Answering your questions and comments! Pt2
This is for most of the anon questions I got!
Tumblr media
I actually haven’t considered that! Part of me wanted to say accents aren’t a thing in Unova, but then I remembered the infamous nugget bros...and their catchphrase “nuggetabout it!” It just makes me wish every single character in Unova was heavily accented in all variations. But to answer the question, I haven’t given it any thought at all so I can’t say!
Tumblr media
I’ve answered this before I think? But my point remains the same. My art of them features them exclusively in a platonic way!  However, I don’t mind the ships, and I don’t mind people seeing it in such a way. I get comments all the time where people joke about “Elesa and her two malethings + her gf Skyla” Hell even I joke about it sometimes. But it’s all in good fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love all this Ramses love. He IS the best and you’re both 100% correct!!
Tumblr media
wags finger. this is inappropriate behavior.
Tumblr media
I don’t have a discord server (don’t plan to make one) but I share a space with my partner in their vtuber server! It’s a place where we share our work, promote ourselves and others, and chat a lot about fandom stuff. If you’re interested in joining, send me a DM!
Tumblr media
OUghguUGHhh thank youuu.
Tumblr media
OKAY. I’ll be cynical for a second: From what I’ve noticed (this is a small observation, not a factoid) I think a lot of submas fans are new to Pokemon…so are maybe not used to gamefreak being huge disappointments yet. 😩 in my experience, they tend to drop lore or plot points and then ignore them for years.
I have no expectations for the sake of not getting my hopes up for nothing. ;-; though, it would be wonderful considering the themes. Even a subtle nod would make the submas tag trend on twitter without a doubt LOL
Tumblr media
Wuahh…thank youuu…i love drawing… LOVE !!
Tumblr media
EEEEE! I haven’t had the chance to draw up more big gay unovan family stuff yet, but Im glad its enjoyable to other gen 5 lovers. I do love imagining all region characters knowing each other in some way. 🥰 everyone has differing opinions on ingo and emmet but they can agree unanimously they are little weirdos.
Tumblr media
;-;)9 its what im here for,,,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a whole comic script written for it…very emotional…verrrrryyyyy…gestures familyyyyy themed. But ah, we’ll see if I ever get to it!!! Sitting atop my pile of unfinished projects.
Tumblr media
AAAAAAaah I super appreciate this!!! You’re so sweet!! Thank you!!
I hope I can keep making you smile.. its a very big motivator… ;w;
Tumblr media
YEAAAA GOOD GOOD GOOD. THAT WAS THE INTENTION. THATS CRAZY THAT YOU CAN HEAR IT TOO LOL like obviously its near impossible to make sounds with comics, but I’m glad THAT part got to your brain HAHA!!
Tumblr media
Fellow burgh lover i see you, I understand you, and i respect you.
Tumblr media
Hahah, I haven’t really given it much thought, but I genuinely believe that three of them are some of the toughest trainers in Unova. I would say they got far enough to reach victory road. The twins’ talent speaks for themselves being battle facility bosses, but Elesa is nothing to sneeze at either. Since i like to HC them as childhood friends, it only feels fitting that Elesa was not only able to keep up with the twins, but probably bested them several times.
Tumblr media
Maybe some daaaayyy….i love Adaman’s design (even if wayyy to many of the charcters are wayyy to pale eeergh)
Im always thinkin to myself i need to have comic ideas in order to draw certain characters. But I forget I can just … draw them……without giving them a reason to be. SO maybe someday haha! Im glad you like the way I drew him though lol!
Tumblr media
It’s not so much that its canon (don’t believe much has been confirmed about them except they are clown inspired and have receding hairlines) but it’s apparent and obvious. I would dare say it’s not even debatable, but with these sort of headcanons, you have to consider that the people that feel strongly about it are more likely autistic themselves and therefore know more about the subject.
I recommend reading posts by @/1863-project! They go into detail about every detail and honestly it’s allowed me to learn a lot about how to write the characters!
https://1863-project.tumblr.com/post/676301481415262208/ingo-and-emmet-are-both-autistic-and-i-will-die-on
Tumblr media
He’d eat his hat, I think.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Any kinda ugly, kinda clashing patterns... Turtle necks, or long coats. Outfits that are different, but still kinda match.
OH eelektross jacket…..
Anything that says transman swag…lmaooo
Im not very fashion forward myself, but I try to have fun with it. And when I draw them, i have unspoken hc for when they dressed themselves or when Elesa had an opinion.
Tumblr media
I did draw them doin the based ball once…
But honestly, I don’t particularly think any of them is huge on sports apart from maybe getting excited by extension.
Unless of courss battling considered a sport?
Tumblr media
Personally. I don’t think either of them gets mad often. Frustrated, annoyed, and cranky maybe…but all the way angry?
Kind of interesting to think about. I’m unsure if I’d describe it as scary. More so intimidating because it’s so rare to witness!
I’m reminded of how passively Ingo handled Melli’s fuckery…his customer service voice fell back in time with him. It can be attributed to his politeness, but it certainly takes a great level of patience. So yeah, honestly, I think Ingo would never allow anyone to see him completely angry. Similarly for Emmet, even though he does tend to be more expressive.
Tumblr media
As of today, my commissions are currently closed!! But i welcome all inquiries!
Tumblr media
It feels nice and warm… ;-;
Tumblr media
Ah…………that description is so sweet…….thank you!!
Sadly i did picture that twilight scene with edward and bella JNFNDN BUT THE SENTIMENT STILL STANDS.
Tumblr media
Tis a very very cute thought!! She’ll adopt some of their train themed phrases..since some of them are technically puns. Heehee..
Tumblr media
Indeed. 🐷
Tumblr media
THANK YOUUU!!!! AAAAAAA!! Thank you so so much!! Sometimes i worry more about the writing than the art itself, so it means a lot!!

Rating Arcade Spirits Love Interests (some spoilers)
Wat up, I dated every LI in the first game and now I'm chucking this into the void to have it somewhere, because this is a niche fandom
S Tier: Gavin - was my last "route" and I definitely feel like I saved the best for last, in terms of look and characterizations he is a cut above, and plot-wise the scene where you get to defend IRIS to him is invaluable. I'm making him my canon route for that alone, but I also think his chapter 7 scenes are among the strongest of the LIs. I'm putting him in this tier even despite him not really being my type! I really like that he's 0 to 100 in relationships and he's calculating but not cold. It's cute. He's cute.
A Tier: Ashley - is very much my type on the other hand! Which makes sense because their personality traits are the same basic combination my character wound up being when I tried being myself. They even suggest going to an escape room, though this is only if you friendzone them, so that's a pity! As for them as a romantic partner, I appreciated that on the scale of innocent clean fun vs steamy makeouts, they were closer to the middle than quite a few of the other characters who swung way further to either side of the pendulum. Their exploration of gender via cosplay was really interesting and compelling. In fact, I was so there for it that I wound up docking "points" because I didn't really feel like they followed through in the end. Maybe they wanted Ash to be relatable to the highest number of people, and I respect we need to take them as they are. But their breakdown was the absolute worst emotionally, so I thought the payoff could have been better. I suppose there's no need to rush, but still….
Percy - certainly commands attention even if you didn't do his route, doesn't he…!? Though I did, of course, and his story makes me rate him very high because, well, it's just more intriguing, and his situation is already so rough that it makes the parts of the game where the characters are going through a rocky patch flow a lot better compared to many of the others where the scene felt kind of forced. In my opinion, he beats out Ashley in plot but loses to them somewhat when it comes to charm…. Mostly because he's a bit one note, though he has a strong story it gets to a point where that's the only thing he talks about. But he's very sweet and doesn't entirely lose in terms of charm. I think it's especially cute that he seemingly gave Ari his jacket in the beach scene artwork. And he has a complex personality and worldview that I like.
B Tier: Queen Bee - haha get it, BEE TIER… (quirky +1) Ahem. Honestly I probably just didn't see her at her best because she was one of the two I was going after in my first run (Naomi being the other one). Because I didn't really vibe with the character creator as representing myself (it really takes me out of customization when glasses aren't an available option!) I was roleplaying as my super-sweet and nerdy OC, so the MC's personality didn't fit her AT ALL. It was very funny to have her gloat about what enemy-annihilating bad-asses we were for our gentle heart to heart approach in the final chapter though. All that aside, I thought her events were cool and meaningful, her romance scenes were spicy and the negotiation of boundaries by both MC and LI was intriguing. Basically, she's a completely solid LI that I have no complaints about. It just didn't really hit me over the head like the others I rated higher than it.
C Tier: Naomi - Ahh, my first LI of the game. She's a cute character for sure, and I still think her confession scene was one of the best. They sure were trying something with her tension against Gavin too, I guess? But I'm sympathetic to him so I really couldn't get behind her most of the time, haha. She was only my first route because I was roleplaying. The penguin statue was the dumbest couple argument in the game and felt super forced, but it probably didn't help that she was my first route so it came out of nowhere. I respect what they did with her date as it suited her character, but it could have been more exciting. Even so, I think most people who play this will pick her as their first route since she's a classic gamer and a sweetheart. Though I'm aware there are some people with the perspective that the only asian character in the game shouldn't have been a glasses nerd that gives you bento boxes. That may be true, but at least for me, I thought her nerdiness seemed more like a relatable level of neurodivergence than anything stereotypical.
Teo - He was one of the characters I didn't bond with in my first run, and he didn't really grab me when I went after him either. Like he's really nice, and his issue is canonically that he's too nice, and that's… about it! I think he's a solid route like QB, and admittedly the romance in his route blew me away with how good it was compared to most of the others. He's good eye candy and a good date. I just wish there was more interesting stuff going on with him, he didn't feel like he had a lot of plot relevance. The plot relevance he did have was… being friends with a Lesbian Cop? What is this, a Disney movie? He also had some of the more awkward voice acting out of the cast, imo. ETA: I'm actually a big fan of dancing games, and I'm mad that you don't get to play one with him even once. There is a regular dancing scene but it's not the same!
D Tier:
Juniper - I'm so sad putting her down here because she honestly has my favorite design of all the characters, what a pretty and cute plus size girl, we love to see it. I did have a good laugh when her confession was the exact mirror of mine. But there's almost no difference between her as a lover and the friendship route, and while I can appreciate that possibly being because they are trying to put friendship and romance on an equal level, it does make it feel redundant to get both of those endings. And it definitely felt like there was less content for Juniper as a result. Honestly the romance is so tertiary to the main plot that it doesn't feel earned in a lot of these, but it's the worst when you've decided to romance Junie. I like her better on the friendship route. And… uh, personal taste, but maybe Polybius got my hopes up too much when it called her a yandere…. It wouldn't have fit the tone of this game at all, but I'd have been happy if she was haha!

Ok so this may be sappy, SUPER sappy... in fact, it's absolutely sappy... but the one thing I love right now the most in the world is the cr fandom, and narrowing it down, the perc'ahlia fandom. Everyone's so welcoming and kind and amazing... it almost feels too good to be true. I've got a billion irons in the fire and it's the one thing I can say I don't feel out of control when participating in. You play a big part in that and I'm so happy for you and your big milestone! <3 -percivalium
That is honestly so sweet! This fandom is such a blessing in so many ways. Like there are so many talented people, and I know you know that 'cause we just talked about it. lol XD
You are so very talented. Your stuff is always so tasty, and I know I've said this, but the piece with the coat was SO SEXY AND GOOD, and AHHHHH! I don't have words for what they do to me- I just want to eat them all!
You are so sweet and encouraging, and I've really enjoyed our interactions. I love seeing you on my dash and in my notes. Your comments always mean a lot to me and I really hope you know I appreciate you and that you can stop by whenever you want to.
want one?
(blacklist katie spreads love if you don’t want to see)

anidala and ichihime for the duo thingy!
this is so funny bc these are my most beloved and one of my most unbeloved ..... which makes them a perfect combo
let's start with ichihime
Tumblr media
honestly, I feel like if I didn't like ulquihime so much I would be more neutral about it lol
my biggest gripe with it is just that it's so boring, and really poorly developed. in particular, I feel like this ship does nothing for Orihime's character development, which just makes me sad bc I love her a lot and want her to have an interesting and emotionally challenging arc – which is where the wasted potential part comes in for me. idk, it just annoys me that Kubo dangled a fascinating dynamic over our heads in Hueco Mundo and crafted an absolutely gorgeous relationship with a perfect narrative arc but then doubled down on the "schoolgirl's first crush" trope. the discourse about it is super irritating, especially since I don't care for either of the couples in the ship war (Byakuya and Rukia ftw), and made me dislike it even more bc of how much attention it commands in the fandom. so unfortunately it's basically a 0/10 per my personal taste. I don't really dislike it otherwise – there's a cute fandom, and I appreciate that it's conceptually sweet, it's just not for me.
and then on the absolute opposite end, anidala!
Tumblr media
oh my GOD I fucking love anidala so much holy shit
[head in hands] I can't even explain like they truly make me so crazy. their relationship deals with an insane proportion of my most beloved and favourite tropes – love at first sight, seemingly unrequited love and pining, forbidden relationship, sneaking around, them vs the world, accidental pregnancy, deep and all-encompassing angst? immaculate. I really like that both Anakin and Padmé are deeply fucked up in parallel ways; they're each incredibly devoted to the other, but the way that influences their decisions and thought processes sets them up for failure. the tragedy of their relationship is fascinating, and I really enjoy all the diversity of characterisation in the fandom as to what their collapse looked and felt like. sometimes (like most of my favourite ships) I'm not hugely into what current fandom is doing with them, and I'm particularly not a fan of certain portrayals of them individually and their relationship in SW media cough the EKJ books and The Clone Wars cough, but I love this ship so dearly and any content is better than nothing for them so I'm content. they just belong together and I won't hear anything else
thank you for the suggestion! this was super fun and I'd love to do more :D

