Hello! I was wondering if I can get a request please. The reader works for Lockwood and Co but she has the complete opposite personality of what Lockwood has (ex: reader is more of listener rather than a talker and when she is around new people she is more on the quiet side until she gets comfortable around them) and Lockwood falls for the reader. Thank you!
Ain't a Life a Many Splendored Thing?

The moment that you stepped into 35 Portland Row for your interview, it was obvious to everyone that Lockwood was a goner.
You two were clearly exact opposites- where he was confident and cocky, you seemed more reserved and humble. Where he was reckless, you seemed calculated and exact. And it was now evident that while he found it natural to talk in order to prevent awkward silences around new people (especially those whom he found to be very attractive), you were perfectly comfortable with listening to him ramble.
“And right up here is the attic.” He was saying now as the two of you climbed up the creaking stairs. “You've met Lucy, obviously- this is her room. And yours as well, if you choose to live here.” He watched you take in the room, filled with Lucy's drawings and scarce decorations on the walls, your eyes lingering on the small bed hastily shoved in the corner. He looked at you with apprehension, admittedly a little worried that you would turn to him and say that you'd changed your mind and reject the employment offer.
Instead, you turned to him with a slight smile on your face and said, “Is it ok with Lucy? If I stay here?” Instantly, Lockwood was filled with relief. “It was her idea, actually.” He said softly, watching you nod in understanding. “Alright then.” You said, a sense of finality in your voice. Lockwood smiled and watched as you walked to set the small bag of belongings you had taken to your interview on top of your new bed. “I'll leave you to it, then. Dinner should be ready soon.” He said to you. You didn't respond, but Lockwood wasn't worried- he knew exactly what your soft smile was meant to convey.
------
“Lockwood, I just- I don't know if she fits here.” It had been only 3 days after you had officially joined Lockwood & Co., but Lockwood wasn't necessarily surprised by the remark George threw him from across the table that morning. You and Lucy were asleep, still tired after facing an infuriating ambush from a large cluster of Type Ones while on a Type Two case.
“What do you mean, George?” Lockwood asked as he took a sip of his tea. “I mean, she's just so quiet. She never speaks, and when she does it's either in one word responses or a couple phrases- even then, she mostly only ever talks to you. I'm just worried about how well she'll be able to communicate in the future.” George explained, his hands moving wildly about.
“You haven't seen her in the field, George- she's brilliant. Her sight is comparable to mine, and her touch… it's like Lucy with her Listening. Yes, she's a bit… reserved, but I'm sure she just needs to warm up to us, is all.” Lockwood smiled at his friend as he took another sip of tea, peeling open the front page of a new issue of True Hauntings.
“Don't think I didn't notice how you avoided the comment about how she only seems to talk to you.” George grumbled, taking a bite out of a piece of toast. Lockwood didn't look up from the text on the page in front of him as he mumbled a soft “I don't know what you're talking about.” George scoffed in response, starting to say something that sounded a lot like “you're clearly gone for her, why do I even try”, when you walked in, hair amess and blinking sleep out of your eyes.
The kitchen fell into immediate silence, George's face flushing in embarrassment as you looked at him, your expression unreadable. “If you're going to talk about me, you could at least do it while I'm around.” Lockwood looked up at that as he didn't notice you silently entering the kitchen. He took in your sleep-addled state and the look of fear in George's eyes. And then you were softly smiling. “I was joking, sorry. Didn't mean to scare you.” You said before sitting down next to Lockwood.
George snorted. “I think that's the most you've said to me the entire time you've been here.” George said, apparently taking your joke to heart. Lockwood softly kicked George under the table, but you just laughed a little.
Deciding to change the subject, Lockwood turned to you with a smile. “I'm sorry for him. What he meant to say was good morning. Would you like some tea?” You smiled at Lockwood, and he was hit with the thought that it mightve been the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. “Yes, please.” You responded. Lockwood nodded, getting up to turn the kettle on once more.
The morning passed like that- you and George softly trading barbs with one another, Lockwood making you your tea and toast, and Lucy stumbling in once you were almost done with breakfast and mumbling a “gmornin” to you and the boys. Soon, the discussion turned from an easygoing conversation over breakfast and lapsed into a more serious discussion as Lockwood started explaining the cases that you all had scheduled for that night.
You and Lockwood would be going out to a house that was reported to contain a Type Two and a couple Type Ones, George would be staying home to do some research for a bigger case the four of you had coming up the next week (he had also gotten injured a couple of days ago and his wound hadn't fully healed), and Lucy would be going to an office afflicted by a couple Type Ones.
Lockwood had been too busy dishing out the information for the night's events to realize that you hadn't been talking. It was only after Lucy and George had nodded in understanding and set out to set their own respective tasks- Lucy heading down to the basement and George getting ready to go to the Archives- when Lockwood looked to you and realized that you had been drawing on the Thinking Cloth the entire time.
He leaned over slightly, watching as you drew a small landscape on a tiny piece of empty space with a green pen that Lockwood wasn't sure he had ever seen before. He smiled as you drew, watching the concentration on your face. “Did you hear the cases for tonight?” He asked softly, watching the quirk at the corner of your lips.
“George is doing research, Lucy's got a couple of Type Ones, and you and me have got the Type Two.” You clicked your pen, signaling that you were finished with your drawing, and then you turned to look at Lockwood. “How'd I do?” You asked softly. “With the cases, or the drawing?” You shrugged, a look in your eyes that told him “both.” He smiled. “Excellent.” He whispered, making you smile.
Eventually, the two of you migrated from the kitchen to the library. Lockwood sat in his favorite armchair, surveying a stack of recent magazines as he decided which one to read first. You left the room quickly, and Lockwood frowned at your departure as he settled into the chair with a week old gossip rag.
But as quickly as you left, you had returned, a book in your hand as you sat down in the chair next to Lockwood. You two sat there for a while, Lockwood taking breaks to explain to you different London Society news while you happily listened and Lockwood smiling to himself every time you reached a point in your book that made you laugh or make some sort of exclamation of disbelief.
He was content, he realized, to just sit there and exist by your side. While he normally felt the need to make his presence known, to charm and impress anyone he might’ve just met, he found that he was very happy to just sit and read with you.
An hour or so later, Lockwood decided that he wanted to go down to the basement and get some training in before the case that night. He was about to ask you if you'd care to join before he noticed that you had fallen asleep, arms curled around your legs and head laying peacefully against the cushioning of the chair. He smiled as he closed his magazine, getting up slowly and draping a blanket over you without a sound.
As Lockwood walked out of the library, he realized that George had been right. Not about you not fitting in- no, you had definitely proven George wrong. Instead, he was forced to admit that George might've been right about Lockwood being gone for you.
hehehe thanks for reading!!! I just put in my 2 weeks at my soul sucking part time job so I'll hopefully have more motivation to work on these hehe!!! I'll also be making a masterlist very soon- I've been meaning to do that for a while
also if yall want a part 2, pls lmk! I loved writing this and I think I could do a lot more w it hehehehe. anywhom if you've read this far, thank you for reading!!! love u!

Buckle up guys, gals and non-binary pals, it's BoJere Tour Bus Renuion time <3
"...Bojan was tentatively asking me if I would join him on the tour bus" - Kris arches an eyebrow as he reads this part of the latest interview with Jere on his phone screen.
Tentatively? Seriously? Since when has Bojan done ANYTHING tentatively? Bojan is about as tentative as a- as a puppy. Which is why Kris has to watch him and "Nine Lives" Jure like a hawk.
Not for the first time, Kris is glad he doesn't have pets.
Turtles might be OK, he supposes.
Nace seems to think so.
Anyway, he's clearly going to have to talk to Bojan about this.
****
"Hey, Bojan, remind me: what are the rules of this tour?"
Bojan rolls his eyes. Like Kris doesn't know. Like Kris didn't write them. Like Kris didn't give him two copies (just in case). He shrugs.
"Let's see...what happens on the tour bus stays on the tour bus?"
Kris chucks a pillow at him. He ducks.
"That is the exact opposite of Rule 5 and you know it"
Ugh, he's in one of those moods. Bojan briefly considers throwing the pillow back, but decides against it.
"Rule 5? What were the other 4?" He grins. "Wait, don't tell me. They're all the same rule, just with different names."
Kris refuses to take this bait, unfortunately.
"Rule 5 is - as you very well know - No Sex On The Tour Bus"
How is he capitalising every letter of that stupid rule just saying it, Bojan wonders.
"Right, and why are you bringing up that rule with me? Shouldn't you be reminding...ooh, I don't know...your fellow guitarists of that one?"
Kris folds his arms and Bojan knows he shouldn't push it but he can't help himself.
"Or does it not apply if both parties are band members? Kinda discriminatory Krisko. Does this mean I have to start sleeping with Jure again?" He grins, gives Kris a suggestive look. "Or-"
Kris gives him a don't-even-think-about-it look in response - spoilsport - and thrusts his phone at him.
Ooh, it's an interview with Jere...
Ah.
OK, Jere has obviously said something.
Yep. Kris has highlighted it. Of course he has.
He reads the offending sentence, rereads it, laughs, looks up.
"Oh come on Kris, this is just Jerč-Jere messing around. He probably said it because he knew it would get attention. Although" he feels obliged to point out, because joke or no joke this slander will not stand: "it was actually HIM asking ME if he could-"
Kris sighs the deep sigh of the terminally exasperated.
