriend. Not that he had a choice on that matter to begin with, it simply was what it was. Still y/n couldn’t allow his own life to be swayed and directed in trajectories that took him further away from his sole anchor in life. The only one who could steer his heart to new heights, rebuilding his world from the ground up.
As the dazzling lights of the bustling metropolis below paraded in his eyes, the - long presumed dulled - glimmer of hope was brought to the forefront of his corneas. Slowly the thread that was bound to that hope began to kindle, as though it were fireworks nurturing within his eyes, ready to ignite. His eyes quickly grew wide as he reached an epiphany. Wasting no time at all, his attention was turned right back to his phone, the electronic click, click, clicks of the virtual keyboard resounded in the room.
No longer did the apartment seem devoid of life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Softly as the sun rose into the partially starry sky, mixing beautifully as paint would on a canvas, the morning dew settled on the sakura petals of the near by sakura trees. It had been raining not long ago and this fact had left Mona with a less than pleasing morning.
“No one ever understands the pain of having their paws wet-” Mona grumbled to himself as he continued to wander the trails of a local park.
Wet paws made for a very uncomfortable walking experience as he would let you know. Although Mona doesnt know the feeling first hand, he would best compare the bitter sensation of wet paws to that of wearing wet socks. Wet fur wasn’t something he was a big fan of either yet he managed to cope. Just for today, he reminded himself.
Akira wanted some alone time with someone, presumably his partner, and Mona wasn’t willing to barge in on whatever he had planned. Besides, he was a gentlemen, it was simple curtesy to provide a fellow gentlemen some time to spend with his loved one. Still, he couldnt help the grimace that overtook his features when he realized that it had rained the night prior. If he could, he would ask for a hot shot of coffee to surpress his lack of energy for the day.
Alas, that was poisonous to his health for obvious reasons he will not make known again.
Mona’s thoughts slowly fizzled into the background of his mind as he noticed a familiar face staring at the sakura trees towering above them. It was Y/n and he seemed elated. While the sight of passerbys gleaming at the display of sakura trees was not one that was uncommon, yet something told Mona that his gaze was particularly different. He couldn’t find the best comparisons to describe that look he bore, so he decided to make haste and catch up with the boy and uncover that which his eyes held.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the morning sun rose to greet another day, Haru began her morning tea rituals as well. While she wouldn't describe it so much as a ritual, there was definitely something therapeutic about the repeated cycle done each and every morning.
The day was as lovely as the night, only lacking the stars. The sound of the city remained as tranquil as that of night as well. It was odd. At times, her mornings were on the noisy side. Whether it be from her attendants requesting things from her or that of noise from bellow her terrace view.
She supposed she was lucky that the noise was minimal today. It had been a tough week for Haru as is, with midterms falling at her feet and the thought of graduation as well. Her mind had no room for quiet as thoughts continued to bombard her.
It was then that her thoughts succumbed to the faint melody she heard coming from outside her room, seeping in through the ajar doors leading to her terrace. The melody was one she was very accustomed too. As she slowly stepped out her doors, she saw the one sight that had been missing from her life as of late, her boyfriend. He stood there, guitar in hand, watching her carefully with adortion in his eyes.
A gasp left Haru’s lips, and a small chuckle soon after. She understood that this tune she heard was y/n’s new song he’d demoed to her a couple times in the past. In full honesty, she was in awe of the sight. She had missed him for so long that his face and voice seemed akin to an angel's features. It was almost difficult to fathom that he was finally within her reach after having been missing from her grasp for so long. She nestled her head in her hands as the melody continued to echo through the street. His gaze never left her as he began to sing the lyrics previously unbeknownst to her.
It was then that the night’s stars returned to the sky as little particles began to twinkle all around her.
She stuck out her hand to catch one of these ‘stars’. As one gently landed in the palm of her hand, she realized it was a delicate sakura. There hadn't been a sakura tree near her home in ages, not since she was young at least. In her confusion, she drew her gaze away from her boyfriend and to the sky above where she saw Mona sprinkling sakura petals out towards her as though they were snowflakes falling from the sky. She gave a soft smile to Mona-chan as he returned the gesture and continued to play his part in the performance that her boyfriend was laying out, just.. for her.
Her hair fluttered in the wind as she looked at her boyfriend once more. As his song came to a close, the two stared at each other in silence, no words were needed to voice their feelings. Although he had little time for the long dates they’d spent before, y/n never lost his innate ability to create short-winded spectacles that lasted long after they vanished in the viewer’s eyes. The flowers he’d brought for Haru that day would be something that would continue to flower in her eyes as though he had given them for the first time again every time he was away.

So, Piety Fortnight achieved, EXCELLENT, which means it’s time to turn toward prep for Winter Fortnight, because the speedrun of Saturnalia-Solstice-Christmas-New Year’s with various permutations of community/coven/household/family is Too Much to not have everything possible lined up beforehand. (Srsly, once we hit the final quarter of the year, that’s it, my calendar year is booked, and there’s no time for additions. Which is why I’m not precisely sad that I’ve missed the registration deadline for December CHPN certification testing and will have to finish studying and register for the March test instead. I don’t know why I thought I’d have time to take it in December, and March will still let me get it done (fingers crossed, Fortuna please smile on me) before my next annual review. ANYWAY.)
In addition to the usual end-of-year scrummage, we’ve also got the contractors working downstairs – walls are back in, which means I can stop worrying about the cats exploring the foundation and getting lost/stuck somewhere, but also means we’ve had to pick paint colors, if we wanted to take advantage of the chance for re-painting. More on all THAT later.
Meanwhile, I’m working over Thanksgiving and into the holiday weekend, which means I had a chance at a seven-day stretch off leading into it, but I was a dumbass and said I’d go in and work a short shift on Monday because we’re going to be short-staffed. But it’s hard to say no to the kind of money we’re getting for extra shifts right now, and it’s only eight hours, so I’ll get out in the afternoon, so there’s that, but still, why tf did I think it was a good idea to break the last stretch of off days I can possibly have until January?
At any rate, queue is definitely in charge in the upcoming weeks. On the fannish tip: I’m planning a re-watch of KP after New Year’s, ostensibly in pursuit of character and plot background material for fic, so likely an uptick in KP posting then. Meanwhile, I’m likely to keep working my way through LITA in my bits of downtime. I’m thinking I’ll also watch The Eclipse after the New Year, but I’ve been saying I was going to finally watch Not Me for a year now, before KP knocked me over, and I still haven’t gotten to it, so I guess we’ll see what actually happens.
Anyway anyway, making a to-do list to see if I can keep on track, and possibly keep adding to. (ETA: Oh, wow, OK that’s a lot.)

