          “YEOW! Oh, that’s smarts!” Qbby exclaimed, still feeling the ‘phantom pain’ from the slice.

          “Box... smart?”

          “No, it means that it really hurts!”

          “Oh...”

           “Hey, you dropped thish.” Reaching with a very stretched out arm, Ankh grabbed the container of steamed buns (they were there before I just forgot to draw it OTL), which Qbby dropped once he briefly fell apart... in the literal sense. Handing it back to the box soon after, Ankh focused on the ‘magic vibes’ that the leaf shield was giving off.

           “..........!” How strange. The only magic she can feel from is not only her own... but Jobski’s, too.

...Whoo boy.

           “...It’sh gotten shtronger...”

           “What’s gotten stronger?”

           “...Their vibesh... their magic vibesh...”

           “Wait. Magic? UFO... has magic??”

Ankh did not even had bother to answer Qbby’s confusion as she was already glowing with a small big of her healing magic... onto herself.

            “I’m going in.”

            “Ankh... b-be cafeful...” 2FO watched in worry.

With a little bit of her power to keep the leaves from hurting her, Ankh braved through the hurricane-like ‘shield’. Admittedly, even she was struggling to keep herself from getting knocked off-balance. But as long as the djinn knew UFO needed help, she still persevered.

Step by step, inch by inch, Ankh kept on going forward. Right until she was finally close enough to kneel down to the fall-fashioned flying saucer.

              “UFO...?” She whispered gently. “...What’sh wrong?”

              “..........” UFO still had the beanie covering their eyes, but with their ‘imaginary’ hands raised it slightly to show distraught, teary eyes. Self-isolating for weeks made it hard to believe that Ankh was right here with them... Or that anything they’re experiencing is real.

               “...U... UFO.... d-do not know.....”

                “....What if UFO... m-malfunctioning?”

                “Mal....functioning?”

                “U-uh huh.... *sniff* UFO... F-feel cold a lot.... and imagine things. UFO... hear things n-not supposed to hear. See things... n-not supposed to see.”

                 “What do you mean...?”

                 “...U-UFO keep... imagining hands. Like UFO have hands... A-and see leaves... a-and now UFO... i-imagine Ankh on moon... *sniff*

....Ex-bosses are right... U-UFO... is m-malfunction.... Don’t know.... w-what to b-believe...”

A long silence followed. Ankh having quietly listened with great concern and confusion. The UFO said they’ve been imagining having hands of their own... ...but even she could clearly see them. White, gloved, floating hands...

...Oh. That time when she thought her powers were slowly returning while she was a UFO... those were always a part of their kind, wasn’t it?

                “........” With the prolonged silence, UFO assumed that the ‘imaginary’ Ankh would eventually disappear alongside these ‘imaginary’ hands.

But even the strongest sense of doubt could not prepare them for what Ankh did next.

               “.......!”

Ankh gently held one of their hands with the both of hers. There was no denying the sudden touch of warmth from between her hands, even if they didn’t have any arms. A warmth they had first thought was long impossible.

               “....Jobshki.....your handsh...”

              “....They’re real... they’re really here...”

             “....Jusht ash much ash I am.”

Suddenly, it doesn’t feel as shivering cold anymore. Even the harsh wind and brown leaves seem to have vanished as the realization sunk right in.

If 2FO and Qbby had any jaws, they would be dropping right at this moment.

If you’re like me and you like to play around with your OCs a lot, here’s some things you can do with them!

ART & CRAFTS

Put your OCs in character scenario memes! Here’s some I found on Deviantart.

Do an art trade where you draw someone’s OC and they draw yours!

Use those "Draw The Squad" templates and draw your OCs.

Crochet/knit/sew/etc. a plushie of your OC.

You can also make a paper doll! You can find tons of tutorials on youtube.

You can also make a figure of them out of something like clay, cardboard, or another material.

You can build them out of Legos!

You can also create a hand or finger puppet of them.

Draw a comic featuring your characters!

Create an animation of your character.

Draw your characters as animals!

Create pixel art of your OC! Maybe even make it look like video game sprites.

Draw your characters as playing card designs.

levi's attention was turned on your reflection in the big mirror, readjusting your dress and your makeup one last time, oblivious to his loving stare.

his hands sneaked their way to your waist, while you wiped away a small trace of lipstick on your teeth. that's when your eyes finally met his, reciprocating his smile.

“how do i look?” your question was useless, you could be covered in mud or wearing a trash bag, and levi would still think you're the most beautiful woman he's ever laid the eyes on.

levi let his mouth give you small kisses on your shoulder before answering, “gorgeous. as usual.” you playfully rolled your eyes at his answer. the one he gave pretty much everyday. the one that might seem an overstatement to you, but was an understatement to levi.

truth be told, he felt like he lacked vocabulary when it came to describing you, like no word would ever do justice to how beautiful you were from the inside out. so levi will have to settle for 'gorgeous', once again. and you'll have to roll your eyes for the umpteenth time.

