Who Is Allison Moore?: A Disney's Wish Mystery
OK, this is a little off the rails and random but this has been driving me crazy since I looked into it last night.
So, Disney's 100th Anniversary movie Wish is coming out soon and people have had a lot of hot takes about it so I wanted to do some digging. As part of that, I looked at the writers and two people have a "Screenplay by" credit: Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore.
Jennifer Lee, of course, wrote Frozen--their biggest princess hit in the modern era so that makes total sense to me. If you're coming out with a new princess movie for the big centennial of course you'd tap her. But I'd never heard of Allison, and when you look at her name on Wikipedia:
Tumblr media
No blue link. So I headed to IMDB to check out her credits, figuring maybe she was some hot new talent recently promoted from within who did storyboards on some recent projects like Moana or something. But when I went to her IMDB page, this is what I found (after a brief mix-up with a Dexter's Lab actress):
Tumblr media
Her Producer credits come up first and...huh. That's a lot of adult live action TV projects. Well, maybe her Writing credits are where this starts to make sense:
Tumblr media
What? That can't be right, can it? The only vaguely Disney-esque thing on that credit list is Beauty and the Beast and, to be clear, that is a CW reboot of a 1987 procedural with the logline, "A beautiful detective falls in love with an ex-soldier who goes into hiding from the secret government organization that turned him into a mechanically charged beast." And she wrote two episodes on it.
And look at Disney's official page about Wish!
Tumblr media
Everyone else on this page has credits that make sense--Frozen, Frozen 2, Raya, Encanto. And the two credits they list for Allison?
Night Sky and Manhunt.
Night Sky, an Amazon Prime show that she wrote one episode for and was cancelled after one season. And Manhunt--and show about hunting the UNABOMBER--that ran for two seasons and that she wrote two episodes for. Those are her two credits that they put up there next to Frozen and Encanto.
I have been scouring the internet trying to figure out who this woman is and how she got this job and I have come up *empty*. This is the big 100th anniversary movie! Why would they have one of the two screenplay writers be someone who seemingly has never done something like this before??? Like, I understand that not having done something before doesn't mean you can't do a good job, but it usually means you don't get the keys to the biggest most anticipated projects in the company's history!
They presumably could have gotten anyone they wanted for this and they picked this person and I have zero clue why and it's driving me crazy. If anyone has ANY information that could illuminate this at ALL--an interview, a social media post, gossip from your cousin who's a gofer at Disney--please let me know because I feel like I'm going full Pepe Silvia over this.
12/26 Edit: A SMALL UPDATE IS HERE!

So what if the “No metas in Gotham” thing scared Danny Fenton away from Gotham City?
What if Danny gets a grant or scholarship at Central City University?
What if Danny gets an internship job as an assistant Forensic Scientist at the Central City Police Department?
Ok so hear me out:
The Rouges in Central City are much more chill and jokey than most superhero protected cities and have a good relationship with The Flash and would remind Danny of Amnity in that sense.
Danny’s entire obsession with protection and also a likely mentality of “Police and law enforcement have been horrible to me in the past so I will do everything I can to make sure what happens to me happens to no one else” would make him strive to be an honest protector of the people. He could be a cop and Barry Allen works with him because he knows that Danny isn’t corrupt. A reverse Batman and Jim Gordon if you will. He could also be a Forensic Scientist that recently joined CCPD and Barry Allen is assigned to be his mentor to show him the ropes. Either way The Flash grows to respect and care for this really strange kid who’s eyes sometimes look green as a trick of the light.
Danny using his powers to help solve murders, crimes, and ghostly shenanigans in Central City by talking to the local paranormal entities and recently deceased and pretending that he just is really really good at his job (well he is, but he has a bit of ghostly help.)
The Flash and Kid Flash notice this strange white haired meta zipping around and go to meet him and find out that he’s roughly Wally’s age. The speed force feels a bit strange around this kid, Like he’s been a part of multiple time altering changes. He doesn’t seem malicious though and the kid is really funny so Barry is going to let this ghostly meta do his own thing.
