10 CURIOSITIES ABOUT FROZEN 2
Tumblr media
1 - The Northuldra Tribe and the plot of the dam was inspired by real life
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 1979 the Norwegian government decided to build a hydroelectric plant on the Alta River, but this would completely harm the salmon fishing and reindeer grazing that are the livelihood of the Sámi Tribe. They tried to oppose the construction, but were ignored and in the end the dam was built. But the protests they held were a major turning point for the tribe's relationship with the Norwegian government, which began to look more closely at the tribe even though it continues to commit various negligence towards it. In "Frozen 2" things were more drastic with King Runeard, Anna and Elsa's grandfather, creating the dam with the sole purpose of weakening the tribe and then managing to exterminate them because he considered them a risk to his throne due to their proximity with the spirits of nature and magic.
2 - Kristoff is technically a Northuldra before Anna and Elsa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is no coincidence that Kristoff got along so well with the Northuldras and that people started to theorize that he is part of them since Kristoff is a Sámi or at least he was in the script "Frozen 1". In the film's script he and all the ice harvesters are called Sámi, which as I said at the beginning is the Northuldra Tribe from F2. As far as I know there is no confirmation in the franchise that brings the sides together (ice harversters and Northuldra), but considering that the Sámi Tribe is known for being a combination of different types of tribe, even having more than one language wouldn't be too wrong, and actually not unheard of since Anna and Elsa's mother's original tribe is different from the one she is shown participating in in F2 since her original tribe and family were completely wiped out when Iduna was 5 years old.
3 - Bruni or Sally
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the novelization of "Frozen 2" Olaf is in doubt about what name to give to the fire salamander, the options being Bruni and Sally. In the end he doesn't choose any of them and the book itself starts calling the salamander with the name Bruni. This is not the debut of the name Sally, in the Christmas short called "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" the stocking that Olaf hangs on the fireplace has the name Sally on it. And also about Bruni's name in the book "Dangerous Secret's: The Story of Iduna and Agnarr" which is a book that tells the past of Anna and Elsa's parents, Iduna calls the fire salamander with the name Bruni decades before Olaf choose this name for the Fire Spirit.
4 - Halima and Ryder have names inspired by real people
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Halima, who is Mattias' love interest, shares her name with her voice actress Halima Hudson, and Ryder, who is Honeymaren's brother, shares his name with Ryder Buck, who is the deceased son of director Chris Buck.
5 - Santino Fontana and the redemption of Hans
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Santino, who is the voice actor for the villain in "Frozen 1", even gave an interview saying that someone from Disney, who he obviously can't say who he is, told him that his character would return and I will have a redemption arc… Considering that the character since "Freezing Fever" has become the franchise's most recurring joke, appearing only to be humiliated as in the special "Once Upon a Studio" and in "Frozen 2" Elsa refers to him with the phrase "unreedemable monster" I have my doubts as to whether the person who said that to Santino really was someone from Disney or was playing a joke on him or was from a version of the script so early that perhaps the Northuldra Tribe didn't even exist yet.
6 - Lady Halverson and Woodsman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of the initial script we have these two figures, the first apparently was Mattias' initial love interest who, instead of being Halima, was a soldier in his battalion and the second is the mysterious being who transforms into a reindeer. We don't have any information about the two characters other than the video that can be found by typing: "Frozen 2 (2019) _ Queen Iduna _ Deleted Scene _ Exclusive Clip (HD)" and some art, and nothing else. "Woodsman" is just a nickname.
7 - Some of the deleted scenes were discovered or not
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The production of "Frozen 2" was so chaotic that it generated a documentary where it is revealed that there were several moments deleted from the film, to this day there is not much about it, but we have some books like "The Enchanted Forest". "The Enchanted Forest" is an adaptation of the film, but it is not a very faithful adaptation so much so that there are several differences… Could it be that some of these differences are deleted scenes? There is the origin of the wagon that the group goes to the Enchanted Forest and even new lines between Elsa and Honeymaren, and this was one of the moments that is mentioned as being cut in the documentary. I'm not going to make a guarantee, but perhaps some of these books that portray "Frozen 2" in a slightly different way are actually earlier versions of the script before the cuts? Theories.
