Out of context + Production change + Creators freaking out !
HELLO KOW FANS!!! How are you???
For this weekend's updates we have great news! I managed to finish the 17 sketches of the first scene of KoW (that giant that tells the backstory of the emergence of kings who grant wishes, for those out of date)... YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Unlike last week, I won't be showing the comics here, instead I'm presenting them "out of context"!
I'll throw some random images here, and on the day the Comic comes out, you guys try to come back here and try to see where I fit each reference!
Ready?
Set?
GOOOOO!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(throw the images there and run away, good luck understanding them)
Still talking about Comic, I had already mentioned that this is my first time working on a big project. I don't really know how to do things, I just know that I must do them and reach a result that the team and I consider satisfactory.
With that in mind, I was studying some creative processes and came across that of the great director Hayao Miyazaki .
I believe many of you know him, the internet hasn't stopped talking about him since "The Boy and The Heron" won the Oscar for best animation, besides @annymation already mentioned it in her fanfic, but in case anyone is new and doesn't know him, he is one of the biggest names in animation directors in Japan and the world.
Anyway, I discovered that, in his creative process, Hayao Miyazaki began to storyboard his films himself, sometimes without a pre-determined script, he just sat down and sketched out what he wanted or how he visualized the scene happening.
I tried this with a scene I was trying hard to write in my own original story and had a very fun and satisfying result. So, I decided to try to apply this process to making KoW: basically I'm reading the scenes that Anny wrote and trying to capture their essence by sketching as I read. Let's see what happens! Something tells me that this will make the Comic production process lighter and more fun for me, and that's a good thing considering that busy days are coming in my life (good busy days) !
However, this does not mean that the process will speed up. No. It may still be a little slow. But it does not matter. Calmly and with smiles, Me, @annymation and @uva124 let's make it happen!
OOOHHHHH ! AND SPEAKING OF SMILES!
I want to share something that made me, Anny and Aled freak out last night!
Yesterday, we were talking about my favorite topic: Aster.
I arrived presenting an idea I had while hiking — for Aster to get a star tattoo on his chest, with the words "Lacaille 8760" naming it.
And then this happened:

(prints taken directly from Anny's cell phone, showing conversations from our rewriting group. enjoy, we don't do this every day!)
So yes.
That's exactly what you're thinking.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
I PRESENT TO YOU.....
THE VISION OF PARADISE !!!! 😍❤️‍🔥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(throw this and run away because asha is chasing me)
This is it.
To the next.
Kisses full of light and stars!
~ Emy

Made a full family tree for fun and sorted out a bit of family history in the meantime
Hiromi Anzai was an eccentric researcher of bellementa in the early 1900s, but she was never taken seriously due to a combination of humans incredulous that she believed in magic and part-bellementa determined to keep their existence secret. However, some of her notes are still out there, and she's Emmett's personal hero.
Makoto Sato didn't really have a word for their gender identity, but they were accepted by their husband and his sister and parents, though they kept said identity a secret from most other people, and were misunderstood by their son.
Akira and Midori Uchiyama moved to Threshold sometime after Emi was born, in the hopes of giving her better opportunities, but the stress of moving to a brand new country put a strain on the family's relationships with one another. It resulted in a divorce and split custody- so Emi seeking a relationship was a form of seeking the stability she lacked in her childhood.
Lambert Hund very intentionally abandoned Reiko Sasaki with Aoi when he learned she was pregnant. Reiko tried to cope with the abandonment through religion, and worked so hard to pull her life together to defy everyone's expectations of her failing, but having an extremely Catholic single mother with abandonment trauma and an obsession with keeping up appearances was... not great for Aoi. Reiko wound up parentifying Aoi, which contributed to her decision to study psychology.
Since Hiromi, the Hidakas have always given their kids names starting with Hiro (specifically the kanji 博), sort of as a joke. Hirofumi broke that rule with Hitoshi's name since he was an unplanned and unwanted child. Hito told Aoi about the family rule when they were in college- and when Aoi had Akiko, she initially named them something following the Hidaka naming scheme. Nori, meanwhile, never told Emi about the naming scheme, and didn't protest when she named Ayaka.

On October 20th 1938 photographer Iain MacMillan was born in Carnoustie.
After leaving Dundee high school in 1954, he worked as a trainee manager in a local jute mill, before studying photography at the Regent Street Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster). He returned home in 1959 to photograph Dundee tenements and street scenes - powerful images of a way of life about to disappear. His talent was soon recognised by magazines and publishers, and by the early 1960s he was getting commissions from the Lutterworth Press, the Sunday Times, Plays & Players and the Illustrated London News.