Phantom and The Flash start teaming up. Having an extra person in a battle is always nice. The Flash also notices that this Phantom kid is always DELIGHTED to fight Captain Cold. What The Flash expected to be a long battle that would end in almost frostbite and a long night with little to no sleep ended up being a five minute excursion. The Phantom reveling in the low temperatures and freezing Captain Cold’s cold gun and feet with a more crystalline and shinier type of ice. Instantly ending the battle.
Phantom fights Abra Kadabra and loudly complains to Abra while fighting how stupid Abra’s gimmick is and that it doesn’t look like real magic.
Phantom helps dismantle Weather Wizards plan to blot out the sun by simply turning the giant storm clouds that the Wizard summoned into snow.
The Flash is completely dumbfounded when the Reverse Flash shows up at his work, taunts Barry Allen, when Phantom comes out of nowhere, possesses The Reverse Flash, who then asks the location of the nearest containment facility that’ll house a speedster. Danny/Reverse Flash proceeds to run himself to the location, lock himself in, and exit Thawne’s body. The amount of awe Barry feels can’t even be put to words. Barry Allen’s arch nemesis. Defeated by a ghostly kid who has bi weekly hangouts with his nephew to binge watch D-list horror movies. What the fuck.
Danny has a great relationship with Barry. The two quickly bond over being quippy and aren’t annoyed when the other is consistently late to every possible meet up. Danny is incredibly dexterous and knows his way around the lab and Barry is happy to chat with someone who happily will talk back and ramble on about their life and has a genuine want to help others.
If Barry asks Batman on tips with how to take care of an overworked and constantly exhausted kid that’s between him and the Bat.
Barry mentally adopts this strange coworker and if he spotted the kid behind the CCPD building turning into Phantom? That’s none of his business and for Danny to reveal to him on his own time.

Spoiled Rotten
Miguel O'Hara x GN S/O
AN: The results of the poll are in, the people have spoken, and I am here to deliver as promised. Enjoy!
Word Count: 2,545
Tumblr media
You trotted down the impersonal halls of the Spider Society HQ, the styrofoam container that you had in your hands held close to your chest in order to avoid upending the contents if anyone had the misfortune of running into you as you dexterously weaved through the throng of spider-people filling the building.
You nodded a quick greeting at any of the other spider-people that happened to make eye contact with you as you passed, the crowd predictably thinning out until it was only you creeping through the halls the closer you came to your destination.
You slowed your hurried pace when a familiar door came into view, the obstruction opening with a low hiss without you even having to touch the keypad located next to the door frame since Miguel had demanded that you hand over your dimensional travel watch so he could add an upgrade, an ID that the camera above the entrance to his office could scan and recognize so you would be allowed entry with little to no effort.
And, as far as you knew, you were the only person to receive this particular upgrade.
The room beyond the door was dimly lit, the lighting unnervingly akin to what you’d see in a horror movie, and you cracked a smile at the thought of Miguel keeping his lab and adjoining office dark in an attempt to scare off any spider-people that might’ve been brave enough to grace his presence. Though, even as humorous as the thought was, you knew that the true reason behind Miguel’s lighting choices was due to his sensitive eyes.
You heard the door slide shut behind you as you moved further in, carefully maneuvering through the mess of wires and half-finished projects with a grace that pretty much all spider-people were endowed with upon being bitten in order to reach the office, where Miguel spent his every waking moment, seemingly intent on working himself into an early grave.
You followed the sound of low muttering, the indistinct noise becoming more intelligible when you stepped into the large space that everyone had dubbed ‘the office’. There you were able to confirm that the hushed voice you had picked up on was, in fact, Miguel, who was currently complaining under his breath in his native tongue as he aggressively swiped at the holographic screens in front of him.
You stopped at the base of the platform that Miguel used as a workstation and patiently waited to see if he would notice your presence, but when it seemed that the man was too absorbed in his work to realize that you were there, you let loose a single sharp whistle that echoed off the high ceiling to gain his attention.
You had to resist the urge to grin when you saw Miguel’s broad shoulders subtly draw up at the abrupt burst of sound, which was as good as a full-blown flinch when it came to Miguel, before the man turned away from the hovering screens in order to level you with an unimpressed look.
