GEMMA CHAN at the photo call for “Don’t Worry Darling” in New York City on September 19th 2022 wearing LOUIS VUITTON
If there’s a red carpet, there’s a huge change Gemma will be wearing Louis Vuitton. Lately, LV has been showing a lot of metallic looks so this dress was a nice change. The pale blue was a beautiful color on Gemma. The feathers lol’ed great and I loved the addition of the black ribbon around her waist. It was a very romantic look.

HEADCANONS
🦉 Adores her father. A lot of her memories of home can be hazy, but she clings to what she does remember of him, and still writes him letters, even though she doesn’t know if they’re actually reaching him. She doesn’t want him to worry about her, even if she’s worrying about him.
🦉 Regularly spends her free time at the Evermore museum and gallery. She’s never been particularly into art, but wandering around the gallery reminds her of home in a way she can’t always place.
🦉 Her father did attempt to shield Cassandra from what her mother had done, but she was a smart kid, and worked out pretty quickly. After that, she used to daydream about being the one to bring the lost princess (and her mother) home. It was her favourite game as a kid, and was a motivator in her early training as she became more serious about the idea. While of course she’s happy Rapunzel is home, she’s never quite gotten over the fact that she was beaten to the punch by accident after how many years she put into training and searching.
🦉 Owns a couple of knives, and usually has one with her, just in case. She can’t exactly keep her sword with her, but being unarmed entirely feels like too much of a vulnerability, even if they are seemingly safer here— Cassandra doesn’t trust it.
🦉 Misses Owl more than she’ll admit. She trusts her dad to look after him while she’s away, but she still worries. After it became parent they were stuck, she considered trying to adopt a bird in town, but it didn’t feel right, in the end. She does have a grown collection of little owl ornaments and such, some of them she’s bought herself, and some she’s collected.
🦉 Had a slight crush on Rapunzel when they first met. It was obvious it was going nowhere and she’s past it now, but it definitely happened.
🦉 During the celebrations for Rapunzel’s return she snuck back to her old house to try and work some of her feelings out about the whole situation. It didn’t help as much as she’d hoped, but she buried most of what was left of the music box to try and put that whole part of her life to rest, and because part of her felt like she owed her mother some kind of a grave, even if there hadn’t been anything left of her. Being as mourning the kidnapper is a bad look, Cassandra’s father covered for her absence by saying she’d been sick during the celebrations, and she still sticks with that lie when the event comes up.
🦉 Even after all of her training, Cassandra is still a pretty mediocre shot with ranged weapons outside of static targets, so she’d rather stick with what she knows she’s good at and force wherever she’s up against info 1:1 fights. Now she’s having to rely more on her fists than her blades, she’s started training regularly at Uppercut.
🦉She’s a fairly regular visitor to the rage cage too, though she prefers to keep it quiet— she’s making an active effort to keep her temper in check, and that’s much more easily accomplished if she can go let off steam once a month or so.