"thank you. you look great too." he did look great, better than great, but the words simply did not find their way to you. the sight of a white dress shirt on your boyfriend was one that you didn't catch very often, for big occasions mostly. for instance, the dinner you had planned for your first anniversary you were already running late to. but when levi did wear them, you made sure to make the most out of it and take mental pictures for you to keep.

your lover's lips on your collarbone brought back your attention on him.

"stop... we're running late." hypocrisy was dripping from your words, and it seemed levi could taste it when you felt his lips turn into a smirk as you tilted your head to the side, giving more room to his kisses. a self-contradictory action, but one you couldn't help. your reason screaming at you to get your act together, but it seemed levi knew you too well.

"i don't think you want me to stop, darling." you didn't. the feeling of his lips was too enticing, and the map of your neck was one he could draw with his eyes closed. he knew perfectly which spot made you bite your bottom lip, how to make the butterflies in your belly fly ten times faster.

levi's stare was focused on your face twisting in satisfaction, and in this very moment, he was sure he wouldn't be able to find a more beautiful sight than this. that's when levi's lips started getting more agressive, you finally came to your senses, turning around to push him back, fearing the idea of showing up to the restaurant with a purplish mark on your neck.

"you seriously need to behave", your lighthearted words were recieved with a pout that you wiped away with a kiss in the corner of his mouth, before interlocking your hand in his.

"you're not making it easy for me." despite his protests, the idea of getting you all to himself once you'd get home, was enough to keep him on his best behaviour for the remainder of the evening.

Why didn't Ayano kill Chapter 4, since well….Senpai is her motive and well, I think she'd figure out pretty quickly that it's Senpai without having to see it?

What if there was a triple kill Chapter 5? Like dynamics wise and the trial itself? (DR69)

How would Yoshi likely react to the death of Mario, assuming Mario had Yoshi had a pet and all that?

Would the idea that after the explosion, the little killing game in the church would actually somehow continue but turn into a full blown killing game in the city?

How would the participants had reacted if Yuri had committed a murder?

Also, the Smiling Friends artstyle you managed to a T. It's really good and Pim looks so cute in it.

What if the entire cast was just Yuri cloned 16 times. What if Kaidou and Yuri have survived? How do pets work in a world of anthropomorphic animals? How did the participants not freak out that there were two anthropomorphic animals? Why do I have so many questions?

Hello 101 questions /lh

1. This one is pretty obvious. Ayano made a promise to Luigi in chapter 3 she would try her hardest to get the trust of others and help them out. She even showcased this during the chapter 3 trial when she was being falsely accused with her secret exposed. Ayano went onto be distrusted regardless, but remained determined to keep herself in line. She knew her Senpai would be the focus of any motive featuring loved ones, but that wouldn’t stop her from her promise. After all, trying to kill a situation like this always pertained the possibility of herself dying, and in that scenario she would not be able to protect her Senpai at all.

2. I don’t know, it depends who would die. I could see Parappa getting involved somehow, but not anyone else (unless Ayano decided to go to the 5th floor too). So it’d either be Fluttershy/Parappa/Ayano or Fluttershy/Parappa/Brian. I think the trial would become more complex, but also since three bodies would leave three times as many clues behind… it could go either way.

3. The Yoshi would be very sad, but I’m sure Luigi would go onto adopt it for Mario.

4. Not really. That wasn’t what I was going for in the story. The whole ‘new killing game’ was just meant to be a cop out to a) introduce Matt into the gang and b) introduce Gumi and how I wanted to portray her character. But it does sound interesting regardless.

5. The majority of them wouldn’t be surprised. Natsuki would feel upset and betrayed Yuri went the full way with it. Although, I’m not sure she would consider it as most people would suspect her in a trial (unless this was before she revealed her philosophy).

6. Thank you!! I think I can draw Charlie a bit better than Pim but I’m happy to hear you liked how I drew him too ^^

7. a) The Yuri’s would be very freaked out. One would snap first but you can’t ask me to identify who because, you know, they all look the same.

b) Kaidou may do a similar thing I described in this post (and by that I just mean from the 3rd paragraph about the bandages and down, as a sign of maturing). Yuri on the other hand would become like a typical DR antagonist, who’d have some moments in the trials but ultimately tries to skew things in the wrong direction in order to help let the killer win.

c) You ask the Bojack Horseman universe the same thing because I have no idea. Or maybe ask the MLP universe because it works with Fluttershy. I guess it depends on the theme of animals (if they’re all different animals then no pets).

d) Well Hayasaka and Kurumada did get a bit concerned at Retsuko at first, but just went along to accept it come meeting Bojack (slightly) because they all woke up on an island with no recollection why at this point they could start levitating and assume it’s all one big group hallucination or social experiment.

