While we're talking about discourse, I want to make sure everybody's on the same page here that like, sometimes you disagree with people on the internet. Sometimes violently. I have seen political opinions I find repugnant show up on my twitter, people have said things about my favourite characters that I want to scream ARE YOU EVEN PAYING ATTENTION at, people have been downright cruel in my presence and I want to vengefully go throw my water at them. A voice in your head at that point is like "you should go send a nasty anon to them".

That is the devil talking.

Like take that literally if you want, or metaphorically, but like, I have been on this internet for over a decade, and I have never seen anything good come out of rage-engaging with stuff that hurts/annoys you. Absolute best scenario is that the person you send the angry message to finds it funny and laughs at it with friends. Worse case scenarios include SWATing, suicide, people shoved back into the closet, mental health breathdowns, people losing their employment, people losing their housing— like the failure cases for engaging in anger on the internet are very very bad.

If you see something that makes you see red— happens! we all see bad takes sometimes!— the thing to do here is Block and then go like watch a favourite video or something. Do not send hate anons, do not send hate anons+ (what on EARTH people think they're contributing to the world by sending gore and porn I don't know), do not for the love of god start doxxing people (that is literally the tool of the enemy, that is what the transphobic hate mobs do, do not do that), do not engage further. Like every website lets you block people, block them and vent to the group chat if neccessary and go watch something to get your heart rate back down.

This includes people doing things you think is inappropriate to/about your streamer, this includes people stanning a guy you think is harmful, this includes harry potter stans pushing TERFdom. Report them if they're breaking TOS, and then Block, and then go watch a kitten video or something. Boosting them to your followers to dunk on them just gives their bad takes more views, and it makes everybody angry, and nothing good comes of it. Starve them of attention and go do something else. Bad takes specifically about poverty? Go donate to the food bank. Horribly racist about immigrants? Go write your MP about increasing the refugees we take in. Dismissive of a real life bad thing your streamer is going though? Go buy streamer stickers/look at good fan art. I cannot overemphasise how Nothing Good comes of feeding the anger monster on the internet. If I can impart anything from having lived through muliple mobbing-on-the-internet cycles it is this.

Q: What's your turnaround rate?

Q: Can I make edits to my commission after I receive it?

A: Sure! I don't really care, it's yours after all. I just ask that you specify that any edits you make are by you when reposting or sharing the edited picture. (Ex: "This picture was a commission done by necro-hamster! He did the lineart, and I colored it in later.")

Q: Do you do deadlines?

A: Absolutely! If you want something done by a certain date, we can totally work something out. Depending on the deadline you're asking for, this may come with an extra fee. For instance, if you want something done in two days, and I have several other comms on my plate, I can bump you to the front of the list for a hefty fee. But, if you just ask me to finish something easy up by the end of the month, and I don't have much else piled up, I probably won't charge you.

alright you have me convinced!! what should i know before i watch indycar next season??

yooo i'm so glad i convinced you!! this is a pretty long post, and is kind of all-over the place. i tried to break it up by general topic, but i'm adding randomly as i think, so just a warning. i'll add some info links i like at the bottom. (if you or anyone wants to talk indy or f1, asks or dms are so very welcome, i love making friends <3)

one thing about indy is unlike in basically every else, many cars look very different even when on the same team as well as special liveries that are nothing like their normal ones, so i'd recommend getting the indycar app (it's free and user friendly once you figure out the weird layout) as it has a spotter's guide. it also has onboard cameras and radios for free (!!!!).

indycar is (usually) a pretty friendly sport, but as is the case with american sports, we like chaos, so the drivers can pretty much say anything except swear words lol. there's a few different clips of drivers threatening each other, which is great. id say most drivers are friends or at least acquaintances, expect santino ferrucci (huge bigot, pay driver, got kicked out of f2 for extremely dirty driving, and i personally hate his hair) and often romain grosjean as he hits people a lot. as for 2024 rookies, kyffin simpson's dad bought him his seat, and kyle larson saying the n-word in 2020 means he has some really, really racist fans.

