Solas Cutscene: What Pride Had Wrought
Forgive My Melancholy
Solas Masterpost Related Quest: What Pride Had Wrought
The PC speaks to Solas in the rotunda.
Choice dependent dialogue:
PC drank (romanced/high/neutral approval) [1]
PC drank (low approval) [2]
Morrigan drank [3]
1 - PC drank (romanced/high approval)
PC drank, Solas was at the Temple: Solas (romance): I begged you not to drink from the Well. Why could you not have listened? Solas: Why did you do it? I warned you not to. PC: Solas… [4]
PC drank, Solas was not at the Temple: Solas (romance): Why did you not bring me to the Temple of Mythal? I could have warned you. Solas: I wish I had been with you at the Temple of Mythal. I could have warned you. PC: Warned me? [4]
4 - Dialogue options:
Investigate: Meaning? [5] +Solas slightly approves
General: I’m still myself. [6] -Solas slightly disapproves
General: Why does this bother you? [7] +Solas slightly approves
General: It’s done. [8] -Solas slightly disapproves
5 - Investigate: Meaning? PC: What does that mean, exactly? Solas: You are Mythal’s creature now. Everything you do, whether you know it or not, will be for her. You have given up a part of yourself. [back to 4]
6 - General: I’m still myself. PC: I have not become Mythal’s slave. Solas: Not yet, but if you remove the layer of nostalgia from stories of the elven gods, you might see the danger. They were arrogant and fickle. They warred amongst themselves. They had feuds, vendettas. And you are bound to one of them now. I suppose it is better you have the power than Corypheus, which leads to the next logical question… [12]
7 - General: Why does this bother you? PC: You don’t even believe in the ancient elven gods! Solas: I don’t believe they were gods, no, but I believe that they existed! Something existed to start the legends! If not gods, then mages, or spirits, or something we’ve never seen. And you are bound to one of them now. I suppose it is better you have the power than Corypheus, which leads to the next logical question… [12]
8 - General: It’s done. PC: I had to do it, and I can’t very well take it back now. Solas: I know. I only hope it is worth whatever price you pay. I suppose it is better you have the power than Corypheus, which leads to the next logical question… [12]
2 - PC drank (low approval)
Solas: How does it feel to have the power of an ancient elven goddess flowing through you? Is it everything you hoped?
General: I had to do it. [9]
General: It was the witch or me. [10]
General: I’m fine. [11]
9 - General: I had to do it. PC: I didn’t ask for this, Solas. Solas: You drank. That is all that matters. I look forward to seeing how this works out for you. [12]
10 - General: It was the witch or me. PC: Would you rather I give Morrigan that power? Does that sound like a good idea? Solas: You see power as little more than a larger weapon. I look forward to seeing the price you pay. Until then… [12]
11 - General: I’m fine. PC: I don’t feel any different. Solas: I will try to suppress my surprise. Nevertheless, the power is yours… until Mythal chooses otherwise. [12]
3 - Morrigan drank
Solas (was at temple): The Temple of Mythal was extraordinary. In all my journeys, I never dreamed of finding anything like it. [12] Solas (was not at temple): The Temple of Mythal sounds truly astounding. I would have liked to have seen it. [12]
12 - Scene continues.
Solas: What will you do with the power of the Well once Corypheus is dead?
Dialogue options:
General: I’ll restore what was. [13] +Solas approves
General: I’ll make the world better. [14] +Solas slightly approves
General: I’ll rely on those I trust. [15] -Solas slightly disapproves
General: One thing at a time. [16] -Solas disapproves
13 - General: I’ll restore what was. PC: I’ll use whatever power I have to undo the chaos that Corypheus and his allies have caused. Solas: You would put things back the way they were before? PC: Yes. I mean, not exactly… Solas: I know what you mean. Thank you. PC: For what?
Solas (neutral/high approval): You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You honor the past and work to recover what was lost, even if the cost is high. I respect that, and I am indebted to you for the reminder. [25] Solas (low approval): I do not agree with everything you have done, Inquisitor. Your actions have been shortsighted. You have made mistakes. But you understand the importance of recovering what was lost, even if the cost is high. I respect that, and I am indebted to you for the reminder. [25]
14 - General: I’ll make the world better. PC: This war proved that we can’t go back to the way things were. I’ll try to help this world move forward. Solas: You would risk everything you have in the hope that the future is better? What if it isn’t? What if you wake up to find that the future you shaped is worse than what was?
Dialogue options:
General: I’ll keep trying. [17]
General: That won’t happen. [18]
General: That doesn’t matter. [19]
17 - General: I’ll keep trying. PC: I’ll take a breath, see where things went wrong, and then try again. Solas: Just like that? PC: If we don’t keep trying, we’ll never get it right. Solas: You’re right. Thank you. PC: For what? [20] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 18 - General: That won’t happen. PC: We’ve done all right so far. We’ll have problems, yes, but we can handle them, Solas: Such confidence. PC: What’s the alternative? Do nothing? We have to keep trying. Solas: You’re right. Thank you. PC: For what? [20] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 19 - General: That doesn’t matter. PC: If that happens, it happens. We’re doing the best we can. That’s all we can do. Solas: You’re right. Thank you. PC: For what? [20] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 20 - Scene continues. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Solas (neutral/high approval): You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You have offered hope that if one keeps trying, even if the consequences are grave… that someday, things will be better. [25] Solas (low approval): I do not agree with everything you have done, Inquisitor. Your actions have been shortsighted. You have made mistakes. But you never give up. You never stop trying, even when the consequences are grave. For your determination, I offer thanks. [25]
General: I’ll rely on those I trust. PC: I’m not arrogant enough to think it’s my decision alone. Whatever happens, we’ll do it together. Solas: You think to share your power, to avoid the temptation to misuse it. A noble sentiment… but, ultimately, a mistake. PC: Why? Solas: Because while one selfless [person] may walk away from the lure of power’s corruption… no group has ever done so.
Dialogue options:
General: We will. [21] -Solas slightly disapproves
General: What, never? [22]
General: I will still lead. [23] +Solas slightly approves
21 - General: We will. PC: I trust my friends. Solas: I know that mistake well enough to carve the angles of her face from memory. PC: Why is this so important to you? [24] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 22 - General: What, never? PC: There’s a first time for everything. Solas: Perhaps… but it will not be this time. I believe even you know that. PC: Why is this so important to you? [24] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 23 - General: I will still lead. PC: If other members of the Inquisition overstep their bounds, I’ll be there to stop them. Solas: Ah, then I misunderstood. You will be first among equals. Good. PC: Good? [24] ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ 24 - Scene continues. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Solas (neutral/high approval): You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You must not let false modesty allow you to pass your power to someone else. There are few regrets sharper than watching fools squander what you sacrificed to achieve. [25] Solas (low approval): I do not agree with everything you have done, Inquisitor. Your actions have been shortsighted. You have made mistakes. But they are your mistakes. You cannot correct them unless you claim them. Honor your mistakes. In the end, they may be all you have. [25]
16 - General: One thing at a time. PC: I won’t know the answer until Corypheus is defeated. Solas: Yet they are already asking you to answer. Restore the Chantry? Destroy the Chantry? If you do nothing, someone else will answer in your stead. Whatever you do, choose wisely. [25]
25 - Scene continues.
Solas: Forgive my melancholy. Corypheus has cost us much. The Temple of Mythal did not deserve such a fate. The orb he carries, and its stolen power… that, at least, we may still recover. With luck, some of the past may yet survive.
Dialogue options:
General: Thank you for everything. [26]
General: Sounds like you’re leaving. [27]
General: Enough. Let’s finish this. [28]
General (romance): We’ll do it together. [29]
General (romance): So… good luck kiss? [30]
General (romance): Hey, stop worrying. [31]
26 - General: Thank you for everything. PC: Thank you, Solas. We couldn’t have done this without you. Solas: You are welcome. Scene ends.
27 - General: Sounds like you’re leaving. PC: You planning to leave before we take down the bad guy? Solas: No, but there may not be a later. It seemed wise to say my goodbyes now. Scene ends.
28 - General: Enough. Let’s finish this. PC: We can talk more once Corypheus is dead. Solas: I hope so. Scene ends.
29 - General: We’ll do it together. PC: Whatever comes, I will have you by my side. Solas: Come with me, vhenan. Scene ends.
30 - General: So… good luck kiss? PC: You’re being grim and fatalistic in the hope of getting me into bed, aren’t you? Solas: I am grim and fatalistic. Getting you into bed is just an enjoyable side benefit. Come with me, vhenan. Scene ends.
31 - General: Hey, stop worrying. PC: You’re talking like you’re going to die. Stop. We’re going to get through this. Solas: I hope you’re right. Come with me, vhenan. Scene ends.

