Today I wanted to share this CNN clip for Americans. You probably heard about the Democrat primaries in Michigan - 100k voters turned out and cast their ballots “Uncommitted” rather than choose the binary of Red v. Blue. If you’ve been paying attention, you know that Americans have been hounding all of the DNC powers ceaselessly. If you’ve been attention, you also know that Biden has had so many opportunities to end the Genocide in Palestine. You also know that Biden dangles the carrot (while eating ice cream) and then removes it (after that MI primary).
It’s important to reframe the binary vote; Biden isn’t going to “defeat” Trump, and Trump isn’t going to “win” - Biden is holding our hopes for a better future hostage. DNC should be courting our vote, not withholding peace for it.
Wisconsin voters are apparently turning out in similar numbers to utilize their voter power, “Uncommitted”. They need to see that we’re paying attention to the difference between their (empty) words and their (in)actions.
I hope this video and my words help give you the confidence to challenge people in your life who are bogged down in helplessness. I hope that you follow Mehdi on social media - if you aren’t already.
Don’t forget to click your Arab.org links, and talk to someone today about Palestine.
“Hope is not so much a comfort, as a necessary requirement.”

Won't the democratic party go with Biden no matter what? Isn't that what they did with Hilary and Bernie?
Here's an article explaining what happened with Bernie's campaign.
I highly recommend everyone read it in full since it's going to be way more nuanced than anything I could come up with as a summary explanation.
But before he fell, the democrats in power were absolutely scared shitless of Bernie winning the primary. So much that they were prepared to shift rules just in case he got the majority vote anyway [X].
The problem is very nuanced, but it seems like the core issue is that the people yelling about him online didn't show up the same way at the polls. This could be a result of so many things, gerrymandering being a major issue for voters of color especially, but the most consistent thing when it comes to elections for Gen Y and Z is that waxing about progress online and taking no action in real life doesn't lead to success.
Your parents and grandparents and shitty racist uncles and aunts and cousins are going to the polls. Are you?

Looks Like Trump v Biden - 03/13/2024
Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden secured their presidential primary nominations yesterday. Trump surpassed the 1,215 needed delegates with 1,249. Although it appears that Biden's in, I find it hard to believe that he'll stay in past the Democratic National Convention this August in Chicago. Like I said before, I'm split on whether Biden will stay or drop, and it's going to be interesting to see what happens. This is a crazy political cycle we're in. With all the unprecedented occurrences, it's really hard to know for sure how everything will pan out. Donald Trump became the first former president to ever be indicted, and he was four times. Like he said, he's been indicted more than Alphonse Capone, who was indicted twice. In my opinion, Trump did nothing illegal or wrong, it's really political persecution. New York changed their laws so that the statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault has been extended to last almost indefinitely. That allowed that psycho lady, E. Jean Carroll, to go after Trump. First, she got $5 million for sexual assault, which differs from rape in that it involves groping, not vaginal penetration. He was found not guilty of rape by the preponderance of evidence. More recently he was fined $85 million for defamation wherein he simply stated that he doesn't know her and doesn't even remember meeting her; ridiculous! Then there was the FBI raid on his Maro Lago home for classified documents, way over-the-top. He was president at the time and was legally allowed to have them. He kept them in a secure location that's guarded by Secret Service personnel. Joe Biden took classified documents from when he was senator which he was not allowed to do, illegal, and kept them in at least 7 different, unsecured locations while he was a private citizen. Yet Trump gets indicted, and Biden gets a pass, it's absurdly ridiculous! The truth of all this is coming out and a lot of people are becoming more aware of it. By the time this November 5th comes around, if Biden is still in, there's no way he can win in a free and fair election. Of course, the democrats are going to cheat, they always have, but I don't think they'll be able to as much as they did in 2020, and probably not enough to overcome the huge Sunami of Trump votes. I could be wrong, of course, but I sure hope not. The survival of our country and of many other countries throughout the world I believe are at stake.

It's Primary Season
And that means the opportunity to vote Biden out. If you are in one of the states that allows ballot access for her, which you can find here as well as the dates, I implore you to vote for Marianne Williamson in your state's democratic primary election.
"We can stop this now. Have a ceasefire now. (...) There never was a military solution. (...) It's more than a humanitarian pause. Let's stop this." -Marianne Williamson on Israel and Palestine
However, I also want you to know who and what you're voting for. You can find her stances on various issues all listed on her website, organized by issue so you can easily look into what's most important to you.
It's a long shot, but this is what we can do to reject Biden's complicity in genocide. Please, do your part.
From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!
Edit: Unfortunately, on Feb 7th, Williamson has dropped out of the race. However, she is still on most ballots. Another option if she is not on your ballot is Dean Phillips. His stance on Israel and Palestine are iffy, but he has criticized Biden's approach and seems mostly on-board with a ceasefire.
This is also a good time to say I fully support Green candidate Jill Stein, as she is vocally anti-genocide, as well as pro-worker and climate action.