Later in the decade he took photographs for a book, The Sculpture of David Wynne, and for Wynne's exhibition catalogue, while also working on a photographic essay about life in the capital. The Book of London (1966) contains some of his best work, and brought him to the attention of Yoko Ono, who commissioned him to photograph her exhibition at the Indica gallery, in St James's. It was there that Yoko met John Lennon, who invited MacMillan to photograph the Abbey Road album cover.
MacMillan continued working with the couple on such projects as the Live Peace in Toronto album (1969) and Sometime in New York City (1972). He also collaborated on the film Erection, an animation of shots of a London hotel under construction with a soundtrack by John and Yoko.
By the mid-1970s, MacMillan was teaching photography in Stoke-on-Trent. As well as possessing a sense of composition and a lively imagination, he was a meticulous craftsman with a sound technical knowledge. He tried to instill these values into his students. In the 1980s his photographs were exhibited in galleries in Britain and the US, and on the continent. The BBC used his work in the series The Rock and Roll Years.
In the 1980s, after his parents died, MacMillan moved back to Carnoustie. He continued to take photographs of Scottish landscapes, his friends and families - and his beloved collie dog, Mac - often using a borrowed camera.
In 1993 Paul McCartney invited MacMillan to take another picture on the famous zebra crossing near the EMI studios in St John's Wood, this time of the Beatle and his Old English sheepdog. MacMillan contrasted the simplicity of the earlier picture by including a team of policemen, press photographers and a lively crowd. The resulting image was used on the cover of the album Paul is Live, thus scotching rumours that McCartney was dead.
MacMillan was modest about his own achievements. He retained a lasting affection for Paul and Linda McCartney, whom he described as "the most solidly down to earth and unaffected couple imaginable".
Iain MacMillan passed away on May 8th 2006 from lung cancer.

@enchantedbrew continuing off from here.
It’s always so strange being in Shinjuku...
After everything that had happened and just because of her Sight, Emi always felt a bit more guarded here than in Shibuya. Either way, she carries on like normal.
Another meeting and a quick visit to an old coworker who wanted to catch up, the woman was careful in moving through the crowds of people. Minding that she also noticed the usual amount of Noise weaving around...There wasn’t a Game so Emi could let herself have a bit of leeway to not be too guarded.
Tumblr media
“Hm?”
Her heel nudged at something and immediately she knelt down to pick it up, squinting at it in confusion before noticing how a man close by with his hands in his pockets...Was this his? It wouldn’t hurt to ask right? Emi stared at the object in her hands with a frown.
A cell phone?
It...Certainly didn’t look like any phone model she recently saw or even was asked to research about for any ads...It was odd. Shaking it a little as she continued to study it one more moment before getting up and calling out to the man before he went into his car.
“Excuse me!”
Emi watched him, carefully noticing how he seemed frantic in his search before eyeing the object she was offering back to him. The woman tried not to let it show a certain few Noises hovering about before ignoring them to focus on those around them with more negative emotions. She merely chalked it up to him just feeling frantic and worried, “Well...I best be-”
And she halted, now blinking slowly and narrowing her eyes at him in confusion.
“...Excuse me?” the question coming out a bit more hostile than she may have liked, but it was....Very out of the blue for a man asking her that.

I was hoping Emy’s inspo for number 10 was in some way related to Kimmy. Love to see it!
she studies kimmy's game a lot when she realises that her favourite position. her mums always said kim was the best at it so she makes them pull up game highlights and old games and takes notes. when kim learns she is doing this, she's so unbelievably embarrassed (we know how kim hates credit) and tries to tell emy to stop but somehow emy instead employs kimmy to coach her. no one is sure how she managed it, she just did

Okay so I wrote some sort of summary of the plot of Sera Myu Chronicle. I might have already forgotten some things and such and my grammar sucks cause it's super late so yeah AND SPOILERS!!! DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS
So the musical actually has its own plot and isn't just the previous musical made into a concert. It is kind of a pseudo sequel to the previous musical ir something. At the beginning Luna mentions something about an old evil returning, referring to Snow Kaguya, after that the 4 inners are talking about going to eat shaved ice(kakigori) at this new place and wondering where Usagi is, as she wanted to go the most. Chibiusa and Mamoru appear and they reveal that Usagi flunked another test and is forced to study by her mom (& Artemis). Then a totally not suspicious person called Ms. Frozen appears telling them that she's the inventor of the new famous shaved ice and is planning to hold an audition to cast people to be in a commercial advertising the shaved ice. And she heard the girls sing so she wants them to take part in the audition. Some songs are sang and Luna feels left out as she would like to sing as well but cannot do that since she isn't a human. "Ms. Frozen" appears and reveals her true identity to Luna and brainwashes her and turns her into her human form calling her Snow Luna. She is then ordered to capture the Silver Crystal or smth along those lines. Some songs are sang and later Snow Kaguya/Ms. Frozen and Mamoru have some sort of ab lid corner where they talk about Riona's (Mamoru's actor) past roles in Sera Myu and kinda fool around but at the same time when he answers each question, the Snow Dancers freeze a part of his body. (They had these badges that had ice"氷" written on and then just stuck them on) One of them actually hit Riona in the face accidentally with the badge which created a funny ad lib. After that Snow Kaguya attacks and tries to brainwash Mamoru which SURPRSINGLY doesn't work. After the Senshi realize what is truly happening, they go on the offensive only to realize that Snow Kaguya has brainwashed Luna. They start going back and forth with the Senshi trying to get Luna back to her senses and Snow Kaguya trying to keep Luna brainwashed. They eventually manage to save Luna and return her to her cat form and they reassure her that there are things that only she can do and all that nice stuff. They then realize that they left Artemis all alone when Usagi escaped her home and get all panicked and they sing a new song as they curtain closes.
