what's up with the pacman machine in the link click opening?
well friends, I'm about to cobble together some information that is so irrelevant to the main plot!!
(also: i came up with this theory prior to episode 11 coming out, but when it did, it only really solidified it for me).
more under the cut :) and spoilers for the most recent episode of link click (episode 11 season 2)
if you know me from my most recent link click post, you'll know i am unnaturally obsessed with the claw machines of the season 2 opening.
Tumblr media
But wait, what's that third machine in the middle? The yellow-ish one that's sort of dimly lit?
Tumblr media
it's a fucking pacman arcade machine.
Tumblr media
a pacman arcade machine that doesn't appear in the show itself.
being me, i had to go on the most unnecessary deep dive into what the hell the relevancy of this pacman machine could be. it's jammed between two of the claw machines in the intro but mysteriously absent in the episode itself. and while i don't have an explanation for THAT (if anyone has an idea, pls lmk!!), i do have some info on the game.
when you start up a game of pacman, this is the general visual you're going to get:
Tumblr media
In my opinion, the most important thing to note is the colours of the ghosts. Notice we've got three in that box: blue, pink, and orange. And outside we have red. Do these colours happen to remind you of anything— or rather, anyone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that's right. the link clickers are the ghosts in Pacman.
All jokes aside, I do think there's at least a bit of merit in this observation. Because red— i.e. qiao ling, is isolated from the power users.
(pink could be either of the Li twins, for convenience's sake i'm just going to assume it's Tianxi for one bit of speculation i'll explain later).
Why isolate one of the three original mains from the other two, and instead have a new character take her place?
Because, as I speculated before in my claw machine theory, qiao ling is not safe!!! in both the claw machines and Pacman, the symbol/motif associated with Qiao Ling has been positioned on the outside of the box.
Now, a character being in the box doesn't guarantee safety, you'll know this especially if you've seen the most recent ep (s2e11) and the trailer for ep12. However, it does provide something of a line of defence— i.e. the box is sort of a symbol for the fact that CXS, LG and LTX are power users.
Qiao Ling was the very first person to get possessed by red eyes, she is the most 'vulnerable' of the OG 3 in that sense. aside from her martial arts realness, she can't defend herself on a supernatural level. she no way of teleporting out of a fight like CXS or seeing into the future to predict her opponent's moves like LG could.
qiao ling, as a normie, is isolated from the power users and thus more at risk to being harmed by the enemy. For the ghosts, it's Pacman, and for the link clickers, it's this motherfucker:
Tumblr media
crustlord of the century Qian Jin.
I think pacman is supposed to symbolise him on account of 1. the yellow eyes and 2. the fact that he's out to get basically every single one of the ghosts:
QL
CXS
LG
LTX
Hence why this theory works a lot better with LTX as the pink ghost instead of LTC— Tianxi betrayed QJ, and the one thing he hates most is betrayal.
I feel as though the AI patterns of the Pacman ghosts sort of align with this too:
"Each of the four ghosts has their own unique artificial intelligence (A.I.), or "personality": Blinky (Red) gives direct chase to Pac-Man; Pinky (pink) and Inky (blue) try to position themselves in front of Pac-Man, usually by cornering him; and Clyde (orange) will switch between chasing Pac-Man and fleeing from him"
"Each ghost's name gives a hint to its strategy for tracking down Pac-Man: Blinky always chases Pac-Man, Pinky tries to get ahead of him, Inky uses a more complicated strategy to zero in on him, and Clyde alternates between chasing him and running away."
^^ those two quotes are from the Pacman wikipedia page, a robust source indeed. in the first quote I put the colours of the ghosts in bold and by their proper names for reference.
If we assume Pacman is QJ and Red ghost is QL, and we remember how she bitch slapped QJ in episode 3 season 2:
Tumblr media
I'd say that at the very least the AI behaviour + QL's actions are somewhat correlated. And i'd say that the AI behaviour of the other ghosts lines up with their respective characters, LG being strategic and CXS being a bit more chaotic in his approach. As for Xixi, well, we kind of haven't seen enough of her to say.
but "via," i hear you say, "Li Tianxi got fucking murk'd in episode 11, AND she's the one with red eyes! why isn't she the red ghost, and not qiao ling?"
I see you and I hear you. Both QL and LTX have associations with both red and pink, and in fact upon first coming up with this theory i thought LTX was the red ghost as well. But considering the placement of the Pacman machine (between the claw machines+around the rabbits, see my previous post for details on the stuffed rabbits and their relevancy) as well as official art and in-show costuming, I figured that it made more narrative sense (and theory sense) for QL to be the red ghost. Plus she's just more heavily associated with red than either of the Li twins, who are costumed in more light pastels
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
for reference, I put TC both in and out of drag above^^ and in his xixi cosplay, he wears almost entirely pink.
back to the theory. Qiao Ling's ghost is on the outside; and the stuffed rabbits that I'm almost positive symbolise her are piled on the outside of the claw machines. Surely this isn't a coincidence, right?
this all comes back to my theory that Qiao Ling, as the outsider of the group, the only one without powers, and the last to be informed of all the supernatural happenings, is going to meet a certain fate either by the end of s2 or around the start of s3. And I think the show has tried to set it up from the start.
Although Qiao Ling didn't become incredibly plot significant until I'd say about halfway through S1, we saw a few glimpses of her that were framed to highlight her vulnerability. Off the top of my head, I can definitely think of the horror-movie esque way s1e3 opened, where a strange man, later revealed to be Chen Xiao, approaches her from behind after appearing in a dark alley. Plus there is of course, her possession by LTC in s1e11. So from the get-go, she is framed as the odd one out of the main 3, and the most at risk.
then we get to the intro of s2, with the stuffed rabbits and the pacman machine, and it starts to come together, as stupid as that may sound. the writers are foreshadowing that something is gonna happen to Qiao Ling, and given the way everything connects, I'm of the opinion it could be death, or possibly grave injury.
that's all i've really got to say! curious as to what others might think of this, because it's all founded on the colours of a fckin Pacman game lol.
_
having seen the e12 trailer for s2 and qiao ling looking like she was gaining a power, I wonder how the finale is going to play out and if it will fit with the visuals and symbolism in the intro. oh well, we'll see!
also good LORD these posts take a long time to make!! let me know what you think, and also if you've got any clue as to why the Pacman machine appears in the intro but not the episode. Maybe IP reasons, although i don't see why they'd end up including it at all in the intro if copyright or IP was a concern. anyways, that's all!

That was a mistake
Dealers choice on with who
"That was a mistake."
Y/N's eyes widened at the voice that came from behind them. Perhaps it wasn't too wise to attempt to sneak up on a speedster, but they'd tried it anyway. Of course, their attempts were futile against the one and only Peter Maximoff, who had used his powers to move out of reach when he noticed Y/N trying to get the drop on him. "W-What was a mistake...?"
"Heh. Playing that card now that I've caught you? You never learn, disco ball."
Before they could react, they found themself on the couch, trapped in Peter's arms with their back against his chest, his legs locking around theirs. They contemplated using their own powers to try and level the playing field, but, before they could follow through on their plan, all ten of Peter's fingers began clawing at their belly.
"PEHEHEHEHETERRRRRRR!"