8 - Elsa's romantic life in "Frozen 2" and Kristen Bell
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although the theories and campaigns to give Elsa a girlfriend we have nothing official in the second film about Elsa's sexual orientation with Jennifer Lee herself, director, saying that the Snow Queen had a lot on her mind and wasn't ready. But going back to the deleted scenes, there are theories that Elsa would initially have romantic moments with Honeymaren, but they were deleted (in "The Enchanted Forest" the moments between them are new and just new dialogues) but there are some conceptual arts left like these two where Elsa presents intimately magic for the other woman in two stages of the film's development. But there is still this art where she does the same to Ryder which makes Kristen Bell, Anna's voice actress, enter this story, in an interview given to "SiriusXM" again the topic was "Elsa's girlfriend" with Honeymaren being mentioned, but Kristen Bell will mention the theme and ends up saying at the end that Elsa is free to choose and even has more than one option in the Enchanted Forest with her mentioning Ryder. Out of curiosity, the brothers Honeymaren and Ryder have already competed for Elsa in the mobile game called "Disney Magic Kingdoms" where they both try to take the Snow Queen for a walk through the forest, but Honeymaen arrives first, frustrating Ryder who still has to put up with the game itself. mocking him since the name of the mission was "barking up the wrong tree". Later, a festival takes place in Arendelle in this mobile game where Honeymaren offers herself as a saleswoman, wanting to do this just to please Elsa, and Ryder, upon realizing her feelings for the Snow Queen, decides to help… from rival to cupid.
9 - Anna would ask Kristoff to marry her
Tumblr media
In one of the deleted songs Kristoff would talk about his feelings, but in the end it would be her who would ask him to marry her. The song is "Get This Right" and the entire scene, still in progress, can be found on YouTube.
10 - Elsa's death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a rumor that in the film's original script Elsa would not thaw and would end the film frozen dead, giving a hint that she could return in the future. The main clue would be this concept art where Elsa appears unconscious, thawed with Nokk and if you paid attention to what I said, the main proof that the film would end with her frozen is an art of her thawed. There are still those who use the fact that she couldn't stop the wave as proof since the castle was originally going to be rebuilt, but I honestly don't believe it.

Still not over the fact it's not even fully official that Bruni and Nokk /The Nokk are their names fkghkfkdjgdfkgh like, we know that it's their names because we are Frozen lore nerds but the common mortals aka 80% of the audience that will go see Frozen 3 and 4 will either never know that and keep calling them "the salamander" and "the water horse", or the names will finally be said out loud and they'll go "oh, they have names!", an information that will, get it, be dated of at least 4 years

Turns out, that having Heath's hoodie backwards do change the look for the better (although I still like it like normal)
I think a black shirt would look better, but for now I like it.
Tumblr media
The hood itself is now useless, but it is not like it wasn't that useful before.
So yeah, mini re-style, and I also finally took some pictures of him with his new pet
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got this very wonky Bruni(from Frozen 2) figurine at the flea market and decided to repaint it for Heath. I'm not 100% convinced of the golden eyes, but I like how he looks overall.
Name pending, but I sorta have the backstory of the salamander being a gift from Draculaura, and I'm Choosing between Torch, Scorch, Agni, Candle or S'more.

Prompt Game: Elsa - fire
Elsa roamed the Northuldra village, walking slowly as she fiddled with her hands.
Recently, she and Bruni the fire spirit had taken to experimenting with their powers, both separately and together.
Bruni opened his mouth to cast fire into the air. Elsa shot some ice into it, creating a blue, freezing flame.
The salamander and human looked at each other with contented smiles as they marveled at their creation.

Opening up. Living your truth. Falling in love. This is the story of Elsa and Honeymaren. co-written with and art created by Jessi-Skylark and inspired by her Elsamaren Love Comic 2. 3.
Restless spirits….
A quest for answers….
Ahtohollan….
Elsa’s breath hitched, a wave of euphoria sweeping through her body.
Ahtohollan!
The voice.
The fifth spirit.
She was the fifth spirit.
And Anna….
Queen Anna of Arendelle….
The other half of the bridge….
Elsa squinted, a bright light reflecting off the water.
Almost as a revelation.
She thought it could have been a wonderful dream….
But no; that was her reality.
So now what?
“You belong up here.”
The familiar words echoed through her head, sending an electric shock through her body.
Here... she repeated.
It gave her a feeling she never quite had in Arendelle.
Maybe it was the connection to her mother.
Maybe it was unlocking her full powers.
Maybe it was freedom.
Maybe it was....
“Oh…” Elsa realized, a blush coming to her cheeks, “what now?”
She had been so caught up in the celebration of everyone returning to Arendelle; and of Anna stepping into her new role as queen. She didn't give her new life in Northuldra a second thought.
Elsa looked up, watching Kristoff's wagon disappear below a distant hill.
The weight of all the changes hit her.
Everyone she loved was leaving.
And Anna….
Her rock….
Her foundation….
Her everything….
Where did that leave Elsa?
What was she doing?
A tight pain pulled at her chest.
Anna was going back to her old life.
And Elsa….
She….
I get to start my new one, she realized!
A lighter feeling began to replace the panic. What was this?
Relief...?
Excitement...?
Elsa took a deep breath, the crisp fall air tingling in her nose.
It was freedom.
Freedom to just be.
Except….
How inconsiderate of her to impose on these wonderful people like this.
They had just seen the mist lift. Trapped for over thirty years...some had never even heard of the sky...constant battles with the spirits and trapped soldiers.... They were free now, too. Perhaps she had no right to insert herself this way.