e) man I don’t know holmes you tell me

Any tips for drawing the twin's hair please ? Whenever i draw them, i always draw Sah's as like a spiky mountain with a curtain since i dunno how to draw tall hair yet

Dw Sah's hair has been evolved from mountain to Kagamine Len. Not sure if that's an improvement tho lmao-

hello! and hey for what it's worth, i also have my moments where i'm drawing their hair and i go "what.. is going on here" LMAO but also len's hair isn't all that different from spiky twin's so i'd say that's improvement! but here are some things i try to keep in mind when drawing their hair

ignore me emoting at the bottom. i would simplify their hair as a tear drop for sah and a half circle for mekh, but i also do not want them to appear Too flat. hence, the shape is a base to build off of. it helps us determine the direction of the hair, how we layer it, and the space it occupies. but sol, why a tear drop and not a triangle? to which i say We must consider that sah has hair at the Back of their head that also extends from the nape of their neck so it must be considered when drawing the hair as a whole

determining a point where the hair parts/where the bangs start from also helps us better understand how the hair flows from that point

mekh has a bang in the middle of their hair and some face-framing bangs along their jaw. you can still see the basic half-circle/dome shape of their hair, and you can see how the sections of hair logically appear to flow from the marked point on their head. the top of their head is round, the bottom of their hair is basically Flat and straight across (it's just a bob that's very flared out at the bottom) which is why the back isnt really visible from the front unless you're looking at them from a lower angle. case in point:

mekh as viewed from the back and slightly below. the traced line shows that the bottom of their hair is basically a circle lol

now sah is..... Certainly Something..... ngl im not so sure how to describe them but i will try. their bangs sweep right and i try to keep their hair in Big triangular sections to resemble the model more closely. the back of their hair Also sweeps right. id say the spikes of their hair run along the curve of the aforementioned teardrop, and you can basically use a differently-angled teardrop for the front bang as well. But Sol, you may ask again, why are some of the spikes labeled as being the Back of their hair?

ok this pic quality sucks but you get the idea. when viewed from the side, you will see that their hair also flows Back. you can also see the hair coming from the nape of the neck. sah's hair is actually like.. sorta shaggy and longer, pretty multi-layered in the hypothetical scenario that it isn't styled up which is where all those spikes come from. (i'd even say it'd extend lower than mekh's if unstyled since mekh's is so bluntly cut across.)

this got kinda long but some ending notes: honestly don't be afraid to stylize and you don't need to be perfectly on-model with their hair. there's nothing wrong with using references either, i have a bunch of screenshots of the elders from different angles and if you/a friend has the hair you can also just screenshot that to give you a guideline. and also don't be hard on yourself if it looks kinda off or anything because i have drawn a lot of spiky haired characters in my time and i still sometimes look at stuff i deemed Fit To Post and go "hm. i would have drawn that differently if i redrew it today."

but uh i mostly just hope this was helpful LOL. good luck drawing the twins!

Why do you as well as many other traumagenic systems typically display a negative stance towards endosystems?

Well, this is... a loaded question. (No hate to the asker, there's just a lot packed into this topic, lol.) I can't speak for everybody, because there's a vast number of reasons people might be against endos. I'll give you a rundown of the most common ones I see, but please take this with a grain of salt because this is just my perspective and does not in any capacity apply to all anti-endo, endo critical, etc. systems. Also, just because I am describing these beliefs does not necessarily mean I agree with them.

One of the most common reasons people are anti endo is because they see endo systems as romanticizing or making light of traumagenic plurality. By suggesting that they are having the same experience as traumagenic systems minus the trauma, it can feel like the meaning and impact of the severe struggles they/we face is being diluted and/or made irrelevant by people who directly or indirectly assert that they can have the same experience as someone for whom that experience is a result of terrible things that they have gone through. On that note, many feel like endos are making light of a condition and/or suggesting that it is fun/devaluing the severity of their suffering. These people usually want endos to stop using system terms and to separate from the traumagenic community partially or entirely.

Others take the medical approach. Currently, the only scientifically supported cause of plurality is trauma; we do not yet have much research or evidence for a broader spectrum of origins. So, some people don't support endos because they feel they are defying or devaluing science and possibly overlooking a medical condition.

Similarly, many anti endos are upset (and fearful) of the misinformation that is easily spread in endo communities. They feel it is dangerous to suggest to young or questioning plurals that they should not seek help/do not have a disorder instead of consulting a medical professional. They see the danger it can potentially cause to vulnerable and unsure people to tell them to write off a potential serious disorder/issue as... not that.

Others--this is the group I fall under--don't take issue with endos just being there, but with the integration of their community with ours. This draws somewhat on the first argument. We feel like our spaces and resources have been taken by endos and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find traumagenic spaces for support and community that do not include endos, who just do not have the same experience as us. Another part of this perspective is the fact that it can feel like endos are claiming to be the same as us or equating their experiences to ours where that is untrue.