bestie level?!?!?! please i might cry this is so sweet :( it was really fun to do! it was a work secret santa but we weren't given a list of what our person liked, we kinda had to just buy them something we thought they would like 🫶 luckily i had one if my best friends as mine and she was easy to buy for so i got her a candle and some dog socks!! 💞 i'll be making you a gifset 💖
they definitely are two very different people but sometimes those friendships can be so precious too 🖤 oh my god it's so HARD to just not bias the whole group!!!! 😡 i feel like lately wonwoo is about to slip into the bias list and i'm not prepared 😂
ahhh you're most welcome. the carat family is possibly the nicest fandom, everyone's so kind, and i'm so shy when it comes to making new friends because i struggle with anxiety but i've made some of the coolest friends in the carat family 🫶 i always make the mistake of listening to that song in public bc i really just want to start dancing in the middle of the street 😂
i think hao's lives are my favourite to watch, he's chill and i enjoy a nice live to watch when i'm not at my best ❤️
you can't not love seungkwan! i see a little bit of myself in him. there's a compilation of him on youtube of him getting angry and in one of the clips hoshi is saying he's the mafia and seungkwan looks like he's about to beat him up and it's just so funny 😭
oh my god that whole video is so cute 🖤 she's so so pretty 😭 tbf i would definitely be super shy around her too :((( bless your heart, you're so so sweet 🫶🧡
svt are just one of those groups where every single gose episode has you in fits of laughter 😂
a few of my favourite episodes are;
https://youtu.be/7-RbcrWTth4 - this is one of their mafia games, it's a two part. it's just so funny how SERIOUS hoshi gets in trying to figure out who the mafias are 😂
https://youtu.be/d1Tjh0mJBZU - i don't even know what to say about this tbh. it's just....chaos 😂 also a two part!
https://youtu.be/ncgd8GfklT0 - two part ❤️ again..... complete chaos 😭
https://youtu.be/hxTGug0k39s - the worst thing about svt is that i wanna play all of these games with them !!!! 😭 this one is a three part :)
https://youtu.be/XbNcsgEX2jc - this is also a two part 😂
ENJOY 🖤 i can always send more!!! i apologise for the late reply, i always see my family on weekends 🧡
i always talk too much, it's why i send big asks 🫶 i'm happy you're okay with long asks!!! ❤️
hi bestie 💞 thank you so much for answering so thoroughly ❤️ i appreciate it a lot (x3) first of all, i don't want you to apologise/worry about not answering quickly. i'd rather you spend time doing things you love than being here and feeling pressured to do things 💖
ooh! was it not difficult though? i mean being your best friend's secret santa hehe ^^' i can't imagine the stress of not getting caught/not letting too many clues out. btw the dog socks must have been the cutest thing ever. i'm sure she liked it a lot!
[big sigh] i feel the same about the bias thing in seventeen. i just finished watching all the gose episodes you recommended and i think my bias changed at least 25 times 😂😂😂
yes! carats are some of the chillest people i've ever seen. i think when you're a seventeen fan, they kind of rub off on you in a way. i mean the guys are so funny and (AJU) nice. it's only natural they attract people with the same mindset and personality 💗 also, all their interactions with other groups/idols are super wholesome :( like they make them feel like a part of the group 💘 sorry, i'm getting a little emotional rn
tbh seungkwan is one of the only people (along with the rest of seventeen) capable of making me smile so big :D there's a reason why a lot of people like and bias him 💟 i've known him from his variety show appearances and he's one of the funniest people on this planet. and what i like about him is that he's still super nice and friendly 🤍 anyway seungkwan is love, seungkwan is the friend we all dream to have
oh trust me when i say ahn sohee is one of the most beautiful women ever 😭 plus she's so sweet 😭 what's there not to like about her? tell me!
like i said, i've just finished watching all the gose episodes. it took me all day but it was SO worth it 💓 i haven't laughed like that in a long long time. they're all comedians at this point. they should add that to their resume. you can see how strong their friendship is because filming that many videos and still being able to bounce off of each other and make each other laugh... that's a strong friendship 💞 and they manage to catch your attention every single time! thank you so so much for the recs 💞 they made my day. bonus points for hao's outfit in the second part of that last video (playground). it's super duper cute.
you never have to worry about sending long asks with me because i really like reading them 💓

ooh what are you studying? im a med student, in my last year. im planning to do a masters of pharmacy and maybe psychology or education, i havent decided what ill double up on.
my timezone is in hell so eid was technically yesterday for me, we go to the prayer in the park then buy flowers for everyone, and visit my grandparents for breakfast and then all the aunts. one of my aunts lives across the road from a mcdonalds, so naturally the most important tradition we have is spending our eid money there. and then we watch a movie and uber maccas again when we get home. what do you do for eid?
daredevil is pretty good, i got into it mostly bc ive read a couple comics, and matt murdock is THEE most ridiculous character ever. i love him so much in a very, im holding him by the scruff of his neck and making him take a shower. blorbo emotions. its abt a blind lawyer who is a vigilante on the side, and is determined to singlehandedly take down an entire criminal empire all by himself. its really funny when u get into the other defenders bc like. jessica jones has super stength. luke cage is bulletproof. danny rand has whatever tf he has going on. and then matt is just there,,, his super power is catholic guilt and intense rage. mf has two sticks and ends up in garbage bins more often than he probably should. hes like a damn cockroach, he just doesnt seem to die.
i just fuckin love superheroes u dont understand i am holding myself back from going off into a tangent. esp street level heroes, they have a completely different vibe than like, bigshot heroes such as iron man or even a lot of the dc heroes.
if ur interested, theres a fic series i recommend to everyone based around team red (thats spiderman, daredevil, and deadpool) which is a. super long and will entertain you for ages bc its broken up into digestible parts and b. absolutely hilarious. its like, what if marvel was actually good. the iteration that author created of all the characters is chefs kiss, amazing.
im gonna shut myself up rip, ill talk to you soon <33

omg, wow, that's so interesting! what do you enjoy about medicine? that is so cool that you're planning on doing your masters too! those all sound like really good options of what to go into. and my program is English! also thinking of adding History as a minor since I love it
this is so sweet omg. I love that you guys do prayer in the fast and do such a sweet gesture by giving flowers to everyone. it just sounds so comforting and cozy, how you and your family have all these traditions and spend so much time eating and hanging out together. for me, I unfortunately couldn't do much for Eid because my Wifi had just started back up and I had an assignment due that day that I hadn't been able to work on LMAO. but, usually, we try to get together with my aunt, one of our only relatives sharing the city with us. and my father wants to host something in our neighbourhood for Eid, where people (neighbours, relatives, family friends, etc.) will come by and we feed them and spend time with them.
omg that sounds so fucking cool! like, the entire concept of a lawyer who also simultaneously is taking down an entire criminal empire sounds do cool. and I love ridiculous characters, it's so easy to root for them omg. aksjkajs "catholic guilt and intense rage," LMAO. I really like when there's a group and all of them have an individual power and something they bring to the table.
you can totally go on a tangent! it's so cool that you're so into them and passionate about them! my sibling is the same about certain superheroes. I honestly don't know much about them, but I have friends who adore them. what do you like most about street level heroes? are they heroes that, like, are working in a specific spot as opposed to, like, saving the whole world?
you can totally send me the fic! even if I'm not a part of the fandom, I always appreciate a good, funny fic, hehe. I'll even send it to my friend who is really into Marvel!
(also, you don't need to shut yourself up! love that you're so into it)

My Kind
Corpse Husband x Reader (Female)
Warning: Swearing
Genre: Fluff, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: Having been chosen by the gang to be a guest streamer on today’s stream of Among Us, it’s safe to say Y/N’s super excited but also a bit nervous. The whole of her anxiety gets lifted off her when she meets someone with the exact same vibe as hers - yeah you guessed it.
Requested by @monizzle96 Hi dear! Thank you so much for your wonderful request! I’m so terribly sorry it’s taken me so long to write and post it but here it finally is! I hope you come across it and read it and if so I hope you enjoy it! Love, Vy ❤
This has to be the fiftieth time I’ve checked my setup in the past twenty four hours. But no, I’m definitely not nervous, what are you talking about. Pshhh. Nah, being nervous isn’t in my brand. Plus, what do I have to make me nervous - a group of famous streamers inviting me onto their stream to play Among Us with them because they enjoyed my own streams? Ok yeah, that’s a pretty good reason. Not gonna lie, I almost chucked my phone out of excitement when I received that DM from Toast, telling me they’d picked me to be their guest streamer for today’s date. My stomach was doing somersaults for a good forty-eight hours following that text and then the anxiety slowly started setting in fueled by the expectations they probably have of me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not inexperienced in the streaming field, I’ve been a streamer longer than some of the members of Toast’s streamer gang actually. But I never managed to garner that big of a following which I’m honestly quite ok with. I have a modest - ok, maybe larger than modest - following consisting of incredibly loyal fans which I will never stop being grateful for. They are all so respectable of me, my privacy and my boundaries. They know the main rules: no shit-talking in the chat or in any of my comment sections, no bashing other YouTubers in my comments/chat, and most definitely not asking for a face reveal. Fun fact: I didn’t even set up that last rule, they all just collectively know not to ask for it.
I’ve been keeping my brand pretty low-key to avoid garnering some unwanted attention - some of which I’ve already experienced on certain social media platforms following the full body pictures I posted on there - face not visible of course. I tend to also have my webcam on, facing towards my hands working away on the keyboard sometimes when I stream. I don’t know why people obsess over faceless content creators’ hands, but I appreciate the enthusiasm - it also drives me to do a manicure every now and then which ain’t so bad, self-care and all that you know.
Now, back to the subject of my ridiculous nervousness.
You see, it has layers.
I’m nervous of ‘preforming’ underwhelmingly and I’m nervous of what my own fans will think of the person I will become during this stream. They know me as a super chill and laid-back person, which I am by the way, but they might think I’m putting on a show if I exhibit any nervous gestures/vocabulary. I highly doubt they would, but the possibility is not letting my mind rest. And now that it’s about ten minutes till the stream starts, I’m getting doing my best to calm my nerves.
They are all just people. You know they are super chill too. Just be yourself, that’s why they invited you, because you are yourself on all your streams. They liked you for your personality, humor, maybe even your gaming skills. So chill the hell out and be yourself, damn it!
Easier thought than put into action that’s for sure.
I start my stream five minutes early just so I can vibe with my viewers for a little while before I have to meet the gang. My fans always have a way of injecting me with confidence, they remind me of where I was when I started and how far I’ve come. How much I achieved when I thought I’d be nothing and no one, someone the algorithm would simply overlook. But then they entered my life and I entered theirs and it all became much better than I ever thought it would get to be. I rarely tell myself ‘good job’ for the milestones I’ve reached or the hard work I’ve put into my content, but that’s probably cause I orient myself based on that quote from the movie Whiplash: ‘There are no two words in the English language more harmful than good job’ - simply put, I’m never satisfied with what I do and I always strive to do better. My fans, however, make sure I don’t go overboard with it - always serving as a reminder that I’ve done plenty for myself and others. And that’s what makes an amazing fandom, one I consider family.
Whoa, when did those five minutes fly by?!
Ah shit, here we go. Deep breaths, Y/N you got this.
“Hello!“ I say as I enter the Discord call, subconsciously biting my lower lip, grateful the camera isn’t capturing it. However, I make a mental note to keep my hands steady cause that’s the one part of me people can actually see and the last thing I want is for them to see how much my fingers are trembling.
“Oh hi, Y/N!“ Toast is the first one to greet me, “Welcome to the stream! Thank you so much for accepting our invitation.“
“Thank you for having me and inviting me, Toast. This is a huge deal for me. You guys are basically YouTube legends, this is unreal to me.“ I reply, cringing immediately afterwards because of my fangirl rambling. Great way to make first impressions, Y/N. Bravo.
To be fair, they already have an impression of you. Quit stressing.
Aright, you’ve got a point, me.
“Oh please, we owe all that to our fans. We’re really nothing special. All streamers are almost completely alike, we all owe where we are to the people who helped us make it there - our fans. We’re no legends.“ Toast says, bringing a small smile to my face as well as a light pink blush to my cheeks, “And from what I’ve seen, you yourself have quite the following. And your fans seem to adore you.“
“And I absolutely adore them.“ I chuckle, “They mean the world to me. They are the reason I’m here today.”
“Then we have to give them a special thank you, don’t you think?“ The teasing, familiar giggle, widens my smile - it’s Rae, “Nice to meet you, Y/N! I’m Rae, and, no cap, I’m quite a fan of your content. No joke, I binged your entire series of Resident Evil 7 as soon as I found your channel when Toast said he’d invite you.“
This rattles me a bit. I can hardly believe it - am I really receiving a compliment from an A-list name in the streaming world? My fans must be hella proud of me right now. A quick glance at my chat confirms that they indeed are. That in and of itself fills me with joy and newfound confidence.
“Oh Gosh, thank you so much Rae! That means the world to me. You’re all so sweet.“ I reply, lifting my ice cold hands to cool down my burning cheeks, my lips spread into a grin, my stomach filled with butterflies.
“Oh please, we have some real savages around here.“ A male voice, seemingly Charlie’s scoffs, “Don’t overlook us please.“
“Wait, we do?“ A deep voice, one I immediately know the owner of speaks up, “Who? How come I don’t know about that?“
I can’t help bust snort, “Nice to meet you, Corpse. Sarcasm central, I see.”
He laughs, “Just returning it to where it’s due. Nice to meet you too, Y/N. Sick Outlast series, by the way.“
Ok, wait, I have two A-list streamers complimenting my content. Ok, I’m bound to crack open a few beers to celebrate later cause OH MY GOD.
“Thanks! I’m a horror junkie so I’d be lying if I said I haven’t binge watched all your story-times. Personal favorites are the deep web ones, they fascinate me.“
“Oh, you’re one of my kind even more than I expected, huh?“ He replies, the tone of his voice changing, raising a bit due to what I can only describe as excitement and enthusiasm. “I’ve had people tell me it’s twisted, but I really like seeing the lengths to which the fucked up human mind can go to. Like, the shit I’ve read is insane! Some stories I didn’t narrate cause I would’ve probably had my video taken down, it was that messed up.“
My eyes widen, sharing the same excitement at the thought of digging deeper into this phenomenon, “Careful, Corpse, you’re walking a dangerous line of tempting me to deep-dive on Reddit in search of those exact stories.”
“No need.“ Corpse says, his tone now taking up a bit of a cocky note, “I still got them all saved, I can send them to you no problem.“
“Please do! I seriously gotta read them now. If I can’t sleep afterwards, I’m blaming you, Corpse. Just FYI.“ I say, giggling slightly, finding myself all but completely comfortable now. I wonder where all that anxiety went?
“Blame fully taken. Given that I’m not much of a sleeper, I’ll keep you company whenever you think there’s a killer hiding in your closet or fear a red room pop-up will appear on your computer screen.“ He replies, chuckling.
“Um, that’s oddly specific.“ Charlie comments, “Been there yourself, buddy?”
“Perhaps.“ Corpse wheezes, getting a laugh out of me too, “I will neither confirm nor deny.“
“You know what, I’ll just private message you my number so if you see it call you at some ungodly hour, you don’t freak the fuck out. Sounds good?“ I ask, already prepping to type it out and send it to him.
“Perfect. Wait...“ he pauses for a second, sounding puzzled for a second, “You don’t have mine.“
“Oh, do I not?“ I reply with a sinister tone - thought to answer the question, I of course don’t have his number.
“Oh, do you?“ He sasses me right back. “If so then you don’t need me to send it to you. Cool.“
Ah, shit
“Wait, no! I-I need to confirm it’s the correct one!“
Damn, never did I think I’d be complimented by some of the most important streamers on this platform, but to get a number of theirs too? That’s a whole another level that will take me time to process. But I’ll do that another time, right now, I have to kick these people’s butts in Among Us and later I have some deep web stories to read.
Turns out, all it takes to get comfortable in a new surrounding is someone of your kind. And Corpse is definitely one of my kind.

