Summary: When Yuta signed for his new apartment, he didn't sign for an unexpected, and unannounced, roommate.

The first night Yuta spent in his new apartment was uneventful, the normal sounds of the building settling and the echo of neighbors talking reverberating off of his still bare walls.

He smiled softly, snuggled up happily on his Futon as he stared at the ceiling, already laying out where his glow in the dark stars were gonna be placed.

After moving out of his friend Shotaro's place, Yuta was happy to finally be back on his feet after struggling for a while.

Yuta let his eyes slowly closed, missing how someone watched him from above, wondering why such a fleshy person was sleeping in his room that had been empty for years.

Time pasted quickly and Yuta had fully set up his apartment, everything having just the perfect touch of him.

It had been a longer day for him, having had to work a double shift at his job because someone had called out last minute and Yuta was the only one even remotely qualified to take over for them.

Instead of being welcomed home by dark lights and quiet, a soft, masculine voice filled Yuta's ears.

Immediately put off by the sound, Yuta readied himself to face an intruder, grabbing an umbrella from the stand just beside his door.

Without taking off his shoes, Yuta stepped slowly into the house, avoiding making any noise as he followed the voice back to his bedroom, his heart beating rapidly out of his chest as he placed his hand on the doorknob, gripping the umbrella tighter in his fist.

Yuta quickly swung the door open, only to see nothing and no one.

Even more put off, he wandered around, checking every crack and crevice that someone could have fit in during the split second he hesitated to open the door.

Nothing.

Yuta let his shouldes relax as he sighed.

What had he heard? Who was in here before he barged in? They couldn't have just vanished, could they?

Yuta shook his head, deciding that it was probably just his tired mind playing tricks on him as he went back to the front door, taking his shoes off and placing the umbrella back in the stand.

He made his way back into the room and sat on the edge of his bed, sighing quietly before getting changed and getting under the covers, the voice from before never leaving his mind as he drifted slowly to sleep.

3:06 a.m.

That's what Yuta's clock told him as he woke up, suddenly feeling thirsty.

He slowly got out of bed, placing his feet on the cold floor, tapping his toes around for a second, trying to find his slippers before standing, waddling towards the door.

Yuta let out a large yawn, covering his mouth with the back of his hand as he peered into the kitchen, seeing a short, masculine built frame standing near the sink, their head down.

He immediately stepped over, slamming the light switch.

They were gone.

Yuta took in a deep, shaky breath, now more awake than ever.

He got his glass of water and made the trek back to his room, but he didn't dare close his eyes for a second.

Months had passed and Yuta was losing sleep rapidly.

He hadn't seen the boy from before for a while, and it was making him more anxious than he would like to admit.

"You don't understand Sho, I know what I saw!" He groaned at the younger, placing his hand in his hair and resting his elbow on his knee, his phone pressed against his ear as he stared at the floor of his apartment.

He would have to mop soon.

"I don't know what to tell you Yuta-san." Shotaro's sweet giggle filled Yuta's ears before he spoke again. "Maybe its a ghost!" Yuta groaned loudly, running his hand through his hair before letting it lazily slap down on his thigh. "Oh please don't joke about that.."

Shotaro let out another giggle before a voice called him away. "Anyways, I've got to go now Yuta-san, good luck with your little friend, I'll still see you tomorrow at the Café right?" Yuta nodded, knowing the younger couldn't see him. "You bet kid, see you tomorrow."

And with that, the call ended.

Yuta raised his head up, looking around his living room, pondering if he wanted to go and find a hotel to sleep in for the night so he wouldn't be late to his meet up with his friend, when that same masculine voice reached his ears, this time, they were singing.

He immediately whipped his phone out, going to the camera and hitting the button, making sure it was recording before following the voice, seeing it was once again coming from his room.

Yuta pressed the phone to the door slightly, careful not to make any noise as he also pressed his ear against the wood.

"Every time I see a spark

There's someone putting out the fire

But I will not let my grandparents

Bury their grandchild

It's a struggle back and forth and I'm learning

But it's happening by force

It's 4 a.m. and I'm fucking tired..."

The voice was strong, and most definitely male.

A sigh sounded after that verse, and Yuta immediately grabbed the handle, swinging the door open and seeing that same shorter masculine frame that he saw at the kitchen standing at his window.

Only this time, he could make out the features of the boy.

Yuta watched the boys pale blue eyes widen before disappearing, just like that night in the kitchen.

He jolted forward. "Wait!"

The word died in his throat as he looked down to see the video was still recording.

Yuta let out a sigh, rubbing the side of his head as he stopped the video, watching it over again.

