Strange Trails
It's been bouncing around me head for a solid minute. Lets go Merlin!
The last thing Arthur expected to deal with after returning from a monthly patrol route so early into his Regency is the fact that Merlin has magic. After the situation quickly spirals out of his hands, he'll have to learn to live with his decisions. Meanwhile, Morgana moves in the shadows, but when her plan to tear a hole in the veil between worlds is quickly squashed, she might be forced to face something she thought she could avoid much longer - the consequences of her actions. Merlin got burned at the stake. While the journey back to his magic could be considered simple, the journey back to what he considers himself may only be beginning. ---- Merthur Endgame Canon-Divergence

The Possible Symbolism Of The Name Nine
Yeah, yeah, I know I already did an analysis of Nine but this just got stuck in my head and I needed to post this. I already did an analysis of what Nine represents, but I found another thing interesting and that's the act that they just named him "Nine".
One thing I learned is that SEGA name's their characters for a reason. Like, Sonic was named due to how fast he was (the term supersonic speed), Shadow was named due to being a complete opposite doppelganger to Sonic, Amy Rose (originally Amelia Rose) which Amelia is deprived of germanic meaning work, reflecting her hardworking personality and Rose, reflecting her everlasting love for Sonic.
While Tail's is a nickname, which basically comments on how he had two tails, his real name is Miles Prower (being a pun on "miles-per-hour", nice job SEGA).
However, Nine's name is just Nine in-universe. Just Nine and nothing else. But what does it reflect and say about him?
Nine is a cold, blunt, bad-tempered, emotionally distant, psychologically exhausted, love/touch-starved kit who had NOTHING until Sonic came. But what does the title Nine say about that?
Well, I did a lot of research and it turns out that naming him Nine has a LOT of possible symbolism.
Let's get the obvious out of the way, it's clear that the term Nine refers to his extra tails and also due to the fact that he was based on the Japanese folklore of kitsune. Kitsune when reaching the final stage of maturity gains nine tails, so it's perfect for a mature and tired variant of Tails.
But looking into the symbolism of the number Nine more I found a LOT more interesting things.
There's another belief in Japan that contains the number Nine. It turns out the Japanese word for Nine sounds almost exactly the same as the Japanese word for "Suffer" or "Torture", and as a result, the number is considered to be an unlucky number. From what we've seen Nine HAS suffered A LOT and most likely will continue to suffer, and he's a very unlucky variant of Tails.
Japan isn't the only one who thinks of Nine as an unlucky number. Some religions consider it to be bad due to it being one short of 10.
However in some religions, like Hebrew, Nine is a symbol of truth, and while it can reflect on how blunt Nine is, it can also become ironic if Nine refuses to accept the truth that Sonic can't ever be by his side in The Grim.
In numerology, the number Nine represents completion - not a final ending, but a fulfillment of one cycle. The number also represents world experiences. Not to mention many phrases such as "cats have nine lives", and "dressed to the nines" also seem to relate to the maximum or fullness of something when every effort has been exhausted. However there are bad traits to Nine, unrealistic standards (for self or others), or being prone to over-giving.
In Christianity, Nine symbolizes A LOT of things so bear with me here. In Christianity, the number Nine is considered neither good nor bad, rather very ambiguous (which relates to the moral ambiguity of Nine). It can be considered the number of destruction or illness, but it can also represent completeness or finality.
An interesting thing about the symbolism of Nine in Christianity is that while it is associated with the crucifixion of Jesus (Christ died at the Ninth hour) it's not considered bad because the death of Christ opened the gates of salvation for humankind.
According to the Christain God's Word, Nine represents judgment, patience, harmony, development, and creation. Nine holds a lot of judgment towards others, Nine while mild-tempered shows some patience with how he sticks with Sonic despite the hedgehog getting them into trouble, Nine doesn't show harmony but he might in future episodes, Nine develops a LOT in the show, and the creation one is his knack for inventing.
In folklore, the number Nine is considered to be Triple Perfection or Harmony x3. I'm not sure what this represents but I thought that was interesting.
There's a thing called the Day of Atonement, which occurs on the Ninth day of the seventh month (July), and is considered a holy day for the Jews in the Bible.