I have too many feelings about Our Flag Means Death not to post them on Tumblr
So in the last week I’ve watched all ten episodes of the single season of Our Flag Means Death four times. It’s about five hours of screen time per binge, but still, that’s… a lot, right? I am fucking fixated on this shit. It’s a rabbit hole of joy and fandom brain rot (as the kids say).
On my fourth viewing, I took a pen–pink, a color I rarely use except for contrast–and wrote down quotes and notes. I filled 18½ pages. My hand hurts; gripping a pen and applying pressure to get a clean stroke hurts after a short while. Getting old, I guess. But I treated it like I was doing research for a grad school project, like I was trying to identify a thesis, a reason for my sudden and swift obsession. Like, I love TV–I rewatch favorites repeatedly and follow new shows pretty regularly. Things like Star Trek are often on my mind and I love to talk about them and look at memes. But only once before can I recall falling into a proverbial k-hole of focus on a show and every goddamn thing about and around it I can consume. That show, of course, was Schitt’s Creek, and I had four seasons of material to go on by then, but I got really into the then-smallish fandom and wrote fic and cosplayed and joined chats and watched every thing I could track down with Dan Levy. Oh, and I came out as nonbinary, at least to some people.
The rest I'll put under a cut because I rambled all day.
My ardor for that series has waned somewhat (David’s ultimate path didn’t resonate, which I know is nigh-sacrilege for the wedding-focused fandom, and for ~*personal reasons*~ I really wanted Stevie to explore a queer romance, alas) but so many people I know still associate me with being a fan. I mean, sure, I literally named my rabbit after David Rose and gave them an Instagram account, but I’ve moved on. (You can still DM me with your Schitt’s stuff, though. It makes me happy to know you’re thinking of me and enjoying something I hoped you’d enjoy.) At any rate, I wasn’t expecting another obsession to hit like that; maybe it was a fluke. Then I watched the gay pirate romcom.
Romantic comedies are not, strictly speaking, my jam. I don’t really enjoy romances. Most romcoms lack in the “comedy” department for my taste. And pirates? I mean, as a narrative setting, meh, it’s fine. (I WILL go back and finish watching Black Sails eventually, I promise, but generally…) The “gay” part, well, sure, I appreciate representational media. It can be a mixed bag. But if you’ve read this far, you either already know or can guess that none of these objections fit OFMD. In terms of comedy, it’s a goddamn powerhouse of international comedy legends. Romance? It’s sweet and lovely without being cloying or obsessed with marriage et cetera (that’s just…a thing I get really bored with…). And it’s not too sweet to totally skimp on the horrific reality of piracy, at least as much as one can to fit the romcom tone. Also basically every on-screen relationship bar one is queer in some way, and there’s a nonbinary pirate played by a nonbinary actor, just for bonus points.
But why the everloving fuck did I get obsessed with it??? The conclusion I’ve come to is that the show somehow let me experience gender euphoria by proxy. Not just because of Jim Jimenez–that’s a nice affinity, and I’ve enjoyed Vico Ortiz in other stuff, so it’s a freakin’ delight to see them in something with such an active, engaged fanbase; their social media is on fire–but for reasons that, as close as I can figure, are the same as something that made me super obsessed with Schitt’s Creek before: the portrayal of masculinity.
As an AFAB nonbinary person who didn’t figure out such labels could apply until their late 30s, I’ve got my own view of masculinity and femininity. (As anyone who’s ever explored gender should.) For me, it’s not so much that I want to be more masculine (shit’s scary, societally speaking) but read as less feminine. That’s just my body. Bodies without hips and large breasts and the things they can convey with their fashion are just…not what I can do. At least not with my budget. “Feminine” touches with menswear cuts, and so on. When I see folks with a style I covet, it transfixes me a bit. I’d love to be able to wear a dress and paint my nails in a boyish way. Rock an impeccable suit with color and pattern and a little jewelry. That’d just be neat. So somewhere between fashion icon David Rose’s enviable wardrobe of black and white couture knits and these funny gay pirates I’ve got feelings I wanna live in for as long as I can since I can’t try on the real thing. (Or, well. A longer thought there is the point of an entirely different ramble.)
I’m just gonna write up thoughts on our key players. What a segue. Anyway, spoilers abound.
Stede Bonnet: The Gentleman Pirate
For all his childhood trauma, a joyless arranged marriage, and clear naivete, Stede is a man who strikes me as surprisingly secure in himself. He may not be able to articulate exactly what he wants, but he knows the world he comes from wasn’t made for him, and he actively takes the pieces that work for him and rejects the rest. He loves the finer things–his library, suite decor, and secret auxiliary closet serve as ample evidence of that–and doesn’t become a pirate to collect everyone else’s finery. He’s in it for adventure, which is a fucking wild, privileged reason to do anything. What he takes from his old life is a comfort and, he hopes, a launching pad. People in his aristocratic world didn’t take him seriously, but he did. And he wants to share it, but there’s a mismatch between what he’s got to offer and the things the people he meets in the pirate life need. This does not deter him.
What happens to Stede over the course of the season reflects his growth–in confidence, in love, and in himself–but not a fundamental change in who Stede is. He can relinquish some of the finery when he’s finally figured out what he wants, but we know it’s still part of him. (My god, when he gets back to the Revenge and confronts what’s been thrown overboard (and what’s maybe been kept), it’s gonna be a moment.) He can add and remove identity accessories without losing that sense of self.
I find this guy confusingly relatable. I’m not a drama queen with an outfit for every occasion, but I am more likely to retreat than engage when off-putting chaos swirls around me. I would also very likely find myself “uncomfortable in a married state.” I like being in charge, even though I’m not always good at it. I’m easily haunted by my own failures. And I, too, am more than a little mesmerized at the sight of Taika Waititi in a salt-and-pepper wig and beard and aging rockstar leather getup. (Whomst among us…)
Edward Teach: Blackbeard the Pirate
Born on a beach, became the Kraken. Watching this disaster wrestle with his fragmented personas was a roller coaster. Young Edward was drawn to the finer things that, as his mother tells him, aren’t for people like him–God says. So when he meets the Gentleman Pirate, “God’s perfect little rich boy” as an enemy later describes Stede, someone who chose this life, who chose to share his finery, he’s into it. Despite himself.
When Stede asks him if he “works for Blackbeard,” he has to consider it. It’s not that everything about him is a facade, but “Blackbeard” is ultimately a constructed brand for pirating. Ed Teach has a tendency to become the person he needs to be for the moment, for the people that surround him. He’s Blackbeard for Izzy; Blackie for Calico Jack (a nickname as gross as their relationship tbh), a jovial (if occasionally menacing) Co-captain to the crew, and Ed to Stede. Izzy might call him by his name and his title interchangeably, but over time, even he can see they are not the same. Stede gets to know Edward, someone maybe no one else has ever known, and he finds that he really likes being Edward, or at least being Edward with Stede. That Edward isn’t putting on a mask. Maybe he’s not even sure why, but he seems to trust Stede implicitly, and that trust only builds and builds until it collapses.
Everyone knows who Blackbeard is, except Blackbeard. The Blackbeard he presents to the crew of the Revenge is seemingly not the same one his own crew is used to. It’s not the same Ed Stede knows, but it isn’t exactly a terrifying pirate persona, either. Co-captain Blackbeard is affable, sometimes almost whimsical; a storyteller, prankster. Any grumpiness is easily explained away as the too-cool veneer of a man who’s all too aware of his profile (Lucian even calls him on it when they’re on Stede’s ill-fated treasure hunt). When his mental state crumbles after he returns to the ship sans Stede, the veneer is dropped entirely. He tells the crew to call him Edward, celebrates their talent and artistry, and babbles about giving up piracy altogether. Both Izzy and Lucian can tell he’s not OK, but the ways they try to help are diametrically opposed. To everyone else, he’s just having fun. The chaos, I think, is Ed not even knowing (or caring) anymore who he is and who he has to be for others.
When he becomes the Kraken, it’s for himself–to protect himself from the pain of being known. Known by Stede, who left him at that dock, and by the crew with whom he’s grown far too informal. Of anyone knowing that he’s always been the Kraken, in his own mind and mythology. In this persona, Izzy sees his Blackbeard, but he probably doesn’t see the man behind the mask sobbing at the sight of a lighthouse painting. Ed knows better than to let anyone see that, now. The Kraken might be a self-loathing monster, but no one gets to hurt him anymore. The Kraken is appropriately terrifying, but he also makes me so fuckin’ sad, and not just because Stede is free and coming back to him.
I don’t know that Stede ever recognized these shifting personas within Ed. I think Ed was only becoming aware of them himself, through his ennui and through getting to know Stede. Stede’s sense of self is stable enough that he might not be able to conceive of the vulnerability Ed’s shown him. He hasn’t got a frame of reference for it. To him, Ed is Blackbeard and Blackbeard is Ed. When he gets hints of it–like when he sees Ed’s shaved face for the first time, and Ed tells him Blackbeard is old news–he’s worried, maybe, that Ed’s losing himself and it’s all Stede’s fault. He can’t have another regret weighing on him like that.
Jim Jimenez fka Bonifacia
The only people confused about Jim’s identity are the other crew of the Revenge who argue about whether or not “Jim” is a girl’s name and if women attract demons. They get over it. Jim is the Inigo Montoya of OFMD, except they also get a boyfriend. I love this journey for them.
Death as a Metaphor and a Promise
The crew of the Revenge creates flags to advertise the promise of future suffering and death for any who might cross their path. Everyone fears death at the hands of Blackbeard (even if, as he admits to Stede, he hasn’t personally killed anyone since he murdered his own father in the Kraken origin story). But these are literal deaths. The story mainly concerns metaphorical deaths; transitions from one identity to another, from one persona to another.
Stede’s marriage begins with the specter of death (the gravestones as a wedding gift), one he eschews only to die another way, by being responsible for the death of another man. (One of his childhood bullies, in fact. A fact that is never lost on him, even if he fixates on the man’s death and his part in it rather than the torture he lived through to get there.) But he didn’t escape the original specter until he returned home to resolve it–with his own faked death, in concert with his wife, her lover, and their children. Now he’s finally free.
Ed initially sees Stede as a way for Blackbeard to die–an opportunity to steal the Gentleman Pirate’s identity and fuck off with his purloined finery, just for kicks. He’s bored of this persona he built for himself but feels stuck in it, so why not “die”? Later, he very nearly accomplishes killing Blackbeard for good when he submits himself alongside Stede for an Act of Grace pardon. When he tells Stede he’s happy just to be with him and suggests they create new identities and run away together, he suggests he hopes that death is permanent, but Stede, unfortunately, has his own death to attend to first. The Kraken, then, and its flag with the demon harpooning a heart, promises a death to others that he couldn’t give himself.
The focus on metaphorical deaths is a bit funny, considering I expect any future seasons will not strictly adhere to the literal death timelines of these characters.
OK But What About Your Feelings?
There is absolutely no way anyone reading this diatribe had this thought.
But since I’m asking… fuck. So like, I’m on the low end of middle age. That feeling of wanting something more, of is that all there is, is real. Especially with regard to how I’m performing gender and such. To being comfortable with being out more. To doing…something about that, whatever the fuck that means. To some kind of new adventure. It’s not as exciting as life on the high seas during the Golden Age of Piracy, and I’m not half as funny as these people, but I am trying to understand what exactly it was about something that, yes, is already the kind of show I’d just enjoy the hell out of, but it wormed its way into my tired little brain and fucked me up for a solid week, maybe more.