There are also a lot of sub-points (for lack of a better term). For example, many take issue with the use of certain terms that they feel should be traumagenic exclusive. Others take issue with specific sub groups of endos, such as the tulpamancy-cultural appropriation debate.

So there's a basic rundown. Just to reiterate, this is not exhaustive by any stretch of the imagination, and does not all reflect my beliefs or the beliefs of all traumagenics, anti endos, endo criticals, etc. That being said, I hope this helps you understand where some people are coming from. Obviously, harassment is not justified in almost any scenario (the exceptions being, like, actual nazis), not towards endos or traumagenics or anyone else. This list isn't to justify any anti endo who is genuinely attacking endos, because that's just... not okay. But I hope it helps you at least understand where some people are coming from, even if you don't agree with or don't like them

You write agere fanfics right? I'm curious about if you have any tips? I'm working on one rn for a fandom I'm in and I suddenly find myself STUMPED when it comes to actually writing it, even when the dynamic is clear in my head.

I do write fics (they're in a fics tag here and Obscure_AO3 is my ao3)!! However I am terrible in terms of advice, I have to get hit point blank with the inspiration/motivation fairy to work on anything 😭 I guess, here's some stuff I do if it helps?

I base my fics on scenarios I return to often in my head. Like recurrent daydreams that comfort you, if that's something you do. Because I have an idea for what happens already in my head, that's a start.

Once I have the idea, I go through it but this time try to describe what's happening in a Writy Way, cause its more like a movie than a book to me.

To imerse the reader and give the whole thing a potent Vibe (of at least try to) I try to focus on the five senses, and also less identifiable senses. What do you first notice when you enter a room? The light, temperature, smell?

To add to the previous point, flesh those out by mentioning how those things make the character feel or think. Maybe the scent of vanilla reminds them their carer always makes cookies when they're upset - which both portrays a sense of comfort and love and shows the carer picked up on their feelings

On that last note, I'm big on the little things. I love pointing out small details and letting them imply things about the character's lives. Their rituals that give a sense of familiarity, their little flaws that make them human. It's a really big deal to me.

I guess my biggest tip is, think about how you think. Since the subject matter is agere, think about what brings you comfort. Think about your emotional states, how your brain and actions change while regressing - find a way to portray that that feels authentic to you. Essentially, draw from life lol.

Don't be afraid to skip around! Do you have that one scene all planned out but don't know how to get to it? Just write the scene. Any writing is better than no writing!

If all else fails, just start riffing. What's the first thing that comes to mind, any idea no matter how small. Just put one metaphorical foot after the other until you're running!

Sorry if that's not particularly helpful! I am. Just realizing now how much my writing is affected by my autism ahjkctbhmi, either that or I just described the basic act of writing and thinking in excruciating detail. Either way, I hope it can provide a little help.

彡Hi! I’m Skelle (they/them), and I’ve been writing and reading fanfiction since I was a kid. From me you can expect heavy ounces of angst should it ever be requested >:) (it’s my specialty hehe). Not all requests have to be story/fanfic related! I love having conversation with people in general! 彡 One of my favorite things to write is angst, mostly with little to no comfort because pain is fun. I really enjoy going into depth with characters and exploring their motives and using that in my writing. I’ve been working hard at getting better with imagery and descriptions. Unless specified otherwise, I will primarily use the second person narration so that you as the reader can easily put yourselves in the story without labels. That being said, I’ll happily write using whatever terms are comfortable! Also feel free to request headcannons and little scenarios! I am also totally open to doing little sketches of scenes or what not!!

For starters, I know you get this kind of comment all the time, but it’s true: Your style of writing is honestly so breathtaking and incredible. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever read anything better in my life. I always look forward to reading your works, and I just have to ask, how did you develop your writing style? It’s like - the details, word choice and plot are always so interesting and authentic. I really hope this ask isn’t overbearing, I’m just so entranced with the way you write.

i mentioned briefly that i initially wrote poetry, which i think translates into my writing style being on the more lyrical/flowery side, and up until recently i really struggled with and hated dialogue and anything character-centric. now it's my favourite and the prose has actually become ancillary in my process at times. honestly language/writing is my biggest and oldest special interest and i've always become really easily fixated on dialects, phrasing, words that stand out to me, etc, so i sort of collect them as i go and they'll get stuck in my head for days where i just compulsively repeat or draw them out with my hands — writing is just easier and more socially acceptable lol. i keep a very long list of words i like that i'm constantly adding to (i'm sure you can find some repeats in my fics) and i get excited at the prospect of writing something that could elicit the same feeling in someone else that i get when i read/hear a phrase that clicks for me. (recent example is in the early narration of baldur's gate 3 when one of the mindflayer's eyes are described as "wet, orange pearls" GOD i can't stop thinking about it) i guess it's like how some people get really hyped about solving math equations or puzzles. that's me when i can write something accurately to the way it feels in my head.

otherwise, i'm obsessed with tom riddle, so that helps. i was talking a while ago about writing an invisible life of addie larue au for him and that's because it's not an exaggeration to say he's always at the back of my mind. every piece of media i engage with somehow loops back to him. i am literally always Putting Him In Scenarios. for plots specifically, to be honest i actually find it hard to write on here sometimes because i always want to do more with him than i find i can in a oneshot! i lean toward longfics with ocs because, well, i get to Put Him In More Scenarios, and ones more niche to my tastes.