There are more things like Hoshea reigning Isreal for Nine years, or how the destruction of Jerusalem's temples on the 9th Av on the Hebrew calendar.
Whew! Ok, so those are the symbolisms of the number Nine I could find that could relate or possibly relate to this character. Sorry, it was so long, but I tried to put as much as I could from what I could find but I didn't want to turn this into some sort of religious lesson. If you guys somehow managed to get to the end, I hope you somewhat enjoyed it.

OUR LOVE | CHRISTIAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: Life was quiet. There was no blaring music from the Moulin Rouge or the streets alive with creativity and people bustling with excitement, but a part of Christain didn't mind the quiet anymore if it meant he got to indulge in a peaceful morning just with you.
Warnings: gender-neutral reader, all fluff. W/C: 872
Notes: ahh, i just watched this movie, and i needed to write a blurb about him. i'm going to try and write more blurbs like this was ewan mcgregor's, less popular, of course, characters, because i am in love with him

The subtle trace of a fingertip against your bare arm was enough to arouse you from the sleep that had claimed you many hours ago. You peeked an eye open, carefully watching Christian as his finger drew circles across your flesh, enraptured by the softness and beauty of it. He appeared intently focused on each dip and curve of your skin, admiring every inch of it as he did last night. Finally, your eyes opened fully, but you remained quiet, content with watching Christian perform his ministrations.
Your skin was still bare from the night before, the cotton sheets being the only thing to provide you any modesty. The warm blankets threatened to pull you under sleep's spell, the drowsiness finally catching up to you. You resisted the pull, blinking the sleep from your eyes.
Your leg brushed against his, and Christian's eyes tore from your arm and raised to meet yours. You melted under the sheer admiration and love brimming in his irises as they moved across every intricate detail of your face. You were indeed the incarnation of beauty as the sunlight poured through the open window, encasing you in a heavenly warmth that made you seem more ethereal.
He would say that he's sure to have memorized every detail of your face by how long he's admired it, but that's just not true. He would never fail to find a new scar or maybe a fresh freckle was strewn across your cheek. He would make sure to place his lips on any newly discovered markings he found, amazed by your ability to surprise him with something new, no matter how small. He liked the unknown you had brought to his previously drab life.
His hand moved with a will of its own to your face, his hand cupping your supple skin laced with sleep.
"Good morning, my love," the slight rasp in his voice from not using it brought a smile to your face. He must have woken up not long before you. Good, he deserved every second of sleep he could obtain after Satine's death.
It haunted him, and for a while, he was stuck in a place of regret and guilt, wrapped up in his mind's delusions, until he met you.
Christian was convinced that he could not love after his first, that no one could compare to the beauty and chaos she had placed over his life until you stepped through his apartment. Granite, it was purely accidental. You had mistaken your friend's flat for his, but when his eyes fell upon yours, the world seemed to fix itself. Instantly, there was a shift in his heart from mourning to hope, and boy, what a refreshing feeling it was. It brought a new light to his life that had previously shrouded over in darkness, like the rain clouds parting for the sun. At that point, he also realized the true meaning of Satine's dying words. She wanted him to love, to live a life outside of her and the fantasy they had created. It took a while to make that shift, to let someone else into his fragmented heart, but you were patient, slowly putting the pieces back together, placing a kiss on each one you patched up to remind him that he wasn't alone and above all that he was loved.
The process of healing from such a traumatic event was long. However, even from that day when you had embarrassedly asked him for the right room, promising him to see him again, he had begun to heal.
Now Christian stared at you, his heart in your hands. And although it was scarred, you cradled it so gently that he couldn't help but not be at ease.
"Good morning Christian." His chest hummed with the airy laughter that left his thin kiss-bitten lips, his starry blue eyes never parting from yours. "Sleep well?"
"How could I not with you at my side?" Now it was your turn to laugh while he adjusted himself on his elbow, his fingers tracing the outline of your face.
"Such a charmer," you cooed, pushing a silky onyx strand of hair from his eyes.
"I would be anything for you, my darling. You need only to ask."
"Oh yeah?" You raised an eyebrow, and he chuckled, his head slightly shaking.
"Yeah," he murmured almost breathlessly.
"I want you to love me."
"But my sweet, I already do." The crease between Christian's eyebrows deepens, his eyes filling with confusion as your hand moves to cup his face, and within seconds he relaxes within your touch, soothed by your actions.
"That's the point."

"if you were in his shoes you would have done worse" No i wouldn't. Not even a single time in my whole life i have ever ever made fun of someone cause when i was a child i was told that if you make fun of someone god will punish you and will make the same thing happen to you that you're making someone's fun of. And till this day i belive in that thing so i never once tried to make fun of someone even by calling someone short, fat, black this that. Idk about y'all but that's a very common thing in my country which is told to everyone when they're child..
i said jk WAS mean to jm implying past tense. Me liking jk has nothing to do with how he was with jm i can like him and can still acknowledge he was mean to jm but with time he matured.
I would never ever rank my friend last in looks who's very clearly insecure about his looks as people made him insecure like that. I would never ever make fun of my frnd's voice who's again clearly insecure over his voice. I could never say such things to someone who cares so much for me like i would hate myself if i ever made someone sad or made fun of them. Idk maybe it's because the family and environment that i grew up in where no one makes fun of eachother or thinks it's a bad thing.
Now you put yourself in jm's shoe and i ask you how would have you felt when the person you care so much for made fun of your insecurities. Jm was young himself at that time but yeah let's make fun of him and call it a harmonal things sure. Don't forgot to answer me what you would have felt.
Religious trauma I can relate I was told God will rain fire on me if I sodomized 🥲
Like I said, JMs feelings are valid- it's yours I'm questioning. You and our other cousins who hate JK🥲
Jungkook was thrust into all this at 13 years old💀
Wait.... since we comparing traumas I was raised by families who would show me videos of people screaming in hell images of men and women being whooped to death every sabbath as a way of explaining what will happen to me if I strayed from my Christain beliefs.
I got cut with glass every time I broke them. I got shaved as a way to punish me- my father once say my shaved head and said with that I doubt you'll ever make fun of anyone- yes, I liked giggling at everything and everyone and that was my punishment. I went a whole week without food to teach me gratitude because I failed to say grace at dinner
I get roasted for my looks my failures my dreams my desires just as a way of my family and community expressing love and affection🤭
You are so blessed if you grew up in such a healthy environment-
But imagine the rest of the world ain't really like that and Jungkook at 13 had to do a lot of his growing up on camera around strangers and people he didn't know🙃
13.
If I was 15 and a 13 year old kid made fun of me- I'd question why the fuck he or she is even in my space talking to me. He or she should sit at the kids table. I don't do babies.
My sister and her friends never played with me and always acted as if I was still in diapers when I tried to socialize with them.
I hate people that are disrespectful and would keep my distance cos that's what any self respecting teen would do 😩
And if I couldn't keep my distance I would whoop their ass on God 🥲💀
Which is exactly what Jimin said too when he was supervised by that kid to wash a plane. He said he was going to whoop them if they were in Korea.
So really he should have just whooped Jungkook and called it a day💀
He gave JK too much power over him. Hobi out there throwing bananas at him and shit😩
I would have bleached his eye brows while he slept 😴

India's caste system assigns individuals a certain hierarchical status according to Hindu beliefs. Traditionally, there are four principal castes (divided into many sub-categories) and one category of people who fall outside the caste system—the Dalits. As members of the lowest rank of Indian society, Dalits face discrimination at almost every level: from access to education and medical facilities to restrictions on where they can live and what jobs they can have. The discrimination against the Dalits is especially significant because of the number of people affected; there are approximately 167 million Dalits in India, constituting over 16 percent of the total population.
Within the Dalit community, there are many divisions into sub-castes. Dalits are divided into leather workers, street sweepers, cobblers, agricultural workers, and manual "scavengers". The latter group, considered the lowest of the low and officially estimated at one million, traditionally are responsible for digging village graves, disposing of dead animals, and cleaning human excreta. Approximately three-quarters of the Dalit workforce are in the agricultural sector of the economy. A majority of the country’s forty million people who are bonded laborers are Dalits. These jobs rarely provide enough income for Dalits to feed their families or to send their children to school. As a result, many Dalits are impoverished, uneducated, and illiterate.
Dalits have been oppressed, culturally subjugated, and politically marginalized. The principals of untouchability and “purity and pollution” dictate what Dalits are and are not allowed to do; where they are and are not allowed to live, go, or sit; who they can and cannot give water to, eat with, or marry; extending into the minutia of all aspects of daily life.
Moreover, discrimination for Dalits does not end if they convert from Hinduism to another religion. In India, Islam, Sikhism, and Christianity (among other religions) maintain some form of caste despite the fact that this contradicts their religious precepts. As a result, dominant castes maintain leadership positions while Dalit members of these religions are often marginalized and flagrantly discriminated against. For example, Dalit Christains are provided seperate burial areas from non-Dalit Christains.
The origins of the caste system
The word Dalit—literally translating to “oppressed” or “broken”—is generally used to refer to people who were once known as “untouchables”, those belonging to castes outside the fourfold Hindu Varna system. According to the 2001 census, there are some 167 million Dalits (referred to in the census as “Scheduled Castes”) in India alone, though there are tens of millions in other South Asian countries, as well.
The caste system finds its origin in functional groupings, calledvarnas, which have their origins in the Aryan society of ancient northern India. In their creation myth, four varnas are said to have emanated from the Primeval Being. The Creator’s mouth became the Brahman priests, his two arms formed the Rajanya warriors and kings, his two thighs formed the Vaishya landowners and merchants, and from his feet were born the Shudra artisans and servants. Later, there developed a so-called “fifth” varna: the Untouchables.
This caste system became fixed and hereditary with the emergence of Hinduism and its beliefs of pollution and rebirth. The Laws of Manu (Manusmitri), which date roughly to the 3rd century A.D.—and parts of which form the Sanskrit syllabus of graduation studies in Gujarat even today—preach the sanctity of the varnas and uphold the principles of gradation and rank. They refer to the impurity and servility of the outcastes, while affirming the dominance and total impunity of Brahmins. Those from the “lowest” castes are told that their place in the caste hierarchy is due to their sins in a past life. Vivid punishments of torture and death are assigned for crimes such as gaining literacy or insulting a member of a dominant caste. Among the writings of Hindu religious texts, the Manusmitriis undoubtedly the most authoritative one, legitimizing social exclusion and introducing absolute inequality as the guiding principle of social relations.
Forced exclusion and constant oppression
Today, Dalits make up 16.2% of the total Indian population, but their control over resources of the country is marginal—less than 5%. Close to half of the Dalit population lives under the Poverty Line, and even more (62%) are illiterate. Among the Dalits, most of those engaged in agricultural work are landless or nearly landless agricultural laborers. The average household income for Dalits was of Rs. 17,465 in 1998, just 68% of the national average. Less than 10% of Dalit households can afford safe drinking water, electricity and toilets, which is indicative of their deplorable social condition. Moreover, Dalits are daily victims of the worst crimes and atrocities, far outnumbering other sections of society in that respect as well. The vast majority of these crimes remain unreported due to omnipresent fear, and those that are reported are often ignored by police or end up languishing in the backlogged court system. Between 1992 and 2000, a total of 334,459 cases were registered nation wide with the police as cognisable crimes against SCs.
More than 60 years after gaining Independence, India is still very much afflicted by the cancer of the caste system. Dalits remain the most vulnerable, marginalized and brutalised community in the country.
Dalits in Gujarat
If compared to states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh or West Bengal where Dalits constitute more than 20 per cent of the population, Gujarat counts a fairly low proportion of Dalits.According to the 2001 Census, there are approximately 3.6 million members of Scheduled Castes in Gujarat, which represents 7.1% of the state’s total population. This relatively low figure is, however, inversely indicative of their miserable condition. More than 80 per cent of the Dalits in Gujarat are daily labourers, the majority of which are in the agricultural sector. Half of the SC population is landless or owns less than one acre of land, which forces them to work on dominant castes’ land in order to survive.
Because of this dependence and the quasi-inexistence of labour welfare in Gujarat, Dalits are subject to immense pressure and utter discrimination. Atrocities committed against them are a daily reality, with more than 4,000 cases reported in the span of 3 years in just 14 districts. Manual scavenging is still very much prevalent also, the State’s institutions in Gujarat themselves employing Dalits to clean dry latrines. For a State that likes to depict itself as a modern and thriving region in India, Gujarat is still a far cry away from ensuring social justice to all of its citizens. In reality, Gujarat has a poor human rights record and must extend and focus its attention to its minorities if it is to be worthy of the kind of image it likes to give itself.
The government of Gujarat has implemented certain policies designed to uplift those belonging to the Scheduled Castes into higher positions. The most prominent is the reservation system, where certain seats in the government are set aside only for Dalits. In Gujarat, 7% of seats in the government and education sectors are reserved for Dalits (as opposed to 14% set aside on the national level). This amounts to 2 of the 26 Members of Parliament (MP) and 13 of the 182 Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLA) currently held by members of the SC. There are also established reservation systems in place at the district, block, and village levels throughout the state.
Even with this promise of upliftment through reservation, Dalits continue to be discriminated against throughout Gujarat. The number of atrocity cases against Dalits and the practice of untouchability continue to occur at alarming rates throughout the state, especially when compared to other Indian states.
Dalits in other South Asian Countries
India’s caste system finds corollaries in other parts of the sub-continent, including Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Indeed, as Hinduism spread from northern India to the southern part of the peninsula establishing itself as the dominant religion by the pre-Christian era, so spread the caste system and its ideology justifying the superior standing of the system’s aristocracy. Caste even migrated with the South Asian diaspora to firmly take root in East and South Africa, Mauritius, Fiji, Suriname, the Middle East, Malaysia, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, and North America. Nevertheless, Asia remains the continent with the largest share of Dalits. There are today in Asia well over 200 million men, women and children enduring near complete social ostracism on the grounds of their descent.
In both Bangladesh and Nepal, the types of discrimination faced by Dalits are very similar to those existing in India. Notions of purity and pollution are prevalent within society, social restrictions, and discrimination in access to public places or jobs are therefore commonplace. Nepal’s situation is noteworthy as not even a fringe of the 4.5 million Dalits (over 20% of the Nepalese population) has been able to significantly emancipate itself. With no affirmative action measures, there are practically no Dalits in Nepal’s legislative assemblies. The literacy rate of Nepalese Dalits is only around 10%, while that of Nepalese Dalit women is even lower. Over 80% of Nepal’s Dalits find themselves below the official poverty line; their life expectancy is not higher than 50 years.
In Pakistan, as well as in Sri Lanka (except Tamil regions), the caste system is somewhat less rigid in the sense that it does not hold any ritual pollution concepts. However, features such as social distance and restricted access to land are still very much a reality. Moreover, the Swat region in northern Pakistan also practices extreme forms of humiliation against Dalits, and especially Dalit women.

I swear to the gods, I try so hard not to lump christains all into one group and hate them all for their religion. But I am so fucking done with THOSE christains. I made a tiktok to the audio "are you there god it's me fiona" and it was labeled something like "me during my childhood cause i was about to be s/a'd"
And a bunch of christains fucking invaded the comment section saying shit like "everything happens for a reason" "it was gods plan" "you're going to hell for straying from him" "he will reward you in the end" like 1) NOT THE TIME??? and 2) what the fuck. What reason is good enough??? What possible plan could he have???
And like, it's not that I don't believe in God either. I believe he exists, I just really hate how he's supposedly "all powerful" and "all knowing" and "loves everyone" and then let shit like that happen. Because Hades and Athena (who I didn't even believe in at the time, let alone pray to) did more for me than God did. Hades sent dogs my way when I was having a bad day, Athena guided me towards books I enjoyed and get lost in the fantasy worlds, Hades helped me find comfort in all the death around me, Athena showed me how to create things and get lost in the work, and God did nothing. I prayed to him and really believed in him for YEARS and he did nothing. Despite being "all powerful"
I ended up deleting most of the comments and blocking the user but for fucks sake. And then half of them tried to convert me too, saying shit like "if you pray to him again he will guide you" and other bullshit like that.
I am just,,,so done.