the safety rules are strict and the cars are very durable which is good for high-speed crashes. the safety people (shoutout amr indycar safety team i love y'all, amr the company i hate you more than i hate the fia) travel with the races and have extensive training. they are also stationed in places that allow quick access to any location on a track. this is most apparent at ovals as they are much faster and more dangerous. at the other races, they are stationed where there is higher likelihood for a more dangerous crash that needs faster reactions. they take trucks to the site that are full of basically anything that might be needed. this is especially important as indycar refuels and are at high risk of combustion compared to f1. the calling yellow flags is also a lot more liberal which is nice. during longer yellows, and reds at ovals they'll run a sweeper truck to clean the racing line so people don't slide into walls.

for flag code info, as i don't have the patience to write it out, it is is section 7.2 of the rule book (page 27). i've linked it at the bottom of the post.

with the cars, they're all required to have the same chassis and aren't allowed to change a huge amount, so the racing is mostly down to skill, though andretti, ganassi, penske, and mclaren are better as they have more money. there are two engine suppliers, honda and chevrolet, iirc (don't quote me here) chevy is a bit more powerful, but honda is a bit more handleable. fast pit stops are usually about 7 seconds due to smaller pit crews (7 people maximum) and refueling. each car also has it's own pit box as teams have variable car numbers based on what they can afford. firestone provides tires, and there are two compounds, primary and alternate, as well as a wet tire. primaries are the harder compound and have a black sidewall. alternates are softer and have a red sidewall, except at street circuits where it's green to signify all natural rubber. use of both compounds are required. on broadcast you'll hear them mention "sticker reds" which are just the brand new ones.

more tire info in section 15 of the rulebook (page 84). there's some complex rules if you like tires.

the biggest difference between indy cars and f1 is f1 has power steering, indy doesn't. if you watch onboards, the drivers are wrestling the car the whole time, and most of the racing comes down to skill. the actual racing is often chaotic (indycar app helps with this. i keep it open always) and since there are many pit stops in a race (the cars use a lot of fuel) the leaderboard will change a lot.

the points system is very different, i'll try to cover it as succinctly as i can but i'm going to put a link for the wiki on it at the bottom anyway. (this is going to be formatted real weird, but i want to be brief). p1 50; p2 40; p3 35; p4 32; 4th-10th decreases by 2; p10 20; 10th-25th decreases by 1; everything p25 down is 5 points. drivers get points for finishing the race, basically. (unless there's more than 33 finishers, then 34 down get nothing, but that doesn't really happen). there's some bonus points also, 1 for leading a lap, 2 for most laps led, and 1 for pole position. the final bonus is for indy 500 qualifying. top 12 get points from p1 getting 12, descending by 1, to p12 getting 1.

as for the circuits there's three types: ovals (6 races, 4 tracks), roads (6 races, +1 non-championship race), and street (5 races). ovals are very high speed with little to no breaking. road courses are just your average circuit made for racing, the roads tend to be a bit rougher than f1's but that's kinda just how american tracks are. street circuits are, well, on the street. american roads suck major dick. the smoothest indycar street circuit is comparable to the worst of f1's. very bumpy, usually some good crashes (watch 2023 st. petersburg start. shit was insane).

as a fan, i cannot recommend irl indy more. some races are busier than others, obviously, but it's cheap considering it's a big racing category. 3 day entry for the less major races is usually $60-ish, and paddock passes are an additional $120-ish. not 100% on the price for pit access, but that is a bundle with three day tickets usually. the races aren't super crowded and there isn't assigned seats which is nice. the paddock is super open (check my "fenrir indycar" tag, quick access on my pinned) and you are able to walk up to and touch the cars if you really want (i wouldn't) as well as have conversation with engineers if they're not busy. if you have pit access the drivers are usually just wandering around and are often happy to stop and talk/sign something when not busy. there's also a high risk of nearly getting run over by drivers on their scooters. will power is notorious for this.

for my non-americans, (love y'all) we are very happy to have a conversation with strangers. the indy fans are often thrilled to talk about their favorite drivers and thoughts with anyone. when i went id say the only bad experiences i had was getting overwhelmed (my fault, i went to a place that i knew would cause a meltdown) and my dad getting hit twice by a man in a golf cart twice (same guy, not my dad's fault, the cunt didn't try to move, warn him, or apologize, just hit him, let my dad stumble, hit him again. i'm still mad). the seats are usually right on the track, so it's extremely loud and smelly. 10/10 can not recommend irl indy enough. i am biased to the pnw and it's the only race i've been to, but the portland race is great. it's not got masses of people, you can walk right up to the track to watch with the only thing between you and the cars being a concrete wall and a fence, and as it's a smaller race with less fans compared to the east coast and mid-west races, it's cheaper. biggest con is its built on a swamp, so super humid. (another pro, i'll be there <3 [joke.])