I’m generally a very quiet and reserved person, especially during first impressions! I’m kind of a shy and anxious lurking shadow who assumes the worst until I get a good enough feel of a person, you know? Then I'm comfortable popping in!

I tend to gravitate towards being "Designated Mom Friend" or "Big Sister Friend?" I love being able to make others feel better about themselves or to help them out. Maybe it’s because of some rough stuff in my past, but I never want anyone to feel similar to the ways I have. If you hurt someone I care about, I am never going like you. But if you hurt me? Eh..it’s not really new? I’m kind of..soft? I cry very easily, be it happy or sad, and it frustrates me! I’m not a soft and squishy person !..okay yes I am but I’m also trying super hard to be the shoulder people can lean on if they need me! Growing a backbone is a work in progress, and sometimes I worry I come off too harsh or mean when I actually use it. A friend once described me like glass; it’s fragile, but a broken piece can still really mess you up, you know? Glass-ness aside, my sense of humor is honestly very dry and sarcastic and you probably wouldn’t expect it out of me! I can get kind of angry over petty things and sort of clingy, but I’ll be fine after some time to let it all pass.

I like playing crocheting and sewing, drawing and writing, and reading tarot cards! I like doing things alone, really, but I love the company of others when they want me to join in. Because it does indeed get lonely being alone sometimes!

I have some really gross depression bouts and lots of anxiety disorders that I do my best to juggle, but, sometimes I just have to shut down for a bit and sleep.

Values: Someone who can make me smile when I’m really having a hard time! I guess that sounds a little silly, but even something small to distract me from my thoughts is huge. Loyalty also? Admittedly I get kind of jealous and clingy when people I like hang around others too much..especially if I don’t like those others. I also really like um..acts of service I guess it is? In the future i hope I'll post short comics that i myself draw, and gifs, animatics, anything really :] i just want to create, but i only started seriously learning to draw about a year ago, so it'll take a while before i do the things i need actual patience for lmao <3

I'm new to Tumblr ( I have only had it since the summer of 2023 ish). So bear with me as i learn how to use it!

I will post here very rarely (i can disappear for like 6 months at a time, that is a promise) but the rise fandom has motivated me to get better and draw again (hyperfixations go brr)

(i basically only draw Orion and Eshra but y'know-) oh, and i don't fuck with t-cest, that's nasty. I'm also not very invested in ships other than Semi-Feral Polaroids, so don't expect that from me

I made my own au a while back! I'm still fleshing it out and all, but i named it "slightly feral future leo (with ghosts)" or "sffl(wg)" for short. It's a very self indulgent "peepaw ended up in the past for no specific reason" au and it doesn't really have much plot yet, but i just like drawing cute turtle scenarios (a lot of the Leo's snoozing since they deserve a nap) or sometimes I'll draw some angst, (I'm very into angst, but I'm bad at drawing it lol)

Keep in mind that I've been very inspired by other creators and their au's when i created this one, most of it is cherry picked from others creations but i still like it. Even if some very well thought out and emotional concepts have been plucked and haphazardly shoved into my mess of an au, i just want to avoid as much confusion as possible by writing this long ass post ngl

I've decided to let people ask me things now. However, if you have any art requests whatsoever, just know that i only draw when I'm inspired and really, REALLY feel like it! I do still appreciate asks about my au if you're interested, though! (Art requests that i don't draw or can't draw might be saved for later and drawn in the future, btw. though it's not guaranteed)

Do you think shifting is real? I’m getting tiktoks on it again and I won’t lie it messes with my mental health as it convinces me I can go somewhere where I’m actually happy with all the media that’s comforted me for so long. I like how I’ve seen old posts of yours where you slap sense into people who want to shift and I need that right now. Ha.

If you're not hurting anyone or yourself, it's perfectly okay to journal, draw, and write all the fantasies you want. After all, what is the great comfort in media and fandom if not the experience of getting to see what it might be like to be friends with your favorite character? Or to see what it might be like to be with your favorite character in a more intimate setting like a date? There's nothing wrong with that!

Hell, I'll be writing these scenarios all day long for my comfort and others! It's fun to dabble in the heads of your favorite characters and see what it could be like if there was no universal divide. There's a lot of fun to be had in making your characters or even self-inserting into the media.

