It depends on what you like anon… I’m going to recommend a variety of fics and hopefully you’ll find one that you’re interested in. Also the fics I’m going to recommend aren’t super well known(as in around 10K hits or less). The list is in alphabetical order of the author’s names.

Blood Red by deeperinmyheadA Legend of Korra modern day (dark) AU set in a small town. Korra returns to her hometown after being away for three years. The nightmares from the past still haunt her along with the side-effects of her Blood Bending and some lost memories. She meets Asami, a woman she’s having an unexplainable attraction to. Together, they go through a lot of pain as Korra is haunted by the past - killer with a personal vendetta.

Comforts of Home by EmiraelSingle Mom AU/Modern AU - Sweet and family-centered. Korra is new in this part of the city, and she’s not particularly interested in romance at this point in her life. But then her son makes a friend, and, well, what kind of mother would she be if she didn’t meet the friend’s mom at some point?

Including 100+k words of post-canon stories focusing on the Best Friends Squad as they have space adventures (The Squad Goes Intergalactic), the super short one about predestination (Remade all the time), the also super short one where catradora doesn’t get married (Only Constant), the much longer one I wrote with @fuhadeza​ where catradora gets married a lot (The Thing About Forever), the self-indulgent one about fiber art (Twist; talk to me about spinning!), and the one where they’re Arthurian Knights that’s secretly an ode to the whole thing Tristram/Lamorak have going on (I will do you gentleness).

Riverdale (Rest In Chaos) 

Join me in the descent from Jughead’s impenetrably pretentious s5 polyam-subtext-but-textually-bughead-because-Jughead’s-unreliable introspection that you should skip unless you’re up for an endurance challenge (Another Love Song for Betty Cooper) to Betty’s much more succinct and readable adventures in being aromantic but cool to make out with him (An Antonym for Serenade) to wait actually I think I’m going all in on the Betty/Archie/Veronica/Jughead polyamory (alternative solutions for gordian knots) to cool they have superpowers but only Betty/Veronica/Archie get to quite literally come (In then out, and other ways to breathe) to POP THE CHAMPAGNE THE OT4 IS CANON let’s get Jughead back in there, yeah he’s confused about it too (In which Reggie Mantle is not invited to the polycule). Somewhere in there I also wrote a completely canon compliant character study of the Biblical Angel Raphael (Shall the water not remember).

Star Wars (is a fun time)

Weird little philosophical things about Count Dooku’s Qui-Gon Jinn guilt (this thing of darkness), Ezra Bridger & Leia Organa almost hooking up as reckless teens in the least sexy encounter ever and never talking about it ever again (Requiem for a Misspent Youth), Hera Syndulla & Luke Skywalker talking because I think they should talk (They talk about Jedi), and the uncomfortable generational angst that just kind of lives between Luke Skywalker & Ahsoka Tano (Chiasmus).

Stranger Things (is also here)

Gets its own section because I have two more I’ll be super sad if I never finish. Currently two Steve fics (the king is dead, Steve Harrington is Having a Crisis Today) and one Robin fic (Party Plan) in which everyone assumes everyone else is straight, everyone is wrong, and it leads to silliness with a side of feelings. Very, very robust drafts of the Nancy and Eddie fic very much continue to exist in my drafts and oh boy would I love to ffs finish them.

I could totally end the post here, in which case it would be reasonably sized, very informative, and in no way make any promises I cannot keep. But where’s the fun in that, so...

...Things In My Drafts Folder (She-Ra, unless indicated otherwise):

I have a lot of drafts, and I’m writing them very slowly. Turns out, it takes longer to write things when you are (a) busy and (b) hopping between ten drafts at the whim of your brain instead of focusing on just one. The good news is that, historically speaking, when I stick with a hobby for a full year it tends to mean it’s not going anywhere. So while I can’t promise I’ll end up finishing all of these, the highest chance is that I’ll finish a bunch. Just...slowly.

