Dance the Night | Lucy Bronze

A/N: Based on this request. Please enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Also, I am actually going to have a FaceTime date with my own Northern English, defender this Sunday so wish me luck :)

Also, I imagine that these are the types of dance covers that you would post on Tik Tok btw.

That's the moment I shine

Lucy and I had the shared experience of playing in an American university. The only difference was that UC Berkeley was my home for my time there.

One of the things that I did during my four years at Cal that made them special and even was something that people loved learning about me was that I was also a part of a dance group whilst playing football. When I was in America, I found that dance was a good way to maintain my cardio and it was a fun way to keep my mind off of football for a bit. I used to do ballet as a kid and did some hip-hop dancing as I grew older so it was not something too out of the ordinary.

Even though football was my true calling, that did not stop me from dancing in the locker rooms before games, and posting little dance covers on Tik Tok during camps at the behest of Mary Earps. The only reason that the fans got wind of the fact that I’m that teammate constantly dancing was because of Lucy, who was filming one time before we played in a friendly against Germany and posting it on Instagram. She says that I didn’t pull her immediately that day but I know Lucy and I saw the way she watched me behind the phone as I danced to Work Out by J. Cole.

During the Euros, it became a thing, I guess, for the main Lionesses Instagram to post my pregame dances in the locker room. One of those I ended up teaching Miss Lucy Bronze how to slow dance which turned into a faster dance much to Lucy’s dismay. Lucy twirling me into a hold was the focal point of the video and I get why this one became a fan favorite and material for loads of couple edits of us.

The caption of said post, “@bbcstrictly @y/n is waiting for her call-up! 👀”

Of course I commented, “@y/n: @bbcstrictly ok but actually I would be down, I love love love the show 💃🙏”

Post win at the Euros, I was getting a call from the producers of Strictly Come Dancing to perform a one-time, special dance. They said that it was some kind of honoring fit for a new European champion.

I worked it out with my management that it would definitely be something that I could do after the World Cup since that was my next objective after a successful Euros run.

During the off time in the World Cup, I found myself talking to the producers as they had ideas of the performance and the choreography that would go with it. So, sometimes I would have to deny a walk with Lucy to figure out some logistics. I was met with a small but still visible pout from Lucy as she only nodded and would call up Jordan to take my place.

My attention was monopolized once we finalized what song and choreography we were aiming for and of course my new dance partner. I didn’t really know the guy but apparently he was on a reality show and all the girls were after him. The only taste of reality shows that I had was occasionally watching Love Island over Rachel and Millie’s shoulders on bus rides to games. I did not understand at all what went on but the drama was entertaining from what I saw.

“So, you’re not going to tell me the name of the song you will be dancing to?” Lucy said as she remained sitting on the hotel bed as she watched me change into something nicer than the training set I had been in all day. Eyes trained on me the whole time.

“Nope, it’s a surprise, baby. Sworn to secrecy anyways” I said as I got ready for our walk.

Lucy frowned as she started scratching her neck “well at least show me who you are going to be dancing with, like what if it’s a weirdo you know?”

I comply and give her my phone after I look up the name of the guy they had paired me up with.

“Not too bad looking right?” I tease, as I put on some dunks and ask for my phone back.

Lucy raised an eyebrow and laughed a little, “I know I can’t dance like you but ya think it’s too late to ask if I could be your dance partner?”

Now it was my turn to laugh, “don’t be jealous baby, now let’s get going there is a cafe with a chocolate pastry I wanted to try!”

I pulled her up ignoring the small pout and muttering “ ‘m not jealous” as I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and dragged her out of the door.

After our loss at the World Cup final and a lot of tearful goodbyes to the other girls, Lucy and I made our way back to Barcelona and just took some time to decompress.

One of Lucy’s favorite things to wake up to was seeing me in the kitchen making myself breakfast, dancing in silence with my airpods in my ears without a care in the world.

This particular Saturday morning, however, she was confused because instead of a loose, messy bun, my hair was brushed and down.

Instead of one of my old, English training shirts, I was in a lilac crop top and denim shorts that showed off my legs and not my old PSG shorts.