However, I don't care for the in's and out's of Reality Shifting in the sense of someone trying to explain to me how it isn't just another form of daydreaming. I won't argue if it's real or not. I will just say Shifting looks no different than daydreaming to me.

I'm sure that Shifting is just a form of mediation and daydreaming at the end of the day. It isn't harmful unless it impedes your life. Now, I won't tell people not to have fun. Listen, if you're having fun and you see that it helps you, that's okay. There's no need to get into the thick semantics of if Shifting is "real or not".

I'm not going to scold people for it. I want people to be able to have fun at the end of the day in the way that works for them best, and me talking about this isn't to shame anybody or make them feel bad. I'm just concerned for people's health. I just want people to be aware of the risks of excessive daydreaming and dissociation.

Because, it does not matter what you believe Shifting is, if you spend hours of the day in bed with your eyes closed tight when you have to do other things, that's not healthy for you. This goes for fantasizing of any nature, not just Shifting. 

I say this as someone who experiences Maladaptive Daydreams.

Your average daydream as you stare out of a math class window is not the same as a maladaptive daydream.

“Maladaptive” means you have an excessive amount of daydreams to cope with or adapt to a problem, and it doesn't solve the problem, it just allows you a chance to disconnect from reality to survive. It's not a healthy thing. It's not something I always enjoy. I wish people were more informed on the subject but it's not it's widely known.

I genuinely just want to warn people about excessive daydreaming. I want people to be well informed about what can sometimes happen when you experience a disconnection from your sense of self or your sense of reality. 

Hell, someone who's reading this might not even realize that there's a word to describe their Daydreams, and if that can at least help somebody understand that they're not alone, it's worth talking about. 

[Maladaptive Daydreaming]

Ever since I was young, I've daydreamed excessively to cope with things my little mind should've never had to have dealt with. It's a form of dissociation that's continued into my adult life to kept me cope, and that's true for many other people. This condition isn't a very widely known one or even vastly studied, but it does fall under the dissociative umbrella.

Imagine being immersed in a world that is so much better than your reality, now imagine what it might feel like to be pulled out of that. In that sense, you wouldn't want to leave the daydream. That's why it can be so addictive. It can get to the point where it interferes with your life on a day-to-day basis.  

I don't think there's anything wrong with daydreaming. I don't think there's anything wrong with having fun and imagining different universes. I think it's great that we can shape our minds to create so many wonderful things. I just worry for people who aren't informed about making sure that they are mindful in their consumption of fantasies. 

I can spend hours at a time in a daydream, totally disassociated from the world around me, and while having these vivid daydreams can make for a great writing experience later on, it's not fun to lose hours of your day. It is addictive, as it is a lot better to be in a reality where everything goes the way you want it to instead of the one where we live, you know, where things don't always go right. 

I've got a way better handle on this these days because I've got more tools and means to keep myself grounded, but the dissociation is still a part of my day to day life, even with progress.

I experience Derealization and Depersonalization in part because of this.

I understand how people feel when they want nothing more than to be in a reality where they feel loved and cherished by characters who love them all the same. I get that, because that's where people start excessive daydreams when they are young, in most cases, not all of them.

I just worry for people who get too caught up in their fantasy that they forget to live in this reality, if that makes sense. We can "Shift", Daydream, or what have you any time, but at the end of the day, we live in this reality, and we can't change that.

We have to fight to make this reality a better one, even if this one doesn't feel as fun as holding Saeran Choi to your heart, you know?

Make this reality the one you want it to be.

Don't let yourself not have fun with fantasies, though, because there's nothing wrong with that. Make those CMCs and Self Inserts to have fun! I do it, too. At the end of the day, just be mindful of the way you consume daydreams and roads that help you shape realities in your mind, no matter the avenue you explore them because you deserve to have fun.

Haha right? I didn't notice how long it was until I reblogged it.

8 - I do seek it out, but in like workshops or I'll go to friends/colleagues to read my drafts or WIPs. I take content crits much better than style crits just cause I'm really picky about how my writing sounds (?) when reading.

22 - My process is a bit chaotic. Either I'll have a specific thought or imagine a specific scenario or conversation or a friend will mention something that sparks inspiration. I'll usually write out that scene as best as possible first before inspiration fades, and then I'll plot out around it vaguely. Finally, I'll go back in and fill out the details of each plot point. Sometimes in the course of writing, things get changed or moved around, but as long as my core elements are the same (characters, motivations, conflict, setting, etc) then I'm pretty happy to go along for the ride.

Then I'll let it sit for a few hours and go back in to edit.

Every so often though - like Rainy Day Comfort or Wedding Speech - inspiration just strikes hard and I word vomit out like 600 words in an hour, spend an hour editing and then throwing it out to the world.