"I could live in Ahtohollan..." Elsa thought aloud. The environment was akin to her ice palace, after all.
"Absolutely not!" Honeymaren blurted.
Elsa blinked.
Had she been there the whole time?
Honeymaren's broad leathered shoulder brushed up against Elsa's.
There was a warmth she hadn't quite experienced before.
"What I mean is..." Honeymaren cleared her throat, "you can stay with me. If you'd like."
Her words caught Elsa by surprise.
It was more than a kind gesture, it....
It was new.
Most people shied away from Elsa. She was so accustomed to only being close to Anna. The thought of sharing that with anyone else....
Yet there was something inviting about her confidence.
The way she didn't give it a second thought.
She just....
Offered.
It was somehow both intimidating and wonderful.
Elsa cupped her hands in front of her, biting her tongue. "I wouldn't want to intrude."
"You wouldn't," Honeymaren promised. "It'd be my pleasure. And..."
Pause.
"You're my friend."
Friend.
Such a foreign concept to Elsa.
There had only ever been Anna. But there were still times when....
She had to keep her distance.
To protect her.
To have that with someone else....
Would that be safe?
Would she be safe?
Before Elsa could conjure a response, Yelena intervened. “Don’t be ridiculous. We have a spare hut.”
“Oh…. Of course,” Honeymaren commented.
She almost sounded….
Disappointed, somehow.
“Let me show you,” Yelena gestured in the direction. “But don’t let that salamander in. I don’t trust him yet.”
After all that transpired, why would she?
Elsa lifted her finger, gently rubbing the head of the blue reptile perched on her shoulder. Bruni yipped contently before climbing onto Elsa’s hand and allowing her to set him down. He toddled onto a nearby rock, licked his eye, and disappeared into the forest. Elsa, meanwhile, took her leave behind Yelena.
She couldn’t help but glance back at Honeymaren. “See you tomorrow…?”
She bit her tongue, a throb of anticipation in her chest.
Honeymaren waved back with a smile and then retreated to her hut.
Why did Elsa suddenly want to turn around…?
Elsa closed her eyes, allowing her body to relax.
She arched her back, breathing in deeply.
The sweet scent of nature.
The crisp air.
It almost took her back to when she created her ice palace.
To the first time she could finally breathe.
What a sensation.
“Good morning,” Honeymaren greeted.
Elsa took a sharp breath.
Honeymaren!
She sprung to her feet and straightened her posture, quickly turning to meet her.
“Good morning.”
Was that the best she could come up with? She could be more considerate than that.
‘Honeymaren! How are you this morning?’
Or even, ‘oh! Nice to see you again.’
Maybe not the latter. That was far too informal.
Was it supposed to be difficult to make friends? Was it possible for someone to make her feel simultaneously comfortable and awkward?
“Did you sleep well?”
“I…. I did. Thank you.”
“Good…. Great! Fantastic!”
Honeymaren averted her gaze, lightly kicking at the ground beneath. She looked almost as nervous as Elsa felt.
It was kind of charming.
She was charming.
“Anyway…” Honeymaren fiddled with the end of her braid, “I was just wondering if you wanted a tour. But you probably still need to settle in. And you said last night you wanted to visit Ahtohollan. I’m sure you’d rather–”
“Yes!”
Elsa felt her cheeks go red.
Was that too eager?
But why wouldn’t she be? She had only seen a small portion of the forest. And this was her chance to learn more about Northuldra. Her people. Her mother.
“What I mean to say is….”
She took a breath.
“I’d love to.”
Pause.
“To go with you…. I mean…. Learn more about you…r people…or mine…ours…. Northuldra, rather.”
Elsa cleared her throat, regaining her composure.
Get it together, Elsa.
She blinked, noticing Honeymaren offered her hand out and a warm smile further drawing her in. Elsa found her gaze shifting towards Honeymaren’s hand. It was so tempting to reach out. Would she feel as strong as it looked? Or perhaps in a warm embrace like one of Olaf's hugs? She felt her hand begin to reach out, only to instinctively pull it back.
But there was no question in her mind that she would follow Honeymaren.
To explore the forest!
Because it was her home.
And now Elsa’s as well.
She listened to Honeymaren tell her about Northuldra. What they did. How they lived. Helping each other. Taking care of the reindeer. She guided her through the forest. Where they’d herd reindeer. How they’d find food. The best bushes to find cloudberries. She showed her the views. The hills and cliffs where they could stare into the distance. The clearings where peaceful creatures gathered. And, at the end of the day, what was perhaps the most breathtaking sunset Elsa had ever seen.
When Elsa saw the forest for the first time, it impressed her how beautiful it was.
That was when the mist still engulfed it; when they had no idea what they were walking into.
But now…looking out across the horizon….
The sky was so much brighter.
The air was easier to breathe.