"What do you want?" Miguel barked and you raised a brow at his rather hostile greeting, your gaze scanning over his tense figure in search of the reason behind why he was so uptight. After just a few seconds into your examination, it became pretty clear that something was bothering the man, as evidenced by Miguel’s hands, which were balled up into tight fists, and how his narrow eyes looked more red than their usual brown under the low light of the room.
"Just wanted to check in. Things have been pretty hectic these past few days." You replied with a casual shrug and you watched Miguel’s shoulders heave with a deep sigh before he carelessly raked his fingers through his greasy hair, causing it to stand up at all sorts of awkward angles.
"I don’t need you to ‘check in’ with me." He snarled defensively, crossing his arms across his chest as he glared down at you, and your lips twisted into a concerned frown at his disheveled state.
“So… you're telling me that you've voluntarily stepped away from those screens in the last 24 hours to take a break and eat something?" You asked dubiously, already knowing the answer was a resounding 'no' before he’d even responded just going by his general appearance.
"I don't need breaks! I work just fine on little to no sleep, thank you very much!" Miguel predictably snapped, the man scowling at you as if he thought that you were an absolute idiot, but you didn’t even bother taking offense to his attitude since you knew that he had a tendency of lashing out when he was frustrated due to his lack of a healthy outlet.
“Well that's a damn shame. I guess these homemade chorizo tacos are just gonna go to waste if you're not gonna eat them." You sighed dramatically, staring forlornly down at the styrofoam container that you had so heroically protected during the journey to Miguel, the food inside still warm if the heat wafting off the take out box was any indication.
You resisted the urge to grin triumphantly when some of the aggression in Miguel’s expression and stance eased at the mention of a warm meal, the man’s eyebrows rising as his gaze shifted down to stare unblinkingly at the container that you had purposefully drawn his attention to.
"You made me food?" He asked slowly as he stepped closer to the edge of the platform, and you found the way that he was trying and failing to hide his obvious interest kind of adorable. Almost like Miguel was a toddler who was trying and failing to stay upset even after having been offered their favorite candy.
"Fine. I'll eat. But I'm going back to work as soon as I’m done and you are going to go do something productive that doesn’t involve pestering me.” Miguel begrudgingly acquiesced, the smile that you’d been trying to repress blooming across your face when the man motioned for you to join him on the platform, and you wasted no time freeing up a hand in order to shoot a web at one of the beams running across the entirety of ceiling before launching yourself up into the air, landing gracefully next to him.
"Of course." You agreed quickly, practically shoving the food into his hands before grabbing a hold of his narrow hips and manhandling the man toward his barely used swivel chair and forcing Miguel down onto the plush leather seat.
Miguel went along with your antics easily enough -and if that wasn’t indisputable proof of how utterly exhausted he felt, then you didn’t know what was- the man deciding to forgo giving you a firm scolding that would go in one ear and out the other in favor of opening the lid in order to let the delicious scent of avocado crema and spicy paprika wash over the two of you.
You closed your eyes and inhaled, the corner of your mouth ticking up as you nodded approvingly at the mouth-watering tacos, the crisp corn tortillas stuffed with a combination of meat, guacamole, onions and cilantro. You were actually quite proud of the end result after having spent several hours in the headquarters kitchen slaving away over the stove.
You looked out of the corner of your eye in order to gauge Miguel’s reaction, taking note of the way his eyes widened at the enticing aroma before he turned his incredulous stare onto you.
"You made these yourself?" He asked, his tone a little more dubious than you would've liked. You didn’t cook all that often -usually opting to go for something easier like take out or grabbing something from the cafeteria at HQ if Miguel wasn’t cooking- but when you did decide to take over making the two of you meals, then you put all your effort into making it good.
"Sure did. Only the best for you, babe." You said with a bright smile, watching in real time as Miguel’s cautious expression gradually transitioned into one of pure delight, before moving around to the back of his chair in order to take up residence behind him.
You brought your hands up to rest them on the tight line of his shoulders, carefully pressing your thumbs into the thick muscle in order to soothe the tension built up there, and Miguel relaxed under your touch as he delicately picked up one of the tacos before taking a bite.
"I was just going to work through lunch, but this is so much better…" Miguel praised after he’d swallowed, the man letting loose a pleased little hum with his next bite as he slumped further down into his chair, the styrofoam container held firmly in his lap as he ate.