3, 8, 10, 16, 17 💕
3. What inspires you to keep creating fanworks?
I’m not going to lie, the cancellation really emptied my inspiration gumball machine… I love fic writing, and I love JATP and I love the fandom, but I can tell it’s going to be a struggle for a little while. HOWEVER what’s keeping me motivated to write and keep sharing my love for the show is my friends, everyone out there who loves the show as much as I do, who’s just as sad about the cancellation as I am. The thought of writing right now makes me sad. The thought of a future without JATP makes me even sadder. But… eventually, I’ll keep going, because of my friends 💜
8. Who are three fanwork creators (fic writers, gifmakers, artists, meta writers, etc.) that you love seeing on your dash?
Going to try to go outside the realm of fic writing for this… (also going to pick more than three again because fuck it, the JATP fandom is so talented)
MOODBOARDS - @flynn-taylor
GIFSETS - @luke-pattersons, @thereigning-lorelai
META POSTS - (also not going to lie to you I have no idea what “meta” means, but a lot of people post stuff about canon speculation and like expanding on stuff we saw in the show and so that’s the definition I’m going with… so people who have really cool takes on things that I always enjoy reading are: @latinposeidon, @thedeathdeelers, @missmitchieg… and anything that comes out of @futurearchaeologyprof’s brain is always so insightful and heart-wrenching, whether it’s an actual post or just a string of DM’s lol
FAN ART - omg there’s this one person who does CRAZY (/pos) fan art… @jeida-chi! Her paintings are incredible!
10. What’s a fanwork that made you cry?
I answered this here, but… hmm… let me see if I can think of another one. Our Life Is A Playlist (And You’re My Favorite Song) is an older fic, from the beginning of this year, and it wasn’t ALL sad, but some parts of it did make me cry! HONORABLE MENTION for this dream isn’t feeling sweet, because while it didn’t make me shed tears, it was super sad and super well-written!
16. Are there fanworks in [fandom] that you’ve revisited multiple times?
ride until I can’t no more… I live here. On this fic page on ao3. This fic is my godchild and I revisit it often 😂
maybe then i'll fade away / and not have to face the facts - this is another one of my favorite fics by my amazing friend @julies-butterflies. I was probably way more low-key about how much I loved this one (a.k.a. not screaming in her DMs about it on the daily, or sending her random lines from it as I read) but it is one of my favorite fics by her because it's so emotional and so personal.
I Never Really Feel A Thing by @malecacidd - I really loved this one because I love any sort of Luke angst, but this fic specifically hit home because it's so relatable. It's... so relatable lol. And every so often I revisit it and read it again and hope that Em added the other part to the series like they mentioned they might a while ago
17. What’s a favorite comment or tag you’ve gotten on your work?
I love comments that give feedback on my characterization. Comments that say that I got the right emotions across… comments that say people felt something from reading my fics. But all comments are my favorite comments 💜(I also appreciate the yelling ones, but honestly most people expect shit from me by now, so it doesn’t happen too often!)

