Comte's Ghost Mansion (IkeVamp; Luigi's Mansion AU) Part 1
a/n: Heavily (more like, entirely) inspired by @scummy-writes's playthrough of Luigi's Mansion. 'Twas a lot of fun merging the wackiness of that game with the IkeVamp universe! Multiple parts have already been written, to varying degrees of polish, so I'll be posting them on a schedule (Tentatively, one part per week). Without further ado, Enjoyyy ✨
Tags: Humor, Crack treated seriously, Luigi's Mansion AU, Spooky scary spectral vampires, Ghostbuster MC Word Count: 1000 words Characters: You, Sebastian, Comte (mentioned) Next: Part 2
~*~
You woke up in a dark endless abyss with a headache.
"Where...am I?"
You were not sure how long you were out for, but it must have been a long time.
Last you remembered, you were walking around the Louvre museum in the daytime. A handsome man in a three-piece tailored suit had graciously retrieved your earring from the ground, only to drop and forgot his own handkerchief.
You, wanting nothing more than to return the favor, sought to return it to him. Your quest led you to a secluded section of the museum, barren of any foot traffic, and past a set of large double doors that appeared, at the time, as part of the museum experience.
In hindsight, the dwindling number of visitors around you should have alerted you to think otherwise.
Lightning flashed and the hallway blinked in view, like a snapshot captured with a camera shutter. Thunder cracked once, twice, forcing you out of memory lane and back into the present.
In the split-second that you saw the hallway, a line of tall arched windows stood to your left and closed wooden doors to your right. A high-backed chair was stationed between each door, and a framed picture hung above it. A wall blocked the path at one end and extended into darkness in the other. So, not an endless abyss. But it was not the Louvre museum, either.
Slowly, hesitantly, you took a step forward, and another, and then another, keeping your eyes peeled for any signs of an exit. A door creaked nearby.
You scrambled to hide behind the nearest curtains, but you were caught by two firm hands. Your heart lurched in your throat. You turned around to face your assailant, and a second round of lightning gave you a chance to get a good look. It was a young man with grayish hair swept to one side, his eyes narrow and inquisitive.
"Who are you, and how did you get in here?" He asked, though he did not wait for a response. "Doesn't matter, let's get you out before the others notice."
You followed him through the maze of hallways, each turn taking you down an identical path. It was a wonder that your guide could tell heads from tails in the darkness.
"Watch your step," he called out as the two of you descended a set of grand stairs.
Just when you thought you reached the bottom, you were met with more stairs. Blood pumped in your ears as you focused on getting out of here, one step at a time. You sighed in relief when the first sliver of light peeked through the grand double doors at the opposite end of what, you assumed, was the foyer.
Once outside, you gawked at the building you just escaped. It was a three-story mansion. Grapevines crept around and across the walls and into some open windows. Dark clouds loomed over the estate, but the rain died down into a drizzle.
"Don't fall behind, now!" Your guide called out from the garden up ahead. Rather than continue straight ahead and out the gate, he took a turn going behind the mansion. You stared at the open gate, contemplating your chance of survival. Feeling unsafe venturing out into the unknown, you kept up pace with him along a narrow cobblestone path.
He stopped abruptly, causing you to bump into his back, and asked, "Where did you say you were from?"
You huffed and said, "If you would've let me speak the first time..." You explained your situation to him, and he furrowed his brows. You then barraged him with your own set of questions. Rather than answer any of them, he turned on his heel and talked on the way.
He introduced himself as Sebastian. He woke up in a similar way to what you had described a few years prior.
“I’m sorry, did you say years?” You gaped. What hope did you have of returning home if he had not done so yet?
He continued. "I came face to face with the head of this mansion, a French nobleman who goes by the title, Le Comte de Saint-Germain. He gave me an offer I could not refuse, and so I serve the mansion as its butler."
He stopped in front of a quaint wooden garden shack.
Facing you, he wore a wry smile as he said, "I would like to consider myself lucky, as I haven't seen another human in quite some time. But you, I'm afraid, are out of luck to end up here."
Your eyes shifted. "What do you mean by that?"
"Wait here."
He ducked inside and came out with a backpack that looked an awful lot like a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum tube in his hands only further confirmed your suspicions.
He reminded you of a ghostbuster.
"Unfortunately, I don't know how to get you home. But what I can offer is a means to defend yourself for the night.
"Defend myself?" You echoed. "Against what?"
That was how you ended up back inside the mansion, carrying Sebastian's 'Poltergust 1899' (as he proudly called it) on your back, alongside an oil lamp in hand and an item pouch around your shoulder.
What’s the pouch for? You may be wondering.
After much debate with the butler, you agreed to retrieve "items of interest" for him if he promised to investigate a means of getting you back home. His final remark was to avoid disturbing the mansion's esteemed residents and, contrarily, to report back any interesting behavior you encounter, seemingly of said residents.
