Here’s Arden (They/Them)! One of the main characters of my headworld Avian Engine that I’ve been doing revamps on since the start of last year. They are based on one of my favorite seabirds the grey-headed albatross and are a seavian racer. They also have a creature form that i will post more of :]

More character art for Nortubel's Massag-Coav chapter.
The blue cat is Holmes, whose design I struggled with and part of me leaned to looking a bit too much like Katy Kat.
Fernaanda and Feelix are the green canine ones, both with weird eye conditions.
The monkey scientist is named Barney and he definitely has a backstory of being used in an experiment as a baby.
Barney has a fish weird creature called Horatio.
Karla, Touni and Karoline are a sport themed dragon family where Karla plays basketball, Touni is a baseball coach and Karoline is just some girl that does skateboarding.
And Joolietta is a bird lady school teacher.
I did this art before doing more important level assets/design just so I could have an idea of the characters before they show up in cutscenes and all.
Same happened with Krimb-Stone but Hirdrih had less characters with more simple designs (Though I thought about adding secret levels based on certain worlds, so I could add art for those too maybe).
As for trivia:
McSherry originally had red short hair.
The Henson's (Sports dragons) could've had hair.
Henson's would all be red and have yellow eyes but I went with Touni having unique colors and Karoline being a mix of colors from her parents.

The Runaway is a z-pinch fusion torchship with a habitat module that experiences approximately 1g during engine burns, and microgravity when the ship is docked or maneuvering. The living space adapts between these two conditions, though cooking is definitely more challenging without "gravity"... The crew run The Runaway as a rapid transit vessel, taking passengers and goods in between wormhole gates throughout local space. Talita is the lead engineer, Idrisah and Gillie handle port paperwork and translation for avian and bug ferret languages, and Sirawit handles food and supplies acquisition. Bip, the ship A.I., handles the very important task of being a pest (and driving the ship around without killing everyone inside). PATREON | STORE | Runaway to the Stars

At it again, from another angle this time.
‘Old’ weapons. Or at least redundant, as a species traverses into space the new technology makes an old gun or even older sword/arrow/spear and so on useless and nearly powerless. The new weapons are ‘ray this’ and ‘beam that’ ‘plasma so and so’ .
Ofcourse this makes sense, the energy based weapons are far less wasteful and lighter, easier to carry and easier to handle. No need to sharpen weapons with a plasma blade and even then, why use close quarters weapons if you have access to stun, kill or poison rays and many more.
On top of that many civilisations prefer to forget their less then stellar past and make analog weapons obsolete. When the humans joined the council many expected them to do the same. They didn’t, production stopped yes, but interested people could still partake in lessons and the old fashioned ways were shown off in museums. Training to be part of a spaceship crew still included lessons in their old weapons as an opportunity to be prepared for going to “newer” worlds.
So with that in mind i have a few little vignettes ideas and for ease’ sake its gonna be on the same ship, the Serpentine.
Important crew:
Primoz, captain -Limoyh a four armed species-
Krag, second in command (brother of Primoz)
Kit, dokter -avian, bird like, she has feathers like a swallow-
Ortez, ASR (all species resources, human resources in space) -kiltak, insectoid species, think ants but exoskeleton-
Lugea, helmsperson (does the steering) -rock like alien-
Artex, engineer/mechanic 1 -also Kiltak-
And then our humans:
Kamari, navigator -Eritrean woman- (has cat named Sidra)
Markus, weapons expert (knows how to use them and upkeep, also shields) -Swedish man-
Petrus, mechanic/engineer 2 -Italian man-
Lilly, administrator/note keeper (learns languages for fun)-english woman-
Yes i know all of this could have also been accomplished by saying they are all from America… nope this is more fun. This is under the assumption that to get into the joint academy for space faring you need to be able to speak and write English.
Obviously there are more people on the ship but these are most important
~~~~~~~~
1. Sparring
Ortez was having a good day, the serpentine had left port and was making good progress toward their next destination on w-kl-18, referred to as deltax by it’s residents, for a routine drop off.
