🌨 Sleet - What's the most you've ever written in one sitting?

okay so the most I have ever written in one sitting ever has been about 3k words I believe? it was when I was 14 and it was the first fanfic I'd ever written, idk what fumes I was high off of but I wrote 3,000 words in 2 hours without stopping like it was nothing. I've never been able to do that since, the closest I've come to it is when I wrote almost 2k words in one sitting in a sleep deprived delirium a few weeks ago. my writing has improved a lottt since age 14 for sure but I do wish I had what 14 yr old me had that night </3

I will say tho that I've gotten a lot better this year at writing more words at a time, it used to be a struggle to crank out any more than 200 words and now my bare minimum word count I can expect when I sit down to write is 400-500, and lately its been more so, progress! lol

also shoutout to authors who write like 4k+ in one sitting y'all scare me

☀️ Sun - What's your favorite part of your WIP?

I have many WIPs so I will go with my ultimate WIP aka my sapphic fantasy novel and hmm. I'd say my fave part is a tie between when Tessa and Sophia first really connect and Tessa realizes Sophia is the first person to see her as someone strong and brave and make her feel like she's worthy of being a person in her own right and... the scene where Tessa gets her shit rocked by [redacted] after Sophia tried to protect her by separating them and she loses it and hunts down and kills this guy she really hates lol

🌫 Fog - What was the hardest part of your WIP to write?

Ummm like. every other paragraph LMAO. there are parts that flow really easily and then other parts where I'm just like ummm what are words again. what am I even doing hello what is this? but the nice thing abt first drafts if that if I get really stuck I can always just throw in a one sentence descriptor of what I to want to happen in brackets and then move on to the next scene that flows. im sure future me will be very annoyed when they have to deal with those later but at the pace im going that is soooo far from my problem rn :D

(Very Brief) Mass Propaganda Post For @doomed-bythe-narrative !!!!!

1. Akane Kurashiki (Zero Escape)

I am campaigning for her the hardest rn because yall she is going to lose this poll

Why is she doomed?: the narrative exists BECAUSE she is doomed. There is no narrative without her being doomed to suffer within it. Also, from what I've heard, she's ALSO doomed in the two other games in the series she's in!!! She CANNOT exist in this world without being doomed by the narrative no matter what you do to prevent it. She makes my brain explode

2. Mordred (High Noon Over Camelot)

The winner of the Mechs Poorest Little Meow Meow bracket :)

Why is he doomed?: He's a main character in a Mechs album. More specifically, the context of every Mechs album is that the band watched the stories happen and are now conveying that information to you through the albums. His story was over before it ever started, and his story is destined to crush his morals and leave him sad and alone as he dooms his entire world to burn. There was no avoiding this the second the Mechs started singing.

3. Lyfrassir Edda (The Bifrost Incident)

MY POOR LITTLE MEOW MEOWWWWW BABY YOU ARE MY ANGELLL

Why are they doomed?: They're a main character in a Mechs album. Okay but for real, their story was decided for them 80 years before the story even fucking starts. They're doomed from the second they start speaking and the only thing they can do in the narrative is learn just how fucked everything is about to get with absolutely no way to prevent it. Someone please help them

4. Ganondorf (Wind Waker)

That's my grandpa :)

Why is he doomed?: Ganon in every Zelda game is doomed to become the antagonist no matter what he does simply because that is the nature of the cycle they're all trapped in. Wind Waker Ganon feels (in my experience and the games I've played) the most regretful of how this cycle has ended up. He's tired, but he's not going to stop now. He knows his destiny is to die at the hero's hands, and he's going to fulfill it. But he's also not going down without a fight (though can you really say he's trying compared to some of the other Ganon fights in the series? He's almost easier than the boss gauntlet you do to get to him. He's so tired)

5. Porygon Evolution Line (Pokemon)

Why is it doomed?: because my bestie said so <3 and ey said so SO MUCH and ey are SO CORRECT, it was literally shadowbanned from Real Life for being in an episode of the anime with no warning for flashing lights, except it wasn't even Porygon that caused it. Literally got doomed from real life because of something it didn't do