r/dragonage (Reddit) post titled "Jeff Grubb: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf scheduled to release in late 2024." Post text: "Dreadwolf to be shown this summer and planned release later this year, Bioware is internally confident on the release date. Anything could change of course." Source: [link] Clip: [link] "Credit to: u/IcePopsicleDragon for posting this in r/GamingLeaksAndRumours."

In episode 339 of Game Mess Decides, Jeff Grubb had the following to say on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf's possible/rumored release window [transcript]:
Question from chat: “Hi Jeff and Mike, when will Dragon Age 4 be shown and released?” Jeff: “Yeah, I mean, I expect it will probably pop up this summer. I don’t know when it’ll be shown is the real answer, that’s the, let’s get that out, I don’t know when it will be shown. I assume it will be shown sometime this summer. Could happen at any time though. It will be released this year [2024], last I heard. That is, and they’re pretty confident about that, doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee, could slip, but right now, internally, they expect to release it later this year, which is why I took it in Fantasy Critic”.

(there were no more mentions of Dragon Age or BioWare during the episode)

Haven Ambient Dialogue: Scout Pellane and Charter
This is a transcription of the ambient dialogue between Scout Pellane and Charter, it happens in the entryway to Haven. I was going to post this when I finished transcribing all of Haven ambient dialogue, but I saw a lot of people who hadn't seen/heard of it before and I thought I'd share.
Charter: You're Scout Pellane, yes? Sent to observe activity at Redcliffe? I'll take your report. Scout Pellane: I don't report to you, knife-ear. I'll speak with Commander Cullen. Charter: By all means. When you do, please inform him that you refused to speak to me.
Scout Pellane: I spoke with Commander Cullen. I, ah, apologize for what I said earlier. Charter: It is nothing. Now, Scout Pellane, what can you tell me of Redcliffe? Scout Pellane: The mages have been quiet since their attack on the Conclave. Charter: Their attack? Do you have information confirming that the mages were responsible? Scout Pellane: Well, I had assumed... Charter: Don't. Our job is to acquire actionable information. Assumptions can lead you to overlook something vital. Scout Pellane: How could that great Breach not have been caused by the mages? Charter:  It is reasonable to believe that magic was involved, but we cannot assume it was the rebels. How many powerful mages died at the Conclave, Scout Pellane? How would those deaths benefit the rebels? Scout Pellane: I... I'm not sure. Charter: Good. Now you're thinking. That's a start. Scout Pellane: What's your name, anyway? Charter: You may call me Charter, Scout Pellane. Now lower your voice. Your report is not for the world at large.
Scout Pellane: We got scattered reports of Tevinter sightings in the Hinterlands. Charter: Mages? Scout Pellane: And their servants, yes. Charter: Hmmm. Scout Pellane: You think they might be connected to the attack on the Conclave? Charter: Assumptions, Scout Pellane. But… no circle mage has ever caused anything like the Breach. Scout Pellane: Fair point.
Scout Pellane: What kind of name is “Charter,” anyways? It doesn’t sound elven. Charter: I said you could call me that, Scout Pellane. I never said it was my name. Scout Pellane: You’re a bit terrifying at times, Charter. Charter: Why? Because you’re realizing that every elf you casually call “knife-ear” might have a life you know nothing about? Scout Pellane: I was hoping you’d forgotten about that. Charter: In this line of work we can afford to forget nothing.
Charter: So we have Tevinter activity in the Hinterlands, and the templars are compromised. Scout Pellane: You think the templars are responsible for the attack on the Conclave? Charter: I think they are a piece of it. As are the Tevinter in the Hinterlands.
Charter: Your report on the Seeker Fortress was excellent. It gave us information we dearly needed. Scout Pellane: Thank you. I just… I don’t know. It used to be easy: Blame the mages, or blame the templars. Charter: That simplistic thinking is fine for soldiers. You and I are more than that, Scout Pellane. Scout Pellane: That attack on the Conclave wasn’t the end. There’s someone out there, or something. It’s not going to stop, is it? Charter: I would be very much surprised if it did. Scout Pellane: Then I suppose I should get back out there.
Charter: And you’ve heard nothing of this “Elder One” before, in any of your investigations? Scout Pellane: Nothing, I’m sorry. Charter: No. It’s taken all of us by surprise. We must… I don’t know. (If sided with templars) Charter: He compromised the templars, and is likely responsible for the disappearance of the rebel mages. (If sided with the mages) Charter: He compromised the rebel mages, and is likely responsible for the disappearance of the templars. Scout Pellane: And we know nothing about him. Charter: We will, soon enough.
Scout Pellane: Charter, if you’re free later, would you like to have a drink at the tavern? Charter: Are you courting a knife-ear, Scout Pellane? Scout Pellane: No! No, I… I don’t know. I used to drink with the soldiers. But I can’t talk with them anymore, not really. Charter: You’ve seen enough pieces to have some idea of the size of the game we’re playing. Scout Pellane: Yes, and… I’m sorry. I just… You understand. This Elder One… there’s no one I can talk to… Charter: I’ll be in the tavern this evening. Perhaps you could buy me a drink. Make sure you take a bath first.
(Farewells)
Scout Pellane: Good day. Charter: Greetings.

Recruiting Belle in Val Royeaux
Belle is a potential Inquisition Agent (under Josephine) who can be recruited during the initial visit to Val Royeaux.
Transcript:
Transcribed from YouTube videos 1, 2:
Belle: “Excuse me, but… is what they’re saying real? The Inquisition’s going to fix the hole in the sky?”
Herald: “That’s what we’re attempting, yes.” or "We're going to give it a try, at least."
Belle: “No one is doing anything. The Chantry’s useless, and the Templars… Andrastre, I never thought they’d abandon us."
Belle: "Listen. Your camp will need food. I have contacts. We’ll have deliveries there in days.”
Cassandra: “You want to help the Inquisition?”
Belle: “Never been part of something this big before, but… if your Inquisition’s going to seal the sky, I want to help.”
Herald: “What do you think, Cassandra?”
Cassandra: “I think the woman is asking you and not me.”
Belle: “Well, [he/she] is…”
Cassandra: “The Herald of Andraste. Yes, I understand.”
Cassandra: “Haven is a mess, but we won’t turn away anyone willing to help. Invite her, if it pleases you.”
Herald: “Head to Haven, then. We need good people.”
Belle: “I don’t know if I’m that, but it’ll be nice to see.”
Belle: “Thank you.”