Someone come have angry anxious frustration with me about the Biden campaigners being quoted in this cast.
(Not the reporters themselves, they're fine.)
I cannot emphasize how important it is to call your reps.
Threaten not to vote. Remind them that every Uncommitted vote in Michigan is another seat that may not vote at all. Trump does not need people to vote for him so long as they don't vote, especially in Michigan.
This is the swing state of this election.
Leverage Michigan, leverage Bushnell, leverage everything you can.
Leverage that Netanyahu has directly credited US support for Israel's ability to continue massacre Gazans.
Do not let them brush this under the rug.

So as we're heading into the American primaries, now is a super good time to see if you're registered to vote. Remember: even if you've been registered in the past, it's possible you've been removed from the registry without being notified. Go check.
Also, now's a really good time to put into your calendar when the relevant dates are for voting. If you plan on voting for election day, this link lists when that is in your state.
Note that voter ID laws may have changed since last time you voted. This map by ballotpedia shows the requirements by state. These rules may be different in the event that you are showing up to register and vote at the same time.
Tumblr media
If you're unhappy with all of the options, remember that voting is not the only form of civic engagement you can engage in - getting engaged in your local community is still very much an option that is on the table and is effective. Voting and community organizing are not mutually exclusive acts. While the presidential race is the most prominent it is not the only race that's happening, and that local races that will affect your life far more directly are also on the ballot. Go vote.

hey y'all, that guy who reminded y'all about the primaries back in like november back with another one! I didn't actually know the primaries vary in date from state to state, so keep that in mind!! south carolina just had theirs today, I hope their turnout was good and we'll see some different than new hampshire results. next up is nevada on the 6th (feb), then michigan on the 27th (feb).
march 5th is still the big bulk of the states, including the one I'm in, but if you're not voting on super tuesday, still keep an eye out! you're voting in the next coming few weeks or months!! look up when your state's voting in the primaries, and make sure you're registered with your current address, especially if you moved recently (this one got me last time), just turned 18, or will be turning 18 by the time of your primary!!!
make your voices heard everybody!!!! let's not put another genocidal maniac into power if we still have a say in things!!!!

Across Maryland at farmers’ markets, mosques, and through phone calls, dozens of activists are encouraging opponents of Israel’s assault on Gaza, which has resulted in over 33,000 Palestinian deaths, to vote for “Uncommitted” in the state’s May 14 primary election.
Hena Zuberi, a leader of the Listen to Maryland coalition which is spearheading the movement, told the Baltimore Beat, “By selecting ‘uncommitted’ on the ballot, we are protesting to inform President Biden that we do not support his funding of war and genocide,” said the Howard County resident and mother of four.
The “Uncommitted” movement in Maryland views voting as a key tactic to push for a ceasefire. It is supported by Jewish Voice for Peace Action (the 501(c)(4) sister organization of Jewish Voice for Peace), chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America, and others.
There’s no apparent end in sight to the conflict that’s entered its sixth month. It has destroyed much of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure and internally displaced hundreds of thousands of Gazans.
As Biden has won resounding victories in the primaries, over half a million people, or about one in ten Democrats, have chosen “uncommitted,” “uninstructed,” or “no preference” in primaries across states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut (as of April 5). Supporters argue this is the reason some Democrats — such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and some senators — who had previously opposed ceasefire have recently changed their position.

To my American followers or any American on Tumblr that are sick of Biden and are looking for other candidates to vote for in the primaries
A debate in New Hampshire took place yesterday between candidates Marianne Williamson and Dean Phillips its worth the watch please give it a listen and hear them out
Both Biden, the DNC and mainstream media are trying to blacklist them and deny them a fair shot in the primaries by not doing public debates, rigging the primary schedule in Biden's favour, smearing the other candidates and now to the point of cancelling primaries and only having Biden as the choice in some states like Florida and North Carolina denying voters a say in who they want to choose kinda hypocritical with Biden's "Democracy is at Risk" shtick so small debates like this one will really help get the word out that Americans have other options in the Democratic primary despite what the DNC is trying to force on voters with Biden
Anyways signal boost this, reblog and give it a watch the debate video is in 2 parts on Marianne's page and start around the 23 minute mark in the first video 😊😊

The republicans wanting Project 2025 and the democrats not actually helping people can and do coexist
Vote Cornel West, you can replace the parties in the two-party system if one falls out of public favour
"Spoiler effect" doesn't mean "these two parties must be the permanent power structure," you can fucking replace them with better parties that will fix the voting system