As she got closer, the smell of her favorite perfume on me hit her nose, suddenly Lucy stood there wondering what day it was and did she fuck up and forgot some anniversary.

As I turned to go to our fridge to pull out the water pitcher, I caught sight of Lucy just standing by the kitchen island.

“Baby, you know it’s rude to stare” I tease and followed up with a quick kiss on her cheek “Good Morning, sleepy head”

Lucy remained silent for a beat before going, “Why are you all dressed up on a Saturday morning?...Did I forget something?”

She rubbed her eyes, lifting her clear glasses as she did so.

“Nope, our anniversary is still Bastille day, uh my birthday hasn’t changed and yours is still in October” I listed them off on my fingers and then continued as if I didn’t leave Lucy even more confused as I began cleaning the counter.

A pair of arms wrapped around me stopping me in my tracks as Lucy burrowed her head into my neck taking in the perfume I wore.

“Then will Miss L/N tell me where she is going dressed like this, hm?” She mumbled as she placed a chaste kiss on my neck.

“Going to get lunch with…ugh what was his name? The one I'm going to be dancing with for Strictly Dancing, baby” I say, nonchalantly, a smirk creeping at my mouth as I felt Lucy’s arms tighten around me and her mouth getting close to my ear.

Lucy did not show jealousy often but I loved it when she did. I loved teasing her but she would always dismiss it saying that she knew that I was hers so why should she worry. But the tone of her voice gave her away.

“Oh really?” She says softly in my ear before turning me around my back to the countertop now. My face remained unfazed as I nodded, even though I was loving everything about the interaction.

“Yes?” I nod over to the other counter across from me. “I made you some breakfast so ya don’t miss me too much, even cut you some fruit”.

The softness and nonchalant nature of my voice made her jaw tightened a bit.

“Want me to go with you?” she said not letting me go, still caging me in against the counter.

I thought for a moment and then shook my head “no” and simply replied.

“I’m a big girl. Don’t you worry, Lucia” My eyebrows raised slightly as Lucy pulled back.

Lucy moves her arms back to her side, “Fine, but I’m driving you”

She did end up driving me to the little brunch place and ignored my “protests” of “you don’t have to walk me to the restaurant, Luce” as she held me tightly at the waist, her hand possessively on the bare skin on my waist.

I let myself out of Lucy’s hold as I introduced myself to my dance partner. He truly was the object of every other girls dream…just not mine. He wasn’t unattractive at all. Even though Lucy came literally holding me at the waist, it didn’t stop my dance partner from subtly looking me up at down.

“Well, it’s great to meet a Euro Champion and a world cup finalist, (y/n)” he said avoiding Lucy’s glare through her sunglasses.

I stop him and laughed, “well technically two, this is Lucy Bronze, my partner, she was just dropping me off”

Lucy only extends her hand out to the guy and firmly shakes his hand and mutters out “pleasure”.

The guy only nods “well, I’ll make sure she gets home safely”.

I hide the smile on my face when I saw Lucy, still holding his hand, say bluntly.

“Oh? No, I’ll be picking her up, don’t you worry” the guy’s hand falling limp as she let’s go.

I give Lucy a hug and planned to just give her a quick kiss on the cheek but she pulled me closer to her by the waist and gave me a slow kiss on the lips,

Before I pull away, she whispered quietly in my ear, “just wanted to make sure he knows who you're coming home to”

The little brunch outing was interesting to say the least. The boy was bold given Lucy did stare him down when she picked me up like she promised. Especially as we left the restaurant but I, kindly, avoided his “subtle” advances of him trying to lead me to Lucy’s car.

What had been discussed about the dance and from what I could see is that I would be the main focal point and he would be, for lack of a better term, an accessory. I, of course, would not be telling Lucy that immediately, I was very much enjoying the attention she was giving me.

It being essentially a solo dance made it easier since I have training and I wouldn't have to rely on someone else to also learn the choreography…which allowed for me to work on a little surprise for Lucy with my extra free time.

“Baby, can you help me with something?” I yelled down the hall of our shared apartment.

Lucy came in shortly with a raised eyebrow “ yeah what’s up?”

“Remember how you said that you wanted to be my dance partner instead of what’s his face?” I say as I move some of our furniture out of the way to make space in the middle all while trying to not hit Narla in the process.