The wind spirit greeted her with open arms. In front of her was an ocean of trees, and the occasional earth giant beginning to rise from its slumber for the day.
In the other direction was a sparkling yet ominous sea where her ice powers bonded with the Nokk’s. The water horse led her to Ahtohallan – a place both sacred and familiar.
This land was unlike anything Elsa had ever seen. She was completely in awe. Words could barely describe its magic.
“Wow…” she breathed softly. “Beautiful.”
“Yes…. Very….” Honeymaren’s voice faded.
It almost sounded as though she, too, were experiencing this for the first time.
Maybe she was.
How different everything must have looked under the natural light.
What the mist no longer hid from them.
What else was out there to discover?
What else was out there waiting for Honeymaren?
Elsa’s brows furrowed; why did that leave a sour feeling in her stomach?
She turned her head…. What a relief; Honeymaren was still there.
But why was she staring at Elsa rather than the glow of twilight?
She should say something.
“You…you’re very lucky to have grown up here,” Elsa managed to comment.
“Hm…?” It seemed to take Honeymaren a moment before fully accepting the compliment. “What makes you say that?”
Maybe it was the contrast between Northuldra and Arendelle.
Maybe it was how much Elsa had grown over the past few years.
Maybe it was the change in her powers, the connection to nature.
Maybe it was this side of her she never knew existed.
“I feel alive,” Elsa confessed. “I can be…. Me.”
She thought about how she felt when she first ran from Arendelle.
"I had to hide my powers my whole life, for fear they would hurt someone again. That I would hurt someone. But when my powers lashed out, when everyone saw them.... Saw me.... They were afraid. So I ran. It wasn't until I was alone on the North Mountain that I could discover the true me. There were no restrictions.... No one to hurt or scare.... My ice...nature...flowed through me. I could create anything, crystalize whatever I could think of into being. Stairways.... Chandeliers…. My gown.... A palace.... Olaf! I...."
She took in a breath.
"It was in nature that I found the real me. I could let go and follow my heart."
She exhaled.
"Then I heard the voice. The spirits."
She lifted a hand, small ice sculptures forming in her palm and reliving each interaction with the spirits.
"The way my magic could collide or fuse with each one. The forest pushed me beyond anything I knew. My magic was challenged. I was challenged. It went beyond my ice magic. I could manipulate water. It was...nothing like I could have ever known in Arendelle." Elsa paused, suddenly aware how much she had blurted out all at once.
Her heart slammed into her chest, realizing how much she shared.
Had she said too much?
She glanced at Honeymaren, meeting her deep brown eyes. The way they stared at her…into her soul…. Elsa never felt more exposed.
A soft smile came across Honeymaren’s face. And just like that, Elsa felt a wave of relief wash over her.
“Elsa, you’re the fifth spirit. You are nature. And Nature has been waiting for you to return to the forest.”
How was it that Honeymaren could say something so simple and suddenly the whole world made sense?
Elsa’s chest felt infinitely lighter.
Honeymaren reached her hand out, gently taking Elsa’s and held flat in her wide palms. They were warm. Strong. Safe. Her long, elegant fingers contrasted the callous skin from her work in the forest.
Elsa's usual instinct to shy away faded.
Something about it felt....
Almost familiar.
She brushed her free hand against one of the trees. The bark felt rough on her skin. Yet it could never compare to how coarse the castle walls were. She could sense the temperature dropping in her body, moments of her past flashing through her mind.
"I may have grown up in a castle, but it always felt more like a cage. Anything could trigger my magic. It could have been as simple as wanting to build a snowman with my sister or as natural as waking up from a nightmare. Any emotion could result in disastrous consequences. I could hurt Anna again. Hurt anyone. Conceal; don't feel. It was the only way my parents could help. Still...."
'Monster!'
She remembered the looks on peoples' faces when she was outed.
The fear.
The shock.
Had her parents ever...?
Was she wrong for simply existing?
But they wouldn't have attempted the trek to Ahtohollan. They wouldn't have gone to such lengths if they were scared.
If they didn't have that unconditional love for her.
Her fingers clenched, involuntarily tightening her grip on Honeymaren's hand. And the ice inside dissolved.
Love: the basis of her magic.
Freedom: the silent thing she craved.
She gained control and, with that, her life.
"On the North Mountain.... Here in the forest.... Inside Ahtohollan.... I never had to worry about any of that. The expectations.... The secrets.... Pantomime and pageantry.... Isolation.... Loneliness.... None of that crossed my mind. It never had to for a second. Because there, I wasn't trapped anymore. I could just.... Breathe."
“I didn’t realize….”
The sound of Honeymaren’s voice was almost like a soft blanket.
There was no indication of pity.
It was more along the lines of….
Regret.
“I mean…I remember Olaf mentioned something….”
Elsa pulled in her lips.
Right.
That.
Not at all embarrassing.
Sweet and well-meaning.
Enough to get the story across without oversharing.