6. Eden (In A Manor Of Speaking)

This one is a silly funny c: that's my besties OC everyone vote for her right now or I'll cry /j

am i reviving this blog to ramble on about my tav bc ive been playing a bunch of bg3 .......maaaaaybe

i should really remember this exists and do more character writing in general buuut today im having seraphine thoughts aka a massive ramble under the cut

shes my little guy i love her so much look at her *points*

i went wild with the mods and customizations making her extra as fuck because i mean so am i when it comes to characters (ignore her eyebrow colors i couldnt do anything about them, also she has earrings but im not at the pc i play on rn i think this laptop would melt trying lmao esp on the high gfx settings to not have her face be unanimated and detached from her head)

as you can see shes a tiefling but shes also a silver draconic ancestry sorc! currently lv5 in the underdark act 1 and a gay idiot for karlach with hubris and little self preservation between her ice powers and innate fire resistance so they've kissed twice and she regrets nothing she's feral to get that engine fixed we've already got our second piece of infernal iron on standby

when she's not being gay as fuck she's pretty reasonable, wants to help people out and treat the world better than it's treated her, spent some time in the church of selune (acolyte bg) and she's no cleric but faithful and grateful to the people there who helped her. willing to kill for what's right but doesn't like being too brutal about it (she's willing to help the myceanids but she's not really in the business of taking heads so she's wary). tried the illithid powers once and got freaked out, wary of the dream guardian and resisted/refused any consuming of tadpoles by either active resistance and shoving it in a chest to ignore it or just lmao not picking that up from any of the goblin camp leaders

probably what's freaked her out the most recently besides the whole tadpole thing is the susur blooms taking away her magic, it's been a part of her her whole life, for better or for worse - it was a bit volatile and troublesome before she learned how to harness it properly but now it's something she holds close, and losing a part of herself that felt fundamental, a presence that was always there freaked her out a bit. she definitely ended up talking to gale a bit about magic and sat close (but not too close) to karlach cause she makes her feel safe and the underdark's starting to get to her a bit but these darn sidequests must be done and the shadowlands sound terrible!

she wants a hug but the only one she feels comfortable asking for that literally cant ;n;

also pet scratch and the owlbear ofc they're besties now its so cute

tokyo ghetto - oh boy. ok with this and ivory combined i almost wonder if gumiya thinks his own form of kindness is a facade? like he doesnt think that there is Work in being kind and that everyones just faking it like him, not that its something you have to try every day. shine is this beacon because he feels like she’s earnestly being kind and he’s just. imitating it. maybe. at the very least he definitely looks up to shine’s version of kindness

this is my first hc post, so sorry if it's messy (it is)

also it's very long (at least i think so) and english isn't my native

we all know that when phoenix arrives to the bar she is with fanboy and payback, right

so i totally think that she mostly hangs out with them

at least at the beginning

i see her as a person who is very fun and outgoing, but only with people that she's known for a while

'the meaner i am, the more i love you' type of person

but not around bob (he is too sweet, she wouldn't even know where to start)

THE REST OF THE BOYS ON THE OTHER HAND

(when she tells someone about them she totally calls them 'the boys' or 'my boys')

so with the rest of the boys she is rougher, but, yk, in a loving way

ROOSTER

OH, HER RELATION WITH ROOSTER (that i created in my head) IS PURE GOLD

i know that at the beginning the writers wanted to make phoenix his love interest, and i would like to personally shake hands with the person who prevented this from happening

they're both bi (that's all you need to know rn)

they tease each other NON-STOP

but they totally can talk about more serious issues

phoenix is always there when rooster needs an emotional kick

he knows the girl won't pity him

and she knows he's not gonna judge her

like when phoenix had the biggest crush on halo and she started to act weirdly around her

BECAUSE I LOVE THE IDEA OF MEAN AND ROUGH PHOENIX WHO LOSES HER COOL EVERYTIME SHE SEES A HOT WOMAN

she struggled so hard to do the first move, she wasn't even sure if she wanted to do it

and rooster — who she wasn't that close to at the time — saw that and started encouraging her to ask halo out

phoenix was very pleasantly surprised at his reaction, but after some time she realized that her crush on callie was — well — just a crush