Lucy looked at me confused and with a laugh said, “I never said that…what’d you need though?”

I grab her hands and pull her to the middle of our living room “Well can you be my dance partner? You know with all the training and all I can’t really practice the choreo with him…so you want to help me?”

Lucy smiled and nodded as she pulled me closer to her and gave me a twirl “Ok, miss l/n, lead on”

My, sweet, Lucia can be a wonderful dancer when she puts time into in. She followed my direction even though the “quick movements of the dance” were something she would have to get used to but eventually after a couple of weeks. She was able to fluidly hold me and move with me.

Narla definitely got a kick out of her two moms doing something akin to the salsa in the living room. I would say Lucy, even with the groans and complaints, secretly, enjoyed it as well.

The day of filming came quickly and out of nowhere and we were filming it in the streets of Barcelona; there was just no way we would be able to fly to England and back, especially with pre-season and games starting.

I just want to give a special thank you to M&S for giving Lucy that outfit she wore during that one photoshoot we had with England, honestly, doing the Lord’s work. I had subtly asked that I would love to see her wear it again and again subtly suggested she wear it to the Strictly Dancing shoot and I just love it when she listens to me.

Luce was behind the cameras and chatted with the producers as they waited for me to come out of the dressing room ready to film.

As I was led out with my hand loosely in my dance partner’s I reveled the intensity of Lucy’s stare.

Why?

Well I had a silver, fringe dress with an open back and the dress came up to my mid thigh and matching high heels and, well the fact, my dance partner was trying ever so slightly to get closer to me as we were speaking with the director.

As we got into position, center “stage” in the streets of Barcelona, I look over to Lucy and give a quick wink to her.

“Dance the Night by Dua Lipa” started to play on the set. I began moving quickly and sensually and interacting very little with my partner. The fringe of the dress definitely did not leave much to the imagination. There were parts where his hand would find my waist but those lasted only a few seconds.

Lucy watched, not letting me escape her sight and hid her frown as she noted the times my dance partner would slow the movements of his hands once they reached my waist or when he looked me over as I danced a little ahead of him.

We did not anticipate it being a one take but it was something that I wanted as it was more real in a way. As the music faded and the host came onto the stage to interview me, I caught Lucy in the corner of my eye, and she was smiling so big and visibly more relaxed.

“(y/n), so happy you could be here and we are just so happy to celebrate you and your achievements. How does it feel?” I hold the microphone, still catching my breath

“I loved this to be honest, love the show, and dancing is just something that I enjoy other than football. Uh, it’s definitely been some time since I’ve performed at this scale but it was absolutely a treat, thank you all for inviting me” I said gesturing to the crew members.

“Well, again we are happy to be a part of this and we know that another Euro Champions is in our midst, and I know that you had a little something prepared for the both of you?” The cameras now focused on a very confused Lucy.

I laugh and continue, “Yes, Miss Bronze, she thinks she has been helping me practice for this sole performance but we were actually going to dance together as well, come on babe” I gesture for her to come onto the stage.

The interviewer walks off announcing, “and now for a special dance by the Euro Champions and World Cup Finalists choreographed by Miss (y/n) (l/n)”.

Lucy finally reached me and whispered, “You little sneak,you planned this didn’t you?”

I only wink and immediately pushed Lucy into position like we have been doing at home in our living room.

“Maybe~” The music restarted and Lucy with the biggest smile on her face did everything perfectly. There were some slips in the movement but they were replaced with laughter as Lucy held onto me tightly as the music faded.

She hugged me tightly whispering, “Im so proud of you” her hands finding their place at my hips.

I gave her a quick kiss on the lips as we both ignored the claps from the crew members.

“So…would it be wrong to ask if you can keep the dress?” I smack her slightly at the question.

I give her a knowing smile, “Dress is mine to keep, but I don’t want to keep it on for too long, Miss Lucia Bronze”

I have never seen Lucy excuse herself, thank all the crew members and wish everyone a wonderful weekend so quickly before carrying me off the set in the midst of a fit of laughter.

Let’s just say that these scenes from the recording quickly overtook the locker room dance in edits and well it was all worth the teasing from our teammates when it finally aired.