New Year, Same Project
Hello, yes, I am still alive. Yes, I am still working on this. I've been quietly reformatting each section, mainly because I wasn't happy with how it was organized. Now I have it in such a way that it's much easier for me to update. Also have a new layout, that's still a bit of a WIP, but I think it's a little bit nicer.
I've been finding lots of little lines of dialogue that fit into spots I think were already "finished" which is both super cool and also super annoying lol.
I'm also making a list for myself I call "Play Throughs I Need to See More Of". Mainly because they seem to be the hold outs for some of this "hidden" dialogue. Behold:
Blackwall Romance where Blackwall isn’t forgiven for lying
Low approval Blackwall play through
Iron Bull romance where Iron Bull is still with the Ben-Hassrath
Iron Bull leaves the Inquisition at the end - Ben-Hassrath or Low Approval?
Sera Romance where they break up before the end
Low approval Sera play through
Dorian play through where they flirt, but haven’t (yet) gotten together
Low approval Dorian play through
Cassandra Romance where Cassandra becomes Divine and they break up because of it
Low approval Cassandra play through
As you may notice, lots of Low Approval versions. YouTube is surprisingly light of those types, I assume because no one ever wants to be mean to characters ever. Which, really can't blame them.
I may come back to this post and edit as needed. Having a list is...helpful sometimes.

Hey, so I'm thinking about making a sideblog to transcribe DAO.
I know there's one working through DAI, but while researching the DAO fic I plan to write once Enasal's main story is complete (don't worry, I'll still write one shots and stuff). All branching paths, all races/genders, that sort of thing.
Also debating on putting each bit on YouTube. It will be a massive undertaking, I know, but seeing the lack or resources for DAO peeps makes me sad.
Is there anyone who think they would be interested in this? Or am I wrong and there's a DAO transcript hiding out there somewhere?
If you feel like this is something you'd like, like or share so I can guage interest.