"Look, I don't care who asked who, your boyfriend-"
"-NOT my boyfriend actually but do carry on"
Kris doesn't even bat an eyelid.
"Whatever he is, he's NOT coming on the bus. In EITHER sense. There's barely enough room for the five of us as it is"
He gestures to the admittedly cramped living quarters they've somehow got used to sharing. Bojan can see his point, even if he is making it in the most insufferable way possible. He sighs.
"FINE. No Sex On The Tour Bus"
Kris looks at him.
"Promise?"
He's such a Boy Scout sometimes. Bojan can't resist saluting as he replies.
"Yes, Mr-If-I-Can't-Get-Laid-Neither-Can-Anyone-Else, I promise"
And he runs off before Kris can find anything else to throw at him.
****

Jere is laughing as he puts his phone down, he can't help laughing whenever he interacts with Bojan, but he's soon serious again.
Yes, he ABSOLUTELY said that to that reporter because he knew they'd eat it up.
But...
He was hoping that he and Bojan would-
Well.
You know.
But Bojan has made a promise, and his Bojan doesn't break promises.
So Jere is going to have to...get creative.
He grins.
He's always enjoyed a challenge.

happy birthday to me!! premier league cmjf that is going NOWHERE. this is IT. just a snippet that will not be continued EVER
cut for length, sfw, ~870 words

» Stop chatting shit about my pass rate, you talentless hack. Just because you're not on the field anymore and your jealous
Punk looks at his phone. Looks at the timestamp on the message; 1:06am, and the time on his phone, 5:52am, and then wonders how the fuck Friedman got his phone number to send him this directly.
He recites an internal mantra about professionalism, impartiality, and conducting himself well in any work done outside of the TV studio, and then ignores all of it in favour of composing a reply.
« Don't think I won't block you here as well as twitter. You're on a team, not a one-man show, and I know your coaches have told you about this
He hits send and almost immediately regrets it because the kid does have coaches to teach him this, and he isn’t one of them. His current job is to give post-match analysis on a fucking football highlights show, be a pundit playing off a couple others, not to have every word he says about City’s, admittedly, top centre-forward be dissected by the man himself.
The universal symbol of a furiously typed response appears, and Punk cuts him off with a quick message of his own.
« Go to sleep, Max
Hopes the use of his first name might actually encourage it, but instead, five minutes later, his phone vibrates.
» Fuck OFF, Takeshita wasn't in position to receive and we would of gifted it to Zayn if I passed it which I'm sure you would be THRILLED [1/2]
» about, you're biases for your old team are showing yet again you old dickhead!!! [2/2]
He presses his hand to his face, rubbing at his closed eyelids because he isn’t getting into an argument with City’s fastest rising star at arse-o’clock in the fucking morning, but apparently, he is.
…Well, if he’s going to get into it, he can at least do it caffeinated.
He pushes himself out of bed, tests his weight on his bad knee, the same way he does every morning. Larry stirs, hopping off the bed, probably in hopes of a walk, and Punk looks out of the window at the sheets of rain pouring from a sky that would be slate-grey if the sun were up. Thinks, maybe not this morning, bud.
He makes for the kitchen. Scoops out some ground coffee, tamps it down in the portafilter before mounting it in the machine, checking the water in the back, and pressing the button.
By the time he’s done all that there are another 3 texts in his inbox.
» Just because you were one of the greats before your decrepid body have out on you, don't think you know how the game has evolved in the last [1/3]
» seven years, I'm the past present and future of this fucking sport I don't need to pass you daft twat I just need to score goals and I've [2/3]
» scored more than you in less games, more goals + more possession + less games means I am BETTER THAN YOU. [3/3]
Punk rolls his eyes. It’s a good thing he’s a quality player. If it weren’t for his nightmarish attitude at times, he could be truly great.
Punk thinks he’d have done well in the game back in the nineties. A throwback to the old days of booting the ball down the field, rather than the more technical back and forth of the modern game.
The lax attitude to rules and on-pitch violence wouldn’t hurt, either.
« Record for number of yellow cards in a season too. Maybe you should try harder to not have your gorgeous fouls observed
He hits send and immediately realises his autocorrect mistake.
« Horrendous**. You could have shattered Garcia's knee, it was a disgusting tackle, and I see you didn't comment on me saying that on motd
Too late.
» "Gorgeous" lmao your such a fucking creep. Bet you get off on watching your own old tackles you freak
Another eye roll. This conversation is going nowhere, and as much as he wants to insinuate that Friedman has definitely got off watching Punk’s old matches, because he’s also seen those interviews, Punk’s poster on his wall, favourite player growing up and all that, those aren’t the sort of messages he wants to have to answer to on his next Match of the Day appearance. These are damning enough as they are.
« Stopping this here. Go to sleep.
He gets a 🖕 in response, but nothing else. Breathes a sigh of relief. Grabs his coffee and sits down at the kitchen counter, sipping at it, watching the rain belt at the patio doors.
His phone vibrates again on the table and he thinks, what now, before he sees it’s an email this time, and his heart jumps in his chest.
Skim-reads the whole thing, and then reads it again, in detail.
We look forward to you joining the team.
As a coach.
For Manchester City.
He isn’t thinking about Friedman. He isn’t thinking about Friedman at all, and he certainly isn’t thinking of the lessons he can teach him on actually being part of a team.
Isn’t thinking of having to deal with the little shit in person on a daily basis.
... it definitely beats Match of the Day, though.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Commentary - A Tale of Minority Resiliency
I had the privilege of watching this film with a majority Black audience of over 1000 people, and can I just say, we had A LOT of fun. The dialogue was on point, the costumes were awesome, the fight scenes were well directed, and emotions were high. I've always believed that a good movie holds your attention, makes you feel something, and makes you empathize with the characters, and Wakanda Forever checked all those boxes.
Tumblr media
Upon discussing the film with others, I found that we all didn't particularly appreciate one of the film's primary conflicts being between two minority groups who shared similar histories and cultures. War severs the longstanding, cultural impact of the communities involved. While war may not have been discussed heavily (because everything is fairly lighthearted in Marvel movies), it was certainly felt by adult audiences that there would be significant loss on either side of the conflict. I was very ambivalent while watching the film and struggled to find a side or character to root for. In end, I found myself feeling a little stressed over it considering my lens is that of an Afro-Latina, but I was calmed by other plotlines and movie events.
Tumblr media
To be fair though, there is an important difference between Indigenous peoples and Latin people who were colonized. It wasn't until after I reflected on this that I removed my little self-insert. This was also a major topic of inspection on social media when it came to some audience members' favorite characters. There was some confusion and debate on the characters' ethnic backgrounds and how they played a role into both American history and Marvel's cinematic universe. While Marvel definitely seemed to be playing with fire in terms of proper representation and literal themes of slavery, I don't think their portrayal of minority ethnicities was intended to be offensive or exploitative. Admittedly, Disney is definitely culture hopping at this point but, at least in this film, it did not seem to detract from the story or dehumanize the characters.
Tumblr media
What I absolutely loved about the film was an investigation of vengeance and an opposing view of the hero archetype displayed in the late Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. Letitia Wright (whose costume designer needs a raise) does an amazing job at expressing the grief and trauma her character experiences, making it all the more plausible for her to make the difficult decisions she does. While the thin line between justice and revenge has been thoroughly showcased in films prior, I enjoyed seeing it play into this scenario and involve story building elements and callbacks to the previous movie.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, I think that the external struggle of war and the internal struggle of grief allow for the leveling of socio-cultural walls in the film. Loss is something everyone can relate to and incorporating the historic loss of minority cultures in the United States creates a sense of appreciation for all that remains. This is what makes the characters in this movie relatable and what fundamentally motivates their dynamicity. Being Black or Brown in the United States forces you to carry the burden and legacies of generations that came before you. It is a mutual admiration of this unique experience that the film partially explores and employs as a tool to bond people who have experienced trauma. This also extends to personal, emotional afflictions and plays into the "hurt people hurt people," idea. It takes a lot of strength to overcome this psychological and generational pain to continue to the thrive. Therefore, living a life of resiliency is the only solution.
Random additional comments:
The film had some romantically charged scenes that came out of nowhere, and it was later revealed in an interview that there was an intended romance subplot. Apparently test audiences were not fans of this so, most of the romantic moments were cut from the movie. The end result was two main characters being slightly more flirty than platonic in a general way. Though it did not hinder the plot, it felt abruptly inserted. If anything, it successfully resulted in the thirstification of Letitia Wright and Tenoch Huerta by basically everyone.
Letitia Wright's outfits gave what they needed to give.
Music was a bop. Ooo! And with Rihanna's new music too!

make it to the finish line
Tumblr media
Mercury raised his brows, somewhat surprised. When his team had brought up that they were urgently going to find and hire a new PR manager, he wasn't all too worried.
He hadn’t even been remotely concerned, considering the fact that this would be his.. fourth PR manager? Fifth? Ah, who knows. Point is, this new hire would certainly be added to the list of who held this position.
PR manager of the infamous racer bad boy Mercury Meyer. He was a hotshot on the track, with a number of records to his name even at his rather young age.
However, his reputation out of the car was admittedly not as hot.
“You're kidding, right? There's no way.”
One of the men of his team coughed awkwardly at the racer's bluntness, gesturing to Mercury with his hand. “Mercury Meyer, as you know.”