Hello💕sooo I was wondering, Do you have any favorite parallels between Hananene and Mitsukou???

And as a fun extra question, do you have any guesses of who in the jshk cast, would survive by the end??? Cuz I feel like we’re gonna lose a bunch of characters by the end of the manga tbh 🥲

Anyway, take care 💕💃💕

You talked about the characters' deaths, it made me remember how the characters aren't punished properly in this series. The PP arc, Hanako did all that so at the end Yashiro and Kou said "don't do that again" and then a new arc started hahahahaha

Likewise with arc number six, Hanako literally almost killed Yashiro's best friend, and after everything was over and they got back together, once again Kou and Nene were like "don't do that again" and Hanako assured them that he wouldn't do it what they wanted. Soon after, everything was fine hahahaha a new arc begins.

This irritates me a little. Many things happened, talk about it!!! They just let it go and move on. So, about the deaths, I can't tell you because death doesn't seem to be the end of everything in this series.

Mitsuba was the only one who "died" but came back before we missed him. There is always a near death, but so far nothing serious (for now).

If I were to make a guess, I think Tsukasa, Hanako and Mitsuba would disappear, Tsukasa and Mitsuba are almost certainly the most likely for me for now.

About Yashiro… I don't know, but since she's at an impasse, I don't doubt that her end will be death or that she will be trapped in some way like a supernatural. It would be a bit obvious, so I would be surprised if she stayed alive.

The others would only die in the middle of an intense battle, I don't doubt that this will happen (the intense battle) but about their deaths, I don't know. We know that Kou's future is guaranteed at least until Teru's age, if the story continues until Kou reaches that age, then he will be safe for now (Mirai has advanced his time).

I don't know if Aidairo would kill most of the characters, but if she does it will be something very brave, most people hate this ending hahaha it's happened with some famous series, I won't mention names to avoid spoilers.

About the parallels hahaha I'll confess that I'm still starting out on Mitsuba and Kou's ship, their development is very slow, I still only see them as friends, I need more, I want more moments between the two in a more romantic way, but This will take time, there are some internal barriers that Kou and Mitsuba need to overcome.

I still wonder if Kou is thinking about the possibility of him being attracted to Mitsuba? He seems to have an attachment to him, but he still believes it's just friendship, and Mitsuba seems to live in another world hahahaha

But about the parallels

These moments are perfect, Mitsukou in the aquarium, and Hanene on the far shore. Both running in search of answers and in the end becoming more attached to each other.

Hi @inkovert! Thank you, as always, for the tag. Just a quick shout-out; if you don't know Inkovert yet, please please please go check out their WIP, My Dearest Enemy. Also, do you like having in-depth discussions about writing with other up-and-coming authors? Participate in @inkovert's Spilled Ink Saturdays. The first session (on book-to-screen adaptations) was a lot of fun!

✦ What motivates you to write?

I agree with @inkovert. It's not that I'm motivated to write, exactly... It's more that I feel I... have to? There's a sort of internal inertia that keeps pulling me back to fiction. Maybe it's obsession? Maybe it's Maybelline? 💃😉 No, but seriously, I think it may be connected to this weird instinct I have to document things? To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, when I was in my mid-twenties, I went through a terrifying break-in. I kid you not; there was a literal man with a balaclava crouched in my shower in the middle of the night. How did I respond? By screaming, obviously. But after the screaming? I called up my boyfriend and narrated every single detail of what I saw and heard while trying to escape the house with my family. In my mind, I felt it was critical to tell him what was going on, not because I thought it would help catch the culprit(s) (we didn't know if there were more), save us from whatever bitter fate awaited, etc., but kind of in the same way people carve "I was here" into walls? If I was going to die (which was a possibility; a friend's father died in similar circumstances at around the same time), I needed someone to know what I'd seen, to know that I'd seen... So, do I write because I'd die if I didn't? No. I write because I'm going to die anyway. Because I know I'm going to die.

✦ Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them, and what are they like?