And very much an Olaf thing to do.
But not embarrassing.
Who was she kidding?
Elsa scrunched her nose. “Olaf can be….”
How to capture the essence of a live, magical, talking snowman…?
“Eccentric?” Honeymaren finished.
That was one word.
Elsa attempted to hold back a giggle. “A little.”
“I…couldn’t begin to imagine living like that,” Honeymaren said. “A secret like that….” She let go of Elsa’s hand and swerved around a nearby log, taking a seat on top of it. A sudden chill flickered atop Elsa’s hands, one that she had not felt before. “It’s a lot to ask of anyone. Especially a child. That wasn’t fair to you. You should have never had to think of your powers in that way. They deserve more than that…. You deserve more than that.”
Elsa brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
What a supportive sentiment.
Not that Elsa hadn’t heard anything like that before.
Anna told her all the time how much she admired her powers.
She never looked anything short of amazed with what Elsa could do.
Even after all those years hidden away, Anna could have had so much resentment for Elsa.
But she didn’t.
She knew her.
Now here was Honeymaren….
The first person Elsa was genuinely getting to know….
Who looked at Elsa’s magic with equal parts amazement and curiosity….
Not once since she met her was there ever a gaze of confusion or disgust.
And, despite the short amount of time, absolutely no indication of distrust.
Just acceptance.
She saw Elsa as more than her powers.
Someone more than a queen.
She was just….
A person.
“I think that’s the appeal here,” Elsa admitted. She sat down next to Honeymaren on the log, leaving a bit of space between. “Knowing what I do now…. I wonder how different everything would be if I grew up here. I wonder if…. If I would have had a chance.”
That sounded so idealistic, didn’t it?
“It might not be as different as you think.”
Elsa tilted her head, watching Honeymaren’s face fall.
Oh….
Elsa overstepped, hadn’t she?
“It felt like a cage here at times, too. The mist…. The soldiers…. The raging spirits…. We’ve been trapped in a war that began before I was born. We were once a peaceful people. We lived in harmony with nature. We respected the spirits. We honored them. But when the war broke out…everything changed. They were not our enemies in the way Arendelle was, but we still feared them. And while they could do just as much damage, they didn’t understand. They were merely reacting. And we were caught in a crossfire. Arendelle…they knew what they were doing. They had control. But they chose to continue. So from a young age, I was trained to be a warrior. Even before I could walk, I was fighting.”
Honeymaren glanced up, a few loose ends slipping from beneath the comfort of her hat. There was no malice in her voice. She spoke as if it were the most obvious thing. Few emotions were conveyed in her face. Whether it was acceptance over the events that transpired and what her life had become, or the fear of letting down her guard as Elsa once – and at times, continued to – struggled with, that was unclear. Most of all, there was understanding. There were parallels in their lives. From the shackles of their homes; to growing up in fear; to leading their people; down to the way that, as Elsa’s ice glistened all around her, Honeymaren’s eyes sparkled like chocolate dipped in caramel.
The sunlight highlighted the most beautiful features in both.
“I can relate to the expectations of my people,” Honeymaren continued, “putting on a show and acting stronger than I might appear. As one of the few children left of the oldest families, there was always pressure to be the ‘next great leader’. As if I’m supposed to be better than anyone else or that I’m the one single person who can make all the difference. One wrong move and everyone will know. And I not only let them down but destroy their trust. And Northuldra…. Well, I suppose it couldn’t get much worse than it was.”
Elsa’s brows lowered.
“I didn’t mean to insinuate anything,” she apologized softly. “That was unfair to you.”
Just because she hoped things would be better for her in Northuldra did not invalidate their experiences, nor the grief they carried.
Honeymaren didn’t hesitate. “You’ve every right to feel that way. Why wouldn’t you want to feel more connected to nature when you are the epitome of it? Perhaps things could have been different.”
Her voice shifted. It conveyed more ease and light than Elsa heard all day.
Honeymaren loved her people; that much had been clear from what Elsa had seen.
But all day Honeymaren spoke of their lives there. There was this….
Her natural voice was gentle and warm, absolutely.
But the contrast between then and now….
There was just something she hadn’t heard before.
It was almost….
Happier.
“But look at where we are now.” Honeymaren gestured towards the sky, “Elsa, you freed us. You did this. You and Anna.” She lowered her hand and gave her a proud smile. “You freed all of us. Yourself included.”
Maybe….
Anna deserved far more credit; Elsa believed.
But Elsa could acknowledge that Anna was able to do that because of the steps Elsa took.
Elsa may have taken a risk by going too far, but she found out the truth.
Anna was the one able to act on it.
She did what needed to be done.
And Elsa, in turn, was able to save Arendelle.
No longer did they have to live in the past.
They could move on.
And finally begin to heal.
“We can be our full selves now, Elsa.”
Our full selves….
What was that like?
It sounded so….