The Creator (2023)
"As a future war between the human race and artificial intelligence rages on, ex-special forces agent Joshua is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI. The Creator has developed a mysterious weapon that has the power to end the war and all of mankind. As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy-occupied territory, they soon discover the world-ending weapon is actually an AI in the form of a young child."
Most of the time when I go and see a film that's exactly what it is, a film, or a movie. Sometimes it's a 'great film', and sometimes it's a 'decent movie'. Very, very rarely do I ever sit and watch a piece of work in the cinema and feel like I have watched art. This is one of those rare occasions. The Creator, by Gareth Edwards, is, for me, a flawless film.
Starting with the cinematography....it is a beautiful film. From start to finish, I believe in and am captivated by the world of this motion picture. The CGI is a huge part of that and, and may be some of the purest and most dynamic I have ever seen. It's not big and flashy, and in your face, like a lot of films.....and if it had been I think it would have ruined the aesthetic of what I was watching. Instead, the CGI works to enhance the realism of the images, and that is what it should do. We should be able to look at a film and say, "Yeah, obviously it's not real, but damn it looks like it bloody well is!!", and in most cases? We simply can't. In this you can genuinely believe that all of the robots are real. If I bumped into one on the street I wouldn't be put out by its apparent uniqueness. I'm no expert, but I can find no faults in the cinematography, from my perspective anyway.
The story is really well written. Like a lot of films it lifts bits and pieces from other aspects of cinema, and I saw reminders of films like Platoon, I Robot, A.I. and Blade Runner, to name just a few. Yet they didn't stand out as blaring additions. They were weaved into the narrative seamlessly, with just enough of a nod that they could be noticed but not overwhelm the scenes. I feel like the writers did an outstanding job and deserve any and all plaudits they are likely to get.
The performances throughout were simply brilliant, with quick shouts to Gemma Chan as Maya, Alison Janney as Colonel Howell, Ken Watanabe as Harun, and Amar Chadha-Patel as multiple simulants. This story was essentially the tale of a man and a child, played by John David Washington (as Joshua) and Madeleine Yuna Voyles (as Alphie). The relationship that was built between these two on set is obvious, and that clearly helped with the performances. They worked together so simply, and yet with such an elegance that it almost comes across as though Yuna has known David her whole life. The on-screen relationship builds from a rocky start. Joshua is, after, all out to destroy the 'weapon' that turns out to be Alphie. No spoilers, but any relationship on screen changes, as does that of Alphie and Joshua. Every performance was on point and should be recognised.
Overall, as the attached image says, I find this to be a flawless film. I can not find any faults, and so it can not get anything other than a perfect score. I know some people feel like there are issues with the timeline, but to them I say simply watch it again and count the days. There are no big jumps. The main body of the story takes place over a few days. It does all make sense. I promise. It's getting a maximum of 5/5, with a recommendation to everyone to go and see it. I'm certain everyone will get something from it.

MISS SOHEE, THE COUTURE LABEL THAT IS DELVING INTO FANTASY LIKE NO OTHER
MISS SOHEE, the new and emerging designer that is doing fantasy like no other. Her way of creating beautiful, artful women’s clothing is something that is worth delving deep into as her imagination takes fashion and cotoure into different sights.
Her couture pieces are made with fantasy and imagination that it almost seems surprising that Miss Sohee is only twenty five year old. With her artful takes on couture it is so lively and intricate you would believe someone of a much older and with a higher caliber would do what she does. With her designs she activates our imagination and makes us delve into our fantasy, or in this case her own. Someone who has not been in the fashion industry for that long, she has the mastery and expertise to compete with much older houses and that is what makes her and her work so brilliant.
Sohee Park, extraordinary creations were first put into use in high school where she would draw and paint, expressing her own fantasy world which resulted in her now notable creations for her own namesake label MISS SOHEE. However, what struck her to go down the fashion path was getting a chance to view a Chanel Fashion show on TV in 2012 which catapulted the talented creative to begin her fashion journey at Central Saint Martins. Throughout her time at CSM, Park interned for Marc Jacobs and Molly Goddarad, and here she honed in her creative skills and ethereal aesthetic which can be seen in the flower brooches and headpieces she helped make for Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 collection.
Her debut collection under her namesake label MISS SOHEE. “The Girl In Full Bloom”, was produced during lockdown and released in a series of beautiful and striking photographs that captured my attention as well as many others. From the colors used the striking pieces to the penchant for sculptural silhouettes “The Girl in Full Bloom” Fall/Winter 2020 collection was a notable collection for MISS SOHEE that undoubtedly catapulted her in success within fashion as a young creative and garnered many fashion lovers alike. Looks from her debut collection have been featured on the cover of LOVE magazine.
In addition, the young creative has also collaborated with the amazing Christian Cowan, blown away by her work he asked to collaborate on a trio of looks from his Spring 2021 collection which have already been seen on big acts like Bella Hadid for Vogue Espana, March 2021. The photographs captured the essence and ethereal aesthetic that is MISS SOHEE and Christian Cowan as one. With the demi couture, floral inspired pieces for the collection worn by model Georgie Hobday, the collaborative collection was an outstanding masterpiece.
Park’s latest Fall/Winter 2021 collection, “HaenYeo”, has propelled her namesake brand MISS SOHEE into even more success. With its focus on being eco conscious and sustainable, MISS SOHEE has once again outdone herself with this collection. MISS SOHEE’s sophomore collection “HaenYeo” couture collection, which is an ode to the sea women of Korea, continues the brands focus on beautiful craftsmanship, extraordinary sculpted gowns, and fantastic headpieces that capture the brand’s craftsmanship and Park’s artistry. This second time around, the collection is filled with shell-like elements that exhibit intricate detailings of corrals and shellfish which she gained inspiration from her late grandmother's home which is by the sea. With use of ocean treasures and life, MISS SOHEE used this inspiration to create an even more beautiful and introspective collection than her last. Using deadstock and recycled fabrics, MISS SOHEE has amassed many stars from the likes of Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, and Gemma Chan.
The new and emerging designer has already captured my heart and the heart of many others and I can't wait to see what MISS SOHEE’s beautiful, intricate collections take on a bigger life than it already has.