Haha, I don't know if any of the OCs in The Sorcerer's Apprentice make me smile. They all worry me a lot. By accepting an apprenticeship with the sorcerer Valeriano, Altaluna is heading straight into a nest of venomous vipers, and they are going to maim her; they are going to maim her for life. Every time she feels optimistic or wow-ed by the glitz and the glam of her new environment, I cringe internally. My poor, sweet summer child! Valeriano, on the other hand, is a monster, so it's hard to smile when thinking of him. Hmm... maybe the only character I genuinely smile around is Cucufate, the talking monkey. He's the only character whose behaviour and snide comments can be underplayed as just 'animal antics,' which means he's the only character who can get away with giving people a little of what they truly deserve. It's hard not to love him for it.

✦ What process of writing do you enjoy the most?

Again, I have to agree with @inkovert. The editing process means no blank page, and no blank page means (rejoice!) no existential suffering. My first drafts are always shit and a disappointment. But my second drafts? Dost thou want to live deliciously? With the second draft, I know where I'm going, what's happening, where to trim the fat and everything I need to make the story what I wanted it to be in the first place. Usually, I downright discard the first draft and write the entire story from scratch, but better, so much better. And editing the second (or sometimes, third) draft? Pure, unadulterated bliss. Goodbye, low self-esteem, goodbye doubts; cue me some Nina Simone, why don't you?

Editing, re-drafting. I'm good at figuring out what's wrong and have no trouble whatsoever massacring my darlings.

✦ What is something in the writeblr community that is most enjoyable?

The community! I love participating in tag & ask games, reading people's work, celebrating my mutual's triumphs, and sharing my progress. I don't have any writer friends outside of Tumblr (apart from academic writer friends, though they're a very different kettle of fish), so I really appreciate being able to log on and be met with all this creativity.

✦ A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)

Okay, so first thing first: I have ADHD. Any thought I have is an explosion that simultaneously sends spin-off thoughts in every imaginable direction, which, in turn, send spin-off thoughts in every imaginable direction, and so on and so forth, and on and on, until some of the spin-offs reach a dead end and their line withers, and/or I reach the limits of my capacity to hold all these thoughts in my mind and spontaneously combust. Instead of trying to fight this multi-generative tendency (this leads to a state of paralysis where I can't do anything), I've found a way to let the 'explosions' take the lead without overloading my systems, so to speak. Basically, I figured that if I stored every direction my mind went in somewhere other than my mind, I could let it do its thing without risking burnout. For that, I use MindNode, a visual brainstorming software. And let me tell you, it's been a life-saver. Now, when considering a scene, I document every possible route available to the characters and/or the setting, assign each ramification a score (for example, +1 Worldbuilding, +1 Foreshadowing, +1 Symbolism, +1 Character Development, -1 Cliché, -1 Undermines Tension, -1 Repetitive, etc.), and then choose the one with the highest score to write out. This method is obviously quite time-consuming, but it does have some unique strengths beyond helping me deal with my ADHD: (1) it ensures that there are no superfluous scenes in the grand design, (2) it ensures that all scenes are layered and fulfil multiple story functions at once, (3) it discourages going with the first option that presents itself (usually cliché, in my case), (4) it encourages out-of-the-box creative thinking, (5) and, finally, it's likely to lead to scenes that surprise you, the writer (for example, I was shocked by how many routes led to my character's death, lol). So, yeah, MindNode has been very helpful to me.

I love the magic system, but I'm not sure I'll reveal anything more about it before publication than I already have in this post. You're just going to have to wait and see ;)

Like, they seem like they would hang out after their matches and just talk about the good and bad parts of life together and chill. Also completely random but I think Hondo and Kaiser would get along well for no reason other than I just want to believe so, like I can see them planning a trip to the library together and then Kaiser shows up 20 minutes earlier than they planned and then he thinks Hondo is late when in reality he showed up right on time, and then Kaiser gets mad confused when he sees Hondo checking out a cute silly manga instead of the fucking 4000 page copy of the dictionary he reads for funsies but it's okay because they still had fun anyways.😍

What I was supposed to do today: many many things, many of them overdue

What I did do: spent probably just a little under an hour trying to find a good outfit to go see Barbie in, since I only have one shirt that's half-orange half-pink, plus pink nail polish and eyeshadow and body glitter for my face.