Wednesday, 2:25 pm:
David: *they really slept in a little today because they could get breakfast until 11 at the hotel in Brixen* *they had a cozy breakfast and left for Venice shortly after 11* *they had to stop once because he had to pee and wanted to stretch his legs a little and they’re now on the road again, approximately 45 minutes from Venice* *eventually clears his throat and then says* So, maybe I already did some research yesterday when you were in the shower to see what the parking options in Venice are like… or rather just outside of Venice… I thought that we definitely have to drive Rudi to a canal somewhere to take a photo of him for Bea so that she can entertain the illusion that Rudi would wait for us there… *then shakes his head a little* But on the streets you can only park for 2 hours tops…
Matteo: *looks at David when he clears his throat and already knows that he’ll tell him something* *then lifts his eyebrows when he says that he did research* *but then grins slightly* You /secretly/ did research? Really! I’m shocked! *but then laughs* No, it’s okay… but that sounds good… we’ll go close for photos and then we’ll go back to the outskirts somewhere where we can park for longer, right? *then thinks for a second and says* Or we’ll find a place to sleep somewhere outside of the city and we’ll park there… we probably won’t be able to afford anything in Venice, anyways!
David: *also grins slightly* Well not really in secret… I was bored, you were busy… what else was I supposed to do!? *then presses his lips together and shakes his head* *tells him about his research* Well, it is a little cheaper to park outside of the city… but the way into Venice by bus or boat also costs something… And there are parking garages at the edge of Venice - they are pretty expensive but if you book them in advance then it’s a little cheaper. It usually costs 32 Euros per day, but if you book online in advance then it’s only 25. And I calculated and it’s almost the same as parking somewhere outside and taking the bus or the boat to get into Venice… so… *now feels bad, after all, for not telling Matteo immediately* *takes a deep breath and then says carefully* ...so I just reserved a spot online…? *has actually also looked up some hotels but doesn’t want to just spill that immediately and instead wants to see what Matteo thinks of his plans about the parking*
Matteo: *tilts his head when he says that he didn’t just do research but that he also booked it* *says tunelessly* You planned. *doesn’t really know what to think of that* *it does sound as if it was quite smart, but they just had agreed on something else* *but then nods briefly* Okay. Did you book one day or several? *thinks that they loosely talked about staying for longer but that they didn’t specify for how long* *wonders if David has also decided on that*
David: *slightly presses his lips together when Matteo notes so tunelessly that he made plans and nods* *then says pretty much in defense mode* Yes, but I didn’t plan to plan it, okay? I really just wanted to check because of the parking, because I figured that it will be super crowded with a lot of traffic and so on and that I’d really like to know where I have to go before I get nervous and get a dent into Rudi or something… and then I found the parking garages and I almost got sick when I realized how expensive they are and then I kept doing more research… *presses his lips together again at his question and then murmurs* For two days for now… but apparently you can extend it anytime… I just don’t know if that will cost 25 or 32 euros if you add one or several days… *glances over at Matteo* I’m sorry, okay? I don’t know why I didn’t tell you sooner or why I didn’t just ask you…
Matteo: *listens to him and almost feels sorry for his reaction* *but somehow still has this weird feeling* *then realizes why that is when he hears his last sentence* *it’s not even so much about the planning itself but about the fact that he just didn’t involve him in it* *but doesn’t want to fight and to possibly ruin it with David* *therefore shrugs one shoulder* It’s okay… we wanted to stay here longer, anyways… *hesitates but then still asks* And a hotel? Maybe we’d better look for a dump if the parking is already that expensive?
David: *looks at Matteo scrutinizingly when he says that it’s okay and then smiles slightly* *is pretty relieved that he’s not mad and relaxes again* *nods hesitantly when he asks about the hotels* Well the ones right in the middle of Venice are really unaffordable… but on the outskirts… still on the island, I mean… some of them have last minute deals… that’s actually okay. That’s comparable to the ones on the mainland. I even found two that cost less than the one in Brixen… *shrugs slightly* No clue what’s the best way to go about it… if we walk through Venice with all our luggage and ask… or if we’ll call in advance or whatever… *takes a deep breath and then suggests* Maybe we’ll take the photo of Rudi first, then go to the parking garage and then go and have a coffee somewhere and look at the hotels online? Or do you want to just go for it?
Matteo: *listens to him when he talks about hotels and realizes very well that he also must have done research* *swallows slightly and tries to suppress this stupid feeling* *presses his lips together when he asks him in the end* *bites back on the comment that he can also decide that on his own* *shrugs one shoulder* Coffee definitely sounds good… *realizes that he didn’t really answer the question* And then we can call the ones you already looked at.
David: *smiles slightly when Matteo says that coffee sounds good and that they can then make phone calls and hums in agreement* *but then looks over to him again because he sounds weird and taciturn and he somehow feels bad because Matteo looks like he’s not very happy with the situation* *thinks that he really should have done all of that with Matteo - looking for parking and hotels - but had been afraid that Matteo didn’t feel like doing that and that he would tease him for planning, even though he himself doesn’t think that he planned much - after all, he simply informed himself one day in advance and didn’t look up everything back in Germany* *still feels like the mood is a little weird right now and doesn’t like it* *is silent for a moment with Matteo and then asks quietly* Are you mad? Or… I don’t know, disappointed?
Matteo: *looks out of the window and sees the landscape fly past* *wonders if he really made David feel like he couldn’t talk about it with him* *feels overlooked and at the same time feels like it’s his own fault* *briefly considers if he would have teased him if he’d told him* *thinks that he probably would have, but then would have let him do his thing* *plans on not teasing him as much anymore* *then gets pulled out of his thoughts when he hears his question* Hm? What? Oh, no… nonsense, it’s good. This way at least we know about it.
David: *smiles slightly at Matteo’s words and hopes that it’s really okay* *reaches across the handbrake to take his hand and squeezes it slightly* *murmurs* That’s good then… *then grins slightly and says* The next time you’re in the shower I’ll sketch a little… and if I feel the urge to do some research then I’ll wait until you’re finished with your shower, okay? *then realizes that he has to leave the expressway and lets go of Matteo’s hand again because he feels safer with two hands on the steering wheel when it’s not just straight ahead* *glances at the GPS and sees that they’re supposed to arrive in 19 minutes* *gets a little nervous and excited*
Matteo: *smiles slightly when David squeezes his hand* *hears his words and his plans and slightly shrugs again* Okay… *would really prefer that, but somehow doesn’t want David to consider him that much, either* Well, or you’ll just tell me about it when once finished showering… *then sees that he has to exit and also pulls his hand back* *sees that David is getting excited and feels his heart swell at the sight* *thinks that nothing else really matters* *that he’s on holiday with his boyfriend, on an adventure holiday, which is awesome no matter what* *laughs slightly and teases him* Naaa… areyouexciteeed?
