I need people who are like, “but it’s so statistically unlikely to be physically disabled, neurodivergent, and trans/queer all at once!” to search up the term, “comorbidity.”

Example:

Let’s say you have autism. Up to 70% of people with autism have ADHD. 47% of autistic people have GAD. *30% of autistic people have a physical disability or physical disabilities. Numbers for trans identity are variable, but it seems that somewhere around maybe 10% of autistic people are trans. 70% of autistic people are queer on the axis of sexuality. 70% of autistic people experienced ‘traumas’ and 44% met the criteria for PTSD (you can read the linked study for what defines ‘traumas’).

So, if you have autism, your chances of also being a traumatised physically disabled trans and sexuality-queer person with ADHD and GAD are (.7*.47*.3*.1*.7*.7≈.0048≈.5%), which means that, if you’re standing in a crowded square or at a concert, odds are that one or more people around you is all those things at once!

And that’s not even taking into account that, for example, people with both ADHD and autism are even more likely to have experienced traumatic events than someone with only autism, that people with ADHD and autism and trauma are even more likely to have GAD than someone who only has autism, and that LGBT people are also more likely to experience traumatic events.

(Bonus math: if we flip the percentages and do .3*.53*.7*.9*.3*.3, we get ≈.009, which means that only one person out of 100 people with autism will not be traumatised, have GAD, be queer in any way, won’t be physically disabled, and won’t have ADHD… which actually doesn’t mean they would only have autism, they could still have tons of other comorbidities I didn’t even account for here, such as tics (22%), psychosis and/or bipolar disorder (9.4% and 7.5%), intellectual disability and/or epilepsy (75% and 72%), etc…)

- Kinger and Queenie aren’t actually married, due to circus rules they’d had to have met in the circus because the erasure of memories but yes they were in a relationship and dated.

- While they don’t need to sleep, they still enjoy keeping up the schedule as if they do, in order to not go crazy over it. Kinger and Queenie usually spend their time in on or the others room though, as opposed to seperate.

- Kinger the type of mf to give Queenie a friendship bracelet and her say it’s lame and he almost cries and tries to take it back and then she puts it on her wrist and says no it hers (she cares she’s so bad at showing it)

- Queenie get jealous easily and Kinger can’t wrap his head around the concept of jealousy

- Kinger is Vegetarian and Queenie finds it weird

Omg, I’d love to hear more about the galladads/starr verse universe!!! ❤️ what would mick and ian be like at the first school event they go to with starr? A little outta place over protective dads?! ❤️❤️

Oh man, I feel like they'd feel so out of place because they're so obviously not her parents, but her bio parents disowned her and so somehow through the magic of fanfic they're able to at least become her legal guardians. (it probably takes a LOT of paperwork considering prison time and all that but this is fiction I do what I want!)

So Ian is insistent that they dress nice to make a good impression and Mickey doesn't see why his regular clothes are a problem but he puts on a nice button up anyway (and Ian ties a tie for him <3) and Starr is so chill okay—fuck you guys she's not nervous or anything—and they go to her school, talk to her teachers and everything

They are glad to see a couple of other kids that say hi to her in the hallway and everything, and she's all quiet and a little bit shy (aka the exact opposite of her regular personality—she first showed up all anxious and angry when the guys took her in, but she's gotten to be pretty bubbly and boisterous and really come out of her shell lately) and Ian tries to give Mickey a Look™ about it but Mickey is just worried about the kid

And thankfully Starr enrolled at school after she's started taking blockers and such, and she's socially presenting as a girl, so she doesn't have a lot of people misgendering her like they did at her old school, although anyone who does will be very quickly corrected—it'd probably be teachers since they'd be more aware of the situation? But most of her teachers are pretty chill and call her Starr and use she and all that

But yeah anyone steps a toe outta line and the guys have got her back. Like I said before Mickey would walk into this knowing nothing about trans stuff, but same as with Ian's bipolar he would do his research because it's important to the people he considers family, and they've very quickly accepted her into their family