(it also turned out that halo was already taken) (so actually both phoenix and rooster were happy that natasha didn't make the first move)

but it definitely brought them closer and now they're the hottest bi besties the top gun has ever seen

she is actually the meanest to hangman, most of the time he can't say if she's joking or not

and she LOVES to compete with him, but the funny part is, that he never knows when she does

so they will go up, phoenix will make some sick tricks in the air and when they all land, she'll give bob a high five and she'll laugh in jake's face

saying something like 'SEE, HANGMAN, I WON'

and he will just make a face and ask 'what. you won WHAT exactly'

but she'll be already with rooster, bragging that she beat hangman

and rooster obviously will look at him over her head

and say with a totally straight face 'of course you did'

hangman will just shake his head before following them

back to fanboy and payback (and also coyote, bc i feel like the three of them mostly spends time together)

she kinda treats fanboy like her younger brother, which is VERY sweet

she always helps him when he needs something and they share food

and one is always very happy and proud when the other is successful

phoenix, payback and coyote aren't as closed as, let's say, she and bob, or even rooster, but they like to spend time together

and their fav thing to do is standing with arms crossed, judging people

they gossiped all day after their first lesson with maverick (and also part of the night)

all three of them love to bet on practically anything

but payback and coyote are actually aware of that, unlike hangman

phoenix and payback pretend to truly believe, that coyote and rooster constantly flirt witch each other

so javy and bradley will literally just talk after flying and natasha and reuben will go 'are we interrupting something? we can totally go eat somewhere else' and 'god, can't you guys just KISS already'

it'd be probably very annoying to anyone else, but coyote and rooster don't mind, they know phoenix and payback are just teasing them, so it's okay

+ they actually do flirt a lot

once fanboy asked phoenix, completely serious, if hangman was fine with the fact that his boyfriend flirts with coyote all the time and she hasn't let rooster live since

phoenix, fanboy and coyote LOVE to watch rooster and hangman annoy/flirt with each other. natasha and mickey, whenever they can, they sit cross-legged and watch the bicker like it's a ping-pong match. coyote says they look like children (but always stands next to them whispering shit like 'they wanna kiss each other so bad')

payback and bob are always further away when rooster and hangman have their little show. payback because he is 'bored with their constant flirting', and bob because he is scared they're gonna make him pick a side

YES, CORRECT, IT'S TIME FOR PHOENIX AND BOB BESTIES CONTENT

jhsakhfhfjak SO we know that when bob was assigned to phoenix she wasn't particularly pleased with this (well, she is a bit of a lonely wolf when it comes to flying)

bob had the tiniest, cutest little crush on her

not the 'i like you' crush, more like 'you're so awesome, but i'm too scared to talk to you, so i'm just gonna stare at you' crush (which can be the same thing, yes)

phoenix decided that she can as well be nice to her new wso, especially, when hangman was making fun of him

and she kinda,,, was always there when anybody was going to say anything, it was almost like she had a sixth sense or something

bob is now obviously part of the team (he always was, the boys just needed someone to tease), but he is still very thankful to her

'that's what friends do, come on, bobino' she grins, and bob's heart starts beating faster because HE TRULY IS FRIENDS WITH HER and it's SUCH A NICE FEELING

and YES, she calls him bobino, she actually has a thousand nicknames for him (bobsleigh, bobster, pink floyd. they are all impossibly stupid, but they both love them)

he doesn't remain in debt to her. it's very common to hear bob calling phoenix 'nat', 'tasha', or, his favorite, 'tracy'

i DO think that they spend christmas together (and with rooster, but that's for another post)

i just SKDJFNHSASF i LOVE platonic m/f relationships, they mean so much to me

and that's also why i like to think that phoenix has a nice, cute friendship with each of the boys

Hi can i just take a sec to scream about how endearing my friends are and how fucking fond i am of them because FUCK bro

Just today has me all sorts of soft and thankful and im jut gonna list little things that just have me so ugensdhej rn

(Not using names just in case :D)

- today a coworker friend of mine bought me a monster and half a dozen donuts during his lunch just because he could and was in a good mood

- keep getting reminded of the matching bracelet my bestie (lol shed hate that im using that but i think its funny) got for me and how i absolutely refuse to take mine off until it falls off <33 it makes me so happy

- its some of my friends one year today and one of them sent me a snap of them in call being all cute and i just love seeing them happy and in love with each other ugh

- another one of them has made a habit of jumping into her vc in our group discord server to get ready in the mornings and put on music, and as soon as one of us joins to vibe with her she'll turn on her camera so we can watch her do her routine and hang out <33 she cant always talk but it's always fun to chill together regardless i love it