Star Wars Novel Rankings
In celebration of the end of this year, I made a tier list of all of the Star Wars novels I’ve read since I joined this fandom in 2017 (which you can use to rank these books too). And I named all the tiers in a dorky but appropriate fashion. I would love to hear your thoughts on my rankings, as well as how you’d rank the books yourself! I’ve had a blast reading Star Wars novels from both Disney’s canon and the Legends extended universe over these past 3 years. Here’s to many more years of reading stories from the galaxy far far away!
I put longer (but not more coherent) thoughts below the cut.
Tumblr media
The Chosen One: Bringing Balance to the Force and My Depressed Soul
1. The first spot of top tier had to go to Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith novelization for obvious reasons. You simply cannot beat it. It’s a masterpiece. I literally had to put the book down to scream when I read the prose associated with the opening battle over Coruscant. It gave a whole new meaning to the triumphant music and the synchronous twirling of Obi-Wan and Anakin’s starfighters as they weave through blaster-fire in the battle over Coruscant. The rest of the book is the same way. You can’t put it down. I have wAyyYyYy too many feelings about this book oh my god.
2. Thrawn was a surprising book for me. For being centered on an admiral of the Empire’s navy, it had so much heart in it! I loved reading from Eli Vanto’s perspective too. god dammit I love that freaking Wild Space hillbilly dweeb with all my heart. I think his experiences getting to know Thrawn and learning from him guides the reader to feel much the same way as Eli by the end. Thrawn is a trusted friend, not the enemy you expect him to be. I could have done without Arihnda Pryce but she’s supposed to be unlikeable so I won’t blame Timothy Zahn this time.
3. The Clone Wars Gambit duology is basically Karen Miller writing fanfic and I’m HERE FOR IT. As is tradition with Karen Miller’s Star Wars novels, the emotions are dialed up the eleven. Our favorite dumbass Jedi team is back at it again with a mission to save the galaxy and this time they end up going undercover as two lumberjacks from the boonies. Anakin holds an energy shield back from collapsing with his bare hands like a total badass. Obi-Wan is in love with another woman despite it always ending in tragedy, while also bickering like a married couple with Anakin every ten seconds. get a fucking room, you two. These two books inspired one of my fics so they’re near and dear to my heart.
Jedi Master: These Books Have A Seat On The Council Too
4. Wild Space was appropriately named, I’ll tell you that. It’s a wild ride from start to finish. *slaps the front cover* this book can fit so much of Obi-Wan’s suffering in it! @forcearama has elaborated on the many reasons why this book is a gem in Snark Wars blog posts (linked here). It’s also the beginning of the best team-up since Anakin and Obi-Wan...Bail and Obi-Wan! These two bastards get under each other’s skin but it makes for the perfect character development. This book is the reason I screech with delight whenever Bail Organa appears on screen, or is mentioned in conversation. Bail gets a mysterious tip about trouble on a planet, and Obi-Wan decides to go with him to investigate. Cue Sith-induced suffering. It’s cool to see a normal person experiencing the weirdness of Force sensitives and how the world has this extra level of sensory information in it. Plotwise this one isn’t the best, but I think the interactions between characters really shine in this novel. Karen Miller’s writing is like a cup of hot chocolate to me. Indulgent character insight, full of sweet moments, has a bunch of extra marshmallowy dialogue, you’re reading it to have a good time but not to be satisfied with plot. You get me?
5. Do I even have to explain myself here? Kenobi by John Jackson Miller is both an interesting western-style tale set on Tatooine, and a beautiful character study of a man stricken with grief he keeps suppressed. How does one continue on when their whole family was murdered and their whole culture burnt to ash? I wanted to give Obi-Wan a hug the entire time I read this. The characterization was spot-on, from the way he wrangled animals to the way he severed a man’s arm off in a bar with his lightsaber. And when he meets a woman named Annileen Calwell, or Annie for short, Obi-Wan can’t bring himself to call her by her nickname ever and if that doesn’t just break your damn heart fucking fuck.
6. Ahsoka was the first Disney canon book I ever read and it kickstarted my love for E.K. Johnston. The writing is simplistic, but that makes it easy to jump into. Overall, it’s a quick and enjoyable read. By far the best parts are the flashbacks that mull over memories Ahsoka has of the time before Order 66. That shit hits you right in the heart, man. And the part where Ahsoka equates Obi-Wan and Anakin to her adoptive family ohhhhhhh god the tears they flow like a river. There are scenes that allude to Ahsoka becoming the vital part of the Rebellion we know her to be from Rebels, balanced with her current struggles to survive and find herself. Despite having cast away her identity as a Jedi and having any remaining bits of her culture destroyed by Palpatine, Ahsoka shows us all how bright a hero can shine in the darkest of times. AND SHE WAS WRITTEN AS QUEER! finally some good fucking food.
7. Oh shit, another E.K. Johnston book? Don’t be surprised. She’s a prequel fan and so am I, hence why Queen’s Shadow is so high on the list. E.K. Johnston pays homage to our favorite queen and badass senator Padme Amidala. There’s politics, there’s solidarity between female characters, and Bail Organa is in it so you KNOW I simply must give it a high rating. All jokes aside, I thought the story added lots of little details to the world of Star Wars without it being all stereotypical sci-fi nerdy language. You know how people want to describe something beyond our technological capabilities so they throw a bunch of nonsense together like “pre-praxis crystal bio-anode circuitry”? I’m looking at you, Karen Miller, I love you but please. There is none of that in this book. It makes sense, it adds color and culture and life to the worlds of Star Wars. Most of all, it devotes time and love to developing Padme outside of her place in canon as Anakin’s wife, Queen of Naboo, and Senator. She is all of these things, but she’s human too. I do agree that the pacing is slow, but it’s something meant to be savored, I think. E.K. Johnston really shines when she’s writing dialogue because she gets these characters. That’s something to appreciate, because not all canon books agree with the way we’ve perceived the characters as an audience.
8. Rogue Planet chewed me up, spit me out, and declared me an even bigger stan for The Team. People who say Qui-Gon would have been a better master for Anakin can ~get out~ because I could read about these two hooligans getting neck deep in space shenanigans all damn day. Anakin is like twelve, which is a time in his training that we don’t get a lot of in canon. Personally, I think it was equal parts heartwarming and funny to read about their adventures. There is some angst sprinkled in there because hey, we’re reading about Anakin here, let’s not forget the emotional trainwreck that is Anakin Skywalker. The duo is sent to a planet that makes super fast ships that are ?sentient? or at least biologically active. They bond with the pilot, which makes Anakin perfect for this mission. There’s a scene where these little floof things attach all over tiny Anakin because he’s so strong in the Force and it’s god damn adorable how dare he?? I’d probably rate this one even higher if I read it again, but it’s been awhile. Characterization is spot on and reminiscent of Matthew Stover’s writing in how it highlights the strong bond between Obi-Wan and Anakin, how they’re fated to know each other. I’m a sucker for soulmates, what can I say?
9. Lost Stars reads like a movie. Not a script, but just the perfect amount of detail that you can imagine the scenes but the pacing is still quick, the dialogue smooth and natural. I couldn’t help wishing this was a film because the story was so all-encompassing. The highs and lows of the emotions of both protagonists, their relationship developing, the differences in culture. Folks, this book has it all! It’s a totally different perspective on the events of the original trilogy, seen from the side of Imperial cadets training to become pilots. Eventually, one splits off and joins the Rebellion while the other perseveres in the Empire. It’s like star-crossed lovers, but covers so much more ground than that. And the characters are fully developed. These original characters knocked my socks off, and that’s hard to do since I’m usually an Obi-Wan stan through and through. For anyone uncertain of reading Star Wars novels, this book is a great place to start. Action-packed, emotion-filled, and stands on its own despite weaving perfectly into the established universe. What more could you want?
10. Back at it again with the prequel shit, amiright? Queen’s Peril is E.K. Johnston’s most recent Padme-centric novel and it does not disappoint fans that wanted a taste of the Queen’s side of the story. Set during the events of The Phantom Menace, we get a “behind the curtain” look at how all of the handmaidens came to be more than their title suggests. There’s teenage girls getting stuff done! It makes more sense why Padme was elected ruler of her home-world, and you come to appreciate that a royal leader is not alone; there’s actually a whole team at her side to help her overcome everything from the drudgery of daily governing to Trade Federation blockades that threaten to starve her people. I think if you enjoyed Queen’s Shadow, you’ll enjoy this book a lot. For those that are unfamiliar with Johnston’s work, I wouldn’t recommend this one first because it does cover events you’ve already seen in movies and therefore is a less suspenseful companion to them. On the other hand, because it does tie in with TPM, it doesn’t suffer from the pacing issues of Queen’s Shadow to the same degree. I read this all in one sitting, so it’s definitely fun, but wasn’t compelling enough in its character development to elevate the book past some of the others I’ve listed already.
11. Thrawn: Treason was a refreshing return to the Grand Admiral we all know and love after the second installment in this series slowed things down a bit. Although it wasn’t as character-driven as the first book (which I love with all of my heart), there were still many moments that had me cackling at the disparity between Thrawn’s immense intellect and the other Imperials’ sheer stupidity, and that’s what we’re here for in a book about the Empire, right? There’s a lot of pressure on Thrawn, as his TIE Defender project has been pitted against Director Krennic’s Project Stardust. Who will get the funds? We just don’t know?? Tarkin sits in between the two and as usual, manipulates everything to his advantage. Palpatine questions Thrawn’s allegiance to the Empire after some of the choices he has made, leaving him in even more of a pickle. Thrawn is sent on a wild goose chase task that should definitely end in failure (on purpose because Imperials all want to watch each other burn as much as they want to watch the Rebellion burn), but you know Thrawn will find a way. My main squeeze Eli Vanto makes his return after being absent from book 2. Missed you, my sweet sweet country boy. He doesn’t have a leading role in this novel, but every scene he’s in makes the story better. Thrawn says “perhaps” way too often for my taste, but if you can ignore that, this book is a solid read. Equal parts action and deductive reasoning, as any Thrawn book should be.
12. Most of Dark Disciple had me thinking this was going to be a top tier book, and damn do I wish we could have gotten this animated. We follow Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress on a mission to assassinate Count Dooku. Why the Jedi thought this was a good idea, I don’t know. But I’m here for it all the same. 3/4 of the adventure were intriguing, but the ending didn’t do it for me. I won’t spoil things for anyone who hasn’t read this yet, but after all of the character development, to have it squandered so quickly just left me disappointed? I got really attached to everyone in this novel, and I’m sure you will to. I’ve read this and listened to it as an audiobook, and actually I think it’s more memorable as an audiobook. Would recommend, except for Mace Windu’s voice being exceptionally southern for no reason. Weird. I think this novel captures all of the great things about The Clone Wars show; time to really get to know each character and their motivations, action and adventure with the darkness of impending doom tinting everything, and lightsaber fights! Plus, Obi-Wan and Anakin make appearances in this book and it just adds that extra bit of spice. Worth the read, even if you know they aren’t going to get Dooku in the end (which I am still mad about, screw that guy).
Jedi Knight: Passed the Trials but There’s Room for Improvement
13. Few books in the Star Wars universe are centered around characters with no use of the Force, but in Most Wanted, we see a young Han Solo and Qi’ra struggling to survive on Corellia and it provides a humorous but compelling backstory to both characters in the Disney canon. Han is his usual lucky goofball self, and Qi’ra is smart and cunning. You can see how they grew into the versions of themselves in Solo. While the book stays on the lighter side of things (typical of stories written for a younger audience), there are still moments of depth on droid rights, viewing the Force as a religion, and what life is like in a crime syndicate. Addressing these heavier topics without it killing the pace of the story is hard to do, but Rae Carson pulls it off flawlessly. I went into this book with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had. Han and Qi’ra start off as competitors, but eventually have to learn to work together to survive as more and more people start hunting them down. They’re honestly so cute together, I loved their dynamic. It makes Solo a better movie, and although I liked it on its own, characters like Qi’ra needed a little more time to get to know, which you can get here!
14. Thrawn Alliances was not what I expected at all, and it took me a lot longer to get through. Hell, it has Thrawn, Anakin/Vader, and Padme in it! What’s not to love? Apparently, a lot. The different timepoints and perspectives in this were more jarring than anything else. Although the interactions between Thrawn and Anakin/Vader were enjoyable, it was not enough to elevate this book into the Jedi Master tier. Things felt dry, the characters didn’t grip me like in the first Thrawn, and it all felt like a ploy to introduce Batuu into canon before the launch of Galaxy’s Edge.
15. Leia: Princess of Alderaan was a dive into young Leia’s life before we see her in A New Hope even though this was marketed as a journey to The Last Jedi book, which I disagree with. We really haven’t seen any content about Leia in this time period before, and although I can’t say I was looking for this, I did enjoy it. The book was a little long, but there was adventure and the seeds are planted for Leia to be a bigger part of the Rebellion. The romance wasn’t too memorable, but Holdo wasn’t pointless in this (a stark contrast to her brief appearance in TLJ just to sacrifice herself). There’s a hint about Leia being Force-sensitive but it’s not in-your-face. It’s a typical coming-of-age story but in the gffa. The best part about this is seeing Bail and Breha as parents. I’m forever in pain that we didn’t get to see more of this in movies because it’s so so sweet. Leia must choose what kind of person she is going to be--and what kind of princess she will become. It won’t be for everyone, but I liked it.
16. Master and Apprentice was a typical Star Wars novel, which means it’s full of original characters that are strange and outlandish to serve the plot, a new world full of beautiful landscapes, and Obi-Wan suffering. I want to make it clear that this book is 80% Qui-Gon, 10% Rael Averross, and 10% Obi-Wan. I was expecting it to be 50% Qui-Gon, 50% Obi-Wan, as the cover suggested. Although I was disappointed by that, the story overall was okay. Qui-Gon is kind of an asshole in this? When is he not, though. We really get to sink our teeth into the way he and Obi-Wan fundamentally disagree with each other, so much so that their teacher-student relationship is falling apart. Tragic! They go on one last mission before calling it quits. Qui-Gon is in over his head with prophecies, Obi-Wan just wants to follow the rules, and Rael Averross is Dooku’s previous apprentice that is living his best life as a regent until Pijal’s princess comes of age. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid book. I just don’t vibe with Qui-Gon and want to whack him upside the head every time he avoids confrontation with his own student. My protectiveness for Obi-Wan is showing again, isn’t it? Yikes.
17. James Luceno is one of the most analytical authors I’ve ever read anything from, but it seems to always work? Tarkin is all about...well, Moff Tarkin. He’s ruthless, intelligent, and just downright evil. His backstory was compelling and I found myself drawn into the story by the details, although it is dense and took awhile to finish. I’m not interested in him as a character, but despite that, I enjoyed this story. The plot wasn’t memorable enough for me to recall after 3 years, but it’s similar to how Thrawn rose through the ranks of the Navy, just in a different part of the Empire’s governing body. We don’t get many books completely focused on a villain (I don’t count Vader ones because we know who he was before and the whole damn saga is about him), but this one is good! Don’t be fooled by it only being in the Knight tier. I think people who read a lot of sci-fi will like this book a lot. This is like the opposite of Queen’s Shadow, basically. If you had gripes about that book, you might like this one instead.
18. Battlefront II: Inferno Squad was a worthwhile read for anyone who played Battlefront II. Iden Versio is a great protagonist in the game, and I think Christie Golden totally gets her character. She’s nuanced and relatable. The whole team is interesting and getting introduced to each member before the events of the game makes everything mean more. That’s the real goal of any prequel story, I think. Accomplished! The action scenes are on point, the plot served to highlight what makes Inferno Squad special, and you get a sense for the morally grey area anyone must function in as an operative for the Empire. Although not necessary for the greater canon, it’s a great adventure. Iden and her squad members infiltrate the remains of Saw Gerrara’s group (they’ve become a bit of extremist) and destroy them from the inside. It’s got the suspense of a spy thriller and all of the nerdy space opera elements you expect from Star Wars. Although it’s weird to jump into a story not knowing any of the characters, you’ll get attached to Inferno Squad fast. Well, except for Gideon Hask maybe. He’s kind of a dick.
19. If you’re craving some Dark Side action, Lords of the Sith will give you what you’re looking for. Sidious and Vader crash-land on Ryloth and have to work together to survive, and also defeat the Free Ryloth Movement led by Cham Syndulla. It’s all fucking connected, guys. I love when people weave together stories that fit into the canon timeline like this, bringing in side characters and allowing them to develop some depth. And a chance to sink into the mind of a Sith Lord is always fun, if you’re in the mood to read about destruction and anger. It’s cathartic sometimes. If you’re always wondering, why didn’t Vader just stab Palps when he had the chance, this book explains their dynamic more. It didn’t really change my opinion of any of the characters, which is why it’s not higher on the list.
20. Catalyst suffered from being in a really boring part of galactic history. Despite that, Galen Erso and Orson Krennic have a hilarious relationship that I would have loved to see on-screen. This book really develops Krennic to become more than just the whiny entitled evil man we saw in Rogue One. He’s ten times worse now! But I mean that in the best way, I laugh whenever he’s in a scene, that sassy man just brings me joy. James Luceno is at it again, making things as detailed and dry as possible. I read so many of his stories right at the beginning of my journey through Star Wars canon and it’s a wonder I didn’t quit. Some of them are dark as fuck. And also slow as hell. With this one, I think it all comes down to what you want out of a Star Wars novel. Some people will really enjoy the plot. I think seeing how Galen became a part of Project Stardust was interesting and every time something about the Death Star became more clear, I screeched because I knew what it would eventually become. This book may not hold your interest though, which is why I put it lower on this list.
21. Star Wars: Clone Wars was a decent retelling of the Clone Wars movie. I liked it because I liked the movie, but you have to be able to sit back and enjoy the ride, not thinking too much about the silly parts. For that reason, it’s pretty far down in the rankings. Ahsoka is young and liable to get on your nerves. I certainly wasn’t her biggest fan at this point in the series. The biggest problem is that Karen Traviss is very anti-Jedi. Some authors for Star Wars tend to do this? To me, it’s weird. I didn’t notice it too much because it was one of the first Star Wars books I read, but it contrasts starkly with the truth of the prequel trilogy and some of the other entries in the Clone Wars Novel timeline, like Karen Miller’s books. Needless to say, although this book wasn’t super memorable aside from the familiar plot, it kept me reading Star Wars books, and so it is at least an average book. Plus, any content with Anakin and the clones is worth it for me. I love them.
22. A New Hope was good, for Alan Dean Foster. I’m not a fan, I’ll be honest. But this novelization stands on it’s own. I’m going to have to do a re-read to really go in depth on why this isn’t farther up on the tier list, but the movie is always going to be better to me. If you want to re-live the great beginning of the Original Trilogy, it’s worth your time. I mean, the story is full of adventure and mystery and lovable characters. What’s not to love? I just feel like the movie really elevates the narrative with a great score and fun character design/costumes/sets.
Padawan: These Books Have Much to Learn
23. Attack of the Clones was more entertaining than The Phantom Menace because the characters are in funnier situations. Obi-Wan and Anakin chasing Zam Wesell through the levels of Coruscant? Hilarious, just like the movie. Anakin and Padme falling in love as they spend time together? Holy fuck it’s so much better than the movie. Please read it for that alone. Outside of that, the writing style didn’t really impress me. And my experience with it wasn’t super memorable. There was potential to really make the inner dialogue of these characters impactful, to really develop the story of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme beyond what we could get from the movie scenes alone. I didn’t think it went above and beyond there. Not a bad story at all, but you don’t get to look at Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman, or Ewan McGregor the whole time either, so therefore I must rank it lower. So many beautiful people in that movie, holy shit. You can understand my, dilemma, yes?
24. I enjoyed parts of The Phantom Menace book, like deleted scenes with Anakin living on Tatooine before Qui-Gon and Padme meet him. The additional depth is lovely, but I think a story like Queen’s Peril adds more to TPM than this book does. The story overall is still fun. I love this movie so much, it’s hard for me to be critical. I did put a lot of post-it flags in my copy, so it does develop the characters and get you thinking beyond your expectations from the movie. What more could you ask for from a movie novelization? I’d say not much, if I hadn’t read Revenge of the Sith and had my fucking mind blown. In comparison to that, this one is just okay.
25. The Last Jedi novelization wasn’t bad, necessarily. It tried its best to bring this story up to par with some of the interesting novels that don’t have movie counterparts. But still, the plot suffers because of how this movie was made. It’s very focused on Rey and Kylo, and Finn’s little adventure with Rose seems pointless in the grand scheme of things. I’d rather read this again versus watching the film, but that’s all I’ll say on this because I’m trying to keep my opinions on this movie to myself to avoid digging up old arguments. Jason Fry did well, and of the two Sequel Trilogy books I’ve read, I would recommend this one over Ep. 7.
26. The Force Awakens falls short and I think it’s because of Alan Dean Foster’s writing style on this one? It didn’t really expand on anything from the movie, while taking away the beautiful music and visuals. This novel is the antithesis of Revenge of the Sith’s novelization, and for that reason I ranked it fairly low. I wouldn’t read this one unless you really really love the Sequel Trilogy.
27. To be fair, I read the new Thrawn book before I went back and read this one. Even so, Heir to the Empire didn’t impress me at all. Thrawn didn’t seem like a thrilling villain with lots of depth like he did in Timothy Zahn’s reimagined Thrawn novel. We barely saw him. A lot of time was spent on the Original Triology’s trio, which waasn’t bad. I thought Luke, Leia, and Han were all written fairly well. The latter part of the story was redeemed by the interactions between Mara Jade and Luke, for sure. Enemies to lovers, anyone?? Without Thrawn, this book would have been an entertaining story, but for all of the praise it has received from long-time Star Wars fans, I was expecting to be blown away and I wasn’t. Maybe I have to continue the triology to figure out what all of the fuss is about, but after this one, I’m not super motivated to read more. Change my mind?
28. Cloak of Deception really shines when you’re following Palpatine’s perspective because you can feel the undercurrents of his master plan to destroy the Republic underneath his calm persona as a Senator. Other than that, it’s a forgettable plot. This is all about galactic politics and some terrorist group trying to blow up some government officials. Basically the most boring parts of the prequel trilogy. I listened to the audiobook of this at the beginning of this year and I already forget what it’s about. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan should have been able to bring some humor and energy to get you rooting for the good guys,  but there was barely any of that. I was disappointed in all of the characters. Everything felt distant, removed from the heart of the characters. Some people in reviews have argued that the events of The Phantom Menace really pinned this novel in a corner because you already know what happens, but I disagree, because we know how Revenge of the Sith goes and The Clone Wars show is that much more tragic and heartbreakingly beautiful because of it. Prequels can be done right. This ain’t it, Luceno. Sorry.
29. Star Wars: The Old Republic, Fatal Alliance needs to go home and rethink it’s life. I’m a huge fan of the Old Republic and I’ve put like 200 hours of my life into playing that game, so I was hoping for some fun content in this part of the timeline. Sadly, this book captured the worst parts of the game, like the fact that there’s way too many factions at war with each other. Jedi, Sith, Empire, Republic, Mandalorians. They’re all here. They’re all ready to throw down. And I’m tired. As with many of the books in this lower tier, I felt there wasn’t enough description of the world or the people in the story. We’re in the gffa, be a little weird and wacky. Be big and bold! Make things terrifying, or beautiful, or both. But give my mind something to work with. The number of characters made the plot messier than it could have been, and it definitely isn’t worth the read. I can’t speak for all Old Republic books, but this one didn’t impress me.
A Sith Lord?! On My Bookshelf? It’s More Likely Than You’d Think
30. So underwhelming, you might as well just read the first half and then stop. Last Shot is absolutely terrible, except for Lando Calrissian’s characterization, which was spot-on. If the whole story had been from his perspective, I probably would have a much difference opinion on the novel as a whole. Sadly, this is not the case. Han was boring, he bottled up his emotions, and seemed drastically different from the badass he was in the original trilogy. There are different timepoints in this novel, and in all of them, Han is unrecognizable. Don’t nerf one of your main characters like that. Daniel Jose Older and I might just not get along. I thought his writing style didn’t fit Star Wars at all. It was like breaking the fourth wall, totally pulling me out of the story constantly. Also, there were little to no descriptions of body language, locations, or movement. It left me feeling disoriented the whole time I was reading. I thought one of the most interesting things would have been seeing Han, Leia, and baby Ben being a family at this point in time, but Han’s family was there as a prop, nothing more. There was a big bad item that was going to cause galactic destruction and our heroes had to go save the day. There was barely any tension and no one lost an arm so I’m pretty pissed off. Is it Star Wars if no one gets their appendage removed? I can’t tell you how much I disliked this book. Which is sad because I was hoping to enjoy it. I like Han. I like Lando. I like space adventures. I’m not that hard to please, or at least I don’t think so.