But I do think that there's probably some stupid assholes who give Starr a hard time at school (as there always is) and Mickey gets super protective of her—he's there to pick her up and makes sure the bullies get a good look at him, knuckle tats and all, so they know exactly what they've got coming if they mess with his kid (not that Ian is above giving asshole bullies a good punch in the face, but "they're teenagers, Mick, you can't hit them!" "you think they know that? fuck no")

Also he tells Starr that if she's gotta then she can tell people she lives with ex-cons so that the bullies get scared away (she tells him that no, she'll fight her battles, and Mickey's like "okay then I'm at least gonna teach you how to throw a punch" and poor Ian gets to be the punching bag 😂)

I feel like they'd try to help build up her confidence and give her the tools to protect herself, you know? Especially because they want her to feel like she's safe in a world that's not always kind to people like her, and she deserves a chance at a good life. Ian also gets her signed up for like, boxing classes or something after school when she talked about being interested in doing something like that. But she also loves doing girly things like shopping, and Mickey endures the mall now and again for her sake (lbr he grumbles the whole time but he's there okay) and Ian always asks her to show them what she got since she clearly comes home all excited about it

I just love them letting her have the chance to be a kid and a teenager and give her a sense of autonomy while still trying to make sure she stays safe. They remember their own lives growing up and want her to have the best of everything that she can, especially with what she's already gone through. And yeah, she'd be a stubborn bratty kid sometimes but Ian had to deal with all his siblings, he's used to it :p he'd read parenting books for foster parents and figure out the best way to meet her where she's at, that sort of thing

My ship children

I made some headcanons for the Sanses. Now I wanted to list off some of my OCs. More specifically my ship children. I will draw them later. I mean I have, they were the first things I posted. These ship kids are a few years old, I made them maybe 5 years ago. Some of these ships I don't ship anymore, but I've already developed these characters too much to just get rid of them... So... Here.

Midnight 3' 0''. (Technically) Mom is Blue, dad is Error. She has Nightmare's powers because while she was being made or whatever you call it, Nightmare touched her soul before she was fully formed. The oldest even though she's the shortest. She had a birth defect. Loves flowers. Especially lavender and roses. Loves cute animals. Especially bunnies, puppies, and kitties. Her favorite animal is butterflies. Loves squishies and stuffed animals. Loves pancakes and cookies. Likes to write. Writer's brain. Scared of basically everything. Pegasister. I mainly ship with Ivan.

Ivan 4' 4''. Mom is Horror, dad is Dust. Acts like a doggo. Scares his parents. Has a long tailbone that sticks out. Has a good sense of smell. Can probably see in the dark. He is sensitive to smell and particularly dislikes the smell of gunpowder. He never went to school. He can't speak properly and he can't read. He is just by definition slow. He likes to watch cartoons. He'll watch anything on the TV screen. Get very upset when he's hungry. Major separation anxiety. Hates the world. I mainly ship with Midnight.

Chip 3' 5''. Mom is Blue, dad is Error. Nice and plump (Before anyone says "How, she's a skeleton", easy. Ecto body). She likes hugs, but it is just a natural reflex that she glitches out when touched. She hates being stared at and will get angry, even if you just trying to admire her. The stars on her head change shape and color depending on how she feels. I mainly ship with Zany.

Zany 4' 1''. He is made out of pure negativity and magic. He is technically not related to Nightmare. But Night and Cross love and care for him like their child. Zany is the prince of darkness. But he is the complete opposite of Nightmare. Probably the nicest guy you could ever meet. Hates his name. Likes head pats. Loves strawberry milk and the color pink... Good boy. Very strong. Scared of apples. I mainly ship with Chip.

Domino 4' 0''. Mom is Chess, dad is Mafia. Smokes. Good at card tricks. Probably gambles (He cheats and never gets caught). I mainly ship with Honeydew.

Mayonnaise 4' 0''. Mom is Classic, dad is Fell. Very laid back and chill... Except when it comes to Pitaya. Zany's bestie. They do pranks on the Bad Sanses together (Except Nightmare and Dust). Cheeky little prankster. I mainly ship with Pitaya.

