I'm new to hermitcraft, what's game of demise?

back in season six, it was halloween, and grian was bored. he proposed a simple game: put some diamonds in the betting pool, sign up, and once the game starts, don't die. once you do die, you join the "dead" team, and your job is to try to make the "alive" team join you, although you are not allowed to do any direct pvp to do that; you must instead use traps and trickery. whoever is alive last wins the diamonds.

what happened next went down in hermitcraft history. very greyscale hermitcraft history--it's ren, for the record, who was the one who ended up setting up the "dead players have grey skins", which scar then brought back for 3rd life, if that seems familiar for you. there are a LOT of extremely iconic demise moments and it's hard to pick just one, but. demise was an EVENT. and it was great.

anyway so when people are teasing their first s10 episodes being soon and are showing up in greyscale skins i'm going "HEY HOW DID YOU GET DEMISED HELLO" because that's what it was called LAST TIME this happened to hermitcraft. and like. it very well may NOT be demise or related to death at all. but like. once is impulse being silly... twice is a pattern.