"I'm glad you like it." You replied genuinely, lifting one of your hands away from Miguel's shoulders -the man protesting with a low grunt of displeasure- in order to trace the line of Miguel's jaw as you shifted your focus to the man's back, urging him to scoot forward to the edge of his chair before pressing your thumbs into the space between his shoulder blades with firm, unrelenting pressure.
You felt a shiver ripple down Miguel’s spine, the man subtly squirming in his seat as he resisted the urge to pull away from the deep ache, before calming when the taunt muscles in his back loosened, the pain turning into an indulgent pleasure.
“Feel nice?” You asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the peaceful atmosphere that you had taken care to develop in the office, and Miguel made a noise that you chose to interpret as lazy agreement.
You moved your hands away from his back as Miguel popped the last bit of his final taco into his mouth and leaned forward, the man turning his head in order to give you a questioning look, his brown eyes widening in surprise when you leaned over his shoulder and pressed a light kiss onto his bulging cheek.
His throat made an audible click as he quickly swallowed, the man closing the now empty container and tossing it aside to deal with later before spinning his swivel chair around to face you, catching your wrist as you turned to leave.
“Where are you going?” Miguel asked accusingly as he used his gentle grip to coax you closer, pulling you in until you were standing between his spread thighs, a small smile gracing your lips at his sudden clingy behavior, which was endearing and amusing in equal measure.
“You’re done eating.” You explained vaguely, and when Miguel simply gave you a blank look, you continued with a soft sigh. “You said that you wanted me to make myself scarce once you’d finished your food?” You elaborated with a raised brow, Miguel frowning at the reminder of his earlier demands, the regret and frustration that he was feeling practically advertised across his face like a flashing neon sign.
“You can stay. If you want.” Miguel quickly tacked the last bit on to the end of the sentence, releasing his hold on your wrist, and you were barely able to hold back from rolling your eyes at his unnecessary backtracking.
"Oh, so the bossman is feeling gracious today. Aren't I special?" You mused sarcastically as you threw your arms over the man’s wide shoulders and playfully tangled your fingers into the thick hair at the nape of his neck, the affectionate petting doing wonders toward chasing away Miguel’s uncertainty.
“Brat.” Miguel groused under his breath without any real heat, both of you knowing damn well that you would pick up on his muttered complaint because of your enhanced hearing, and you swatted the back of his head hard enough to make the man wince in retaliation.
You allowed him to pout for a moment before grabbing a firm hold of the hair that you had been previously brushing through and pulling him into a passionate kiss, Miguel immediately matching the pace you set and pressing up into the contact with an eager groan that you echoed when your bottom lip caught on one of his protruding fangs, a sharp sting radiating outward from the small cut as the delicate skin split.
“Ouch.” You said mildly as the familiar coppery tang of blood hit your tongue, and you drew away from Miguel just enough to lightly press a finger to the injury, the pad of your prodding finger coming away wet.
“Sorry.” Miguel apologized with a concerned frown as he guided you backwards so he that could push himself to his feet and approach his workstation in order to open one of the numerous drawers and root around inside, pulling out a package of gauze that he ripped open and placed gently against your split lip, soaking up the bead of crimson that had welled up from the tiny knick.
“It’s fine. I barely even feel it.” You assured as you reached up to tap the back of his hand in a wordless bid for him to move his hand out of the way, Miguel obediently letting go of the pad of gauze in order to allow you to take over before moving back over to the monitors, which were flashing with an influx of messages and alerts.
You ungracefully flopped down onto the chair that Miguel had vacated and watched the man’s turned back as he turned his attention back to his job, wasting no time tapping away at the holograms to respond to some crisis or another, but you stayed right where you were, lounging in the comfortable leather seat and using your foot to spin yourself in unhurried circles.
And, while most people would have felt that Miguel was being callous and insensitive because of the speed at which he’d gone from being involved in such an intimate moment to working again, you knew from personal experience that, despite how invested in his work Miguel might’ve seemed upon first glance, the moment that you moved to leave the man would immediately inquire as to what you were doing and most likely prompt you to stay in his own awkward, gruff way.