The main entrance door creaked open. The mansion's foyer was bedecked with a carpeted floor that stretched up its wide central staircase. White Ionic columns lined the sides. At the top of the stairs, bright moonlight shone through, enveloping the room in a bluish hue.
The door slamming shut behind you pulled your flighty spirit back into its boney prison. Several voices murmured behind the walls.
You caught some of their words, or so you believed.
"A guest?"
"They returned!"
"Oh dear."
"How delightful."
"Go away."
You wished you didn't.

oh i almost forgot to share these! made some hatbox ghost themed fakemon a little while back! i'm thinking of doing an entire disneyland-themed fan region, but have these little guys for now :]
in order, their names are Hatbitty, Hatboo, Hauntbox and Alisterror! (the second set of pics is their shiny versions, plus an approximate height chart at the end there)
more info below the cut!
Tumblr media
Hatbitty - The Top-Hat Pokémon (ghost)
"It is unknown what the entirety of this Pokémon’s body looks like. It spends most of its time beneath the brim of its hat-shell, which is constantly filled with shadows."
Small enough to be worn like a normal hat by its trainer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(second image is noncanon but i thought it was a funny idea lol)
Hatboo - The Hatbox Pokémon (ghost/dark)
"Though not as skittish as its evolutionary predecessor, Hatboos are still reclusive creatures. It will often hide from humans for long periods of time, usually in places like the attics of old houses."
Evolves from Hatbitty at level 13
Has skinny little legs hidden beneath its feathery "skirt"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hauntbox - The Hat Trick Pokémon (ghost/dark)
"No longer confining itself to the shadows, this Pokémon loves to entertain and bewilder. Teleporting its floating head around is its favorite party trick."
Evolves from Hatboo at level 31 (high friendship stat)
Tumblr media
Alisterror - The Occultist Pokémon (ghost/psychic)
"A ruthless, cunning Pokémon born from a life of neglect. It is said many inexperienced trainers have tried to pursue it, but never returned."
Evolves from Hatboo at level 31 (low friendship stat)

Possesed Bowser
I REEEEEEEALLY LOVE KING BOO if that wasn't obvious enough. I saw @kerrtesy make a thing , King Boo's final Gambit . Spirit Tracks lookin ass and I LOVE IT!!!!!
KB would totally kick Bowser outta his own body for his use lol. And I wanted to throw my hand at giving a sketch of what I think that would look like, I hope you enjoy @kerrtesy !!!! Even if this doodle is tiny and on lined paper lmao
I really enjoy your thingy!
Tumblr media
Possesed Bowser has a protective Neck Brace connected to an armour plate that goes over his scales. Its a thin piece of armour so he can still retract into his shell, however this entire thing is to keep his Head on his body.
King Boo remembers his Puppet Bowser from the first game and sees how his possesion effects Bowser's real body: aka parts of the koopa's body becoming ghastly and able to detatch. So KB out of total parranoa strapped this chestplate to Bowser's body. (And hey, it ended up being a good idea. So Luigi would have a harder time nocking the Koopa onto his back and would have to find another way to get to the spector, not expecting Bowser's ghost to be coaperative enough to work with the green bean lol)
The amrour has spikes that can go in and out for accesablility, it also has a little Boo shaped lock! Because how would Luigi have anything that resembles a Boo in this fight between them? Genious!
Bowser's body reacts strangly to King Boo possesing him, the body is in half of a stage of panic wanting to Revive Bowser from the inside out (like we see in Inside Story) but at the same time, his body is alive??? His body kinda freaking out. Which is annoying to the spector because if he can't convince the body that it is Fine. Then he'll have a sudden growth sprout lmao. Smack his head into the ceiling and break something while in the middle of trying to plot evily, bro wont be able to get anything done if he just outgrows it and breaks it everytime (bc remember, revived Bowser becomes a Kaiju)
KB would work around it ofc, bc Kaiju Bowser would be very useful! Step on Luigi and kill him. EZ.... Right?
Bowser's arms are ghastly and stretch out all spooky like yeehaw. The bottom half of his legs are also ghastly which makes it easier for KB to traverse the big boy's body places or phaze through floors a little bit as a treat.
Reach through floors or train karts to try and bitch slap Luigi

Thinking about An Le again and all the potential everything with him...
Lang Qianqiu's best friend who befriended him specifically as part of a rebellion plot
Mentored by Qi Rong, and was probably pretty close to him (QR seems to have been around since before XL became LQQ's mentor so it sounds like QR practically raised him since he was a kid)
HIS DEATH WAS ACTUALLY REALLY BRUTAL (deserved but yikes!)
Still really want to know what his dynamic with QR was like. Did QR feel anything about his death...