Peter grinned, playfully shaking his silver hair on their neck and making them squeal, hands lightly gripping his wrists but not fighting the tickling in the slightest. "You're not slick~ I saw you in the reflection of the Pac-Man machine."
"Thihihihis ihihihisn't fahahaaaiiirrr!"
"Hey! It's nohot my fault you're this ticklish! It's not my fault you keep provoking me to tickle you either!"
Y/N squirmed and covered their mouth when Peter squeezed at their sides. They could have swore the jerk was using his speed to make his hands vibrate, and he knew damn well it tickled them more. "WHAHAHAT AHABOUHOUT YOUHOUHOUR GAHAHAAAAME!"
"I like this one better! You're just a cute lil' giggle machine~"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dealer's choice: ler!Peter Maximoff 🥴 ANON THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN I LOVE THE CONCEPT!!! Thank you so so much for this sentence prompt!!! I hope you enjoy the drabble 🥺💖/p /gen
“Did you see the look on PAC’s face when he realized Alex broke up the pin? He was so-ho-ho piiiissed.”
Nick could barely finish speaking before he emitted a laugh that sounded more like an asthmatic wheeze, and everyone else joined in, the boisterous boom bouncing off the walls of The Elite locker room and making Alex’s ears ring. She’d never felt so out of place.
“He looked like an angry gremlin,” Karl piled on. He contorted his face and hands and made everyone guffaw and bark even louder. Alex rolled her eyes. Out of all of them, Karl annoyed her the most.
“Yeah, that was quick thinking, Alex,” Matt said. “I knew you wouldn’t let us down.”
He sent her a crooked, shit-eating grin. Had he not tacked on that last part, it might have been half a compliment. But he knew exactly what he was doing—and Alex did not have the patience for it.
“Us? Last time I checked, Kenny is the AEW Champion, not The Elite.”
The room went dead silent. Matt’s smirk vanished.
“Don’t act like you know anything about The Elite,” he bit. “You’ve been here all of two seconds. We were selling out the Tokyo Dome when you were still working bingo halls.”
“Whoa!” Kenny interjected. “Watch who the hell you’re talking to like that, Matt.”
The atmosphere went from shocked to tense; palpable. Matt’s jaw flexed, obviously embarrassed to have been put in his place in front of the boys. Alex smirked. He deserved it.
Kenny sighed into the quiet. “Alright, you know what? Everyone out.”
“What?” Gallows balked. “We gotta celebrate your big win, man—”
Don cut him off. “You heard what he said, everyone out!”
He herded them all toward the exit, and other than a few side-eyes and under-breath comments, they went without argument. It was the first time Alex had ever been thankful for Don to step in.
The door fell closed, and Alex and Kenny were left alone. His eyes were much softer than they’d been just a few seconds before.
“Are you alright?”
She nodded. “Yeah. It’ll take a lot more than that for Matt to get to me.”
“I know, but he shouldn’t have said it at all. It was out of line.”
“It’s Matt. What do you expect?” she returned. It made Kenny purse his lips in disappointment.
“He’s not out to get you, Alex. He’s just protective of his friends.”
Her eyes darkened. “Is there a reason he thinks he needs to protect you from me?”
He breathed out in frustration. “Come on, that’s not what I said.”
“Then what are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I wish you two would get along.”
Alex stubbornly crossed her arms and looked across the room. This wasn’t the first time he’d said that to her. She knew it wouldn’t be the last.
“Hey.” Kenny gently gripped her shoulders, and she looked back up at him. “I want you to feel like you’re a part of the group, Alex. And I know right now you don’t,” he quickly added before she could interject. “But give it time. You’ve been at home working on getting healthy, and the boys just want to be sure that you’re a team player. Which… I’m pretty sure you proved you are tonight.”
She lightly sucked her teeth. “I did that for you, not—”
“I know,” softly interrupted. “But any of them would have done the same thing.”
Alex rocked back on her heels and turned her eyes down to her shoes. She understood where Kenny was coming from, one thousand percent. But she didn’t think she should have to prove herself to “the boys.” And truthfully… she didn’t want to be a part of The Elite, either.
But she also didn’t want to get into an argument with Kenny, so she just let it go. “Well, thank you for putting Matt in his place,” she said. She wrapped her arms around his waist and drew herself close to him. “I’ll do my best to get along with him so long as he’s not an ass to me.”
“That’s all I want,” Kenny returned, and he placed a kiss on her lips that was perhaps meant to be short and sweet, but neither of them pulled away. He brought his hands to either side of her face, and she pressed her fingers into his back as she lightly sucked on his bottom lip. He smirked against her mouth. “You want to get in the shower with me?”
She pecked his lips again. “No.”
He pulled back in surprise. “Why not?”
“Because. I look way too good right now to ruin it.”
He flashed a crooked grin. She already knew exactly what he was thinking.
“Fine. I’ll just ruin it when we get home.”
* * * * * * * * * *
Alex had honestly hoped Kenny would ruin it when they got home. But unfortunately, they didn’t go home alone; Matt, Nick, and Don went with them. At least the Good Brothers had decided they’d rather go drink at the hotel bar.
“So, have you officially moved in yet, Alex?”
Nick smirked at her from across the kitchen island, his mouth full of pizza. They’d ordered some “late night celebratory pies,” as Kenny had put it, but Alex didn’t have much of an appetite. She didn’t dignify Nick with a response either, instead just pursing her lips and taking a sip of the red wine she’d poured herself. As if he wouldn’t have already known if she’d officially moved in; he was one of Kenny’s best friends.
“Shit, I forget that she doesn’t ‘officially’ live here,” Kenny commented, making air quotes around the word. “It already feels like you do. Isn’t most of your stuff here?”
“Most of my clothes are,” she answered. “But I still have an entire house full of stuff in Virginia.”
“Wasn’t your cousin interested in potentially buying from you?”
She shrugged a shoulder. “I suppose. She asked me if I was thinking about selling, but we haven’t discussed it.”
“Well… maybe you should.”
He sent her a grin. She chewed the inside of her lip. “Maybe,” she returned, and took another sip of wine.
“Speaking of official,” Don segued. “Is Alex officially with us now?”
Alex stiffened. She didn’t at all appreciate that Don had spoken as if she wasn’t standing right there. But she couldn’t really answer him, either.
“Come on, why wouldn’t she be?” Kenny returned.
“Because tonight was the first time she’s been on AEW programming in what—nine months?” He fixed Alex with his beady eyes and finally addressed her directly. “People still think of you as part of Best Friends. And even though you broke up that pin in Kenny’s interest, the fact of the matter is that you technically helped Orange, too.”
“What?” Kenny let out a loud, disbelieving laugh. “Don’t be ridiculous, Don! She would have done the exact same thing if it had been Orange going for the pin instead of PAC.”
“Would she?” Matt challenged. He glanced at Alex. “Would you?”
Kenny’s eyes widened at him. “Really, Matt?” he charged—but Alex spoke up.
“No, if they’re so concerned about it, then I’ll tell them.” She leaned forward on the island and looked Matt dead in the eye. “Of course I would have done the exact same thing if it had been Orange going for the pin instead of PAC. And you know why? Because I was out there in Kenny’s corner tonight, and tonight was the first time in months that I’ve seen or even spoken to Orange or any of the others. So no, I’m not a part of Best Friends anymore.”