Pitaya 3' 8''. Mom is Melon, dad is Sugar. Loves fanfictions and shipping (Like me). Cooks and bakes (Mayo loves her baking and will try to steal it). Can speak Spanish. I mainly ship with Mayonnaise.

Honeydew 3' 6''. Mom is Melon, dad is Sugar. Hates when Domino smokes. Nerdy boy. Can speak Japanese. I mainly ship with Domino.

Abstract 6' 0''. Has no parents. They are just a drawing came to life. The youngest but tallest (This is in birth order btw). They have no gender (I will usually refer to them as 'he' as to not be confusing by constantly saying 'they' though). Likes drawing their friends (Hasn't gotten to draw Chip yet because she refuses to stay still). Can't talk because they don't have a mouth. Their pupils shape into words that fit what they're thinking. Doesn't like profanity or technology. Collects random stuff. Likes creepy crawlies. Hate cleaning up. Scared of erasers. I mainly ship with Desire.

I didn't assign sexualities or ages to my characters because I didn't want to restrict myself or anyone who wants to use them. You can change their heights and age order if you want. You can ship them with whoever you want, proship or not. You can do whatever you want with my characters. Just credit me.

Donnie, because he’s autistic and is a softshell turtle, has sensory issues and is very picky about what food he eats and which clothes he wears, as well as what surfaces he touches. He secretly has a casual list catalogued about what sensory things he loves versus what he hates, and there’s a small area in his lab that’s sensory heaven for him.

All the turtles have different eye colours. Leo has natural heterochromia, one eye being cobalt blue and another eye being bright amber. Post-movie Raph has heterochromia from being turned into a Krang zombie for a short amount of time- one eye is emerald green, and another is a bright magenta purple. Donnie has warm brown eyes, and Mikey has baby/cornflower blue-ish grey eyes. April has hazel green eyes.

Teenage Mutant Intersex Turtles, anyone?? They’re all different variations of intersex on the intersex spectrum. Leo was presumed to be a guy and does have some male traits, but is biologically female- he’s both intersex and a trans dude (and I’m all here for it).

Raph is an aroace bigender (both transfem and demiboy), Mikey is genderfluid and greyaroace pansexual and panromantic, Donnie is nonbinary, asexual and greyromantic biromantic, and Leo is FTM trans, demisexual and gay (did I mention they are all intersex).

Yes I do headcanon disaster twins, and that Donatello was taller than Leonardo when they were younger but Leo is 3 and a half minutes older than Donnie and takes every damn opportunity to brag about it.

In the future, all of the turtles have cloaking brooches and stable jobs that earn them great income. They also have apartments close to the sewers that is their home.

Okay, we all know Donnie’s canonically autistic. But what if all the turtles are on differing parts of the spectrum. More at 5.

Donnie in addition to being autistic has insomnia, BPD and misophonia and does have sight issues and is prone to migraines due to staring at screens and not getting enough sleep, Raph has panic disorder, dyslexia, OSDD-1a and GAD, Leo has ADHD-I, autism, GAD and is bipolar, and Mikey has ADHD-HI, dyscalculia and autism. All of them have some form of PTSD post-movie.

Leo does know how to play chess please and thank you. He just does it for fun and doesn’t really practice.

Splinter has PTSD, is autistic and is bisexual (the most unrealistic thing is young Lou Jitsu/Hamato Yoshi in his 20’s NOT kissing men and enby hoes in addition to women). He’s not a bad father, he just passed some of that generational trauma of everything that’s happened to him, as well as his regrets and grief, down to his kids without even knowing and feels terrible about it once he realizes. He may have made so many mistakes as a father, but he deeply loves his sons beyond what they could ever comprehend, and he’d send anyone to the shadow realm if they laid a finger on his beloved turtle children.

Donnie and Leo (mostly Donnie) bite each other for no reason at all- not enough to hurt or draw blood, but enough for the bitten to yelp and want an apology from the one who did the biting.

April O’Neil is an also autistic lesbian polyamorous demigirl. She’s saving up enough money by working at The Foot shoestore partially for her top surgery. Sunita is her best friend soon-to-be girlfriend. They’re gay disasters your honor.

Cassandra Jones is MTF trans. Fight me on this one.