David: *smiles at Matteo’s counter proposal and nods* Exactly! *really plans on talking to him more if he has the urge to plan and do research and thinks that he just has to bear it when Matteo teases him and that they’ll surely manage to find a middle ground every now and then* *then merges into the traffic outside of Venice and tries to steal a glance at the view, which is a little difficult since he has to concentrate* *is already looking forward to getting rid of Rudi and looking at everything more closely* *then hears Matteo’s question and his tone of voice and gives him a grinning secretary’s-office-look* *then parrots him* Naaaa… areyouexciteeed?! *laughs, but then gets a little more serious again* *has to stop at a red light and uses the opportunity to smile at Matteo* I’m really excited! *quickly leans over to him and kisses him briefly*
Matteo: *laughs when he receives the secretary’s-office-look and only shakes his head when he parrots him* *but then smiles when he’s obviously and honestly excited* So am I! *quickly kisses him back and then kisses him again before he leans back again* *then they drive for another 15 minutes until David finds a really good spot by the canal where they can take good photos of Rudi* Do we have to pay here if we stay with the car? *looks around for a sign*
David: *thankfully finds a nice parking space pretty quickly from where Rudi has a nice view of Venice* *gets out and stretches a little at first* *then hears Matteo’s question and also looks around for a sign* *then murmurs with his hand on the back of his neck* Hmm… no idea… *looks at the other cars and then says* They all have a parking disc inside… *leans into the car again and also puts a parking disc inside just to be sure* *grins slightly* I don’t think that we need it if we stay with the car but better be safe… *then properly looks around for the first time and steps closer to the canal with a smile and takes a deep breath* *beams at Matteo* It smells completely different here, doesn’t it? Somehow like holidays… *then laughs quietly* Well, okay, it also stinks a little… *finds the photo secondary for now - he first wants to enjoy that they arrived*
Matteo: *was really busy looking for a sign or a ticket machine at first* *hasn’t really paid attention to their surroundings or the air* *but now stops at David’s words and takes a deep breath* *looks at the canal and has to smile automatically* Yep, stinks like holiday… *laughs slightly* *wraps an arm around David and pulls him closer* *says quietly* Benvenuti a Venezia. *presses a kiss to his cheek*
David: *glances at Matteo when he steps beside him and smiles when he also takes a deep breath* *then laughs quietly at his words and cuddles close when he pulls him closer* *also wraps an arm around him and looks onto the canal and Venice* *smiles again at his words and understands them without having to ask again* *murmurs quietly* Benvenuti… *realizes again in that moment that he’s really here - on holiday with Matteo, his boyfriend - and that he never would have believed it if someone had predicted this half a year ago* *feels a great feeling of happiness in his stomach and his heart and squeezes Matteo close* *eventually says quietly* I think we can bear it here quite well for a few days…
Matteo: *wraps his other arm around David as well* *presses a kiss to his cheek when he really speaks Italian* *smiles widely at his words* Definitely… and if the tourists annoy us then we’ll just come back here again… *gets interrupted by a group of tourists just then who are boisterously walking past them* *laughs* Or not…
David: *nods at Matteo’s words, but then also hears and sees the loud tourists walking past them and has to laugh* *repeats* Or not… *turns a little more toward him so that he can look at him and then kisses him tenderly* *then pulls away from him a little and murmurs* Quest for Venice: To find a tourist-free zone… *grins slightly and kisses him again briefly before he playfully ruffles his hair and then points his head toward the car* Come on… Rudi photoshoot and then let’s find the parking garage, have some coffee and find a hotel… *pokes Matteo’s stomach* And what does he say? He’s surely hungry again, isn’t he? *grins again and pulls away from Matteo*
Matteo: *lets himself be kissed only too gladly and holds onto David’s hip* *then laughs slightly* Challenge accepted! *is kissed again and kisses him back again* Okay, let’s go… *grins and nods when he pokes him* He definitely wouldn’t say no to some cake to go along with the coffee… *then does a photoshoot with David and Rudi in all kinds of constellations, but always very mindful that Venice can be seen*
David: *grins when Matteo accepts his challenge and is really very curious if they will really find a tourist-free spot in Venice* *strokes over Matteo’s stomach when he says that he could use some cake and smiles* I’m sure there’s some cake in it for him… *pulls his phone out of his pocket and takes a few photos of Rudi, of Matteo with Rudi, of both of them with Rudi and lets Matteo take a few photos of himself with Rudi - always with Venice in the background* *then enters the address for the parking garage into the GPS and arrives there and the allocated parking space within 10 minutes* *gets the information that they can also extend their stay online if they decide to stay for more than two days, and they leave the parking garage with their luggage and everything* *they really find a nice café close-by, at a spot directly by the canal that doesn't stink, order coffee and cake and then take a seat outside* *starts looking for cheap hotels on his phone and shows them to Matteo, but quickly loses track of where they are all situated* *runs a hand through his hair in thought* We really need a map or something…
Matteo: *has quickly finished his cake and is now sipping his second coffee* *nods when David says that they need a map* Yes, true… Venice is supposed to be full of nooks and crannies anyways… *takes a look around and then points with his finger* Over there… that looks like one of those tourist shops… I’ll quickly go over there and see if they have one… *grabs his wallet and gets up* You can write down the addresses or something… *grins slightly and then leaves the café*
David: *nods in thought when Matteo says that Venice is supposed to be full of nooks and crannies* *then follows his gaze outside, smiles and nods at his idea* Sounds good… see you in a minute… *briefly looks after him and then pulls his notebook out of his backpack* *starts writing down names, addresses, phone numbers and prices of hotels* *finishes his coffee in the meantime and a moment later the waitress approaches him in Italian* *doesn’t understand a word and shrugs a little helplessly* *then she asks him in English where he’s from and he talks a little with her before she asks if he wants to order another coffee*
Matteo: *it takes some time but then he really does find a map in the store* *asks the salesman if the map is a current one and first gets a speech about the perks of maps as opposed to Google Maps and that he rarely sells maps anymore and so on* *nods and smiles and at the end politely repeats his question* *receives a positive answer and then buys the map* *walks across the street and can already see from afar that the waitress is putting another coffee in front of David, but that she stays at the table, says something and laughs and throws her hair back* *is confused for a second and quickly goes over to the café* *hears her talking to David in broken English* *informs David in German* I’m back… *hands him the map* *sees the waitress glance at him in confusion but then keeps talking and hears her tell David when she gets off work*
David: *smiles when Matteo joins him again and takes the map* Hey! Great! Thanks! *was just about to point at the list he started but hasn’t finished yet, when the waitress talks to him again* *smiles politely at her information about when she gets off work and says that this means she has to bear two more hours of work* *then she asks him about his plans for today and he tells her that they have only just arrived and are now planning on finding a cheap hotel first thing* *gets the offer that she could help with that, but declines the offer with thanks after exchanging a look with Matteo because he doesn’t really feel like waiting for two hours before they can leave* *then she asks him if he has time tonight and realizes only when she says “the two of us” that all the times she said “you” she only meant him and not him and Matteo* *wonders if she has been trying to flirt and frowns* *then shakes his head at the waitress again and tells her that he’s tired from the drive and that he doesn’t want to go out today* *then gets asked about tomorrow or the days after that and shakes his head again* *now tells her clearly that he plans on spending the time in Venice with his “boyfriend”, pointing at Matteo while he says that, and reaches over the table to take his hand*
Matteo: *listens to the waitress and is slightly amused that David doesn’t seem to realize that she only means him and that she very intentionally leaves Matteo out* *then presses his lips together when she doesn’t give up and almost has to admire her* *then grins at her pretty broadly when David says “boyfriend” and can see that she’s embarrassed* *hears her apologize and shakes his head* *says in Italian* Va bene, ho capito… hai buon gusto. *sees her give him a small forced smile and then she quickly disappears* *then grins at David* Well, that was nice.
