I love dune but dune manipulating fire by making him villainize descent makes me so sad.. my girl descent is trying her best, she never did anything wrong in her life ever actually
its really fucking sad man. the odds are so entirely stacked against her, she had to be careful what she said and did because flowers' position meant he could just take entire control of the kids situation whenever he wanted. she wanted to protect fire and rivers so badly, but if she fought flowers she could lose her access to them and then theyd be alone with him
this was a much larger problem after they split up and fire was gone. she wanted to protect rivers from flowers, who was repeatedly expressing reluctance to go with him, but she was afraid of flowers retorting by demanding full custody. i think ive said this before but i dont think flowers even particularly wanted rivers around. it was more something he could hold over her head, something he knew she felt threatened by and couldnt do anything about. i cant help but wonder if he gained some satisfaction in knowing that descent could tell rivers was being abused but couldnt safely stop it. see this is what i meant earlier when i was saying that he gets worse every time i write for him its so grRRRRRRRR
anyways FIRE. fire. yeah i think fire expressed missing his mom pretty often when he first got to the divide. dune felt threatened by this and wanted to assure that fire wouldnt go back to his family. how else to achieve this but to alienate fire from his family? on a surface level her logic is almost understandable; if your mother was concerned with the abuse in her home why did she never take you guys away? kids arent stupid but they are very impressionable. i dont think at the equivalent age of an 11 year old (fucking Yikes btw) that fire would have fully understood the power dynamics at play in his family. dune knew flowers was high council. she knew, at least to some extent, that the situation would have been very difficult for descent to navigate, but it suited her narrative better if she left those nuances out and instead made fire's mother out to be uncaring and inactive
i think dune did a lot of listening to fire at first, rather than guiding things. she wanted to understand the dynamics at play here before she began twisting the narrative, and she also wanted to give fire the impression that she was somebody safe to come to with his problems and feelings. the more she learned, the safer she felt twisting things
have this doodle of descent and rivers i coughed up tonight. saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad guys. the flowers effect

Been seeing talk about Orpheus and Eurydice and thinking about satosugu being like a dark version or subversion of them. Like Kenjaku forcefully bringing geto back from the dead to force gojo to look back and have a moment of weakness, of hope, even despite his better judgement and dooming him in an even more tragic way than how Orpheus was doomed (because at least it was their choice). Idk...but I feel like there could be something in thinking about the parallels and also the differences.
hello, sorry for taking so long to answer but i was kind of busy and i wanted sooo bad to sit and think properly about this wonderful concept before saying anything. (BTW THANKS FOR THIS ASK IT RUINED MY LIFE)
to get started i have to talk briefly about orpheus and establish my point of view on his act of looking back. this scene is, in some interpretations, about a lack of trust or defiance of hades' orders. i am, however, much fonder of the more popular interpretations (and the same as yours) about how he looks back not in rebellion, but in wistfulness. so thats the route im taking here. this is ironic, because even though stsg is in my brain 24/7 i've never put gojo and orpheus together, and i feel particularly dumb because whats gojo's story besides him keeping looking back again and again even though he knows he's not supposed to?
"[eurydice] now, who must die a second death / did not find fault with [orpheus], for what indeed / could he be faulted for, but his constancy?"
when it comes to the differences between those stories, what i like the most is the details of what they had to lose and gain, and how many chances they got to do so because, as you said, gojo's dooming is even more tragic than orpheus'. orpheus reward for obeying this rule was gaining eurydice back. when he looks back too soon (in most of the tellings by mistake), it's because he considers that moment the greeting of their new start, a greeting he simply couldnt wait to have in front of him. im most definitely sure that, if given another chance, orpheus wouldnt make the same error. whilst gojo, by not looking at geto, doesnt have anything to win, he only has something to avoid losing. his choice of glancing back whenever geto is there doesnt have any other meaning behind it, its just looking at him for the sake of remembering what he is grieving for. and not only that, but gojo has multiple chances to stop doing so, but he doesnt. he never goes forward. geto dies his premature death when gojo lets him go in shinjuku. then he dies the second time in jjk0, hearing something so kind that he has to ask to be cursed, he has to ask gojo to stop looking back. and now he's "back" again, to his third death, because kenjaku knew gojo would still look back. because gojo's worst fault (when it comes to geto) is his constancy. and this connects to the last point, which is the possibility of kenjaku using this against him again. my opinion is that, if gege plans to keep the coherence of gojo's arc, you're totally right and that'll surely be part of his ending. yes, the main point of his fight with sukuna (from a plot relevance perspective) is obviously weakening him before he fights kenjaku. but this, to me, is much more about laying the groundwork for a heavy and final fight, than to actually being the reason why it'll be special. gojo is a man equivalent to a deity, whose only real weakness is his heart, so if he gotta lose, it'll be through that. it'll be because no matter what he has to give up, he cant keep his eyes from going back to geto. and thats not only if he is to lose, obviously. if gojo survives, he needs closure. we need to see him freeing himself from the mourning of his lost days and make the conscious choice of keeping his head forward.
also, this is just an obs but i really hope we get to see geto at least once again, so we can have his perspective on this whole situation. as much as gojo is similar to orpheus, i can see geto being similar to eurydice. while i do think he will be furious at gojo for being captured because of him (we already saw how he thinks gojo should hate him by now), i cant help but also see him being quite understanding. in jjk0 geto gets to hear gojo expressing how important the days they were together were for him, so his view of that has changed a little now. what could geto say about gojo, but that too well he loved?

Cosmo, Wanda, I wish you could help Karkat out in his Sburb session!
CG: YOU CAN SEE ME RIGHT. CG: TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. GC: NO I CANT SEE YOU DUMBASS
dkfadslfdkjsf
CG: THAT'S BECAUSE YOU JUST TOOK A HARD DRAG OF MY LOAD GAPER WHICH FOR SOME REASON I HAVE DISCOVERED OUTSIDE ON THIS LITTLE ISLAND. GC: YOU MEAN YOUR TOILET? CG: WELL OOH LA LA. CG: EXCUSE MY DISDAIN FOR YOUR BLUE BLOODED VERNACULAR.
The weird troll terms that we’ve been seeing are considered low-brow, which means that the trolls were deliberately using the coarsest possible language to talk to the kids.
That’s hilarious, and it also means the humans, who always use the ‘proper’ terms, have the troll equivalent of upper-class accents.
GC: WHAT COLORS YOUR BLOOD? CG: WHOA NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
Speaking of class, it seems Karkat really doesn’t buy into bloodism.  There are, of course, only two possibilities here. Either Karkat’s at the very bottom of the totem pole - or, more intriguingly, he’s at the top.
This puts a whole new spin on his ‘leader’ complex. Maybe his blood is literally telling him he belongs at the top, and his mood swings are a manifestation of his attempt to fight those instincts - or maybe he wants to prove you don’t need blue blood to be a worthy leader.