44 - The finger rule. If you can put your finger up to the screen and block out a section of text without it's removal impacting your story, cut it. It's hard to take things out but I find this trick at least helps me ID iffy places.

99 - I think for a little bit when I was younger I wanted to be a graphic artist for a while. I just really enjoyed storytelling and wanted to do anything in that realm - as a writer or artist or animator. So I would write and draw a lot when I was younger. As an adult, I found my grove as an editor. I really liked being the one authors can bounce their ideas off of and the one to help them navigate the business side. Sadly I had to leave lit editing and I miss it every day. But that is what made me pick up fanfic writing again :)

SKINAMARINK

I heard about this movie through a YouTube review by Mista GG and watched Kyle Edward Ball's "Heck".

While watching Heck, a 29 minute short film on which Skinamarink draws technique, plot and aesthetic, I struggled to engage.

The aesthetic is incredible. Record static and film grain on top of low-light film of a setting that you can almost recall from childhood is very effective.

The plot is tragic. Both as someone that had a decent childhood, but wears their trauma close to the surface, and as a parent of a toddler, this plot is dread manifested.

The technique is....difficult. To call it pretentious would be disingenuous and to call it a slog is to minimize a very unique film. It challenges you with, seemingly, hundreds of angles of the same house that aim to disorient you while evoking a feeling of familiarity. I can't begin to describe how many times as a child I would get bored and just stare at the room for several minutes, committing the space to memory.

All that being said, this film is incredibly slow. It builds dread to the point of numbness, and in my opinion, I thought it was ineffective.

I was absolutely incorrect.

After the film, I said goodbye to my friend around 10 PM and went straight to bed as I work early. I laid in bed for 15 minutes and fell asleep. Then I woke up and checked my phone and about 20 minutes had passed. Then I fell asleep and woke up. Fell asleep, woke up. Asleep, awake.

9 times.

9 fucking times this happened.

This was some of the most restless sleep I've had in recent memory. The absolute despair that movie awoke in me was staggering. I felt that kind of despair in my childhood and it felt like my parents couldn't understand what I was describing. I was essentially alone with, what felt like, an intense, horrible, metaphysical happening and I think of it daily. It informs my behavior and my thought process regularly.

Thinking of my child having that happen and thinking they can't turn to anyone devastates me.

Purgatory for a toddler. That's the vibe.

Anyway, I was not at all excited for Skinamarink for multiple reasons, but I couldn't stop thinking of it.

I could not fathom sitting through an hour and forty minutes of that. It's unique, for sure, but I could not believe it would be as effective as Heck. More is not always better.

The sound, the grain, the shots of doorframes and walls. It's very difficult for me to picture a scenario where the movie could possibly improve on the short film.

The plot and the voices of two young children in that film, sounded like a recipe for a bad time. "Children in danger" and "children being neglected" are some severe subjects that I truly fucking hate to deal with.

So a week ago, I watched a copy of the film, and I gotta say: I stand by every original feeling I had.

The scenes with children in danger were painful to watch.

The sound quality and voices were garbled the entire time and very difficult to listen to.

The subtitles that he used, while helpful, absolutely suck you out of the experience.

Finally, the runtime is oppressive. An hour-forty is absolutely painful. While I absolutely love horror, when the soreness you get from tensing and gripping the edge of your seat dissipates, you're left wanting.

HOWEVER. The only thing I regret, is not paying for the opportunity to watch it.

The movie is, in my opinion, good. It's just, as I knew going into this film, it's not for me.

Kyle Edward Ball is fucking brilliant. His direction, technique and clear acumen for horror are clear and far greater than most and I'm ecstatic to purchase this movie on home video and never watch it again.

Give it a watch, consider your feelings and engage with the film community to discuss why this film, while not for everyone, is incredibly important.

Tokyo After School Special - [PAUSED]

I'm very sorry to say that this project is still in development. I have yet to improve my drawing skills that I believe would fit this game. Since I am going to school for game development, this will help me craft this project into something I can proudly present to all of you! Thank you for your patience!

Present Danger - [COMPLETED. WILL UPDATE EVENTUALLY]

This game was honestly rushed, and I can do better. While I have utilized some of my skills to create some of the assets, this game is still rough around the edges (not to mention the frame rate, yikes...)

Since it was a small project, improving it will be on the lower list of priority.

Shiro and the Missing Pages - [IN DEVELOPMENT]

The title is a wip.

I got another idea for a fan game :')

I won't reveal much about it until I am ready to release it as a demo

so who knows how long that will take :/

All I will reveal is that it stars our beloved self-cock-blocking nerd, Shiro Motoori looking for his missing pages while chatting it up with the other eldritch classmates.