- said friend actually takes us along a lot and keaves us on call with the camera to chill and i genuinely love it so much every time its so sweet <333

- speaking of discord though!! In our group's discord we each have personal nicknames (that are constantly changing bc of each other), roles, and we each have our own "room" (text channel) and voice chat, all of which have choice names and I love it so so much its so cute and fun

- (the fact that on the server i have been given the permission to kick people but only that. sSDIWHNSD its so fucking funny we're constantly fighting for who gets what rights)

- that one time we all split up into our own voice chats and it looked like a high school cafeteria with cliques (i sat alone and got bullied in the vc text chat </3)

- the fact that one of our group made fanart of that, with her being all confused

- we are all degenerates and put quote chat is awful and holy shit i hope it never sees the light of day LMAO

God theres so much more but i just LOVE MY FRIENDS SO MUCH

And we're coming up on 3 years of all being together!!! Im losing my shit i just 😭😭💖💖

no same god i felt the exact same way going into marineford like. i know whats going to happen AND i dont even get to see any of the besties for emotional support?? but we soldier on !

BABYTRAPPING HELP thats so fucking funny yeah youre right its way better to phrase it like that. i loved the flashbacks soooo much like they are so cute and silly and brothers<3 ace really fully tried to kill baby luffy though it made me laugh so much like. he does nawt want you around bud, sorry!

i just finished up dressrosa, which i also really enjoyed! it drags a little towards the end for me but overall i found it really interesting and fun, maybe just bc the setting was quite cool. faves from that arc are viola and corazon i wish we got to see even more of them but obviously the arc isnt about them + theres a lot of random guys introduced in dressrosa in a sort of similar Assortment way as impel down which was exciting, like bartolomeo and cavendish who are just so fucking funny i really really enjoyed them too.

fave 'new' characters are ofc sabo and law. im such a sucker for like, 'disillusioned guy who has a shit family runs away to become a feral dude w a good heart' sort of stories so sabo is my bestie forever. also, lead pipe<3

laws abilities are soooo cool am obsessed w him + the way he is so smart and has really well laid plans...except then luffy happens is so so funny. sorry you are losing everything so badly all the time buddy</3 im really glad hes sticking around i hope he gets to have a win someday...

actually insane to think about how fast everythings moving post-ts i didnt realise it was all SO quick. like from the vague things i knew it seemed like soooo much stuff happens in terms of plot and each arc getting longer that i assumed it took a little while in the story timeline as well but thats not the case at all. i know in general the 'timeline' is very unspecific and fluid (like even just thinking about how the entire pre-ts story takes place over probably less than six months ???? is crazy to me) but i definitely feel like oh shit ok everything is just at hyperspeed now bc its all so Serious, alright !

Phasma kicks his chair for the third time that night, and Hux looks at her, glaring. It’s annoyed him every time, but it annoys him even more that she’s had to; he should have more self-control than this.

“Stop staring,” she says under her breath, “it’s freaking me out.” Hux risks a glance in your direction, wondering if you’ve noticed this interaction but you stay blissfully unaware, laughing again at something Mitaka’s said to you, and Hux’s frown deepens.

“I’m not doing it on purpose,” he says bitingly, but she only smirks at him.

Ren plops down in the seat next to him, returning from his third trip through the line, his plate stacked high with an appalling amount of food. “Was he staring again?”

Phasma nods, and Hux flushes red, glaring at the both of them, “why do I even bother sitting with you when I get this kind of abuse?” Both of them snicker, and Hux rolls his eyes.

“Well,” Ren says, leaning over him and gesturing in your direction with his fork, “you could always go sit over there.” He raises his eyebrows to emphasize his point, and Phasma laughs loud enough to draw attention from some of the nearby tables. Hux forces Ren’s arm down, hoping no one will notice the table he had been pointing to.

“Honestly, Hux,” Ren pulls his hand back, stabbing a spear of broccoli off his plate, “I don’t see why you can’t just go over there and talk to her.”

“Really? You can’t understand why that’s not possible?” He feels sick just thinking about it, walking through the motions in his head. There was very little that frightened Hux, but letting himself even think about speaking to you in any context beyond academic left his knees weak, and Ren had already witnessed plenty of failed interactions to know this.