GC: DONT PRETEND YOU DIDNT ENJOY GOING AROUND KILLING THINGS GC: AND THAT YOU WOULDNT ENJOY KILLING A WHOLE LOT MORE GC: PRANCING AROUND WITH YOUR LITTLE SICKLE BEING ALL ADORABLE CG: YEAH RIGHT. CG: MORE LIKE... CG: ADORABLOODTHIRSTY.
These two are actually kind of cute - but I don’t know how well-suited they are.
I feel like long-term, Terezi would just piss Karkat off too much. Plus, Karkat’s too easy to rile up. I have a hunch that Terezi wants a challenge.
GC: IM YOUR SERVER PLAYER SO PRIORITY HAS TO BE ON ME GETTING IN THE GAME GC: BEFORE I GET KILLED BY METEORS GC: IN WHICH CASE YOUD BE SCREWED IN THERE
When talking about her lusus, Terezi implied she didn’t know the world was going to end tonight. In other words, she wasn’t one of the trolls clued in to Sburb beforehand, but she’s picking it up frightfully fast.
This is in keeping with what we already knew about her - when talking to Rose, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the game’s mechanics. Seems as if she picked up that role pretty early on.
CG: WHOA WAIT, WHAT? CG: METEORS? CG: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.
Karkat, however, is still playing catch-up -  he doesn’t know the stakes yet. If he didn’t even see his meteor, then he was the first Player we’ve seen who actually entered with time to spare.
The trolls are off to a very good start - what could possibly go wrong?

HC that Saitama was very neglected since young and he doesn't really realize the severity of it until he is very sick and Genos is taking care of him and Saitama doesn't understand why Genos is taking care of him and slips out that he would have to go buy his own meds when sick and Genos is just shocked by that because why wouldnt his parents help him, and Saitama just cant answer. Throughout the days he becomes very grateful of Genos helping him and is glad he doesnt have to do this alone.
I'm so sorry i kept procrastinating on this Ive been stuck in my own brainrots and only now got back to answering asks/submissions 😭
BUT, I'm here, I've read it. And ow.
Saitama being genuinely clueless as to why Genos is helping, too. Like, it's not that kind of confusion that's just mutated insecurities, or the kind where he doesn't know why Genos would put in the effort. It's the kind where he genuinely doesn't know why it's such an issue. He doesn't understand why a 5, maybe 6, year-old little 'Tama walking half a mile to the nearest pharmacy to get cold medicine and (sometimes) painkillers using what little money he could scavenge around the house, while he was ill is such an issue. I mean, he got his medicine in the end, right? What does it matter that he struggled to walk that far back then? Or that sometimes he couldn't afford all of it, so he would get just the bare minimum? Or that, in most cases, these things happened during the winter or fall?
Of course, he doesn't tell Genos any of those stories, just mentions how it usually went. Walk to the pharmacy, get the meds, come back home. He knew the borg would have the robo-equivalent of a heart attack if he told him any of the more detailed, downright concerning tales of his med adventures. But when Genos asks why his parents never helped, he's at a genuine loss, because why would they have? It's not like it was their responsibility to take care of him like that. Besides, he was capable of doing things on his own. That's what he's always been taught (in some indirect way. His parents never told him things like that straightforwardly, so he just had to figure them out eventually).
Again, he doesn't say anything outloud. Doesn't see a need to. He doesn't say anything at all, really. Just shrugs.
Genos isn't having any of that, so for the next few days, he is smothering him in not only intense affection and care, but also in blankets and pillows. Wet towels for when his body feels to hot, his heating hands and arms (sometimes entire body) when he's feeling too cold. He makes soups and teas with a spoonful of honey in each cup (he immediately implemented them in when Saitama shared the knowledge that honey helps a lot with coughs). During the moments, sometimes even days, where Saitama was particularly delirious, he would stay right by his side, only separating to make him food, then coming back to cuddle him. He was patient with all his weird little questions or his bouts of intense clinginess.
There were times where Saitama would insist he was fine, he could do it on his own. He felt spoiled from start to finish, from catching the sickness to recovery, and it made him feel weird—useless and a burden. But Genos always assured him that he was neither.
When he recovered (a lot faster than he ever had before), he still felt weird about it. But he'd be lying if he said he didn't appreciate it all. Or that it didn't feel nice to be cared about so much.
He thanks Genos, but Genos just tells him that there was not thanks to be given. He'd help him, care for him, in a heartbeat.

LUCEMOND
hotd × harry potter au
lucerys x aemond show down but make it wizard magic
Tumblr media
There was a break — a split second of warning — before Lucerys knew he was screwed beyond all comprehension.
The look Aemond had given him after Luke's horribly timed retort sent him into near-death territory. A flicker of the wand and the roaring, billowing noise that followed that had students screaming and Luke running for the hills.
Honestly, he hadnt thought it'd get this intense this quickly.
"No dark magic in the castle-" One of the professors yelled, Baratheon perhaps, Luke hadnt really being paying attention to anyone else but Aemond trailing behind him.
In Aemond's defense, this certainly wasn't dark magic "inside" the castle anymore. Exactly the same magic they used at the entry demonstration the day prior. Just used a bit more … deliberately.
Fiendfyre. Cast so carelessly, so easily. As if it was nothing of extreme power or importance. A fiery, bulking, flame of a dragon. Soaring right for Luke and Luke alone.
Burning anything in its path.
"Come on, boy!" Aemond calls from some where above as Luke runs down the grassy green hill. Nearly missing steps and tripping with every other movement. He wasnt coordinated , nor fast , but luckily he hadnt been reached yet. Maybe it was luck or he wasnt giving himself enough credit.
Some part of him knew though that it was Aemond's doing. The immense control he had over such a strong spell, as if he used it often. All to taunt Lucerys with. Or maybe he was killing him slow, painful, and cruelly. It wouldnt be a fast death. Make a show of it — burn him in a speculate. All enemies beware.
"Show me why they call you Lord of the Tides?!" An amused cackle follows and, Luke considers himself somewhat lucky now, because he trips in time as he feels heat burn just behind his back. Rolling down the hill with a yelp. A faster pace begrudgingly helping him. Little cuts and scrapes be damned. Something snaps and nothing hurts so he assumes its his wand. Which sucks, but it isnt his bones so far that he's aware of, so he's grateful.
Lord of the Tides. That useless fucken nickname. Water magic had been his back-fault. It had taken Luke rather long to show signs of any power as a child, to the point where Rhaenyra even considered him a possible Squib at some point, although she'd never admit it. His eleventh birthday on the dot (oh, what a late bloomer he had been) he had made Uncle Lord Velaryons living room flood. Luckily, Uncle Daemon laughed it off and the rest followed.