After that the special guests arrived which in this case were, Akiko Kosaka, ANZA, Hisano Akamine, Misako Iwana, Emi Kuriyama and Akiko Miyazawa. Surpringly there wasn't any talk show or anything, like in Ai no Sanctuary, which was kinda sad since they just performed their medley and... left. Well they did talk like a minute or so, ANZA mentioned that most of the people in the audience probably weren't even alive when they started Sera Myu and says that everyone was probably able to watch the old musicals later from video tapes and Youtube and that was when Kosaka-sensei stopped her and told her she can't say that. So I guess they are pretty much aware about the copyright mess with Banmyu lol )and iirc ANZA has mentioned the musicals being on Youtube on one of her and Kosaka-sensei's livestreams). And THEN they left. But while there was no talk show, in the pamphlet, there is a Q&A with all of the guests so I guess it was just a time management issue. After that the service numbers started and we were allowed to stand while cheering and I was at first literally the ONLY ONE who was standing XD after a while some girls behind me stood up, probably cause they couldn't see anything from behind me. The staff where just holding these signs saying that's okay to stand but everyone just ignored them. Kinda rude lol It was only when Moonlight Densetsu started when more people started standing and there were 6 songs in the service numbers so yeah. Also there was no curtain call rip

i’m so full of quizzical wonder WHAT ARE THE EMINAZU LOVE LANGUAGES + BONUS what is their favorite thing the other does for them to show love. kind of similar questions but
QUIZZICAL WONDER. UNNGNHNGNNHHHHH YESSSSSSSYEYSYS. ILL DO LOVE LANGUAGES FIRST
nazuna: physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service
I DONT THINK THESE ARE TOO SURPRISING as these very much align with canon. but i think they would become like x10 more prominent in a romantic context. nazuna is already very physically affectionate in canon, but with emily he can be even more so. i think one of his least favorite parts about their relationship being private is that he can’t do pda. if it was up to him, nazuna would be hugging her and holding her hand and taking her to cute little cafés 24/7 but he CANT and he’s so sad (he’ll still nonchalantly brush her hand with his if they’re walking side by side. he thinks he’s so slick). when they’re alone though? He Will Not Stop. he has to make up for the time they’ve spent apart! he’ll constantly be hugging her and cuddling her and kissing her and holding her hands and HE WILL NOT STOP. he also won’t hesitate to hold emily for a while if she’s not feeling great.
WORDS OF AFFIRMATION i don’t think i need to elaborate too much. nazuna always knows just what to say. he’s very used to comforting others, and emily needs to hear his kind words A LOT. he’s always 100% genuine, too, which means a lot to her. he’s very gentle with her and a very comforting presence in her life.
ACTS OF SERVICE emily is very busy. all the time. she used to refuse when nazuna asked to help her, but over time she’s gotten better about saying yes. nazuna is always willing to lift a workload off her plate if need be. he’s also bringing her lunch and snacks throughout the day so she doesn’t forget to eat, always with a sweet note attached. WHAT A GUY!
emily: quality time, gift giving
QUALITY TIME IS A BIG ONE which can be hard considering the nature of their relationship/schedules. but if she has free time? emily is finding any excuse to see nazuna. she worries about coming off as obsessive (Girl), but nazuna doesn’t mind! he loves spending time with her, whether she’s coming to his campus library to help him study, or sitting in on a rabits practice session. but her favorite time is when they’re alone, and she can be herself. she loves chatting with him about anything and everything. she’s even fine with sitting in silence. she just enjoys his presence in general!
GIFT GIVING every time emily sees something that she thinks nazuna would like she will buy it no question somebody help this girl she’s going broke . BUT ALSO i think she would use this in turn of words of affirmation. she feels as though she is not good at comforting people outside of surface level assertions especially when nazuna is so good at it SO i think she would do this instead. SHE STILL TRIES WORDS OF AFFIRMATION OFC but i think she doubts herself a lot when it comes to it. but you can never go wrong with a gift.
