My most recent dnd character, Treasure! She’s a magpie-flavored corvum artificer from the humblewood homebrew, from a campaign run by @jojostory. I wanted really badly for her to be a cool kind of auntie character but the dice absolutely did not let me do anything approaching cool so she ended up just being an incompetent auntie character, which I think is actually very accurate for a bird 😂

One of the NPCs in the Humblewod Campaign I’m running.
Her name is Teeko, and she volunteers at the Winnowing Reach Bookbindery.

dnd hack for echolalia folks: play a kenku (or corvum if using the humblefolk book) and just have your character canonically only be able to speak in things they've already heard. husband is my dm and he let me make it so i can use vines, song lyrics, and occasionally movie/TV references in addition to things other players say (playing a bard). im having the time of my life not having to think of original dialogue and ive gotten everyone in the group to laugh at least twice already.

Back in 2019 I started my first D&D campaign as a DM, using the Humblewood play module, and one of my players (@pennpenguinshy) requested I designed their character. This is Poppy Moonweaver, the druid corvum.

oh shit I haven't posted about my dnd character beyond tags in my last reblog
(Left Picrew, Right Picrew)
this is Nim Treziro, my Swashbuckler Corvum (genderfluid, he/it)
I'm aware the Picrews don't make him crow-like. he will actually be a crow when the campaign starts, I just can't find any character makers that let me do that beyond HeroForge (and he doesn't look right in that...). if anyone finds one, let me know please!
as for backstory, I kind of have one? I assume it'll be more developed once the campaign starts:
"Nim wanted more trinkets and shiny objects (because crow), so he travelled around various worlds to find and collect them. eventually, its ship crashes on land, so Nim wanders into Neverwinter, and eventually finds the rest of the party. queue the campaign!
he's mostly "trinket motivated," as in it'll take potential risks if it means getting another trinket in their inventory. beyond that, Nim is very curious, yet loyal to the party"
...yeah, kind of a self insert, but isn't that kind of the point of DND? anyway, I will try to post more about him once the campaign starts and/or I have more lore

I feel that it’s important we consider all dimensions—
Birthday gift for my partner! His eventual dnd character Lamont, a mapach (raccoonfolk) arcane trickster rogue, alongside his old posse known as the Modest Folk. Behind him are Winter Chill the tabaxi swashbuckler, and Willehelm the wizard (i haven’t yet decided if he’ll be a kenku, or an aarakocra, or the corvum from humblewood...).
These three are a group of three trickster thieves who were just trying to achieve their dreams together, until a job went very, very wrong and they had to separate...

'I lived, bitch!'
The party patched Jayson up after his 'mother's' failed assassination attempt, then hunted her down in her own sanctum. I'd been waiting almost a year out of game to be able to say that line to her ;)
She's quite dead now :)
