I hope you're doing well! I'm trying to read more fanfiction, but I don't really know where to start. So, I'll split my ask into two categories:

Essential fanfics that I shouldn't miss

Personal favourites

It doesn't have to be a long list (I imagine you're busy), but any recommendations would be appreciated 😊

*HUGS* I hope YOU were okay from the storm!! Yes, I live in the Capital region, but thankfully the worst I had in my neighbourhood was a tree next to my building literally was PEELED from the ground (it looked wild, LOL). A couple of my coworkers who live on the QC side said they had no power for over 2 days, so their Easter was pretty poopy, bleh. It's SO weird now thinking just a week ago we had that wicked storm when today is a BEAUTIFUL summer day, 20˚C and sunshine. WEIRD.

ANYWAY, I always have time to try my best with recs!! I'm not always spot on, but I hope I can at least direct you to a few lists you'll enjoy!

No matter what any misogynistic loser says, Jolyne was the truest successor of Jonathan’s spirit and was more than deserving of being the final JoJo of the original continuity. Her death to Pucci was a noble sacrifice and a beautiful moment and, ultimately, she triumphed over him in the end. She was not weak or entitled or annoying or boring - whatever misogynistic bullshit people spew about her. She is so much more complex and phenomenal than bigots in this fandom can even comprehend and, ultimately, it is their loss for disregarding her because they are so deeply hateful of women. Also they should die.

I have been talking a lot about how I want to be less precious about my sketches but still end up hoarding everything in files that never see the light of day because I think they don't measure up (to my own expectations).

But you know what? This is fanart, it's not meant to be polished since it's just for me and maybe someone else gets a kick out of my doodles as well, so let's end 2024 with a bit of a sketch dump from my files.

The fact people act like Steve wouldn't notice if a guy/Eddie was flirting with him at all, when part of the hilarity behind the big boy flirtation scene is that Steve CLEARLY knows something about the comment is off lol. That's why he looks so baffled. Steve can be oblivious about other things but come on Casanova over there is going to notice when someone is flirting with him even if it is a guy

Yes! There's a tonne, a lot of them either independent OR under new names with character names changed. Check out this post here for more info!

And ALWAYS follow your fave authors and artists! A lot of them do self-publish and have pre-order drives ongoing to pay for the initial runs of their books!

I know @gaylilsherlock is currently running one to self-publish their book, and this post here has a few fics that are under different published names. Kameo has a fic on Amazon you can buy as well!

AND FINALLY, Carnation Books publishes queer romances, many of which were/are fandom authors who rewrote their fandom stories to be more original!
