Ppl going "waaahh unpopular opinion but Alice is kind of annoying and obnoxious and I don't think I'd like be her friend irl" is so funny to me bc like.
God forbid a cast of characters be multifaceted and have actual flaws and unpleasant aspects other than "grr angsty hero" and "whoops i'm so clumsy". Sometimes character dynamics and arcs need to be prioritized above "who would i personally be niceys with irl"
2. bro just WAIT until you hear about season 1 jon lol

I just had a riveting discussion with a self proclaimed anarcho-capitalist at work, whose opinions included:
Tipping is bad because 'contracts with your employer are voluntary and they can leave if they're not paid enough.' He will still tip if he thinks his wife is watching
If you're stuck inside a torture chamber with an apple you can bite every ten seconds that sends you to paradise for a year, it is illogical to bite the apple and humanity is broken for thinking so
The ending to the good place was bad because the characters weren't being logical and there was so much shit you can do with the afterlife.
The marxist labor theory of value 'isn't true' because paintings have arbitrary value
Heidegger was an idiot
Kant was an idiot
Nietzche was an idiot
He is an anarcho-capitalist
If I don't have 100% certainty for something than I can't truly say that I know something is true, and isn't it illogical that people do that?
I have to see this man every Monday from now until I quit. We work one on one.

the whole "you shouldn't identify as X, don't form an identity when you can't/don't know yet, you're too young, what if/you might change your mind!" etc etc. it's so silly when you think about it. what's wrong with changing your mind anyway? why did we all decide that gender/sexuality identity has to be static and can never change? why did we decide that it's a bad thing to change? because the old generation tells us change is bad? because they (mostly conservatives) want to conserve "the good old days/the way things are supposed to be" in their minds???
WHO CARES if someone says they're gay then realizes 5 years later they're bi. WHO CARES if someone says they're a girl and realizes after trying it out they're not. let people explore who they are until they figure it out even if they go through every lable available to them! maybe none fit and they make up their own! who cares! who cares if they change it every year for the rest of their lives! humans change. that's the only constant about us! why is it a bad thing, even taboo, to accept change and exploration within sexuality and gender specifically?
there's always so much shame that comes with someone realizing they were wrong, changing as a person, or discovering something new about themselves. i've seen people afraid to explore themselves more or afraid to talk about a change in identity, for fear of the queer community pushing back on them the same way they're afraid to come out to the cishets in their life who are trans/homophobic. that's just not fair that their own community can become hostile towards them, too. being in a closet within a bigger closet essentially. everyone is always told to figure it all out first before claiming an identity, because then you're locked in it for life, apparently. you can't change your mind after that. why though? what's the point of that really? why can't we embrace fluidity a bit more? why can't we accept that humans do change all the time? why is making and trying to prove that these identities are static/unchanging/innate the only way to validate them? why can't they just, I don't know, BE VALID. without reason. why must we jump through hoops to be valid when we should just automatically be valid because we are human. stop letting the cishets gatekeep everything, leading to us gatekeeping each other!
I am sometimes very hesitant to talk about my own identity. I identified as a gay/biromantic trans guy for like idk 8-10 years? transitioned and everything. then like a year or two ago, I realized/decided that doesn't fit right anymore. now i'm a nonbinary, but also kinda fluid, aroace person. sometimes I don't like to talk about that because of the stigma behind changing your gender/sexuality identities. but you know what. i'll talk about it anyway and people have to learn to accept it.
what were the consequences and bad parts about changing my mind/identity like that? none. absolutely none. (outside of people being weird about it for no reason) but the benefits are feeling more comfortable with myself, and that's no one else's business.

shit I forgot the topic! let's say malevolent for the hot take
aaahh trying to get me crucified i see /j
hmmm. hot take but I think that the current season is the weakest. it feels like its being pulled in too many directions. there are a lot of interesting plot threads (larson, the butcher, daniel, scratch, john's deal, the cult, etc) and while many of them are related and will probably resolve in an interconnected way, there are still too many and I think the show is not giving any of them enough attention and weight