Knowing painfully well that an Aguamenti error wouldn't help him now. The equivalent of a bucket of water or two to a house on fire.
The hits the bottom of the hill, eyes opening. He wouldn't make it to Ser Harrold's Hut in time. Best to just duck into the lake and hope for the best.
He just had to stall until then. Try not to be burned alive in the process. He might take that fate over talking to Aemond - but seeing the Fiendfyre's wings spread above him had him considering otherwise.
"Ill take the eye out myself!" He yells as loud as he can. Voice hoarse. Voicing louder in a second attempt. "I will not take a year of this torture!"
He can hear commotion, he can hear the others, in some place close but also just far enough to not matter. All he can see , all that truly matters, is Aemond fifty feety away. A huge false dragon to scale of horrific proportions. Wings spread vast behind him as if they were his own. The spell bending to his corrupt will. Some part of Lucerys hoped he was as in control of the fyre charm as he seemed to be.
If he lost any control, both be damned.
"You'll take whatever I give you." His voice is even and hard. Luke scrambles to his feet. Covered in dirt and green. "You need me to what you gave me?"
An ego problem? A chip on the shoulder? A villain origin story? A need of an attitude adjustment …. For once Luke keeps his mouth shut from saying any of these things.
"Im sorry," He says quietenough that he's not even sure Aemond truly hears him. It strikes him then that maybe, just maybe , he's never apologized for it.
"A bit too late for that," Aemond says as his free hand, the right one not wielding the wand, goes to his head. That eye patch he always has on it and peals it back in a quick, swift movement.
Luke ceases his walking for a second. Movements stilled in maybe fear or something else he can't quite place.
His eye - where he expects a gaping hole in his skull or some horrific sight - is a jewel. The scar on ethier side bending his ivory flesh into something macabre but beautiful. Even from way down here the sight took the air out of his lungs.
A sapphire eye gleaming in the sunlight, starring down at him with a glare that can only mean one thing.
'He wants me dead. He wants me in pain and Aemond Targeryn makes damn sure to get what he wants.'
Emotions rolled through Lucerys like bits of glass in a kaleidoscope. Looking and finally seeing what he's done. Who he's done it too. How this all ends. Nerves in his stomach unsettle and twist. ( Or maybe that was just the eggs from breakfast being scrambled from tumbling down a hill so fast? Who could really tell.)
Either way. He felt somewhere crossed between becoming sick and screaming every curse word he's learned so far in his young, stupid life.
"An eye for an eye? Really. Fine." He says glaring back at the elder Targaryen. "How do you want it done? Like this."
The smile on Aemond's face doesnt help dimiss anything racking through him. "You think its as simple as that?" He beings walking down, dragon behind him, wand at his side. Still unbelievably controlled. "All the years of torture and pain? Of mocking-" He spits the word out. "No, I always pictured you screaming beneath me. So loud everyone can hear and know what I , Aemond Targaryen, have done to you."
Lucerys can hear the ponds some where behind him, feel the sun beating down on his skin, and considers it may be a nice day to die.
"-You'll walk around with far more shame than a simple mark could suffice, princess." Another term of insult. A way for the almighty Aemond to call Lucerys spoiled, as he did when they were young.
It sparks something. Something deep and petty, in that moment deciding he wont let Aemond humiliate him like this. Death or none. He wouldn't be made a speculate out of without fighting.
"Listen," Sincere. "I am apologetic towards the eye. Maiming isn't my go to but you were torturing Jace. Im not the best with magic or control and dueling—"
"So resorting to physical violence is your reasoning?"
"... To be fair I think you wouldve grown up a  scary murderous virgin even without the eye trauma."
It's the half second of shock and hate that flickers over Aemonds features that Lucerys takes advantage of. A half second that he's able to return the favor.
Wandless magic, the broken twig in his back pocket useless. Noting his surroundings and all the focus he's gathered with Aemond's villain speech, to do what he can. He's not going down without a fight - he wont be scared like he always is. Not to this psychopath at least.
Creating his own dragon, small in comparison, but made out of the lake water. It surroundings him in tiny tides until it is all that he sees. Surging forward and going towards that fiery beast.
Aemond's taken back and thus so soaked. Covered head to toe as magical elemental beasts collide and his flaming dragon is doused by Lucery's smaller creation. It lets out a roar and the wand tumbles in Aemond's had as he's shoved with the waves. Losing control of his fyre charm and therefore the dragon as well.
"No!" He yells but its too late. A useless scramble forward to find what he's lost amongst the grass, as the fiendfyre soars above to Lucerys.
The tiny water beast had distinguished some of the flames momentarily. He considers that at least something. One last mark before he dies.
If anything, however, this action had pissed it off. Growing bigger, larger. Until it meets with the minute lake-beast and swallows it entirely. Creating wide puffs of steam all over the area until both boys are choking on it.
Killing Luke's creation as it aims for him, uncontrolled and deadly, its jaws open and flame-teeth barred. Lucerys accepts his fate with eyes wide open. Fear striking through him then peace. There are worse ways to die.
He hears someone scream his name but its lost among the roar. A ringing silence with his fate accepted.
Then someone elses voice mingles through and the beast is gone. Not even realizing he's closed his eyes at all until he opens them. Heat lingers on his face and smoke fumes through his lungs. Charred grass surrounding everywhere he stands and possible hair burned off from his arms. A lack of eyebrows also wouldn't be a shock — but that wasnt the concern right now.
Something is burning, maybe his flesh. Maybe someone elses. It all clogs his vision and he coughs thickly. Unable to get any air in as his vision follows and he feels his legs give out. Falling back till he hits his head against the burned earth. Everything is sore … is he really even alive?
Aemond's face appears above his. Panicked and dripping onto him, hair sticking to the sides of his face and eye alarmed. Taking in Lucerys easing-into-unconciousness state of mind. Black dots blur and not many thoughts pass him but one clear one:
'I cant be dead. Aemonds here. Either that : or Im in hell'
The Targaryen's mouth moves but no words come out. Ears ring in an uncomfortable form of silence. Headmistress Rhaenys comes into view soon enough and Lucerys blacks out.
Oddly, wishing he was dead.

idk you very well so i ask your opinion on anything ur particularly opinionated about and care to share :))
ooh okay okay um i think heathers west end is a million times better than heathers bway and here are my reasons
1. blue vs i say no. i would much rather see veronica be able to stand up for herself while being harrassed than begging her BRAND NEW friends for help like?? blue is so ooc for veronica. she wouldnt just be sitting there and listening to all the ways she makes kurt and rams balls blue. she would be looking for a way out, even if it means throwing them in a cowpat.