It hurt to finally say that out loud; but it wasn’t anything Alex hadn’t already known deep down. She’d known it as soon as Kris had popped out of that claw machine a month ago… maybe even sooner. And their behavior toward her that night—Trent’s behavior—had only proven it.
Kenny wrapped an arm around her waist and placed a kiss on the side of her head. Matt, meanwhile, said nothing. It seemed she’d finally shut him up—for now.
Don nodded. “That’s all I need to hear.”
Alex shifted. Somehow, she doubted that.
“Well, now that that’s out of the way,” Nick interjected. “Do you guys have any ice cream?”
“Jesus, Nick,” Matt breathed; but Kenny perked up.
“We do, actually. Alex has turned me onto Blue Bell.” He started for the freezer. “Do you want some, baby? We still have mint chocolate chip.”
Alex shook her head. “No. I’m actually gonna head upstairs; I’m exhausted.”
Part of her knew that, by going to bed, she was only inviting them to talk about her more. But she didn’t care. Matt could spew whatever bullshit he wanted; Kenny knew where she stood, and that was all that mattered.
He nodded. “Okay. I’m honestly not far behind you.”
She put her wine glass in the sink and gave him a kiss on the way out of the kitchen. Her legs were tired as she climbed the stairs to their bedroom. Our bedroom, she realized she thought of it as, not Kenny’s bedroom. She wasn’t sure when she’d made that switch, but she was hyper-aware of it now after Kenny’s comment just a few minutes before. But just the thought of selling her house stressed her out; she had enough on her plate as it was, and she didn’t want to give any of it any more of her energy for the rest of the night—
Beep-beep!
But she got a text just as she crossed into the bedroom. She sighed and pulled her phone from the back pocket of her jeans—and stopped when she saw the screen.
It was from Trent.
I’m sorry about what I said tonight. I just didn’t know how to react.
Alex’s brow lowered as she read the message. She knew Trent, and something in her gut told her that he hadn’t sent that on his own. No; Kris had probably beat him over the head until he’d relented. He would have been better off not sending anything at all.
She purposefully opened the text so that he would get the “read” notification, and then she locked her phone, tossed it onto the bed, and went into the bathroom to do her nighttime routine. If there was one thing she definitely would not give any more of her energy to, it was that.
* * * * * * * * * *
The Dynamite following Double Or Nothing wasn’t until Friday, so Alex had nearly an entire week to mentally prepare herself. She needed the extra time. Because, in the interest of “publicly clearing up any confusion” about where her loyalties lied, Don had booked her a sit-down interview with Excalibur.
She’d been furious when he’d told her. So had Kenny—he’d set it up behind both their backs. But of course, Don had talked him down and convinced him that it was “the right move.” Afterward, Kenny had profusely apologized to her; but she’d just told him to forget it. She’d do the damn interview. She wanted to speak her mind.
But now that she was sitting across from Excalibur in one of the backstage areas at Daily’s Place, she felt like she might vomit.
He spoke to the camera as he opened up the interview. “I’m sitting here with Alex Hawthorne, who made a surprise return after a nine-month absence at Double Or Nothing this past Sunday… and before we get into the interview, Alex, I just want to say welcome back. You were gone rehabbing a shoulder injury, and you’ve clearly come back in fighting shape. I think we all did a double-take when you walked out with Kenny Omega on Sunday.”
Alex felt herself relax a bit. It felt good to be acknowledged. She hadn’t felt that in a while. “Thank you, Excalibur, I appreciate that. It feels good to be back, and I have come back in fighting shape—not just physically, but mentally, as well. When I found out that my shoulder needed surgery, it was a bitter pill to swallow. And I’m not gonna lie; I struggled with it at first. But I distinctly remember waking up in that post-op room after surgery, and I realized right then and there that I could either let this injury drag me down, or I could use it as an opportunity to come back even better than before. And I promise you—and the entire AEW women’s division—that this isn’t the same Alex Hawthorne who competed in that ring nine months ago.”
Excalibur nodded. “Which begs the question: when can we expect you back in the ring?”
She breathed out. “Soon,” she nodded, her tone determined. “I still have some work to do, but it’ll be soon.”
“And we all look forward to it,” he said. “But you mentioned that you’re not the same Alex Hawthorne you were nine months ago. We’re used to seeing you at ringside in support of Best Friends… however, you returned in Kenny Omega’s corner for the AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing, a match that also included Orange Cassidy. Is it safe to say that this new and improved Alex Hawthorne has moved on from Best Friends?”
Alex’s heart jumped into her throat. There it was, the million-dollar question, the reason for this entire interview, and if she didn’t know any better, she’d think Don had fed that line directly to Excalibur. But he didn’t like Don any more than she did—and she needed to give an answer. So, she did.
“It’s safe to say that, yeah.”
Her stomach churned and she looked down at her hands in her lap. It was out there now. She couldn’t take it back.
“Well, I have to ask,” Excalibur started, and she flicked her eyes back up at him. “You interfered in the match on Sunday and most likely prevented PAC from winning the AEW World Championship. But you also prevented Orange from taking the pin. Is there no part of you that did that for him?”
Alex’s brow lowered. First Don, and now this? Why was everyone so confused about her motive? “No. I did that for Ken—”
“Who cares who ya did it for!”
She was abruptly cut off by an angry, distinctly accented voice, and then PAC unexpectedly stalked into the interview area. He fixed Alex with a wild-eyed glare. “It’s like Excalibur said… you cost me the AEW World Championship.”
Alex leaned away from him in her chair as he moved closer. The entire sight of him was jarring, that ubiquitous scowl of his contorting his face, his dark, wet hair dripping water down his bare chest. She looked him over in confusion. Why was he already in his gear, ready to go? He and Penta had a match that night against the Young Bucks, but the show didn’t start for another two hours.
Excalibur tried to intervene. “PAC, we’re doing an interview here—”
But PAC just talked over him. “I know you’ve been gone a long time, Alex. And I have to admit, you do look good. So, here’s a bit of advice: instead of interfering in his matches, why don’t ya stick to being Kenny Omega’s arm candy.”
Alex’s eyes darkened. Suddenly, all her surprise turned to anger. “Arm candy?”
“You heard me,” he spat.
“Do you even own regular clothes? Or do you just live in your gear dripping wet like you emerged from the Atlantic Ocean?”
“Hey, PAC!”
Another person interrupted then, and Alex and PAC both looked over to find the Young Bucks, Brandon Cutler, and the Good Brothers stalking toward them. But it wasn’t just them. They had Rey Fenix—and it looked like he’d already been jumped.
Matt smirked. “Did you lose something?”
PAC growled in his throat. He charged toward them—but they dumped Fenix to the floor and retreated, laughing as they did. Nick held up his hands. “We’re saving our energy for the match tonight!”
PAC let them go, choosing instead to help his friend. Meanwhile, Alex jumped up and ran after them—the interview was over.
“Hey!” They all turned to look back at her, but her focus was zeroed in on Matt. This was his doing, she knew it. “What the fuck did you do that for?”
He scoffed. “To send a message, obviously. Come on, Alex… I thought you were with us now?”
He flashed another crooked smirk, and then they all started off again, patting each other on the back and hyping the Bucks up for the match that night. And Alex just stood and watched them go, all the while realizing that she was with them now—and she’d all but said it for the entire world to hear.