gale's early access dialogue transcripts - part 2 b: the loss scene
in early access, gale had two additional major scenes in act i: the deer stew scene and the loss scene, both of which would happen during a long rest at camp.
the scenes in early access usually happened in this order:
-1: first night long rest scene (still in the final game) -2: mirror image scene (still in the final game) -3: deer stew scene (cut content / partially reused in act i) -4: weave scene (still in the final game) -5: loss scene (cut content) -6: tiefling party scene (ea version cut / partially reused in act ii last night alive scene)
you can watch the entire scene here. below you'll find the transcript of the scene itself as well as some additional info / context.
the loss scene revealed more about gale's life before the game, his abilities as a chosen of mystra and as an archwizard, as well as his status and his relationship with mystra. sadly, it was cut and only seems to have survived as (as of now) obsolete code:
Tumblr media
at a long rest, gale would have a ! and stand by the fire, trying and failing to cast a spell:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gale: [Fails to cast a spell] Gale: Khat-Tsjin Deth-Thra! Protag: [Wizard]: That was a failed spell if ever I heard one.  Gale: Failure. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. It’s getting late. I think I'll turn in. Perhaps some sleep will do me good. - Protag [Option 1]: You don't sound very happy there, Gale. Gale: Happiness is like a stray cat; sometimes it seeks you out, sometimes it ignores you. Tonight, I'm ignored. It's getting late. I think I'll turn in. Perhaps some sleep will do me good. - Protag [Option 2]: Is something wrong? Gale: Let's just say not all is right. But that goes for all of us. - Protag [Option 3]: Do you mind? I’d like some peace and quiet Gale: Quiet you can have – peace I can’t guarantee. Especially not peace of mind.
Protag [Wizard]: I didn't recognize your hand gestures. What spell were you trying to cast? Gale: A bygone spell from a bygone age. It doesn't matter. - Protag [Option 1]: They say you should never go to bed angry Gale: Isn’t that advice for couples? The only one I’m angry with is myself. Please – just let it rest. - Protag [Option 2]: Ever the mystery man, aren’t you? Gale: I simply have a lot on my mind. - Protag [Option 3]: Suit yourself. Goodnight. Gale: Goodnight.
Protag [Option 1]: [if Protag intiated Gale's romance during the Weave scene] Come, you know I care about you. I showed you when we shared that spell. Gale: So you did. Very well. -> See below - Protag [Option 2]: [Insight] We shared the Weave the other night. Now share what's on your mind.    Gale: [Failure] Tonight's not a night for sharing. Tonight's a night for regrets. With that I bid you an evening better than my own.  Gale: [Success] -> See below - Protag [Option 1]: [Persuasion] I’m the leader of this party. I need to know what’s going on. Gale: [Success]: Very well. Just now, I was trying to cast a spell I once cast with ease, but I failed. You see, this fire – there was a time that I could make it come alive. That it would take the shape of a dragon and roar in delight. There was a time I could silence a Beholder with a word, and lift a tower from its foundations with a flourish. There was a time I was all but one with the Weave. But no more – a mere shadow of the wizard I used to be. Why? Because I’ve lost. Gale [Failure] You're the leader and I will follow you where you go, not down the path of my own regrets. With that I bid you good night. - Protag [Option 2]: [Intimidation] You will tell me, and you’ll tell me now. Gale: [Failure] I said ‘please’, but that courtesy was a mere formality. What I meant was; you will let it rest. With that I bid you an evening better than my own.  Gale: [Success]: Very well. -> See above
Protag [Option 1]: I don’t understand. What is it that you’ve lost? Gale: I’ve lost… - Protag [Option 2]: Who are you? Gale: I am the man who came after – after having lost... - Protag [Option 3]: If this is meant to be suspenseful, I assure you it’s not. Gale: You don’t understand! I’ve lost… - Protag [Option 4]: It’s all right, you don’t have to tell me. Gale: Thank you. You’re a good friend. I want you to know that  - Protag [Option 5]: [Persuasion]: You can tell me. You can trust me. Gale [Failure]: Trust is not the issue. The issue is that the truth doesn’t matter. Secret or revealed, the outcome is the same.  Gale [Success]: I’ve lost Mystra. I sought to impress her personally. To turn the eye of my muse upon me. To win the favour of a goddess. But I failed, and all I invoked was death and dismissal. My death. Her dismissal. - Protag [Option 6]: [Insight] Go on. Every burden is easier to carry when shared. Gale [Failure]: I’m strong enough. I’ll carry on alone. With that I bid you an evening better than my own. (Die/Dice Roll Fail) Gale: [Sucess] An apt enough observation.  I've... lost... Mystra. I sought to impress her personally. - Protag [Cleric of Mystra]: I'm sorry. I cannot begin to understand being abandoned by the goddess. Gale: Thank you. You're a good friend. I often think of that moment we shared- - Protag [Cleric of Mystra]: When devotion is blind, the goddess loses sight of you. Rightly too. Gale: You pray to the goddess for every spell and every blessing. You devote your life to her – are we truly so different? Then again, if that is how you judge me, there’s little I can do to change your mind. But know that I have this ambition still. First to save myself, and after that, the licence to dream.