Spoiler Free Dont Worry Darling thoughts:
I genuinely really enjoyed it!!
Harry did very well, genuinely better than I thought he would. I love his voice for acting. There was a scene that made me really want him in a rom com. There was a bit or two where I thought he could tone down his facials but overall I’m very proud.
Florence as usual is an icon a legend a talented QUEEN she is just so natural and transformative
I forget how much I love Chris Pine as an actor lol he’s so good at being creepy but charming at the same time like…I believe him as a cult actor.
Lots of great side performances especially Gemma Chan.
The sex scenes are basically only what’s in the trailer so it’s kind of funny how big a deal everyone has made of that.
Super interesting ending choice.
Aesthetically very pleasing all around!!

Finally got round to watching Don't Worry, Darling. I actually thought it was OK and nowhere near as bad as I expected. I loved the aesthetic + soundtrack and the unsettling weirdness of it all plus the explanation of what was really going on. I thought Florence Pugh and Chris Pine + Gemma Chan were all good in it (sorry to any Harry fans but I didn't think he was that great) plus it was great to get an unexpected Dita Von Teese cameo.

Don’t worry darling was a good movie, was it great? No, but it wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be.
Spoilers***
The film itself was incredible, it had amazing cinematography. Every outfit was so unique and beautifully mirrored that Art Deco 50s type aesthetic, hope they win something for costume design. I felt very immersed in the world, as if I was actually there. The old music made the environment even more unsettling and really fit the vibe.
Now, the story. From what I gathered, Victory is a program, using advanced technology, that allows you to escape from the real world into an idyllic, nuclear family, white picket fence world. We know Jack put Alice in the simulation against her will, which I believe played on the continuous theme of male control, in a patriarchal society. None of the women were there on their own accord it seemed, besides Bunny, who had lost her children in the real world leading her to willingly go into it. Florence Pugh was phenomenal as always, the character of Alice was beautifully written as someone on the verge of insanity, yet completely sane in the sense that she was right, and she stuck to it. Harry Styles didn’t do terrible, was it an academy award winning performance, no not even close. But, he played his character well, he was emotional, and his purpose of thinking he though he could create a better life for Alice, all while forcing her and gaslighting her into a fake reality, thinking he was helping her, was extremely terrifying, as some people listen to things and follow blindly, Andrew Tate and Donald Trump both come to mind. Chris Pine was delightfully disturbing as we didn’t, and still don’t know much about his character. We know he was the one to program the simulation of Victory, and that he promoted through a podcast that Jack listened to, other than that though, he’s a complete mystery, making him all the more unnerving when it came to what he was doing and why. Olivia Wilde’s character surprised me, as I didn’t think she’d have such a major role in the plot. To be honest though, I loved her and Florence’s chemistry, I think they had the best out of all the relationships we see throughout the movie, as in the end, she realized what was happening was wrong, and even though she was happy in this false world, the other women there were being blindly controlled without their consent. I was left with a few questions though. What exactly was the Victory project, in the sense that, what did all the men do each day, what were the earthquakes that would periodically happened, where did that red plane go, what happened to Margret and her family, did Gemma Chan’s character, like Bunny, also know she was trapped? So many questions left unanswered, but I think that made it all the more disturbing.
Overall, I give it an 8/10, there were some plot holes, and I don’t necessarily like how we were left hanging at the end, but I think people have gotten so wrapped up in the real world drama that’s occurred because of this film, they’re completely disregarding it and choosing to see it in a negative light. That is not to say that whatever Olivia said to Flo is justifiable, or anything that happened on set was appropriate (team Flo here), but I urge you to look at it from a perspective opposite from what’s happened during the production of the film, and truly appreciate the story and film itself.