* * * * * * * * * *
“You ready to head home?”
Alex looked up at Kenny, re-emerging from her thoughts. She nodded. “Please.”
He gave her a sympathetic smile and held out his hand, and she took it and let him pull her up and lead her out of the locker room. It was the end of the night, and she’d been ready to head home before a single match had even been contested.
To her great surprise, Dynamite had started off by airing the footage of her interview. Alex had barely been able to watch, knowing what was coming, what she’d said. But when it was all said and done, it didn’t even feel like it was about her anymore. The interview had led right into the tag match between the Young Bucks and PAC and Penta—the story became the Super Elite’s attack on Fenix, not her return. And Alex wasn’t sure if she was more relieved that they’d distracted from the fact that she’d basically disowned Best Friends, or more angered that they’d taken away from everything else she’d said.
“I am ready to just relax and spend the weekend alone with you,” Kenny said as they walked down the hall. He grinned at her. “I told everyone to lose my number.”
Alex returned his smile, and Kenny lifted the back of her hand to his lips; but she barely noticed as he kissed her. She was too distracted by the group of people who had appeared in the corridor.
Best Friends. All of them. And it didn’t take long for Trent to say something.
“Where’re you going, Alex? Kris has a Dark match. Oh, wait—that’s right. You’ve moved on from us.”
“Dude,” Kris chastised and lightly smacked his shoulder. “Don’t.”
Kenny scoffed. “I’d listen to your alien friend, Trent.”
“No one was talking to you,” Orange returned.
Kenny narrowed his eyes at him. Alex squeezed his hand in protest; the last thing she needed was for him to go on one of his power trips. Thankfully, he let it go.
“I’ve already taken care of you, so I won’t embarrass you in front of your friends,” he dismissed. “Come on,” he said, and he started to pull Alex past them; but Trent just couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
“Was that you giving that interview? Or were Kenny and Don pulling the strings on your mouth?”
“Fuck, Greg,” Chuck breathed—but Alex spoke over him.
“Was that you who sent that text Sunday night, or did one of them make you send it?”
She glared a hole through Trent, unwavering and angry, waiting for him to say something for himself. Anything. But he just bit down on his jaw, silent. Alex scoffed. It was just as she’d suspected.
“What text?” Kenny asked in confusion. Alex didn’t take her eyes off Trent as she answered.
“Trent sent me a text after Double Or Nothing apologizing for being a dick to me before your match. He said he ‘just didn’t know how to react’ to seeing me.”
“I didn’t know how to react,” Trent fired back.
“Oh, so it was just the apology that was bullshit, then.”
He breathed out and looked stubbornly away, nothing to say again. And as she continued to stare at him, Alex realized that she wasn’t surprised or even hurt by his reaction. Instead, she was vindicated in everything she’d been feeling.
Her gaze sharpened. “But since you asked so nicely; yeah, that was me giving that interview, one hundred percent. And you have no room to be angry about it, Trent, because whether you want to admit it or not, you all moved on from me months ago.”
Chuck’s brow furrowed in confusion. In hurt. “What? Alex—”
“Save it,” Kenny cut him off. “Good luck in your match, Kris,” he added, and then he tugged on Alex’s hand, and she turned and went with him, ignoring the way her sinuses burned.
shigaraki x reader headcanons while i eat brownies and worry about work
considering how tomura reacted to re-destro kidnapping giran (pissed off that twice’s feelings are being toyed with), i firmly believe that he is not one for beating around the bush or playing games with someone if he feels there is mutual interest. he suffers from a lot of self-doubt, trust issues, and is self-conscious about his appearance, so it will take him a while to come to terms with any romantic feelings he has for you, and even worse than that, he will be in serious denial if someone hints to him that you feel the same way. but tomura gets overwhelmed by his feelings easily, and he may even be the one to confess to you in the most dramatic, yells-in-your-face-but-is-blushing-and-wants-to-kiss-you type of way. if you confess to him, he quite literally freezes and needs to process what he’s heard for a moment. but either way, once all cards are laid out on the table and you both reciprocate each other’s feelings, tomura holds nothing back. you are his lover from that moment on, and he states it loud and clear.
runs hot and cold with PDA. he generally needs to get used to being touched, but he sure as fuck adores it when he gets his first taste. you just have to be mindful of reading his moods — sometimes he wants to feel you touching him, and other times he feels overwhelmed by it and wants to be left alone. he always notices when you respect his boundaries, and even though he never really brings it up, he certainly appreciates your efforts and shows it in his own way by growing more comfortable around you and letting you touch him more.
whether or not he decides to partake in PDA doesn’t depend on the presence of his peers in the slightest. he’s totally up for making out with you or doing whatever he wants, whether other people are there or not. and if he is feeling frisky, they better turn the hell away or vacate the premises, because he’s not putting on a show for anyone.
tomura is like a cat. there are times when he will plop down right beside you on the couch and ends up with his head in your lap or spooning you, and other times he lurks around nearby like a gremlin and does his own thing. the common denominator is that tomura is clingy, and shows it in different ways depending on his mood. he just likes to be around you!
doesn’t really mind if you aren’t as obsessed with video games as he is. he might actually be a little thankful for it because he can get very heated while playing, and he doesn’t want you to bear the brunt of his bad mood. as long as you understand his interest and don’t criticize him for it, he’s fine. he definitely enjoys a multiplayer session of mario cart or whatever with you if you wanna indulge him! he’ll be a bit of a sore loser if he loses though, so you gotta be prepared to hound him with smooches to make him forget about it.
tomura is a big ass neet and spoiled manchild, and he never gave too much thought into his lack of independence until you came around. suddenly, he’s realizing he wants to improve himself. he’ll be more conscientious of the messes he makes to make your life a little easier, and boy does he do a 180 on his grooming habits. he also figures out that doing domestic stuff with you is just one more way of spending time with you (needy, i told you), so he’ll gladly go out with you to do food shopping or help out in the kitchen. he particularly loves your praise when his offhand suggestions lead to dishes that taste even more delicious than usual, or if he straight up makes something himself. don’t ask him to do laundry though. that word is not in his vocabulary and never will be.
drags you along for arcade visits 24/7 and gets a huge kick out of seeing how competitive you can get. start yelling at the pac man machine and he’s watching you with a huge smirk on his face. he’s the #1 player of all the machines there so he thinks your efforts are cute. if you find yourself wanting a toy from one of those claw machine games, you best bet he’s going to do whatever it takes to win it, and there’s no convincing him to stop until he wins. point out that he can just destroy the machine with his powers and he’ll give you a dirty look. this gesture isn’t just about winning to him, it’s about showing you how much effort he puts into making you happy.
did i mention he will go above and beyond for you in every way possible? even during his stint as a homeless vagabond with the LoV, he would be scheming to get everyone out of that situation as soon as he can, just so he doesn’t have to see you struggle anymore. after re-destro becomes his bitch, tomura makes sure you have the best suite in the entire headquarters. you basically have 24/7 access to re-destro’s credit card and he is more than willing to accommodate you, and he will suck up to you just as much as he does to tomura.