Anyway, this movie was SO worth being the first one I've seen in a cinema since before Covid started, and there were so many women there dressed in various shades and states of pink, and everyone laughed a lot and took group pictures afterwards and the cinema was just packed, on a Wednesday evening, with so many women in pink talking about which barbies they had and what they did with them. It's a good movie, really, I had a lot of fun with the jokes and the songs and the silly Kens-fight scene (I think they were only missing those pool noodles to beat each other with) ✨🎀💗

Oh, also, 100/10 for the scene where a dude grabs Barbie and she immediately punches him, zero hesitation 🙌💃🎀💗

I love the panelling and layouts in your comics! I always read Ad Astra updates at least twice on release - once for the story and once to roll around in the technical aspects. It's always so exciting to see someone doing comics who really makes use of the medium, and it makes me want to experiment with my own!

i've always been pretty interested in...layouts and paneling and stuff like that. it's definitely something i'm paying attention to when i Read comics, and something im thinking about when i Draw them too. so i'm glad it's paying off!!!!!

of course some page layouts will always be "just clocking in to work" pages that are purely functional (or even sometimes the honorable wise man's adage, "do it mid or don't finish"), but even those are interesting in their own way to me. it's gratifying that other people notice the Thinking i do about it 😌🥰

i would totally encourage you to play around with that stuff yeah!!!! a very powerful tool 😤 plus it's just fun to experiment with comics heheehe

favorite color used to be periwinkle blue but too many scrubs come in that color so he got kinda sick of it (so now I guess it might be marigold? whatever that really deep rich yellow color is).

She's an ok gift giver in that his sleuthing ability is pretty good (he'll ask a few months in advance in the hopes the receiver might be surprised or will ask other people what the receiver might want) but is terrible at coming up with things people might like on the fly/agonizes over 'what if they have this already' 'what if they don't like it' 'i shouldnt buy them something they won't use...' . Alice's 'giving' love languages are acts of service and words of affirmation i think (and 'receiving' is probably physical touch)

one of the best recent developments in the alicewalker story imo is just how much she HATES his vibe the more that goes on ... especially now that i've stumbledtrippedfallen into the sysba route with her. The comedic potential of sysba's bestie and sysba's paramour wanting to tear each other to bits but begrudgingly tolerating each other for sysba is <333 to me. I don't really know what's going on with them yet since we don't have much DW content but if i had to describe what i'd wish for their root, it would be two planets on a collision course because they're too foolish (is it foolish?? is it?? is desiring intimacy not the human condition??????) to stay away from each other (and so get pulled into each others' orbits). Equal but opposing forces slowly but surely pulled together and the closer they get the more inescapable that bond feels but if they allow it to run its full course and reach its natural conclusion the only thing waiting for them is mutual destruction (i really believe, of all the ROs and characters, DW's goals and views of the world are most directly opposite Alice's and vice versa like they could not be more different, so them even being together at all means both of them stepping outside of their natural equilibrium and sacrificing some degree of themselves/their values goals etc.) like its doomed to fail! before it begins!! but it's beautiful while it lasts!! the worst mistake they ever make but they don't regret it for a second!!!!

anyway im normal about it. invested a totally normal amount.

#i dont have any other attollo ocs i think about it but im sooo attached to alice at this point that anything else feels.. fake?#not to mention since romance isn't the main point i dont feel like im missing out on tons of content by just vibing with the cast -#- i don't see alice pursuing (op suha and pariah). like the platonic relationships are just as interesting to me

I know we're only in the prologue of the arg, but I honestly think of Void when I think of him, since he sounds so trapped. Plus, we're going to be exploring themes of isolation anyway. Also Show and Tell and The Contortionist. Because it feels like he's being used. By who? I'm not sure. Tunnel Vision works, too, mostly cause of the lines involving eyes (open your view, eyes on the prize, your focus is empty, etc.) And the whole song, mainly the line show me how far obsession goes is really fitting for us Wally fangirls.

Barnaby B. Beagle 🐶🤡🌭

In a way, I feel like Field Trip is kinda fitting. I feel like Barnaby's misunderstood by some people in the fandom. He's just a comic who likes playfully teasing people, speaks his mind, and is pretty much on his own path in life. He's just doing what he likes and most don't seem to understand, just like the song. I think Lunchbox Friends works too, mainly for his friendship with Wally. They have such a genuinely good relationship with each other, the type of friends Melanie describes wanting in the song.

