Got any tips for someone trying to homebrew a dnd game... in space?

at the risk of sounding incredibly bitchy, I simply would not homebrew DnD for space. there are a LOT of sci-fi trpgs, depending on what kind of experience you're looking for, that are imo much easier to deal with than trying to homebrew DnD for a setting it's not really good at. if you've got an idea of what kind of sci-fi you'd like to do, I'd be happy to recommend some games.

Orchid: what’s a song you consider to be perfect?

Uhhhhh idfk tbh. I'm gonna go with Hopes and Dreams from the Undertale soundtrack because I scrolled down one of my playlists and that's the first one I could find that spoke to me [shrug emoji]

Mahonia: what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?

I would say animated movies inspire me the most, tbh. I don't know why I don't watch more, nowadays - I just don't have the time I guess. But nothing gets me more emotional and inspired than a good animated movie - or even a kind of subpar one.

Hiking also inspires me, especially in the mountains and big hills. I just love being out in nature in all its glory.

Another thing is probably just... seeing other artists. Little animated shorts on YouTube. Webcomics. Drawings on Twitter and Tumblr and Instagram. I really appreciate seeing art and I think that's why I like the furry community so much - it's so art-centric.

As for how I express myself, idk, I usually just draw or (sometimes) paint? Occasionally I'll write, usually journal, but sometimes work on fic, and rarely, I'll make up a few lyrics and a partial tune for a song. I've never completed a song, though, except for one.

Camellia: what were you like when you were younger? do you think you’ve changed a lot?

I mean, all I wanted to do as a kid was Die For The Lord (tm) To Prove My Worth To Him, and also live in the wilderness with wolves (lol), and also run away and maybe die or find a new identity. But I was also a lot less... inhibited? And would kind of just do and say whatever (like run around on all fours howling and/or biting a classmate). I was a REALLY anxious kid, too, just in like a constant unrelenting anxiety attack about the looming apocalypse/Tribulation/Hell/etc. I think I've chilled out a bit about that - I still feel like the world's ending (in a different, slower, less Biblical way) but I've like, somewhat made my peace with it now?

My mental health has improved substantially since high school and the first handful of years of my young adulthood. Things aren't exactly great right now, but I'm not actively suicidal or delusional for the first time in nearly a decade which is pretty amazing. I think I've changed a lot in that respect. I was a fucking miserable and utterly hopeless teenager and I'm still kind of healing from it. Like, I'm jealous of kids who got to get hospitalized for mental health reasons as teenagers, and that's with me fully knowing how fucked up and unhelpful the MH system is.

I just... wish I had had the privilege of being somewhere safe from myself instead of hiding everything I was going through from everyone I knew, even my best friends. I feel this weird wave of jealousy when I hear stories of people who got help and attention as teenagers. Sometimes I just desperately wish I could have had that, even though it's partially my fault for hiding it all.

I've gotten better about the hiding, but it's still so, so hard for me to share shit.

My views on pretty much everything have changed substantially, I mean, I was a conservative fundamentalist Christian for the better half of my life and now I'm... whatever the hell branch of leftist agnostic heathenry I am now.

Idk. I'm basically a totally different person now, aside from my love for animals and art. That's the only thing that hasn't changed, really.