Was he seen as a champion of the Xianle people? We know how pure and heroic LQQ is, so I feel like An Le would have had to outwardly be like that too for them to be close friends
Was LQQ there for his death or did he learn of it later... (probably the latter because he had no idea An Le hated him and I doubt that's something An Le would conceal on his death bed. He's dying, may as well stick the knife into his bestie as deep as it will go!)
Anyway it is just thinking about An Le hours and I really hope the donghua expands on him a little the way it did for Pei Xiu & Banyue's backstory before

I have decided to do an AU of the Haunted Mansion with inspiration of the Jungle Book and the Graveyard Book.
A young boy raised by the 999 ghosts within the mansion itself, adopted personally by The late master of the Mansion, Gracey. Many could wonder why would he ever want to raised a living child within the mansion… but perhaps maybe because the Master pitied the child and wanted to feel something other then emptiness, though raising a child is never an easy task especially when you are a ghost.
Still, Gracey decides to name the child….
Tumblr media
Being the only living individual that lives in the mansion (outside of the graves keeper and his dog), child is often watched over by many of its residents. Gracey once thought of raising him alone but it was a difficult. Thankfully, some of the more kinder and helpful spirits offer to help Gracey raise the boy together. Of course, There are often complains of having a living person. Stay at the manor since it dampens the gloom and peace they enjoy…but the simple bravery and playfulness was enough to their mind. As long as the child doesn’t bother their haunts…then it is fine.
So Adam was accepted into the Manor.
Being the new resident, Adam did not mind the dark, gloomy Atmosphere or the hauntings that happen around him since they were since it is another day in the mansion, instead he was the kind to wander off on his own and sometimes follow the ghosts as a baby. He laughs are their dark humor and antics while often caught climbing in high places. By the end of the day, most of the ghosts become exhausted..but they enjoy the child nonetheless.
Now Adam is at the age of 5, Adam already knows most of his ghostly families stories between their birth to death as always done his best to be friendly to every one of them…including the mean ghosts as well. He is spirited and quite a daring child who don’t mind having most of his adventures spent within the Mansion property but also a diligent with his responsibilities and chores around the place as well.
Adam loves to spend his days, exploring the mansion, reading many books within the library and spending time with the other ghosts though it is difficult since he is the only one who is alive and most of their antics are…deadly but Adam doesn’t mind. His father, Gracey does which is often forbidden to participate in them. He even likes to listen to their stories and tales of their former lives as well. Like everyone else in the Manor, Adam has a dark sense of humor as well.

haunted mansion au
barb and jim move into an old, creepy mansion only to find out it’s super haunted. they try to leave, but are forced back when a couple of ghosts follow them and demand they return to the house
strickler is the ‘priest’ they call to exorcise the ghosts. doesn’t work. douxie is the astrophysicist turned tour guide with a tragic backstory and special lens that can photograph ghosts. does work. claire is the psychic medium with a surprisingly good yelp score for someone so young. works really, really well. and nancy domzalski is the old historian with a heart condition (toby’s there too, because he goes wherever his nana does)
together they unravel the mystery of the mansion, defeat the hatbox ghost, and become a family
the end

Hello!
Ok, so...if it wasn't a problem, do you have something you would like to share about "Accidental Ghost King Luigi"?
I saw that you mentioned it and it really caught my attention, a lot of thoughts came up when I finished Luigi's Mansion 3 and I love expanding them.
So most of the ideas were discussed here, but I can scrounge up some more.
TL;DR for this AU : E.Gadd passes away, leaving in his will everything he owns to Luigi, who is now probably the richest man in the mushroom kingdom between the estates, the cash and the employees, living or not. (Spoilers alert : once Luigi realizes exactly how much he owns, he freaks out so much he hides under his blanket for several hours, with Mario patting the bundle and occasionally slipping snacks under it).
Then once he calms down enough, he wants to give everything away but it turns out to not be that simple, explains the Toad in charge of giving the will to Luigi:
"What if I DON'T want all of this ??"
"I don't know about the ready money or the coffee shop, but by all ghost and Boo laws, you are the rightful master of these places that you earned through Right of Conquest until someone else comes to dethrone you."
And it turns out, yes, by beating King Boo three times, on his haunting ground, with the last time being a direct challenge to Luigi and his kin, Luigi effectively conquered him, with all of his ghosts and Boos. And King Boo was a very powerful ghost. Luigi is now King Luigi.
"Why was E.Gadd even the owner of these places then, he wasn't the one chasing ghosts there !"
"Oh, he wasn't the actual owner of anything: before the dark moon incident, the ghosts were not agressive and let him play around, and afterwards, he acted as your steward to maintain your domains in your absence"
"Wait, is that why King Boo keeps coming after me ? Not just by revenge?"
"Oh yes, definitely, you dethroned him three times, that's a bad number for a spirit."
Peach, who has to deal regularly with a king ruling over a place where 90% of roaylty dealings involve kidnapping : "oh, Luigi dear..."
