if you knit or crochet you need to know math. "oh, because you have to count the stitches?" you'd think so wouldn't you. well it's actually because sometimes the yarn gets so messed up you can't untangle it without becoming an expert in the field of topology
Well, fellas, you did it again. And by "it," we mean utterly surpassed our wildest dreams for what polls could be. Like, shot-past-the-target-onto-the-moon-then-past-the-moon-and-now-orbiting-some-cosmic-bug-head-planet-somewhere kind of surpassed. Here's a round up of some of the fun folks have been having around crankyteapot's inaugural poll meme.
Some more advice for fellow adults: set your ego aside and let younger people (even kids!) educate and teach you. There is no shame in looking to a younger person for education and knowledge. It is, actually, a big facet of humanity that we teach each other - why, then, does that teacher need to be the Right Age in order for you to be willing to learn from them?
Hi everyone! Sorry for the absence of posts on this blog again 😅 I was laid off mid-Feb and all of my brain space has been reserved for refreshing my skills and job-searching, but hopefully I'll be back to work soon and then I can queue up some more posts here! (It takes me hours... I also need to find a better way to do that...)
ANYWAY
I wanted to make this post about a Kickstarter that I am incredibly excited about!!!
These Safety Eye Snappers that can be used to easily add safety eyes to your amigurumi without all the hand and finger pain!!!
As a chronic pain girlie myself, I started following this product the second I heard about it's existence lol
The kickstarter just went up so I wanted to mention it here for anyone who might be interested!
If you've never used Kickstarter before, please make sure you're informed about how it works! Research to your heart's content to make sure you're comfortable. The gist is that projects are all-or-nothing based on whether they reach their funding goal, so if you back a project that doesn't end up reaching it's goal, you don't receive any rewards you pledged for, but you also aren't charged anything.
As of writing this post, though, this Kickstarter looks to be fully funded!!!!
Note: I am not at all affiliated with this product or the team behind it, they have no idea of my existence, and I get nothing from any pledges anyone makes. I have not tried the product in-person myself at all. They don't know I exist. I'm just a girl who's incredibly excited about the existence of this product. Like I kinda wanted to cry when I found out about this because getting safety eyes on amigurumi is so hard and hurts so much :')
Here's the Kickstarter link again if you're interested, and I hope to get back to posting crochet patterns here soon! Hope you all are doing well! 💕💕💕🧶
I've recently started to learn how to crochet! As with all my creative endeavors, it seems, the first test was to make an Eeveelution! Well, after making an Eevee, I wanted to try something new... An Eeveelution fusion! For anyone looking for cute art and cuter fusions, I can't recommend @weekly-eons enough. This lil guy is based off their Sylveon/Umbreon fushion!
The body is based off ETM Studio's Crochet Mini Cat Loaf. The ears and tail are based off Amigu World's Amigurumi Eevee: Parts 1 and 3.
FOREWARNING FOR GROSS-OUT SKIN CLOSEUP SHIT DON'T YELL AT ME FOR SHOWING YOU has anyone else gotten this really weird phenomenon on youtube. I swear every algorithm on every website is actively and purposely worse now. Where you'll be scrolling through vids after searching for something (I was looking at crochet stuff) and SANDWICHED IN THE MIDDLE OF ACTUAL SEARCH RESULTS... YOU KNOW. LIKE THINGS RELEVANT TO THE KEYWORDS I TYPED
are a couple of completely out of left field SHOCK VALUE VIDS. like to intentionally be alarming. drama vids and things you're enticed to click on bc they're upsetting, and deep deep closeups on zits. what the fuck is going on. Sandwiched between videos about GRANNY SQUARES. crack? is it crack we're smoking????
[Id: two Fotos of a crocheted collar pinned on a dress mannequin. It is dark purple, the neck part is filet crochet while the part that hangs down is five eye shaped windows and skull lace. End id]
i made a collar!!! Inspired by lunar still on ravelry/Instagram. Please tag with your preferred format of pattern if you're interested!
I was recently gifted this cute little frog friend!! (^_^) <3 He has wire in his limbs so he's poseable. I made the little sweater for him with some pretty multi-coloured, earth-toned yarn.
I also made one last row for my greyscale blanket. I recently figured out the ghost and eye squares, so I wanted to include them in it.
The third thing I made is a little travel sewing kit. It's about the size of a deck of cards (though much lighter) and has a pocket (for small pools of thread) and two fastened straps inside (for needles and pins). I also used a couple small corks as substitutes for thread spools.
