wip wednesday
here, have a snip from a project i'm not talking too much about yet!
Steve has been comfortably bisexual for… a while now. Since a little before becoming friends with Robin, and even though that feels like forever in a good way, realistically, it’s only been five years. Up until now, he thought he was avoiding the queer stereotype of having a gender crisis after figuring out his sexuality but. Maybe not.
He knows, from a lot of talks with Robin, some late-night, some afternoon discussions, that expression doesn’t equal identity. That shaved legs and wearing a skirt don’t make him a girl automatically.
But. Does he want them to?
He thinks, as he stares at himself in the mirror, finally putting his arms down, about putting on makeup. About shaving his legs and being called “miss.” He sways from side to side, a bit captivated by how the skirt swishes around his legs, and he thinks that he doesn’t hate the idea.
That he actually kind of likes it.
Maybe more than kind of.

⚠️Please don’t touch the sexy deer, it’s not flirting with you. ⚠️
I’ve got a thing for Vox being a fuckboi who keeps thinking their tension is gonna lead to hate sex. 😂

Body swap movie where one of them has invisible disabilities and when the other one lands in their body they immediately collapse catatonic on the floor from the pain and fatigue and the first one is like 'oh damn guess I don't have to worry that I'm faking it anymore'

To illustrate this post by @mayahawkse I would like to visualize to you the difference:
A post in 2023:
A post in 2014:
A zoom out of the same post:
This is what a community looks like.
See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.
It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.
Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.
If you want more of something, reblog it.