2. the i am damaged lyric changes. oh my god west end jd i miss you. the emphasis of the song is on veronica (i am damaged / but youre different / youre the one we ought spare) rather than jd wallowing in self pity (i am damaged / far too damaged / but youre not beyond repair). jd hates himself and he hates every dumb town his dad moves to; but veronica? he loves veronica. too much. he knows hes making her worse, he knows that she deserves better than him. he also puts an emphasis on westerburg (god knows why you want to save them / but you beat me fair and square) because he doesnt understand why veronica loves these people? these people bullied her and tried to rape her, but those people are all the friends she has. jd has never felt attachment to a school, veronica has never known anything but westerburg.
3. heather dukes characterisation. we all knew it was coming dont lie. in the bway version, duke takes chandlers place but doesnt really do anything outside of shine a light reprise. never shut up again is a godsend for the west end production. it shows how far duke is willing to go to keep her spot as queen. its the west end equivalent to the baby picture from the movie. also having duke be black is such a GOOD character choice i cant believe no one ever thought of it.
so umm. yeah. i love heathers

Hi friend!! Sorry for disappearing a bit, I’ve really missed you! With finals and all, I’ve hardly had any spare time to check tumblr. I thought I’d tell you about the whumpy dream I just had, though!
Weirdly enough it started out about a penny museum, because dreams, right? But as things evolved, there was this society in my dream that may have been aliens or something? I think they were human though. They were just big on manners and on everyone acting like them :). And so there was this group of chaotic little shits (TM) who were sorta like a superhero group. And they would just break into the society’s place and publicly do things that go against The Rules(TM) just because it’s fun. Sometimes they would break things too. Anyways, one of the people in the silly little rebel group got captured and whumped!!! So we will call them whumpee!!!
Whumpee was the youngest in the group and I think had something to prove, so they went against the plan in order to show off. Except it screwed him over because he ended up getting caught! Anyways, society people came into whatever room they kept him in (it was an actual room with a bed) and he had to be restrained because of course they couldn’t trust him. And they would ask whumpee to say certain phrases or act politely, and of course whumpee was like “no, fuck you” and tried to scream at them and fight them and stuff. So they gave him the weird dream equivalent of a shock collar! I’m just gonna refer to it as a shock collar because I don’t want to explain the dream equivalent.
So anyways, whumpee wakes up, with a shock collar, and promptly freaks out. He’s like “what the fuck did you do to me????” And tries to tug off the collar and stuff. One of the people training him asked him to do a Simple Task nicely, and whumpee was like “what the fuck??? No, fuck you!” and then got electrocuted! So whumpee of course regretted this because it was The Most Pain They Have Felt Ever. And whumper asks him to apologize for his behavior and whumpee does, but isn’t happy about it- but all he can think of is not having to feel the shock collar again. Anyways, flash forward to a different scene, whumpee failed to escape. So whumper turns on the shock collar and tells them to try to emotionally regulate, and then to say “I’m sorry, I was wrong” which is really hard to do but whumpee almost does it!!! So whumper accepts that. Because hey, whumpee is actually trying to be good now! Anyways flash forward, whumpee is actually mostly trained! They are trying their best to be good, but they accidentally ate some food that was Specifically Designated To Never Be Eaten because they thought it was just another snack. When whumpee realizes, he goes to the trainer that’s still occasionally watching over him and tell them he made a mistake really sadly. And whumper is matter of factly like “yeah, you did. We’ll have to punish you for your mistake, but I’ll go easier on you because you told me about it instead of hiding it from me” and then uhh my dream ended I think??? I had to wake up for school. ~🐸
OMGGGGGGGGG AMAZING DREAM. i hope exams went well :D lemme share my whumpy dream in exchange for urs.
tw murder, blood, vampires and broken bones
mine took place in a haunted mansion kinda thing, and there were a group of us trying to make it out alive before sundown. but the place was like a whole maze and it was rly dark. but we knew that if we didnt make it out in time, we would have no chance of running, because the vampires would come.
and then in another scene, i was the vampire (or at least saw things from their perspective), and i killed someone. blood was pooling everywhere. i ran away from the body and acted like i was also A Victim so that the group wouldnt suspect that i was the vampire amongst them, and they believed me.
now the reason i killed that person was tactical: by killing them, i secured my own immortality somehow, but only if i could survive until sundown. which meant i either had to kill the entire rest of the group too or somehow get them to leave me alone if they found out i was a vampire.
so i did smth super bold. i outed myself as the vampire close to sundown. everyone got scared and they wanted to jump me but i was like ok. listen. i could take on All of u. However. i would not survive being taken on by [some powerful vampire hunter who was already on their way to save the group and wouldve been very mad if they found me standing over their corpses]. so my deal is. i'll let u go! i only needed to kill that one person to secure my immortality.
the group hesitantly agreed and i led them outside. but then The Powerful Person showed up. and i was like HOLY SHIT NO ITS ALMOST SUNDOWN I CANT LOSE NOW. so i ran and ran but he was catching up and in my last effort to escape i jumped out a second storey window. guy jumped after me. they somehow landed on their feet without any injuries but i literally broke both my legs and was trying to crawl away from them but i was so slow.
they were already raising their sword when i woke up...

okok this is not going to be my most coherent post and i KNOW how armchair diagnosing fictional characters sounds like but, ive been working on this leona fic recently and it just makes me kind of think harder about his character??? if youve been following me for a while you know i have beef with how they portrayed him in ch 2 and everything and how easily it seems the conflict is solved even though IT WASNT SOLVED AT ALL!
i dont like leona as a Person either like if i knew him irl i would try to beat his ass, genuinely, but i also watched lion king five billion times as a child and i thought scar was the shit, and im the kind of fandom person who always fixates on the idea of rewriting things, so i have been. Thinking. doesnt it kind of feel like leona has like?? clinical depression? i dont think it justifies any of his actions, not in the slightest, but i feel like i can get a much better understanding of his emotions under this sort of theory if it makes sense
he did have that “upswing” in chapter 2 when he tried to come up with that plan to cheat in the tournament, but he gave up on it so quickly, and the way he does clearly feel he needs to cheat to win showcases a very clear lack of self esteem in him. yes he has a superiority complex, but it comes with an inferiority one too, and hes constantly plagued with this thought of how pointless everything is and how “life is unfair”. like in his head the feeling of superiority from his own talent, skill and potential, WHICH REALLY IS A LOT, is just constantly fighting this everpresent lethargy from how nothing he does seems to get him any closer to his goals. that hamster wheel sort of feeling that looks very characteristic of a specific kind of depression case to me
again. doesnt justify his behavior at all. he shouldve gotten so many more consequences from doing the magical equivalent of mass doping and Trying To Kill Ruggie but also thinking about the sort of Situation his head is in plus that tendency towards the grandiose and lack of consequence sight that comes from his privilege in his society. yeah his actions make sense.