The woman before him blinked with shining eyes. She was dressed modestly in a simple blouse and pencil skirt. Her short hair had been combed neatly, and she wore a polite smile on her pink lips.
If she had been fazed by his words, she hid it rather well.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Meyer,” she greeted, holding out a hand expectantly. “My name is Debu Jang. I'll be your new PR manager from now on.”
There was a pretty bracelet decorated on her wrist. Mercury eyed it as he let go and watched her arm fall back down to her side. When their eyes met, he felt the corner of his lips quirk up.
No one had told him his new PR manager would be cute out of all things. He blinked once, then twice. With a smirk, he tilted his head to the side.
“Oh, no, no, the pleasure's allll mine.”
Tumblr media
It hadn’t even been two weeks and Debu was losing her mind.
She knew this client would be the most difficult out of all the ones she had taken and supervised over her short time in this position. And to be frank, she was surprised she even managed to score this one.
Mercury Meyer was famous whether you were in the business industry or not obviously. He had tons of fans at his beck and call; the racing entertainment industry had seen its audience viewership skyrocket into new numbers ever since he stepped onto the track.
Debu was used to taking lesser known clients. Clients who weren’t on every news coverage nearly every week or so, and certainly not as troublesome as this racer.
She had no idea where he was half of the time and had to learn from others that he was either on the track practicing for an upcoming race or just for the hell of it, partying off in some bar or penthouse, or lounging around at his penthouse.
It didn’t help that he was handsome of all things. He was so handsome, those cameras and interviews and such did no justice to actually seeing this man stand in front of her. (But we won’t talk about that.)
“He’s where??” Debu sighed into the phone, rummaging through her purse to look for some papers she had tucked away.
The lady on the phone—Debu had forgotten her name already—sounded just as tired at her. “He was last seen at Repullo’s Glass. Some kind of high-end bar, I think.”
She didn't want to mess up her simple makeup today, so she resisted rubbing at her eyes with a groan. “Got it, thank you. He’s gonna need to agree to this sponsorship deal whether he likes it or not.”
Debu heard a soft, “Good luck, ma’am,” from the lady before she ended the call and stored her phone into her purse.
Tumblr media
Debu didn’t do parties. She could count the amount of parties she had been to in her entire life on the fingers of one hand. They weren’t really her thing. (Sure, she attended formal parties for business matters only, so those don’t count in her book.)
It hadn’t been all too difficult to find the place actually. But it’d be harder to find the blonde in this place. It was practically bustling with people in every corner.
Luckily, it seemed like fate was on her side, because she ran into Mercury right near the actual bar where drinks were being served, and she almost laughed at the surprise that took over his face.
“My, my, princess,” he greeted her, his voice a low purr, “I’ve never had any of my PR managers chase after me into these kinds of places.”
Debu tried to ignore the petname, coughing softly to clear her throat, but the faint blush was obvious on her cheeks. “Well, um. I hope I won’t have to do it again in the future. I’ve- I’ve been trying to contact you over the past few days.”
Mercury raised a brow. “Oh? I had no idea, princess.”
God, how she wanted to wipe the smirk off his face. Was he telling her that all her ignored phone calls and messages didn’t exist? How dare he!
“What?” Debu frowned, “But I’ve been calling and texting your number. You’ve just been ignoring all of them."
Mercury’s smirk only widened. “Don’t frown, pretty. Y’got cute dimples,” he commented cheekily, “And that’s the number my company gave you. I don’t use that one.”
His compliment had her blush increasing and she refused to look him in the eye, focusing on his lips. Oh crap, bad idea. She coughed and looked to the side.
“You didn’t think to give me your real number when we first met? I’m your—"
“PR manager, yeah, yeah.” Mercury waved her off and lifted his hand, palm facing upward.
Debu looked back to him, confused.
“Your phone, pretty. Thought you wanted my number?” He waggled his eyebrows.
“N-not like that!” Debu cried out, flushed. However, she began fishing for her phone out of her bag with a grumble.
She handed him her phone and he dutifully entered his number on her contact list. “Theeere we go. You should be excited, not a lotta girls get my actual number, y’know.”
Debu resisted the urge to roll her eyes but sighed in relief. Okay, so she could actually do her job now. “Thank you, Mr. Meyer.”
“Oh, boo,” he huffed, “Just call me Mercury, princess. I don’t mind; no need to be so formal.”
“I’ll call you whatever I like, Mr. Meyer,” she responded professionally. She didn’t know how much longer she could last with his teasing.
“Ooh, whatever you like, huh?” he chuckled. “Well, you got what you wanted, princess. So if that’s all, I’ll be on m-”
Debu jolted. “Wait! Not so fast, I actually came on behalf of something else,” she informed him.
Mercury pouted but stayed put. She’d be damned if she was just going to let him walk away after wasting so much time trying to reach him.
“Let me buy you a drink then, princess.”
So she told him about the sponsorship deal and what it entailed. (She wasn’t normally a drinker, but perhaps she had a drink or two. Or three.)
“Mm, alright. I’ll agree to it,” Mercury finally answered after she had finished. He tilted his head to the side. “On one condition.”
Debu nearly sighed. “What is it then?”
He grinned a pretty grin. “You call me Mercury. And you let me take you out just once, yeah?"
If she wasn’t blushing before, she most definitely was now. If she had been drinking a drink, she would’ve probably spat it out. “What?????” she squeaked out, jaw almost dropping.
“What do you say, pretty?” Mercury hummed, still grinning. God, how did he look so perfect? “Make it worth your time, promise.”
While Debu’s love life—well, lack of one—wasn’t entirely sunshine and rainbows right now, she had set herself some rules. Never date a client.
“Th-that’s two conditions,” she pointed out meekly.
“‘m not hearing a no.” Mercury smirked. Damn him.
She must be drunk. Yeah, that must be it. That must be the reason because she didn’t allow herself to dwell any longer on it and said, “Fine.”
Tumblr media
You must be wondering what this sponsorship deal is even about.
Debu was actually very familiar with the fashion and brand industry. Most of her clients were involved in that kind of business. And some friends. Diva Aubry being one of them.
Diva was a model she had grown up, being best friends since childhood. She had seen him pursue his dreams despite his father’s disapproval and was doing pretty well in the industry.
Anyway, this sponsorship deal in particular was with Calvin Klein, who had been eyeing Mercury to do some shoots for them. (Debu was positively sure that if Mercury hadn’t been a racer, he would be doing just fine being a permanent model.)
It was honestly perfect; it was a notorious brand, Calvin Klein, that nearly everyone knew of willing to do a partnership with the racing industry of all things—though it was understandable because it was Mercury—and again, the fashion industry was something she was familiar with. There would be benefits on both sides.
All she had to do was play along with this little request of his.
Should be easy enough. Right?
Tumblr media
Mercury grinned down at his PR manager. Ah—his date, actually.
“Mr. Mey-”
“It’s Mercury, princess,” he lightly scolded her in jest, pouting, “How many times am I going to have to tell you? You still want that sponsorship deal, right?”
Debu’s eyes widened at the false threat and she corrected herself hastily. “No-!” she stuttered out, “I- I mean, yes. Yes, I still want the sponsorship deal to go smoothly.”
“Relaaax, princess,” he chuckled, letting his eyes study her somewhat casual formal attire for a bit. She was wearing what she normally wore on the job.
“Hmm.. while I do think you’re cute in anything you wear, you remember we’re going on a date, yeah? We should get you changed out of those office clothes.”
He watched eagerly as the pink dusted over her face, and she spluttered incoherent words as she tugged at the sleeves of her blouse. “I- uh, I’m fine! Really, I don’t need to change.”
Mercury shook his head. “No, no, pretty. I said I’m taking you out, which means you’re my date for the day, not my PR manager.” He grinned.
Debu blinked at him several times and began to stammer out more excuses but before she could really protest any further, he grabbed ahold of her hand and tugged her along.
Mercury had dragged her to some store and made her buy an outfit he deemed more suitable for their date. She had insisted on spending her own money but in the end, it was his credit card that had been used.
And now here they were, eating out at some secluded but pretty high-priced restaurant. They ordered off the menu and Mercury took it upon himself to learn more about his new pretty little PR manager.
“Don’t be offended, princess,” he started, resting his chin in his hands with his elbows propped up on the table. “But you don’t strike me as a person who would take this kinda job.”
Debu blinked. “O-oh. Well, I don’t blame you. I can be a little.. timid.”
“S’cute.”
She blushed, ignoring his gaze shyly. “I, uh.. I didn’t think I’d be in this position either. But.. but I’m organized and um... I like taking care of people,” she confessed.
Mercury hummed, genuinely surprised. “Huh. I didn’t really think of it that way.” And then he smirked. “Well, pretty. ‘m sure you’ll take care of me juuust fine.”
The innuendo flew over her head and she merely smiled softly. “That’s my job,” she said sweetly. Oh, how precious, really.
“And you, Mercury?” she inquired, now curious herself. It sounded nice; his name coming from her. At least she had stopped calling him by his last name now. “Why did you decide to become a racer?”
Mercury slumped in his chair and laughed, shrugging halfheartedly. “I honestly dunno, princess. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do most of my life and it just came t'me.”
Debu nodded lightly. “Well, I’m glad you find something to do with your life. And I might not know much about racing, but I saw some clips! You’re pretty good.”