Miguel had never been very good with words, the man often saying one thing while his body language said something completely different, but you didn’t need him to give voice to how much he enjoyed your company since you could tell regardless since you knew what to look for.
You saw how his previously tense shoulders and back were now relaxed -his movements confident yet leisurely as he slowly combed through the pile of work he’d accumulated over the duration of his quick break- which was a drastic improvement from the spastic state that you’d found him in, and how you’d occasionally meet his eyes in the reflection of the glowing screens, catching him in the act of sneakily checking in on you.
The memory of Miguel’s sly way of making sure you were still where he’d left you had a smile spreading across your face, causing the cut on your bottom lip to reopen, but you ignored the barely there pain in favor of just basking in the tranquil atmosphere between the two of you.

Hey everyone guess who has a new Instagram account for Cartoon Network infographics! The newest one is about the overall continuity of Cartoon Network programming and how the Cartoon Network canon predates the network itself. I will probably repost a few more of these on here eventually but here's a preview of the page for now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is there a Cartoon Network Multiverse?
The short answer is most likely. The long answer takes a little history. Cartoon Network was originally established to house the Hanna-Barbera library of animated series. Hanna-Barbera cartoons already had an established history of multi series continuity that predates CN, so likewise this continuity followed the shows onto the network.
This HB animated canon was established over a long history of crossovers. There's honestly enough of theses crossovers to be slightly overwhelming so here's three examples to jump off from if you are interested in diving into the older series
Space Ghost (1967) (Council of Doom arc) (The last 2 Space Ghost episodes (six segments), were dedicated to introducing series that were following after Space Ghost in production including The Herculoids, Mighty Mightor, and Shazzan)
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972) (This series is known for its guest stars, and this includes characters from other HB produced series; Josie and the Pussycats, Jeannie, and Speed Buggy)
Yogi’s Gang (1973) (Contains 20 different series worth of characters including Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Wally Gator fighting the likes of Dr.Bigot and sutch)
These series are three of the dozens of crossovers HB characters that existed before there was even a Cartoon Network.
When Cartoon Network was established, and eventually introduced its own series, at first it was implied these series were part of the older countuity. For instance Dexter's lab had a crossover with Dynomutt and The Blue Falcon, while Space Ghost and Birdman both cameo in an episode of The Powerpuff Girls.
Around the second half of CN G1, Cartoon Network shows started to move away from the prime HB timeline and focused more on individual series being self contained, however the crossovers never really slowed down, with a large amount of crossover material including; Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, the Cartoon Network City bumpers, Fusion Fall, Crossover Nexus, Punch Time Explosion, and even an upcoming (as of publishing) episode of Jellystone
HB being a multiverse in particular was already established by at least the 1980s in “Space Stars”, in with the “Teen Force” characters regularly and casually traveling between alternative dimensions, but continues to today with CN works like “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake”, which goes into detail about the logistics of Adventure Time’s central multiverse, and, by extension Cartoon Network’s larger multiverse as a whole. There's even a very telling “The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack” cameo.

In my opinion, the Hotel Transylvania films were underwhelming, cliché and too juvenile, they simply weren't for me. I didn't find the characters that interesting and so I didn't care about their relationships, the character I liked most was Ericka because of her potential as a goofy villain.
While I know it's a kid's movie, I dislike when vampires can opt out of drinking blood using blood substitutes. Its my opinion that vampires should be scary, and if they don't have to feed from living things then what's the point?
Do you like vampire-themed media in general, and do you like any mature vampire-media? I'm currently into Vampire: The masquerade which is an rpg taking place in a dark, gothic-punk version of the real world where supernatural beings live in secrecy.
I think they were good films, especially HT and HT3. They had alot of untapped potential I think. Transformania in particular did NOT measure up to what it could have been, and HT2 had it's problems too. But I liked the cartoony Addams Family approach and family dynamics. I wouldn't necessarily call them "Juvenile," particularly since there's a tendency to brush off animation - particularly cartoon animation, as being for kids and somehow not as valuable a medium. (You're also talking about something made by a person who was used to doing family cartoons like Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack, and loved cartoony animation. So it's not surprising it takes a more family friendly spin on monsters.) Along with Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, it helped bring cartoony stylization back to modern animation, which it deserves respect for.