In port on Unity (the planet where the council resides and the universal court is) they picked up the final crew members among who a ‘team’ of humans. Pre bonded humans were supposed to be less chaos inducing and easier bonded with the rest of the crew. Ortez was rather happy the captain listened to him on this matter.
The humans had been more diverse than he expected and were currently what they called ‘settling in’. He was on his way to the rooms they had.
‘Stop it please we’ve been here less than 4 hours!’ The soft voice he recognises as Lilly’s is barely audible over the loud clanging sounds. Rounding the corner Ortez sees a terrifying scene. The two human males locked together with two sticks made of metal baring teeth at each other, with a push the olive skinned man, he remembers is called Petrus, breaks the hold and goes in low swiping at the tall mans legs making Markus fall over.
Ortez is about to intervene when without a sound the dark skinned leader of the group seemingly appears without a sound behind him and runs into the fray with a similar stick.
Whacking Petrus stick away from Markus’ throat she steps inbetween “stop it. You’re scaring our ASR. We want to make a good impression remember.” The men look right at him and both put down the sticks, Markus puts his hand up in a ‘wave’ “sorry about that, Ortez it was right? We were just sparring.’ Moving further into the room he uncurls his front two claws tapping at the metal poles “sparring with this? We usually only do body to body training, this seems rather old.” Petrus speaks up to that “ah yes those are old earth weapons, we like keeping up a bit of skill with several kinds as a side activity. Don’t worry tho, we train with blunt weapons.”
Not entirely appeased the insectoid looks to the imposing woman, who seems entirely at ease even though two people had been fighting. When she caught his eyes, she smiled that terrible toothy grin “truly don’t worry, like Petrus said they are blunt and it is a way for us to let of some steam and keep in shape. But next time we’ll do it in the training rooms… right boys?” Pinning the two men with withering stares they nodded quickly.
Ortez did not know humans released steam, but he felt right now was not the moment to go into that. Saying his goodbye he skittered to inform the captain.
This was bound to be interesting.
~~~~~~~~~~~
2. “The Roman empire”
“So you are telling me that at any given moment you could be thinking about a several thousand years old society that no longer exists and it would surprise nobody?” Artex was perplexed, when he and Petrus were working on the reactor core Lilly had wandered through and mentioned this old civilisation sparking heated debate. She thought the greeks were far more interesting but Petrus had been unmoved by her arguments. The other man speaks while pushing some buttons “well yea, the empire made great strides and amazing structures, Lilly just prefers the mythos of the greek while i enjoy the focus on millitary prowess.” Shrugging he looks up “don’t you guys have something like that?” Artex stretches his legs, all 6 of them in a wave like motion “not really, when change happened the history books were changed to make it seem like it was always that way” the human makes eye contact “wait so how do you know how to play -old civilisation- as a kid? We play fought with wooden sticks, wooden swords and branches we cut to look like guns…” that horrofied the insectoid, raised with violence like it was a normal thing.
Almost like they never left their dark ages
~~~~~~~~~~~~
3. Whats in a name (bit off topic but the idea just kinda happened)
Te very first time the humans were introduced to their new crew there was a bit of a hiccup. When Kamari introduced herself they looked up a bit confused but went further down the row. After Lilly they came back around and referred to Kamari as moon. Now Kamari recognised the strange look, they had translators that only had basic human translation, which means that her name “Kamari” which comes from Arabic and is a word for moon/soft glow of the moon, is translated fully but not as name so when they speak to her it translates out of their language to English which would be moon. This is luckily easily fixed with an update, but it was something that stil spoke of how new the human race was to the cosmos.
Her cat Sidra made them laugh as that means Star so she was the moon with her star.
(Random thought about how multiple human languages could screw with translations)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soooooo kinda had a 4th story that is pretty sad but also bad ass, but this is getting too long already
Imma write that in a new post over the coming days
Hopefully people like this, if you have prompts you’d like to see with this crew feel free to ask.