and in a way it makes me sort of? sad for him? because hes extremely talented and intelligent, hes clearly powerful enough to counter riddles unique magic, and riddle is said to be the top student in nrc. he has so much potential but hes so beaten down from the things his life branded into his brain that he doesnt really see it.
logically i think he knows that theres more to life than becoming king. again hes very intelligent, but with it having been his dream, him having believed he had the potential required for it (and maybe even actually being better than farena? we dont know enough about farena to be able to tell that though) and then having that torn away from him from whats implied to be a young age, plus the treatment from everyone in the afterglow savannah court. like that clearly did drill some emotional instability in his head. no stable guy whos aware of his potential would have the sort of mindset he does. its illogical he focuses on how he couldnt become king like this, unable to move on from that and the hit his self esteem took from it.
if he had been mentally healthy, being someone whos clearly a very clever and determined type, he would have found another way to make use of his own skills. who knows why exactly he wanted to become king, maybe he did believe in making things better for his country, maybe farena isnt as good as he seems, if it has been a longtime dream of his i have a hard time believing he just wanted it for the sake of wanting it, kids dont really crave power for the sake of itself after all and do tend towards being more empathetic and hopeful than older people, from a psychological standpoint. and he wouldnt have been groomed to want that position, since its clearly established that as the second son, he would only become king if farena died
with his emotional state too, i cant help but wonder the details of how his parents treated him. we definitely wont know that in canon but imo these major depression traits line up with a case of neglect. maybe he doesnt even recognize it as such, he strikes me as the kind of guy who would look back at his childhood attempts at seeking affection as weakness, so maybe he thinks his parents would be justified in not really fulfilling his needs especially as that abyss in his self esteem started forming from his dream being slowly torn down.
HOWEVER, AND THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT OF THIS IMPROMPTU ESSAY: he is still a cunt and i still hate him. thanks for reading like and subscribe

Hi, may I get a yautja finding their S/O crying quietly? They usually hide away when they feel down because they don't want to be a burden, so it's the first time he sees his human mate like that. Thank you <3
yo?? this ask?? im love.
so i decided to try something new :)) i am doing hcs and a mini fic underneath based off my hcs
future update: this is not as short as i thought it'd be ☝
masterlist
Tumblr media
- So your mate comes home from a hunting trip, and they can just sense the overwhelming emotion you are feeling
- honestly it scared them, they lowkey thought you were hurt, or that someone had caused these emotions
- when they find you they instantly start purring to try and calm you down
- obviously they've never seen you cry so they had no idea what to do
- honestly their first thought was 'my mate is sad? make them feel better immediately, prove you're a worthy mate'
- cant blame them on the wanting to be worthy part, thats litetally their entire culture, but they do also want to help you, you're their beloved ooman after all <3
- obviously because they dont know what to do, so they did what they knew best, cuddles and purring
- pulling you close, they purr louder. while unexpected, it is comforting.
- they opted to wait to ask questions until after you calmed down
Its been a long a difficult day and your mate had been out on a hunting trip. Normally they'd be here to help be a form of a distraction, even if they didnt know, but having had 2 weeks of built up stress and sadness with no distraction, today was the day you just broke.
The only reason you even let the tears start falling was because you knew your yautja wasnt home, and most likely wouldnt be for another week or two. Or so you thought.
Suddenly the sound of the front door opening caught your attention, instantly you put your hand over your mouth to make your crying quieter, but it seemed that the noise want the issue as your mate ran into the room, their.eyes instantly landing on your curled up form.
Nearly as soon as they saw you, loud purrs came out of them as they walked closer to you. They pull you into a hug, with you practically on their lap. Once in your mates arms, their purring intensifies.
Careful of their claws, they start to pet you in a loving manner. Once you calm down, thats when the questions start rolling.
"what happened? Who did this to you? youre obviously upset, so dont say no one." and many many more.
Placing a hand on the yautjas equivalent of a cheek you smile up at them.
"its nothing, really. Ive just been stressed, and normally i have you here ro distract me from it, but while you were gone it just built up, ao I guess i just broke." sighing you cuddle closer ro your much larger mate.
They began purring again as they feel you start to tense up again. Finally after moment of purring and cuddling, you're finally calmed down enough to go back to your normal routine. You kiss your yautja on their mandibles and smile up at them. the two of you heafing to the kitchen to make some food and go back to relaxing.

crim i have come to beg your talent for analysis
what are your thoughts on nicky and joe on the kill floor? because i can’t articulate it any better than THE SYNERGY THEY HOLD
its cool bc The Synergy™ is something you see with all of the immortals (gina calls it 'finishing each other sentences' when she talks abt the tog squad and fight scenes) but its especially potent with joe&nicky, which makes sense bc it seems like they spend more time together than the others do usually. (i imagine andy and quynh would be even more so, but we only have like 5 seconds of footage of them fighting together.)
[ive talked before (1, 2) abt how charming it is that joe jumps in front of nicky in the beginning of the fight so i wont go into that.]
but anyways the tog squad does these cute little teamwork kills, the murder equivalent of finishing each other's sentences (like gina says) one character disables an enemy and the other kills the enemy. you can see book and andy do one here. andy axes this guy, grabs him around the neck, then lets go of him a minute later so book can shoot him
Tumblr media
what's cute is (if you dont count nicky sniping those 2 guys at once or joe slicing those other two guys with his sword while theyre outside) that joe and nicky Only do teamwork kills. there are 16 mercenaries in the kill floor and:
andy - kills 8 herself (3 with gun, 5 with axe) + 1 teamwork kill with book (pictured above, andy disarms, booker kills)
booker - kills 2 himself + 1 teamwork kill with andy
joe&nicky- joe kills 2 and disarms 3 / nicky kills 3 and disarms 2
1st guy: joe shoots him as he runs to nicky
2nd guy: joe smacks his gun, nicky shoots his thigh, joe shoots him with shotgun and drops it. dead
1st guy: nicky pulls his sword and finishes him off. dead
3rd guy: joe pulls his sword after dropping his shotgun and slices him under the arm
4th guy: nicky cuts him in the thigh
3rd guy: nicky cuts him across the chest. dead
5th guy: joe cuts him across the chest, nicky shoots the gun out of his hand then stabs him. dead
4th guy: joe goes back and kills him while nicky kills the 5th guy. dead
(also its worth pointing out that joe stops attacking 5th guy, does a 180, and attacks 4th guy, who nicky left hanging out behind him. i dont know how joe knew nicky left a guy there, maybe it was the force)
Tumblr media
(okay also i said i wouldnt bring up the joe-running-in-front-of-nicky thing but i lied. another thing thats charming abt that bit is that its not actually in the movie- you can only see it in bts footage. HOWEVER after the kill floor fight when you see copley review the footage, what you see on his screen is just s i x different angles of the exact moment when joe runs towards nicky. methinks someone on the crew liked that moment. )

The existent of tanjiro means that theres always his alter ego tanjiro in which in this essay i will share my recent thoughts of dark tanjiro (pressumably best said as demon tanjiro but no) and his shenanigans of what i think would be nice or love to see
Cw : grammar error lol, i proofread but stillll.... and i just write what i thought at the moment. Very ooc since i like it that way
In the case of following, tanjiro who has always been kind older brother, supports and helps everyone, tries to do his best and keeps a high ambition would be peculiar of sighting to this dark tanjiro who dwells in darkness, nihilistic and obviously rebellious to everyone.
