did a little scene rewrite fic for the iconic Misa/Kiyomi dinner scene.
(in which two women who hate each other but don't really hate each other, but can't figure out why, or maybe they know exactly why and don't want to admit it, end up having sex on the floor. is maybe... what it boils down to.)

•Very big fan of having you wear his coat, regardless of how ridiculous it may look given the height difference ( if there is one ). Seeing you in it just scratches something in his brain.
•Protective. Very, very protective- one could argue that it's nearly obsessive with how he holds you close, that hook curved around your waist. Never to harm, never- only to hold. To better shield you with his own form.
( Fits the trope of “I would kill for them.” VERY well. )
•Buys you jewelry. No, no- nothing gaudy, gods no. But those delicate golden chains with a precious gemstone dangling from? Rings with woven bands that are inlaid with precious jewels? Just casually, too. He'll come in to your shared suite at the end of the day with a black box tied with a ribbon. Surprise.
•He enjoys hearing you read out loud. When the two of you are alone and he's going over The ledgers for Rain Dinners? Or, later on, for the Cross Guild? Sitting before his desk while you relax on a chaise lounge, reading your book- or even better, something of importance to him. He could fall asleep to the sound.
( and has. )
•Loves, Loves, LOVES when you cook for him. Claims that nothing will ever taste as good as the food that his amore makes. HOWEVER- when it comes to making certain dishes, he will take over. He's very particular about sauces, you see? If you don't use enough salt…
•Has gifted you a Bananawani.
•Who needs a scary dog when you have Sir Crocodile two steps behind you whenever you go somewhere? Anything you want, you get- regardless of the price.
•…can and will fall asleep with his head on your lap if you brush your fingers through his hair. Sometimes, it's nice to be taken care of.
•He Does Not Smoke In Your Rooms. in his office? Sure. Outside? Of course. But when you are in your bedroom? Not a cigar in sight. ( He doesn't want your clothes to smell like cigar smoke. )
•And a hint of spice-
He truly does love the view from below…

i see a lot of crosshair fics with a sassy or cold reader (which are amazing!) but what about the opposite? a frustratingly patient, conflict avoiding, idealistic reader?
you're so nice crosshair feels bad for being mean. but like any emotion he doesn't want to deal with he turns it into anger. you make him acknowledge his shitty attitude and he hates it. how dare you guilt trip him with your kindness? you think you're so much better than him, don't you?
he doesn't talk to you but oberves you a lot. he finds himself jealous of your friends/family. which is infuriating because he only has himself to blame for your lack of a relationship. to get close to you he'll have take on his hardest mission yet: being vulnerable.
edit: for all the kind reblogs asking me to write this

Been reading a lot of 'character gets bitten by venomous creature and hallucinates' fics lately, and I gotta say - delirious hallucinations can be so good??? The confusion and inability to tell if the person helping you is real? Waking up disoriented and needing to be calmed down? A second character telling the injured character in increasing levels of worriedness that they're hallucinating/their symptoms are getting worse, but they barely know if that's even real or not? Fading in and out of consciousness while they recover, still lost in feverish, nonsensical dreams? All they know is that everything hurts, and anything else turns out to be a lie

Okay, so given that Neil said this:

in his interview with the lovely Lucy Eaton, and the fact that some absolute numpty from the fandom decided to ask him about Aziraphale removing Crowley's glasses and saying 'there you are', how do you think Neil is going to weaponize this nugget against us?

Guys, I’ve read the Wild Robot
Tumblr media
And let me tell you, if I hadn’t recently taken a Children’s Literature class in college, I would’ve said this was the best middle-grade book I’ve read since elementary/middle school. I almost read this book in one night (I was sleepy 😴) like I couldn’t put it down.
The heart behind this book is astounding and it never shies away from showing complex and difficult concepts. You will fall in love with Roz and her gosling son along with all of the other animal on the island.
If you’ve got younger ones, I highly recommend reading this to them or having a little book club moment with them. However, be prepared for whatever hard questions may come your way (i.e. circle of life and climate issues). You know your child and how much they can handle/understand. If you’re like me and much older, it’s a quick read and a great way to finish off a long day. It’s a part of a trilogy and you bet I’m patiently waiting for my hold on a copy at the library.
If the movie is anything like the book (which, given a rewatch of the trailer, it’s looking like so), we are in for a special treat.

Actually, the best part of being a "chosen one" is you don't have to send in a resume and write a coverletter. A magical scroll or mysterious stranger or flock of ravens just show up and give it to you.

I gotta say I did not expect I’d love Miles this much, enough to look up shit like Secret War and Civil War II reading order, and worse, subject myself to Bendis’ writing of all things (he’s the reason why I stopped being a comic stan 5 years ago. I were a DC/ Superfam fan. You know the beef was BEEFING). Like, my tolerance of that dude now only stops at him being one of Miles’ creators. So that better writers can do the kid justice years later. That’s it.
Like, why is the “r u and Ganke together haha” a whole shtick that comes up multiple times during his run? It’s so annoying and painful to read. Miles can go around being paired up with different girls but the moment THAT question came up you know he gonna be super defensive and >:( about it which, eh, just does not line up with anything else happening in whatever story is happening at the time. At all.
The only silver of light is that Miles actually never says he doesn’t like boys, he just denies ever dating Ganke. Like, he could just say he doesn’t swing that way and the question would have stopped, but he doesn’t. So I know he be running around kissing the punk-est boy in the whole spider verse, ha!
Idk I’m near the end of Bendis’ run and some of it r good but a lot of them put me thru excruciating pain (cringe) so I have to complain about it.
Did I mention I were a DC stan 6 years ago? I were a DC stan 6 years ago so this isn’t even my first rodeo with white dudes writing weirdest things in American comic, but I just can’t believe I got dragged into this again because Miles blinks his bambi eyes on screen and makes me want to rotate him in my brain so I need to know the lore of him in every medium, apparently.

I demand a scene where Ed has been captured and imprisoned in a tower and Stede climbs the ivy/trellis/whatever to tell him about the plan to free him and they kiss through the bars.
I demand it.

AIGHT HEAR ME OUT WITH THIS ONE
Okay, so group of friends, right? They're like, the main characters of their story and stuff, the main team we follow. One of them is a sizeshifter, and a pretty confident one at that. Their shifty abilities have gotten the group out of a lot of tough situations, and the group appreciates them for it, and tends to rely on them a lot for certain things (even if they can be a little arrogant and braggy about their abilities sometimes).
BUT THEN the tables get turned when the group's main villain figures out a way to neutralize the sizeshifter's abilities. When the group lets their guard down (maybe an argument that ends with the shifter storming off alone), they capture the shifter, forcing them to be stuck at a smaller size and imprisoning them. Now, the rest of the group has to find a way to rescue them, especially after seeing how incompetent they've become from relying on the shifter so much, and now not having them (plus they want to rescue and make up with their friend, obviously).
Eventually, through learning to make better use of their own talents and abilities, they manage to find and free their shifter friend. But now, the shifter still can't sizeshift, cause the effects the villain put on them haven't worn off yet. Which really sucks, cause the group were still kinda banking on them turning big so they could escape. Plot happens, but and eventually they do escape, but the entire time the shifter is just feeling utterly useless, and seeing how much they undervalued their companions before this.
In the end, the bad guy is obviously defeated, and the group learns a lesson about working together and pulling their own weight instead of relying solely on one person to get the job done, and the shifter learns a very important lesson about humility and appreciating their friends (and may also be slightly traumatized now, if the villain was the kind of person to torture prisoners in this story).