After that night, Yuta hoped to see the boy again, to ask him some questions.

Why was he here? Was he a ghost? Why was he haunting this place? Why was he still here anyways? Is there a heaven? A hell?

So many questions whirled in his mind, which lead him to what he was doing tonight.

Yuta glanced at the time.

3 a.m. exactly.

He looked down at the paper board in front of him and took a deep breath, flexing his finger slightly on the ten yen coin.

Licking his lips, Yuta slowly opened his mouth and started speaking, loud and clearly.

"Kokkuri-san, Kokkuri-san, if you're here, please come and move this coin."

His heart seized in his chest as he waited in anticipation, glancing over at the open window more than once as he waited for any sign of movement.

"You know.." A soft voice spoke, sounding everywhere and nowhere all at once. "You don't have to use that board to talk to me."

Yuta jumped as the window slammed shut, the figure of the boy he had been seeing slowly materializing before it, his hands still holding the sill.

"Now you've wasted a perfectly good coin, and lifted the veil between my world, and yours." The boys pale blue eyes turned to the red haired boy, watching his eyes widen more, if that was even possible.

Yuta swallowed thickly.

"Hasn't the veil already...been lifted?" He questioned, taking his hand slowly off the coin after placing it back in the Torii. "I can see you, so.."

The boy softly smiled, turning to face Yuta as he leaned ever so slightly against the window sill. "No, because I live here.." He stopped to think a moment. "Well, I guess to you it would be haunting, but same thing." He shrugged.

Yuta shook his head, gathering his thoughts.

"What's...What's your name? If you don't mind me asking?"

The boy smiled softly again. "(M/n). (F/m/n)." He leaned forward every so slightly. "It's nice to meet you, Yuta."

The two boys spent the rest of the night talking, Yuta asking (m/n) every single question on his mind.

"Okay so, last two questions...if you don't mind me asking..how did you die?" Yuta asked softly, his head resting on his pillow as (m/n)'s body was hovering just above his bed.

Yuta watched as (m/n)'s content smile fell, and immediately waved his hands in front of his face. "You don't have to answer! I was just curious!"

He watched as (m/n)'s smile slowly came back, the ghostly boy sitting up and crossing his legs as he looked down at him.

"I committed suicide." (M/n) looked towards the ceiling and hummed gently. "I was getting bullied, my parents had been dead for years, and my grandparents were slowly losing their own battles, so, I did what I thought was best and took myself out of their lives so that they wouldn't have to worry about another mouth to feed." Yuta watched as (m/n)'s eyes turned sad.

"I can see now, that wasn't the right choice to make..." He whispered softly.

Yuta sat up too, trying to take (m/n)'s hand and ignoring how he had to sit with his arm suspended. "Yknow what, add another question...what business have you not completed thats keeping you here? And before I forget, is that your actual eye color? From like, before you passed?"

(M/n) chuckled, lightly shifting his hand so it looked like their fingers were intertwined. "Well, for the second question, no, my eyes used to be brown, but after you become a ghost...for some reason you lose the color in your eyes, but not your hair."

Yuta nodded, staring at their hands in thought.

"And for the first, I don't know what my business is. Thats why I'm still here." (M/n) explained gently, tilitng his head to the side.

Yuta smiled widely.

"Well! Then I guess you're stuck as my roommate then until you find out!" He showed his teeth with his smile, and it made (m/n) smile in return.

"Okay, roomie." He giggled, smiling contently down at Yuta before fading away to rest.

Summary: There are two students in your art class with a secret: you and the quiet Jeon Jungkook. You’re a problematic idol singer, infamous for your ice cold reputation and perpetual resting bitch face; he’s the artist and author behind the viral comic series based on a certain ice queen idol. After a blowup of destructive rumors, lost motivation and inevitable solitude, you stumble upon Jungkook’s comic and find a new and unexpected light.

A/N: i’ve had mixed feelings about the tumblr fic community as of late :/ but heres something to read🥺

Holding the boy’s pinky in your own, you stare once more at his drawing of you with your guitar and flower crown—a superhero to those whom you shared your music with.

No. Your music hasn’t saved anyone. You’ve never been a hero to anyone. If anything, you’re the one who needs to be saved. You’d always thought you could grow strong enough to save yourself if you just closed yourself off from the world and did everything on your own. But in the end, that only seemed to hurt you more.

You should’ve known. It’s okay to ask for help, to reach out, to let him in.

“A few years ago, I had a thought. It wasn’t a very smart thought, but I decided I wanted to share part of myself with the world. I thought about the different ways I could go about that, but the way that made the most sense for me was music,” you say, finally letting go of Jungkook’s pinky and making yourself awfully comfortable on a bed that doesn’t belong to you. “So I auditioned for Polar Entertainment. Not to be an idol, but to be a songwriter.”