David: *also sees that the waitress seems to be embarrassed about it and wonders if he was supposed to realize sooner what she was getting at* *also shakes his head slightly when she apologizes and tells her that it’s no problem and that she couldn’t have known* *then hears Matteo say something in Italian and doesn’t understand a word, only sees her disappear after that* *then laughs quietly at Matteo’s words and shrugs* Well, more embarrassing somehow… was I supposed to realize sooner what she was getting at?! *then pulls his coffee toward him and finally takes a sip* *then asks* And what did you tell her that made her want to disappear so quickly?
Matteo: *laughs slightly when he says that it was rather embarrassing* I’m afraid you’ll have to get used to that… *grins slightly* Italians are simply into you… *grins again when he asks* *but also takes an appreciative sip of coffee* I told her that it’s okay and that I can understand her and that she has good taste.
David: *frowns a little embarrassed and confused* What? Why? *then hears his next words, grins a little and shakes his head* Nonsense! Just because I look a little Mediterranean or what?! *then laughs quietly when Matteo finally translates what he said to her* I see, you can understand her, huh?! *shakes his head again and then pulls the notepad toward him* *changes the topic because this is somehow embarrassing* *doesn’t want anyone other than Matteo, anyways* So, I’m not quite finished with the hotels, but if you want, then you can already mark the location of the ones I wrote down in the map and add the price next to it? Then we can see which one fits best? *pulls his phone toward him again to write down the next hotels and turns the notepad so that Matteo can also look at it*
Matteo: *shakes his head* No, because Italians simply have good taste… *then nods exaggeratedly when he asks if he can understand her* Oh yes, very much so! *then realizes that he’s embarrassed and bites back on another comment* *then nods at his orders and grabs the map from the table, which luckily isn’t one to unfold but one that says on which page it continues* *looks at the first hotel and looks for the street on the map* *but then remembers something* Shouldn’t I call first to see if they even have a room available?
David: *has to laugh when Matteo says that Italians have good taste and asks* Yourself included, huh?! *but is glad that he goes along with his change of topic and reaches for the map* *is looking up the next hotel when he hears Matteo’s question* *stops and has to grin because he didn’t even think of that* *looks up at him and says* Might not be the worst idea. Could you maybe also ask about the prices again just to make sure… who knows if the ones online are still correct. *is really grateful that Matteo does the phone calls because he’s always really unsure about how well people understand English* *writes down the next address and phone number while Matteo is on the phone*
Matteo: *grins* I have the best taste out of everyone. *has to laugh when he looks so surprised* Yees, sometimes I have good ideas… *pulls his phone from his pocket and starts calling the hotels, takes notes and also crosses out prices when the ones David found were wrong* *also asks how long it takes to walk into the city when he remembers to ask that and what else is close-by and also writes all of that down* *crosses out the ones that don’t have vacancies or where they don’t have any vacant double beds or where the price is above their limit* *looks at the list when he’s finished with the phone calls* Man, I’m done, you have to decide now.
David: *hears Matteo talk in Italian but eventually tunes it out because he doesn’t understand a word, anyways* *eventually tears off a new sheet from his notebook so that they don’t have to keep pushing it back and forth* *is done before Matteo is because all remaining hotels are considerably more expensive than what they want to spend* *sips his coffee and waits patiently* *smiles when Matteo ultimately says that he’s done and leans over to him to quickly kiss him* *murmurs quietly* Thanks… *then pulls the list closer and sees that there are six hotels left* *googles the two that are closest to the center again to look at the rooms and crosses out the one with the worse room* *repeats the whole thing with the others and eventually decides on one that’s in the Castello district* *pushes his phone to Matteo so that he can have a look and says* That’s quite the distance from here, but as far as I can tell it doesn’t cost too much to cross the Canal Grande by boat and then it’s actually okay… *looks at him and smiles slightly* What do you think?
Matteo: *smiles when he gets a kiss* You’re welcome… *then leans back and enjoys the rest of his coffee while David makes the decision* *then leans forward and nods* Yep, looks good… *then grins again and reaches for his money* I’ll go pay… I have a feeling that there’s a reason why she didn’t come back to our table again… *goes to pay and then he and David leave to go to the hotel*

Chapter 11 - Julia
word count: 1.8k words
~Crystal's POV~
I was 2 hours into my shift when the restaurant door opened, and Minho stepped in with his date. She was beautiful, just as he described her, but there was a big problem.
I knew who she was.
I dreaded the fact that I recognised her, and that she wasn't that amazing person Minho described her to be. If she were, I definitely wouldn't have had this burning in my chest and these useless thoughts in my mind that kept running around, saying Why her? Why her? I'm better.
These thoughts are useless anyway. It doesn't matter if she's nice or not, or if she didn't use to be, anyway. Minho picked her and didn't like me. He made it clear two months ago, and I should be over him already. I'm just making myself suffer.
Maybe she's changed.
Her name was Julia, and she was now even more beautiful than she was when we were kids. She's grown up to be elegant, she looked like a model, just as her mother always claimed she'll be. She must be happy now.
Minho's arm was around her waist when one of the waiters guided them to their reserved table, and I became apprehensive about having to serve them. What if she would recognise me too?
