May I just say... Colin Morgan's background stage business is impeccable. There are so many actors who just stand there watching or aimlessly shuffle around, but I've noticed that when Colin Morgan is in-character, he is in-character.

I haven't watched him in anything other than Merlin, but when he's not the focus of the camera, he's still doing things just as Merlin does. Like, trying not to laugh during the feast when Elena was visiting and displaying poor table manners, actually looking deep in-thought and mouthing the name 'Alice' when Gaius was talking to him about her, glaring at Gwen from the bedpost when she was enchanted and was monologuing about who could have possibly poisoned Arthur, polishing or doing a chore or keeping his head down when Uther's talking to Arthur but still watching them with a keen eye-

and so many more instances! His background stage business is just amazing.

princess elena was actually one of my favorite merlin characters. despite being manipulated for 20 years by her nursemaid, mocked by everyone in camelot and not feeling like she was good enough her entire life, she got the happy ending she deserved!!

makes me so mad how everyone mocked her and then as soon as she acted “normal” everyone was just like “oh my god, she’s BEAUTIFUL!!”

elena deserved to fall in love, take part in horse races and not wear heels for the rest of her life!! my messy haired queen, i adore her so much!!

I wanted to ask about Merlin and Arthur but that's so common half of your ask box might be filled with it.

I’ll do Arthur/Elena first.

I actually like Elena quite a bit, but since she doesn’t get the fairy out of her until near the end of the episode, it’s hard to say exactly what she’s like without it. All in all, I see them as having the ability to be really good friends. I don’t see much of a want for romance from either side. But I think Elena could teach Arthur a lot about just being yourself and being happy with that. She actually reminds me of a more clumsy/offbeat Merida (from Brave lol)

I think they’d make sense as having been childhood friends who got to see each other every so often while growing up whenever they would visit the others kingdom. I would say I honestly head canon her as Aro/ace. So, for romance…

Arthena: 10/100

I also really like Mithian. She knows what she wants and who she is. She’s observant and kind and considerate. I honestly think Arthur and Mithian, if they had truly a regular arranged marriage, could’ve been pretty content with each other.

I don’t think they would’ve developed the kind of profound, deep love that I believe Arthur to have with others, but I do genuinely think they would’ve grown to love and care for each other. In another life, they would’ve been married much like Ygraine and Uther.