Jungkook doesn’t say anything, but he nods as if it’s not a shock to him, as if he saw it as “a Y/N thing to do.” At the same time, his gentle eyes wait for you to continue, curious to know what’ll happen next.

“Do you remember the song you heard me singing the other day in the music room?”

Jungkook cracks a smirk and starts singing your song word for word in a surprisingly in-tune whisper. Oh, he remembers it alright, and he’ll apparently never let you live it down. He doesn’t stop until you throw one of the balled-up blankets at his face.

“That was the first time I picked up my guitar and sang that song since being rejected at the audition.”

“I can imagine how scarring that would be. Rejection,” he shudders at the word, though you’re sure he knows little about the feeling with art skills as professional as his. “They really didn’t like you though?”

“They liked certain parts of me.” Your vocals, your beauty, your body. “But not the ones that mattered.” Your music, your creativity, your personality. You.

“That’s their loss,” Jungkook says in the midst of a yawn, practically inaudible. But you heard him.

“Maybe they had a point,” you say, looking up at the ceiling. “Because when I look back to that time, it was quite foolish of me to believe my music would reach anyone when it came from a place of desperation, not my heart. The song was a plea for help, not one that would save others.”

“What made you suddenly sing it again after all this time?”

You grab hold of the boy’s hand and form yet another pinky promise. “Promise you won’t laugh at me for my reason.”

“I can’t promise you that,” he says with the straightest face. He’s ready to burst out laughing again and you know it.

“Then I won’t tell you.” With a hmph, you bury yourself under the fluffiest blanket. You wonder how he would’ve reacted if you told him it was that dang jk.seagull and his fanfic that gave you the courage to sing again, to go back to your roots, to follow your love of creating music. It’d obviously sound ridiculous to admit it out loud, but the joy you feel from reading Witch Hazel is what reminds you of the very thing you want to provide others with—happiness.

And that’s perhaps all the encouragement you needed to start sharing your music again.

“I won’t tell you what it was exactly that made me do it, but I’ll tell you why,” you peek your head back out of the blankets to see the boy still waiting patiently for an answer. “I wanted to move on… from the failure I faced that day. That way, I can finally become that superhero you speak of.”

You place the drawing of your superhero self onto the nightstand so that it doesn’t get crinkled up on the bed. No, she’s not a superhero yet. But she will be someday.

“I’ll look forward to it.”

“You better not tell anyone,” you remind him. “This isn’t something I share with other people. Ever.”

“I won’t tell anyone,” he assures you, with not only his words but also his warmth.

“Good.” You smile whilst closing your eyes. You meant to tell him that he could confide in you too, but the warmth pulls you into a deep slumber before you could do so.

It’s been a minute since you’ve awoken in someone else’s bed, though this is the first time you aren’t all wrapped up in their embrace. Rather, half the boy’s body is hanging off the side of the bed for dear life while you’re right smack in the middle, all bundled up in one of the blankets.

If you wanted to, you could push him over the edge with the tiniest tap of your foot—that’s how close he is to falling. But as tempting as it would be to get even with the boy who teases you to no end, you opt to quietly check your phone without disturbing him.

To your surprise, you have two new notifications: a text from Seokjin earlier this morning and a late-night update from jk.seagull posted sometime after you had passed out. You’ve always been the type to take care of work obligations before indulging in guilty pleasures, so you open Seokjin’s text first.

6:04AM jinnie “so jimin’s manager reached out to me”

6:05AM jinnie “and you want to collab with jimin?”

7:12AM Y/N “oh yeah i asked him to have his manager contact you”

7:13AM Y/N “but i guess i forgot to tell you LOL”

It’s not that you forgot. You were just hesitant to tell your manager about it yourself. Because if possible, you’d like to minimize your own company’s involvement in this top-secret scheme of yours.

7:15AM jinnie “are you up to something?”

7:15AM Y/N “mayhaps”

7:16AM Y/N “but dont tell boss lady pls”

7:17AM jinnie “shes going to find out one way or another”

7:19AM Y/N “thats true 🤔 ”

7:20AM Y/N “well tbh knowing her, she’d probably approve of the collab anyway since it should clear up those dating rumors while (hopefully) appealing to jimin’s fanbase”

7:21AM Y/N “just dont tell her the logistics of the collab”

7:21AM jinnie “what are you scheming lmao”

7:22AM Y/N “youll see”

7:22AM jinnie “ 😒 dont get me or yourself in trouble Y/N”

7:23AM Y/N “i wont! i promise! 🥺 ”

7:25AM jinnie “ill arrange a meeting with jimin and his manager to discuss everything formally”

As you move on to the more exciting notification on your phone, you see that the sleeping Jungkook has slipped several inches closer to falling flat on his face. Maybe you’ll save him from his impending doom. Maybe you won’t. But that’ll have to wait until after you see what jk.seagull had to say on his blog.