Hi! This is sorta a strange question and idk if you're the right person to ask, but hopefully you can help? My partner doesn't watch supernatural, but they've heard enough from me over the years to get intrigued, to the point that they asked me today for fic recs that "do something interesting with the dean/cas dynamic". The problem is up until this recent fandom renaissance I'd been kinda checking out for a while. I haven't seriously read spn fic in like, all of Dabb era and have no idea what good stuff has come out since then—the majority of fics I can think to rec are from 2013! I trust your character interpretations, so if you have any newer faves or just collections to pick over (on a personal note if you have any Mary centric fic recs I'd also take those), I'd really appreciate your input. Thank you!!
hi anon! thank you for trusting my rec skills <3 I honestly don't read a ton of fic because I spend most of my fannish time writing, but here's a few of my favorites, listed chronologically:
To Find a Family by linasane - 2015
the only AU fic on this list!  super compelling--warning, the sequel is incomplete
Home is Not a Place by imogenbynight - 2016
honestly, anything by imogenbynight is worth a read! this one really encapsulates a lot of the fun dynamics that were going on at the end of season 11.
He Can’t Sleep by 6or3dom - 2016
Cas struggles after his possession by Lucifer.  I don’t remember much about this one, but it’s a wild ride.
every choice a step to haven by @hamburgergod - 2018
amazing Cas fic!
all over the road by @outpastthemoat - 2018
always worth reading outpastthemoat fics :D lovely descriptions, and it’s so sweet
what needed to happen by lamphouse - 2021
this one is absolutely hilarious and 100% in-character. written post-finale.
I’d also recommend checking out my spn fic tag.
bonus: not fic, but if your partner wants to know why we all think that dean and cas are in love, check out this meta compilation,
Dean and Cas Are in Love by @elizabethrobertajones - 2018
bonus part two (obnoxious self-recs) under the cut
I wrote a series of coda fics from s11-s15--some of the ones that I think do a good job of extrapolating from canon to draw out those destiel moments more explicitly:
a word from our sponsors - 2016
11x20 coda; Lucifer in Cas’s head, taunting him about his feelings.
watching over you - 2017
12x12 coda dealing with Cas’s first confession, when it looked like he was going to die after getting skewered
sitting vigil - 2017
12x23 coda with the start of the widower arc.
catharsis - 2017
13x04 coda where Dean talks to the shapeshifter therapist in Cas’s body
pedestal - 2018
13x14 coda where Dean and Cas argue and then kiss
proving him wrong - 2018
14x03 coda, set after Michael finally leaves Dean
definition: love - 2018
14x06 coda, where Jack asks all the people in his life what love is
downpour - 2019
14x13 (Lebanon) coda
I’ve also written some canon-compliant (for the time it was written) getting-together fic:
The Most Magical Place on Earth - 2016
post-canon, Dean and Cas get together via a trip to Disney World
Right in Front of Me - 2017
post-series curtain fic
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Dean is Secret Service, and Cas is the First Lady’s brother who has to take in her son when she and the president die
I don’t have any good Mary recs off the top of my head, but I wrote a lot about her in s12/13 as well.   I hope this helps!

I read the ninth chapter and I OBVIOUSLY have some thots to share:
"He thought of things that he would perceive as a turn-off. Old people, Mattia Binotto, even Guenther, for fuck’s sake."- HEAFGZSKYDUV HAHAHAH STOP IM DYING and it didn't work as well💀 princess's powers are unmatched😌💅
"The Brit licked the Spaniard’s lips and, without wanting to, realised that the taste of Mick’s lips was much nicer."-Nothing to see here, just ✨teammate tings✨ honestly I cant blame him
"Callum fell in love with avoiding problems, and that was the problem. Even more so, when you don’t precisely know what the root of your problems is. Or, at least that’s what you tell yourself."- Callum is me, I'm Callum... 🤧
I HAVE to ask because of typical twitter callum's response (which was so good honestly): what do you think mick smells like?(at least in the fic I don't want to sound like a creep lol)
Your descriptions of the landscapes and Barcelona in general were just so beautifully written I'm in awe
WHEN CALLUM PUT THEIR PIC IN HIS PHONE CASE I DIED PLSS( needless to say I 100% believe this to be an actual thing between them irl)
I also need to acknowledge the fact that you included some schulott shoulder touching moments🙈 IT IS THEIR LOVE LANGUAGE so when I read it I was like: yeah that has definitely happened irl too👀
and although I am a sucker for intimacy and all that I appreciated the fact that you kept it realistic and made them be awkward about it rather than turning it to smut💕 (let us burn slowly with a few intimacy crumbs until the real deal queen, it's more enjoyable like that🤧)
and LASTLY the metaphor at the end-- I SWEAR YOUR MIND IS BRILLIANT you are 100% a natural at writing and I want you to know that 💖💖
This was a super long ask and I'm so sorry! But Im really stressed lately and these fanfics are really helping me escape a bit, I'm off to study now, thank you again for this beautiful chapter and i can't wait for more! Love you soulmate🥰
HI bestie! thank u so much for reading!!
• YESS princess’ power is indeed unmatched, unparalleled, unrivaled and all that 😍 callum is so DOWN BAD for mick, trust me. i can’t wait to write the parts of when he will finally express it (because he will ;) yeah this is a spoiler, sorry lol)
• AHAHAH ALL CALLUM CAN THINK OF IS MICK and i wanted to make tht clear, even with a hot (milf) person all over him, mick just occupies and lives in his head rent free. in a way, it becomes overbearing for callum, because he didn’t anticipate himself to be this down bad at all 😳
• ME TOO i relate to my fic’s callum as well, big time. fun fact, the first sentence of that quote, “Callum fell in love with avoiding problems. And that was the problem.” was actually stolen from this song in my schulott playlist (47 + 53) titled “come on mess me up” by cub sport, and omg bestie, i swear that song is one of the best, if not the best (mr perfectly fine by taylor swift being the exception), schulott anthem, EVER, period.
• MM WELLL in my fic, i imagine mick smelling like strawberries. at least, most of the time. to be honest, i can’t really give you a specific answer bff buttt, think of comfort, like the season fall, LMAO. he smells like comfort, and like someone who just got out of the shower (except not only does he smell like this post-shower, but all the time).
• THANK U UR SO SWEET
• RIGHTT i can sooo see it happening irl as well LMAO like smth thatd happen during their prema teammates era or smth HAHAH. polaroid taking, it’s always such a cute headcanon (i’m considering make this a frequent thing in this fic, maybe polaroids could be their thing AHHH)
• YES YES YES omg, im a sucker for like small physical contact like that that may seem meaningless to many ahaha. and shoulder touching is DEF their “love language”. that’s it, you worded it perfectly. it IS their love language omg omg omg (cue my mind playing all the schulott gifs of them making contact)
• bestie, i’m a sucker for intimacy too and affectionate moments in fics but thank u sm for understanding and appreciating the slow burn approach!
• THANK U THANK U THANK U ur the sweetest PLS, MWAH
I’m so so happy to hear that these fics are helping you!! reading these fics and engaging in fandoms, like our schulott one, comfort me as well so i understand you big time lmaoo. good luck on your studies!! dont forget to take care of yourself, love you so much more soulmate ❤️ have a good day :)