“Oh, right,” he shrugs his shoulders and takes a bite of a doughnut before taking a long drink of coke without swallowing first. Hux rolls his eyes.

“Well,” Phasma slams her palms to the table, before standing, “you might not be able to talk to her, but I can.” She’s out of her seat before Hux can even process her words, working her way through the crowded dining hall over to your table.

“Oh, fuck,” Hux slams his head to the table before turning to face Ren, his back towards you and the inevitable train-wreck. “What are they saying?”

Ren peers over the crowd in your direction, squinting, “I don’t know, but whatever Phasma’s telling her, she’s definitely in to it.”

“Really?” Hux sits up a little, chancing a glance your way.

“Definitely,” Ren nods sagely. As uncanny as it could be, Hux trusted Ren’s intuition on this kind of thing—he had a strange knack for reading people.

Emboldened by Ren’s verdict, Hux turns to watch the rest of the conversation unfold. Phasma is animated, as she leans over the table you’re sitting at with your friends, and you’re smiling up at her, a faint trace of laughter on your lips.

Phasma points to him as she speaks, and you follow the line of her arm, your eyes landing on him and they stay there, curious. Hux can feel his ears grow warm, and he resists the urge to bury his face in his arms, instead offering a half-hearted wave. You smile in earnest.

“Shit,” Hux says, looking down at the table with laser-like focus, “they’re coming this way.”

“Then I’ll take that as my cue to leave,” Ren gathers his now-empty tray, kicking the chair back under the table.

“Wait,” Hux cries, his heart threatening to leap right out of his chest, “what am I even supposed to say to her?”

“Just don’t be weird,” he says without a backwards glance, and Hux is left at the table alone.

“Hey, Armitage,” he recognizes your voice, and his heart stutters as if it’s threatening to fail completely. With an incredible amount of effort, he forces himself to turn around. You’re by yourself, standing at the edge of the table. Phasma is nowhere to be found.

“Hey,” he replies, cringing inwardly. He had meant to sound cool and aloof, but the word comes out glacial, and your smile fractures the tiniest bit. Out of the corner of his eye, Hux finds Phasma and Ren watching him from the door, and Ren holds his face in both hands, shaking his head. This is not going well.

“Uh, I just came over here because Phasma said you had a question about the project for Professor Snoke’s class, but if now’s not a good time . . .” the rest of your sentence drifts off as you pull your bottom lip between your teeth and Hux feels like he’s about to suffer from a fucking aneurysm.

“It isn’t a good time, actually,” he says, and you look as if he’s slapped you; even from the other end of the dining hall he can see Ren losing his mind, “but I was wondering, I mean—if you’re not busy tomorrow, of course—if you don’t already have plans-”

“Maybe we could go over it in the library?” you offer, tentative, and Hux is overcome with relief.

“7 o’ clock?” He asks, and you nod, bouncing on the balls of your feet.

“It’s a date,” you agree, waving good bye as you walk back to your table, and Hux leans back in his chair, dumbfounded. He’s got a date.

Yes kisaki is a bitch, he doesn't deserve a redemption and I got so pissed when takemitchy was wondering about him after he died like ??? Man that kid is pure evil, like nasty evil.

I agree with you. From the start I thought the answer to the " happy ending" was takemitchy dying in the end. But this is the last arc so idk? It may end like some dead, some alive kind of thing? I also ponder if mickey dying wouldn't be a solution too, most of the bad ending are around him.

It is too complex to solve everything, you can't save everyone and that is quite clear by now.

Walking red flag, mind explaining? I think I get what you mean, but still! I really don't understand him sometimes, I feel like he kinda lost the sense of it? Idk...

But with Naoto it feels different. Like it seems like he remembers every time he dies or Hina dies or the previous time leap. He does says his memory gets re written too, I might be reading too much into it?

Everyone waiting on takemitchy was cute! But autopilot takemitchy must be so so different and it surprised me people didn't really notice?

It was a good arc! It was just too much going on XD I cried so much too! I didn't expect that from mucho nor angry to be, well, angry?

I won't lie I am bit lost on this final arc, not in not understanding what is happening but more like where it is going.

Also where is Hanma? I feel like he might make an unpleasant come back.