“do you ever think back to that one time in math camp when a little girl screamed in your face that she hated math and wanted to become a musician instead? apparently she somehow confused ‘musician’ with ‘mathematician’ LMAO”

You aren’t sure what provoked the silly seagull guy to share such a random thought, but you do get a good laugh out of it. After all, you can totally relate as someone who went to math camp one summer despite knowing in your heart what you truly wanted to do-

Wait.

“Jungkook,” you say in a half-hushed, half-urgent tone, though calling his name wouldn’t be what actually wakes him from his slumber. “I think I know who the seagull guy is.”

Thud. You swear on your life you didn’t lay a finger on the boy when he fell, despite all the devilish thoughts you had about it earlier. He fell on his own. You’re innocent. Therefore, you have a right to laugh.

“Are you okay?” you snicker, peering down from the bed at the dazed boy. He might have been the biggest klutz for rolling off the bed and stumbling around to find his glasses, but holy shit. His wild bedhead and scattered blankets across the floor make it seem as though the two of you had a lot more than just an innocent heart-to-heart in his bed last night.

“I’m fine,” he stretches his arms and combs the bedhead out. Yes, he is fine. “But, uhh, what’s this about that seagull guy?”

“I think I know him.” You expect Jungkook to be as excited as you are, but he just seems kind of puzzled—perhaps from his lack of sleep.

“…and how did you come to that conclusion…?” he asks. Or maybe he doesn’t believe you.

“You didn’t see the post! Look at the post.” You join the boy down on the floor and make yourself at home there with your phone and some of the fallen blankets. He leans over your shoulder to read the infamous post you won’t shut up about.

“Math camp?” Jungkook continues to squint at the cryptic message before chuckling. “Also, did that girl seriously confuse musician with mathematician?”

“Stop laughing! That dumbass was me.” Now you wish you had kicked his ass off the bed.

He stops laughing, not because you told him to but because he’s mildly shook. “What?”

You take a deep breath in because you know you’re setting yourself up to be clowned for the rest of your fucking life. “When I was like ten, I told my parents that I wanted to be a mathematician, thinking that word meant musician. So they signed me up for camp that summer.”

“Did you ever stop to think that mathematician has the word math in it and not mu-”

You interrupt the boy’s unwelcomed commentary with an air-punch to his guts before continuing on as if nothing happened. “I was so excited until I got there. It was absolutely mortifying to learn that it was a math camp, not a music camp.”

“I like this story,” he nods with his arms guarding himself in anticipation of another air-jab as you square up.

“Still, I tried to make the best out of the situation since I was actually kind of good at math,” you say. “The camp director even told me I’d make a great math professor one day.”

“I can’t imagine you as a math professor.” He settles down with all the chuckling.

“I couldn’t either, so I ran off to an empty room where I thought I could escape without anyone finding me,” you soften your tone. “But somehow a crying, wandering boy found me.”

“Was it the seagull?”

“Maybe. All I remember was hearing music playing from somewhere outside. I sang along as a way to comfort and distract myself from the whole math situation, but it seemed to cheer up the boy as well.”

“Your voice does have that effect, you know.”

“He told me the same thing.” You can’t help but smile a little at the compliment. “But in that moment, it felt like my dream had a purpose beyond fueling my own desires. And I needed to share it with someone. Anyone.”

“So you shared it with the boy?”

You nod. “I told him my dream was to be a mathematician, but he knew what I meant.”

“Did he at least clown you first?”

“He did. He laughed right in my face, and at first I thought he was a jerk for making fun of my dream. But after he kindly taught me the difference between musician and mathematician, I announced my actual dream to him and him alone.”

“And how’d he respond?”

“He said it was cool beans.”

“He said cool beans?”

“Those were his exact words, yes.”

“And that was it?”

“That’s all I can remember.”

“So you don’t even remember his name or anything?”

“We never introduced ourselves,” you shake your head. “I don’t remember his face either because it was covered by a hood and long hair.”

“That’s too bad,” Jungkook sighs. “I bet it really was that seagull guy after all.”

“I have a feeling it was him, too.”

It would be nice and awfully romantic if you had somehow crossed paths long ago with the very seagull who continues to inspire your craft with his own. But even if that isn’t the case, you’re content with having that memory and entrusting it with another boy who has done nothing but lift you up.

