I think my favorite genre of post ironic surreal internet humor is pseudo horror, and I don’t mean shitty schizoposter memes with anime girl gore art or heavily edited troll faces in them. I mean stuff like the grimace shake meme or Molly Moon or subreddits like and r/internet_funeral (less memey/horror-y but still rly good) or YouTube channels like Pamtri. (welcome Reddit refugees, btw!!) something about them are so viscerally hilarious yet still seems to capture that feeling of being a kid falling down a weird internet rabbit hole.