How did you come to Islam?

I am glad you asked!

So the year is 2018/2019, there abouts.

I made my first Muslim friend!

I found this out by asking the most terrible question I've ever asked anyone ever "hey since you have x name, does that mean you're Muslim.?"

He said yes. He was SUPER chill about me being like innocently racist. I still cringe about this exchange. I am currently cringing typing this all out.

But I was like 19/20, and racial etiquette was new to me.

Now, I knew nothing, and I mean NOTHING about Islam.

For quite a few years, it was just something my super cool "got me through my abusive relationship" online best friend practiced.

Iiiiiinnnnnnn 2022? Around there.

I was at Michael's, the crafts store, and there were these GORGEOUS stickers for Ramadan. I immediately sent a picture of them to him talking about how beautiful they were, lamenting about how I'd love to get them, but that would be cultural appropriation. I think he said it would be fine if I got them, but I still didn't get them, it didn't feel right because at the time I wasn't Muslim(obviously.)

Sometime later, it's Christmas and I'm in one of my "I need to start a business or else I'm always going to be in poverty" moods. Don't ask me why this was a thing, because I very clearly cannot produce enough of anything to run a business. Anyways. I'm thinking about making Christmas cards and then my brain goes "Well what if I make something for Muslims? I don't want to leave them out of things."

So I message my friend, asking if that would be okay.

He explains that Islam doesn't have a winter holiday like Christmas, that Muslims go off a lunar calendar and he tells me about Ramadan.

And I'm like "mhm. Okay. What's Ramadan?"

And so I spent the literal rest of the night (literally HOURS) researching Ramadan and Eid. I read THE ENTIRE wiki page for both /including/ the parts that explain the different ways different countries and regions celebrate Ramadan and Eid.

Fall 2023 I find out that what I thought was an Indian take out restaurant (because I get curry there don't hate me I was told it was an Indian place) was acting, specifically, a HALAL restaurant and I'm like "mhm. Okay. So what does that mean?"

And again, I spend hours on Google with those drop down "similar questions" just learning a little bit about Islam.

And like through these experiences I learn a basic principle that I have embodied since becoming Muslim "Islam is a religion of love and peace"

Come to 2024.

I think February. Really wanna say February. My sense of time and time keeping is really bad.

But it's the beginning of the year. I'm having a real ROUGH time of it. I'm having intrusive thoughts of self harm. I'm constantly being triggered by Tumblr because of the I/P conflict. I'm constantly triggered by trumblr because of talks of transphobia of kinds. I'm triggered by Tumblr because of the porn. My best friend is increasingly becoming a bad friend. IM NOT COPING. To the point I was hospitalized twice, and should have been a third time (thanks Brylin for never calling me back for that admission)

And through it all, I'm praying to the universe. I'm like, I'm lost, I'm suffering, I need some guidance. Please someone, anyone, give me a sign.

And there was this feeling.... this VERY distinct feeling. It was in my chest and in my belly. I can't really describe it other than light and energy radiating. Like a pulling feeling. It felt like a calling. And something inside me kept saying "turn to Islam. Turn to Allah."

I was apprehensive at first. Yknow, being a pagan witch at the time and all. It felt... well, why would Allah be calling to me.? I'm a pagan witch!

But I don't know. I won't lie and say I never found comfort in being pagan. But there's something.... different in Islam. I can sit and listen to the Quran and crochet and I just feel... at peace. I can watch videos discussing Islam and the thoughts usually racing in my head just... stop. I'm fascinated by Islamic history in a way that other periods in history haven't fascinated, /and I say this as someone who loves history/.

I will admit, there's part of me that doesn't feel good enough for Allah, for Islam. But then I remember how many times the Quran says "Allah is the most forgiving, the most merciful" and that's... that's what I need. Someone to forgive the parts of me that can't keep up because of my disability, and is understanding (see, merciful) for all the things I am not.