You lean yourself gently against the Jungkook’s shoulder as you slip your phone back into your pocket, debating on your next course of action. The two of you should be getting ready for class, but that doesn’t sound very appealing. There are other things you’d much rather be doing, like maybe thanking the boy for lending his ear. But for some reason, it’s still difficult for you to say those two simple words of gratitude.

Perhaps it’s difficult because there’s a lot more you’d say than just “thanks man.”

“Can we just cut class and get coffee instead?” Yes, you’ll thank him for his service by treating him to coffee. Unless…? What if this is just your subtle way of asking the boy out on a date? What if he says no because you’ve already spent way too much time with him in the past 24 hours? What if he hates coffee? What if he-

“We should probably go to class to turn in our project, yeah?” Jungkook brings up a good point. But the thing is, you don’t really have your priorities straight at the moment and your mind has only two things consuming it: coffee and boy. “But we can get coffee after class.”

“Ooh, good, because there’s this one coffee shop I want you to try!” You chirp up despite your nonexistent dose of morning caffeine. “It’ll be my treat as thanks for… letting me hog your bed.”

“Oh right... that,” Jungkook hops to his feet and starts tidying up said bed. You help by picking up and folding all of the blankets. “I nearly froze and fell to my death because of that, you know.”

“I saw,” you bite your lip, trying to mask any naughty thoughts that come to mind. Because next time, if there is in fact a next time, you won’t let the boy freeze.

By the time art class ends, the weight of the dreaded group project has been lifted and your craving for coffee begins to settle in once more. And apparently, the hunger and excitement is radiating off you because someone has the audacity to make a comment about it.

“Why does your face look like that?” Taehyung teases, but you’re mildly offended.

“Because I’m getting coffee from my favorite café. That’s why,” you hiss but there’s still a hidden glow about you and your excitement. “Coffee is to me as girls are to you, Taehyung.”

“Ooh, speaking of girls, do any cute girls work there?” He strokes his wise man beard. “Maybe I’ll tag along.”

“I don’t fucking know.” And even if you did know, you wouldn’t say yes.

“How boring,” he yawns while nudging the boy next to him. “Hey Jungkook, wanna go on a double date with me? I met a pair of gamer girls, but I don’t know all the nerdy gaming stuff that you know. And think about it, this could be the first time you get laid since-”

“Actually, Jungkook’s getting coffee with me,” you interrupt. And if you had been brave enough to look up at the boy as you spoke, you would have seen the healthy pink radiance on his cheeks.

“Oh, so the two of you are dating all of a sudden?” Taehyung nods, as if he had hit the mark.

Neither you or Jungkook give an immediate answer, probably due to the unspoken yet very apparent shift in dynamics between the two of you as of late. Yes, you’ve developed certain feelings for the boy, but no, you aren’t technically “dating.” You just hope he’s on the same page as you.

“It’s just coffee,” you want to say, but it comes out of Jungkook’s mouth instead. And even though you would’ve said the same exact thing, it hits a little different hearing it from him.

At the same time, coffee is coffee and Jungkook is Jungkook. You need to remind yourself that your craving for coffee with the boy will be satisfied, regardless of whether it’s a date or not. After all, “dating” is not an option for an idol who should only be focusing on her music and fans.

“Which drink would you recommend?” Jungkook asks as you lead him in the direction of the café.

“If you like coffee, all of the drinks are good in my humble opinion,” you say, though you realize you should probably give the boy a few specific suggestions to make his decision a little easier. “You can get a standard mocha or latte if you want something simple. Or, their signature hazelnut coffee is really really good. Or if you want something iced, you should try the cold brew because it’s literally the most refreshing dose of caffeine ever. Oh! But if you’re into something more plant-based, I suggest the maple oat-”

“You’re not narrowing down my options if you recommend the entire menu, Y/N,” the boy chuckles at your coffee enthusiast behavior.

“Well, here’s my thought process: if we go at least once a week after class, you can eventually try every drink on the menu by the end of the school year. Not including all the different types of milk options though.”

“I don’t know if I should be impressed or terrified that you even bothered to do that calculation.” His eyes are bigger and brighter than the sun. “But that must mean you really like coffee then, huh?”

“Of course! Is that even a question?” The snobby coffee enthusiast jumped out real quick. But even beyond the coffee, you did the calculation to see how long your little coffee not-dates with the boy could last before you have to return to your idol obligations. “You like coffee too, right?”

“Not really,” he sighs. Your jaw drops. Who the does he think he is? “Are there any tea options? Or like a banana milk or something?”