I'd say there's something for everybody in the films. Heartfelt moments, funny moments, angst, surpeising depth at times, even some adult humor. But they're definitely not for those that believe vampires should be scary or evil as the big point is the "Monsters are just like us" racism/discrimination allegory. Then again, particularly as a queer neurodivergent and someone brought up on films like Iron Giant, Monsters Inc, Megamind, Shrek etc. I've always liked films that humanize characters we're expected to hate and be scared of and show them in a different light. And I personally found the introduction of blood substitutes and animals as vampire food sources an interesting way of doing that. Particularly now I know how vampire mythos can intersect with blood libel and the HT Drac fam's jewish coding.
(Here's another read more:)
Now, I DO agree Ericka is one of the best characters, and has been at the center of my obsession. Not only is she a fun goofy villain, but she's genuinely an interesting, loveable character too with an interesting backstory who deserves FAR more love than she got. A beautiful mix of feral chaos and charming elegance, who can be just as nuts as the guys, and definitely not the norm for a woman character. Particularly a love interest. And like many in the fandom, I feel she would have made a BEAUTIFUL vampire. But characters like Johnny, Mavis, Dennis, Drac etc are also fun to watch and play with for me.
In terms of other vampire media, I actually have gotten into some of them, particularly with my recent HT obsession! Dracula Dead and Loving it is a recent watch I liked. It has the tongue-in-cheek humor of HT but being more like the book and other Dracula adaptations, it's darker and more adult. Rocky Horror Picture Show's vampire adjacent and is pretty fun, particularly the music. As is Little Shop of Horrors (both versions of the musical film AND the OG black and white one.) And I've been meaning to watch the Van Helsing film. I've also read Dracula Daily and plan to do so again this year. While not exactly SUPER mature depending on how you define that, I've also played some of the Monster Prom, Camp, Roadtrip series which includes vampire characters. Alot of my "horror" stuff tends to be more like Nightmare before Christmas, Ghostbusters, Monster House, Corpse Bride, Gremlins, Addams Family (both Live action films and the TV series, plus I plan to watch the animated film some point,) Blithe Spirit, Bendy and the like. More family friendly type stuff.
Coraline (and Laika in general,) Bendy, Poltergeist (OG), The Twilight Zone (OG and one of the new series') and sometimes Doctor Who are probably the most hard horror things I've really gotten into. I've kind of dipped into FNAF on occasion, Quite a few of my friends are into Undertale, and have meant to watch Supernatural as well. But never fully got to watching either of those.

Cartoon Network Friday Spotlight: Dexter’s Laboratory- “D&DD”
Tumblr media
Y’all probably don’t need me reminding you of this, but the Dexter’s Lab crew were big ol’ dorks. And this translated to other shows in the Cartoon Network canon- Craig McCracken will gladly recount the tales of The Powerpuff Girls team holding speed run contests for Ocarina of Time.
So yeah, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Genndy and crew were into tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, because why wouldn’t they be? While tabletop RPGs have slowly crept their way into the cooler side of nerddom, they were still kind of niche 25+ years earlier when this episode first air. You could get a non-geek to see a super hero movie, but for the most part, only the biggest losers would play one of these games. Luckily that’s changed, but hey, that works for Dexter back then, doesn’t it?
In “D&DD”, we see some of Dexter’s inconsistent friends, but not Douglas (or Mordecai, I guess, which he’s later called in the post-revival seasons. Apparently that’s his last name, which I assume they came up with to not make people think of Dexter Douglas from Freakazoid!) play Mazes & Monsters, with Dexter as the dungeon master. Dexter is an unforgiving master, causing his friends to revolt and anoint Dee Dee when she expresses interest in joining.
Unsurprisingly, it turns out that Dee Dee is a solid, if unconventional DM, and she leads Dexter and his friends to victory in a fun little lark. I’ll confess that I’ve never been a TT RPG guy, so while some things fly over my head, it still works as a fun episode thanks to the ever-enjoyable conflicting personalities between Dee Dee’s bountiful joy and Dexter’s ego. That said, I wish we could have seen more of the other game Dee Dee started up at the end.