So tldr: basically I had a friend who started my interested and then Allah answered my prayers.

Why not hit up Antifa Australia and see if they know what's going in Brisbane? Or look for the next Permanent Revolution show in Brisbane and go!

It's hard to advise you on what to do when encountering a nazi one-on-one like that in ordinary life - too many variables we don't know of (what you're up for, who's around, etc.), all of which would factor in on "to confront or not to confront." The Baldies - who were the original anti-racist skinhead crew - had a policy in Minneapolis. If they ran into a nazi, they'd tell the nazi to lose all their nazi dogwhistles ASAP because the next time they were caught out in the street with them own, there was going to be a beating administered. So that's one option? One thing we would recommend is recording the information every time you spot a nazi in your area. Keep a note on your phone, or in the cloud, or somewhere, where you write down the date, time, location, description, and any other useful information (on their own or with others? What direction were they going? Do you know where they were heading to? Etc.). If you do that consistently - and if you coordinate doing that with friends (maybe via a shared doc in the cloud?), pretty soon you might start to see patterns of when nazis crawl out from under their rocks, when and where they're likely to be, etc. Suddenly, you have enough intel to plan some surprises for them! Maybe you go out the night before they're expected to turn up and plaster the area with anti-fascist posters and stickers.

Maybe you get some mates together and plan a little welcoming committee for them. The important thing is once you know their pattern of movement, you can start planning to fuck with them!

Link's Awakening HD!!! I love the art style of this game a lot and I hope the developers continue to make more HD remakes of the older games! As someone who played the oracle games before this one, this game improved a lot on playability and design so it was really nice breath of fresh air to not struggle against some of the rough aspects of those games (hardhat beetles). I wish I could've loved this game more, but as much as I enjoyed this game I still had issues with it (same with every Zelda game honestly :/).

Summary:

What an incredible remake. The opening and ending animations, the smooth gameplay, the amazing new remodels, wow. This was so charming. I am angry about the racist bosses and that did affect my score and I am just not excited to see them again when I play DX. (I know this is an issue throughout the whole Zelda franchise and even in my favorite games like OOT it frustrates me, esp since later games made some of these problems worse. But the 2D games were a lot better about their designs so it was just upsetting to see this in Link's Awakening, especially since this is a remake from 2019 and no one on the developers team thought it was a good idea to change the racist designs). Although I haven't played the original LA, I can say from my experience with the oracle games that this is an incredible improvement. Some enemies are absolutely the worst to fight in the pixel games and everything was just smoothed over and so much more enjoyable. I really hope they do remake the oracle games like this one because they're so fun and silly that I know my ratings of the game would increase with a contemporary redesign. Also what a cool story. Link, half dead, experiencing a dream world filled with early Nintendo figures. It's so unique and silly, I really enjoyed exploring the whole world. Nintendo should remake more old games and cut their shit out with these damn racist designs.

Okay yaaaaay ^_^ I'll start with alkakoid

So summary of the main story is that they're underachievers under the company starmaker and they're put into a unit together. Their goal is to make a large amount of money that's enough to get them into mdm, a big idol performance. Crazy:b kind of becomes a focus regarding plot but alkaloid are the pov pretty much.

Hiiro - Hiiro is from an Ainu hometown where his older brother Rinne is supposed to be the new chief but he runs away for good. After their dad is ill, Hiiro attempts to take Rinne back home because Hiiro was raised to agree with the majority and to serve his brother, so he doesn't know how to be the chief. Later on in the story, Rinne "disowns" him to give him freedom. Hiiro learns through the main story about how to adjust to society and what he wants to do instead of what other people say. In the process he gets along with alkaloid and considers them his close friends.

Aira - Aira's whole thing is that he loves idols and wants to be one. Throughout the main story though he feels inferior to the rest of alkaloid and thinks he's holding them down. He gets super jealous of Hiiro too because Hiiro doesn't know anything about idols compared to him but seems to be performing better than him. Ironically, Aira is supposed to have this whole thing about trying to be an average likeable boy because he's part French, but the writers decided to feel a little racist and made him very disrespectful to Hiiro sometimes along with finding Adonis intimidating and screaming when he sees him... for like no reason. If you hate him for this I don't blame you but I'll warn you AiraPs will not take kindly to that. They don't like when you address racism apparently.