i'm a huge fan of @jayrockin's runaway to the stars universe, and i figured it was about time to make my own ocs!!
these two are roommates at a jovian university. the centaur is aul-waral (he/they), a homeplanet centaur who took a keen interest in human literature, and is currently majoring in jovian lit. the avian is ipsauwitt (she/he), a polar avian raised offplanet by his brightparent and dunparent, who chooses to reject a lot of avian cultural norms. she's majoring in structural engineering.
the best term i can think of to describe these two is life partners? sometimes their relationship is romantic, sometimes it isnt, but theyre sticking together through it all.

Carolina Parakeets, #5. Getting into the tougher stuff now.
As I’ve said, I want to use this series to talk about ways in which the Carolina Parakeet was unique. Well, there’s one aspect of this species that I think stands out particularly in the context of avian extinction.
There’s a plant called the cocklebur. Common around the world, you’ve probably met it at least once or twice, its seedpods clinging to your socks after a walk through long grass, or to a pet’s fur. (Once, this happened to an engineer, resulting in the invention of Velcro.)
To most people, the cocklebur is a mere annoyance. To farmers, however, it is a scourge. The cocklebur, you see, is highly toxic. Even an animal as large as a cow or horse may be felled if it consumes enough of the plant. Unchecked by any extant natural predator (with the exception of a few insects), careful management is required to keep pastures clear and livestock safe. Though better equipped to avoid the stuff, birds, too, are susceptible to cocklebur poisoning.
All except one.
When John James Audubon created his portrait of the Carolina Parakeet, he chose to depict the birds among the bristling branches of a cocklebur plant—what better place to pose the parrots, than nestled within the arms of one of their favorite food sources, nibbling happily on its barbed seeds.
Audubon, along with early naturalist Mark Catesby who wrote the first scientific description of the parakeet, noted also that the flesh of the birds seemed to be fatally poisonous to cats, which would quickly die after having killed and eaten a parakeet.
It’s impossible to fully calculate the toll that our domestic felines have taken on the world’s birds. Invasive on every continent to which we’ve carried them, it’s estimated that cats kill a minimum of 2 billion birds per year just in North America. These losses appear again and again in the narratives of extinction, with cats factoring into the disappearance of at least 75 species of bird in the last 300 years.
The Carolina Parakeet was not one of them.
The title of this painting is ‘The Poison of the Cocklebur’. It is gouache on 18x24 watercolor paper.

the paladin line up!!! (click for better quality)
This is a part of my voltron AU that I already did a bit of art on this here. i'll probably update my foolish design at some other time but there he is for now.
Under the cut -- my reasons for these particular characters, plus some sketched story ideas i had for them/their backstories prior to canon.
(also, yes - qtubbo tucks his jeans into his socks)
Green Paladin - Tubbo. He's green already, fantastic. Also, a nerd like Pidge and naturally curious. I considered other Create-oriented QSMPers for green lion but I think Tubbo fits the best!
Yellow Paladin - Missa. For a while I was gonna make Forever the yellow or blue paladin, but then I realised the whole cast would be wayyyyy too zany or weird. We needed a sturdy, relatable character. Someone who was scared. Someone who didn't really want to be there. Someone who would have an unlikely romance with a menacing purple rebellion-leader alien in space. I knew Missa was perfect for the job.
Blue Paladin - Etoiles. We don't know the specific qualifications for someone to be the blue paladin (thanks Lance), but there are some clear similarities between Lance and Blaytz (I know Allura doesn't really fit with the pattern towards the end of the series, but work with me here), so I sort of made up my own requirements. 1. screams with joy when they get to pilot their lion. 2. dogboy. 3. ready to throw down. (season 1 allura fits all 3 of these, but arguably not really towards s6-7-8). I kinda relate him most to Blaytz out of all the blue paladins.
Red Paladin - Roier. You KNOW it had to be Roier. Who else. Literally who else. The man is red. Ready to throw down. Trusts his instincts. Angsty backstory. Right-hand to the guy who takes the lead in most situations. Also, just in general, I have a vivid vision of qroier in the red lion's cockpit. He could totally pull it off.
Black Paladin - Cellbit. The other characters I considered for this role were bbh and philza, but in the end I liked them more with having alien roles mainly due to their backstories (BBH as an immortal soul-guide demon and Philza as an avian). I just think that Cellbit would fit this role better. He already sort of heads the Order, is associated with the colour black as well. But most of all. I think there's a lot of potential for an angst arc where he goes off on his own for some dumb self sacrificial reason I guess, or maybe because of his extremeee trust issues, and neglects his leader duties because of this. and then there's a whole lesson learned kind of thing, maybe roier brings him back, etc.