Except E.Gadd comes back. As a ghost. And he's still obsessed with science, but now without any of these pesky mortal ethics or boundaries. To the point his experiences go from "eyebrow-raising in the methods but ultimately for the greater good" to "mad scientist except this one is perfectly aware of what his potential enemies can do and acts accordingly."
At first he seems relatively reasonable...until Luigi refuses to give him back Gooigi AND the rest of the ghosts, too. Maybe he has grown fond of his new "subjects", or maybe he senses giving E.Gadd full control of the ghosts is a bad idea.
"My boy, do you think you could use my own creations against me ? I know them better inside out than you can ever do !!"
E.Gadd doesn't take it well.
E.Gadd is now very curious and vindicative towards this meddling new Ghost King who dares to get in the way of his research.
E.Gadd issues a challenge. And by challenge we mean that he takes possession of Luigi's territories. Probably kidnaps Mario & co, AND Polterpup (he knows how to capture ghosts, and he knows how helpful the ghost pup is to Luigi). Oh, and he steals and breaks all existing Poltergusts.
Now Luigi is stuck in a dangerous place with a mad ghost after him, unarmed, alone...except for King Boo, still stuck in his container, that he managed to grab on the way out of the laboratory.
King Boo is angry at Luigi for stealing his title, but he certainly isn't going to let the professor beat HIS nemesis!! What will the rest of the spectral community say if the one who defeated him loses his new title so fast?? Luigi isn't sure about the logic behind this reasoning, but he'll take any help he can get.
So now it's the team up of the century, and by that I mean King Boo snarking and loudly complaining from his container, asking again and again to be let out, while Luigi tries to survive and to keep KB inside the container (he has enough on his plate, he doesn't want another mad ghost after him); all while KB actually guides Luigi through the mysteries of ghosts and spectres, as well as the intricacies of the Ghost King title. But even after King Boo manages to get out of the container at some point, he still sticks by Luigi. You can guess why.
A Very Important Plot Point: King Boo gets frustrated by how much time Luigi takes and decides to shove some spectral power in him to level the field.
That's a fun surprise : King Boo's spectral essence boosts up Luigi's Thunderhand (that he had stopped using due to how taxing it was on his body; but now the Boo power helps circumventing this energy tax). KB acts as the new "source" and makes it way more potent, especially given his own affinity with lightning.
"Isn't that cheating ?"
"Have you even MET ME ??? Here, have some of my power, it should AT LEAST give you a boost so you won't die right after touching a gho-"
*huge thunderbolt crashing on the house frizzing everything electrical device*
"....WHAT WAS THAT"
"Uh....it never did that before."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN "IT NEVER DID THAT BEFORE ?? YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME YOU HAD LATENT MAGICAL ABILITIES!!?? WHY DID YOU NEVER USE THEM AGAINST ME !!!???"
Later, when they manage to free Mario, KB eyes Mario suspiciously for a loooong moment as both brothers look in hope.
Then he shrugs : "Nah, not gonna happen"
"What?? Why ??"
"It's more fun if Luigi gets my power, he's my nemesis. Just ask Bowser to lend you fire powers next time you see him"
"That's ridiculous, with everything at stake..."
"More seriously, you are NOT my nemesis. You did NOT deal with my powers as intimately as Luigi did"
"Don't put it that way please"
"Even if I wanted to provide you power, Mario is much weaker to my powers, he wouldn't be able to harness them."

Ghosts of the Past AU (Part 3)
They were closing in, all at the ready to tear him apart. Luigi trembled and tried to use his poltergust to keep them away, make way to get to the door but it was no use, they had him cornered. He felt ready to cry. This isn't how he wanted to go. He didn't want to die. If they finished with him, Mario would be next, he couldn't allow that.
He went to use the flush on Dimentio but it gave Antasma the opening he needed to rip the poltergust right off of him and throw it to the side, leaving him unarmed. King Boo laughed at seeing the newfound terror in the plumber's expression. Now he was truly at their mercy, mercy they didn't have, not for him.
Just as he felt like this was this end, who else would come to his rescue but his loyal companion, Polterpup. The usually playful ghost dog was barking and growling, jumping around and biting the three villains, giving Luigi a short moment to get back to his senses and run past them all, snatching his poltergust on the way and exiting the room. Once he was out, Polterpup ceased his chaotic attack and ran after him, leaving the villains to realize what happened and float after the two.
Luigi ran as fast as he could around the mansion, trying to reach the front doors and escape, coming to a halt when he discovered that it would be of no use as the doors had been replaced with stone. He went to the closest window, smashing it open but to his horror, it was of no use. The area around the mansion was no more, fully gone, like the chunk that had the mansion on it was ripped off and put in a whole other dimension. All he could see was a dark purple void, stretching endlessly all around him. He was trapped.