I FIRGOT HE FUCKIGN SECOND PART OF THEQUESTUIBIN EDIITNG IT OK
FOR EMI i think she really appreciates how nazuna always takes care of her. he’s constantly looking out for her physical and mental well being, which is something nobody besides him has ever done before. he’s always very gentle and kind with her, and has never treated her like a liability, which is something she worries about.
FOR NAZUNA i think he would feel similarly! he’s always looking out for others, so i think he would feel a little weird about emily comforting him at first. eventually, i think he would feel more comfortable about relying on her more. it takes some time, but i think he really does appreciate it.

Ideal Woman
Written for Femslash February 2024
Day 8. Grey
Title: Ideal Woman
Ship: not applicable | Emi/Tome
Word Count: 1,192
Universe: GX - canon compliant
Rating: T
Tags: Ageing, Flirting, Getting Together, Humour
Ayukawa Emi was a vain and vapid woman but she would be the first to admit it.
A woman who didn't acknowledge her flaws was a woman doomed, or so Emi theorised.
Her greatest vice, of course, was this self absorption. But what to do with it? That, Emi thought, was the most important thing.
Well, there were just a couple of things she could do. She could tweak and pluck, shave and wax. She could pick apart and cover it all up. Her appearance in the bathroom mirror was what mattered most to her. She wanted to be beautiful. And smart. But mostly beautiful.
She wasn't getting any younger, either. Contrary to popular rumour - because heaven forbid you ever ask a woman her age - she wasn't just pushing Christmas cake status. She was well and truly passed it. Expired, even. The proof was in the pudding: Ayukawa Emi was going grey.
   Grey!
All of the Obelisk Blue Dorm must have heard her scream. It was shrill and resounded up the halls, through the courtyard and the school itself. The whole island likely heard her scream as she found that errant grey hair - singular - amongst her glossy red swirls.
Of course, once she recovered from the shock of finding such an errant aberration in her beauty, Emi acted quickly. She plucked it, with only a little wince from the pinch and that was that.
   For a couple of days.
It seemed there was no stopping the march of time. Emi predicted that if she continued as is, she would have a whole head of grey hairs in… in… in ten years! That was practically tomorrow and that was assuming the best. If her students were going to drive her up the wall like that particular cohort, the stress would absolutely accelerate her greying.
Emi would not stand for it so she began to stockpile and style. Hair dye was every greying woman’s best friend but being a natural redhead, it was hard to match. She could go fake, yes, but then she would always look fake and Emi didn’t want to let go of her youthful, ruddy colour. Everyone would know if she covered it up by going to that extreme and that would be no good either.
Though the retail therapy was kind of relaxing, she had to admit. Even if the products on their way to the island via snail mail were destined to gather dust on her shelf now.
Maybe she needed to consume more consumerism to feel better. Plucking out her no good worries was good enough in the meantime but Emi simply sighed to herself. She needed to vent. Really, that was the cheapest option but who to?
Not her students, obviously. That would be crossing lines and boundaries. Same for Samejima but he had the added bonus of being a bald man. He wouldn’t get it at all and what if people got the wrong idea? Emi so did not want nor need a rumour going around that she had female pattern baldness when all it was that she was going grey.
   Emi sighed again.
“What’s the matter, buttercup?” Tome asked with a chuckle. “That was a big sigh, tell me all your troubles, bubbles.”
Her pet names made Emi’s nose wrinkle fondly. They were cute. She lifted up her head off the perch of her knuckles, tried to make herself seem somewhat presentable but she was a full grown woman moping in the cafeteria so… The point was negated.
Tome set down the tray of lunch that she had been bringing over for Emi. She set herself down, too, right next to her on the aluminium-tin pew.
Emi studied Tome over once then twice as she tried to gather her thoughts… Only to discard and replace them as she became charmed by Tome’s smile. It was waiting and judgement-free.
Tome was… homely but she was beautiful. She was free. She seemed happily herself and that made Emi a little envious, even though Tome’s hair was a mousy brown without a single sheen of lustre and she wore her age freely. Not minding at all that she had crow’s feet (laugh lines) or prominent jowls, a double chin and pockmarks from the wear and tear of living her life.
“How did you age so gracefully?” Emi asked, sincerity kept her tone hushed as she tried to invite genuine conversation.
“I just did.” Tome shrugged her shoulders. “It never mattered much to me. I just wash my face with water, keep the mirror clean, and smile.” She sounded apologetic since there was no grand secret to her happiness.
“I wish I could be like that.” Emi said, pining.
“You still can be.” Tome replied. “I think its mighty clever of you, having the self-discipline to make all your potions and remedies, sticking to them. I hear yer having a rough time now that your going grey.”