Protag [Option 1]: I’m sorry for you. Protag [Option 2]: I don't know what to make of what you've told me, but I sympathise. Gale: Thank you. You’re a good friend.  Gale: [Weave scene wasn't romantic] I want you to know that. I consider myself very lucky to have found you. -> Protag can initiate alternate romance route here -> See below - Gale: [Weave scene was romantic] I often think of that moment we shared together – one under the Weave. I hope you think about it too. / I'm glad to know you think about it too. [end] - Protag [Option 3]: Another fool pays for his arrogance. A tale as old as time. Gale: Arrogance? Ambition, rather. And ambition is a fine thing – until suddenly it no longer is. Then again, if that is how you judge me, there’s little I can do to change your mind. But know that I have this ambition still. First to save myself, and after that, the licence to dream. [end]
the loss scene also offered another way to initiate gale's romance:
Narrator: *You sense a moment of unspoken affection. You want to know where it may lead.*  Gale: I consider myself very lucky to have found you. Protag [Option 1]: I think perhaps we could be more than friends. Gale: Perhaps. - Protag [Option 2]: I consider myself lucky too Gale: Good. Goodnight. And thank you for your patient understanding. / And try not to think too poorly of me. A cat can look at a king. A wizard can look at a goddess.  - Protag [Option 3]: Don’t get carried away imagining feelings that aren’t there. Gale: I see. Say no more. Goodnight. And thank you for your patient understanding. - Protag [Option 4]: You are a good friend too, Gale. Gale: Hold on to that thought. I may just have to remind you before all is said and done. Goodnight. And thank you for your patient understanding. - Protag [Option 5]: Lets not get sentimental, shall we? Gale: Fair enough. Goodnight. And thank you for your patient understanding.
after the loss scene ended, the player-initiated dialogue had several options following it: you were able to initiate the romance on gale's perhaps, you could address the fact that he mentioned that he thinks about the weave scene with the player still, and lastly, you were able to ask how he can still cast if he had lost mystra's favour so.
if you picked the "I think perhaps we could be more than friends." option during the loss scene, you could talk about what exactly he meant with gale after by intiating a conversation with him again:
Protag: When I said we could be more than friends, you answered 'perhaps.' What does that really mean? Gale: If I recall correctly, the Waterdhavian Dictionary of the Common Tongue of Faerun defines it as an adverb that conveys the meaning of 'it may be that', or 'possibly'. Sorry, sometimes I can't help but being quite insufferable. Gale: In seriousness, I’m glad you asked that question. Gale: You see, I'm not a big believer in fate, but I do believe in serendipity. Life is a tempest of events that sometimes we brace against and sometimes we embrace. You are on such event, that soon, I would like to embrace.
Tumblr media
you could also follow up with him on the mention of him thinking about the weave scene still:
Protag: You said you think about the moment we shared under the weave. Do you think about it often? Gale: Do you? - Protag [Option 1]: Yes. Gale: So do I. You see. I'm not a big believer in fate, but I do believe in serendipity. Life is a tempest of events that sometimes we brace against and sometimes embrace. You're one such event that one day soon perhaps I'd like to embrace.  - Protag [Option 2]: From time to time.  Gale: So do I. You see. I'm not a big believer in fate, but I do believe in serendipity. Life is a tempest of events that sometimes we brace against and sometimes embrace. You're one such event that one day soon perhaps I'd like to embrace.  - Protag [Option 3]: Not really. Gale: And yet you ask. I do, as a matter of fact.
the follow up for the loss scene would also include this dialogue:
Protag: There's one thing, I don't understand. If Mystra abandoned you, how can you still cast magic? Gale: The Weave is still here. All around us. Inside of us, too. As long as the goddess lives, magic is still a tangible thing for those who know how to touch. I've studied magic for many years and in as many ways, I'm still a more than capable wizard. Gale: It's just that I'm no longer able to perform those feats even archwizards would marvel at. To have one hand at the pulse of divinity. You have to remember that the Weave is a living thing. Both the embodiment and the extension of Mystra herself. Gale: She can give and she can take away. I'm afraid I'm still very much on her naughty list.
anyhow, this wraps the loss scene up.
overall, i'm extremely sad this was cut. i think with minor adjustments this scene would have worked not only to combat the scene disparity amongst the companions, but it also would have fleshed out gale's backstory and character even more!
i hope this was helpful to some of you!
coming up next:
-part 1: the three tadpole dreams -> completed -part 2: major cut scenes: the deer stew scene & the loss scene -> completed -part 3: minor cut scenes: abandoned temple of jergal, failed to save arabella, talking to the paladins of tyr and agreeing to go after karlach, edowin and the tadpole reveal, mayrina giving ethel's wand to her or breaking it, handing astarion over to the gur or defending him, reaching the druid grove, killing lae'zel, reaching the goblin camp & looking for halsin, killing the druids, priestess gut & the brand & the cult of the absolute, dror ragzlin and talking to the dead mind flayer, ogre couple, necromancy of thay, ethel, zhentarim chest, myconid colony -part 4: gale's condition & the way it was treated in early access
taglist: @chainsawmascara, @randomfanner, @tacogoats, @khajiit-necromancer, @gwinharper, @galesenchantedpanties, @swampfaerie, @ardently-queer, @nirraein, @gale-enjoyer, @xiv-wolfram, @kairoswouldnever, @a-psychopathic-dream, @toboldlydammitjim