Saying that he is equivalent to a demon is wrong. He's more to the combination of lonely giyuu + abbrasive sanemi. Plus a little bit of douma. wouldnt that be nice? I find it good that in every kindness, theres always a spot of hatred in our heart. Tanjiro has it
Scenarios of him running around in the butterfly estate, messing with the girls and interrupting shinobu with her experimemts and research to which she would throw him out. Hes playful like tengen but a harsh one. He once made one of the girls cry by saying how bad the rice balls taste (tanjiro would've kill him in spot) and he laughed upon the fat tears dripping on the floor. Aoi noticed this and scolded him to which he responded "it was just a joke!"
Dark tanjiro maintains a good relationship with kyojuro (he respected him obviously. He is way too strong for his own good!) and he oftens visit his estate. Senjuro would try to avoid him, the teasing and joking remarks from him made the poor boy uncomfortable and become more self conscious about himself. Obviously he wouldnt tell this to his brother, not when tanjiro eyes him like an eagle looking at its prey. Pathetic, with a scoff he thought.
He doesnt mess around with muichiro that much. Its not entertaining to piss off someone near your age, he thought. Maybe because he usually just spaces off but tanjiro hates him. He's..... painfully boring. If he could be described, he's blank like a white paint on a white canvas.
with everytime you walk pass through sanemi's estate, you can hear the sound of punching and grunting resonates through the air. Dont step in to stop them, its gonna be the cause of your death. They just wont stop
Giyuu. Giyuu. He doesnt have any words on him. Probably the same like muchiro but he liked the feeling of funeral whenever he's around him. Reminds him of his family.
Probably the reason why tanjiro could always be seen with mitsuri is because he probably would admire her huge chest as he smooth talks himself in the conversation. Mitsuri was oblivious as always, thinking that the boy is too friendly for his own good. She knew tanjiro is not himself but the boy is being very kind and nice to her. How could she deny it?
Like how he often gets into a fist fight with sanemi, both obanai and him always get into a quarrel everytime they cross their path. Be it about weather, swordmanship, kaburamaru, mitsuri or anything whatever that they have different opinions on, they'll quarrel. Its amusing at first but can be suffocating as time pass
Dark tanjiro despise gyomei. He envied him. He wanted to be him. He loathed him. He admired him. Gyomei is just, too good to be true. Well, in strengh obviously. Who would want to live a life where you cant see and need to rely on your hearings and other senses. Its annoying, having to deal with that kind of stuff. "You cant be perfect. Yeah.... no one is perfect," tanjiro laughed, his mind once again brought him to the image of gyomei sitting alone as if waiting for something to happen.
Tanjiro had a situation where he once accidentally (purposely) hit on one of uzui's wives. What was her name again? Suma was it? Yeah, she was flustered and taken aback by tanjiro's words she couldnt help but to cry in embarrasment. Tengen saw this and immediately knocked tanjiro until he fainted. The last thing he saw was a bloodied smirk and narrow eyes.
Putting up with tanjiro's behaviour is certainly not an easy job. He's playful, flirty, rebellious, a ticking time bomb and mysterious. It makes you think that you're in a game, his game and every step you choose determines his next move. Tanjiro would visit you every so often, be it night or day, occupied or free, he's there, waving to you with a smile "mind if i knock you up?" Does he have to put it in that way? Its very uncomfortable being with him but you cant simply push him away and you dont even know why. Maybe because you secretly enjoys his company. Could it be? You're so lonely everytime you wouldnt mind someone bothering you. But if tanjiro is crossing the line, you wont hesitate to send this boy back to the butterfly estate. "I want to kill you so bad tanjiro," "you cant cuz you'll miss me,"

some toxic exr things bc who are we kidding
(disclaimer i dont think exr is toxic i love them as much as anyone else this is purely for angst/fic/vent reasons bc im a slut for making characters flawed no im not projecting shut up)
they dont even fight when theyre angry at eachother. like i feel like yeah they scream and yell and throw things but their real fights consist of them just doing,,,nothing. they totally ignore each other, even if they live in the same apartment they just totally isolate. enjolras will lock himself in the bedroom and r will sleep on the couch they literally have a practiced routine and they know each other’s schedule well enough to avoid each other
enjolras doesn’t communicate. like at all. i think he’s an emotional person obvi but he just refuses to acknowledge when something is wrong. i think one of his mqin flaws is that he’s stubbornly optimistic so he kind of just hopes that it will go away eventually. hes also pretty prideful so i think its hard for him to admit when he’s wrong because it makes him feel like a shit person
grantaire on the other hand communicates too much to the point of neediness. like i think he needs constant validation that enjolras does in fact love him and it gets really annoying. hes jealous out of insecurity, so whenever he sees enjolras get hit on he kind of jokingly goes “you should be w them instead” and he actually means it
i also dont think that either of them have relationship experience so everything is brand new to them and its all overwhelming and confusing and they blame their failures on each other
theres a lot of issues with both of them taking responsibility
another toxic enj thing i have is that he kinda gets off on grantaire worshipping him. i think theres a pretty repressed part of him that likes the attention and while he definitely DOES NOT use this in an abusive or manipulative way, hes a little possessive in the idea that grantaire worships him and only loves him. this is mainly a sexual thing ok we dont need to get into it
and the r equivalent is that he is extremely neglectful of his own needs when it comes to enj, but we already knew i dont need to rehash whats been said before
AGAIN! this is purely for angsty headcanon reasons bc ive seen a lot of cool takes from my mutuals on both enj and r’s flaws and i wanted to weigh in on how i think their relationship is affected. ultimately they arent toxic, but both of them are crazy complex and their relationship wouldnt realistically be sunshine and roses, as much as they love each other. but thats why coureferre and literally every other amis ship exists lets not fool ourselves this ship doesnt exist to be fluffy it exists to HURT

Wen Kexing and the great divide.
So as we all know Episode 32 and 33 has left us with a plethora of questions and the fans are divided in terms of their view on Wen Kexing's plan. Tbh that is to be expected if you look at it. It was an asshole move to hide everything from A-Xu and leave him to find his soulmate's dead body only to find holy shit this motherfucker is alive still what the hell. And so a lot of the fans sided with the argument that Wen Kexing never learned and was acting like a selfish lone wolf. But today i am here to try to analyze the plan between Scorpion king, Wen Kexing and Ye bai Ye.