Mercury heard praise from his team, other racers, the media, his fans—you name it—all the time. But for some reason, he liked it even more from her.
Smug, he leaned forward. “Oh? You’ve looked me up? My, my, princess.”
She blushed—so easy to tease—and coughed in an attempt to cover up her flustered self. “Don’t- don’t flatter yourself. I was only curious. I need to know who my client is after all.”
“Riiiiiight.”
She sighed and shook her head, but there was a small smile on her lips. “Also, I was thinking about your conditions. If you’re going to have some, then I should too.”
He straightened his posture and raised a brow. “Oh? You name it then, princess.”
Debu looked him in the eye. “In order for us to get the sponsorship deal with Calvin Klein, you have to be on your best behavior.”
The blonde stuck out his tongue childishly. “Oh, please. I might not be a goody two shoes like you, princess, but I’m not that bad!”
“I’m serious, Mercury,” Debu sighed, and there was something in her eyes that made him simply listen, “I really mean it. You’ll still be able to do whatever you used to do just.. moderately. Okay?”
“Easy peasy, princess.” He winked at her as their food arrived. “I won’t let you down.”
Tumblr media
Their relationship actually started improving after that date. And the one after that. And the one after that. And another.
Okay, so what if Mercury kept saying “one more” to make the sponsorship deal work? He immensely enjoyed his PR manager’s time.
Besides, he was sure this was helping her job anyway. She had a better eye on him and could actually discuss some of their other plans and advertisements and whatnot with him.
They were even comfortable enough to spend time together out of work hours. Well, Debu’s work hours.
“Princess, you should totally come and watch my next race!” he suggested to her one day, all giddy and excited. He was munching on the lunch he had brought her to her office, chilling on the sofa there.
She blinked. “Silly, I have to go to your races.”
It was his turn to blink. “Oh. Right.” He winked at her, throwing a fry into his mouth. “Was just makin’ sure, pretty.”
Tumblr media
The cheering from the people was loud, but Debu paid no attention to it. She had been directed with some of Mercury’s team to one of the private boxes where she could watch the race happen.
At first, it was hard to keep track of which car was Mercury’s—the vehicles were mere blurs on the track at times—but she could make out his signature red colors amongst the others. It was honestly exhilarating.
And of course, he scored first place. It was no surprise, but Debu still cheered as if he could hear her, watching his triumphant reactions on one of the screens as he departed from his car.
Mercury managed to find the camera with his deep blue gaze and winked at it. It was something he did often after he won races, and it surely made some of those in the audience swoon.
(Perhaps the wink was directed at certain someone though. Debu wasn’t sure, but it was enough to make her blush.)
Tumblr media
Debu knew how to handle messy situations. Most of the time. Especially messy situations that involved her clients. That was part of her job.
She tackled her job with a firm mindset, a clear head. But now, this was different. This was drastically different. Her heart was involved.
As Mercury Meyer’s PR manager, she had to keep tabs on things that he was involved in. Yes, he did have a right to privacy. But if there was something about him, she had to be and usually was the first person to know.
There were multiple tabloids and articles all over the media. Something about how Mercury had gotten entangled with some bimbo actress at some club doing some kind of shit and—
Debu’s phone started to ring.
She ripped her eyes away from her laptop screen to look at the buzzing device. She blinked and felt tears clinging onto her lash line with gasp.
The caller ID read: merc 😉 and she maybe felt like throwing up. Just maybe.
She debated whether to answer or not. Against her better judgement, she picked up her phone and answered the call.
Mercury’s voice came out rushed and hurriedly, and she actually felt like throwing up right then and there because why did he sound like that?
“Oh my God, princess, I’m so sorry— I don’t know wha-”
Debu hung up on him.
Tumblr media
Fuck. Mercury was actual grateful for being a race car driver for once. Because he was speeding down the streets with a speed that would surely score him a couple of tickets.
But currently, he didn’t really care about that. He was more focused on getting to Debu because she was clearly upset. It didn’t matter if he was speeding on the city streets at 10:39 pm—he was going to see her.
Eventually, he made it to her apartment complex in record time and was knocking at her door.
“Princess, please open the door,” he pleaded, unsure if she could even hear him, “We need to talk. We both know we gotta confront this.”
To his surprise, the door opened, revealing a distraught Debu. It looked like she had been crying and Mercury felt his chest throb at the sight. “Oh, princess.”
Her stare hardened at the petname and she looked like she was halfway through of considering shutting the door. “What do you want, Mercury?” she demanded pointedly, ignoring her sniffing.
“I swear I didn’t do anything,” he stated firmly, “I saw all the stuff on social media and I swear it’s not me. I would never do that to the sponsorship— to you. I swear it, Debu.”
She looked conflicted, hand still on the door and eyes flickering to stare at him and the floor. Finally, she inhaled sharply.
“Fine. If you are telling the truth.. I’ll— we’ll fix this.”
Tumblr media
Someone had framed him.
The tabloids were always hungry for the next big scoop, and someone thought it would be funny to make it about Mercury. And possibly ruin his partnership with Calvin Klein.
When they had learned the truth that night, Debu immediately got to work and was waking everyone on the PR team up to tackle the issue.
Mercury had simply sat aside and watched her work, feeling a mix of relief and worry.
It was worrying obviously; someone had spread malicious rumors of him but he was glad that they were actually fake. Out of all the things they chose to frame, they had to choose him sleeping with another woman.
After it was all over, Debu closed her laptop and hung up with the last person on the phone before sighing heavily. She looked back to Mercury, tired.
“Well, I’ve had some of the team contact those who published some of the articles and posts. We’re going to release a public statement addressing it tomorrow morning.” Her brows furrowed. “And you’re probably gonna have to make a post about it or something as well.”
Mercury didn’t say anything, opting to stare at her.
Debu sighed and looked away, hugging her arms to her chest. “Look, I- I’m sorry that I hung up on you earlier. I was- I was just overwhelmed. Yeah.”
When he still didn’t say anything, she began to ramble.
“I mean, what else was I supposed to think? I was so- I was so upset! I- I thought.. gosh, I don’t even know what I thought. I’m your PR manager and here I am- catching feelings for y-”
Debu gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth.
Mercury’s eyes widened. “Princess?”
She shook her head fiercely and began to talk away. “N-nope! I didn’t- I didn’t say anything! And now that everything is alright for now, y-you should probably go and- and-”
He grabbed her hand before she could get far and tugged her close to him. “I don’t think y’want that, princess,” he said softly, “And neither do I.”
Debu’s lips parted in awe as she stared up at him, “M-Merc?”
“Don’t worry your pretty lil’ head,” he chuckled, but there was genuine fondness in his voice, “You’re the only PR manager I want from now on.”
His smile was enough to sweep her off her feet, but he had done that a long time ago already. “But you gotta be my girlfriend too.”
Tumblr media
The press had learned the truth and that someone had framed Mercury—it had went smoothly in the end and with the scandal being proven false, the Calvin Klein partnership was still on the table.
Mercury had released his own statement on the matter too. It was something Debu had been embarrassed to agree to—he had officially announced something amongst the words of “happily taken” and that he wouldn’t be doing such things.
Of course, her identity was concealed and kept private. She was still his PR manager after all.
Though, Mercury would be damned if he couldn’t show off his pretty girl in some way. And he did have to prove that his announcement was truthful—he had a girlfriend. People weren’t gonna buy it if there wasn’t something they could see.
Debu miraculously allowed him to post something of them together at least every now and then. (With her face covered because Debu was used to working behind the scenes, not being shown on them. Mercury respected that obviously. Until they were ready to actually go public, he was happy with the little moments.)
Tumblr media
“One more condition, princess.”
Debu couldn’t help but laugh, and the sound of it made his heart swell, knowing he was the cause of it. Mercury grinned as she looped her arms around his neck.
“You’re a temporary Calvin Klein model, Merc,” she giggled playing with his blonde curls absentmindedly, “There aren’t any more conditions to make. You made it to the finish line, didn’t you?”
“My prize then.”
Debu pretended to think. “Mm, okay. What do you want?”
“Just you ‘n your pretty lil’ self.” He began peppering kisses down the side of her jaw, making her giggle and making him smile into her skin. “Whaddya say? I think that’s a prize fit f’me. Better than any sponsorship or trophy.”
Debu’s heart fluttered and she leaned into his touch.
“Your prize is all yours then.”

They literally reduced Eddie to “that angry guy” in Buck’s dream, what are you talking about? Now canonically deep down in Buck’s subconscious Eddie is just an angry guy. A failed parent. Not his best friend. Not something more which some delusional people try to use as a reason for Eddie not being there. The only reason Eddie wasn’t there is that the showrunner hates Eddie and Buck’s relationship wether it be friendship or romance and you choose to not see that, too afraid to criticise the show instead of standing up for your presumably favourite character. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions from that.
Hello again angry anon. I just had a really great nap so decided to humour you once more.
Firstly 'A failed parent' good parents lose custody all the time. Good parents in bad situations. Losing custody is not proof of being a failed parent. There's already an example in the show of Nia, her mum hit a bad situation and a bad time with the pandemic etc. Bad shit happens to good people. And that's true to real life, it's pretty scummy to assume keeping/getting custody = good person.