(Edit 4/16/22: just...SO slowly. And I’m gonna run ttrpg again now so like...the slowest. But the drafts all DO still exist.)(Edit to add 8/31/23: I still really do want to finish these bc I am extremely proud of them but like idk who knows when. Ttrpg is going great tho so like hmu to talk about arthurian roleplay I guess)

Most of these fics have titles already, but I’m vaguely and nonsensically superstitious about announcing them so formally so early. So I...won’t.

The one where Catra & Glimmer have a space adventure ft. all of Catra’s shitty bosses. (I started this draft last summer, forgot about it for most of the year, and then proceeded to write a ton for it two nights ago. So: case in point about this stuff getting written just slowly.)

The highkey catradora romance amnesia fic where I name the chapters after poems because sometimes I get to be pretentious, as a treat.

The catradora au that’s mostly about dragons and a little about a bad pun.

The star trek voyager au. Yes, also catradora, it’s all catradora.

Possibly a seamista fic??

An arranged marriage au that’s so deeply and totally backburnered that I’m not even bolding it but which I want to mention here on the off chance that if I ever get around to finishing it I can look back from a decade in the future and tell my past self I told you so.

(not She-Ra) Another Supernatural fic - aka the one where I rewrite plots for a bunch of female characters, because that’s what I did while I binged that show but also dear goodness it needs so much editing

In conclusion: sorry for the long post. Extra sorry if you are someone who follows me for non-writing/non-She-Ra reasons. If it helps, it’ll probably be a long time until I make another one. In the meantime, my writing tag continues to be #forsythiarising, and if I remember to I may make a series of posts about the titles of my existing fics bc I have a lot of meta and love titles a lot. [Note: this one is finished now, absolutely is amazing, and I'm now following the same author's Knifepoint which is a WIP and is KILLING ME.]

Just Visiting by wingedcorgi – Missing scenes between Catra and Glimmer on Horde Prime's ship.

Serve and Protect by MaggieDerrick – Inspired by the "street gang au" art by @ilikeyoucatradora. Modern AU wherein Catra and Adora are street kids pickpocketing for a gang called The Horde, Angella is the police captain, Glimmer and Bow are teenage vigilantes trying to take down The Horde without having to follow Angella's pesky rules.

*Peripheries by ethiobird – Each chapter is from the POV of a different character, focused on their thoughts/feelings about Catra and Adora's relationship. They are BRILLIANT.

The sky burns red against your skin – The Old Guard AU. It is freaking brutal and unforgettable. I cried many times. (Happy ending!)

A dream you can reach (but not quite hold) by four alarm fire – Soulmate canon AU. Catra has Adora's name on her wrist. Adora's wrist is empty.

Union by IrisSteth and radstickers – Bit of a fantasy AU? Mostly the same as canon but without space travel. Adora thinks Catra is dead, until Horde Prime offers Adora her hand in marriage to end the war. This is actually a roleplay posted as a story, and that format/quality of writing is not going to work for everyone, but the premise is so entirely my jam that I put up with it quite cheerfully!

I never cared for stories, until you entered mine by thethirdphiladelphiavireo – Modern soulmate AU. Catra and Adora are college students. Catra knows their soulmarks match. Adora doesn't.

Pinky Promise – Modern rom-com AU, based on While You Were Sleeping

Watch your step (love is broken) – Double Trouble shifts into Adora to help Catra through heat.

a picture’s worth a thousand words by akarihope - catradora in a post-season 3 au, very cool idea behind it, lots of portal theory and catra punching shadow weaver in the face! also VERY GAY. in the woods somewhere is also... pure brilliance. gay witch catra and very soft adora <3

i have faced it, a life wasted by catrasredemption - catradora, modern au where catra and adora are separated after a big accident that changes everything for them. very good, very deep, made me cry, READ THE TAGS! i’d also recommend when all she is, and ever was, in compromised, because it hurt me deeply, and cast some light (it’ll be alright), which features soft artist catra <3

i couldn’t get very far without recommending anachronism by chellethewriter - seriously, both anachronism and immemorial have made me cry almost every update. catradora but they have to live the worst 3 years of their lives all over again and live with the consequences. the angst factor is INCREDIBLY HIGH. also, forever, if you want, because vampire catra owns my heart, and the vanishing point, a catra study that made me cry. a lot.