I contemplated asking one of my co-workers to take care of them in my stead, but the restaurant was small. Minho was sure to see me serve other tables. It would never work.
Besides, I promised him I'll take care of them the best I could.
I would've never invited him if I'd known Julia was his date.
Fuck.
Maybe I can fake becoming sick. I'll just go to the bathroom and force two fingers down my throat to throw up, then I'll tell my boss I feel like shit, and he'll let me go home, and I won't have to serve Minho and Julia.
"Table 8 is waiting for you." My co-worker nudged me, and I reluctantly picked up two menus and headed over to their table.
Maybe she wouldn't recognise me. It will be okay.
"Good evening, and welcome." I smiled widely, handing the two their menus. Minho smiled back at me, and Julia didn't raise her gaze, which I was grateful for. Thank God she's still spoiled rotten. "Should I bring you something to drink while you consult our menu?"
"What would you recommend?" Minho asked, and pretended not to know me, and I played along.
"For you, sir, a glass of Pinot Noir would be appropriate to start the evening with. As for your date-"
"A martini, thanks." She rudely interrupted me, still not looking my way, so I blurted out a "Sure, coming right away." and I quickly left the table.
~
~Minho's POV~
"A martini, thanks." Julia spoke hastily, interrupting Crystal. That made me frown. She hasn't even looked at her since she brought us the menus, and that was a red flag in my book – treating waiters as if they are undeserving of being looked at.
"Sure, coming right away." Crystal smiled unaffected and left, which made me wonder how many times she had to deal with rude customers in this place.
Thinking of it, this is actually the first time I see where Crystal works. The place looks nice, the atmosphere is cosy, and it fits her. I can spot the manager behind the counter instructing another waiter to do something, and I wonder if it's the same guy I spoke to all these months ago when Crystal was sick and I took care of her.
"So, Minho, I wasn't expecting you to bring me to this kind of place." Julia spoke, interrupting my train of thoughts.
I smiled and looked at her. She was stunning, I noticed that the first time we met too, and we seemed to get along okay enough through text, but somehow the way she was behaving was off-putting, and I kept glancing at Crystal. She was smiling while serving other tables, and she was beautiful.
She was so happy today when we bought the sundress, and it looked so good on her. I wish she would've worn it tonight, but I guess the restaurant is not a good enough place to wear it. Maybe I should take her out somewhere and-
"Minho?" Julia smiled, pulling me out of my head.
"Why, something wrong with the place?" I asked.
"Well, it's not that anything's wrong, it's just that... it's not really a bucket list place in Seoul, is it?" She chuckled.
"No, it's actually the first time I'm coming here too. A friend recommended it to me, so I said why not?"
"Oh, is that so?" She smiled. "What will you have to eat?"
"I'll ask the server. Did you decide on anything?"
"Yea, maybe the ravioli. Sounds good enough, I guess." She shrugged.
Crystal returned to our table with our drinks.
"May I take your order?"
"The ravioli, please." Julia grabbed her phone and opened it, still not looking at Crystal, but she just nodded and wrote it down with a smile, then she looked at me.
"What's the best thing to eat here?" I asked her, and she chuckled slightly. I knew she would normally say something like 'Why, do you value my opinion that much?' and tease me with a smirk, if it were just the two of us.
I missed her smile.
Her genuine one.
"I'd recommend the duck confit with puree, mushroom sauce and citrus reduction. It's really the best thing on the menu, if you ask me." She winked.
"Crystal?" Julia suddenly spoke, as if shocked, and looked her up and down. "Woah! Look at you!"
"Julia? Oh, I'm glad to see you're in good health. I wasn't sure if it was you, at first." Crystal spoke formally and smiled. It was one of her fake ones, that meant 'Fuck, I want to leave this place faster', or at least that's what it looked like to me, who's been analysing the way she smiles for many months now.
The whole thing was weird, though, and I was confused. Did they know each other?
How?
And why didn't Crystal say anything when she first came to our table?
"I can't believe we're meeting again like this!" Julia chuckled, and the atmosphere felt off. I decided to sit back and observe the interaction for a bit, trying to figure out what the fuck was happening.
"Right? How small is the world."
"It's been, what?! 10 years?!"
"Something like that." Crystal smiled.
"Time flies!"
"Indeed."
"And you're working here. In a restaurant." She chuckled again.
"Yes, I am." Crystal smiled. It meant 'Shut the fuck up', even if it looked polite at first. I almost chuckled.
"This is the best thing ever! Mom is going to be so happy to hear that she wasn't wrong about you! She felt guilty for a while, you know? I knew she had no reason to. I mean, you didn't accomplish anything in the end. But hey, at least you're not a stripper. That's where my bet was on. Fits your name, you know?"
"That's very funny." Crystal smiled again. "Would you like anything else besides the ravioli, or should I go add your order?"
"Come on, you're seeing me after all these years and you're not even willing to talk to me?"
"I'm sorry, Julia, but I'm at work."
"So what? You can get another of these jobs anywhere, who cares?"
"Julia," I intervened, "We should just let her work. We'd like your recommendation and the ravioli, thank you a lot." I told Crystal, who nodded and left the table quickly.
"You're so boring!" Julia chuckled.
"How do you know her?" I asked and pointed to Crystal.
"Oh, it's a long story."
"We have the whole night. Besides, I'm curious about you." I winked, making Julia blush. Flirting was the last thing on my mind, but it got her talking. I really wanted to know what the heck that rude interaction between her and Crystal has been about.
"My family was obsessed with this idea of adopting a child. They saw a movie or something. Anyways, they found Crystal at one of the orphanages they supported, and she was this really beautiful, smart kid, so they decided to foster her and see if she would fit in."
"Wow, that's great." I said with a fake smile. I didn't know Crystal grew up in an orphanage, and with how they interacted, and knowing that she currently has no one, I could guess how the whole fostering thing went. "So, what happened?"
"She was nothing special and didn't fit in, so we sent her back." Julia shrugged and sipped on her glass.
We sent her back.
As if she was a dish they didn't like, not a human being.
~
We continued talking while Crystal brought us the plates. The dish she recommended to me was delicious, just as she said, and Julia's looked great as well, but she barely touched it.
"Something wrong with the food?" I smiled.
"Minho, I appreciate you taking me out, but I should pick the place next time." She laughed.
It was getting hard not to grimace. Ever since she told me about Crystal's past, I couldn't focus on anything else she was saying.
I was wrong about Julia. She wasn't nice. She was shallow and superficial and didn't have any substance to her. It was like I've been chatting with a different person up until now.
We finished eating, and as she promised me, Crystal brought us two pieces of chocolate cheesecake, which again looked heavenly.