Eddie isn't in the dream world 118 because he didn't have the support system that enabled him in the 'real world'
The dream was the worst case scenario. Bobby wouldn't for sure have died without Buck, Eddie didn't need solely Buck for things to go his way but as the most important people in Buck's life it makes sense that his anxiety over them and the worse case scenario being worse. But if Eddie had been in the dream, I suspect you would have complained then too so 🤷
The angry descriptor is not something I liked either actually. But I'm guessing it was a clumsy way to allude to the episode rage and the street fighting. Either way there could have been much better ways to show he was overwhelmed that's true. They could have done better with this, yea.
I'm guessing they were talking about how when Eddie did have anger issues in the episode rage etc relating to his grief re Shannon, it was Bobby that stepped in and talked to him man to man. Considering Eddie kicked a guy's nose into his brain, that is pretty angry so maybe that's what Hen is talking about. That's admittedly a pure guess but you can't say that Eddie didn't need the 118 as a family to help him through his grief and rage-
Tumblr media
Ahhh, the showrunner- every passive aggressive anon I've seen a friend get today is obsessed about the showrunner. I don't read her interviews since the first one she did that upset everyone. And before that I didn't really read any interviews with showrunners aside from tidbits that came across my dash so you do you but I'm not gonna stress about that. It's outta my power who the showrunner is, shows I've loved and characters I've loved have been done dirty before too. I can just hope not this time. Yelling on tumblr about it won't change her day so, for the most part I do my best to pay her no mind either.
Tumblr media
Oh, Ryan Guzman has stipulation in his contract to work reduced hours on I believe two episodes a season and by the amount he was in I'd guess this was one. Perhaps that means next week in an episode dealing with PTS like he has too, he'll be way more prevalent. I really hope so but I'm also prepared to be disappointed. Is it ideal that this episode may have been the reduced episode? Depends on who you ask I guess. I can predict your answer.
I do actually criticize the show a lot when I think it's warranted, which tells me again you have no clue who I am and just want to yell on anon at people.
And you know what I do when I'm disappointed with a show? Well, I sure as shit don't go yelling at people on anon that's for sure.
One piece of advice for you: when a TV show stops being a source of joy or even mild entertainment for you, maybe stop watching.
Go play with a kitten, I am right now. It's super fun.

Put On Your Raincoats | Water Power (Costello, 1977)
Tumblr media
On paper, this has a lot in common with Forced Entry, both movies by Shaun Costello about deranged loners who stalk the streets inflicting their violent desires on unsuspecting women. But this was made with bigger stars and more money, and has a very different energy from the earlier movie, and in most respects is an easier watch. Now, the one respect in which it might not be easier to watch is integral to the premise, in that it's enema-themed porno and is about as appetizing to watch as it sounds. In the interest of transparency, I'll admit that I looked away from the screen a few times. But aside from the gross central gag (which the movie repeats a few times, so I'd recommend not snacking while you're watching this), it does consciously lean into titillation (one scene has a pair of sisters with pigtails, playing into fetishes more up Costello's alley), and the climactic (and least gross) sex scene features C.J. Laing, who specialized in rougher stuff and throws herself into the proceedings, making her scene a bit easier to watch. And unlike Forced Entry, which feels like an exercise in pure repulsion, you get the sense that Costello found the concept of a Travis Bickle or Frank Zito type going around and giving people enemas pretty funny, and finds ways to inject some humour into the proceedings, most notably the medical roleplay that introduces the concept to the protagonist, with Eric Edwards and Marlene Willoughby both leaning into the sketch comedy dimensions of their perverted characters. (Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how brothel owner Gloria Leonard promotes "high colonics", insisting that they're "all the rage".)
Surprisingly, the central performance by Jamie Gillis makes this both easier to watch and less potent as horror than Forced Entry. In that movie, perhaps because of how few grace notes were present either in Harry Reems' (sans mustache) performance or the movie around him, he came off like an authentically deranged psychopath. Here, while Gillis becomes more credibly scary later on, early scenes have him struggling to reconcile his freakouts, which have a cartoon quality, and his performance in the rape scenes, where he comes off more like a calculating dom than a genuine sicko. (This might seem a little surprising, as Gillis is generally regarded as the better actor and was the more unsavoury guy in real life to boot.) I can appreciate Gillis' commitment to the role (he tried to interview the real life Enema Bandit on whom the character was based), but likely because of the speed at which Costello worked, Gillis has trouble finding his groove right away.
I do think the movie has a nice sense of forward momentum, thanks to a procedural plot (which is admittedly undercooked but still gives the movie some structure), and Costello's street level style, which gives the whole thing a nice grungy atmosphere and effectively blurs the lines between the protagonist's headspace, his dismal looking apartment (walls lined with porno mags and a telescope trained on his pretty neighbour) and the grime of pre-cleanup New York. In his blog entry about the making of the movie, Costello recounts that he stopped himself from laughing at the mobster who asked him to make this, and that Taxi Driver was a conscious influence. I wonder what Scorsese would have thought of this movie.

______
The bile on Jungwon's throat had risen up steadily , increasingly along with the horrible damning feeling in his stomach. He wasn't the only one though. The hundreds of students who had gathered along more or less felt the same. Some had started crying, some ran away no longer being able to bear it anymore.
Admittedly the only mention of Jake's name had always had Jungwon's body be filled with dread. But this time it was for an entirely different reason. He watched with horror and disgust as the officers along with the helpers climbed out of the well with a body in their arms.
The entire crowd had gasped in horror. A boy in their very own school uniform. His shirt and pants were torn in various places and the skin that showed was battered everywhere, a greenish tint surrounding it. The officers tried their best to cover the face with their arms from the crowd but glimpses had already been exposed to the fresh bite of air.
And the face? The face was broken to the point that it had become unrecognisable. Eyes were bloodied and swollen and the mouth was hanging limp, dried up blood seemed to have surrounded it.
And if Jungwon thought that the stench in the well was bad before, it is even worse now with the source coming out. But even with all of that he couldn't break his eyes off at the scene.
Reporters had already flocked the scene, flashing cameras everywhere, desperately trying to get a glimpse of the broken body that was only covered with a white sheet. The thing was, no one actually knew if the said body was Jake's but even without them being able to recognise the face Jungwon just knew it belonged to Jake. How could it not? The boy had been missing for a week and even though Jungwon enjoyed his days without his presence, the days that flowed by without him only filled him with a sense of uncertainty.
With the sinking feeling once again he fled pushing last through the crowd of kids and adults alike all awaiting to see the commotion. Eager to catch a glimpse. But all Jungwon wanted to do was run away .
_______________________________________________________
School the next day was frantic and scary. This was the last place Jungwon wanted to be in. As before his intuition was correct. The body did belong to Jake. But that was all he knew about and he didn't want to know anything else.
It seemed that Jungwon seemed to be the only one who was not talking about yesterday. Not because he didn't want to but because he didn't really have anyone to talk to in school anyway. He was surprised that school was even going on in the first place given the circumstances, he had half expected a memorial of some sort to take place in respect for the dead. But nothing of that sort happened. In fact school has gone how it went any other day. Classes continued albeit nobody seemed interested, and every once in a while a student was called out of the hall to meet someone.
Jungwon furrowed his eyebrows at that? Why was everyone going out? He figured that it must have been police officers coming to take statements about the incident yesterday. But…. wouldn't they just interview those who were actually close to Jake? Why go and talk to every single student? Surely that wouldn't make sense.
Jungwon's school was by no means pretentious or royal. But it wasn't low maintenance either. The school had a mixed genre of students of all classes, not that it really made a difference.
The school had it's patriarchy of its own and it was as cliche as it could be. The energy carried out by all the students was enough to figure out which rank each one of them stood in and it wasn't a pretty sight, being evaluated in a place that's meant to be comforting and safe.
And with that patriarchy Jungwon knew unfortunately, with much experience that Jake certainly stood at the top. Coming to the conclusion that his parents must have been rich enough to hire investigators to look into. Without actually meaning to, Jungwon had missed the mixed glances of suspicion and pity thrown at him each time a student came back from wherever they were called to.
Soon enough Jungwon's name was called, his presence needed in the school counselor's office. Every step that Jungwon took towards the office felt like an impending sense of doom that now he knows for sure that is fucked.
Taking two deep breaths his shaky hands tightly wrapped onto the door. The sound was barely noticeable but the person inside noticed it anyway and a femenine voice had called him in.
Jungwon opened the door to find a kind looking woman in a business suit smiling at him and motionging him to take a seat. Fisting his hands he sat on the cold chair, his eyes darting to anywhere but her. Observing the surroundings. If he looked hard enough he could see the slight and subtle changes that took place in the office. The previous counselor's certificates had been taken out and replaced with new ones now holding the name, Amelia, who was without a doubt the woman sitting in front of him.
When Jungwon made no attempt to introduce himself- or even make eye contact with her, the school counselor had taken up in herself to make her presence noted by clearing her throat loudly. Only then did Jungwon tear his eyes away from the walls to look at her.
The woman smiled sadly and placed a hand on top of Jungwon's. Jungwon internally cringed. He absolutely dreaded physical touch. He had to bite back from pulling his hand away so the poor woman wouldn't feel embarrassed.
"Hello Jungwon," the woman said, her mellow voice that was supposed to have been comforting and sweet just put Jungwon more on edge and he stiffened his entire body up. His feet were rapidly tapping the ground fighting off the itch to run away from her. Rather than what is supposed to be a "therapy" session all Jungwon felt was that with any time now he would be questioned for everything that he was hiding. He hoped that the new counselor wouldn't notice the slight sheen of sweat coating his face and neck or the nervous tongue biting.