“You know?!” Emi exclaimed, she squirmed in embarrassment.
   “Everyone kinda heard.” Tome said.
Emi began to drown in her mortification. She had really been hoping she’d exaggerated her own noise of despair and dismay when she had discovered her initial grey hair but apparently not.
“Aw, your awright,” Tome said, “your a pretty woman. All you really need is a smile, I promise. You are a smart woman, it's cliche, I know but it really is what’s on the inside that counts.”
   “Tome…” Emi murmured.
Her heart began to pound. Her eyes glittered as she took in Tome’s words and her appearance. She was frumpy and she was dowdy, her cardigan was faded and fuzzy at the edge. And yet, Emi found herself falling in love with Tome because her good, kind heart truly was what mattered deeper than anything else.
Her heart still pounded. A heart which had been broken many times before because for all her good looks and brains to match, she couldn’t pick a keeper. She had picked flakes and cheaters and people who didn’t appreciate her for her. Only for her make-up.
But she could feel herself change as she savoured the sensation of a racing heart as caused by gazing upon Tome and breathing in her scent.
“You might be my ideal woman…” Emi murmured, flirting. Her eyes wide and starstruck.
Tome laughed and she waved Emi off, “Now yer just being nice.”
“No, really, I think you are.” Emi said and she shuffled closer along the bench.
She nudged her shoulder up against Tome’s. It was thick and flabby but she radiated a wonderful warmth. Daring, Emi touched her more, leaned into her side and took her hand to hold it. She closed her eyes.
“I think you are a wonderful woman, Tome.” Emi said, cuddling. “I really do mean it when I’m telling you, I think you are my ideal woman.”
“I know,” Tome replied and she rested more of herself against Emi, she reached over and placed her large, chore-worn hand on Emi’s forearm, “you haven’t a mean bone in yer body, you’d never lie. I-I think you're beautiful, inside an’ out, and heck, that might just make you my ideal woman.”

Whew, ok, I'm ready to talk about my main Baki OC >:3
Yeah, I know her design may look too basic but! the story & the plot imho is perfect ✨
And who cares if it's cringe? Nobody ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Biography
So her name's Namiko Ogawa she's 23 years old. Confident, blunt, kind of arrogant, manipulative, smart? probably :D. Knows Japanese and English fluently, also speaks German. Originally from Okinawa but moved with her father to Osaka where she lived till she turned 18. Now lives in Tokyo.
6 y.o.:
The girl was adopted numerous times at a young age of 6. Already had a bad temper and caused lots of problems to those who adopted her (even tried to burn a family's property). The last person who took her was a man that owned a small dojo. Raizo Ogawa. He was a single careless man, his sense of justice and discipline differed from the standard ones. His way of teaching was quite unique. Namiko was able to learn all of the techniques in 10 years.
16 y.o.:
After some time Raizo became addict to alcohol and his relationship with his daughter worsened. The girl skipped most of her school classes (except for math and biology) and was rarely seen at home. She became a member of a sukeban, but never had a leader role due to her reluctance to be responsible for somebody. Everything was fine till Namiko was arrested. The girl started attending most of the subjects more often, but secretly continued to hangout with delinquents and juveniles.
18 y.o.:
At the age of 18 Ogawa went to university by manipulating and blackmailing the staff, because some of her grades, let's say, weren't that good. After 4 years of studying she went to Germany and stayed there as an exchange student.
23 y.o.:
She came back to Japan at 23 and now lives and works in Tokyo.
People
Raizo Ogawa. Namiko's adoptive father. Overall had a nice relationship with his daughter. They spent a lot of time together gardening or training. After one of his students died in a car crash he had a breakdown and became addicted to alcohol. That's when their relationship has gradually worsened. Died from cirrhosis when Namiko was 20. They solved all their conflicts before he passed away.
Places
The Depot. Namiko had an unpleasant experience with street fighting. She went to threatening places and frequently was on a verge of death. The most dangerous was the Depot. Place without any rules that was covered up by authorities. All kinds of weapons and techniques were allowed. That's a place where Namiko met her first real enemy.
Ta-da, and that's it :D
It's still a draft, but this text already looks like a decent story for a character 🤔
P.S. I'm silently crying because I wanted to draw her as Emi or at least like Kozue, but I ended up with someone else.. dunno if it's good or not, but I'm not satisfied with the result :')
Next time will try better 😤💪🏽

Enchanted Neighborhood Chapter 2
~1500 words. Sora/Kairi. Post-Canon. Family AU, SoKai Parents AU. Reunions, Fluff, Winnie the Pooh.
This is a sequel to After Ever After and Love’s Cost. There are five chapters total and the story will update weekly on Fridays.
