i wasn’t in the path of the total eclipse and the picture i did get did not get the entire vibe of the grey desaturated lighting but i still had a wonderful eclipse! i set out cards for Apollon and Artemis on my altar and because it finally feels like spring more than it has since the equinox, i lit some pink candles and rose incense. i also made some eclipse water to cleanse my altar with and do rituals with. i hope everyone had a good eclipse if you could see it!!
Barefoot you amble through wilds
Well-crowned with mists of the evergreen.
Flowers raise their petals in joy as you pass.
Beasts bow their heads in humility.
"Our Lady has come!"
Announce the birds chirping proudly.
"She's come!"
Accompany the whispers of the treetops
And the rustle of the woods chants your holy name.
Can’t believe I’m finally starting deity work with Artemis! She’s been in a lot of readings that have been done for me. I’m so excited for this journey!
I often forget that Artemis has a personality established in cult bc I will think of her so casually as the enlivening spirit. The goddess that is life and death and the cycle of nature and that is not good or bad but natural.
She is the soft morning dew that coats my plants and softens my grass as well as the one that causes the forest fires with her fathers lightning. She lets new growth come in as well as clearing out the old and stagnant.
She’s the one that nurses the young baby animals and human children as well as send them back to the earth to rest. She’s the enjoyer of the dance and song of young girls in the agora as well as the youthful and beautiful nymphae in the mountains with only Pan as her other witness.
Artemis, wild of heart, show me again the glory and brilliance of the untamed, the free spirit you are so famous for. Show me what exists outside the fringes of society, what is equally dangerous and lovely to see in action with my own two eyes. Help me find the ecstacy, mystery, and excitement in nature in person.
So I’ve been on a witchcraft journey for awhile now. Trying to really step in fully to my witchhood and dedicate myself completely to it. I’ve been struggling a bit for a variety of reasons but I saw the recent solar eclipse as a perfect opportunity to cement myself into my magic and my spirituality (esp bc everyone was saying that the eclipse was especially impactful to 🦀 like me!). And since the gods are so important to me I decided it was time to have a patron god of my witchcraft to help guide me.
I called out to the gods and asked for an obvious sign on who should be my patron and Artemis smacked me in the face like “here’s your sign, bitch!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
it's okay. you can be vulnerable in front of the gods. you can cry your heart out. you can be naked. you can dance like an idiot. you can scream, enraged, or break down in silence. you can be yourself, they will never ask you to hide your humanity or be ashamed of it.
Satan has his candle always tall, constantly flickering and overall pretty unavoidable. I love it honestly.
Anyway, this is just some of the things going on in my practice. I have found that Inanna-Ishtar has reached out, as well as Loki. I am still researching into it all.
I still find myself drawn to Kemeticism, I had done some readings and Hathor, Ra & even Isis came by. Hathor has really made her presence known. But, my race is on the Celtic (I don’t know which part) and Mexican side, I hesitate to work with them. Especially since I hear that Kemeticism is a closed practice, sometimes I hear it’s open. I just don’t want to step on anyone’s toes & potentially disrespect someone’s culture & beliefs.