"Jungwon…." The woman continued her face now slightly impatient but still kind, "I know that by now you're well aware of the incident yesterday. I'm here to talk about it and offer any assistance I can to prevent something like that happening again."
Jungwon's head snapped at that, "Pardon?"
Miss Amelia still wore the same expression but now she looked slightly confused, "Jungwon dear…..you must know that yesterday the cause of the incident regarding the young boy Jake was aforementioned suicide"
It was a surprise that Jungwon hadn't bitten his lip off. His anxiety at the one word seemed to have grown tenfold. He didn't even stop to think that people might have regarded this as suicide at all. His eyes blurred as he unwantedly recalled last week's memory.
_______________________________________________________
Jungwon had been going back to school late in the evening. He had gone home early but came back again hoping the lights wouldn't be off so soon as he had forgotten his assignment at school. He trudged carefully not wanting to look suspicious that he was in school after hours.
It was there that he had seen Jake, perhaps he was the last person to ever see him but he did. Jake was looking amused at a supposed text on his phone laughing at it before putting it in his pocket. He removed a cap and mask from his face and put it on looking side by side before leaving the school.
Jungwon could really care less about what Jake was doing and where he was going , but as he recalled ever since the day Jake went missing he couldn't miss the panic when he remembered the direction where Jake was headed to was none other than the well, where his body would be found exactly a week later.
_______________________________________________________
"Jungwon?" The woman interrupted his train of thoughts. The grip on Jungwon's hand had been tightened and he cursed himself when he realised that he had zoned out and had been shaking.
"Is there something you would like to tell me?"
"No, nothing at all."

This was an interesting read. Thought I'd give my perspective on OP's comments as well as my own feedback on the show/the guys. Gotta keep in mind that some part of what we saw in the Safe House was acting.
Luke - OP mentions Luke comes across as "bro-ey." I could not feel any different. IMO, Luke seemed like he was just trying to find a place to fit in on that cast. I've watched his YouTube content and have seen clips of him hanging out with his friends and he just seems like an open-minded, kindhearted guy. I really liked Luke in Safe House and only wish he was more included in the main shenanigans. He seemed a bit distant from the others until Tay arrived.
But to comment on OP's mention of Luke seeming "bro-ey," I honestly feel that's just code for too American. There's nothing in the way he acted on the show that would lead me to conclude that he's a frat boy type. I can only assume that the way he talks and looks (very western, embodying western male beauty standards) is what leads OP to this conclusion.
Khaotung - Blended into the background to me. I guess I never realized how introverted he is because, admittedly, I haven't seen much of him outside of his roles.
Gun - These days Gun feels a little more reserved. Years back, he was always smiling and playing around with someone but on Safe House (and honestly in other things too) he seems to have closed that side to him off. That said, he definitely embodied the phi role in the house and it was interesting to see that side to him.
Earth - Not sure what to feel about Earth after Safe House. I thought it was interesting that the other guys all seemed to hover around him a bit? Well really he and Mix. They seemed to form sort of an 'in crowd' and I found that very interesting. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Earth gives off an effortless cool vibe. Don't know what to feel about some things he was alleged to have said to Mix (didn't see them myself so I can't comment). All in all, after Safe House, I'm not sure if I have more interest in Earth or not though.
Pond - Pond is Pond. Literally from his social media posts to interviews to Safe House, he is the same exact person every time. He embodies Aquarius energy more so than Luke and even Neo.
Phuwin - The baby energy was very strong with Phuwin. Not much to say but that he came across as an ambivert with little issue carrying a conversation with any one person in the house.
Tay - I mean this in the best possible way; what the fuck goes on with Tay. He's like always on 1,000 when everyone else is on 12. This is how I know he's a decent actor because I only see Tay get wild like that on select reality shows. Either way, it gets me excited to see him in more series where he can show more of his range. I need him to play a father next. If Gun has nurturing parent energy, Tay has corny dad energy.
Mix - Mix just has a very home-y feeling to him (not to be confused with "homie feeling") that I think just put the other guys at ease. He seems a bit vulnerable at times (yet still completely confident/in control) and it comes off well on screen. It was cute seeing him be very affectionate with all the guys but especially seeing his interactions with the guys I've never seen him hang around before. Seriously, I walked away from Safe House seeing it very strongly for LukeMix. The chemistry was just palpable and Luke seemed to genuinely care when Mix's feelings were hurt. I wouldn't mind seeing them co-lead a romance, and I may even write the story myself lmao.
Neo - I truly think that what we saw with Neo is who he is to some extent. He's very fun and I think the other guys were very much drawn to him because it's like he doesn't have to try to be entertaining. I think people see his genuineness and are attracted to it.

I know a lot of other blogs and some of the general public (you can find stuff on the Deuxmoi and Popheads subreddits) think rad Louie sabotage theories are just as full of shit as Larry tinhatting. As a new fan of Louis from the geNeraL pubLic (didn't know a thing about one direction aside from wmyb lmao and never used Tumblr/Twitter, found Louis through his Two of Us bucketlist vid) I just wanted to tell ya that I really respect your blog and can see why y'all Louies feel the way you do. The main reason I sought out your blog was because after watching some interviews/reading articles to understand all those weird comments under Louis' music videos, I thought it was hella suspicious that Louis gave that 2017 interview with Dan Wooton after Wooton wrote all that shit blaming Louis for the hiatus and spewing blatantly defamatory horsecrap. You'd either have to be spineless or sabotaged to agree to give that interview even if the stuff in that article were true, and as kind as he is, Louis ain't no jellyfish. Ended up looking for people on Tumblr bc at first the idea of "sabotage" admittedly sounded wild and knew that Tumblr is one of the few places on the internet where ideas like that fly. Idk what the point of this was. Just letting ya know that like non-stan regular fans appreciate what you have to say too. <3
Hello,
Thank you for contacting me.
Definitely take everything you read in fandom with a grain of salt. After being in fandom for a few years, I realize that nearly nothing is as it seems. Fans are encouraged to believe in certain canonical truths (even anti-canons have their own strict gospel) and to proselytize to new fans. Social media is a psychological mirage that trades “insider info” and popularity for credibility. Published media also have their own biases and points of view. Negotiating all of this is a real education!
I admit that I have biases and assumptions too. I don’t know any of the One Direction members or anyone associated with them.
And I know what the public perception of Tumblr blogs are like, and One Direction blogs in general.
After many years in the fandom, reading other fandoms’ blogs and seeing some patterns of fandom lore, I can definitely appreciate the GP perception that there is a lot of paranoid thinking and logical fallacy going on.
Fandom shouldn’t be like this. It should be mostly happy and fun, mostly about enjoying the creative arts, making friends, going to concerts, shitposting and making memories.
But fans can’t ignore the fact that social media makes fans a commodity. We directly sell artists to each other… and in One Direction’s case (even post-hiatus), it’s huge sums of money— hundreds of millions of dollars. After ten years, surely 1DHQ knows very well what sells and what doesn’t. And as consumers, surely we should better understand what we are consuming, and what illusions we have, and how other fans try to influence us.
Since the target of the consumerism is often young women, just as in fashion and cosmetics, with the underlying message often aimed at our insecurities— equating our lack of desirability with a lack of usefulness— we should understand the message of songs like Woman or Only Angel or Kiwi or Watermelon Sugar, shouldn’t we? And we should understand why corporations want us to desire something that makes us feel less adequate and less confident, or why corporation engage in race baiting and rainbow capitalism when it’s convenient for them.
Larries always used to look at entertainment history closely and demand fairness and equality. It has been an exercise in disappointment that the current focus seems entirely to focus on the sexuality of two men.
There are smart Larries, honestly. They can use logic and check facts as well as any Louie, as well as any general public fan, like you. The more one thinks about it, the less Louis’ career makes sense in many, many ways. And there are, of course, many precedents in the entertainment industry, of artists deliberately held back. The tragedy is that it’s not expedient for anyone to speak up.
At least Louie UAs aren’t publishing anonymous receipts lmao?
So again, thanks for the message. It is appreciated.

Here's Every Game, Movie & TV show I Love...
01. Dreamworks: I'm not the biggest fan of everything this company produces but I'd say I love about 90% of everything they have made. Some examples are things like How To Train Your Dragon, Voltron, She-Ra, Kung Fu Panda, Tales of Arcadia, Spirit: Stallion of The Cimarron and Road to El Dorado.
02. Studio Ghibli: This is a fairly new one to me, I've seen a handful of their movies but damn I love every single one of them so far!!
03. Disney: In this category I'm primarily talking about the animated movies here, things like Treasure Planet, Alice in Wonderland, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and most of those types of movies.
04. Wizarding World: This one is touchy but I can't deny I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and other related stories. However, I do not agree with or support the views and opinions JK Rowling has apparently stated (I've never seen the interview where all this went down).
05. Middle Earth: This is Obviously talking about The Hobbit, Lord of The Rings and all other related stories.
06. DC Multiverse: Admittedly I am not very knowledgeable on DC properties but I grew up watching Batman Brave & The Bold, Christopher Reeves Superman and I am loving the CW networks Arrowverse.