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5
Summary: Sora and Kairi’s children Miyu, Haruto, and Emi meet Winnie the Pooh, and an unexpected visitor joins them.
Tumblr media
Of all the ways to spend their time during Mom’s appointment, Miyu had never imagined this. She still couldn’t get over the fact they were tiny and standing in an actual storybook. Having a Keyblade and going on adventures like this really was awesome.
“This is so cool!” Haruto said, echoing her thoughts as he bounded around the pages, and Emi’s eyes were as big as saucers. A delighted smile spread across her face as she looked all around them.
Miyu was glad. Ever since Emi had said she’d felt left out, Miyu had really tried to include her as much as possible. She didn’t want her little sister feeling left behind. Especially because she wouldn’t be the baby of the family for much longer, and as exciting as it was to have another family member on the way, it would definitely shake things up with the family dynamic.
As they walked around, Miyu noticed there were several hand-painted scenes on the two pages they were standing on. One of them was of a long table in a cozy-looking wood. When Miyu and Emi approached it, it suddenly popped up like those pop-up books Mom and Dad used to read to them.
“Haruto, look,” Miyu said. “I think this is where we’re supposed to go.”
Haruto came over and studied it carefully. “Yeah, probably. I wonder where this Pooh person is.”
“Maybe we’ll find him.”
As the three of them approached the pop-up scene, a wind picked up and a strong tug pulled on Miyu’s heart. The magic of the book pulled them in as she held tight to Haruto and Emi’s hands, and a few moments later, she blinked and opened her eyes.
They were on a little dirt path in the middle of a wood. A pleasant breeze blew through the air, rustling through the trees and carrying a few leaves with it. Birds sang and chirped, a nearby brook bubbled, and warm sunlight danced along the ground in dapples and gaps in the shade.
Miyu felt safe here. Something about this place brought back warm memories of when she was little. Of Mom and Dad reading storybooks to her before bedtime. The imaginative games she and Haruto used to play as kids. Hours spent in the garden as the family planted fruits and vegetables together. The smiles on Mom and Dad’s faces when Emi was born and they proudly showed her to Miyu and Haruto for the first time.
“This place is nice,” Haruto said, and Miyu agreed. It was very nice. It was so nice she could spend hours here and feel like no time had passed at all. A quick glance at the watch on her wrist told her it had only been a few minutes, but still.
“Do you think this path goes somewhere?” Emi asked.
“Good question,” Miyu squeezed Emi’s hand. “Why don’t we find out.”
The three of them followed the path, and before long they spotted a great tree ahead of them with a house under its roots. As they approached, Miyu noticed a pile of honey pots in front of the door of the house, and “MR SANDERZ” was written above it with a backwards “N.” A log rested on the path a little ways away from the house, and on that log was a small yellow bear with a red shirt. He looked like he was thinking very hard, though what about, who could say.
“Hey! Are you Pooh?” Haruto asked, not wasting any time on pleasantries.
“Think think think,” the bear mumbled to himself. “How to make new friends when one of your old friends hasn’t come to visit.”
“One of your old friends?” Haruto asked, glancing back at Miyu. “Do you think he means—”
The bear tottered to his feet. “Perhaps you will be my new friends. I’m Winnie the Pooh. Pooh for short. And you are?”
“Haruto,” Haruto said, jabbing a finger towards himself, “and this is Emi and Mi—”
“Sora?” Pooh asked as he stared up at Miyu. She started, then realized the confusion. While Emi looked the most like Dad, Miyu took after him too, and that became more and more obvious the older she got. She had Mom’s violet eyes, but her face shape was more like Dad’s, and her hair was brown like his too.
“Oh, me? No, I’m not Sora, I’m Miyu.” She knelt so that she was closer to Pooh’s height. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Not-Sora-I’m-Miyu,” Pooh said as he offered his paw. Miyu shook it, then Haruto and Emi did too. Pooh’s stomach growled, and he patted his belly and sighed.
“It seems there’s a rumbly in my tumbly. You wouldn’t happen to have any hunny, would you?”
Emi’s face lit up. “We actually do!” she said. She handed him the little pot of honey. “Daddy said to give it to you.”
“Daddy?” Pooh asked as he took the honey from her, plonked back down on his log, and started eating it.
Emi nodded. “Our Daddy is Sora. He told me to say hi to you.”
“We’re his kids,” Miyu explained.
“Kids?” Pooh asked, peering curiously up at her. One paw was in the honey pot, the other was dripping honey partway to his mouth. “Sora’s a father? He’s a grownup?”
She nodded. “Yes. We’re his kids. Miyu, Haruto, and Emi.”
Pooh just let the honey drip down his paws and face. “Sora can’t come to see me anymore?”
Miyu exchanged glances with Haruto and Emi, and they all shook their heads sadly.