Frank Frankly🦋😒🌺

Honest to God, he's an Alphabet Boy. Likes things his way and likes to over explain his favorite things. He doesn't mean to come off condescending, but I like to think it just happens by accident for him. Also Fingers Crossed fits him and Eddie. It seems like they want to keep their relationship secret from the others, or one of them has yet to confess but is afraid to.

Julie Joyful😁🪀🧮

Jump rope comes to mind, because it's a song about jump roping to distract yourself from your crush. Faerie Soiree works too, especially the ending with the lyrics gather me, all of we, everyone I've been, the boys and the girls and everyone in between. It's also a fun song to dance to, the kind of song I imagine Julie really liking. Recess also works as well, as it's a song about taking a break when things get tough.

Poppy Partridge 🦚😨🍰

She is 1000% Soap, a song about being scared to say too much and be careful with how you are with the person you love. She also seems to love baking so I feel like The Bakery works great as well.

Eddie Dear💌😅💃

Soap works for him as well, but I feel like Function works, too, with lyrics like tripping on my toes, can't help it, limbs all numb from my mind, and it's generally about being nervous. Time Flies works really well too cause it's a long song that has lines involving sending letters, and Arts and Crafts, since that's what Eddie likes to do.

Sally Starlet🌞🎭✨

Emerald works really well, extremely well, it's something I could genuinely see Sally singing (rarity I am, it's offensive, got them on my tail and they're restless). And the Amulet segment of Nymphology. It's pretty much the same as Emerald anyway. Drama Club is also super fitting as it's about being dramatic (who would've guessed lol).

Howdy Pillar🐛🏬💵

Howdy is said to be kinda bossy and I like the idea of him being The Principal. Numbers also works in a way since he's a business man who's not selling real products, just earning a profit without much effort (as far as we know of course).

Dollhouse. I know, I know, it's already pretty obvious, but the lyrics paint a good picture of him and Wally (everyone thinks that we're perfect, I see things that nobody else sees, don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen, etc.)

"MELON GET THE FUCK BACK HERE WITH THE SANDWICHES!!" shouted Buck as he chased around a certain shork who was laughing it's ass off, in it's hands were a container filled with egg salad sandwiches that you've made by hand. You chuckled at the two goos and set the blanket down on the grass, the winds blew and the clouds covered the sun just right for the skies to be a calm shade of blue.

the trees danced with the breeze and the little critters that the lamb captured and released into this garden for the goos were chittering, chirping, and doing their merrily songs. by the time you set the picnic basket down and sat upon the blanket, Buck was dragging a pouty Melon Shork as he now holds the container of delicious sandwiches.

"got him, now can we please eat? I'm starving.." Buck complained as he plopped Melon onto the picnic blanket and sat down next to you, he always seemed to loved being close to you but you didn't mind. you pulled out the food from the basket as Melon adjusted and sat itself up, it's eyes illuminating immediately at the sight of the food you've made. "woah! the food you've made looks great (your name)! might as well taste good too!" it compliments you, a dust of red tinting your cheeks as you chuckled.

As the two goos started to eat the food you've made, practically purring from how good it was, you just smiled and let them have their fun.

it was really nice having them along with you, even if you three are a rather pea in a pod trio.

this is late like all my asks are, since I practically live at my job djfgksgkjsg ty Sasha!! <3 I'll answer for both bc I love them :')

17. What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?

Lyn: the smile of a winner!! 💃 actually, I think what they usually notice (or look at, anyways) is the purple hair in their streaks, to see if it's still good or if it's fading and they need to touch it up. as for what other people notice first, I figure it's probably the heterochromatic green & grey eyes.

Tysinno: probably his eyes, and specifically if he still has any eyeshadow from the night before still on, since he'll fall asleep with it frequently enough lol. with other people, I imagine they'll probably notice the glowing eyes or the white streak of hair before anything else.