Porthos looked up at the grey, nondescript building and scrubbed his hand through his hair uncomfortably, then let his hands fall down to tug at his suit jacket. He had managed to put on an outfit that was making him feel both over- and underdressed – or, no, it wasn't so much the outfit as the situation that was making him feel ridiculously nervous. Someone who faced terrorists, bomb threats, mobsters and a disgruntled Captain Treville on the regular should not be intimidated by a meeting with the principal of his daughter's school.
But he couldn't help it, schools just sent him back to the time when he'd been the one called to the office for whatever trouble he had gotten into in his illustrious career as an adolescent delinquent.
He sighed and gave his sleeves a last tuck before he squared his shoulders and marched towards the building. Hopefully, Marie-Cessette had good reason to be in trouble and hadn't stepped into his shoes with regard to petty crime. Not that she'd ever even know about that if Porthos had any choice in the matter.
He made his way to the office and gave his name to a kind-faced secretary. She did not smile but her look was sympathetic as she lead him into a small hallway leading to a closed door. Before it, two chairs were sitting side by side, and on one of them was his daughter.
“Papa!” Marie-Cessette cried out and jumped up to rush to him and give him a hug.
He returned it and smiled, glad to see that whatever was going on, she was fine, no sign of tears, ripped clothing or bruises. “Hi, little bug.”
“Papa, they--” she started to say but broke off when the door behind them opened.
A man stood in the door, critically eyeing Porthos and his daughter. After a moment, he said: “M. du Vallon? I'm principal Porchet. Please come in. You too, Marie-Cessette.”
Porthos nodded and followed him when he went back into the room. Inside, M. Porchet shook his hand and gestured to the two chairs set up in front of his large desk. Porthos took a seat and pulled Marie-Cessette onto the chair next to him.
They sat for a moment in uncomfortable silence, and Porthos had to suppress the urge to fidget. Next to him, Marie-Cessette was losing the same battle, tugging at the hem of her shirt not very unlike how he had tugged on his suit jacket earlier. Finally, M. Porchet started to speak: “I'm sorry to call you in during work hours but I really felt the need to address this situation with you in person.”
Porthos made a dismissive gesture. “No need to apologise. I've got a very understanding employer when it comes to family affairs,” he replied. Well, that and they were between assignments anyway, so work was slow and mostly involved paperwork that ended up being used as paper planes Aramis and he were throwing at each other across the room.
M. Porchet didn't look exactly pleased by that – he was probably a stricter employer – but nodded and continued: “Alright, then. Now, are you aware that your daughter has an ongoing feud with one of her classmates?”
Porthos frowned and looked sidewise at his daughter. “I know there's one boy who she's been clashing with before,” he said slowly, trying to remember what exactly Elodie had told him over the phone after she had been called in to see the principal before. “I think he's called … Christophe, I believe?”
M. Porchet nodded. “Christophe Faucher, that's correct. As this has been ongoing for some time, we have kept a close watch on the two of them. Children fight, it happens, but the level of animosity between your daughter and Christophe is worrisome.”
“Marie-Cessette,” Porthos said, using a moment where M. Porchet had to take a breath and not caring that he didn't seem to be finished yet. He could feel Marie-Cessette give a start at his side at her name being spoken and put a hand on her knee to calm her.
M. Porchet raised his eyebrows at the interruption. “I beg your pardon?”
“My daughter's name is Marie-Cessette.” He quickly looked at his girl to give her a smile. “I'm well aware that she's my daughter, so please give her the respect to call her by her name when speaking about her.” He returned the principal's gaze with a hard look, which he knew was hard to resist.
As predicted, M. Porchet looked away first.
He cleared his throat and then said somewhat stiffly: “Of course. Now, as I said, we were keeping an eye on the two of them. For the most part, they seemed to keep it to the occasional insult and argument, steering away from anything physical, so we left it at reprimands for inappropriate language and made sure they didn't spend too much time near each other. That is, of course, until the unfortunate glue incident last month ...”
Porthos pinched his lips and fought to keep back a growl. Elodie having to cut their daughter's hair by about a hand's length to remove the strands stuck together with superglue had indeed been unfortunate, and he'd hated not being there, not being able to hug her when she cried about losing her beautiful blonde curls. They had just grown back enough that they were brushing her shoulders again. Porthos thought that she'd looked absolutely adorable with that curly bob but he knew that Marie-Cesette had loved her long hair.
Out loud, he said: “Elodie – my wife – had told me all about that, yeah.”
M. Porchet nodded. “We kept a close watch on them afterwards, in case any retaliation were to take place. Christophe had been punished, of course. But things seemed to settle down again. Until today, when they got into a screaming match during lunch break. I'll spare you the details but I need to tell you that we are very concerned about some of the things your dau-- Marie-Cessette said during this argument.”
Porthos raised his eyebrows and looked at Marie-Cessette again who had her arms crossed over her chest and was staring intently at the floor. “Which were?” he asked.
“Among others, she claimed that you are a super-spy,” M. Porchet declared, and Porthos felt a whoosh of air leaving his lungs as if he had been punched. “Never mind that according to our files, you are a pharmaceuticals salesman.”
Porthos kept his face carefully neutral when he replied: “Marie-Cessette has a very lively imagination.” He ignored the hurt little “Papa!” whine coming from his daughter. “Was that all?”
“No.” The principal steepled his fingers. “She also told Christophe that you would hunt him down and that you would hold him over the edge of a roof until he apologised, and if he didn't, you would break every bone in his body, one after the other.” He fell silent and let the silence stretch before he continued: “Now, lies and tall tales are one thing. As you said, Marie-Cessette has a lively imagination. But threats of violence of that kind are something we are not willing to tolerate, M. du Vallon.”
Porthos directed a frown at Marie-Cessette who was still finding the floor extremely interesting. “I understand,” he said. “I can assure you that I will have a serious word with her about this.”
M. Porchet nodded. “I appreciate that. Since it was still only verbal, Marie-Cessette's punishment won't be too severe this time but I sincerely hope it will not happen again, or I would be forced to take more drastic measures.”
Porthos sat up straight and looked the principal in the eye, mustering his best look of absolute honesty. “I'll do my best to ensure it won't, as will my wife.” He waited a moment, then added: “Lessons should be over by now, so I can take my girl home now, right?”
M. Porchet looked at the clock on his desk, then said with a sigh: “Of course. Thank you for coming at such short notice. Let's hope it won't be necessary again.”
“Yeah, let's,” Porthos agreed. He stood and shook the other man's hand, then turned and held out a hand to his daughter. “C'mon, bug.”
She looked at him with something that was a cross between a pout and a scowl – he had no idea how she managed to do that, and how it could be so cute – but took his hand. “Goodbye, M. Porchet,” she said politely, despite the general air of annoyance she was projecting.
“Goodbye,” Porthos followed her lead almost sheepishly. They made their way outside, with Marie-Cessette smiling sweetly and waving at the secretary when they passed her.
Once outside, Marie-Cessette pulled her hand free and whirled to face him, again crossing her arms over her chest. “I don't have a lively imagination!” He almost thought she would stomp her feet but the glare she gave him was impressive enough.
“You have, little bug,” he returned.
“Not about the spy thing!”
Porthos sighed and dragged a hand over his face. “No, not about that,” he allowed. He had known that it might become a problem one day – he hadn't wanted to lie to his family about what he really did but it was hard to drive home the need of secrecy to a child. “But do you remember what I told you about bein' a spy? What's the most important thing?”
“Uh...” Marie-Cessette's glare melted as she thought. “That you're keeping everyone safe?”
“That, too. But I meant that a spy needs to be secret, that no one knows he is one,” Porthos explained. “Else I can't work anymore when everyone knows I'm a spy, darlin'. You can't go around and tell people about it.”
His daughter's face crumbled in dismay. “I'm sorry,” she said, stretching out her hands, and he acquiesced with the unspoken request and picked her up. She hugged her arms around his neck and hid her face in his shoulder. “Christophe said such stupid things about you, that you're a loser and just a stupid salesman who doesn't even have his own shop.”
Porthos couldn't suppress a snort of laughter at that. “He doesn't know much about pharmaceuticals salesmen, then,” he said, unperturbed. “I mean, would've been impressed if he did. But point is, let him say about me what he wants, bug. You know I've got a great job. That's enough, isn't it? Your classmates can think whatever about me.”
She peeked at him and then nodded against his shoulder.
“Good,” Porthos said as he turned towards the visitor parking space and started walking. “And now, about that threat ...”
“I know,” Marie-Cessette sighed, “I shouldn't have said that.”
“Damn right you shouldn't,” Porthos agreed. “How do you even come up with somethin' like that? Danglin' someone from the roof?”
His daughter was quiet, drawing patterns on his chest. Porthos tried to be patient but when no answer was forthcoming by the time he had reached his car, he poked her with his free hand. “Cat got your tongue?”
She shook her head. “No, but--” she looked up at him, “you're gonna be mad.”
Porthos frowned. “Why d'you think that, bug? I'm not gonna be mad at you.”
“No, not at me,” Marie-Cessette clarified, “but--- Uncle Aramis, he--”
Porthos groaned. “He told you about that?”
She just nodded, and he had to fight down the urge to faceplant on the roof of his car. “Okay,” he said, taking a deep breath, “I promise I'm not mad. Okay, I'm a bit mad. But I promise not to yell at him, okay? I'll just tell him the same I'm tellin' you: Don't talk about things like that outside of home. And in your case, darlin': Don't threaten other kids, you understand? You can tell them I'll come and yell at them – no, wait, probably not that one, either. Just don't threaten them.”
Marie-Cessette could not suppress a giggle but then nodded, giving her best attempt to look serious. “I promise I won't, no matter how much of an asshat Christophe is being.”
Porthos laughed a bit desperately. “And where does that word come from?”
“Uh … Uncle d'Artagnan?”
Porthos gave in and slumped forward onto the roof of his car, bouncing his forehead lightly on the cool metal. “Shouldn't be a surprise,” he mumbled. He straightened up again and gave his daughter a glare. “We'll talk about that, too,” he promised her. “Lots of serious words to be had all around.”
She shrunk a bit under his glare and nodded.
“Alright,” he said with a sigh. He unlocked the door and set her down in her seat, then rounded the car and got into the driver's seat. A quick check that she had buckled herself in correctly, and he was pulling out of the car park and turning the car towards home.
Where he would have to have some words with those brothers of his. Wasn't it fun to have kids? Especially the part where he was also parenting two grown men in their thirties ...

A Queen and Her King Part II
Tumblr media
Before you read, here’s Part I!
Category: Mild Romantic Fluff, Friendship Fluff
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Characters: Sora, Kairi, Riku
Hello, everyone! Here’s my second story for Day 3 of @sokaiweek, this time for the prompt “Treasured Memories”! “A Queen and Her King” was just too cute not to follow up, so I hope everyone likes this story about how Sora and Kairi recall the cute little wedding years later! :)
Sora flopped onto his belly with a happy sigh, snuggling into the quilts and pillows lining the floor. He grimaced as something sharp poked him in the stomach, and he wiggled about until he pulled out one of Kairi’s stuffed animals, a teddy bear with a hard plastic nose. Shrugging, he cuddled it to his chest and settled back down into the little nest he’d made on Kairi’s floor.
“Man, it’s been forever since we’ve had a slumber party, huh?” Sora grinned, and Riku snorted from his spot in his sleeping bag. It was much neater than Sora’s mess of blankets and pillows, but Sora thought he was just being boring. Sora tossed a rabbit plush at him, but to his chagrin, Riku batted it away without even turning his face away from the manga he was reading. It was one of Kairi’s shoujos, but he was super into it— or maybe it was just because he hadn’t read manga in nearly two years and just wanted something to read.
“It’s a little weird when we’re our age, honestly,” Riku said, finally shutting the book and setting it to the side. He rested his hands behind his head and stared up at the ceiling, which was littered with those plastic glow-in-the-dark stars that were kinda tacky but lowkey awesome. Feeling Sora’s pout, Riku turned to smirk at him. “I mean, look at us. It’s kinda creepy that we’re in a nest of sheets and teddy bears.”
“I think you’re just a grumpus and I do not appreciate this attack on my good vibes,” Sora simpered with a waggle of his head, and Riku’s smirk quickly morphed into a disgusted frown.
“Please stop picking up slang from Hayner. I’m very convinced he’s teaching you stuff that definitely is not how real people talk.”
“Talk to the hand!” Sora huffed, presented his palm to his friend, who just rolled his eyes to go back to looking at the ceiling like the grumpus he was. Sora rolled onto his side to look up at Kairi, who was laying on her belly on her bed watching the two boys bicker with a wistful smile. “Kairi, do you think my slang is silly?”
“Oh, not at all. I think you’re very hip, Sora.”
“See? She thinks I’m hip,” Sora grinned triumphantly, looking back at his friend.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Riku droned without even pulling his gaze away from the ceiling, and Sora melted into his cuddly blanket with a whine. Riku chuckled at this, making Sora think that he just liked giving him a hard time, the big meaner. “Anyway, what are we supposed to do at this slumber party? Because Kairi, I’m sorry, but you are not giving me a makeover,” Riku said with a pointed look at the redhead, who laughed.
“Don’t worry, you boys will leave my house make-up-free— although it is a shame, I’ve got some shades that would look so good on you.”
“She could make those cheekbones pop, Riku,” Sora said, enunciating the “p” with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Riku responded with a loud laugh and threw the stuffed rabbit back at him. Unfortunately, Sora was not as dextrous as Riku, so his attempt to bat it away failed and it beamed him right in the forehead, its fluffy ears flapping into his eyes like cruel little bullets. It fell to the ground with a squeak, and Riku laughed at the surprised look on Sora’s face.
Sora grabbed the bunny to throw it back at him.
“Anyway,” Kairi laughed before the boys could tear apart her room throwing stuffed animals around, and Sora obediently cuddled the bunny, snuggling it right next to the teddy bear. “We’ve all been through a lot, but I thought this would be a good time for us to finally get together and talk about the good old days— our memories!”
“Memories, huh?” Riku considered with a tilt of his head. He then grinned, and Sora just knew that look was trouble. “Do you remember the time you two got married?”
Sora and Kairi wore identical expressions of alarm as they both screeched, “What?!”
“Yeahhhhh,” Riku smirked, reveling in the power he held over them at that moment. “You had built a sandcastle, Kairi, and you were the queen, but me and Sora had an argument about who would be the queen. Sora was the one who actually brought up the whole marrying bit.”
“Nuh-uh!” he insisted, even though he totally remembered it, and the blush creeping up from his neck betrayed it. Kairi was hugging her pillow, the only thing peeking over the top her wide blue eyes and her bright pink forehead.
“Yeah-huh,” Riku shot back. He was very enthusiastic about the sleepover now that he was embarrassing them. “Anyways, Sora actually beat me and I married you two. Kairi, you were so happy you actually cried.”
“Stop, no I did not,” she grumbled through her pillow. Now they couldn’t even see her face because she was squishing it in the pillow, probably to hide her blush. Sora tried to do the same with the teddy bear, but it wasn’t as effective, unfortunately. Growing frustrated with how easily Riku was embarrassing them, Sora sat up with a huff.
“Okay, Riku, how about the time that a crab pinched you on the butt and you cried?!” he challenged. Riku’s smirk was wiped off his face in an instant, and the color drained out to leave him white as a sheet. “Oh, yeah, you even had the audacity to ask Kairi to kiss it for you!”
“Ew, I remember that! I can’t believe you asked me to kiss your butt!” Kairi squealed, falling back onto her bed in a fit of laughter. Riku didn’t like that the situation had been turned around on him so quickly, so he wiggled down into his sleeping bag and zipped it up as a signal he was ending the conversation. Of course, he eventually came out and the conversation shifted, but he and Kairi made sure to mention that little gem any time they could.
Riku chose his stories a bit more carefully after that.
They stayed up into the wee hours of the night recounting memories of their childhood until they were just too tired to continue and passed out. Sora awoke with the dawn filtering in through Kairi’s window, as he was sprawled out on the floor at just the right angle for the sunbeams to spear right into his eyes. He rolled over with a sleepy groan, but his mind had always been too good at abandoning sleep. He found that it would not draw him back into its sweet embrace, and soon he was just lying there on the floor, cozy but awake.
Eventually, he decided he was parched and dragged his sleepy butt out of the warm cocoon to shuffle to the bathroom. He filled up a few glasses of water to drink, and after his mouth didn’t feel like beach sand, he turned around— and found Kairi standing in the doorway, rubbing an eye sleepily and fisting her nightgown.
“Sorry, Kairi, did I wake you?”
Too tired to respond, she just gave him a shake of her head. He chuckled quietly as a few sprigs of her disarrayed hair fell into her face or sprang up in tall, curly cowlicks. She’d always had an impressive bedhead, even worse than Sora’s spikey nap.
“Jus’ wanted some water too,” she smiled sleepily, so Sora offered the cup to her. He sat down on the edge of the bathtub while she drank from the sink. As she was taking a gulp, she suddenly snorted in laughter and sprayed the mirror with a mixture of spit and water.
As Kairi leaned over the sink to snigger, Sora grinned, “Still laughing about Riku kissing your butt, huh?”
“I can’t believe he asked that!” she giggled. They laughed about it for a while, and then they fell into a comfortable silence. After Kairi’s last drink, Sora kicked the wall of the tub with his heels. Truth be told, the kissing-butt story wasn’t the only memory that had been on his mind.
“So… We really did that whole wedding thing when we were kids, huh?”
“Yeah,” Kairi said, and he was relieved to see a pretty, nostalgic smile grace her lips. She turned around to lean against the sink, her hands clasped in front of her. “Yeah,” she said again, and the silence returned. Sora twiddled his thumbs, a pink haze appearing on his cheeks. Why had he even brought it up? So stupid… “It’s one of my most treasured memories,” she said suddenly, and Sora couldn’t help the way his mouth fell open.
“What?” she laughed at his stupied expression. “You called me the most beautifulest girl that you’d ever met,” she smirked, and Sora had to hide his face in his hands to conceal the bright red shade that his face had turned. He peered through his fingers when he heard her moving, and she had stepped up to him, standing between his legs to gently rifle her fingers through his sleep-mussed hair.
“Even though we don’t have crowns anymore… You’ve always been my king, Sora,” she murmured. In complete awe, Sora dropped his hands down onto his thighs and just stared at her with wide eyes. Hers flooded with tears and dripped down her cheeks, but she was smiling so jubilantly, so full of love, that he didn’t feel the need to wipe them away. “You said you would protect me… And you’ve kept that promise, all these years.”
“Of course,” he said. “What kind of king would I be if I didn’t protect my queen?” She chuckled at that. He wrapped his arms around her middle, tugging her a little closer while she continued to play with his hair. He remembered then why he had said those things back then, the depths of his feelings for her. He looked up at her then, unable to stop himself from saying with all his heart, “I love you.”
She stopped her ministrations in his hair, some of her fingers still tangled in the brown strands. It took her by surprise, he could tell from the way her eyes widened, and he worried for a second that maybe he had misconstrued her words. Then, her face softened, and she looked at him in pure and utter adoration.
“I know. I love you too, Sora,” she said sweetly. Her hands slid out of his hair to cup his face, gently stroking his cheeks with her thumbs. “I always have.” Sora smiled at this, reaching up to cup her face, too. He then pulled her face down, at first to press their foreheads together— but when his eyes fell to her sweet pink lips, he knew it was over.
He couldn’t stop himself from guiding her into a sweet, chaste kiss. Kairi hummed against his mouth, which made his head swim in the best way. Of course, neither of them lasted long before they burst into snickers, totally ruining the moment.
“You were thinking about—”
“Yeah, Riku kissing my butt!” Kairi howled with laughter. Sora hung his head, admittedly feeling a little disappointed even though it was so funny.
“I really hope I’m not gonna think about Riku kissing your butt each time I try to kiss you,” he sighed.
“Me too,” Riku suddenly spoke up from the entrance to the bathroom, making them spring apart. Of course, Sora only could fall backwards into the tub— and he nearly pulled the shower curtain down with him, leaving him groaning and wrapped up in the shower curtain in the tub. Kairi just sprang into the sink, banging her hip, and was now doubled over clutching the bruised bone. Riku just laughed, then continued, “Yeah, please don’t think about me while you’re kissing, that’s just weird.”
“Wouldn’t be an issue if you hadn’t done somethin’ so weird,” Sora whined. His body ached a little from his tumble, so he was just going to lie there in that shower curtain, thank you very much. “Actually, I wish you hadn’t, now you’ve ruined the moment, thanks.”
“You ruined it by thinking about it.”
“Can we stop talking about us kissing, please?” Kairi pleaded from behind her hands, which she was using to hide her bright pink blush. Sora finally crawled out of the bathtub and disentangled himself from the shower curtain. He ran his fingers through his hair and exhaled before giving Kairi a wan smile. She was still shielding her face, bits of red peeking out from between the gaps in her fingers. She was so cute, being bashful like that— it made Sora smile.
“Well, now that we’re up…” he started, pausing to yawn and stretch his arms above his head, “how about we go get some breakfast?”
“Yeah, breakfast would be nice,” Kairi agreed in a small voice, finally pulling her hands down even though her face was nearly as pink as her nightgown. They all shuffled out of the bathroom to parade down to the kitchen, but while Riku shuffled off muttering about pancakes, Sora grabbed Kairi and pulled her to the side to smoosh his lips against hers.
“Sora!” she giggled against his puckered lips. “What are you doing?”
“Showing my queen the respect she deserves,” he grinned with raised eyebrows. She snorted with laughter, then buried her face bashfully into his chest. He just snuggled into her, his entire heart filling up with joy until he was ready to burst. Kairi was a queen, and he was her king, forever and always. He wouldn’t want it any other way.