I'm such a sucker for fics from the pov of some NormalPerson™ who tries to understand what the actual fuck is going on with your fave. For example;
- Hermione's parents sort of got used to their daughter talking about dragons and curses and she makes it sound like its no big deal so they just go along with their strange kid. Except now there's a man at the door who says he's the minister of magic and he would like to personally invite you and your daughter to the first memorial of the final battle as she is a war hero of the highest order. What do you mean there was a war? Hermione, get down here this instant!
-Or a true crime podcast about the crimes of Sam and Dean Winchester through the eyes of someone who went to college with Sam. He hosts podcast nights and everytime one of Sams alleged kills is described he tells the friends who are listening with them about that time Sam went vegetarian for a month after watching a nature channel docu.
-Or Percy Jackson returns to a mortal high school after one of his adventures and one of his teachers has to try and decipher the transcripts from his old schools. How the fuck did this little skater boy blow up his last school? Why isn't he in prison??? Or dead??? The parent-teacher conference night that follows is one for the ages as Sally Jackson lies her ass off, but with skill.
-Or John Watson decides to go to a class reunion against better knowledge and Sherlock tags along to learn more about John out of boredom. His former classmates don't understand what the hell Sherlock Holmes is doing at their party if there hasn't been a murder and absolutely come to the conclusion that the two are together. They have to be, right?
Basically anything that puts these unhinged adventures and relationships into perspective I guess, sorry if these don't make sense,,, tag me if you know any fics of this sort! For any fandom! Or comment you own hc!!!