25. What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?

Lyn: Shakespeare! one of their dads is an indie film director who's done more than a few movies based on said plays, so Lyn is more than well-versed in the subject. their name even comes from one of his plays: Lyn is short for Lychorida, a character from Pericles.

Tysinno: he knows how to help safely deliver a baby! which I doubt will come up in SHOH proper, but I imagine it's something he did in his backstory during his years on the road. he's also got an interest in astronomy, and could name a lot of stars and their corresponding myths (if any).

39. Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there?

Lyn: invited and included, even if they weren't wanted. Lyn isn't lacking in self-love and self-confidence, and would initially have a hard time believing they weren't wanted... before resolving to change minds with their charm lol.

Tysinno: excluded if he wasn't wanted. Tysinno isn't big on most social events as it is, unless it's either a small group of close friends or some really big thing where he could drink in the corner by himself lol. he'd rather stay home and read a book.

52. Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting?

it's definitely a mix of both for the both of them, depending on the situation they're in? with that said:

Lyn: maaaybe acts on their immediate emotions a bit more? they're proud and stubborn, and if they think they're right about something or if X should happen right now, they'll probably act on that feeling. they're pretty big on following their gut instincts about stuff.

Tysinno: waits for the facts a bit more. he doesn't like the idea that something bad could happen as a result of rushing in before thinking things through, and wants to take the time to make sure he's making the right choice.

55. What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?

Lyn: they're not an investigative journalist yet. that said, the whole building connections and making contacts part of it all. while they don't completely hate it by any means, they do dislike how much time it can take to find the right people to be able to talk to.

Tysinno: (note that this one is stolen from my sister, as I have the artistic skills of a peanut and she is very good at it) shading his artwork. adding more details and making things more lively should be fun, right? wrong! or at least, he finds it a bit stressful to try and add those extra details to make things look the way he pictures it.

if you want to hide your psychic abilities from him, well, it depends on whether fate wants you to or not! Just like how if saiki is meant to do something, despite all the power he has to stop it, it ends up happening anyway! :P but if it wants you to then either 1) stuff miraculously happens to prevent him from finding out or 2) he sees and doesn’t believe his eyes 😋

if your open and tell him about them he’s a little shocked at first! Of course he is! He’s never seen them before canonly. And ngl? He not gonna believe you 😭 Not that he don’t trust you but your gonna need some stone hard evidence that it’s you and not some magic trick. It’ll be easier to convince him depending on what type of powers you have. Physical powers wont be such a struggle as idk?? reading minds. After he does get over the initial shock though..

Will ask you a million and one questions as far as how did you get them? When? How does it feel? How does it work? If he works hard enough will he get them too? Do you come from another galaxy? Is that your only power? (😅💓)

Him completely getting used to them never really happens. I mean it’s not normal really! To him there’s no other person like you! Cuz I mean he hasn’t found out 🤷‍♀️ He always praises you over how cool you are and says ‘even if he can’t gain powers like you he’ll work hard to be just as strong/cool! 💪‘

His parents reaction (if you decide to tell them too/if they find out) is oddly relaxed? Don’t get me wrong their jaws do drop and they are in shock, but after that they ask you a few questions and is pretty much like ‘cool👍‘

the Hairo family isn’t the type to see things like this and immediately snap a pic for the media, they’re kinda like ‘WOW this is rare!! Cool :)’ LOL 😂 I feel like they’re just mature like that, all three of them :}

if your friends know then you probably told him it was okay to tell them and he broke news first. Either that or a completely 180° and they didn’t find out til months later when you used them casually in public without realizing. Either way they pretty much scold Hairo for not telling them sooner when he says ‘he knows’ you have psychic powers. LIKE HELLO?! THATS NOT NORMAL?! SAY SOMETHING??

if you wanna keep it a secret he’s gotcha! 👌 as I said he doesn’t overreact to these types of things, I feel, so your secrets’ safe with him and he stands on business about it! Not a soul will know until your ready and if not then they never will.

Although, if your fine with the public knowing, he doesn’t want you to use them to cheat in sports/exercising. He thinks it’s very unmanly and unfair :^ which I’d be mad too if some dude with powers cheated like that, so can’t blame him. You likely agree with this so there shouldn’t be a problem really ☀︎