“I can…”
Elsa’s voice faded, eyebrows furrowing in thought.
“We can…. Follow our hearts….”
It sounded so cliché.
Like something Anna would say.
When had she felt that?
This pounding in her chest?
Drowning out her voice?
Completely taking over?
“And go wherever nature leads us….”
She brought herself to meet Honeymaren’s gaze.
Following nature….
Those eyes….
Have they always…?
If Elsa got a closer look….
Would they still glow like honey?
Her eyes descended down Honeymaren’s face.
Her round nose.
Splattered freckles.
Full lips.
Just a little closer….
Follow our hearts.
Follow nature.
How enticing.
Those eyes….
She felt a jolt of electricity in her finger.
Something unexpected was surging through her.
From the corner of her eye, she saw her pinky touching Honeymaren’s.
Yet she couldn’t bring herself to pull away.
What was this feeling?
This….
Connection…?
“Hi there!”
Elsa jerked back, pulling her arms into her chest.
Where in the spirits did Ryder come from?
“I’ve been looking for you guys everywhere!”
“Ryder…” Honeymaren groaned.
“Hmph…make some room…thank you….”
The trance broke. Elsa swallowed a nervous laugh. This had to have been important or he wouldn’t have interrupted them–
Their conversation.
“You guys have got to try these new berries I found,” Ryder exclaimed. He picked one out of a basket that he had perched in his lap and gave a light squeeze. “I had no idea there were so many of these around, they’re probably the best berries I ever had! They’re like this sweet, squishy thing with some kind of little jam juice inside…. And with no seeds! It’s like reindeer kisses on a leaf! Who wants in? Honeymaren? Elsa? Come on, you know you wanna try some of this….”
All of that….
The interruption….
The abruptness….
The excitement….
For berries?
Elsa forced a smile, convincing herself to try a berry.
If anything, to silently encourage Ryder to shut up.
Hmm….
He may have had a point.
Yes, these berries were quite divine.
Even if they weren’t chocolate.
Or honey….

Lab Partners: Ollie doesn’t talk about it much, but they are massive science nerd. They particularly excel at chemistry. They would really like to have some people that also are as science focused as they get.
Enemies: It’s not often you see Ollie not smile at someone. But oh boy, did this person do something to make steam come out of Ollie’s ears.
Wanted Plots / Plot Ideas*
Foster Family: It’s no secret that Ollie has been in and out of foster homes for their whole life. There were people that they remember, and people that they have chosen to forget. Except for this person. It’s been years since they’ve seen them, but the moment they do. It feels like home.
Pen-Pal: (preferably someone older than Ollie) Ollie started writing to this pen-pal as a class project when they were ten. Fourteen years later, Ollie is still writing back and forth with this person. They know everything that Ollie has gone through. From foster home, to foster home. To being the first person that Ollie came out to. Ollie considers this person their family and a vital part of their life. They just, haven’t quite met yet.
Taken Connections
Mother: Elsa Arendelle adopted Ollie. Sister: Anna Arendelle. Found Family: Morgan Holligans:
Other:
Please someone bring in Sven!
Also it’d be cool to maybe get Bruni? The little salamander from Frozen 2!*

3D Character Design Research - Appealing Secondary Characters (Companions)
If there's one thing I've noticed in lots of films (mainly Disney) it's that the secondary characters/companions of the main people are, more often than not, the stars of the show. This could be due to a number of factors such as their iconic designs, their appearance, and their screen time.
Bruni - Frozen
Tumblr media
Bruni (the fire spirit) is a blue salamander who makes his appearance in the film 'Frozen 2'. He is 1 of the 4 spirits found in the Enchanted Forest and right from his first appearance on screen the audience falls in love with him. The reason for this is that the animators' goal was to make him 'as cute as possible'. His appearance also plays a big part in his cuteness as his tiny legs, wide mouth, and large eyes are the main features that make this character so adorable and appealing. His colour is an interesting one though, as he is blue yet he is the spirit of fire, so you would think he should be orange or red.
Olaf - Frozen
Tumblr media
Unlike the other companions, Olaf is the only secondary Character who is not an Animal, he is a snowman. Olaf was created and brought to life by Elsa, but he is a symbol of Anna and Elsa's love for each other as well as the strong sisterly bond they had when they were kids. Olaf may not have been the main character in the Frozen films, but he certainly stood out from the crowd with his energetic and always happy personality. Although his design (being a snowman) is very simple, it's the way in which he was animated that brought his unique personality to life.
Pascal - Tangled
Tumblr media
I really like how the creators of the Disney film 'Tangled' gave Rapunzel a companion because otherwise, she would have been incredibly lonely being completely on her own in the tower almost 24/7.
Pascal (as seen in the image above), is a green chameleon who, although he doesn't have much screen time in the film, is a big part of Rapunzel's life. I really love how his Character was designed as he has all the features of a real-life chameleon whilst also being a cartoon. Similar to Bruni, he also was designed with very large eyes in comparison to his head, and I believe it's the size of the eyes that contributes to making a character look more cute and appealing.
