Goa Stone and Gold Case, late 17th–early 18th century. «Goa stones, named for the place where they were manufactured by Jesuits in the late seventeenth century, were manmade versions of bezoars (gallstones from ruminants). Both types were used for their medicinal and talismanic powers. These treasured objects were encased in elaborate containers made of gold and silver and often exported to Europe. Error!
I declare an error! (This is in Goblet of Fire.) A bezoar is an object that is in itself something of a panacea antidote (will save you from most poisons, according to Snape In Sorcerer's Stone). In Half-Blood Prince, the same definition holds, as Harry grabs a single bezoar and presents it to Slughorn in lieu of brewing an antidotal potion. Then later it's the same single bezoar that Harry gives Ron when he drinks the poisoned mead.
Considering this information, a bezoar is not a potion ingredient. It's just a thing. Stand alone.

A History of the Mad Stone, the One-Time 'Cure' for Rabies
The mad stone, in other words, is a variation on the bezoar: a real phenomenon that occurs in ruminants whereby a mass of swallowed matter is compacted into a small, hard orb that is passed through the animal’s digestive tract. The word “bezoar” comes from the Persian for “antidote,” and such objects were long believed to have medicinal properties. In fact, modern chemical analyses have shown that certain bezoars, when immersed in a solution that includes arsenic, can indeed extract the poison from the liquid.

Oval goa stone, Europe, 1601-1800
Goa stones are named after their place of origin, Goa in India. They are artificially manufactured versions of bezoar stones, which are found in animal stomachs. Goa stones are made from a combination of clay, silt, shells, resin and musk and are typically spherical in shape. Scrapings from Goa stones mixed with water were drunk as a remedy for numerous ailments, including plague. They were also placed in drinks to counteract suspected poisoning. They were highly valued and could change hands for enormous prices. This stone has an ornate case made from silver with a silver tripod stand.

someone who is into EDC and occult shit on my IG feed listed some stuff in her bag of amulets she carries around, and she has, apparently, a llama bezoar. fascinating, I think. a llama, specifically? delightful. surely you have to go to great lengths to get a llama bezoar.
and then? THEN? then you google it and like ALL the bezoars on ebay are llama.

I'M SORRY WHAT [image of tweet: "Today I discovered that there is a specific type of bezoar that develops in humans due to eating persimmons that aren't fully ripe, and that in half of cases it can be cured by doing nothing more than drinking Coca-Cola, and this amuses and terrifies me in equal measure."]

I absolutely love Jinshi and Maomao's relationship and that princess carry scene really embodies what I love about them. She's bleeding and being princess carried by Jinshi, a position many would die for, and she has the audacity to ask if she can have the ox bezoar.

You know that trope where prostitution is portrayed as the point of a woman's story where she is at her lowest, poorest, and most vulnerable and easy to exploit? Jekyll and Hyde? Les Miserables? Moulin Rouge? Yeah. That's the 'Saul Goodman' persona to Jimmy McGill.