Please keep in mind i haven't watched the entirety of the show yet and so some theories here might not fit in with the rest of Kexing's explanation for the next episode.
Also thid will contain spoilers so please be warned.
Alright let's start. I will be dividing this analysis into parts. 1st part is the show's script and budgeting and why they chose the route that the went with.
2nd part is my theories on the heroes conference and why it was rushed as well as the timeline.
And lastly Wen Kexing's POV and the analysis for his plan and why he did what he did keeping A-Xu in mind as well.
A few extra bonuses is the romeo and juliet plot and why i think it had to be in the plot somehow.
So lets start, sit down and grab a drink for this you will need it.
1st part.
Scriptwriting and budgeting.
This show was supposed to have 45 episode and so the plot would have had more time to marinate and kick in if it weren't for the shortening of the epsiode.
With this in mind the scriptwriter had originally planned for this 45 episode and sadly we won't probably know what was supposed to happen if it weren't cut to 36 episode. But we do have Wolong nuts to thank for giving the drama sponsorship and making the drama into 36 rather than 32. If we had only 32 episodes in this drama everything would have felt too rushed and fast paced. And so to have to cut 9 episodes worth of plot the screewriter was put in a tight spot on how to cram three different events. Namely the kidnapping, the exposing of Zhao Jing and of course the wedding plot as well.
Thus the Romeo and Juliet plot was born. We will be discussing this plot in depth later on in the analysis. Nonetheless if they have had all the freedom and budget it would have been nice to see a plot of Zhou Zishu, Wen Kexing and The Scorpion King all work together to bring Zhao Jing down. For now let us work on the plot given to us.
2.) Timeline.
The heroes conference is a huge deal, this is where EVERYONE of big sects and names gather in the martial arts world, its the equivalent of the whole world witnessing everything. This event is a big part of the plan that the three accomplices had, if they didn't act right away Wen Kexing and Xie'er (Scorpion King) wouldn't have had the chance to expose Zhao Jing in the future, because like what the beauty ghost relayed, once the heroes conference is over Zhao Jing planned on killing Xie'er and eradicating the ghost valley. There would have been no other time to take him down, no time to wait for another heroes conference as Zhao Jing would have risen in power already, they would have been too powerful to stop and the merits he would have gained by then would be multiplies, the people wouldnt see him as evil anymore. Therefore it was crucial to strike at the time where they are most vulnerable and the seed of doubt was still fresh, if they had waited, everyone would have disregarded Wen Kexing as a mad man and praised Zhao Jing for saving them from the purges of the ghost valley.
And scorpion king? Who would believe him if he was the only one to take a stand? His Godfather no doubt would have acted as if he didnt know what Scorpion was saying and act innocent. Even if he was spared Scorpion had no allies other than Wen Kexing who's allies was also born out of the same hatred they had for Zhao Jing. Everyone was forced to act swiftly, it was an all or none kind of situation. Now if we backtrack to the previous episodes, not two episode ago Zhou Zishu was heavily injured because of the kidnapping and was given no time to properly heal before everything needed to be set. As you can see in episode 31 Wen Kexing was in a hurry to meet Xie'er, don't you think it was iffy that he would leave A-Xu like that if he was still injured? The Wen Kexing that we all know would not have moved a single inch from Zhou Zishu's side if he were injured. And this is because of a lot of things which we will be getting to in the third part of the analysis.
Now on the subject of the plan and how Chengling had somehow gotten a hold of it. Simple, Ye bai Yi. He is free to roam around, sending messages and talking to people behind the scenes, we never really knew what he did after he left Wen kexing at four seasons manor and the reason why he had agreed on the rushed reopening of the heroes conference. but if you think about it it fits with the timeline. Zhao Jing wanted to reopen the heroes conference and Ye Bai Yi was sure that they were out to hunt down the chief of the ghost valley. If you remember the letter in episode 27 you will understand.
Tumblr media
Why did they get that letter in the first place when the four seasons manor wasnt even fully restored yet? The martial arts world didnt even know that Zishu was on the road to reopening it and yet he got an invitation. This is Ye Bai Yi's first clue and a nudge for Wen Kexing to take action. This leads us to part 3. Wen Kexing's plan.
3. Wen Kexing's plan.
Now the question is why didn't Wen Kexing think to tell Zhou Zishu his plan? Simple. He is heavily injured. Now i was stuck here as well because i would have thought, why couldnt he just trust Zishu of his plan? BUT you all have forgotten this.
Tumblr media
Wen Kexing has asked this two times, he wanted tell Chengling already so the kid could process it before he could stage his plan and possibly even tell Zhou Zishu on how he can use the heroes conference as an event where he can expose Zhao Jing. But Zhou Zishu was kidnapped, tortured and injured. There was no time to tell him of the plan without him having to stop Wen Kexing from doing it. At first i thought this didnt make sense, Wen should have trusted Zishu enough to carry on without distrubance right? Well a very nice person in Youtube provided some very interesting and eye opening points for me.
Tumblr media
And they are right, if i were Wen kexing i wouldn't want to burden Zishu of having to wait around thinking where i went off to, why do you think he told A-Xiang to take care of Zishu and promised to go back in one piece?
Tumblr media
A-Xiang was also kept in the dark of the plan, the only plan she knew was that Wen Kexing is planning to have an alliance with the scorpion king and thats it. He didnt fully disclose everything either.
Tumblr media
Wen Kexing's plan was simple, after he was regarded as "Dead" he probably would have went home to tell Zhou Zishu he was completely fine and it was all a ruse to trap Zhao Jing. BUT the problem was that Zishu set out to find him, Bei Yuan and Da Wu couldn't stop him either as they had no time to explain everything without Zishu panicking. Like i said this was all too rushed of a plan for Zishu to comprehend specially when he needed to heal as fast as possible.
What they could only do is give Zishu a medicine to ensure that if he ever did take out the nails he would still be okay. And that was the downfall of Kexing's plan. He didnt expect Zishu to have escaped his friends watchful eyes and go to the siege, ever wonder why Kexing said this when Zishu arrived?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was trying to convince Zishu to leave, make him believe that Wen Kexing is out for blood. But Zishu didn't fall for it, instead he stayed which was NOT a part of the plan at all. There was nothing Kexing could have done now, the siege was happening and he could only play along and move forward. And if you look closely again just as they were about to attack Kexing, Ye Ba Yi came to fight Kexing at the VERY right time, and who fought Zhou Zishu?