Niffler - Fantastic Beasts
Tumblr media
Niffler is the companion of Newt Scamander, who, unlike the above Characters, was designed and created for a 'live-action' film, therefore, he isn't as cartoon-like as the characters listed above, as he was designed and textured to look like a creature who existed in the real world amongst humans. Although Niffler is a mythical creature, his character design was inspired by the young of an Echidna (otherwise known as a 'Puggle'). Niffler may not have large eyes compared to the other characters I looked at, but his naughty personality and thieving nature within the film are what help this cute and adorable creature to be so appealing to the audience.
Overall, I can conclude that it isn't just the appearance of a character that makes it appealing (such as having large eyes), but also the nature and personality given to that character within Animation that brings out their unique self in a film. Which also makes each character different and stand out in its own way.

For the ask game: "Bruni"...
LOL @bad-at-names-and-faces you so know what this is about! It came from a discussion on the Frozen Ink server when @bad-at-names-and-faces (I think?) posted this meme:
Tumblr media
Kristoff and Elsa are coworkers at Oaken's gas station and tackle shop. Elsa talks to animals, and Kristoff talks for animals, so the two became fast friends. One day, a salamander crawls across the cash register and settles next to the fresh pot of coffee for warmth. Elsa and Kristoff get attached to the little guy and do everything they can to protect him from Oaken and the customers.
Elsa's sister Anna is always zipping in and out of the shop with her yuppie boyfriend (think "guy with a boat" from SNL), and of course Kristoff has a huge crush on her.
It's mostly a Kristoff & Elsa story (I've been aching to write one for a while) with background Kristanna, maybe some background Elsamaren, too? Most likely set in Galveston (island town off the coast of Texas). Modern AU, Bruni the salamander actually survives being lit on fire and other such magical elements. Basically, total crack and best friend hijinx. And I will probably be an expert on salamanders if I ever write this thing!

And the new episodes of "Frozen Podcat" have arrived:
5 - UNREST IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST
Tumblr media
It's finally lunch time for the soldiers, but they want to hear the story
At the fire Disa tries to think of a plan to solve the fire, but Elsa uses her powers which again makes Disa amazed when she sees the Snow Queen
While Elsa contains the fire, Anna and Disa find Bruni and the Snow Queen calms the salamander in the same way she did in F2, and with that done the fire goes out
At Arendelle Castle, Mattias reports on the current situation of the kingdom after all this confusion, and in the end he praises Kristoff for his role as leader, leaving the blonde embarrassed
Wolfgang while helping to collect the debris laments Magnus's disappearance, until suddenly Gale returns. The Duke's nephew has to be calmed down by Olaf and Kristoff, and the Lord himself consoles Astrid, the other magpie
Wolfgang once again mentions Kristoff's proposal to become an industrialist, even talking about when he himself would inherit the Duke's titles, but his cousin Albert stole his place and he says that this is the first lesson he will teach Kristoff: be careful with Albert
Astrid, on Wolfgang's orders, begins to help collect the debris, but takes Olaf's arm instead and takes some time to return it, but the snowman doesn't take it personally
And then a rain of frogs begins in the kingdom
Back to the soldiers Mattias explains how a "rain of frogs" is just a situation where frogs are carried by the wind which gives the impression that they are falling from the sky like water, etc.
In the Enchanted Forest, the trio of women find pieces of scorched metal and just seeing one of them irritates Bruni, confirming that they are the cause of her outburst. The pieces are also made of copper like the mechanical spider. Elsa believes that the automatons are visitors from Arendelle that Anna allowed to enter the kingdom, she fears that she will not be able to deal with it and that she needs to understand this situation, but Anna supports her and they promise to deal with it together
The women find a trail of pieces and eventually the automaton that Anna finds very similar to Wolfgang's mechanized lamps, but before they can continue talking the Earth Giants awaken.