Im rewatcing the first day egg video, and im going a bit crazy here but like.. do you rememebr the first cinematic? the opening sequence showing off the early landmarks adn that tts voiceover
a lot of people already got the morse code part of the cinematic but rewatching It made me realise something: i dont really know why anymore what that voice over is talking about near the end, here is the basic transcript of what its saying (though keep in mind the middle parts are a little hard to hear over the morse code at least for me)
[
test subject, week one
first phase completed
all vitals full(?) yes(?)
zero conflict
wild(?) age iron age
first experiemnt underway
results... no error error error error test subject... *voice fades into static and repeated "errors"*
]
i used to assume it was talking about the supposed dragon who laid the eggs but now we know that was just a whimsical lie told by the feds. so then what was the whole error thing going on about? what experiement went wrong so early on? it must have something to do with the eggs, since it was way before recent dynamics, so what was an experiment that went wrong?
codeflippa has been referred to nothing else but "faulty egg" by the resistance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and rememebr the books we got from the federation on that one tubhole stream:

a failed experiment

Twelfth-cake and riddles on HMS Erebus
Tumblr media
A Twelfth Night celebration illustrated by Robert Seymour from The Book of Christmas (1836) by Thomas Kibble Hervey – note the cake in the left part of the picture and the cards in people's hands.
In his entry for January 6th, 1841 in his Antarctic-journal-slash-autobiography, Robert McCormick (who was surgeon on the Erebus on the Antarctic expedition) makes this reference to a Twelfth-cake eaten by the officers:
Wednesday, 6th. — Being Twelfth-night, all the officers took tea in the cabin with Captain Ross, and partook of a Twelfth-cake, which had been given him in a tin case, and was to have been opened on the 6th of January, 1840, but had been reserved for entering the ice. It was accompanied by the customary painted figures on paper and sugar, with enigmas to solve, which afforded us all some amusement and laughter; to aid which we had a glass of cherry brandy each.
(The age of the cake always surprised me a little, but apparently, according to the 19th century Cassell’s Dictionary of Cookery, fruit cake “will improve with keeping – indeed, confectioners do not use their cakes until they have been made some months; and if a cake is cut into soon after it is made it will crumble.” (x))
I had no idea that “painted figures on paper and sugar” were a customary part of the Twelfth-cake tradition, so I had a poke around the web and was delighted to learn that Twelfth-cakes came with various figurines for decoration. They were made from moulded sugar paste, with some depicting people, some not.
In the Every-Day Book of William Hone (1827), Twelfth-cakes are described as decorated with “Stars, castles, kings, cottages, dragons, trees, fish, palaces, cats, dogs, churches, lions, milkmaids, knights, serpents, and innumerable other forms, in snow-white confectionery, painted with variegated colours”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An advertisement for “well executed Twelfth-Night characters”, 1842 (The Australian). Queen Victoria’s Twelfth-cake, 1849 (ILN).
The Twelfth-cakes themselves were generally large, domed, and heavy, full of nuts, dried fruits, and spices. Hone, again, calls them “Dark with citron and plums and heavy as gold”. (A recipe from 1802 is available here, and one from 1830 here – the latter promises a cake 12-14 inches across.)
You could also buy sets of cards with Twelfth Night figures and riddles on them, which were sold in packs. In the late 18th century, it was customary for the party to draw lots with the cards – and whichever character a person was assigned, they would have to play until midnight.

The resolution on these is only just about legible, but here's a close-up of four of them and their solutions from the sheet:

Transcriptions: From left to right: SIR OLIVER OGLE. Why is a lover like a gooseberry? BETRICE BOUQUET. When is a cheese most like college? CHARLES CUTEMDOWN. Why are Jews at a feast like a brewer? PATTY PRIMROSE. Why is a dandy like a haunch of venison?
Solutions: He is easily made a fool of. / When it is eaten. [Eton] / He brews [Hebrews] drink here. / He is a bit of a buck.