Now for some backstories:
I think Tubbo would follow Pidge's backstory and motives pretty closely, given his penchant for breaking into the federation offices and snooping around (very Pidge-like behaviour). The thing I struggled with was getting someone to be kidnapped by space aliens that Tubbo cared enough about to go searching for. I already have plans for Fred, Phil, and the eggs, and they're the main things that drive qtubbo. Also, ideally, they'd have to be somewhat older than Tubbo in order to be on the Kerberos mission in the first place. For a while, I thought about somehow having Tubbo and Pierre being connected, but they're not super close in canon, even if he would make an Excellent Sam Holt.
BUT THEN I REMEMBERED: MORNING CREW. ITS PERFECT. I don't think they'd be directly related, but Pac as Matt Holt just works so well. I think Fit and Ramon would be rebel fighters that free Pac from the Galra and they sort of fall in love that way, but Mike was on the Kerberos mission too and is still missing, and that's Pac's main motivation.
So I think the best people for the Kerberos mission crew would be Pac (technician), Mike (engineer), and Cellbit (pilot). Cellbit obviously takes Shiro's role (sans robot arm, that's Etoiles' duty later on - this AU would divert from VLD canon pretty early on). Roier never gives up on Cellbit, just like Tubbo never gives up on Pac (and Mike). Except unlike Tubbo, who has to purposely get enrolled at the Garrison as a cadet in order to get intel, Roier is already graduate from the same class as Cellbit. He KNOWS there's a coverup of some kind, but he has no way of proving it. Fortunately, an old upperclassman/ex-tutor believes in him enough that he believes in Cellbit too, and together they get to work on figuring out this mystery. When an alien pod crash lands, they know they've got to get a closer look.
Missa is an unfortunate decontamination unit first-responder who gets in the way. They can't just leave him behind to sound the alarm - he has to come with them while they rescue Cellbit! Unbeknownst to them, Tubbo has already taken out the alarms and is also on his way over. Miraculously, they all escape with their lives, and magic space lion adventures ensue.
I feel like none of them would really have any time to change into casual clothing, so they're all in uniform. Cellbit would probably still be in prisoner clothing but tbh I just didn't think of that lol. Also, I wanted to draw him in a garrison uniform that wasn't detox or combat oriented. There are so many cool garrison uniform designs out there so drawing the same one twice was kinda soul crushing lol. cant wait to show you guys their individual character sheets!!

silly AU: inspired by mumbo turning into an avian after certain s8 shenanigans, a group of hermits (wels, cub, zedaph, doc, scar, and mumbo) decide to try to shenanigans some other non avian stuff into being avians. they pick chicken eggs and use story magic and also stuff reverse engineered from the hermatrix logs of mumbo's transformation. upside: it works! downside: oh no all the eggs are beeping theyre gonna hatch like tomorrow there's 25 of them at least they can ask doc and grian what todo

(Pretty much) All my headcanons and symbolisms for my EmpiresSMP designs!
With some further detailling about some stuff under read more
Season 1
Pixl: Watchers are not some big bad evil Gods, but astral spirits watching over the worlds. As they See everything, they are often linked to the Vigil (as well as people given the gift of prophecy)
The life symbol was added after his alliance with Joey
Joel: A terracotta statue given life from the Mother Tree, he's flesh and bones (because magic), but him (and all the Mezalea habitants) returned to their statue form when Joel died of grief.
He does have other clothes to work in, but you're practically never going to see him in those.
Some other Mezalea headcanons
Jimmy: Most witches come from the swamp, and he's one of them. They specialize in potions and talismans.
Hair are important to codfolks, the act of brushing or braiding them are used in certain spells, thus why most codfolks don't have short hair.
His appearance is also more wild looking than before because of his slow transformation into a God.
The Cod Alliance gifted each other jewelries to remind and protect each others.