6 - MAGNUS' RETURN
Tumblr media
The soldiers are very interested in the Earth Giants, which makes Mattias want to tell his story about them, F2, but returns to the current story
Elsa has difficulty sensing the giants and Disa even considers using the vibrations of the ground to find them, but eventually they manage to find them just by looking. They are afraid that the giants will arrive in Arendelle, they don't know if it is possible, but Elsa doesn't doubt it. Disa questions if Elsa can control them, but she just says that she can figure out what's bothering them and fix it. Anna cites the destruction of the dam as an example of the strength of giants
They notice a mechanical reindeer near the giants and, to save it, Elsa creates an ice rink and the three women go skating to get there quickly. Disa even questions why Elsa doesn't move like that normally, but Elsa says that Nokk is faster. But they don't arrive in time and the reindeer is crushed and to the trio's surprise the giants seem to have calmed down and return to the forest
They cut open the reindeer discovering that it had raw copper, implying that it was mining the material, which makes them openly suspicious of Wolfgang. The sisters fear that Kristoff and Mattias could be in danger because of Wolfgang, and even though they believe that Magnus could be a spy, Anna sends a message to Mattias warning him about Wolfgang
At the castle, Astrid laments Magnus' absence while Kristoff coordinates the removal of the frogs. Olaf ends up getting in the way as he adopted some frogs and told him his secrets, but the frog runs away from Olaf
Kristoff laments that Anna cannot see the rain of frogs that he identifies as Gale's actions. As Wolfgang questions Mattia about not going to protect Anna, the conversation soon turns to Kristoff and his idea of making him an industrialist. Wolfgang advises Kristoff to hire bodyguards and official tasters to deal with the dangers of being an ice collector, but Kristoff denies the advice. The ice collector believes that being an industrialist would make him focus only on work, which he doesn't want in life. Wolfgang understands his thoughts, but as he speaks he seems to talk more about himself than about Kristoff
Sven arrives, and soon after the people of Sankerhus who are distraught without their queen. Following Wolfgang's advice, Kristoff goes to talk to the population, but ends up getting complicated, Olaf doesn't help, and ends up being saved by Mattias, who has more leadership capacity.
They return to find Wolfgang playing a musical instrument and enjoying popcorn and cappuccino? (I was confused about it but I think it was cappuccino) Mattias helps himself and so does Sven after some confusion
Mattias praises Wolfgang's musical performance and the Duke's nephew says that his dream was music and opera, but he ended up becoming a man in the industry. He even tries to end the conversation, but Kristoff shows interest, which surprises Wolfgang who talks more about his dreams and desires about music and opera until Magnus arrives. Magnus brings a letter from Anna which he refuses to hand over until Wolfgang intervenes, the letter reveals the discoveries about Wolfgang's machines in the Enchanted Forest which leads Mattias to order his arrest, but the Duke's nephew pleading innocence and orders his birds to collect evidence to prove your innocence

Inktober 2022 day 1 🐲 "Gargoyle"
"And I'm telling you, it could work if you merged Bruni and the Giants together!"
Elsa blinked astonishingly at Olaf's suggestion. "It... Wouldn't." She then shook her head. "It doesn't work like that, not even remotely. Magic doesn't... merge!"
Anna shrugged next to her. "You can control water and wind, in a way, no?"
Elsa blabbered as she tried to answer her correctly, but couldn't. Her sister had a point, yet didn't grasp it correctly. She gave up when another incoherence came to her mind.
"For the Giants to bring the... Stone part to it, I get it." Admitted Elsa. "But Bruni looks like a salamander, not a dragon!"
"Same thing." Replied Anna and Olaf with the same voice, their tone both serious and childish. They exchanged a smirk.
Elsa sighed. She rubbed the top of her nose, and Kristoff chuckled next to her. He put his hand on his friend's shoulder. "Forget them. They're really obsessed with the idea. It almost was the only conversation topic on our way here."
Olaf raised a twig finger to be more precise. "No, we talked about hawks too."
"Hawks?" Frowned Elsa.
Anna laughed. "Oh, right. He has this theory that Gale was a hawk before and she then turned to... Well, wind, and lost her shape. I mean... Not like she lost her shape. You know. But all the others are animals!"
The Fifth Spirit wanted to sigh again at her ramble, but she widened her eyes in shock. "Are you insinuating that the giants are animals?"
Kristoff winced next to her, and Anna blushed deeply. She didn't mean to disrespect the entities, especially since Elsa explained her that she technically was the Fifth Spirit too.
"No, no, of course not, it's not what I... Nevermind." She blabbered, and continued to unpack the wagon next to her family.
They didn't add anything and helped her unpack the wagon. Once their gifts for the Northuldra were disposed in the camp, the ground suddenly trembled.
Anna gasped and instinctively crouched and cowered, afraid that a Giant had come to crush her. She eventually stopped squinting and relaxed her features at the just as sudden stop, and widened her eyes when she saw several Northuldra looking behind her with smiles.
The Queen turned around and saw that a Giant had approached and was reaching out to her. But instead of balling his fist to punch or slam her, he was holding something as tall as her in his palm. She blinked and looked at it, then at Elsa, who was chuckling. Olaf excitedly clapped his hands, and Kristoff smirked at the Giant's gift.
The gentle Giant drew a huge smile, and deposited the newly-made gargoyle on the ground. It was composed of several stones of different sizes added in a pile, like a cairn. It was a miracle that it stood, and maybe magical, but it was beautifully made. Anna recognized it as a specialty from the Giants, and was very touched.
"Aw, thank you so much!" She beamed, and passed a hand along the stone of one of the Giant's fingers.
She then widened her eyes, and turned to Kristoff. "Wait. How the hell are we going to bring that home?"