Mayoi - my love!!! From what brief stuff he's told us, Mayoi has a deadly genetic disease that stopped him from going out much, so he homeschooled himself. He did attend yumenosaki, enstars' academy for idols, but he didn't attend any of the classes. I love this fact so much he lived underground. I'm not kidding. We get to see a room in his house at some point it's literally underground. We also know that his parents told him extremely terrifying stories about the Sakuma brothers, but we have literally no idea why or like any knowledge about his parents. Personality-wise, he is extremely skittish and scared of other people, and tends to hide himself in vents. He has incredibly low self esteem which causes himself to put himself down a lot of the time when he's talking to someone. He also gets intrusive thoughts about his cute looking juniors about protecting them from the world but he tries not to act on them.

Tatsumi - He has backstory that's multiple chapters worth, but a rough summary is that he attempted communism at his past academy, failed, permanently hurt his leg from an incident, and was later seen as a revolutionary. Other than that, Tatsumi is a mature and kind person, probably influenced by him being Christian. He's actually pretty lonely, so alkaloid are one of his first ever friends. Because he has no clue how to interpret that though he tries putting them into a nuclear family of sorts where he's the father figure, mayoi's the mother and hiiro and aira are the kids. I'm not saying alkaloid are a family but this a thing tatsumi does because he isn't used to having close friends.

A: Absolutely! So long as you aren't actively profiting directly from the commission by selling it (I.E., as stickers or on shirts), you can use it however you want! If you do want to use a commission for merchandise, we can work something out for that specifically.

Q: Can I make edits to my commission after I receive it?

A: Sure! I don't really care, it's yours after all. I just ask that you specify that any edits you make are by you when reposting or sharing the edited picture. (Ex: "This picture was a commission done by necro-hamster! He did the lineart, and I colored it in later.")

Q: Do you do deadlines?

A: Absolutely! If you want something done by a certain date, we can totally work something out. Depending on the deadline you're asking for, this may come with an extra fee. For instance, if you want something done in two days, and I have several other comms on my plate, I can bump you to the front of the list for a hefty fee. I have got to stop reading liberal publications because lately the slant they all take is The South (Especially Texas) is a horrible evil cesspit of fascism, and then you've got the Comments Section which I know you should never read chiming in about how yeah there are good people in Texas much the same way there were good people in Germany in 1933, or that you should just move to, and I quote, New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. You know, those famously affordable cities.

So I move every few months for work, but I always come back to Texas because it's the closest thing I have to home. I love it here. I've lived in a couple different parts of the state and not only is it affordable (most places), you can find acceptance where you least expect it.

I was thinking today I would trashtalk these so called blue states and cities the way their highfalutin intellectuals and journalists see fit to trashtalk my home. Here goes:

Chicago, the Windy City, where the smell of hotdogs from street vendors outside Wrigley Field is accompanied by the dulcet tones of a guy with an Eastern European accent talking into a portable mic about how marriage is a sacrament between a man and a woman, and homosexuality is a sin. Behind him, posters tacked to telephone poles proclaim, Chicago doesn't have a gun problem, it has a black problem! in bold, racist lettering.

New York City, hub of arts, music, culture, fine food and wine, where a studio apartment in a bad part of town is a mere $2000/month, utilities not included. It's fine; just get a roommate! A man handing out leaflets on the corner bodyblocks a teenager from crossing the street, saying he will not let her cross until she smiles. Beneath the ever-present scaffolding, young people wearing shirts that say Bible Crusade hand out religious literature.

The Bay Area, where a gentle breeze blows off the water and missing the Grand Avenue exit and getting on the Bay Bridge by accident is only a $7 mistake. That's okay; if you don't want to drive, you can take AC transit in the East Bay, where bus drivers snap and yell at you if you try to ask them a question. Honey, this ain't the south. Scan the QR code and shut up. Oh, and your rent is $2000/month with utilities and you have to share a bathroom. People without $2000 to spare live in tents and broken-down RVs in a bad part of town. Let's go brandon! yells a sticker on a light pole.

True stories all. I have seen your exalted liberal cities and they are shit. You trashtalk the south from your cushy, overpriced apartment in a coastal city and yet you've clearly never been there.