“Oh, I see,” Pooh said, his head drooping. “So that’s why he hasn’t come to visit. I do miss him so.”
“We can tell you stories about him,” Haruto said. “Would that help?”
Pooh nodded. “I’d like that very much.”
They joined him on the log and made themselves comfortable. Haruto began with a story of one of his earliest memories: Sora telling him a bedtime story and tucking him in during a storm. Emi chimed in about a time the family all made sugar cookies together to celebrate Christmas, and finally it was Miyu’s turn.
“It’s not really one specific memory,” she said. “More like… How Dad is every single day. I can tell he really loves Mom just by the way he looks at her, especially when he thinks she’s not looking. And I know he loves us too. He gave up so much for us to have a normal childhood. His life of traveling and adventuring, a whole lot of fame and munny and respect, and… his friends, too.”
She looked at Pooh, who was listening very quietly. She hadn’t really thought about it before, but by giving up most of his traveling, Dad must’ve drifted apart from a lot of his friends. Not Uncle Riku of course, or the other people in his inner circle like Aunt Xion, Aunt Naminé, and Uncle Roxas, but Pooh and Pooh’s friends…
“Well, Not-Sora-I’m-Miyu, I may not have seen Sora in quite some time, but he’s always with me, right here,” Pooh said, pointing at his heart. “He went away for a while, but he came back, and he’s been with me ever since.”
She smiled sadly. “I’m glad to hear that.”
“Still, I wish you could see Daddy again,” Emi said, and Haruto nodded. A slight wind picked up, blowing a few leaves through the air and making Miyu’s skin tingle, but then all was quiet.
“Perhaps I will. But until then, I shall enjoy being your friends, Not-Sora-I’m-Miyu, Haruto, and Emi.”
Miyu was about to reply when that strange wind picked up again. It was so strong this time that it lifted Emi off of the log. Pooh grabbed her legs, Haruto grabbed Pooh’s legs, and Miyu grabbed Haruto’s legs. Emi was well into the air at this point, as were Pooh and Haruto, and Miyu’s feet started skidding along the ground. She gritted her teeth and tried to dig her heels in, but keeping her teenage brother, her little sister, and a small bear grounded was proving to be a challenge. At this rate she was going to be lifted right into the air along with them.
“A little help please? Someone, anyone?” she called. Right as she lifted off the ground, something grasped her foot, and a flash of magic shot past her and made them all float in the air. Wait a second. She recognized that magic. Just a few days ago, she and Haruto had started learning this very same anti-gravity spell.
She glanced down. “Dad?”
Sure enough, she spied the Kingdom Key. It was gripped in the right hand of their rescuer, and her foot was in his left. But instead of her dad, there was a boy about her age in his place. He was wearing mostly black, and he had spiky brown hair, blue eyes, a knowing smile—
Oh my gosh, it was Dad!

╰   𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓  emi  watanabe  !  ╮
{ myoui mina, cis female, she/her }  ✦ welcome BELLE from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! under the forgetting curse, they now go by EMI WATANABE their new memories now have them as a LITERATURE PROFESSOR AT DREAMLIGHT VALLEY COLLEGE. the TWENTY NINE year old can be CONFIDENT but also can be STUBBORN. around the valley, they can be described as A ROSE IN THE HANDS OF MONSTERS, HANDWRITTEN LETTERS, MESSY BUNS, AND READING ON COLD WINTER NIGHTS.  ✦ @dreamlightintro
━━━ 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 ━━━
name: emi hina watanabe
age: twenty-eight
gender: cisfemale ( she / her pronouns )
sexual orientation: pansexual, panromantic
fandom: beauty & the beast
━━━ 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕  ━━━  * tw: mentions of familial death!
the watanabes are known to be oddballs, mostly because one rarely saw them out and about in town. after emi’s mother passed away when emi was five, her father left the town proper to live in a humble cottage in the 100 acre woods. his grief was so great and his fear of the same tragedy happening to his daughter, he kept them isolated away from the rest of dreamlight valley’s residences.
emi wanted for nothing, of course. her father was a brilliant man and so was his daughter, and got her everything she could generally need. to keep her entertained (as childhood friends were so few to come by while being homeschooled), her father brought her books from town whenever he visited to help with residences’ electrical repairs. from there, she escaped into multiple worlds, and eventually had wanted nothing more than to grow and be independent, despite her great fondness for her father.
eventually, a bird must leave their nest. and when emi turned 18, she set off to study at the local college, taking a course in exactly the subject she is presently teaching. it took awhile to adjust to a more social life. after all, the only few people that came by their cottage in the woods was the mailman and perhaps the occasional visit from those working in sales. but eventually, emi found her footing in the world. still, her mind works wonders and dreams of far, far away lands beyond dreamlight valley where she could hopefully and eventually escape to.
writing and teaching has been everything that consumed her for the most of her adulthood. she is hoping that with her nearly-finished novel, she can make it big and finally leave dreamlight valley for good.