he enjoys someone who doesn’t take his crabby backtalks to heart, and someone who can give as good as they get. he likes playful banter with lots of sass, and you should know that he never really means what he says when he’s in a sassy mood. he likes to tease and he becomes rather flirty when he’s comfortable with the relationship, but it’s more of a direct way, like pointing out your blushes. basically, being in a relationship with tomura is like being a married couple for 60 years who are both equally done with each other’s shit but can still laugh about it at the end of the day.
you are the only person who can calm him down. whether he is in the midst of a tantrum or overwhelmed by the exhilaration of using his quirk, only you can bring him back to relative normalcy. he trusts you completely and unconditionally, and when you say he’s gotten out of hand, he believes you. this is a total novelty to him, because he’s so used to being careless with himself and others. but with you around, he’s taken far greater care to treat himself better, to not injure himself as much (so as to not worry you), and he won’t unleash the full extent of his powers with you around. caress his cheeks and speak firmly but with care, and he’ll be putty in your hands.
that’s not to say he will be entirely submissive to your demands, though. tomura is still a powerful figurehead, and sometimes he needs to assert his dominance and show his followers that he has the ultimate say in how he conducts his business. he might be rather brusque and hurtful towards you if you overstep your boundaries or catch him in a truly terrible mood, but he will always feel very guilty as soon as he sees your expression morph into one of hurt and betrayal. he will sulk in privacy for a while and will avoid you for some time. the path to reconciliation starts with him lurking in your vicinity more and more often, not really talking to you but always watching you. you'll catch him looking at you many times, and at first he will quickly look away, but eventually he will not shy away from continuing to stare at you. he’s a buffoon with terrible communication issues. you usually have to take initiative to approach him and talk about what happened. he’ll be grouchy about it, but the issue eventually gets resolved. and when it does, the clinginess is amped up to extremes. tomura becomes your shadow, he’ll want you to sit in on all of his meetings with the higher-ups, he’ll spend time with you and MAY even take you out on a real date, and he’ll be more mindful of how snappy he gets.
Coffee Shop Au: Prompto’s Ending
Catch the first part here (Note: this strays very much from the coffee au beginning)
Catch Noctis’ ending here
You elected to stay with Prompto. He was a kind, passionate young man who you were having genuine fun with.
Noctis was your best friend, but you were starting to develop genuine feelings for Prompto, and you quietly knew that Noct was trying to give you the chance to act on them.
As you saw Noctis leave the pizza joint, you turned back to Prompto, greeting his bright smile with one of your own. In the dim lighting of the pizza place, you could just barely make out a light blush on his cheeks, although you weren’t sure if it was for the same reasons as you.
There was a slightly awkward silence now that Noctis was gone, and you found yourself just a bit unsure of what to say now that it was you two alone. Prompto seemed a little flustered as well, but he was quick to try and talk to you.
“Oh, earlier you mentioned you like games other than King’s Knight, right?” Prompto asked, turning his body to face you in the booth. He seemed so much closer than before, especially now that there was nowhere else to divert your attention to.
You flashed him a smile despite your growing blush, “Yeah, it’s kind of hard not to, especially being friends with Noct.” You told him, suddenly having a hard time looking him in the eyes.
Prompto beamed, “Well, I know a good 24 hour arcade that’s only a few minutes from here if you wanna hang out there?” He asked, doing his best to sound nonchalant. “I heard they just added a few new games, too!”
You hummed slightly, a small smile growing across your cheeks. “... Sure. I haven’t been to one in ages.”
Prompto’s smile grew as he eagerly climbed out of the booth. He smiled at you, extending a hand to help you out, “Let’s go, then,” He said, his cheeks flushed with excitement and his voice positively bubbling.
You smiled right back at him when you took his hand, and the awkwardness faded as you both grew excited. As you two left the building, you realized with a start that he never dropped your hand.
Prompto glanced at you curiously at your moment of silence and followed your gaze, catching sight of your interlocked hands. He jumped slightly, his eyes big and cheeks flushing as he dropped your hand, “Shit--sorry! I hadn’t realized, uh, sorry…” He managed, stuttering left and right as he scratched the back of his neck. “Sorry, I uh, don’t usually do things like that…” He let out an awkward little chuckle, looking at you nervously.
You felt your own cheeks heating up, but you managed a small smile. “That’s alright, I didn’t mind.” You said with a shrug, meeting his eyes.
Prompto jolted again, caught offguard. He was quick to recover, smiling at you as you both headed down the sidewalk and launching into another conversation. Neither of you said anything when his pinky brushed against yours and you gently slid your hand into his. Your cheeks flushed a bright red as he gently squeezed your hand, smiling away while he talked despite his own flushed cheeks.
The arcade was all colors and blinking lights, full of aged game themes and decade old carpeting. It felt perfect, capturing the full arcade feeling from your youth, as though you were standing in a piece from a time capsule.
You looked up at Prompto, your hands still clasped with his as your smiled. “Should we try Pac-Man, first?”
His responding smile and the twinkle in his eyes were bright enough to light up the entire arcade. “Let’s do it.”
The two of you bounced from machine to machine, falling over each other and laughing away as you both either failed horribly or feigned competitions. Sometimes you would reach over and nudge his joystick or block his view just to try and win, and he would always gasp as if it were a surprise and try to push you away with a massive smile spread across his flushed cheeks.
Eventually, you two found your way to the claw machines. You were pointing to a cute chocobo plush through the glass, smiling at it and gushing about how adorable it was.
Prompto took one look at it, agreeing wholeheartedly. “I’m gonna win that--just for you!” He announced, getting that same determined glint in his eye from earlier.
You smiled brightly at him, your cheeks heating up again as he pushed a few coins into the machine. Prompto was incredibly focused on trying to win that chocobo, his brows furrowed and his tongue sticking out of his mouth. You found yourself watching him more than the machine, wondering if it would be too weird to take a picture.
“Damn! I missed it…” He huffed, frowning. He paused. “I’m gonna try again.”
Prompto ended up trying three more times, losing each and every single time. You ended up dragging him away from the claw machine as he whined about that stupidly cursed game. You hoped that he would forget about it, but when you stopped to visit the restroom, you came out to find that Prompto had used up another three games-worth of tokens trying to win you a chocobo.
This walk away from the claw machine was much more shameful than the last, although you managed to distract him with a surprising kiss on the cheek, blushing away. “You’re sweet, Prom. I can’t say anyone else has tried to do something like that for me, especially not that many times,” You said the last bit with amusement, although you were sure that the kiss on his cheek overshadowed anything else.
Prompto was blushing, too. “I can’t see why they wouldn’t.” He said softly, looking at you with his own sheepish expression. “Though it would be a bit better if I actually won.” He said, looking sadly back towards the claw machines.
You smiled up at him. He didn’t need to win you anything at all, just the effort and attempt was way more than enough for you. It was such a sweet thing to do, and the more you thought about it, the more you wanted repay the favor somehow. There was only one way to do so.
When it was his turn to run to the restroom (saying something about a tiny bladder and too much soda), you were quick to run to the claw machines. You saw the tiny chocobo that he had been trying to get, but you wanted to go bigger.
And then you saw the unreasonably large, absolutely ridiculous sized plush toys in the largest of the claw machines. And there was a chocobo. It was easily the size of your torso, but you had never seen such a perfect stuffed animal for Prompto.