“You can’t just walk into a coffee shop and not order coffee.” Is this guy for real? No, he’s just fucking with you. Probably. “I better start reevaluating who I hang out with,” you say with a sarcastic hmph.

“I’m kidding, kind of.” He doesn’t do a very good job of reassuring you of that. “I like… coffee.”

“That hesitant pause doesn’t sit well with me, Jeon.” You raise an eyebrow at the suspicious boy. It feels nice to tease him for once. “Why are you grabbing coffee with me if you don’t love it?”

“I just curious about this coffee place,” he nudges you, “since someone seems to really enjoy it.”

So it’s because of you…

“Good to know I’ve successfully peer pressured you into consuming caffeine,” you hum, playing it off as if his words weren’t absorbed right into your heart. It was never about coffee.

It’s about you and him.

The thought of that makes your heart scream a little, so you hide your flustered face behind your phone as the two of you approach the coffee shop. You have an unread text from your manager.

2:35PM jinnie “good news”

2:36PM jinnie “i set up a meeting with jimin and his manager in an hour”

You stop in your tracks. That’s not good news. Well actually, it is good for your top secret collab. But the timing of it all is anything but good.

“Are you searching up the menu online? Oh wait, you already have the entire menu memorized from A to Z.” He thinks he’s funny. Now is not the time, Jeon. His teasing smile doesn’t disappear until the distress is written all over your face.

How do you cancel a not-a-date date without a proper explanation? How can you do that to a boy who has only ever done you right? The thing is, you don’t have to hurt him.

You can cancel the meeting, you can bail out on the collab, you can disappear from the idol world altogether if you choose to do so. And if you didn’t want to go that far, you could instead tell the boy of your deepest and darkest secret, of your idol identity, and he would surely understand your reasons for having to leave so suddenly for work.

You could do any of those things, but you decide not to. You won’t allow yourself to make such a rash decision, even if it’s the right one. So you decide to keep the meeting, you decide to keep your idol self hidden in the shadows, and you decide to abandon the boy.

Someone I really admire on YT has had allocations to being a groomer and being gross. They stated they weren’t but are no longer going to do any of their YT stuff. I dont know how to feel. It’s a real punch in the gut. I remember being 12 and watching them whenever I felt deeply depressed. Knowing that I possibly won’t see them in videos again sucks and I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch their old ones.

Thank you for reaching out to Asking Jude. The general public will never be fully aware about their idol’s personality. We only know them professionally and through how they choose to present themselves. Therefore, when shocking news comes out, it can be a little unexpected and concerning. I understand how you might feel, especially since it was someone you have admired since your childhood. For fans at home, the allegations can touch a nerve. And when we find out an idol or favorite actor does something bad, it can feel like a personal affront.

In order to understand and cope with these feelings, it is important to understand how we form opinions of others in the first place. First impressions play a very big role here. You do not have to meet a person to form an impression on them, just watching them on tv or a video and liking their personality is good enough. When we feel like we really get to know someone, even if it is just on TV, we are more likely to empathize with that person. So, when someone we admire does find themselves facing serious allegations, we may find ourselves being embarrassed for liking that person in the first place, or for having supported them in the past.

In some cases, this can lead to defensiveness or even excusing certain behavior. Instead of seeing what the person did as wrong, we instead twist it and make it seem not as bad so that we feel better for supporting that person in the first place. It is up to us to confront those feelings, admit when we are wrong, and face whatever happened directly. Coming up with a way to process what you are feeling can be difficult, but a good place to start is talking to a good friend about it. Finally, make sure you are not taking this too personally and viewing the situation from a personal perspective. You and the Youtuber are not the same people. Do not blame yourself for anything. Try talking to close friends about how you feel as this can help get your feelings out and feel better mentally.

Episode 3: “I guess he just wants to be homophobic or whatever” - Isaac

Motivated by a two round losing streak, the newbies battled against the returnees in the ‘bean dilemma’ challenge. After a tense 50:50 choice, the Obor tribe finally won immunity, sending the returnees (joined by Lorelei & Kenny) to tribal council - but Stoner went to tribal with an idol clue in hand.

As Cahaya scrambled, it became clear the vote was to be between two names; Julian & Isaac. While Stoner & Owen attempted to save Julian, his relative challenge/social inactivity and Isaac’s ability to get in with key returnees like Olivia, ensured Isaac’s own safety.

Before tribal council, Julian called out the tribe for voting him out, which alongside Lorelei’s messages in the tribe chat, sent the returnees into a tailspin. At tribal, Julian was sent out unanimously, with Julian calling out Stoner on his way out of the door.