"I hope you'll enjoy this dessert on the house, and that you had a pleasant date." Crystal smiled at us, and Julia scoffed.
"Chocolate cake? We haven't even ordered this." Julia pushed the plate away.
"No, you didn't. I just thought-"
"I no longer like chocolate, Crystal." She chuckled.
"No? Should I bring you a different type, then? We have lemon, strawberry-"
"Oh, God! I just don't want your stupid dessert. Is that so hard to grasp? Thought you were supposed to be smarter."
"Julia, that's not nice to say." I frowned. "Crystal, we're going to skip dessert, you can bring us the check. Sorry for the trouble."
"Oh. Okay." She smiled and took back the two plates, and I looked at Julia annoyed.
"Crystal?" She laughed. "So you did know her?"
"She's the person who recommended me this place." I said, this time annoyed.
"Oh, I see what it is. It's like when we were young."
"What do you mean?" I raised an eyebrow and urged Julia to continue.
"She just wants to take advantage of you, of course! She knows you'd tip her well since you were going on a date and you'd like to impress me, so she told you to come where she works. That sly girl. She was always like that, thought she was sooo clever." She laughed.
"She's not like that." I defended Crystal, but it felt like talking to a wall, as Julia just scoffed.
Crystal came back with our check, I paid and tipped her for the troubles, and then I ordered a taxi for Julia to drop her off at the hotel she was staying at.

So I was invited to this event at the main hub for my workplace, it's a few hours away. They set up a hotel, said I'd get lunch and blah blah
But let's start with the hotel because that's what I started with. I never heard what was supposed to happen with that so I just figured, I'd do whatever and get reimbursed for it since they said it was all covered. (By the way, I do not recommend that, I will do just about anything to avoid asking something.) But anyway, it's the day before I leave and my manager tells me he finally got the regional manager to set it up. Now this guy is known as the kind of guy that just sort of...makes problems. Not intentionally but he does and then other people have to clean them up. So he books a hotel in a town called Alliance. Now I thought that was just the Corp name because it said "Holiday Inn Express Alliance" so you could see how that could easily fit in. I go home that night with the paperwork, getting stuff ready to be prepared and I notice something. The reservation is made IN Alliance. It has an address and everything, I've never heard of this place before, only the town that the event is at but it turns out Alliance is right next to it.
I look and it says Alliance...NE. Nebraska. Now that's on the other side of the country for me so this man made a reservation that I almost walked into for the wrong location. This is the night before, it's not like you can change that, it says to change within 72 hours which you already know I didn't even get this information until after.
Great start. Got it all ironed out though.
The actual place is like a spiral. A toilet bowl because I'd turn right then go on for a while then turn right again and it was just getting more and more frequent until finally I got a straight stretch of road to the hotel.
Taco bell next door. Some weird sights. McDonalds with only one golden arch. Lockers U Lock "Gawrsh Sora, did ya really have to ask?" Broke A** Phone. One Hot Cookie. Drive Thru and Parties. (Those are different places BTW, they never specified what exactly the drive thru was for...)
Crying baby in the room down the hall, guys in the next room over yelling when they're right next to each other...ugh. There were two sets of curtains but the outer ones were just for show, there wasn't a bar that crosses over so there was just a thin veil. I've been in other hotels, maybe nicer, but also motels, maybe worse.
Rain was pouring in the morning but I didn't get to hear the pitter patter until I was outside. Because of that, I took my time getting there and there were people working already so they were already in the building so the only seats left were up front. Uncomfortable chairs at that and I wasn't the only to say so.
I heard there was a lunch which I got really excited about because I didn't know what to expect but it was pretty simple, noodles, green beans and ham which I can't eat ham so 2/3 and I got a donut that filled me up in the morning so I barely even felt like eating. (I don't eat much, plus I didn't take my pills AND we broke for lunch early) the things I had weren't bad though.
The content wasn't bad, they did a good job but that final quarter was a new topic and new presenter so it was kind of dreadful, they even admitted they made it complicated on purpose so that not just anybody would be able to learn it...no wonder there's a shortage in this field.
Had fun though, got a shake. My job will apparently cover everything as long as I provide it so tolls, gas mileage (50 cents a mile), dinner (which I didn't have because I got to leave at 3 or so, hence the shake but the shake still counts so I can get it for free if I want) if I wanted to go to the car wash, I could've, hotel was already covered, overall pretty swell offerings.

Through the Bible with Les Feldick LESSON 3 * PART 1 * BOOK 55 The Mark of False Teachers and Scoffers II Peter 2:9 – 3:18 Today we’ll begin with IIPeter chapter 2 verse 9. Now of course, in this chapter Peter is laying out the warnings against false teachers, and Paul does the same thing. Paul warns us over and over here in this Church Age that there are going to be false teachers coming in. "Wolves in sheep’s clothing." And these wolves are going to destroy the flocks; and Peter says the same thing, even though Peter is addressing Jewish believers - yet the warning is still the same, that the great adversary, Satan, will oppose God’s work in any shape or form. Remember, Peter has been giving us examples of how God has dealt with those who succumb to false teaching in His times of judgment. And you remember in our last program, we were referring to the flood, and we referred to the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. All right, and then we come in today at verse 9. II Peter 2:9 "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:" Come back with me to John’s Gospel because the first thing I think we’d better point out is that, all through Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, we have these two groups of people that are brought before us constantly. Not only Jew and Gentile. That, of course, is two separate categories. But the ones we’re talking about today are the just and the unjust. The saved and the lost. You’ve got them all through human history - those two divisions of people. Whether it was before the Law, whether it was during the Law, whether it was during Christ’s earthly ministry, whether it was after His ministry, or whether it’s the Apostle Paul and the Church Age; it doesn’t make one whit of difference - there are always these two classes of people - the saved and the lost; or as Jesus speaks of them here, the just and the unjust. All right, here in the Gospel of John chapter 5, He makes the same delineation that Peter does, and this is just to show how that Scripture delineates. There is that clear-cut division of the human race into two classes. Verse 28. John 5:28 "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice," In other words, everyone that has ever lived and died is in that verse. Now verse 29. John 5:29 "And shall come forth; they that have done good, (the just, the believers, the saved) unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, (the unsaved, the lost) unto the resurrection of damnation." Or condemnation. And so here you have those two categories of people – saved and lost - and they’re never going to lose their position, in whatever they are in, after dying. All right, now back to II Peter chapter 2 - Peter is saying the same thing as we look at that verse again. II Peter 2:9 "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:" He will reserve the unjust, the lost, the unbelieving world, unto the day of judgment to be punished! Now, you know the liberals don’t like that, do they? The liberals don’t like to think that we have a God Who’s going to deal with the rebellious. The liberals would like to tell us that God, in His mercy and so forth, is somehow or other going to overlook all of their evil and their lack of faith, or someday they’ll come to the place where God will spare them anyway - but there’s only one thing wrong with that kind of thinking. "That’s Not Scripture!" That’s not what the Book says. They’re going to come to their day of punishment, the day of judgment. II Peter 2:10a "But chiefly (that word ‘chiefly’ always says paramount, or the number one thing) them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government,…." Does that ring a bell lately? All you have to do is just think back a few weeks; you’ve got these people everywhere. II Peter 2:10b