07. Star Wars: I love all Star Wars equally, end of story lol.
08. Marvel Multiverse: This is probably the biggest one I'm into, I lover everything that's related to Marvel but my absolute favourite Marvel property is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
09. Elder Scrolls: I'm primarily talking about Skyrim because that's the only one I've ever gotten to play but overall I love the elder scrolls
10. Sonic The Hedgehog: I'm still pretty new to this fandom and my only experience with this franchise is from the 2022 film, Sonic Racing and Smash Bros.
11. Legend of Spyro: This is something I've been a fan of since I was old enough to know the difference between a square, circle and triangle!! I love that little purple dragon more than you could ever know lol.
12. Legend of Zelda: Okay who isn't a fan of Zelda after Breath of the Wild? But I do love the franchise more than just that game alone.
13. Legend of The Bionicle: Bionicle is one of those fandoms that I got into as a child and slowly lost interest in since I couldn't collect the toys anymore but I am still VERY interested in the universe and the lore surrounding the G1 Bionicle franchise.
14. Legend of Aang & Korra: As much as I believe this series is over hyped a little too much these days, I can't deny that it's a great franchise that I absolutely love and adore!!
15. Pokémon: I'm into strategic play by any standard, I play the games and choose my team depending on how much I love the Pokémon visually lol.
16. Assassins Creed: I didn't get to play many of the original games and I don't have much free time as an adult but I do love the newer games and respect the older ones for what they were, Valhalla is definitely my favourite though haha.
17. Ratchet & Clank: Ah the memories I have of playing this game, both new and old... I honestly couldn't fault this series even if I tried except for the handheld ports but we don't talk about them, it's seriously that good lol.
18. Skylanders: Apparently you either HATE this franchise or LOVE it and that's it... well I actually went from one extreme to other, I hated the game because I thought it a straight up rip off of Spyro but then I educated myself and my little brother got a starter set for Christmas and I now I love it because of all the memories I have of playing it with him and now I have all our Skylanders displayed in a glass case lol.
19. Horizon Zero Dawn: Okay these games are just freaking awesome!! Like there's ROBOTS and they are in the shape of DINOSAURS!!! Talk about a million dollar idea, and Aloy is just a god damn icon 😍
20. Tomb Raider: I actually don't much about this franchise outside the trilogy that came out a few years ago but yeah I love that trilogy and find all the stories really interesting and suspenseful.
21. Halo: This is so weird but I've never owned an X-Box or any Halo games but damn do those games look a lot of fun!! I've had to live vicariously through YouTube streamers and the various Halo movies that have come out, so once I can afford it I'll definitely be buying Halo Infinite.
22. Yu-Gi-Oh: Okay I wouldn't say I'm an active fan of this series but I do love the original series and 5D's the thing is I'm more just a fan of the lore of the series and love the artwork on the cards.
23. Beyblade Metal: Growing up this is probably the first anime I really got hooked on and I still love Beyblades themselves but I don't have time to watch the new series or have much interest in it... also this series is essentially basic physics lessons for kids and that in itself is cool lol.
24. Supernatural: Ghosts, spirits, monsters, demons and mythology of various cultures all rolled into one story focused on two dumbass brothers... what's not to love?
25. Dragonball: Imma be straight with you, I don't like the original Dragonball, don't like Dragonball Z, Dragonball Kai or GT. I tried to watch them but I just... can't... I only really like Dragonball Super and that's it... sorry to any hard-core dragonball fans out there.
26. TMNT: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES! HEROS IN A HALF SHELL! TURTLE POWER!! Haha how can you not love these idiots? Not the biggest fan of the newer stuff but that's because I'm not the target audience, other than that, love it all!!
27. Deltora Quest: This is literally the book series that got me interested in reading books! Like there's a magic belt made of gemstones and crystals, a medieval fantasy setting and dark force about to conquer the land!! What's not to get excited about lol
28. Transformers: Lol these guys are just cool, this franchise is about as interested in cars as I'll ever be haha.
29. Sabans Power Rangers 2017: This movie needs a post of its own because I don't like Power Rangers in the normal sense but this movie is weirdly special to me... stay tuned.
30. Game of Thrones: Yes I like this show, no I don't hate the last season, yes I wish I had my own gigantic fire breathing lizard lol.
31. Ben 10: I know this is a weird one, but once you know how weird I am, it'll make sense... this is my forever show, I'll never be able to get enough of this thing I even have my own functional Omnitrix... "functional" meaning it's digital with a rotating dial and around 90 alien icons on it.
32. Once Upon a Time: This show is sentimental to me more than anything else, it's the show I grew up watching with my mother, it's our thing.
33. Arthurian Legend: Never thought you'd see this one huh? Lol guess again! Okay at first I was going to right I'm a fan of the "The Adventures of Merlin" TV show but then I realised I also like the mini series staring Sam Neill and then I realised I also love almost any other interpretation of Merlin, King Arther and the Knights of The Round Table lol
34. Umbrella Academy: Lol this franchise is just cool... nuff said.
35. Dungeons & Dragons: This damn game infuriates the living hel out of me while simultaneously gives me so much joy, fun and laughter which I feel sums up most people's experiences with this game.
36. The Last of Us: I don't know what it us about this game because I'm not normally into the horror genre but just everything about these these games just calls to me lol
37. Dragon Prince: I discovered this universe purely by accident I was simply looking for a way to keep my baby brother entertained and it turned out the stories and relationships they unfolded her entertained me far more than I could've realised lol.
38. Charmed: Sometimes I wonder if I only like this show because I grew up watching it with my mother but then I watch it again and I realise it's one of the few life drama shows that actually make sense lol

Episode 2 is here! Whooooo 🥳🥳🥳💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Anyway, my thought for this episode is they are awesome. Period. Lol 😁😁😁 I keep laughing and seriously, hearing Grayson's embarrassed voice (and yass, Grayson did acknowledge that was his embarrassed voice and I live for it) is really as good as watching it lol. Also, love to know when the twins get embarrassed (or i guess even when it was just one of them in Grayson's case xD) they just huddle up, in embarrassment, and my god why is that so cute wtf 🥺💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
As always, they spread positivity all around and I live for that. They started off with talking about the thing with Ethan's acne, giving us more of the backstory and details, also Grayson's 'older brother' slip (I can imagine Ethan's indignation at that moment lol) and his protectiveness (still love that though, and he did it pretty right, not butting in until he really felt he had to and getting Ethan's permission and not acting immediately on his feeling, no matter how noble).
The blacklisted thing, I had seen it before, someone showed it, but at first I honestly thought it was like a joke thing? Like an edit or something, pretending like it was an actual tea because the content was so absurd to me and my first reaction, for real, was to laugh. Or maybe a troll with too much time on their hands? I dunno. I just didn't take it seriously. Then I knew it was actually a serious thing and not a joke, and I thought 'huh, someone there was probably rude first and someone somewhere likely blew it out of proportion, or it was like that weird game of telephone where the last person's retelling was nowhere near the first person's at all' So, glad to know my guess wasn't too far off.
The way they were telling it, I think whatever the talk show was, it was likely they were hoping to get some 'exclusive' on the people they collab-ed in the past, either James Charles or Jefree Star, or some other I guess, since they are kind of like a prime source of information on a lot of Drama. I think that was why the show blindsided them and wanting to talk about them as Youtubers instead of Entrepeneurs because YT thing has more drama, more likely to get viewers, and them just turning their back in it, I think, was right. Not very professional, I'm also not sure about the ethicality, but they were there to promote their fragrance and Wakeheart, not their channel, but the show wanted to focus on their YT instead and it was understandable they would rather just leave. It probably would've been a different story if they had kept their focus on Wakeheart and then asked a bit on their YT channel, maybe just as a fun intro or segway inti the Wakeheart stuff. For some reason I was kind of reminded of RDJ's own interview where he walked out when the interviewer was asking questions that has nothing to do with the movie he was promoting.
Of course, this was just from their side. Who knows, maybe their publicist had explained things to them kind of badly and maybe they just wanted to ask a little on their YT (though I guess from 10 questions to 1 on was hint enough how not interested the studio was in their career as entrepreneurs and much more interested in their YT and the people in it that they never speak out about and drama despite seemingly knows a lot).
Anyway, I love them talking about things that happened in the past. Like that thing that happened when they filmed the billboard prank, the thing with them getting called jerks and all. Like we got an actual backstory and I love it. Also the TRL thing, which I admittedly didn't remember which episode Grayson was talking about until later, but yeah, I can imagine the mortification. Knowing Grayson did that on purpose was nice to know, though. 😂😂
I think I have more thoughts, but I'll stop here. Can't wait for next week already 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Thank you so much for listening to my ask. Part of why I didn't unfollow is because I do like you as a person/writer. Maybe thats the problem for me - broadening horizons. I'm even a bit afraid to watch popular stuff like Schitts Creek, Anne With An E, Brooklyn 99, etc because its not my usual taste in TV (sadly i go for alot of not well written CW shows). I've seen Skam on my dash too. I've always been so scared of change and branching out, its just easier to only try new stuff that I (cont..)
+ ...have personally handpicked for myself. Music hasn't ever resonated with me where I need to look up interviews and past stuff - even in the hype of my 1D fangirl phase back in high school where I was practically in love with all of them. I'm also admittedly really bad at subtext, especially gay subtext, so probably wouldn't grasp inner band shipping either (i know you posted a fic once that was an inter-BTS ship). I'm also just scared of falling into anything headfirst. Thanks for the advice
I’m really glad to hear that you like me as a person/writer enough to put up with bts! That means a lot that you came (or at least stayed lol) for more than just shadowhunters!
