THE BOUNTY
A Horror Podcast
Corpses. A rift between the mayor and the sheriff. A monster in the forest. For the citizens of the tourist town of Monty, it's the end of the world. Tourists have canceled their trips, and the local authorities seem powerless to whatever haunts the town. Their only hope is a bounty put out to paranormal hunters around the country. Monty was built by the Highriver State Park, and now the park may be the very thing which destroys it.

Are you a fiction podcaster? An Actual Play podcaster or video performer?
We want YOU to submit your work to Minnesota Web Fest! Late Deadline submissions are still open until 5/31.
Since I first attended NJ Web Fest in 2021, I've seen how desperately needed this kind of space for recognition, celebration, and collaboration is for AP producers and fiction podcasters, particularly on the indie level. We simply don't have the kind of opportunities to celebrate one another and build a real sense of community. And that's exactly what we're trying to build at MNWF.
Help us grow this opportunity to celebrate and recognize the work we do making this arform special.

Theres a soft orange glow coming from the light above you. Its dim but stready. Its very late at night.
No people to be seen
This seas side town gose to bed early and wakes up even earlier.
Theres no one in town but you
There is a single street that goes through town. Its a one way street. You walk down the middle of it. All the stores are close
No one is around
You move from the glow of one streetlight to another. Seen then unseen.
No one watches you
Soon you reach the ocean. You cant walk any father. You have to turn back. The street only gose one way.
Theres no one here
The steady orange glow above you changes. Turning off and on, faster and faster. Till its barely noticable. The light brighten, its glow now harsh.
The streetlight above flickers and turns blue / The streetlight above flickers and turns blue

OH TO BE AN AVERAGE FOLK
What is an Average Folk?? you may well ask
Well, here are some Average Folks:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Average Folks is a narrative podcast dramady about Terra (that neat grey-haired lady up there,) a government-assigned prophetess, who's just arriving to her new post in the territory of Vallis. She already has to deal with the local chief Logan (and his endearing but deeply dysfunctional family,) but now she also has some weird, gloopy, invisible, and belligerent creatures following her too! Are they related to the rancid vibes coming from Vallis' government, or is this a different kind of threat?
Average Folks is fully voiced and scored by a wonderful team of independent artists. Season 1 is out now, and Season 2 will begin releasing this fall! Give it a listen on all major podcasting platforms, and check us out on Instagram as well! Hit up our website for more links and information.

Happy trans visibility day!!!

Art by @vranart
For a long time we wanted to draw one of our lead characters Chanel (he/him) together with CHNT's Sydney because, like we've mentioned in one of our posts, we take a lot of inspiration from this podcast. Also because both of them are:
Fat, trans & fabulous!
A digital sketch of Chanel Boijko and Sydney Sargent, showing them from the hips up. The piece uses minimal colors: shades of blue for the background and the lineart, and pink for the lighting. Both Chanel and Sydney are looking at the viewer, Chanel making peace signs with both his hands and smiling cheerfully, and Sydney leaning on his crutches with a more relaxed smile. Chanel is a short, fat boy with freckles and shoulder-length wavy hair with bangs. He's wearing a dress with puffy sleeves and a flared skirt, heart earrings, and a simple ribbon choker. Sydney is a short, fat man with long wavy hair, with some plants and mushrooms sticking out of it. He's wearing a baggy sweater and a skirt, and several layered necklaces.

Extra, Extra! At the beginning of each episode of The Bounty, our lovely journalist takes a moment to catch us up on the latest news, or interviews some of our brave monster hunters to understand some of their mindsets about the hunt!
Now, our journalist is about to conduct their first set of interviews, but they're trying to decide who they should contact first.
(For context: there are four main groups, and at least in the early episodes, each episode focuses on one of the four groups)

IF YOU LIKED TMA PLEASE LISTEN TO HOW I DIED IT IS SO GOOD!
I just started it today and I’ve already finished season 1. It’s not perfect by any means but it is good! If you like narrative podcasts, gore, true crime, or forensics this is for you. Also there are queer characters!
Basically, it’s about a forensic pathologist (which is essentially a coroner) who can speak to ghosts. So he is talking to the ghosts of the people he is operating on. Not to mention, something weird is happening in the town it takes place, Springfield…
PLEASE give it a shot! I need people to talk about it with

Official Selections (Fiction Podcasts/Actual Play for Minnesota Web Fest 2023!
If you did not know, this year I stepped into the role of head of Podcasts & Actual Play content at Minnesota Web Fest, with a goal of spotlighting a wide range of AP podcast and video content, and fiction podcast shows.
I'm excited to announce, after months of working with almost 30 anonymous judges, we've landed on the official selections for this year's festival.
News about award announcements, screening schedules, etc. to follow. But I'm immensely proud of this lineup of incredible, moving shows, and thrilled to get to give them a spotlight at this year's festival.