My takeaway from the quotes in the new art book is that the writers agree that the royal trio was the best part. Ok cool. THEN WHY DIDNT WE GET MORE OF THEM

im getting tired of people acting like someone using anti tags are dramatic or chronically online, i mean some people may be but not all of them
if you want to talk shit about something use: the anti tags
if you want to talk about how much you love a thing: use the pro tags or the normal fandom tags
that way people can filter out what they do or dont like
do not post things you like in the anti tags and do not post things you hate in the pro tags
if you want to talk shit about people who use anti tags: DONT USE THE ANTI TAGS
if you are going to complain about people tagging incorrectly AND THEN DONT TAG CORRECTLY IM GOING TO EAT YOUR KNEES
also if you like something but then keep going in the anti of that thing please stop and just block the tag dont try and debate people who use the tag you're not going to change their mind there's a reason why they're posting in that tag
btw if you see a random anti post out in the wild that isnt tagged properly you have full right to get upset, im just asking for yall to not just go in the anti-tags to complain use the General tags or the pro-tags instead
(sorry if this comes off as rude or harsh im just annoyed with how often this happens)

Of the firm belief that of course there's no shame in having a phobia, but there is shame in those who do not find issue with not working away from said phobia.
If you're arachnophobic, i understand, i get it, but if you think you can go through life without experiencing A Spider you're sorely mistaken. So you should take measures to be sure that you can perform as well as possible when facing your phobia.
I have a phobia of adult praying mantises and have long since hated that i found them so disturbing for seemingly no reason, since i knew they're great for natural pest control. Due to the kind of person i am, i recently was given a hatching egg sack of... So. So many praying mantises. I had the chance to say no to it. I took the initiative to work on myself and raise them in hopes it would help my phobia.
I'm not saying everyone who has a snake phobia should go pick up a snake and befriend it, or those with phobias of heights need to go skydiving. But a phobia is a condition, and should be something you work on. It's an explanation of your behavior, but not an excuse. A phobia is a chance to learn how to better understand the world you live in, not shut it out.

Unpopular opinion: Giving Lizzie the canary curse or some new bird curse is really annoying. Most of the fandom gave Jimmy the curse after Double life because he died first THREE TIMES IN A ROW. Lizzie who's only played 2/5 times just had unfortunate deaths. Hell she would of gone far in last life if it weren't for bdubs killing her so he could come yellow. Why give her the canary curse when she's only died first once??? Unless she dies first again why give her a curse?
I guess it's harmless fun but guys, the curse was created because Jimmy kept dying, he didn't get it in third life -_-
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
listen i do first need to correct you on one point: canary jimmy came from last life, all the og posts about it were from like late 2021 and i know people who kicked that off asfgemkg but otherwise YEAH lizzie is. not a canary. its not just ''dying first'' its your death signalling the downward spiral of the series, every time.
i would actually argue that secret life jimmy still carries the curse in some form, as he was the first to die during the chaos of the wither v warden fight which has kind of torn the server to shreds, and i can bet that session 7 is gonna get more deadly. lizzies death is poetic because it ISNT a warning, it isnt a curse, it was a horrible mishap that most of the server was fully ready to brush past like it didnt happen. there were cheers that lizzie died, because it meant jimmy didnt die first, and thats tragic in its own way, ykno?