I think that it can be really intimidating to throw yourself into something new, even if you’ve heard a lot about it and even if you are almost certain you’ll enjoy it. It seems like a lot of effort yeah? And there’s always a risk that you’ll end up wayyy over-investing yourself when you just wanted something casual. Or, on the flip side, you hate it and feel like you wasted your time and brain cells and the whole thing just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
There’s nothing wrong with trying though! It might be scary or something but maybe watching just a music video, only the first episode. Telling yourself that’s as far as it has to go because then you’ve satiated your curiosity and don’t have to continue if you don’t want to! And hey-- there’s nothing wrong with enjoying CW shows. Goodness knows I have fallen into obsession with more than my fair share of shows from that network. As long as you enjoy it-- what does anything else matter? That’s a v big point we’re circling here. You shouldn’t feel pressured to branch out if you don’t want to. You don’t have to love what everyone else loves-- hell, you don’t have to try something just because everyone is raving about it. As long as you like your interests and are content with them is all that’s important at the end of the day!
Music is another animal altogether. I was never really into music until 5sos and I’ll admit, that’s how I really got into ao3. I consider 5sos my first real fandom in all those messy ways-- like reading fic and being part of a gc and watching every video I could get my hands on, and just generally consuming as much content as possible. I fully realize that’s not a category of fandom that everyone would enjoy but, speaking for me, falling into bts was v reminiscent of falling for 5sos-- including, yes, reading fic between members (I will acknowledge that for 5sos it was a v messy journey that I think is very much connected to what would become my coming out. For bts however, I happen to think all the members have great chemistry and I v much enjoy them as people which translates well to reading about them in various stories. It also makes my little gay heart warm.)
I can’t give you steps to follow or concrete advice. I suppose I can just encourage you to try something out of your comfort zone-- just a piece, like an episode of schitt’s creek or b99 (they’re only 20 minutes! I will attest that both shows are fabulous) but at the end of the day, I just hope you don’t feel pressured to stay up on all this pop culture shit. There’s never gonna be a test about how much you know about these shows and music. Like I said, as long as you’re happy with what you’re consuming, everything else can fuck off. Diving into something new can be very exciting and when that something has a little extra edge-- like a show from another country or a band that speaks another language-- it can definitely challenge you but by no means do you have to fall headfirst into anything.
And if you do? That’s all the more exciting and wonderful to gain a new lovely interest!!

#1: (Finding out about Larry anon again. Although I don't know if my other messages actually sent so if you didn't get it just tell me). I'm still bummed out about Larry. I genuinely thought Larry was a made-up ship that fans were obsessively delusional over and I made the mistake of watching their videos and I'm so sad, as terrible as it sounds, to see how close they were. There's a difference between regular bromances, like Ziam, or Lirry, (I wouldn't consider Zouis a bromance because they
never really play up their relationship. Actually they don’t show much of it to the public eye) and Larry. In 2011 to early 2013, they seemed REALLY close. Always touching, always staring, always having sexual innuendos. Sure, maybe that seems like nothing because the other guys do that, but there’s a difference. You can tell when the other guys do it (including Louis and Harry to other people, not each other) that they have the intention of playing around and not meaning anything. Like when Harry went over to Zayn with his candy thong and Zayn bit in right next to his crotch? A joke. 100% funny joke that they honestly would not even think about later or just think anything of it. The guys groping each other, Liam tackling Zayn on stage, the guys saying they’d date each other, kissing each other on cheeks? Hot, but a joke. Nothing serious, nothing actually holding any real meaning behind it other than the fact that it’s funny for guys to be gay with each other for some strange reason. And I just, maybe because I just love Zayn/Louis so much, but I never really took Larry seriously until watching all these non-edited moments of them and literally the majority of them were just private moments. They literally never had any platonic moments. Every moment would be used as a sexual innuendo opportunity, or little tiny winks or touches behind the table or small whispers of sexual flirtation. I just don’t get it? There’s so much I can’t even understand. There’s so many things that can’t be marked as a coincidence. And trust me, I know Larries can be extreme and sometimes make everything about Larry (though that’s usually after 2013 to now). But in 2012, I just can’t wrap my head around it. I don’t like it. Why were they so close? Why did they genuinely flirt, and I actually mean it, actual flirtation (most times actually private and not drawn attention to). Am I missing something? They were so close and suddenly they just stopped? I don’t get it? Either the fans made them uncomfortable with their whole pushing and obsessiveness which explains why they didn’t really interact at all for the next three years (unless they did act like regular and people are over-exaggerating) and they were still close off-camera or they just grew up and honestly just weren’t that close anymore? I have to ask, since I’m assuming you’ve been in the fandom for a while. Did Larry hang out a lot off work together like Zouis in later years? Or was it just in interviews and concerts that they seemed close and they actually weren’t as close as people make them out to be? Which would mean they all were fairly equal in closeness and Larry were just playing in interviews and when there were no cameras around, they weren’t actually that close? have to admit though, when Zayn and Louis were asked if they were in a relationship together, they put their arms around each other’s shoulders and had no problems saying that they were not together. No hesitations, no struggles, nothing. When Louis is questioned, he always says “fans /genuinely/ believe we’re in a relationship, and he always seems walk around the question and struggles? I don’t like the idea of them being together. don’t know. It just bums me out. But were they together? Ever? Or was it just for fun and they really have no interest in each other? I just feel strange because there honestly seemed to be something there in the beginning. But I like Zouis :/
I’m so sorry I haven’t responded back to you sooner, babes. However, I did receive your other messages. I’ve just been a little off my game lately, so do forgive me. I’m sorry you’ve been hit with some conflicting thoughts regarding the dynamics of Zayn, Louis, and Harry’s relationships. I really cant tell you what to think one way or another, gorgeous. It’s ultimately your call how you assess it. Just bear in mind there’s a lot more to a friendship than the stuff we see at the surface, so be conscious of that. We only see a fraction of them and how they interact, so I don’t think we could get a really fair assessment of their relationships in their entirety with the little we see or know.
Admittedly, I don’t often discuss Louis and Harry’s relationship too often on here, simply because it attracts a certain kind of attention I’m not necessarily interested in bringing on to my blog. Just to clarify, I’m not into tinhatting, simply put. Any discussions I make about the boys, I speak in metaphoricals and from a place of figuratives rather than solid fact. And I’m sure you do too. I value Louis and Harry’s friendship, as anyone would, but I think the innocence and harmlessness in it has far surpassed its boundaries. They used to be great in public, and didn’t often think too much of policing themselves, so you did see cheeky moments where they joked around and had their fun, not thinking it would be microanalyzed the way it had. They literally were roommates at one point. So of course there was an air of comfort there; there’s no denying that.
However, *I* myself have never really conformed with the idea that Louis and Harry’s interaction were somehow deeper than any of the others. I think it should be known that videos like the ones you’ve mentioned often rely on a little bit of a manipulation tactic in telling you to focus so intently on that *one* particular subject matter or that *one* particular moment, and disregard anything else other ships do similarly that would ‘disprove‘ it, so to speak. Its like putting on horse blinders, and telling you to focus on what they want you to see right ahead; don’t bother looking off the right where so-and-so are doing something as cheeky. They’ve all made comments, they’ve all had their moments of cheekiness with one another, and they’ve all built personal relationships outside of what would be considered work obligations, but there’s an odd double-standard that I myself don’t quite understand. When so-and-so do something, its almost instantly written off as ‘a joke’ or ‘a bromatic moment’, but Louis and Harry doing it is automatically branded as something more? Like I said, darling, I don’t get it. And I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you, but that’s just me.
Obviously I cant see the ‘Larry” that others may see, but then again, plenty of people cant see, or choose not to, see the Zouis I see either. Louis and Harry had far less to worry about being interactive and friendly in their younger days because back then, it was still being treated more as a joke, or a figurative thing, a nice concept. But somewhere along the way, the lines got blurred and things got far less innocent and playful, prominently in how the fans reacted to it. Things had to change because at that point, Larry’s interactions didn't just have an impact on them. In fans heralding Larry moments, their real partners—of whom they've publicly declared they were dating—often got harassed. Family, friends, partners, staff. I’d venture to say Louis and Harry didn't think this would be the adverse reaction to them joking with one another.
This is all over the place and I left it on a really open, ambiguous note with no right answer to tell you, because I don't think there is a solid answer here. Feel how you want to about the ships you want. I don't see Larry in a profoundly deeper way that some may want me to, but that's just my outlook and I cant explain why. Louis’ relationship with Zayn is different than Louis’ relationship with Harry, which is different than Harry’s relationship with Niall, and so on. All are valued in such unique ways, and all boys have personal connections and a certain love for one another. That’s just how they are. They were uninhibited, they were shamelessly endeared by one another, and as a dear friend of mine on here says (shoutout @alligatornyc), they're practically made in a lab. Because their big ot5 love fest is so unexplainable, but works so incredibly well. I'm sorry this answer is shit, babes, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Continue loving Zouis. Continue appreciating Larry. Hell, maybe even check out some Narry, if that tickles your fancy. But don't feel like you need to place one ship over another; they're all different, but equally as meaningful.