And unlike him, the Claw Machine Gods were in your favor. By the time he found where you were, you had a massive grin on your face and the world’s largest, plushest chocobo in your arms. And--it only took one game to win!
“Hey, Prom.” You beamed, “I got you something.”
He looked like he was going to cry. There were genuine tears in his eyes as he gently took the massive chocobo from you, giving it a massive hug and smiling as though it was the best thing to ever happen to him. The sight of his cute smile, the flush on his cheeks, and his glistening, cornflower blue eyes made your own smile stretch so wide that it hurt. “It’s so… fricken… CUTE!” He exclaimed, his grip on it tightening. And then, his arms were around you, giving you a bone crushing hug. “Thank. You. So. Much! This is--the best thing ever, oh my gosh!”
You were blushing like crazy, your own smile bright as he let go. The hug had caught you off guard, but you craved even more of it the second his arms left you. “No problem, I’ve always been pretty good at those things,” You smiled awkwardly, feeling rather sheepish. “I would always win stuff for me and Noct when we were kids, it’s nice to see that I haven’t lost my touch.” You tried to brush it off like it was no big deal, but even your lackluster acting couldn’t keep down the butterflies in your stomach.
Prompto looked like he was about to say something else--something big, judging by that determined look in his eyes and the blush on his cheeks, but you were too shy to dwell on the subject.
“Uhm, come on, I think there’s a ski-ball game calling our names!” You managed to say, grabbing his hand and tugging him away as you blushed furiously. He went along with you, dropping whatever it was he was going to say. You weren’t sure if you felt better or worse for it, but within a few more games, the thought was out of your mind.
By the end of the night, you were both leaning on each other, smiling away as you ate slightly stale arcade nachos, dipped in equally questionable queso dip. It was a mediocre snack at best, but it was the kind of mediocrity that helped make the moment so special.
“You know,” Prom began, “I always have fun at these arcades, but I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun.” He threw a smile towards you, grabbing another stale chip.
His statement brought a light blush to your cheeks yet again. “Me, too,” You said, looking at him. “I love these places, but I dunno, I guess tonight was a little different?” You leaned back a little bit on the floor, your hand a few inches away from his.
You almost jumped when you felt his hand against yours again. Prompto’s smile was more gentle as he looked at you. “Yeah, I guess it was. You know, no one’s ever won me something before. Let alone a big, puffy chocobo.” His gaze slid to the third member of your apparent trio: the overstuffed chocobo that seemed to be precariously perched next to the cheese dip. It seemed to be remarkably indifferent to the mood of the situation.
“Well,” You said, throwing a smile at him, “I promise to win you all the chocobos, Prom.” You told him decisively, grinning.
He groaned, “But now I feel bad! I should at least win you something to remember tonight by!” He exclaimed, pouting.
You laughed a little, admiring the way his lips curled under his pout. Even now, you couldn’t help but gaze at him as though he were the most beautiful thing in the world. Although, you could easily argue that he was.
"It’s okay, I think the memories themselves are good enough for me,” You told him, grinning. “That and… stale, questionable nachos.” You added, taking a massive bite of a chip.
Prompto smiled, but he gazed at you thoughtfully, humming slightly.
“What?” You asked, laughing slightly as you swallowed.
“You know? I think I do have something for you!”
“Oh, yeah?” You asked, playfully nudging him.
“Yeah, although technically you did win it--”
“Oh my gods, I am not accepting that chocobo--”
“It’s not the chocobo!” He laughed, “Just, close your eyes. Trust me.”
As you looked at him, your own eyes meeting his blue ones, he looked serious. Far more serious than he had earlier. “Alright,” You began, closing your eyes with a smile on your face, “But if it’s that chocobo or those nachos--”
You were cut off by a pair of lips capturing your own. They were soft and slightly chapped, but you easily leaned into the kiss. It was slow and gentle, but a muffled sense of excitement followed it: the excitement of a new love and the energizing delinquency that accompanied an arcade late at night.
You two parted with reddened cheeks and wide eyes, foreheads still touching.
You only barely managed to stutter out a response, “I--thought you said that it was something I won?” You asked, stumbling over your words.
He managed a cheesy smile, “Maybe you won… my heart.”
There was a beat of silence as you stared at him, silent. Even the stuffed chocobo’s permanent gaze of gleeful ignorance showed its disappointment at his joke. And then, you cracked, a dumb smile appearing on your face.
“Oh my gods, you’re an idiot.” You managed, despite your massive grin. He was an idiot, but now he was your idiot.
This is a little ficlet for @drippingpen / @letlancelive. It was supposed to be a Christmas present but I’m trash and late so whoops, happy new year?
Have Keith and Lance going on a cute arcade date!
“I let you win, you know.” Lance said, pouting at his score sheet.
“Sure you did,” Keith smirked at his 1st place in laser tag. He only scored ten points above Lance, but a win was a win.
“Yeah! I was protecting you from the children!” Lance explained, “If it weren’t for me, they would have destroyed you.”
“Maybe not destroyed, but I’ll give it to you since they did all gang up on you.”
Lance shook his head, “Being ‘good with kids’ is a slippery slope for five eight year olds pinning you down and shooting you repeatedly.”
“You trash talked them.”
“I was trying to make to bond with them! I didn’t know they were tiny evil soldiers.”
Keith rolled his eyes and took his boyfriend’s hand, “What else do you want to do?”
The boys scanned the small arcade while neon lights drew their eyes to each game. A group of children ran around, feet pounding on the eccentric patterned carpet, asking each other for extra coins while their parents watched from the tables. Lance and Keith were probably the oldest players in the space, but they wouldn’t let that ruin their fun.
After roaming through the maze of pinball machines and vintage Pac-Man, the couple landed at an air hockey table. Space-themed with blinking red and blue lights on either side, it was begging for contenders. Four coins for two rounds, Lance smirked, “How about this?”
Keith planted himself at the far end of the table, where the red lights danced on his face as he gripped the paddle, “Let’s go.”
Lance slid the coins into the machine as he said, “Don’t be a sore loser.”
Keith scoffed as he watched Lance take his side, starting with the puck. Keith squinted, “Just start,”
“Whatever you say, sore loser,” Lance let the puck loose.
“I’m not a-”
Within the moment, Lance got a point.
“That’s not fair!”
As the electronic scoring charts spazzed at Lance’s side was given one point. Keith scowled and he took his turn starting with the puck.
No more than two minutes later, Lance won 7-4.
Keith groaned, “Why are you so good at this?!”
Lance gestured to the score chart, which was resetting itself for a rematch. The table turned on again, the electric buzzing began as the handles and puck slide with the static. Lance smiled, “Maybe it was beginner's luck. Go again?”
Keith huffed, “Yes.”
The following match took more time, as the two sides were already warmed up. Still, skill trumps passion and Lance won again.
Keith crossed his arms, “I hate this game.”
“Aw,” Lance skipped over and embraced his pouty boyfriend, “Let’s play another game. I bet you can pulverize me at those racing games.”
Finding the nearest Mario Kart system, Keith grabbed Lance’s hand and pulled, “We are going on Rainbow Road.”
“No!”
They hop from game to game, Lance winning at the shooting one while Keith does oddly well at the mini basketball hoops. With only a handful of tokens left, Lance stopped at the claw machines.