Polterpup heard the three villain close in on them, so it bit Luigi's sleeve and phased through the floor with him and to the basement of the mansion, helping him hurry to any hiding spot they could find so they wouldn't be caught. Luigi was struggling to breathe, his heart beating so hard it ached, his vision was blurred and he couldn't focus on the world around him. It only grew worse when he heard his pursuers talking above them, gripping his hat for dear life and pulling it down on his head until it covered his tearing eyes. Polterpup let out a whine and laid on his lap to try and comfort him but that could only do so much.
Right above them, the three ghosts were looking at the broken window in utter disbelief. "There's no way he jumped off" insisted King Boo as Dimentio flew out and looked over the edge. "He might have. Might have lost his mind vizh terror and chose death" Antasma assumed. Dimentio, however, objected, "I don't think so, my bat friend. If he did, we would still be hearing his echoing shrieks of terror. Besides, Luigi is a man who loves to live, he wouldn't throw himself away just like that. He must still be in here, hiding.".
"No matter, this still works for us. That scaredy cat doesn't have many options here. He either goes insane hiding away, gets caught, or he comes to face us. Who knows, perhaps we can give him some...encouragement to make his decision quicker" cackled King Boo, leading his allies away from the window and deeper into the mansion.
After not hearing a single thing for a few minutes, Luigi felt safe enough to burst out crying, hugging his only companion tightly as it whined and nuzzled him to try and comfort him. How could this happen to him? Why must this happen to him. What did they plan to do? What could he do? This was nothing like before, he had no safe area to rest in this place, his only possible way of communication with E-Gadd was gone and he had no idea if anything else was waiting for him in the shadows on this mansion. He was all alone and everything was out to get him. He went over all the choices he made that day and wished he could go back and change them so he wouldn't have ended up in this situation. He wanted to scream, to shout, to cry, to close his eyes and pretend this was all just a bad dream but knew if he did, it would be game over.
After what felt like forever, he had no more tears to let out, for now at least, and spent a good 5 minutes breathing deeply and evenly so he could get his thoughts in order. Petting Polterpup helped too. The ghosts had been right, he didn't have many choices, and only one was the right choice. He had to face them and capture them. Even if he got out without doing so, they'd be free to roam and they might go after other people he cared for, King Boo was especially good at that. He hoped he hadn't already.
He finally got up, straightened his hat and turned on the flashlight.
Time to hunt some ghosts.
-------
This was pretty rushed and not that exciting, plus it's short but I really wanted to take a small break from college work and write something fun so boom. Eat up children. I'll make the future parts better, I promise.

Stop Possessing My Boyfriend (Newt x Reader)
Requested by my amazing friend @the-bibliophile-public-library!!! Summary: The gang’s car breaks down by an abandoned, haunted mansion. They decide to investigate and in doing so, Newt gets possessed by a ghost hoping to win Y/n’s love and affection as she looks like an old lover. It’s pretty cheesy, but I have a better one being released a bit later. :)
The full moon that always prophesied odd things shone brightly on the car. It bounced off the windows, momentarily blinding the people inside. Thomas felt the engine under him rattle and he cursed.
“What’s wrong, Tom?” From the passenger seat, Teresa looked up from her book.
“Somethings wrong with the engine,” he muttered. Suddenly, the car lurched forward and came to a surprising, complete stop.
Minho let out a scream and yanked out an earbud. “What was that?” He cried.
“Go back to sleep, love.” Newt whispered to Y/n from the very back. He rubbed her back and she laid her head back on his shoulder, awakened by the sudden movement.
“No, no,” Thomas said, “guys, I think something’s wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Newt asked, brows furrowed. His arm tightened around Y/n unconsciously. She hummed and snuggled into him, unaware of the situation.
Thomas said, “I don’t know,” then got out of the car. Teresa frowned and glanced back at her friends. Minho shrugged, a hint of concern in his eyes. Gally, who was sitting next to him, got out as well. Gally and Thomas opened the hood and rummaged around, talking adamantly. Gally eventually pointed at something. Thomas shook his head but Gally looked at him like he was stupid and said something loudly. Thomas countered his point but after Gally shook his head, Thomas ceded. They both got back in the car and Thomas said, “There’s a leak in the radiator. It overheated. We're stuck until we can get a tow- truck.”
“So we’re staying the night here?” Minho started freaking out. “I can’t do my hair in a car!”
“Relax,” Teresa held up a hand, “it looks like there’s a mansion, hotel- looking place up on that hill. Why don’t we go ask the owner where the nearest mechanic is?”
“Can’t we just call someone?” Gally snarked.
Teresa glared at him. “We could also ask to stay the night if need be. I’m sure they have plenty of room.”
“In that creepy- ass mansion?” Thomas asked sarcastically, “Yeah, this isn’t a horror movie at all.”
“Let’s just go see.” Teresa opened her door, deciding for the group.
Newt gently rubbed Y/n’s arm, whispering, “Love, we need to go.”