HOUSAMO X TOUHOU FANGAME - [PAUSED]

In case you followed my twitter, this game was in development before any of the other fangames. Bullet Hells are pretty hard to develop, and I honestly didn't have any idea for the story at the time. While stirring my creative juices, I have eventually came up with a few ideas that will help me get this game flowing. As stated before, I will refrain from revealing anything from this game until I am able to release a demo first. All I will say is that it takes place during "Ueno's Fluffy Dream Kingdom".

FANFICS

I use fanfic submissions to help me with my creative writting. I feel I get better with every fanfic posted, but I would love to hear feedback! Currently, I accept any type of fanfic requests, i.e. Character x reader, character x character, scenarios, etc.

Due to my inexperience with writing fanfics, I've decided to implement a type of "Story Length" upon requests. Basically, when asking for a fanfic of anything, I will ask a Length:

SCENARIO - Bullet points describing the event. Great if you let your imagination do the work!

EXAMPLE:

🦬Wakan likes the smell of flowers during spring

🦬He'll take you on dates on the cafe

🦬He'll order the strawberry parfait and let you try some.

DRABBLE - 100 words or less. Great for on the go reading!

FLASH FIC - 500 words or less. Good for a tiny story!

FANFIC - About 5000ish. Wonderful if you want to kill some time!

I love ideophones, onomatopoeic words that sounds as the thing they're describing. LOVE THEM.

Croccante (crunchy), in italian, it just gives you that idea of crunchiness when you say it! /krok-KAN-teh/ Sibilo/Hissing (meaning the same thing), you need to hiss to pronounce them? Wonderful.

Give me some well-done allitteration and I'll be yours forever, also don't let me start talking about Coleridge who was a genius in giving sound to his poetry ("furrow followed free" *swoons*)

I also love big, altisonant and funny-sounding words that takes too much time to say, or, as a person who studied philology, words that have history to them.

Pantagruelism (buffoonery or coarse humor with a satirical or serious purpose : cynical humor ) (also buffoonery is a great word) Boycott (to engage in a concerted refusal to have dealings with (a person, a store, an organization, etc.) usually to express disapproval or to force acceptance of certain conditions) who comes from the name of an Irishman that just... Decided to stop paying taxes to the English.

As "Feral" in the sense of words I can't stand... anything with a "squelchy" sound (squelch is another onomatopoeic word... But it's a kind of sounds that triggers me and I can't stand xD). "Squelch", "Moist", in italian "Ciuccio" (EEEEW. Ciuccio is probably one of the words I find the most horrible ever. PLEH. /TCHOO-tchow/ . I repeat. PLEH.)

19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?

I started very early on as a hobby. In my family we all write little silly stories for funsies, so I just... Followed the example and wrote my own. I think I started writing prose along with comics (a friend and me used to draw little comics one for the other). I came to an abrupt stop with prose in my early 20s: I started playing GDRs that worked with writing what your character did... And it was fun, but I was getting problems with Anxiety, very stressed, and a couple of bad comments convinced me my prose was boring and hard to read. I felt EXTREMELY self-conscious about it and stopped with prose whatsoever, just stuck to comics and screenwriting where I could rely on drawing. I got back to prose... In September, with Dragon Age fics. It's being a difficult and busy period, but I still needed some creative outlet. So I started to write because it's quicker than comics, I can do it on my phone, with zero instruments to bring along and needing no space. It was just for my own consumption, when inspirations stroke or I played something that left me with a "Yes that was good... But I want MORE of it. I think the first think I blorted out was this Trespasser piece (it's longer on my file, there's an extract). I started to write pieces here and there... And then thought it would have been nice to have a place to put them all in order. And sent a request to AO3. (as a person who once said "No I could never write fanfiction!". Look at us, little me, we're getting better!)

26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?

Massively daydreaming, doodling things, roleplaying them in my head. DnD alignments and personality tests GREATLY help me to get to know them better (MBTI works fine as guidelines, as Tarot cards and even Zodiac Signs. Don't believe in Astrology, but as a personality test it's fine enough). Listening to music and imagining scenes and scenarios on it. Whatever works. I get out when I need to focus on other things, mainly I change the playlist. xD

36. They say to Write What You Know. Setting aside for a moment the fact that this is terrible advice...what do you Know?

I know passion and believing in my opinions and standing up and making them heard. I know sadness and melancholy, I know of crippling anxiety and being scared and feeling little... And how to live with it. I know blood does not run thicker than water, and that sometimes your family is not the one you're born with, but the one you find for yourself. I know of distances, and that they don't really matter with the right people, not today, not with internet. I know kindness even if it's still a work in progress. I know my mistakes and of trying to learn from those and getting better. I like to think I know of books, or that I am enthusiast enough to reference them and take inspirations from dead authors, lore and mythologies, finding patterns and recurrencies. I know of sailing and the sea, and I'm lucky to know what it feels like to have an animal choose you as its companion.

... And this is getting sappy and too lyrical so I'll stop. Oh, I know when I'm getting sappy too!