Oh no! I think you got it all wrong, I was mad that Kisaki was gone because I adore his character, not because I hate him lmao.

Mikey is the problem, but the thing is that everybody adores him too much to even attend to leave him, I mean he had to force Toman yo despise him by whooping their ass otherwise they wouldn’t have leave him.

Takemichi has a savior complex, it’s not even about him being a good friend, at this point he is forcing his beliefs into Mikey. Yes, Mikey tends to be an asshole and lose all coherent thoughts but he never intended to drag the others into his mess, opting for being hated and having them safe instead of having them in Bonten (different from when Kisaki was alive and he was the leader of Toman; he had everybody in that bitch). Takemichi is forcing things so much that he dragged Draken into the mess, and probably Senju too in the next chapters cause mf Terano is feral rn.

His memories get re written and thats what he updated Takemichi in every alternative future: he tells Mitchy if Hina made it alive, if Mikey is in a gang and all of that.

They know! And that’s why they say they were waiting for him, auto-pilot Takemichi is not aware of things so they just treat him normally but with the real Mitchy they’re more open, and we can see this in this final arc when Chifuyu confirms if he’s adult Takemichi in the past again before giving him the tea on what tf is going on.

Mucho was too damn secretive to not have something weird BUT— the craziest thing is that Mikey knew all the time lmao. People tend to think that Mucho betrayed Toman but when he was recruited he let Mikey know that he was committed to another king, Mucho told him that WHILE being recruited lol. Mikey knew and still gave him a high position to keep an eye on him. I guess since Mikey wasn’t besties with Sanzu he didn’t directly told about Yasuhiro’s double life, I think not even Draken knew which let me know that Mikey is secretive as hell too; bc what he did in Bonten don’t make sense, what he said in the recordings for Takemichi, him not explaining the dark impulses and so on.

I have so much comments about this final arc but I’ll probably gonna sound rude or something so I just talk about the old characters with confidence.

Hanma not having an appearance for so long after being one of the principal antagonist through the whole series… yeah. We are definitely gonna learn some things with that damn story of his.

this is like really random but i have to vent. so basically i’m 20 years old and in my second-year at a uk university. and like i had the worst first-year of my life, made no friends, and got long covid plus really bad depression so yeah it wasn’t great. and now im back at uni i just am really feeling my lack of experience. iv never even properly kissed anyone let alone had sex and all the drinking games etc revolve around sex. i’m pretty sure i’m bi just like based on what i masturbate to but i’v only ever looked at guys as potential relationships. i just like don’t know how to navigate the social world with no friends and no sexual experience, it just feels impossible. and all my friends from home (1 of which is at uni with me) have boyfriends or at least have had sex. and also clubbing feels totally revolved around sex and kissing. it’s really hard to admit to people that i’m a virgin because people assume i’m a prude or a weirdo when i’m not i just haven’t really had the opportunity. i’m just feeling like such a loser atm. oh aaaand i actually really want a boyfriend rn.

Firstly, this is totally normal and nothing to be ashamed of. There’s no timeline for these things.

Secondly, so this is going to be a long winded Agony AuNat but sometimes I think my best ones are. In a way, this reminds me of a friend I had like 20-21 at uni. Basically we became friends because I caught her forum role playing and I was like “lmaoooo I used to do that too!” and we like bonded over it and like very quickly I began realizing that she did it on the kinds of sites me and my online friends laughed at because they weren’t ⚡️aesthetic⚡️ or sexy. Like this was some high fantasy bullshit lol - no offense also cool - on like ProBoards when we were already in the Jcink era. Anyway no biggie. This girl - a horse girl at 20 still and not in the rich bitch way - proceeded to like… idolize me and obvi y’all know how much I like attention so I loved it. And one night she asked me for advice on how to get kissed because she had been like… really wanting to lose her virginity but things just weren’t happening. I proceeded to give the worst advice ever because I too was just a young un. I said “don’t worry it’s gonna happen for you!!! Like I’m sure your crush likes you!! Don’t stress you’re so pretty and sweet!” And I believed I was saying the right stuff and it comforted her ngl so I was like 👏🏻👏🏻 go Nat you’re the best at giving advice.

Except here’s the problem - it still wasn’t happening. She was going to parties with me and I was like dressing her sluttier like some weird teen romcom movie where I was giving her a makeover and like… no one was biting.

