Statements I’ve heard recently:
"I keep getting errors from my friend's Yahoo email. Tell her to fix it!" (hint: Yahoo was refusing the person’s email because they didn’t have it set up right…the problem was not on the receiving end, but on the sending end)
"Why is MailChimp telling me to do something? What do I DOOOO?" (MailChimp was spitting out alphabet soup… read on to translate)
"MailerLite just changed everything!" (Yep. MailerLite had to release a new version in order to cope.)
As the resident geek to a herd of authors, I've heard a ton of this over the last month, combined with a lot of existential dread.

Your eyes DO NOT deceive you! Your local pirate now has a website!
I'd been kicking around the idea of setting one up for some time and I finally decided to pull the trigger to get all things AASOAF (and future works!) in one, organized place. I'll be updating links around the old blog to reflect this change especially since M&A's Scrapbook will be moving over there pretty soon.
If you've got a spare minute, I'd love for you to check it out! Most of the stuff on there is what you've seen on this blog already but there might be one or two things you haven't yet seen 😉 totally not talking about the WIPs page
Anyway, enjoy! Or don't. Do whatever you want!

It's been a minute and for once, it's not just because I was swiming in the dumpster after being down in a trash bin ☺
No, this time I was gone because I wanted to do something more with my writing and get it seen by more people. While Tumblr has helped my self-esteem (somewhat), it's obviously harder to be seen on here.
Then, it was like the universe heard me and it dropped this post to me.
So after some convincing myself to try, I attempted learning html and......... It was actually pretty fun.
All things considered, I'm no tech person, I dislike math, and cannot stand things that are too technical; but their resources broke it down in a way I could understand and I built my first website from the ground up 🕺
So, if your curious about what it looks like, you can check it out here!
And maybe don't look at it on mobile 😅
Also, obviously, I'm still new to codding so the site looks as basic as basic can be. I'm also waiting to learn javascript, so there's nothing too advanced on there either.
Regardless, I'm extremely proud of myself for sticking with this and trying it out. Physically, I haven't been so well so this is a good distraction while I get better.
But, let me tell you what you can expect to see!
More info about my stories (like how they came to be)
Personal goals for my stories
Excerpts of what I've written
Self-made covers
Character concepts
Funny tidbits about the development of my stories
I'm not finished with everything I wanna do, and some things I'll have to learn how to make, but I eventually plan to have more pages including:
An about me page
Pages for my ideas that are either dead, half-made, or ideas that are nothing more than that.
Some of my fanfictions
A hobbies and interests page
And pages for my 250k word collection of short stories: Quiet Girl
I'm excited for everything I have planned, so if you like what you see here, stop by my page and see if you like anything else!
That's all from me, thanks for reading and I hope things are okay now and they stay okay with you 🍂

(I’m in limbo waiting for a colleague to be ready for a video chat so, naturally, here I am)
I know the hellsite has weathered every storm and likely will this one as well, but I still keep thinking I should at least back up this blog to a wordpress or a dreamwidth, just to be pragmatic
the thing is though, I get overwhelmed with new settings very quickly due to neuroweird issues. like, tumblr for all its flaws is kind of great for how my brain works, because I just need to change my icon and some color preferences and boom, we’re off to the races.
both wordpress and dreamwidth seem much more involved in terms of getting things set up. I’ve tried putting together a writing wordpress a few times as a portfolio for all the job apps I have to send out soon, and I don’t know if it’s my browser being a little bitch or what, but I feel like every time I try to adjust my page appearance it tells me that I need to have a premium plan for that particular color of font or background (???) so I just give up after a bit so I don’t have to fight with it.
does anyone have any tips for someone new to either site who wants to set up a somewhat minimalist page for their writing, akin to here? or have any recommended alternatives? (I have a pillowfort, but it feels like every time I go, no one’s actually there, and I think they’re in just as dire straits currently so it wouldn’t be any more stable ig).

Website features
Working a bit on my author website, and wanting to add some things to the pages dedicated to each of my projects, but I’m not entirely certain what I should include. What would you be interested in seeing? Currently I have included blurbs, genre, and a little backstory as to how each project got started, but I’d love to make things more engaging.
The American Icarus
Ink of Destruction
These are the mobile versions of the pages for a visual reference.

Death Spiral is coming to Radish on May 7th. I wrote this book during the Olympics last year and miss writing these characters.
Blurb:
Callum O'Leary accidentally let go of his fiance's hand too early during a professional ice skating competition. The accident is the reason Callum will never do figure skating again. As the guilt of his fiance's death takes over, Callum is afraid to let anyone else into his life.
Elisia Algora is searching for a new partner for an upcoming couple's skating event. When Elisia meets Callum, her world changes as well as his. Will Elisia be able to help Callum overcome his fear of pair skating or will his world continue to be one death spiral?

Official VESSEL Website Has Launched!
I thought it would take a lot longer to get around to this, but I guess procrastinating physics assignments has its perks.
Yesterday, I decided to bite the bullet and launch my website!
This will be the central destination of all the books I plan to write within the VESSEL universe. As some of you may know, I plan on serialising these novels and after doing some research, I've decided that my own website will be the primary platform for my published work. Though, I may post on other serial-fiction sites for visibility.
Right now the webpage is bare, containing only social media links. Eventually, I plan on adding more pages with information about my works in progress. Until then, my Tumblr is still the main source of information.
I feel more professional now - as if I've stepped over another milestone in making this a legitimate career of mine. Which in turn gives me more motivation to continue working on my stories, even if that is to the detriment of my studies :,)

I've just added a cool new drop down menu to the book pages on my website that includes the
Word count and page count of each novel
The content warnings (already in the front of the book)
And, if relevant, spoiler based clarity on what exactly those warnings mean for anyone who wants more infomation
While we're here and I'm enjoying this fact, if anyone has suggestions of other things that would be good in this kind of "faq"esque section, do let me know
What's great about it being a drop down menu is that it's so opt-in. Nobody is gonna stumble across it by accident and be upset about spoilers but I can still let the people who want to access it have that access :)

I have my All Author site up! Anyone who wants to check out a modern magic sapphic romance, give Reflector a try!
Reflector has been reviewed as ‘if Netflix’s Bright and Ghostbusters had a gay daughter’, and I wish I’d thought of that as a pitch when I’d been writing it, because it’s kind of perfect. For everyone who has enjoyed my fan works and writing, I’d love it if you could visit my site and check out my book!
Cheers,
Cal

Time for a new pinned post, as the limited edition book that was for sale here has finished running and is no longer available. A huge thank you, btw, to all of those who supported me during the process.
(シ. .)シ
A few quick links: You can support me on KoFi, follow me on Facebook, visit my Author Website [disregard author website; gonna delete it soon due to wix supporting Israel], or join The Boneyard ((my personal discord server; 18+ONLY)) and chat with me there. Also, my general tumbler blog is wolven-skull ((18+ ONLY)) if you want to check that out~ ((my general blog was previously known as wolven-writer))
Thanks again for any and all support, and please remember to practice self care!