Previous | Chapter Start | Beginning | Summary
author's note: thank you to @nexility-sims for being my toddler dialogue consultant on this one. Arthur's probably still too articulate for a little guy, but that's fine. He's just really, really advanced for his age.
Toulon and Aducia remain the setting of @ardeney-sims' story, which does not actually exist. shh, it's a secret.
Transcript under the cut.
Pineview Manor // Toulon, Aducia
ARTHUR | Mommy? For my birthday, can I ride in a car? KELLY | Uh...we don't have a car, kiddo. ARTHUR | Oh. Why? KELLY | Well, the bus goes everywhere we need to go. And it's cheaper than a car. ARTHUR | Okay. But why? KELLY | Well, with a car, you have to pay for gas and insurance. And that's expensive. ARTHUR | Oh. What does eg...eg...egspensive mean? KELLY | [sighs] You are full of questions today, aren't ya? KELLY | Ugh! Who just leaves their boxes all over? Animals, I swear to god... ARTHUR | What kind of animals, Mommy? KELLY | Not real animals, sweetheart. ARTHUR | Oh...Pretend animals? [gasps] Dragons? KELLY | No dragons. It's just a saying. ARTHUR | Mommy, what's your favorite animal? KELLY | Hm...cats, I think. ARTHUR | Why? KELLY | They're cute. I like their little whiskers. And I like how they're independent. ARTHUR | What does independent mean? KELLY | It means someone who doesn't need a lot of help to take care of themselves. ARTHUR | Oh...like a big kid? KELLY | [chuckles] You betcha, kiddo. Just like a big kid. ARTHUR | Mommy, am I a big kid? KELLY | Mhm. And you're getting bigger every day. ARTHUR | Mommy, are you independent? KELLY | Hold on, kiddo. ARTHUR | Why? KELLY | The front door is standing wide open... KELLY | [whispering] Arthur, Mommy needs you to be very quiet, okay? ARTHUR | [whispering] Okay. KELLY | [gasps] You- ARTHUR | Mommy? ROSALIND | Me. ARTHUR | [whispering] Who's that lady? KELLY | I don't know how you tracked us down, but come near us. If you try anything, I'll...I'll...I'll scream! MARY | I wouldn't, if I were you. KELLY | [gasps] KELLY | You were the one who broke into my apartment! MARY | Sorry. We needed a sample for the DNA test. You understand. ARTHUR | [whispering] Mommy, what's DNA? KELLY | I never asked for anything from any of you! Why can't you leave us alone? ROSALIND | Kelly, please. That's quite enough. ROSALIND | Why don't you come in and have a seat. We have business to discuss....

Frostbite: - and with just one mighty punch the Great One claimed the crown!
Chief Frostbite gives the Far Frozen children some lesson in ghost zones history.
While I was making this I wondered why the Far Frozen people have a shrine with simple cave drawings as a place of worship for Danny. I mean if you worship someone/something you want to offer the best you can offer, so why didn't they made something better? We saw how Frostbite created a perfect copy of Danny made of ice within seconds, so it doesn't seem like it is a lack of artistic talent. I have some theories under the cut:
The Far Frozen people are big fans of Pablo Picasso and they took the quote, "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child", at heart and have let their youngest members draw the heroics of Danny Phantom. This is their way to show the greatest honor.
The shrine is a prophecy the Far frozen have gotten hold of when their civilization was still young, like stone age period. So they preserved the shrine until the day Danny visits them. ( But this also means destiny exists and everything Clockwork told about that nothing is written in stone is questionable)
This theory is now a very confusing concept and I need to tell some background first: While I was searching for references I noticed that some of the drawings have Danny without the logo.
Tumblr media
Since the episode "Memory Blank" Desiree presumably created a new reality/timeline where Danny always had a logo (if she is that powerful to have reality warping powers):
Transcript from "Memory Blank" Danny Did you do something to my costume? Sam acts innocent. Sam No. It’s… [Shrugs.] always been like that.
How did the Far Frozen know of a reality without a logo? Now comes the theory: We know that natural portals can be created which leads to different time periods while in the Ghost Zone. That means time flows not linear in the zone.
This reminded me of a concept in from the Elder Scrolls franchise, the Dragon Break or un-time. This is a phenomenon "that involves a splitting of the natural timeline which results in branching parallel realities where the same events occur differently, or not at all." With this penomenon stuff can also get sent into the future or something into the past. (The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim plot)
In terms of DP that means the events of "Memory Blank" did occur like we saw but it also did not occur like that, maybe Danny changed his outfit just like that without Sams doing. Everything is possible and not. That's why the Far Frozen have the knowledge of a reality which shall not exist.
In the shrine drawing Danny is also depicted without the battle suit, so they know of a reality where Danny defeated Pharia Dark without it:
Tumblr media
Now then, why do they have simple cave drawings? Because of the non-linear nature of the Zone the news of the ghost kings defeat reached the area of the Far Frozen in their past but as Danny arrived their civilization already evolved in a modern state. For Danny it was just a few weeks/months between the events, but for the Far Frozen it was centuries or even millennia, thats also why they worship him like a god.
Like I said a very confusing concept.
Desiree could also just have super effective memory manipulation powers and did not create a new reality, and the nature of the ghost zone is just a mess, and the theory is wrong...
(tagging @floralflowerpower because she is the best world building expert in the phandom I know and I wonder whether this sounds plausible)

Drow Name Tables
Something I did as a special favor to @kimmurielsscryingmirror (@eldritchmist ) who showed interest. Because it’s...pretty big I decided to make it into it’s own post.
These are a few Drow naming tables that were originally found in an issue of Dragon Magazine. It’s two d100 tables of prefixes and suffixes commonly used in first names. The second couple of tables is a list of common house name prefixes and suffixes.
EDIT: Just a little something for those who care which I didn’t add before because it took me so long to finish the transcription I just wanted to post it lol. The gender difference is noted in the related Dragon Magazine article as being significant. Non Drow may not notice but a Drow will notice the difference. Female names sometimes borrow parts that are normally only considered male and this is considered fine...but a male with a name that borrows a typically only female part would be seen as extremely taboo.
