can't believe a show based on a videogame (usually games adaptations are notoriously bad, which isn't the case here tho) gave me the beauty and the beast/twisted mirrors/enemies to traveling companions/ruthless antihero+optmistic but still badass heroine who takes none of his shit/age gap but make it sexy dynamic of my dreams. as much as i love maximus and i think he deserves the best writing ever because 1. he's a clever deconstruction of the aspiring Knight bro who's actually a bit of a loser and, as much as lucy, sees the world in black&white at first and then doesn't get what he thought he wanted but what he needs (or at least i hope he'll eventually get it), and 2. he's a cutie and i want an epic love story for him too, it's very funny how they tried to give us a puppy kind of romance and the tumblr girlies still fixated on the "toxic ~she bites his finger off and he cuts hers off and sews it on his hand in what we'll pretend it's a symbolic marriage rings exchange or whatever~ asshole who used to be a nice guy/good girl™ with a lot of spunk and hidden anger but unshakeable morals" kind of relationship.

I would've done the same thing Spider-Byte did and let Miles go not bc I care about him or anything I would literally let any person I've ever met go if they were in the same situation not bc I want to be nice but bc Miguel was literally going to commit murder there he was running on all fours with his fangs and claws out, assaulting that machine thing like it's made of paper, so I would just let someone go cuz I'm not in the mood to clean up someone's blood and guts from my computers today or any other day no thanks rip to my boy if Miguel finds him in BTSV tho let's pray that he never will 🙏

i know it's popular fanon to think that essek has little to no relationship experience and i do think his bedroom experience is average at best (for a hot young* elf) but i Personally think he's got a long line of heartbreaks behind him. i mean this so slash negative slash derogatory i think he was out there wining and dining and leaving-behining all the time. just for fun and profit. working on his acting chops. showing off. he likes attention dude. i don't think that's directly contradictory to him being very reclusive and quiet about his work i think he was mysterious and sexy and thought flirting was funny. anyway he and caleb "genuinely falls in love with every other person he meets and then is really weird about it, EXCEPT for essek, who he was genuinely honeypotting" widogast, who essek was also genuinely honeypotting for reasons Far beyond boredom (see: i think some of his early weirdness/awkward formality can be explained by the fact that he was trying to mask real homicidal rage towards the m9) are insane together they're ride or die they're perfect for each other they're lifelong "friends" and they're playing mind games the likes of which would level a city park id they broke out of containment. and it's enrichment for them

✨ happy 8th birthday to my bestest boy, the beloved leader!!! ✨
Each background has meaning, alluding to special moments Ephemera shared with his friends:
Ven - The gears of the clocktower, referring to the scene where he, Ephemera and Player fought the bugs together. The rulebook is also there as a nod to when Ephemera encouraged Ven to speak his mind during the meetings.
Lauriam - The background is a simplified version of the meeting room, where he helped Ephemera relax a bit, and gave him the idea for Shift Pride. The flowers are chrysanthemums, which symbolize happiness and well-being
Blaine - The two leaders sharing Master’s Defender, with a piece of the Missing Link/Scala emblem broken off to form a crown.
Skuld - The twin Starlights, always mirroring each other. The outline around them is reminiscent of the glow that appears when they do their combo attack.
Player - The background is their meeting place, the tiles found all over the fountain plaza.