He pressed himself against the glass, peering down to see all the stuffed animals eligible to be won.
“Look at that little snowman!” Lance pointed in the direction of a dozen snowmen plushies, “These games are always rigged but my cousin, Joey, he’s a master at them. I think he’s a magician or something.”
“Lemme see,” Keith peered at one of the more available toys, a small snowman with a blue scarf and Christmas-themed chef hat. It was ridiculous and useless, but it was only two coins to play.
Lance scoffed, “Good luck,”
Keith took a breath then moved the claw around the cage. Luckily the claw was small and thick enough to give them a chance, unlike the loose, thin claws that couldn’t hold anything if their lives depended on it. Keith took the time to align the toy and the grabber as perfectly as he could before he pressed the button to seal the deal.
The claw held on to the toy for only a moment before slipping through it’s grasp.
Lance sighed dramatically as the claw returned empty, “That’s how they get you Keithy-boy, now come on, we have like ten coins left. Wanna play air hockey again?”
Keith grabbed two more coins, “Just...let me try one more time.”
“Whatever you say, but that’s just two less coins for me to mow your ass.”
“I don’t think that’s how that phrase is used,” Keith put the two coins in the machine, and grabbed the handle for the claw that stared him down.
Steady, he positioned the claw, then he walked around to the side of the machine to be sure he was right. Happy with himself, he came back and pressed the button.
With their breaths held, they watched as the claw reached, closed, and captured the snowman. With wide eyes, they watched as the snowman was lifted up away from it’s fellow prizes, carried over and dropped into the receiving slot.
“Ohhhhh!” Lance yelled and jumped.
Keith laughed, “For you.”
Lance hugged the tiny toy to his chest, “Ah! That’s so awesome! Now I have to get you one!”
Keith realized his mistake, “Oh-uh-you don’t have to.”
Lance was already putting the coins into the slot, “Nah, it’ll be easy, you got yours in two tries, I bet I can get it in one.”
Keith laughed nervously and looked around, “Hey, how about we play another shooting game? That Jurassic Park one is finally open.”
“Maybe after,” Lance focused intently on the placement of the claw, “I’m gonna get this guy! He’ll match mine!”
Keith gave up and attempted to help Lance position the claw as accurately as possible.
Four tries later, Lance hung his head in shame as he approached the front desk clerk and bought three dollars worth of tokens.
Cup full of coins, Keith tugged on Lance’s jacket as he marched back to the claw machine. Keith bartered, “Listen, you don’t have to get one for me. Actually, I-I don’t want one.”
Lance looked down to Keith, painful expression on his face, “Keith, at this point, it doesn’t matter if you want one or not. It’s pride, babe. I’ve worked this hard, who am I if I give up now?”
“Three dollars richer.”
Lance shook his head. He stopped in front of the machine, it’s pink lights and cute flower designs striking fear in his heart. He cracked his knuckles, “It’s time.”
Keith leaned against the machine, “Here we go.”
Lance inserted the money and hunched down. As Keith stood on the side, Lance was navigated on where to go.
The claw dropped, grabbed, and slipped.
Lance banged his head on the button in distress.
Suddenly, Keith tugged on his collar, pulling him up. He pointed inside the machine.
Lance gasped, how could he be so blind?
With all of Lance’s attempts grabbing the snowman that matched his own perfectly, he didn’t see the one across the cage, a snowman with a red scarf and black top hat. A new friend. The plushie was sitting face down, completely free of anything in its way.
“He’s ready.” Keith said, as if commenting on the ripeness of a new harvest of fruits.
Lance swallowed and began aligning the claw for the new goal.
He looked at Keith, who inspected the scene. With completely trust, Lance waited for Keith’s nod, then pressed the button.
They watched as the claw easily slide down, and grabbed hold of the toy tightly as if it was meant to be. It carried it over like a helicopter staging a rescue, and safely delivered it home.
Lance shouted and whoops as he collected his prize. He giddly shoved it in Keith’s hands, who was doubled over laughing at his boyfriend’s display.
“Okay, okay,” Keith wipes his eyes, “You won, are we done with this now?”
Lance nodded, “Oh yeah, for sure, let’s go.”
Later in the car, the two were comparing their prizes while parked in the lot. The stationary lamps posts created spotlights in the night while the heavy noise of the motor buzzed in the background.
Pointing to the plushie in Keith’s hands, Lance said, “His name is Seb, he’s our son.”
“Is yours our son too? Because his name is Albert.” Keith said.
Lance shook his head, “No, no, Albert is our son in law. They are gay for each other.”
“I’ll dig that.” Keith agreed.
“I had fun,” Lance smiled, leaning towards Keith in the driver’s seat.
Keith arched an eyebrow, “Even though I beat you at pretty much everything?”
Lance groaned, “I was trying to have a moment!”
Laughing, Keith leaned forward and kissed Lance softly.
Humming into the kiss, Lance pulled back and nodded, “And I totally mowed your ass at air hockey.”
“I’m leaving you.” Keith pulled back and started up the car, putting it into reverse, “I’m never playing anything with you ever again.”
“Ha! Told you! You’re a sore loser!”
“Get out of my car.”
“I love you too.”
Cutie Reviews: Gacha Gacha crate Feb 19
I’m not actually sure if I got the March GGC yet, but I’ll be looking after I finish this to see if I did. If not then I'll be starting up my september box reviews!
Tumblr media
(In case you were wondering, I don’t show the cover image of the pamphlet because it’s always a faded image of various Gachapon machines and that would get boring :P)
The featured topic in this months pamphlet is about Retro video games from Namco, to go with an item in the crate. It talks about 11 games, including:
Galaxian - a game there you control a spaceship at the bottom of the screen and shoot at various enemies while avoiding their attacks. Released in 1979.
Pac-Man - Everybody knows this game : D I played it a lot when I was a child. You control the little yellow Pac-Man and eat all the pellets before the ghosts get you! Released 1980.
Xevious - Some kind of piloting game where you blast various targets. Released 1982.
Mappy - You play as Mappy, a police mouse trying to find the items stolen by the Meowkies and taken to their mansion. Released 1982.
Dig Dug - The player must rid of the underground monsters by either blowing them up with an air pump or dropping rocks on them! Released 1982.
The Tower of Druaga - The player controls Gilgamesh, a hero who arrives to save the maiden Ki from the demon Druaga and must go through his 60-floor tower. Released 1984.
Valkyrie No Boken - Everyone lives together in Marvel Land in harmony, and together they work to improve it. Released in 1986.
Family Stadium - Now-a-days known as Famista, this is a series of baseball games. Released in 1986.
Dragon Buster - In the name of his father, Clovis goes on a quest to save Princess Celia from a dragon. Released 1985.
Super Xevious Gamp No Nazo - A challenging riddle game released in 1986. Okay! Now it’s time to get on with the review!
Mt. Fuji Figure
Tumblr media
Our first gacha is a relatively simple one. It’s a figure of Mt. Fuji, one of the highest peaks in the world and a very popular icon of Japan. This series is by Epoch and each one costs 300 yen.
This set included 4 different colorful displays one could get... and I can’t actually understand the list, so I’m not sure what mine is.