These newbies.. TRYING TO SET ME UP? I- I'm shook. I don't know if I should tip my hat off to them or punch them all in the neck? JKJK.. But honestly, if I was a newbie I would blame the two random vets who just strolled in for the day to try and cause some conflict with a potential swap near. I'm probably once again overreacting but this just seems so suspicious to me... We lost :( which makes me sad. I didn't want to participate in this challenge but there seemed to be some urgency to get it over with and I didn't want to be "That bitch". I'm trying NOT to get involved in too many things and I'm failing MISERABLY. I hate this. Did I want to be an infiltrator? Kind of. I just honestly want to pull my weight on the tribe and make sure no one wants to murder me. I think I have enough ammo to murder Julian here sadly. So if it is me this vote I'll be the most blindsided I've ever been in my life. Michael and I are sharing idol clues which is pretty cool. I'm convinced there are NO IDOLS on this god damn map though or someone got lucky and already has it. I was contemplating going for the idol in this challenge but honestly... the risk wasn't worth the reward in the end which blows. Sorry if I sound like a god damn ROBOT this confessional. TOODLES

Had a super great talk with stoner tonight. What a cool guy

I feel like Isaac is on the bottom and I fucking love him I literally don’t think I could vote him out (not that he’s on the chopping block) and he’s not in my alliance :( Also Owen and I agreed to keep our close bond a secret, secret o alliance hehe. But we called and talked tonight I love him too

I guess it’s a good problem to have that everyone on your tribe is fucking awesome but man it makes me nervous for the future. Damn can a tie or something. Isaac-Owen-Olivia-stoner-foxx-Jess-Matt you ALL WIN SURVIVOR!!!!

So the challenge ended up being a disaster and we’re going to tribal. Although *technically* I didn’t compete so I’m going to say I have a perfect challenge voting record. That’s how that works, right? I’m just being petulant? Ok. Not much resembling an actual plan has come up yet. We formed an alliance with myself, Jess, Olivia, & Stoner and everyone has come to me about what the plan is so that’s just fine by me since it means I’ve given a good impression to my fellow tribemates. The consensus seems to be Julian since he seems to have contributed the least to the tribe thus far, sitting out of 2 challenges, being inactive, and having a not-great attitude when he visited the other tribe. Stoner is pushing for Isaac but I have a better working relationship with him AND he’s from my homestate so we have that. In the end though I’m fairly indifferent as to how things go. At least in the early stages where I haven’t been given eTrauma by have the cast it’s not fun to vote people out when everyone’s been nice to you but I better get used to it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Someone talked. I made a couple of throwaway comments about Julian’s comment at the first Obor tribal and apparently he came and told Jess he was sorry about them. The only people who I talked about it with was Jess & Stoner. Both Isaac and Julian know they’re being targeted so somebody has done some talking. It’s been one week and I'm already hyperventilating.

So tribal last night didn't go exactly as I thought. Close but one little thing stuck out. I got a vote. I'm not too worried about it but it's a little strange. I think someone wants me to think it's the returnees but idk why. My theory is that it's chris. I think he's realized im his biggest threat and he wants me to get paranoid or rattled or wants me to lose my temper. We then went to immunity challenge and killed it for our first win. Later that night anabel told me something very important. That she has the immunity idol. I'm about 95% sure she's telling the truth because I can't possibly think about why you'd lie about that because it would make a huge target on your back. She also told me she would be willing to use it on me if she had to. I told her she shouldnt do that because i don't want to ruin her game, but of course i'd want that. We will see. Going to be interesting who goes home on the other side. IF jess was being super honest with me the other night (which i think she was) I hope it's not her and that swap happens and that the Indonesia gods will bless me and put me on a tribe with her and Anabel.

ok so after last tribal, we pretty much head right into the next immunity challenge. it only required four of our nine members, chris, owen and i stepped up and said we would do it. however the battle for fourth was a DOOZY!!! Michael was online but said he had a limited amount of time because he goes into work soon. Issac, Julian and Olivia weren’t online, Foxx didn’t seem interested in it, so that left Jess. However Jess decided she wanted to put on a whole production of “I can do it if y’all want but i don’t want to”. For god knows how long, she went back and fourth between some variation of “i don’t mind doing it” and “michael you can do it idk if i wanna do it”. like jess. we get it. you don’t wanna do it so literally just say so. like foxx has no problem doing that so why can’t you?? But after this whole charade Jess ends up participating. The four doing the challenge were myself, Chris, Owen, and Jess. Owen and myself seemed to be the ones who spoke the most and were tying to plan our moves while Jess and chris were just like “ok what am i doing”. We lost 3-2 and it sent us to our first tribal council. While on call for the challenge, Chris( i think) brought up what if we lose, what’s the plan. and mentioned how he wouldn’t go after any of us doing the challenge, we all agreed naturally. And then it was brought up either Issac or Julian as potential votes. Which is exactly what i would wanna do. Both of them seem to be the least active and haven’t really done much for us. i think issac is probably going to be the target this week simply because he has been the least active, rarely pops into tribe chat, and even chris said he hasn’t spoken to him. (same goes for me). So i do think Issac being the boot makes sense here especially with a swap on the horizon. However i’m not going to make too big of a push for him to go because again, unnecessary target early on. i want to make it deep into this game. So my strategy is to make it seem like others have influence over me, agree with them, and subtly push my agenda towards them in a way that they can do what i want . i think being three rounds into this game, i do have somewhat of a solid footing in my tribe and could definitely have some pull later on, it’s just a matter of getting to the end game.