━━━ 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔  ━━━
she almost took a course in computer engineering like her father did, as she’s quite good with tinkering and helping her father with his odd inventions and materials sent over from town that needed repairs. but she found a greater love for literature and teaching others about it.
her favorite classic book is pride & prejudice and her first novel is inspired by this very book.
emi can often be found at the public library or at the college’s library, working on her students’ papers or sneaking in bits of time trying to finish her novel.
━━━ 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔  ━━━
friends - emi is a bit of a social parasite tbh aksjhfsaskg it’s not to say she doesn’t try conversing with others. after all, teaching comes very easily. but as far as making long-lasting friendships, they’re few and far in between. she always has her nose in a book and would often talk her friends’ ear off about the latest book she’s read/tried writing or talk about the classes she recently taught.
students - tbh, at first glance, most of her students don’t take her very seriously cause she seems a little too ‘young’ to be a professor. but emi easily proves them wrong when she starts teaching. she’s a great professor and quite nurturing, and would love to have any students under her wing!
past flings/relationships - she’s had her fair share of dalliances, but honestly none of them were ever too serious. and if they were, it usually ends very quickly cause of her high expectations for her partners (to them, if they’re not declaring a great love as mr. darcy, then perhaps they’re not worth her time) kasjhsag i’d love to have any male/female/nb past partners for emi!
anything under the sun - some relations in the teaching industry or publishing industry, customers of her father’s electrical repair services whom she has assisted in the past, plus others you wanna offer <3

A bit of Fridge Brilliance in Katawa Shoujo regarding Shizune:
her route is often criticized, among many many other reasons, for having only one choice. Do you “comfort” Misha, or do you push her away?
Yes, gameplay wise, her route isn’t as engaging as, say, Rin’s. But it makes perfect sense for her character.
In Act 1, there is a scene called Support, where Hisao doesn’t know how to spend his Saturday, and has to decide who to hang out with. The girl he spends the day with depends on your previous choices: pursuing Lilly and Hanako will lead to a choice where you can finally branch out and select one girl, or you could go to Emi and Rin and then stick to one of them depending if you bonded with Emi or not.
Shizune is not involved in this scene.
If you pursued Shizune, you get a completely different scene, Shanghaied, where she and Misha wake Hisao up at 8 am and drag him with them to spend the day together.
See the difference? Hisao doesn’t choose to go to Shizune: Shizune makes that choice first. This is who she is, and this was a brilliant way to show it. It also isolates her from the other girls, which reflects how isolated she actually is in the school.
Her route explores this mentality in depth: Shizune loves to drag people in her life, and loves to take control of everything... and then doesn’t know what to do to keep those people near her. She’s full of personality, but that personality is hard to like, let’s just say.
But back to the choice. Hisao can’t make choices in the route because, well, Shizune makes them first, and Hisao follows her along. That one choice of comforting Misha? Shizune isn’t there to stop them. (and what a choice it is, if left to his devices Hisao can decide to stick his dick into his girlfriend’s best friend out of pity. I don’t blame Shizune for being always in charge at this point)
(also, that part of her driving people away due to her personality? Comes to bite you in the ass in the Bad Ending. I love how fucking Misha doesn’t lead to the Bad Ending because Shizune discovers that you cheated, that would be too obvious; it’s because both Hisao and Misha can’t stand to be near her out of guilt and she believes that it’s her fault because, well, that’s what she does, doesn’t it? No one likes her. Everyone will eventually drift away from her no matter how hard she tries. It breaks me)
Shizune’s route was more of a character study than a love story, and this means that you get more fridge brilliance moments than Feels. I personally like that :)

Later in the decade he took photographs for a book, The Sculpture of David Wynne, and for Wynne’s exhibition catalogue, while also working on a photographic essay about life in the capital. The Book of London (1966) contains some of his best work, and brought him to the attention of Yoko Ono, who commissioned him to photograph her exhibition at the Indica gallery, in St James’s.
In 1993 Paul McCartney invited MacMillan to take another picture on the famous zebra crossing near the EMI studios in St John’s Wood, this time of the Beatle and his Old English sheepdog. MacMillan contrasted the simplicity of the earlier picture by including a team of policemen, press photographers and a lively crowd. The resulting image was used on the cover of the album Paul is Live, thus scotching rumours that McCartney was dead.
MacMillan was modest about his own achievements. He retained a lasting affection for Paul and Linda McCartney, whom he described as “the most solidly down to earth and unaffected couple imaginable”.
Iain MacMillan passed away on May 8th 2006 from lung cancer.