Rating: ♥ ♥
The detail on it is really nice, and it’s very clean looking. But (and I say this in hopes of offending no one) I don’t really care for it. I mean I really like Japanese culture and stuff, but I’m not really into these types of figures and I don’t see myself using it for any sort of purpose or doing anything with it. I don’t even think I’ll keep it.
Patient Cats
Tumblr media
These little kitties are trying to patiently wait for someone to turn off/down various noise makers. This series is by Epoch and each is available for 200 yen.
There was 3 types available: television, boombox, or telephone, each in 2 colors of object and cat.
Tumblr media
I got the white television kitty :3
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
What makes this really fun is that not only are you getting 2 items for one gacha, but you can also use them together or separately. They would be perfect for Re-ment displays!
The detailing on the two pieces is also really nice. There’s no paint issues or anything. It’s a really cute, simple display.
Pokemon Clinging Cable Cover
Tumblr media
Cable covers must be really popular as of late huh? I keep finding them in my crates these days. I’m beginning to get used to them though, they are awfully cute. It’s by Kitan Club, and each is available for 300 yen. You can see whose available on the checklist in the pic.
I would have been happy getting anybody really. I really like Gengar and Eevee, but Pikachu is a must, and who doesn’t love the three original starters? My favorite of the trio is Bulbasaur, but I collected stuff of all of them when I was younger. I was pretty much happy just getting something Pokemon related.
So basically, you just pull apart the white thingy and put a coord inside, then stick it back together and attach your Pokemon to it.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides how difficult it was to get the thingy open to put the cord inside, I think this is really cute! I decided to swap Umbreon with Charmander, and yes My Melody is still hanging on strong! She seems happy with her new friend.
Osechi Mascot
Tumblr media
Inspired by the delicious, tiered foods eaten on New Years in Japan with loved ones. This set is single tiered, but from how it’s made I feel like you can stack the layers together. I could be wrong though.
This one came with an odd slip of paper, but I don’t really know what it means. If I had to guess I’d say it either lists materials used to make the items in this, or it lists the foods?
There is 5 available, and this series is by Toy Spirits. The one I got includes three crab claws, flower carrots, Tuna/salmon or some kind of fish, simmered vegetable, and three dumplings or rice or sesame balls or something? There is also a lobster and fish set, a scallop with tons of vegetables, a cooked fish (maybe sea bream?) and one I can’t really identify.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
See this type of figure I really like! I love food based things like this. Everything is plastic, but to my surprise the balls are squishy! It’s really fun to poke~
It would also make for a fun re-ment item... and maybe it’s just me, but there’s something really fun about putting the lid on and taking it off.
Floral Card Pouch Miniature
Tumblr media
Based on Japanese Hanafuda (flower cards), this little artistic looking pouch is perfect for keeping money, cards, or other little items you often lose track of or want to carry around but worry over it’s small size.
This is another Epoch series, and there was 12 available consisting of 6 designs in either red or black. I got the red version. Each one costs 200 yen.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I think this is really sweet looking, even though it’s a little bent up from being in the capsule. It’s very well made, sort of floppy/flimsy, but the material and inside lining feel very nice. It’s really easy to close and open, and the fabric is a little flexible.
Namco Museum Cassette Pin Collection
Tumblr media
Our final item for the month and the one related to the featured article above. As a girl obsessed with video games I’m a sucker for wearable accessories based on them, and I’ve really been into pins as of late too so this is perfect.
Each one comes in a little box with images from the game print on it, and a tiny itty-bitty description of it on the back with a screenshot. The pin resembles an old game cartridge/cassette with an image of the game and some designs and logo over it.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Dig Dug wasn’t a game I played a lot, I think I might have played it once or twice but it’s been years. It wasn’t like Pac-Man or the Mario (Donkey Kong?) games, which were everywhere. The laundry mat I used to go to as a child still has the arcade machines!
Anyway, I was still really excited. I love opening the little box and taking out the pin. It’s very well made, and it has a tiny bit of weight to it. I’m really excited to wear it or put it on something and see if anybody recognizes it :D I hope we get more cute little things like this!
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Quality/Pricing - 3 out of 5. Almost everything was priced, and if I can figure it out, I think they were like... 10-15 American dollars total? We pay about 30 dollars for the box, and considering how small and impractical a couple of the items are... I’m not sure it’s the best box worth the price. If we had more items like the Pokemon cord holder, pouch, and pin then yeah I’d say they were.
Content - 3 out of 5. I really liked the items we got, except for the Mt. Fuji. It, the kitty, and the little food thing are pretty impractical (unless used for re-ment, which I would do if I had sets that went with them) and I kind of hate that- but not all Gachapon can be you know? I understand that.
Total Rank: 4 out of 10 cuties. It’s not the best box in the series, but it’s still kinda new you know? I’m not trying to be really hard on it. I was pretty disappointed they didn’t give us a theme for this one though- like if it was me, I would have went super-cute and girly for Valentines Day. I know they try to cater to both genders, but I’m sure they could have found a way for both to be happy with that theme. Or maybe they could have done a video game theme to go with the pokemon and namco pin. SOMETHING you know?
♥ Cutie Scale ♥
1.  Namco Pin - Of course I had to go with this one! I was geeking out over it the whole time. I wasn’t born when these games came out but I can still appreciate them!
2.  Patient Cat - it’s pretty simple, but the kitty is so cute and the concept behind it makes it even cuter.
3.  Osechi Mascot - I love the concept, and the squishy food inside~ I wish the whole thing was squishy though <3<
4. Pokemon Cable Protector - It’s cute, but fairly simple looking.
5. Hanafuda Pouch - It’s sort of like a simplistic art piece you can use for storing stuff in, it’s pretty cute and has a touch of elegance to it too.
6.Mt. Fuji Figure - I’m sorry but I just didn’t like it. It’s nice if you like landmark based figures and displays, but I’m more into things like train displays and stuff that moves around.
And this concludes our review! I hope you enjoyed or found it interesting. As I said on top we’ll probably be doing the Yume Twins september box next, unless I got my March gacha box already, but I don’t believe I did, that one tends to show up late for some reason.
Anyway, until next time, stay cute! And play lots of video games :3
Arcade with play cards person again. So as I've explained in some previous submissions, how it works is you buy a card and put credits (tokens) on it. Tickets you win from the games are e-tickets which automatically go on your card. Now I wouldn't say this is a "fuck anybody" but this lady.. Wtf.. I was cleaning the games and this lady near me just finished playing a game with her son. Now, the swiped screen will say once you're done a game "you've won some tickets" and it will count up how many you've won and those will be added to your card. We also have signs ALL AROUND THE ARCADE that say "etickets are automatically added to your card". Believe me, they're EVERYWHERE. I stare at them 5 days a week. So anyway, I hear this lady, when her kid is wondering why tickets aren't feeding out of the machine (it takes some people a minute to figure out how it works sometimes) "They don't give out tickets. It's just for fun!" Then she fucking turns to me "Right?" Like??? What kind of arcades have you been to lady??? The only machines you don't get tickets from either give out physical prizes (ie stuffed animals from the claw machines), the giant pac man, or are the racing/shooting games like motocross or big buck hunter. Everything else gives out tickets (basketball, skee ball, (hell we even have crossy road and flappy bird that give out tickets)) We have a fucking PRIZE ROOM. How you gonna get anything out of that without tickets? Like what kind of dumbass..