“But you’re so comfortable!” Y/n whined, still in her sleepy state.
“I know,” he grinned, “but do you wanna sleep in the car?” Y/n hummed, contemplating it. “It’ll be cold,” Newt warned. Reluctantly, Y/n peeled herself off of Newt and crawled out of the car.
Before Teresa could lock the doors, she rummaged around the trunk and pulled out a sweater. “That’s mine!” Newt protested as Y/n tugged it over her head.
“Yeah, that’s why I like it.” Y/n took his hand and the group trouped towards the mysterious mansion. The moon shone brightly, illuminating their way.
The group finally made their way up the hill and to the mansion and forced Gally to knock on it. Eerily, the door swung open after the last resounding knock. It creaked agape with no one beckoning them in. Gally stepped forward to try and see their host, but no one appeared out of the darkness.
“Nope,” Minho swung back around and headed for the car.
Teresa caught his arm and pulled him inside, muttering, “Come here you big pussy.”
“I don’t like this.” Thomas shook his head, but followed after everyone else.
“Ditto,” Y/n agreed.
After the imposing, dark foyer that entered to a grand staircase with obsidian railings and black candles, there was the sitting room with ominous Victorian furniture. Then there was the kitchen with old utensils and facilities and finally, the set up dining room with plates, silk napkins, and shadowing candelabras that connected back into the foyer.
Suddenly, a cold wind swept through the house, slamming the door shut and chilling Y/n to her bones.
“Absolutely not!” Minho shrieked. “I am not about to be a white person in a horror movie.”
“Did anyone else feel that chill?” Y/n asked. Newt looked at her worriedly. Little did they know, someone else was watching as well.
Bob and Carl watched from the bannister of their house. “Intruders.” Carl lazily said.
“No, no,” Bob corrected, “visitors. Look at her!”
“Bob,” Carl sighed, “are you sure she’s the one? She doesn’t look anything like Angie.”
“I’m sure, Carl.” Bob huffed, “Look at the eyes. Angie had eyes just like that.”
“Maybe Angie is just somewhere we can’t find her.” Carl suggested, staring inquisitively at Y/n.
“Not possible. Angie died at the hospital. The curse was only placed on this house, remember?”
“Of course I remember!” Carl cried, “It’s all I have to think about!”
“Shut up,” Bob growled. “That’s Angie.”
“But, new Angie has a boy- toy on her arm.” Carl pointed to Newt. “What are you gonna do about him?”
Bob grinned. “Possess him, of course. How else will I get Angie to stay here forever?”
Carl sighed and floated through the bannister down to the first floor. He slowly walked through the group of humans, eliciting a shiver whenever he brushed up against one of them. Stopping in front of Y/n, he whispered, “I’m sorry. But Bob thinks you look familiar. Your lover boy will be acting a bit differently until you can get Bob to confess who he really is.” Y/n looked around, confused. Was someone talking?
With a loud cackle, Bob flew down from the second floor and collided with Newt. Newt stumbled back and started coughing loudly.
“Newt, are you okay?” Y/n touched his back. “What’s wrong?”
Then, as quickly as it started, the coughing fit ended and Newt straightened back up. “I’m perfectly fine, sweetie.”
Y/n cocked an eyebrow. “Sweetie? That’s a new one.”
Newt blinked before hurridley saying, “Hm. That’s true.” He shrugged. “Oh well.”
“Newtie,” Y/n frowned, “are you sure you’re okay? You seem a little off.”
“I’m wonderful!” Newt cried, hugging Y/n tightly. Y/n patted his back timidly. “Oh, I’ve been wanting a hug for years.”
Y/n carefully extracted herself from the hug. “We were just cuddling in the car?”
Bob, in Newt’s body, quickly backtracked. “Oh, you’re right.”
“Should we stay here for the night?” Teresa asked.
“Are you kidding me?” Minho scoffed. “We are not staying here. We haven’t even met the owner!”
“The door opened for us.” Newt said excitedly, “I’m sure he’s okay with it!”
“What is up with you?” Y/n asked, taking a small step towards Minho. Minho folded his arms.
“Let’s just explore a little bit.” Newt started up the stairs, acting as if he owned the place.
Y/n gripped Minho’s forearm and whispered, “Something’s off with Newt.”
“Yeah, I see it too. It could have to do with this weird house.”
“What? You think there's ghosts in here?” Thomas joked, overhearing their conversation.
Carl said, “Why, yes. There is. In fact, I’m right here. Just, you can’t see me. How dreadful.” Carl rolled his eyes and followed Bob, aka Newt, up the stairs.
The five teens followed Newt as well, starting to peer into the rooms of the second floor. Newt, seeming to know exactly what he was looking for, opened the door to an old bedroom.
“Wow. That’s cool.” Gally commented, taking in the beautifully hand carved bed posts, velvet bedspread, and other wooden furniture.