Sunita, despite being a teenage slime yokai, does celebrate and participate in Indian culture and does consider herself Indian (let me have my rep I’m starved of please). Identity-y stuff just to put it out there I guess.

I tend to say I'm trans. I guess some would argue I'm not for some reason as I don't just... fully identify as male, but with how VEHEMENTLY dysphoric the female label makes me, I feel like it's fair to say I'm trans. Not necessarily a trans-man but still trans.

Sexuality is a fairly fluid thing to me but I suppose you could say I'm pan or omni. I vary greatly in sexual drive from time to time (sometimes repulsed, sometimes hypersexual). I don't really "remember" anything before the past few months, so I'm really only into or attracted to my partner, who is nonbinary (:

That stuff about anime characters being trans always riles me up because it's such a confusing, stupid thing to say and I don't think they know what they're trying to say either.

Are they saying Tomo wants to transition to being a boy? Because she fucking doesn't. That's the whole fucking point of the series! She's a girl who wants to be seen as girly!

Are they saying Tomo was a boy who transitioned? Because once again that verifiably isn't true. It's not mentioned or implied or even vaguely possible to interpret that as being something that happened.

But it's worse! SO MUCH WORESE that they are either implying Tomo is some kind of poorly passing trans girl, because she's bigger and stronger, which goes absolutely against the whole concept of passing and gender identity and everything these people say they believe in and value... BUT I'VE ALSO SEEN SO MANY QUEER PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPER OBSESSED WITH THE IDEA OF GLORIFYING UGLY TRANS PEOPLE FOR BEING UGLY AND POORLY PASSING

Or or or..... are we supposed to think Tomo is a girl masculine girl that wants to be boy that wants to act girly because she's a trans boy that's gay? Because where the fuck is that coming from?

And I keep seeing this sort of THIS CHARACTER IS TRAAAAAANS stuff happened to so many characters like Deku and Bakugou and Link and Samus of course and Naoto (but not Chie I guess!) and all of these other characters that are just slightly outside of their gender roles and these people can't explain what they mean or what it's supposed to entail! They're just obsessed with the idea that breaking a gender stereotype in any way makes a character TRANS in some non-specific way and it drives me totally fucking insane because it doesn't make ANY sense!!!!

So for me specifically when it comes to calling any character trans, especially now a days, in any medium whatsoever, it denies and erases culture.

I'll explain. Japan specifically doesn't have a very large trans population. And it's not because they are "oppressed" it's because over there if you are believe you are trans rather than rush to transition you like lunatics, they do their job and put you into therapy. Why? Because being trans should not be a trend. Being trans should not be a fad. Being trans is what it's always been which is a mental illness stemming from extreme body dysphoria. As such being "Transgender" or as it was known previously, being "Transsexual". was a mental illness under the classifications of the WHO.

However in the last 5-10 years they rescinded that classification. Not because they no long view it as a mental illness. No. But because they wanted people who were trans to stop being, "Stigmatized". The irony behind this having been done was that for actual people who were trans, their insurance no longer covered their transitions. The WHO actually screwed over the entire trans population in one sweeping move.

But more than that, many people were also pissed, myself included, because removing something as a mental illness classification was damaging 3 fold. How?

The above reason about cutting off insurance.

It basically said, "If something is a mental illness we should actually continue to stigmatize it hence why we are removing it"

And it pushed an impossible standard, where now ANYTHING could be removed as a mental illness, just because it is, "Stigmatized". Like say Bipolar disorder. Or maybe Psychopathy. Extreme cases of OCD. Turrets. Literally anything that is stigmatized could be removed from classifications, AND be subject to the above two problems all over again. Specifically number 1. Losing the ability to have insurance treat it.

But my over arching issue with calling anime characters trans is again that it ignores Japanese culture. Hell it ignores most cultures on earth. Consider this. A girl is born and in the womb she was exposed to high levels of testosterone. And when she is born, she ends up taller and slightly more masculine than other girls. If you tell her that she is a boy you are doing 2 things.

