i'm working on a much longer hc post right now but an unrelated thought popped into my head: i've stated before that cassidy has near perfected his knot tying as a teen. a seemingly odd or random skill, but it's something he used often around the farm. while it sprouted out of necessity, he found it INTERESTING that there were so many different ways to achieve the same goal. he remembers them all to this day, still utilizes them often in his travels, and has even expanded on his knowledge throughout the years. ( do with that information as you will. ) another skill he was known around town for as a teen was his horseback riding. cassidy was three years old his first time on a horse — accompanied, of course, by his father. but ever since then it was hard to keep him away from the stables. there was an american paint horse left to the farm that he'd grow rather fond of — simply named LADY, she was the only animal he made sure to transfer when he moved to texas. lady was a great ranch horse, but she was also built for speed. you could often find the pair in town, hustling for a buck or two with petty bets on amateur races. however, put all these things together ? one thing cassidy could never get the hang of was lassoing, or roping. ESPECIALLY while on a horse. he was HORRIBLE at it growing up, and he can't rightfully say he's gotten any better at it in his later years.

Cassidy felt at ease with Colton. He didn't expect shit from her, which meant she didn't have to put on any airs while they conversed. It didn't matter in the slightest what she did for work - they were just two people having a pleasant conversation. And that was pretty damn nice. "Is bartending school even a thing? You should trademark that shit if it isn't and make yourself rich off it. I'm sure tons of people would love to know how to make drinks properly," she replied with a little laugh to match his. "That definitely counts. How'd you learn how to do that?" Cass propped her chin in the palms of her hands, completely transfixed by Colt. Even her drink sat forgotten, at least for the time being.

In Defense of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated

Am I the only one that enjoyed this series? The animation was good. The story line was good. Sure it got dark quick but it was the first series to try that formula. It was amazing it even touched on the gang’s families. That was also a first in the series. It was different to see that the gang’s families didn’t approve of their mystery solving (minus Angie later on for reasons).

Yes this series was dark but it did so many new things. It tore the gang apart at the last part of season 1. Instead of throwing them together again and pretending that they are okay; it takes a while for the gang to really become a team again.

I love this series for different reasons. It wasn’t afraid to get real. And it was Casey Kasem’s last performance with the Scooby gang. Honestly he went out with a bang with this series. Other people might disagree but I have a lot of good points here. Just one more before I finish.

This series was the last Scooby Doo series that my Mom and I watched together. I miss her so. Because of her, I was able to get into Scooby Doo. It is because of her I wrote this post. Top of the world Mom. I miss you so much. Especially today.