“I know, right?” Newt said. Teresa glanced at him inquisitively.
“Look at these old books.” Y/n stepped into the room, making Newt smile widely.
“I don’t think those are books,” he said. “I think they’re diaries.”
“You’re right.” Y/n flipped through the dusty, yellowed pages of a diary. “Written by someone named Angie?”
“I don’t think you should be looking at those-” Gally frowned, him and the rest of the group still in the doorway.
“No, it’s perfectly alright.” Newt, too, stepped into the bedroom before quickly slamming the door shut and locking it.
“Newt?” Y/n cried, “What are you doing?!”
“I swear to god Newt,” Minho pounded on the door, “this is not the time to do the deed! Hanky- panky can wait!”
Newt started advancing on Y/n, smiling calmly. Y/n put her hands up and said, “Newt, stop it. This is not the time to joke around.”
“Honey,” Newt purred, “let’s just relax for a second.”
“Honey?” Y/n shook her head. “Newt never calls me that. And he would always respect my wishes to stop! In fact, when we first got together, he always kept asking if what he was doing was okay. I don’t know what’s happening, but I don’t think you’re Newt. I don’t know how, but you’re not Newt.”
“You’re so smart.” Newt caressed her cheek. Y/n had to resist leaning into the familiar touch. She had to remind herself that this wasn’t Newt. “Just like Angie.”
“Angie?” Y/n stepped away and lifted up the diary.
“Oh, yes. You should feel very connected to her.” Newt nodded vigorously, “Because you are her!”
Y/n backed up and started yelling, “Guys! Newt’s creeping me out! I don’t know how, but I don’t think this is my Newt.”
“What do you mean?” Minho shouted.
“Just- get me outta here!” Y/n screamed.
“Hold on!” Thomas cried. Y/n soon heard a dull thump on the door, accompanied by a soft, “ow.”
“Wow, good job Thomas.” Gally's sarcastic reply followed.
“You’re absolutely right.” Newt said, “I’m not Newt. My name is Bob. I used to live here with my wife, Angie. Unfortunately, she died, I soon after. I’ve been looking everywhere for her. Now, I’ve found her! It’s you.” Newt looked ridiculously happy.
Y/n, on the other hand, looked confused. “Are you saying you’re a ghost that’s possessing my boyfriend?”
“Anything can happen on the full moon!” Newt crowed.
“You imbecile!” Y/n punched him in the arm. “Get out of my boyfriend!”
“But you're Angie.” Newt frowned. “You have e/c eyes exactly like her.”
“Lots of people have e/c eyes!” Y/n yelled, frustrated.
“Are you sure Angie’s not possessing you? Or you haven’t been reincarnated?”
“I’m pretty sure I’d know if I was possessed. And even if I was reincarnated, I have a boyfriend. Newt! Why would I want to give him up?” Y/n tried to explain it to Bob, growing more and more desperate.
“I don’t know. I guess I thought you were Angie.” Suddenly, a low howling swoops through the room. “Carl!” Bob exclaimed, “Are you sure?” Another soft cold wind swept through. “Okay.” Bob sighed, “Carl, my friend, said I should exit my host now. I’ll let you and your friends stay here the night, but I would advise you leave in the morning.”
“Yes, please exit Newt. And I think we’ll find someplace else to spend the night. But thank you for the offer, Bob. I hate that you took control of my Newt, but I’m sorry you can’t find Angie.”
“It’s okay. I have Carl.”
Newt then pitched forward, knees hitting the floor, shaking and coughing. Gally yelled out, “Everything okay?” Shuddering wind blew through Y/n and out the door. Miraculously, the door swung open and the group was greeted with the sight of Y/n tightly hugging Newt, who looked disoriented and pale.
“Newtie, are you okay?” Y/n whispered, rubbing his back soothingly.
“Yeah… but what happened?” Newt groaned, holding his head, “I can’t remember anything.”
“It’s hard to explain.” Y/n said, “Let’s just get out of here.”
“Good idea.” Minho agreed. Y/n, helping Newt up, followed everyone out and down the hill and to the car. Teresa called Alby and then a tow- truck, both calls reassuring that they would be there soon. Thomas opened a map and started planning a route. Gally reclined his seat and tried to take a nap. Minho put in his earbuds and started blasting rock music. Y/n held Newt close, the latter laying down on her shoulder and muttering, “What happened?”
“I’ll explain later,” Y/n shushed him, “just get some rest. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” Y/n laid her head on Newt’s hair. She clutched the boy tight, still rattled after the day’s events. Y/n kissed his forehead, just glad that he was okay and in her arms.

Comte's Ghost Mansion (IkeVamp; Luigi's Mansion AU) Part 3

This maze of a mansion was wearing your patience thin. While some doors led to new paths, others sent you right back to the beginning.