And then - for those who remember the Nat Cinematic Universe - it turned out that rando from my 21st who I randomly fucked? Ya dudes that was her crush lol and she hadn’t told me because she thought I’d figure it out lol and she was mad at me and we sorta stayed friends until I fucked that guy’s friend which was nbd to anyone involved because my bestie fucked him and tbh I fancied the friend because he was this average sized weedy dark haired boy who was very weird looking and she exploded at me and called me a slut and shit and that was that, friendship over.

Unsure what happened next, but the reason I’ve given you this backstory is from my current POV I gave extremely bad advice so I’m gonna try correct with you tonight.

Unless you’re in high school when friends of friends can go between people and say you have a crush, and then you text them and like bam you’re exclusive, you have to work to get ass or make friends. Okay the other exception is if you’re like SUPER hot idk about that life, but tbh probs even then. Life isn’t a teen movie, and you’re not gonna just catch someone’s eye and that’ll be that. Dressing nicely might be part of it, doing your hair and makeup in whatever style you want, and making it clear up front - especially at uni when imo branding™️ matters a lot - what your interests are and such shit all factor in. I’m not saying change who you are because again that’s supremely bad advice: figure out who you are. Figure out what you want to wear (experiment!), who you want to talk to (strike up convos on campus!), what you like doing (try things out!) and - most importantly - what you’re comfortable with. Try drinking - and if you don’t like it, don’t do it. Try flirting - and if you don’t like it, know that you can go from friends to this and not everyone enjoys that. Try clubbing - and if you don’t like it, know that there are a ton of societies you can join on campus and campus events you can go to that don’t revolve around that, so seek those out and find your tribe.

Fundamentally, college is what you make of it.

Which means that like unfortunately my dude, you’ll make a fool of yourself. Probably more than once.

But know that friends won’t manifest and boys won’t manifest unless you make an effort and put yourself out there. Ask people to coffee. Ask people to the pub. Girls, boys, enbies, whoever.

Re the anxiety about “never having done this before” - I think that’s totally normal. But also like lots of other people haven’t and everyone has had a first time. In drinking games you can lie lol. You don’t need to advertise it’s your first time for anything if you’re uncomfortable with it. I didn’t tell my first kiss he was my first kiss lol because it was unnecessary info for him tbh (it wasn’t hs boyfriend even tho I’m pretty sure I was his lol but he was my third 😌).

But you also don’t need to be shy about it because honestly 2nd year uni is so fucking young. It’s not like you’re coming to me as a 40 year old virgin and asking for advice (again no timeline but I’m not there yet so maybe not the right person to give it). Most of the people you’re hanging out with haven’t had a ton of sexual experience either lmao. On my 20th birthday I had been with exactly two people, my Angel boyfriend (in hindsight) hs ex and the Rabbi’s son (literally no one’s Angel boyfriend but hopefully he and his tiny dick are married now and Mazels if so) who I fucked a few days after we broke up to prove a point. I was a bad lay (and remain so with guys unless they’re into The Hiddles Experience, not for lack of opportunities, but because we don’t have to master all things). I also - unlike you - had never masturbated. I’d never had an orgasm. I liked sex with hs ex but couldn’t explain what I liked or why, it was just fun sometimes and other times it wasn’t. (In hindsight with clit action it was fun and with pure thrusting it wasn’t). So the fact that you have wanked already gives you a head start over many of the girls guys will be meeting.

So like… figure out what’s comfortable for you. Try different things out. Walk away when you don’t like it. Never do stuff that goes against your values. Don’t be overly shy in ways that wind up making you uncomfortable, like with the story that started this, and don’t expect these things to happen if you make no effort. That applies to friendships and ass alike. And sometimes what you think will be ass will turn into friendships and sometimes what you think will be friendship will turn into more. Let it. That’s what uni’s for.

Final point: try reduce the pressure of having a boyfriend. It’s fine if it happens, but since as you say you’re not a prude, it’s fine if it doesn’t. It will eventually. Try go into encounters with the open mindedness of “this could be ass, this could be friendship, this could be more” and like clear eyes full hearts can’t lose tbh.

Final final point: join societies. Join all the societies. The best way to both get ass and make friends and make friends discussing the ass you’re getting is by joining societies.