The three ghosts WuChang, his subordinate and Happy ghost. Why didn't anyone else go for Zishu? They could have had the scorpions attack him but they chose the Ghosts who are a part of Wen Kexing's valley, mind you these three ghosts were there when they rescued Zishu wouldn't it just sound stupid if they were fighting Zishu to kill him? No. What they tried to do is separate Zishu from Wen Kexing. Ye Bai ye could have eliminated Wen in 10 moves, he said this himself. But they had this complicated dance that somehow landed Wen Kexing at the edge of the cliff and left Chengling to do the rest.
And so he fell and Zishu followed. If you look closely even Ye Bai Yi was surprised that Zhishu jumped. NONE of it was part of the plan. From the moment Zishu entered to the moment he jumped no one planned for it.
And if you are upset of Zishu having to see Kexing's dead body and breaking his heart, this again was NOT A part of the plan. Beauty ghost was there to protect the corpse, if the corpse had not been burned it would have been presented to the martial art world and Kexing would come back as a different person and telling them "They got it wrong. That corpse is the chief of the ghost valley, i am Wen Kexing the disciple of four seasons manor" and it would have been more belieavable. But plans went south, Zishu found the corpse further solidfying that Kexing (in his mind) is dead and so he took out the nails. Ke xing couldn't show himself to stop Zishu either, there was so little time and he couldn't risk himself be seen.
Some others had been in the dark of the plan as well, not just Zishu, and the reason Wen Kexing didn't dare tell him was not because he didn't trust Zishu to stay away and let the plan carry out, instead he know EXACTLY what this will do to Zishu. Wen Kexing's plan was to HIDE Zishu away until the conference ended. Because with Da Wu and Bei Yuan, there would have been no news about Ke Xing dying that would have reached their place and Zishu would have had all the time to recover as Ke Xing took revenge and finally come back home as a new person.
He NEEDED Zishu to stay away from the fight to help himself heal just enough to get the nails out.
His revenge done and his new goal to be with Zishu for the rest of their lives. But unfortunate events happened, Zishu found out and there was other way to go but forward.
Ever wonder why Kexing had this look on his face on episode 33?
Tumblr media
He wanted so bad to explain everything but the spotlight was on him and this was the only time he will be given the chance to take a stand. This is now between him and the Zhao Jing. Like everything there was nothing to do but move forward.
Now for bonus part.
Romeo and Juliet plot.
Romeo and Juliet plot is basically person A percieved as "Dead" and person B endagering their life to the brink of death only to find person A was alive and well but Person B is for real dying.
Now tbh i wasn't a big fan of the Romeo and Juliet plot, this was the reason why fans became so divided and saying Kexing didn't learn his lesson therefore lossing their faith in Kexing and Zishu's relationship. He was pervieved as childish and selfish, And tbh they would have had so many plot devices that they can use to maximize full on plotting and bringing down Zhao Jing. But going back to my first point of the budgeting im guessing the scriptwriter had struggled to cram it all in. It was already episode 33 and they still had two more plots to cram in (the wedding and curing Zishu) so im not as upset as much. In the end the whole staff gave their best and poured their heart and soul into the drama. On an ending note i'll just let this nice person do the talking for me
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading! If you guys have your own theories feel free to discuss or voice them out.

Okay, so, a thought appeared in my mind suddenly and I have to share it.
So, dont yell at me, but I love Bro. And here's why.
Okay, so he knew about the game from the beginning because of his connection to Cal, right?
So he trained Dave for the game knowing very well that would traumatize him because he's way too far in his head and he overthinks everything.
So he trained him to make him strong only it didn't, but ut actually did. Anyway, that's not what I'm trying to say at the moment.
I'm here to talk about his clothes.
So he knew Dave would be traumatized,
And he (Bro) obviously has feelings okay,
So what if he knew he himself would die, and that Dave would meet is ectobiological equivalent as a teen,
And i know he wouldnt want dave to hate him,
So what if,
He actually wore what he wore as Bro,
Because he knew he would never wear that in any other situations he would find himself in,
So that would mean he predicted Dave would have traumas about him and would associate his clothes to the traumas,
So he made sure,
he wouldnt see those clothes again after the game,
By wearing clothes he hates. (Or refuse to wear bc it messes up his hair).
Anyway, i love Bro, because even tho he was a huge dick, he did it for a reason.
I think that would also be why he was so avsent and cold all the time towards Dave.
So Dave wouldn't associate the warm feelings and good moments they shared as something that would get back to him negatively afterwards.
Bro was trying to make Dave hate this instance of himself.
So he would love the one who deserves it.
Edit: Oh, also, he never told him his real name or anything about himself because he tried to dehumanize the image of himself in Dave's mind.

My two cents on who kills Envy. I believe Scar knows he started to the war, but Mustang does not. Which once again paints Mustang's actions in a worse light because he doesn't even know one of the worst things Envy has done. Also in fairness, Scar does get to kill Bradley. He might not have started the war but he sure ordered the genocide and gets control in the official capacity.
I think this has to do with humanity (idk if thats the right word but hear me out). Envy is a monster who disguised himself as a human to start the war. Scar has beef with all the homunculi and Father and is justified to be the one to kill any of them, since they used the slaughter of his race as fuel for their plans. But that’s a fantasy element.
Theres a degree of separation there (contrast to how 2003 handles ishval—it still has fantasy elements but treats ishvalans in a much more real and grounded context by highlighting the metaphorical aspects of the fantasy elements—yes dante is pulling strings to make a philosophers stone, but humanity has way more agency in this story because the stone is just a representation of human greed and cruelty...in this sense i think 2003 handles ishval and the complexities of war and imperialism LEAGUES better, because its more respectful, grounded, and doesnt hide behind fantasy elements. this isnt to say BH is bad or does anything badly, just that it ran with the fantasy more than the realism of those real world topics. and thats fine, many many stories do that and they can be amazing. SORRY FOR THE TANGENT) . But anyway degree of separation. Fantasy elements.
Scar killing envy is just killing another monster, another evil demon thing responsible for humanity’s problems. That doesnt have much weight. But bradley, even if he’s a homunculus too, still represents something real. He’s a fascist and militaristic leader who ordered extermination of a race. He led the soldiers. He is more real. he has more of a real world equivalent. Envy and the other homunculi do not because theyre just. Monsters doing evil things. Bradley is a human doing evil but still human things. Therefore, scar killing envy would not have had much impact. But scar killing bradley does. That has more weight, and that feels more justified.
I wouldnt say it paints mustang in a bad light, personally. If he knew envy started the war, i wouldnt feel like mustang “deserves” to use that as fuel for his vengeance in the narrative sense. Because its not really envys fault that mustang chose his path, is it? Thats something highlighted a lot, that the soldiers following orders still chose to follow orders. But killing envy for killing his dear friend who was supposed to have his back and help in his goal to help the country? That works too. Because killing hughes is still connected to the effects of the war.