(Pixl and Joel's jewelries are under their clothes as necklaces)
Wizards vs Witches
Coldfolk culture and more
Some more codfolk thoughts
Tumblr media
After killing a certain amount of salmons, codfolks get a tattoo of dead salmons somewhere on their body.
Pearl: Similarly to Mythland, they see physical activities and fights as important (mostly for work but also protect themselves from ennemies).
I. don't have anything from Shrub I'm sorry I didn't watch her and I don't know her lore very well
Gem: Gem and fWhip grew up together to be wizards in the Crystal Cliffs, pressured to be perfect by their elders. Gem turned out to be naturally talented at magic, so everything rested on her shoulders.
She still keeps a lot of her strict education, but tries to make a change in the stressful wizard society.
Tumblr media
She has a ring to represent the WRA (and another for magic channeling), and lots of scars from magic experiments.
Hair and the Geminitays
Wizards vs Witches (again, but it's important for Gem and fWhip lore)
fWhip: As said in the posted linked above, fWhip failed the wizard exams (he doesn't have any magical powers) and ran away in the newly founded Grimlands. His ingenuousness made him Count of the Grimlands. The Grimlands do not do magic. They mix science, engineering and alchemy instead. Symbols similar to sigils (or those of alchemy) are often seen engraved in their creations.
Tumblr media
The deepslate corruption gave him wings, but they were not strong enough to fly so he has prosthetics to help him fly
Tumblr media
He's actually quite clumsy, and ended up with lots of scars, and a missing hand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joey: (clearer design of his crown, made to ressemble the pharmacy snake thingie)
Tumblr media
He bleaches his own hair.
He bleeds gold, and his scars are golden as well from his over use of Totems of Undying
Tumblr media
Him being an avian allowed him a easy access to the Lost Empire. He wears the Ocelot print to look a bit more like its habitants.
Also his spit has healing properties.
Sausage: Mythland and Magic
Blood sheeps are sacred, but also feared, thus the fur to protect the citizens a bit from them.
Sausage lost his eyes when sparring with fWhip when younger. fWhip made him the eye prosthesis, and Gem enchanted it. May or may not have become corrupted in the whole Xornoth thing so they did another one for him.
Tumblr media
Scott: I surprisingly do not have much for him. His cape can turn into wings. He stopped being able to do that when his ice powers showed up because they froze.
Tumblr media
Very strict haircut, elves must be tidy and proper all the time.
Lizzie: She adapted rather well to her transformation, mostly changed her clothes for better swimming. Joel jokingly made her a bracelet to replace her now too small ring "in case she grows again", but she wears it seriously.
S2 Joel has very similar clothes to her because of faint memories.
Katherine: Yeah I fucked and forgot to color her inking, she was supposed to look like this (I noticed too late and never bothered to correct it)
Tumblr media
Katherine has this whole "I want to be friends with everyone" that I associate with lambs, thus her ears and hooves. She's a fae with some weird morals.
SEASON 2
I have wayyy less for season 2, especially for the empires themselves.
fWhip: Goblins are direct descendants from the Grimlands (and a few from Crystall Cliffs), that hid underground after the explosion. They kept digging and exploring the caves until they found a place to settle. The green skin, cat like paws and eyes are from them adapting to living in caves.
Food is very important to them, they eat several times a day, and often have banquets. They also kept the Grimlands technique of blacksmithing, but adapted it for gold.
Jimmy: Yeehaw he's a cowboy. Not much to say ngl, I do headcanon him as a werewolf depending on the day.
Tumble Town heard cows, but also creepers (where do you think they get that gunpowder from!!) (headcanon from @doodleshrimpsad). Also, cats are sacred there
Pixl: He's got some magical and futuristic technology making him able to see builds and events from the past.
Got some knees problems, thus the cane. It has sigils on it that he wrote himself based of books from old times (I'm thinking they're sigils from the Cod Empire and the Grimlands)
I desperatly need to think about more about Pixandria, and how tf David (or at least a newer version of it) arrived at the Ancient City.
Joel: Yeah he got top surgery and got a cool tattoo of laurels, but he also bleeds gold and his scars are golden. God don't bow to human rules anyway.