ISAAC

This round has been genuinely so fucking stressful. It’s our first tribal and Julian says my name because I guess he just wants to be homophobic or whatever. As of right now I’ve been told by multiple different people that it hasn’t been able to pick up much traction (eat your heart out Stoner) and I thank god for that but I’m also dead inside. Like I didn’t wanna see Julian go but he also couldn’t keep his mouth shut which is ironic because the very reason he’s going home is because he doesn’t talk. In terms of sociability I’m really close to Olivia, Owen, and Jess. If we ever make an alliance I’d dub us the losers club but it hasn’t happened yet. Foxx is cool but I’m very weary of him. Chris Stoner is hard to hold a conversation with but I think that’s just because heavy faker than a 3 dollar bill. Michael is an adult and I’m a different time zone so it’s hard to talk to him physically. Matt just started to talk to me today which left me shook like it’s Day 8(?) This game has started out so rocky for me but I genuinely think I’ve found a friend in Olivia

ngl i dont remember what i said last kjfhasdkjfhkjds ??? i volunteered for challenge bc i wanted to slay the strategy but then i didnt listen to my gut in the last round and cost us the win :((( i shoulda know round 4 theyd do 0 so they could go all out round 5!!! but tbh im not sad at all about losing.... the more newbies i can reserve to work with at a swap, the better. plus i got to talk to lorelei again <3 and meet kenny!!!! i tried talking to ppl + fortifying relationships. i called olivia and that went rlly well, i love her and honestly she could be my f2 in this game. the double o alliance? its real !!! i brought up the idea of the foxx/jess/chris/me/her alliacne and said foxx wanted michael and she told me she liked/talked to matt more than michael and i was like OMG GIRL ME TOO !!! and then I had an idea to make a chat with me/her/matt which i rlly love it seems like julian is goin which i dont mind, would rather michael/foxx go but im not tryna make waves and i want to buld trust this tribal. the only prob is chris told julian and now julian is freaking out. i really fucking wish jess/foxx/chris/olivia didnt have a four person alliance. like why wouldnt jess try to include me on that!!!??? vgrrrrr so idk about her but i like chris olivia and matt rn we definitely swapping tonight so imma gear up1

ali asked me some questions and now i will answer them. first he asked how my time as infiltrator went and if it impacted my game... it definitely benefit me i believe. I made connections with chris o/lorelei/leigh/anabel, and I believe those will help me a SHIT TON if we swap tonight. jess let me know anabel likes me, lorelei has been talkin to me as an infiltrator, and im so excited to meet up with chris again if i can. i definitely used it to my advantage and i think it could save me in this game later on another question was what my plan is to avoid being sent out as a threat since i am a former winner/"big-brainer" ali said lmao im dumb af. i think part of that is gonna come from who i choose to play with. part of the appeal of the newbies is some of them might not know/care that I have won before. and chris stoner is a winner too so working with him kind of brings that down a bit. when I get voted out of this game, it will 100% be because im viewed as a threat i think. whether its like bc i won comps or bc people like isaac who have been around a while paint me as one idk but im going to have to work rlly hard to build trust with people and make them want to keep me here. other than that its just like...mapping out a path to the end and keeping big threats in the game. uhhh the last question was about who i'd like to see leave if we went to tribal again. definitely foxx, he's working with all the people i want to be working with and for some reason they put him in their alliance and not me :)) soooo love that for me xo bye bye furry

Julian was very quickly the target thrown out for this round. i had no qualms with that. Julian was one of the two options on the chopping block. Everyone seemed to agree on him pretty quickly. also during class, owen approached me about an alliance with him and olivia which i absolutely ADORE!!! Those are two people i 100% wanted to work with and i’m glad an alliance was made