"…Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities." How does another place put it? They have no compunction about calling white – black. Or calling black – white. They have no absolutes. And so they run off at the mouth with all of this stuff and do nothing but cause turmoil. Well, Peter just lays it on the line. And isn’t it amazing? Peter is back here 1,900 years ago, and you know what? The human race hasn’t changed a bit. Not one bit. Oh we may have more technology. We may get from one place to another a little faster, but personality wise – the human race has not changed a bit. II Peter 2:11 "Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord." Even the angels don’t pay them any mind because it would almost be wasted effort. II Peter 2:12a "But these…." And I can just about put most liberals around the world here - whether it’s political or religious liberals, liberals are liberals. And they have no compunction about outright lying or twisting the truth. I remember one was being interviewed on Sean Hannity’s Fox TV program and the guy was quoting Sean as having said something. Sean said, "I never said anything like that. I have never even said anything close to that. Can’t you people ever tell the truth? Do you always have to lie?" Well that’s it, see? And Peter is saying the same thing. These people cannot do anything but speak "evil of dignities." And now verse 12. Peter, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, puts them down at the level of brute beasts. Boy, that’s awful isn’t it? II Peter 2:12a "But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed...." A beast has no compunction about life and death - technically. I don’t believe that totally, because I always say an animal will do anything to spare its own life. But the lesson is, these false teachers have as much conscience about calling good things bad and bad things good as a beast. They have no moral turpitude, they have no moral anchor. II Peter 2:12b "…speak evil of the things that they understand not:...." They rattle around like ‘a BB in a tin can.’ That’s about what Peter is saying. They speak of things that they know nothing of. II Peter 2:12c "…and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;" Well, you remember when Paul was at Mars Hill? And what did all the philosophers of the day call Paul? ‘The Babbler!" The Babbler, which means he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But you know what? The truth of the matter is - he was the only one that did. And the truth of the matter is, if you go and visit Mars Hill today, there’s a big bronze plaque honoring - not the philosophers of the day, but who? Paul. And it’s the things that Paul spoke that are still part and parcel of Scripture, really. And so isn’t that typical of the world. Oh, they scoff at everything pertaining to the truth of Scripture but, yet, everything they say is nothing more than a ‘BB in a tin can.’ They just rattle at the mouth. All right, Peter knew it and by inspiration, puts it in here so plainly "And they will perish in their own corruption." Now verse 13. II Peter 2:13 "And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;" You know what these people are? Dyed in the wool hypocrites. They can talk out of both sides of their mouths. They can be whatever the occasion demands, but basically they’re false. II Peter 2:14a "Having eyes full of adultery, (see how all this fits together) and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls:…." In other words, they’re not content to live in their own filth - they’ve got to constantly recruit others to join them, see? II Peter 2:14b-15a "…beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15. Which have forsaken the right way,…." Now this is not a very pretty picture, but it’s truth.
This is where so many of these people are existing. II Peter 2:15b "…and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam (which was way back there in Numbers, remember?) the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;" Now you remember the story of Balaam? How that, as the Israelites were coming out of their wilderness experience and the Lord was bringing them around to come in from the east side across Jordan and as they were coming through Moab, the king knew that he couldn’t do anything with them militarily. There was no way he could obliterate those millions of Jews, or Israelites, coming through his part of the world - so he sends his emissaries out to the east to this false prophet Balaam for the sole purpose of bringing Balaam back and putting a curse on Israel. Because old Balak figured that if he could get Balaam to put a curse on Israel - then Israel, by virtue of their spiritual rebellion and whatever else would follow, would be destroyed by God, and then he wouldn’t have to. But it didn’t work, see? God wouldn’t let Balaam put a curse on Israel. And Balaam himself, when he saw the multitude of the Israelites, said, "I can’t do that." But he just about did anyway. And you remember what his final act was? He convinced Balak to get all the beautiful young women of Moab to entice the Jewish men and cause them to commit adultery; and thousands of them did. But it wasn’t enough to bring the destruction of Israel by a merciful God. But this is what Balaam was trying to do because he had been offered half the kingdom. In other words, he was going to do it for what? For money! Money. Just look at the world today. What people won’t do for huge chunks of money. And it’s all because of what? One word. Corruption! Corruption! All right, same way in the Spiritual world as it is in the material or the business world. So "he loved the wages of unrighteousness." In other words, he was willing to destroy Israel because of what the king had promised him if he could bring it off. II Peter 2:16 "But was rebuked for his iniquity: (that is Balaam) the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet." Now there’s a place in the Bible where the scoffer likes to scoff. Whoever heard of a donkey talking? Well, granted, ordinarily it doesn’t. But on the other hand, Jesus Himself said "that with God nothing is impossible." That’s nothing for God to make a donkey talk. Nothing! And we know from Scripture that it did. It turned its head back to old Balaam and really gave him the whole ‘what-for.’ And so he was rebuked through the donkey. II Peter 2:17a "These.…" Now who are we talking about? False teachers. These people who don’t really care how truthful they are, or how accurate they are with the Scriptures - they’ll use the Scripture, absolutely; that’s how they get people hooked. They use the Scriptures and they just feed the multitudes with their poison. One way of killing somebody without anyone knowing what was going on would be to lace their meat with arsenic, just a little at a time, and over time, the arsenic would kill them. Well that’s what false teachers do. They don’t just come right up into a pulpit and say, "Okay, I’m a false teacher. I’m going to give you a whole bunch of garbage." No. They come up into that pulpit and they’re as smooth as oil and the people fall for it. It’s not Scriptural. It’s not Biblical. Most of the time it’s half-truths. And the people are falling for it by the millions. All right, so now Peter continues then these false teachers. II Peter 2:17a "These are wells without water,…." Now for us in our day and time it doesn’t mean that much, but you see in the Middle East, a well was everything because water was scarce. All right, so now Peter by inspiration uses that very example; that these false teachers are like a water well where somebody would be all encouraged, "Oh there’s wells!" But it’d be dry. It absolutely wouldn’t give a drop to sustain their thirst. And that’s what these false teachers are. "They are wells without water."