The braid come from a habit he can't doesn't remember getting. it feels important.
Lower Stratos got a lot of rituals, prayers and offering but I haven't figured those out exactly. Just know that I associate s2 Joel with Dionysus a lot so expect similar stuff /sweats/
False: I have literally no idea what's going in her empire, and even less in her lore. The hp name put me off so. Idk. Cool clocks. She got a prosthetic leg.
Sausage: I haven't gotten to his lore part of his videos so idk his backstory. But he does have a cape that ressemble parrot wings because jungle, animals yadda yadda
Scott: He was actually due a redesign that I haven't gotten to yet so.
Tumblr media
The outfit I've drawn him in that lineup is an everyday look, while the costume is for empires meeting or exploring.
Oli: Silly bard, his hat has faling strings that reminded me of floppy bunny ears and I thought it was cute. He bleaches his hair.
Got a lot of magic in his songs, people often stops by at his Kingdom just to hear sing and dance. They're a bit hypnotic and people seem to feel better afterwards.
Katherine: That's her monster hunter clothes. She still wants to keep it cute so pink skirt it is. That would be her normal clothes (it's like reverse magical girl, her poofy dress is her everyday dress)
Tumblr media
Shelby: I do not have much for her (again), but I can link my Wizard vs Witches post again because it has my headcanons of why witches have academies now.
After all the complicated spells, she likes to do simple fashion magic. Tying a knot or a bow is to seal a spell, so she uses them a lot to do some simple protection spells on her clothes.
Pirate Joe: He's wearing lots of stolen jewelries, some may be enchanted, some may be cursed. Who knows? Not him.
The gold earring come from that belief among pirates that having a golden earrings gives you a better eyesight ( it's from a acupuncture point, and for some, wearing gold in the proper pierced place would help your eyesight).
Katherine did that braid in his hair, and Joe (like cod folks and crystal cliffs habitants), believes that braiding someone's hair means they will fall in love with you.
Gem: I'll have to link back that link about Hair and Geminitays as it got everything I got for her. She sometimes fight with Katherine about hair and its importance. My start of headcanons kinda got crushed because she's linked to hc Gem so idk what to do with her or her kingdom anymore.
Lizzie: She's got her mask to hide her cat face, but her bow is actually a charm hiding her other cat features. The mask is just to be sure.

Batman: The Animated Series - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
The Penguin
Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot was a powerful mob boss of Gotham City.  Portly and on the short side, Cobblepot always wore a tuxedo and top hat, used a monocle and long cigarette holder.  He maintained these affectations because he felt they made him appear refined and sophisticated.  Coupled with his stature and long nose, however, his outfit made him look something like a penguin; and it was from here he gained the nickname of ‘The Penguin.’  It was a nom de guerre that Cobblepopt owned with pride in that he had great love for all things avian.
Although well educated, cultured and quite clever, Cobblepot was never accepted by the social elites of Gotham.  He was peculiar and did not come from a prestigious family.  Scorned, The Penguin turned to a life of crime, rapidly moving up the ranks of the criminal underworld.  And yet he still pined to be accepted amongst high society.
The Penguin’s trademark weapons was a series of umbrellas that concealed various weapons and gadgets.  This included a machine gun umbrella, an umbrella that doubled as a sword and even an umbrella with a rotary blade engine facilitating short-term flight.
The Penguin has had multiple run-in with Batman and the Dark Knight has proven an arch foe that has thwarted nearly all of the villain’s schemes and criminal endeavors.  Unlike many of Batman’s other adversaries, The Penguin has never been deemed insane.  When arrested, he was sent to Stonegate Penitentiary as opposed to Arkham Asylum.
Actor Paul Williams provided the voice for The Penguin, with the villain first appearing in the twentieth episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘I’ve Got Batman In My Basement.’

So, my boss came to me and asked for a velociraptor-free workplace sign, probably because my brand of faggotry came with passable design skills. Unfortunately, he did not realize it also came with (probable) autism, a deep appreciation for avian animals, and a love of farce.