find a new place to be from by sevensevan - ongoing glimbow and catradora ghostbusters fic, feat. trans bow and nonbinary adora! very powerful and the concept leaves me in tears. recent updates have made me cry repetitively <3

you did something to me and the blood in your mouth by artemiswords - both of these fics are INSANELY POWERFUL and i was really surprised by how accurate the season 5 predictions in the blood in your mouth were! both fics are catradora-centric - a fake dating au and a season 5 speculative fic that HITS

this whole series by buckysbears - catra-centric, focuses on her relationships with the bfs and her trauma, really worth the pain that comes with it! i’d also recommend time take us, a chronic pain adora au with a little bit of implied glitradora thrown in, and made for you, which ;w;

mark my words by lologoblins - catradora flower shop/tattoo artist + soulmates au, very soft and pure fluff with catra and adora being absolute gay messes and mara being hilarious

keep your money (you can take my time) by ehj - catradora coffee shop au from adora’s pov, you can feel the Gay Mess seeping from this one and i love it unconditionally

daylight and bouquet by fuhadeza - post-season 5 catradora being incredibly soft and fluffy and post-season 4 catradora learning to love respectively, both of which are incredibly soft and made me cry for entirely different reasons 

the aftershock (of your touch) by bow_woahh - soulmates catradora au in which catra struggles with her feelings for a whole lot of words and adora is just a complete mess (affectionate). very fluffy, contains its own brand of emotions

up in our bedroom after the war and the infinite of sky by herothehardway - the first is a post-season 5 speculative fic written post-season 5 that focuses on catradora recovering from the impact of the war, specifically on adora’s trauma, and the second is a post-season 5 fic focused on catra being a soft wife and helping adora through a bad night <3 both also made me cry, which i’m discovering is a very dramatic thing to do

My podfic of Learning Curve by ForsythiaRising is done and I’m SO FREAKING PROUD OF IT!

At two hours and change, it’s more than twice as long as anything I’ve done before; and I am inordinately proud of how much I leveled up my voicework, ability to handle tricky dialogue, and audio editing skills while I I let this project consume my life for the last month.  Oh, and bonus, I also podficced Learning Curve Plus by Fuhadeza.   Check ‘em out on A03

I wrote a fic! It’s set between 5x06 and 5x07 and it’s about moving forwards, learning to talk to people, and finding space peaceful. There’s also a love confession. But it’s canon compliant. You know you wanna know. Here’s a preview:

The only diary Catra has ever kept is in her head.

What would be the point of a physical volume? She would only fill it with lies. The truth is dangerous enough as a small voice in the back of her head. Lies are safer, but she hardly needs black letters on white paper to lie to herself.

Only the voice is louder, now. It’s keeping her awake. The remnants of Horde Prime’s control are sloughing off her body and her mind, the chip’s delicate interface coming apart, crumbling off her neck like rust. Like a scab. She bleeds in fits and starts, matting her fur, and every time she wipes the blood away it looks cleaner. Every time, the voice gets louder. She imagines ink smearing her fingers instead of blood. She imagines an empty expanse of cheap paper. She fills it.

The image is so vivid she almost thinks she’s dreaming. The page in her mind’s eye holds every truth she has kept close to her chest, every thought she has hidden in the seams of her clothing. Every emotion. It only takes five words, repeated in every version of her handwriting she can remember and some she can’t.

She came back for me, Catra writes, over and over, until she falls asleep with her claws digging into the sheets like the nib of a pen caught in paper.