You walked past the same painting more times than you wanted to admit. Were there several copies framed around the mansion? Surely no nobleman could be that vain. There had to be a better way to keep track of where you were and where you were not.
You wondered if the butler had a map.
You fiddled with the key in your hand, on a mission to find its door. One by one, you tried every door down the hallway.
“Did this door just…wiggle?” You backed away as it swung open and shut. No room behind it, just a wall.
“First ghosts, now trick doors? Really?!”
You approached each subsequent door with skepticism.
At last, a door at the end of the hall unlocked. Inside, an elongated dining table stood in the center, fully arranged with dishware and cutlery of every size. A chandelier hung above the table curled like a spider lily, holding a candlestick on each leg. Dinner was not served yet. But there were glasses—ten of them—filled with red liquid left at the table. Correction: One of them was filled white.
“What need does a mansion of ghosts have for wine of all things?” You asked aloud.
"Would you like a sip?" A playful voice replied.
You leapt away from the dining table. The chandelier swayed back and forth like a pendulum. The ghost of a man dangled upside down from it. A wide grin split his face in half, just as his jet-black hair split his profile. He exuded a purple impish aura.
The ghost of a trapeze artist?
You switched on your Poltergust 1899, and he folded back up and out of sight. You placed your lamp on the dining table and held your ground. One hand remained on the Poltergust's strength dial while the other aimed the tube at where he spawned from. The force of the vacuum pulled the chandelier in your direction with some resistance, and a faint outline of the man stretched out of it.
It was not enough to capture him though. The chandelier gave up its resistance, and you had a feeling that the ghost escaped. You turned up the vacuum’s strength.
He popped up on the wall to your right. "Welcome home, Toshiko-san!"
And again, to your left. "Are we playing hide and seek?"
And behind you. "Count me in, but only if you're seeking!"
“That is not my name,” you asserted, but your reaction speed fell short of catching him each time.
“Don’t be silly, Yoshie-san, I couldn’t forget a pretty face like yours.”
You figured the more time you sank into this cat-and-mouse game, the less time you spent getting out of here. You opted to ignore him until he posed a threat.
“Aw, leaving already? Why don’t you stay a while longer?”
You turned towards the door, but it was locked. Trapped.
His snickers bounced off the walls of the dining room, and you had the sinking feeling that your 'mouse' had you right where he wanted.
You continued the chase for some time, getting more and more impatient with each second. Your breath came out in quick, short puffs as you grew tired of this little game. Your back ached from the heavy machine you carried; the straps imprinted onto your shoulders.
Speed was not your strong suit here, so you had to be strategic about it, instead.
This slippery specter only emerged from surfaces. He must not be able to float on his own, the way the paranormal performer could. On top of that, he made no effort to attack you directly, either, just poking and prodding like a curious child.
Thus, you turned off the machine and dropped it in one corner, then you turned to the dining table.
Please don’t be too heavy, you prayed.
You pushed one corner, and the table groaned and screeched as it rotated.
Although the slippery specter was out of sight, the goosebumps raised along your skin confirmed that he was not far. He made his presence known when he poked at your feet and tried to grab your ankle. You hopped and skipped out of reach, and even tried to stomp on his hands. He phased between ephemeral and corporeal, seemingly at will. His laughter taunted you all the while.
On top of that, you kept an eye on the table’s contents. You did not want to deal with a potential earful from Sebastian over spilled wine. The drinks wobbled slightly, but they were more viscous than regular wine, and so did not spill so easily.
You shoved the table until it hit a wall. It split the room diagonally, creating a wide, triangular space. Crouching low, the only nearby surface left was the floor.
“Ahaha, looks like you figured out my weakness. Well played, Tsuneko-san.”
You turned on the machine at maximum strength and grabbed the tube of the Poltergust, extending it as far as it would go.
“And for the last time, that is not my name!”
Taking up the challenge, hands emerged from below, and you planted the vacuum into the ground. Following the slippery specter’s path, you struggled to maintain your grip, but determination empowered you to hold on until he was completely captured.
"Finally!" You raised the vacuum’s tube in cheer.
In response, It sputtered out its last breath. Out of power.
Your face fell and you scrambled to pick up your gear and get out before more ghosts arrived. Before you left, you picked up a fountain pen that your ‘mouse’ left behind.
You trudged out of the room exhausted. The door clicked shut, and you let out a breath you did not realize you held in. You basked in the silence as you regained your breath.
“Where to next?” Your ‘mouse’ jutted his head out of the machine.
“Get back in there!”
You regretted unlocking that door in the first place.

Up next on my Reverse Hauntings! AU, we got the big bad himself. Although now not so big or bad.
In this AU, Alistair takes the place of Travis. He's a rather nice boy who likes bugs and also gets picked on: though he normally can throw a few punches and acts out a bit more.
He and his dad moved into the mansion a little less than a year after his mother dies. Kicking off the story.