I did put in alt text, but also transcription under cut
Dear management: We would like to put forth a formal complaint about this speciesist anti-velociraptor policy. Though the velociraptor faced harsh defamation by Crichton et al. in the 1990 monograph, Jurassic Park, those velociraptors described by Crichton et al. were heavily genetically manipulated and placed in enclosures without sufficient stimulus for such intelligent creatures. Crichton, the primary author on this monograph, was studying the limits of genetic engineering, not the chosen species themselves. Velociraptors, being native to Mongolia, would be an invasive species if released into the wilds of Nevada (Though they may be naturalized if preyed upon by our larger native Utah raptors). However, much like housecats, when properly kept inside and cared for they can be wonderful companions. They are also roughly the size of a turkey and pose less danger to humans than your average golden retriever. Jules the Velociraptor has been an occasional guest to Reading with Rover at [REDACTED] Library when dogs and large rabbits have been unable to fill in, and she is a hit with the kids! Of course, pets are not allowed in the museum, but we firmly believe that emotional support and service dromaeosaurids (including velociraptors), ornithomimids, and troodontids should be let in with their handlers. This will help the museum to cultivate a diverse audience among individuals with disabilities. However, we should continue kicking out anyone who tries to bring in a stupid Deinonychus. Those things are jerks and stole my sandwich once. Also they keep knocking over the dollhouse. Sincerely, Museum Employees Accepting Theropods

Magpie Bridge Project/ 鹊桥工程:
Average adult height: 140 cm Average adult weight: 30 kg Magpie Bridge is the recent project of a Chinese genetics firm working with civic engineers on an idealistic layered city, where housing availability on the ground could proposedly be maximized by designing architecture with a "canopy" layer that is most accessible and easily populated by lightweight flying humans. A lot of the original inspiration for its design was taken from high density housing on the avian homeplanet, although avians were not involved in the project in any way.
For the genetics firm, Magpie Bridge was mostly a show of genetech progress-- individuals of the clade are both extremely humanoid and upright, and extremely efficient fliers. Previous versions of winged GMH often looked human at the expense of flight, or were efficient in flight at the expense of an upright humanoid body plan. The starting population of the clade was about 60 individuals, and Min was the first born of the second generation.
The city design that was intended to house the clade is still stuck in development hell, with arguments between the project leaders and government officials about land allocation causing indefinite construction delays.

The serpentine is on route between trading posts, this is currently the furthest route without proper jump point because of the static energy surrounding the dual planets castor and pollux.
Primoz is getting worried. The humans are becoming increasingly more jittery and Kamari looks like she a pinch away from punch someone, Markus has been ‘humming’ a song that annoys her greatly. Honestly the noises the tall man is making don’t seem that bad but every few minutes her eyebrows twitch which Ortez told him is a sign of frustration.
Before the captain can figure out how to keep them from doing something deathworld worthy, Lilly comes in with precariously stacked carton boxes and Petrus carrying a table. Setting the pile down the smallest human straightens out “look what i brought! Old earth puzzles! This one has a deer and this one has the old world wonders” immediately the humming stops and Markus is at the table with Petrus “oh yes Lilly you are the best! I wanna do the deer one, that is gonna be a challenge”
With the table in the corner of the bridge the tension among crew is nearly gone, as all species try to put the cut apart pictures together, Lilly brought 9 puzzles and at a certain point a competition was forming: after one of the human unit had finished a puzzle the other crew try to make it in less time. They have yet to win.
Looking at his relaxed crew Primoz grins at his brother who is trying to use all his four arms to put pieces together without much succes. Turning away from the competition he taps Lilly on her shoulder “how do you guys do it? Also why did you think to take these things with you.” Lilly looks up from her drawing (the crew bent over the table making the puzzle) “well i knew it was going to be a long trip, Kamari thinks Markus will be ‘professional’ but he can’t help himself” her soft smile when she puts air punctuation around professional makes her look much younger than she is “puzzles are something many humans enjoy, not everyone is as good at them as Markus, but he does this thing where he uses the shape of them more than colours. While he isn’t colour blind, he has real trouble with telling differences in shades. No idea why it works this well but it does, Petrus has already won three nights of free drinking on Castor from betting.” All of a sudden looking bashful Lilly ducks her head “ah eh yes sorry forget i said that we don’t bet on this at all!” Primoz just grins “nobody has broken anything this whole trip, im not going to disrupt the flow you and your unit created. Don’t worry.”