okay i think this is about to be an unpopular opinion but…. these two are like 2 sides of the same coin to me. beyond the shared public safety allegiance, they both violate denji's autonomy (yoshida stripping him to his underwear, tying him up, and threating his family in chapter 132 vs fumiko assaulting him in the movie theater in chapter 136) and work against his own best interest for the sake of the government. however, while they both take action in trying to force denji to do what they want, fumiko takes a more directly active role in the space of the fanatic who can't see/ doesnt care about the human behind her idol, whereas yoshida takes the more passive role of the government drone who wont act to protect the human if it means going against orders. in previous chapters, fumiko actively runs away from denji, leaving him to fight for himself, while yoshida passively tells denji that he isnt allowed to protect himself, putting him in harms way in his own right (and there is still the underlying threat of violence there if he tries to protect himself). even in the panels from this chapter, we see fumiko being active about her disregard for denji's well being by asking for little pieces of him, where yoshida is more passive in his disregard of the plan to dismember denji with a simple "yeah" answer. i know that they also have their differences, but i just think that they share intentional similarities (that other characters, particularly in the chainsaw man church, also share!!) that overall lead to denji getting hurt.

people who single out marauders fan artists like likeafunerall and blame them for feminizing sirius need to chill the fuck out and take a break from the internet. there's currently a tiktok going around with some unpopular (and valid) marauders opinions, one of them being something along the lines of "I prefer masc Sirius! " which AGAIN is very very valid. what ISNT however are the comments going absolutely insane over fem Sirius and blaming individual artists for ruining Sirius, as if seeing him as a short long haired guy had ruined their perception of him forever. I'm just wondering if theyre aware that. that's. transphobia. like standard definition of transphobia. "Sirius cant be a woman theyre making wolfstar look like a straight couple" ARE YOU LISTENING TO YOURSELF? they claim to be inclusive and woke but their acceptance stops at anything beyond two white twinks kissing. and it SUCKS bc the "fanon vs canon marauders" discussion can very much feel like a fight between two sides and it's just a fact that a majority of these transphobic assholes is on "my side" (preferring canon over fanon). Ik that this is mostly owed to the fact that the fandom is GIGANTIC and parted into many sub fandoms and I used to be fine with that but it's gotten to the point where I feel like I need to clarify my position every time I interact with people within the fandom "yes I prefer canon over fanon, no i do not ship jegulus, yes I enjoy wolfstar a moderate amount, no I do not like the fanon version of wolfstar, yes I enjoy masc sirius, NO I AM NOT A TRANSPHOBE" to me, it has started to feel like theres almost nothing in-between thinly veiled misogyny ("remus is a casanova, sirius is 5'6, sirius needs remus help with studying") and thinly veiled transphobia ("sirius needs to be 6'4 and super masc and anything else isnt valid") and its starting to get me wondering why i am even still caring about this dumpster fire
There is a lot to unpack.
Individual artists and writers should not be blamed for something being popularized that is not canon. Individual creators should never be harassed or sent anything hate-like. Never.
There are two problems. One is fem!Sirius written in a misogynistic way where Sirius' "fem" traits are associated with misogynistic portrayals of women. Stupid, airheaded, need man to function, "hysterical," "dramatic." You get it. Sirius can be a woman, can be transfem, but Sirius is not stupid, airheaded, helpless, "hysterical" in canon.
The second problem. If Sirius is transfem Sirius should still be Sirius. Intelligent, loyal, quick-witted, cutting, intense. Those are not gendered traits. They can be for everyone. Sirius likes motorbikes. Likes creating things. Likes taking risks.
When some people see fem!Sirius art and also see misogynistic takes on fem!Sirius in fic, tumblr, tiktok they combine the two. Fem!Sirius as art or concept not the problem. Fem!Sirius where Sirius is nothing like canon and is only negative misogynistic stereotypes, that is the problem. That is more common nowadays.
If you want to write canon Sirius as transfem, OK. But make MtF Sirius with canon personality. As far as I know being transgender makes your personality shine better because you can be who you really are. If canon Sirius is written as transfem then canon Sirius personality should shine more?
So it is not the concept of fem!Sirius that is the problem. It is the execution. To me fem!Sirius should be similar to Bellatrix but fighting for good and not prejudiced. Canon Bellatrix is a formidable witch. Transfem Sirius would be also.