Being Spider-woman and being part of the Titans whilst also having a rivalry with Jason.
Masterlist
Fandom: Titans
Words: 2192
Warnings: like two cuss words
(Female Reader)
I swung my legs back and forth as I sat on one of the many billboards in the city. With my mask pulled up just up to my nose I took another bite of the burger I was eating. Looking across the streets I gave out a happy sigh and took another bite. As I was about to take another I stopped as I felt my senses tingle.
“Enjoying the food?” Came a voice from behind me.
Turning around a spot a man in a black and blue suit covering him head to shoulders with his eyes covered with a domino mask. I finally mask eye contact with the stranger and take another bite of my burger and hold eye contact with him as I finish chewing and swallow.
“Who are you?” I ask him as I bring my hands down, with the burger, to rest in my lap.
“Nightwing.”
“Spider-woman,” I said before turning back my eyes to the view and picking up my milkshake, taking another sip from it.
“I’ve seen what you do, and what you can do with your abilities,” Nightwing started as he came to sit down next to me, “and I’ve gotta say I’m impressed.”
“Thank you, I guess,” I told him as I gave him a sceptical side eye.
“Look I’m not here to fight you or anything, I’m actually here with an offer.” My ears perked up at that and I looked over to him encouraging him to continue.
“I have this team, of sorts, a lot of times they’re more like family to be honest, but anyways they have abilities, like you. And I’m guessing that you know that society and people with abilities that seem to defy logic don’t really mix well,” I have out a small puff of air at that and took another sip of my shake, “and so I help them. Not just with their abilities, but to have a better life than the one they’re living and to give them a chance to help people.”
“You asking me to join?” I ask him, looking at him once again.
“Yeah, I am,” Nightwing said as we made eye contact. Well more eye contact on my side as you couldn’t make out my eyes through my mask.
I pondered over the offer for a second as I broke eye contact and looked forward staring off. Still feeling Nightwing’s eyes on me my thoughts start to run. Thinking of the benefits of having a team, and the downsides rushing in and out creating a tally system.
“If it doesn’t work out can I leave?” I asked him after a few minutes of contemplation.
“Door will always be open for you to leave or join,” he said simply.
“Ok,” I said, “I’ll take your one week free trial.”
“Good to hear,” he said getting up and making his way to the edge of the billboard. Not getting up I still keep sitting and finishing my meal. Realizing this Nightwing turns around to look at me.
“Aren’t you coming?”
“Let me finish my food first.”

“Guys, this is (F/N) (L/N) a.k.a. Spider-woman,” Nightwing, or Dick Grayson, as he later introduced himself told the rest of his team.
“Hello,” I gave a slight wave to the group of four standing in front of me.
In front of me stood four other teens or young adults. One was a boy probably in his late teens or early twenty giving me an awkward, friendly grin as he gave me a slight wave. He also had green hair which oddly did not seem dyed or look like a wig. There was a pale girl standing next to him who also had the same hair situation, but hers was purple. There was also this red gem in the middle of her forehead, but she also seemed kind as she gave a kind smile. Next came a boy who seemed to be in his early twenties with brown hair sticking out in different directions and his arms crossed over his chest as his eyes studied me, as if trying to analyze my weaknesses. Then last was another boy who also seemed to be the same age as the other two, he was the tallest of the four and hand a red Superman symbol on the chest of his black shirt, but other than that he seemed to be normal. To be fair tho I don’t look out of the ordinary either and I can stick to walls.
“Oh my God, I’ve seen you on YouTube!” The green haired male said in excitement as he took a few steps to stand in front of me and greet me. “Hi I’m Garfield, but just call me Gar,” he greeted as he gave out his arm for me to shake it which I gladly did.
“Hi Gar,” I reply.
“That’s Rachel,” He turns to point at the girl.
“Gar I can introduce myself,” the girl says playfully rolling her eyes as she comes up to me and shakes hands with me. “Hey, (Y/N), I’m Rachel, good to finally have another girl on the team. The testosterone levels were getting too high in this place,” she jokes as I chuckle a bit.
“How do we know we can trust her?” Came the voice of the one with the brown hair as he still didn’t take his eyes off me.
“Jason, I know that what happened with Rose may make this hard, but we need to learn to accept others onto our team. We can’t let one bad experience automatically disqualify anyone new from joining,” Dick replied as Jason scoffed and left the room.
“That’s Jason, there was a girl who joined our team awhile back who ended up-“ Rachel was cut off by Dick.
“Rachel,” Dick told her in warning.
“Anyways,” Gar continued as he motioned for the boy with the Superman symbols to come closer. “That’s Conner, but he’s like a newborn...kinda,” Gar trailed off trying to look for the right words.
“What?” I asked as I looked from Conner to Gar in confusion.
“We’ll explain later,” Rachel said as she grabbed onto my arm and rugged me out of the room. “Now come on let me give you a tour.”
“Let us give you a tour,” Gar said as him and Conner followed.
“Yeah, whatever,” Rachel replies.

It’s been almost a year of being part of the Titans, and honestly it was amazing. I have been looking for a place to live to finally move out of Aunt May’s, though she says I can live with her as long as she wants. I wanted to relieve her of having to take care of two rather than just herself. So now having the opportunity to live in this place with the rest of my team who also double as my roommates is a pretty good deal, plus it’s not too far away from home. So I’ve been able to sling by Aunt May’s a couple of times for a visit.
Being with the Titans has been great. Dick’s been like a father always looking out for me and the rest of the Titans. He also cooks for us a lot which is honestly great because all I can really make are eggs.
Rachel has been like a sister slash best friend. Her and I have hung out a lot and I could see she was glad to finally have someone who was a little more alike to her, not just in gender, but in experience. As both of us struggled at controlling our abilities at first and both have negatively affected our family members, though hers is a bit more extreme than mine.
Gar and I have been binge playing video games staying late up just smashing away at buttons. Good thing I brought over my Xbox as ten two of us played online with each other as we screamed into the microphone at one another.
Conner was sweet and I learned that he was actually a clone, a fucking clone! Honestly to me that was super cool which he didn’t seem to understand, but appreciated nonetheless and I’ve enjoyed showing and teaching him new things.
Jason on the other hand, well he had to warm up to me. Apparently the last new recruit actually ended up betraying them and Jason had a thing for her, so his slight hostility and distrust in me was completely understandable. Yet, overtime as we became closer he warmed up to me and we became friends of sorts. Although, him and I have this playful rivalry going. We literally made everything between each other into a competition. Who can take down the most bad guys? Challenge accepted. Who can get back to the tower the fastest? Challenge accepted. Who can do more pull ups? Challenge accepted. Who can fold their laundry faster? Challenge ducking accepted. But with this friendly competitive relationship between the two of us also came some attraction towards the newest Robin, and honestly I don’t really know how to deal with it so I’ve just been keeping my emotions on lock down till by some miracle he reciprocated.

I grinned to myself as I crawled on the ceiling looking down at Jason. Slowly I made my way closer and closer to where he was training with his metal staff as he swung again as he let out another breath. As he faces away from me giving me time to jump down silently onto the ground behind him and jab at his right knee pit causing his leg to bend and for him to fall forward.
“What the hell?” Jason yells as he ends up falling into a kneeling position as he has one hand on the floor. He uses it to push himself back up and turn around to swing at me.
Blocking one of Jason’s blows with my hand I move to jab my fist into his abdomen to push him onto the mat. Not expecting it, the new Robin fell to the floor with a loud thud. I gasped out thinking I may have used my super strength to knock him back and made my way to him to make sure he was okay. However, in a sudden movement Jason took the staff and put it behind my neck to trap me to the mat with him.
“Where are your Spidey senses now?” He grinned up at me as he flipped us over on the floor with him on top with both hands still wrapped around the cool metal of the staff.
“Shut up,” I groaned, punching his side lightly. He chuckled at my “attempt” of getting out of his hold.
“You know you’ve been getting the upper hand in this rivalry of ours at every corner, but it seems like for once I’ve got the upper hand. I think I deserve a reward,” he grinned down at me cheekily.
“Oh, and what would your reward be?” I questioned him with a raised brow.
“This,” right as the words left his lips he leaned down to capture his lips with mine. My eyes widened for a millisecond before I smiled into the kiss and closed my eyes whilst pushing my lips back on his. Jason let go of the metal staff and instead led his hands up my throat to hold my face as he deepened the kiss. Biting my bottom lip he swiped his tongue on it right afterwards and I groaned in response before opening my mouth to allow him entrance with his tongue. I in turn had my arms trail from his side one fisting his shirt to pull him closer while the other going up into his hair to slightly tug at it, eliciting a groan from him.
“Are you two serious?” We heard a voice coming from my right and his left. The two of us pull apart, me panting on the floor and him sitting up straddling me whilst also trying to catch his breath, and we both whip our heads to the voice to see Gar standing there with his arms crossed. “Jason you literally asked me to come and train with you.”
“Whoops,” Jason said as he looked back at him giving me a wink before standing up and offering me his hand. Gladly accepting it I grab onto his hand and he pulls me up. “Sorry Gar, kinda loses track of time,” Jason told him, not even taking his eyes off of me.
“I’m sorry ‘bout this Gar,” I said turning to the green haired boy and giving him an apologetic smile. “I’ll see you guys later then,” I told the two before walking out of the entrance opposite of where Garfield entered from.
“Really dude? Why did you have to come in? It was just getting good,” I heard Jason complain at his friend before hearing him pick up the staff and take a whack at Gar which in turn solicited a yelp from the other boy.
“Ow, what the hell, Jason?” I heard from Gar followed by another whacking sound and another yelp from Gar.