At arrival Petrus has won the whole human crew free drinks for the foreseeable future, and the crew in its entirety hooked on puzzles. While not all species see the colours the same way or understand the patterning in the pieces the feeling of putting in the correct pieces makes it such an enjoyable activity that Lilly brings new puzzles after every holiday back home.

This one was born out of the confusion my family had when we were making puzzles (jigsaws?) the pictures in pieces… this is where it becomes super clear English is not my first language. Anyway, we had two puzzles out and they were so surprised i could differentiate the positions the pieces needed to be in without context. I had to tell them that the pattern otherwise won’t make sense,
I have the same thing as Markus that colours are fine unless you put several of the same colours next to each other and call them different. This is why the deer one is super hard,

Echoes of Regret
This is a fanfic I wrote after 'The Incident' on hermitcraft season 9.
Warnings: Someone gets punched, slight panic attack.
Word count: 573
The underground hum of Redstone engines filled the cavernous chamber where Docm had toiled tirelessly on his latest project—a massive tunnel bore. But Scar and Grian had came by and he saw that they had blown it up.
"Scar! Grian! What in the world are you two doing down here?" Docm's voice echoed through the cavern, laced with frustration and anger.
Scar and Grian sheepishly walked further into the chamber, guilt written across their faces as they surveyed the damage they had caused. "We just wanted to to test out.." Scar mumbled, avoiding Docm's gaze.
Docm's temper flared at the sight of his painstaking work reduced to rubble. "You blew up my tunnel bore!" he roared, his voice reverberating off the walls.
Grian winced at the intensity of Docm's anger, his heart pounding with a familiar sense of dread. Memories of past betrayals flooded his mind, threatening to overwhelm him.
"Doc, calm down," Scar interjected, placing a hand on Docm's shoulder in an attempt to diffuse the tension.
But Docm's fury had reached a boiling point, his vision clouded by a red haze of rage. Without thinking, he lashed out, Scar jumped away fast enough not to get hit, but Docm fist connected with Grian's jaw with a sickening ‘crack’.
Pain exploded across Grian's face, but it was nothing compared to the shock of betrayal that pierced his heart. He staggered backward, the world spinning around him as he struggled to make sense of what had just happened.
Scar rushed to Grian's side, concern etched on his face as he helped Grian steady himself. "Hey, hey, it's okay," Scar murmured, his voice soothing, But Grian was unable to stop himself from yelling in fear.
Eventually Scar was able to calm him down “You’re safe now.” Scar murmured to the avian.
Tears pricked at the corners of Grian's eyes as he leaned into Scar's embrace, seeking comfort in the warmth of his friend's presence. Scar held him close, his arms a sanctuary against the pain of Doc's anger.
Meanwhile, Docm stood frozen in horror, the weight of his actions crashing down on him like a ton of bricks. Guilt gnawed at his conscience, twisting his stomach into knots as he realized the depth of his mistake. He had forgotten about what Grian had told him about his past.
"I-I'm so sorry, Grian," Docm stammered, his voice thick with remorse. "I didn't mean to... I lost control."
Grian's gaze softened as he looked up at Docm, offering a reassuring smile, but Doc saw the fear still in his eyes. "It's okay, Doc," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "We all make mistakes."
With Scar's support, Grian turned and began to make his way out of the chamber, leaving Docm alone with his thoughts. As the echoes of their footsteps faded into the distance, Docm sank to his knees, the weight of his regret crushing him like a tidal wave.
In that moment, Docm vowed to make sure that he never let his anger cloud his judgment.
Hours passed as Docm worked tirelessly to rebuild what had been destroyed, his mind consumed by thoughts of the avian he had hurt and the pain he had inflicted upon him. And as dawn broke over the horizon, casting its golden light upon the world below, Docm made a solemn promise to himself—to always strive to be better, to learn from his mistakes, and to never again let his anger drive him to such reckless actions.