II Peter 2:17b "…clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever." All right, now I think the clouds that Peter is talking about here are referred to in another place, maybe in Jude as "clouds without water." Now, I can remember the 1930’s as a kid on the farm up there in Iowa, and we were as dry as a bone - the dust was blowing. And a cloud would go over and my Dad would get all encouraged - maybe that could build into a thunderstorm. And then all of a sudden, poof - it’s gone. Well what was it? Total disappointment. All right, that’s what false teachers are, and I’m afraid we’re seeing it all around us today. Oh, they come on the horizon and they have all the flim-flam and everything, and they can put out their garbage, but it’s the same thing. It has nothing that will sustain the spirit - they’re like an empty or a dry well; they’re like clouds without water. All right, let’s move on. Verse 18. II Peter 2:18 "For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error." They have survived God’s judgment thus far, and they’re spewing out their false teaching. They’re spewing out all of the invitations to wealth and materialism, and if this isn’t exactly what we’re seeing today. The multitudes are following this stuff. Very few want to follow truth. But, oh, they’ll follow this false stuff like it’s the last thing going. II Peter 2:3a "And through covetousness shall they with feigned words, make merchandise of you;.…" "They make merchandise of you!" Now what does it mean to make merchandise of you? They’re going to capitalize on their subjects. And what are they after? Your money! They’re after your money. They’re making merchandise of you. After all, why do you sell merchandise? To gain the money. And that’s what these people are doing. They’re picking the pockets of the millions - making merchandise of them, and you know who they are.Well, they just fall right in line with all these things that Peter is talking about and nothing has changed even though it’s been 1,900 years. All right, now let’s move on to verse 19. II Peter 2:19a "While they promise them (what?) liberty, (oh, they can make rash promises) they themselves are the servants of (what?) corruption:.…" Now this isn’t nice language. I know it isn’t, but it’s the truth. This is the way it is. These false teachers are nothing but the servants of corruption. II Peter 2:19b "…for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage." Now I suppose here’s where people say the King James is hard to understand. Well, all it means here is that, if someone finally gets the upper hand over you and you become his slave or his servant, then he’s the master. He’s the master, you’re the servant. See? All right, and this is what Peter’s using; and so, for those people who have come under someone else’s overlordship, it’s the same one then who has been brought into bondage. All right, now verse 20. II Peter 2:20 "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning." Now, an old boy comes to mind back in Acts, chapter 8. Here Philip, you remember, goes up to Samaria and is preaching. Acts chapter 8 verse 9, and we’re going to do this as quickly as we can because this fits the description perfectly of what Peter is talking about. Acts 8:9,10 "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, (powers of Satan) and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10. To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God." No, he has the power of Satan. See how easily he deceived all these people? Acts 8:11-13 "And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
(so he’s not using the power of God, he’s using the power of Satan.) 12. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. (now watch this. This is Simon the sorcerer the false teacher) 13. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done." Providentially, through Philip. Acts 8:14-18 "Now when the Apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15. Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: [that is these that had become believers under Philip’s preaching] 16. (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 18. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money," All right, now Peter and John come and lay hands on them - and remember this is still back in the Jewish economy - this has nothing to do with you and I in the Church Age. This was all part and parcel of the Jerusalem Jewish Church. All right, then "They laid their hands on them, they received the Holy Spirit and when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostle’s hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them (what?) money." What’s on that guy’s brain? All he can think of is money. And he doesn’t care how he gets it. All right, now, when he saw what the disciples could do he thought, "Man I want this because this will generate more income." Acts 8:19-20 "Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost." (can’t you just see the guy?) 20. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money." Now, listen, isn’t that exactly what we’re seeing today? Just think, this is almost being played out again. Now verse 21. This was the true heart of this Simon. Acts 8:21-23 "Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity." Hey, the guy up in the previous verse said he had believed and been baptized. You see what I’m driving at? He went through all the motions but he never had heart-faith. He was just a professor without possessing. And again the world is full of those. And they go through all this rigmarole because of all the promises of wealth and money and health and what have you.

Day 11 - Navarrete to Najera
My phone is saying 11.9 miles today, but we’ve faffed about a bit in Najera and the walk distance was 10.6 I think.
We set off just after 7:30 as usual with full packs. It’s started to get lighter at that time, the sun was already well up, and we were once again happily assaulted by the dawn chorus.
Tumblr media
Our breakfast stop was 4 or so miles up the road in a place called Ventosa and all along the run in there were art installations, mainly large photos of the local area or people. Breakfast was the usual coffee, fresh orange juice and a pain au chocolat.
Tumblr media
We carried on walking through wine country and Jane took a photo of me in one of those daft cutouts as a pilgrim enjoying the wine. She refused to have her photo taken there, spoilsport!
Tumblr media
As we were walking we were caught up by Janita who we met over dinner in Viana. She’s in her 20’s from Germany and has been given a sabbatical to do some travelling. We walked along together passing a chap playing Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones on a guitar. The landscape opened out to the mountains either side.
Tumblr media
We stopped for a break at a bench and were joined by one of her friends, Yom from Strasbourg, who was also on a sabbatical.
The outskirts of Najera soon arrived and we said goodbye to the two youngsters.
Tumblr media
We hadn’t booked anything and hoped to stay at the Municipal Albergue but when we got there it was closed for repairs! So we found a cafe to have a lemonade and look at our options. The other side of the bridge was another albergue that I had contacted last night who told me they don’t do reservations but would be open at 2 (it was 1 by then). Starving, we bought a small roll each from a bar and sat on the grass in front of the albergue to wait, along with a few others who had the same idea. After a while we plonked our bags in a line outside the front door as more people were arriving. I had to look up what ‘queue’ was in French for a couple of ladies who hadn’t clocked the protocol (it’s ‘file’ by the way).
Anyway, bang on 2 it opened and 15 euros each later we got settled, showered and chilled. Jane has again taken the top bunk for me. It’s another quirky place with interconnecting rooms and lovely old furniture. The rooms are designated male and female this time.
I have been amusing myself today taking photos of all the different styles of Camino directional signs. Quite often you are just looking for a painted yellow arrow, and in towns the signs could be anywhere, brass shells on the floor or proper wall plaques.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a few hours rest we wandered out to the Monastery of Santa Maria la Real built out from a cave where in the 11th century the King of Najera found an altar with the Virgin Mary. It was an interesting half hour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We then went to have a glass or two of wine (1 euro 20 per glass!) and some food.
We’re now back at the hostel chilling having planned our next few days.
Tomorrow is a longer stage to Santo Domingo de la Calzada so we’re having our big bags transported again. It also looks like it might rain so the ponchos will be coming out!