BACKGROUND/CAREER.
mei zhong was originally born in hong kong-- in fact, her parents over there are pretty big shots -- her father is a big time tech company ceo and her mother is an executive at the company too. the zhongs come from generations and generations of wealth.
even though her parents were quite busy, they made sure to make time for all of their kids, as they relied heavily on their future success and wanted to make sure they could contribute and give them as good of a childhood as possible. mei is a middle child and has 4 other siblings.
mei was always a bit of the problem child, but she didn't care one bit. she always proposed business plans at school and attempted to start pretend businesses just to feel like she was in power.. selling candy bars for money even if she didn't need the extra cash. she tended to act out in class too when she didn't get her way, and it was starting to annoy her parents at best.
she was definitely one of the mean girls in middle school, but in high school toned it down a bit just so she could hopefully get accepted into one of the top colleges in the country-- which, although she was accepted to most of them, she ended up dropping out after the first semester due to some bad decisions she had made.
she became a bit of a party girl, not focused enough on her studies, and realistically didn't even know what she wanted to major in. on a whirlwind decision and without letting her parents know, she dropped out and decided to live with her friends for a while-- before realizing that she had no more money and eventually needed to run back to them.
with that, her parents accepted her back into their home, but on terms that she would work for her father's business as an executive admin for one of the big-time leaders at the company. it practically drained her, and she was miserable for the years that she worked there.
during that time, she was introduced to a man that belonged to another big time family that her parents knew well-- in fact, they were best friends. mei was pretty pressured to marry him only after a year of the two meeting, and by the age of 22 she was settled down-- or so we thought.
she felt trapped in hong kong. she was ready to get away, start her own business and find success on her own (with her parent's money). a friend had suggested moving out to la with them, and without hesitation she went out their on her own, even leaving her husband behind and promising that it was just a business trip. her parents unknowingly supported the idea, thinking it would help make the family more money, when in reality it could possibly have ruined everything for them. and by the young age of 26, she was off to the us in attempts to build her own successful design firm.
surprisingly enough, it was almost a cake walk for mei to create such a successful business. her parents had plenty of clients, friends and family in the us and they all wanted to support mei's business, which only spread like wildfire and only a year in she was already gaining a-list celebrity clientele.
it only took a few trips out to the us and a few more years of bickering back and forth before mei and her husband to realize that they were not meant to be. it was a silly attempt of their parents to matchmake, but ultimately they both wanted to go down separate paths that didn't make sense for them to continue forth-- plus, her husband was constantly paranoid that she was cheating on him with some new american boy (she was, but that's not the point LMAO).
suddenly, after what only seemed like a year had passed it had now been ten years since she first moved to the us and she received an abrupt reminder that her visa was expiring very soon-- but mei wasn't ready to fully commit to america and become a citizen, and her parents were begging her to come back home. rushing and looking for any possible loophole for her to stay in the us a bit longer, she was reminded that she could get married and it would buy her some time.. who gives a fuck if it's illegal?
that led her to meeting a starving artist who couldn't be more of an opposite to her. but, she was desperate, as was the other person for some money, and after a bit of negotiations the two decided to elope in vegas (how romantic).
as the two continue to attempt to live in peace and harmony with each other, it's become harder and harder every day. the two are constantly butting heads and it's becoming increasingly more difficult for them to keep up the act. but mei would do anything to stay in the us just for that extra bit of cash before relocating.
PERSONALITY.
even though mei seems like a selfish bitch, she isn't... not always, at least. she's simply been taught and told to always put herself first, and she wants nothing more than to receive her parents' validation so that they know she can make good decisions for the family.
although she does seem very career oriented, give her a couple glasses of wine and she'll return to her old party girl self that we met back in her one semester of college.
definitely a bit materialistic, especially now that she's friends and clients that are celebrities. she had plenty of famous friends back in hong kong but it felt a bit different in the us.
she is secretly very nurturing-- wouldn't show that to anyone except for the people she truly loves and cares for, and would take care of them in a heartbeat-- especially her siblings.
HEADCANONS.
secretly wants kids very very badly and her parents are starting to pressure her to have some to continue the family legacy... yikes
you will NEVER catch her in sweatpants. she has to dress for success and it's gotten her pretty far in life.
will be a disheveled mess if she doesn't go to her daily yoga sessions.
also needs a cup of coffee to make sure her day goes smoothly, otherwise it's over for everyone #millenialthings
secretly a hopeless romantic... her current situation says otherwise but she cares a lot more about her career atm