You are telling girls that they are not allowed to act outside of YOUR definition of feminine. And you are saying that because she does NOT match your exact definition of feminine, she'd be better off as a man. Or maybe she sees that as you telling her unless she transitions, (a process including a life of body altering chemicals that you can never stop taking, but also likely a life of body altering surgeries and potential of many complications in the future, as well as the inability to ever have kids, or to ever actually enjoy sex.) she will never be happy or find someone who loves her.

People don't have any clue how damaging that is. And of course they don't. Detransitioners are growing in number by the day and the internet PURGES them. They are bad for Big Pharma of course they are purged. Can't let those, ugly, clearly bigoted detransitioners ruin your ability to sterilize the youth am I right? :D

My sarcasm aside, imagine how upsetting it must be for a girl growing up now. Imagine being like Tomo from the manga and anime. Could you imagine what it does to your psyche when everyone tells you that a character similar you isn't a girl. And not for any valid reasons. But because they decided, "Oh well she doesn't match what I PERSONALLY view as a girl, so she's a man actually". WHO THE ACTUAL FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE to tell others what is and isn't allowed to be feminine and masculine?

Who the fuck are you to decide what being trans is?! Because I can tell you what it's not. It's not a boy that likes to wear makeup sometimes. It's not a girl that happens to like wearing jeans. It's not a drag queen. It's not a girl that likes to keep her hair short. NONE of those things MAKE you trans. You know what does? Extreme and RARE cases of gender dysphoria. And I'm sorry to tell you, that's NOT all of a sudden 30%-50% of the population. This new shit? It's social contagion. It's girls being forced to see only fans models other types of models all day every day on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and over platforms. And when you have to compare yourself to THAT all day every day? Yeah I can see how some girls would be like, "You know maybe life as a man would be better."

Never you mind that 70%+ of Females that say they are trans are either on the spectrum, OR later realize they are lesbians. Or both. Kind of makes me feel like modern trans activists are honestly just fucking homophobes. Because I guess it's not gay if you are trying to be the opposite sex.

Long story short, In the 90's and 00's there was a war waged on gender norms. People were tired of girls being called too manly or boys being called too feminine. And yet now that's not only exactly what we are telling them, but we are also pushing sex change surgery on them if they are those things. So we not only brought back gender norms. There is a radical sect of people ENFORCING IT through indoctrination and love bombing.

And I WILL be called transphobic for this post and you know what? I don't care. Because I know I'm not. gender: i saw a fic once where blue was amab but her moms like, knew psychically that she would be trans and just raised her very like neutrally gender-wise and i love that. anyway i hc blue as nonbinary transfem

favorite hc: ok i have my many mental health hcs for all the gangsey including! all of them are autistic but blue was the only one raised in a house that was 1) also nd 2) knowledgeable about autism and 3) like, positive, about it? like accepting and encouraged stimming and helpful coping mechanisms and such. yknow. like decent parents would. related to this i think she would teach the rest of the gangsey healthy coping mechanisms and how to like, embrace their autism. and like makes/finds them little fidget toys and such.

favorite: i think that when gansey, blue, and henry go on their roadtrip gansey grows his hair out. i also think that blue lets him try out one of her chew necklaces and he ends up always having one with him to chew on when he's reading

ronan:

gender: oh you just KNOW this boy's trans. he's full of rage, secrets, AND he shaved his head. he's transmasc. and i know 100% that niall was shitty about it and aurora was so accepting but very confused. declan pays for his hormones/top surgery but other than that they don't talk about it. matthew always finds little trans colored things to give to ronan.

favorite: as always, he's autistic. i think when blue first brings it up he gets really upset (so do adam and gansey when she talks to them but ronan gets particularly riled by it) but blue just starts listing out all the symptoms and after stewing in it for awhile ronan goes and talks to her about it. or OR maybe noah calms him down and tells him he's also autistic and helps hin come to terms.

ALSO ronan and blue are absolute besties but they'll NEVER admit it. i also think blue ronan and noah have a groupchat for memes and making fun of gansey and lusting over him and adam. any time blue mentions henry ronan starts spamming the murder squash song

oh ALSO blue gets him a chew bracelet and he thinks it's so stupid until he finds himself just gnawing on it constantly

adam:
