Depending on whether Hob's bet happened before or after The First Despair died (bc,,,, I don't think they mention it and if they did je ne cannot remember MSNDAMWNDMWANDS) IT CAN BE TWO DIFFERENT FLAVOURS OF ANGST </3

on one hand, if Hob's bet happened AFTER Despair 1's death, Desire now has to realize after all this time that their sister :

had the ability to just. Not Let Someone Die, with few to no long term consequences.

had the ability to save your twin and did nothing.

like imagine the. absolute SHIFT of perception they'd have of Death. OUCH.

AND IF HOB'S BET HAPPENED BEFORE DESPAIR'S DEATH, Desire had to experience the death of their twin WITH THE KNOWLEDGE ALREADY IN MIND that she has saved mortals for less. for nothing. Going through the process of Despairs death, the mourning and the reconstruction knowing that their sister could have prevented it.

LIKE BOTH OPTIONS ARE SO GOOD AND I JUST. </3 YOUCH.

GOD and imagine how angry they must have been at Destiny?? Imagine finding out your eldest brother KNEW that your twin was going to die and said nothing. Even if rationally, Desire knows that Destiny can't interfere with how things are gonna play out, there's no way they didn't feel at least a little (lot) betrayed.

fallout tv show ghoul discussion

the only thing i dislike about the show is their retcon of ghoul lore- everything else is a banger i had a great time but the lore changing the ghouls baffles me, as it retcons and changes literally every other game in the franchise. its funny, im not mad about it, im ok with the show having different lore than the games. i just hope they make it clear that its an AU kind of thing haha mainly because if someone gets introduced to the series from the show, and they go off to play the games, theyre going to be confused. so, what are the changes? well-

in fo3, theres an entire side mission involving the underworld, where the ghouls there really hammer in that the rumors like; that they regen and so can only be killed by headshots, that they eat people, that they can go feral at any point, and that they're zombies.

all of this is just propaganda spread by the brotherhood and bigots to justify murder and genocide.

none of it is true. they bleed and die like anyone else. but in the show, these things are not rumors, and they are completely true. cooper constantly has to take this drug from a vial that prevents him from going feral. theres no explanation on where this medicine came from, who makes it, whats its made out of, etc.

so, while in the game, turning feral is unknown, seemingly at random (theories range from genetics, lack of socialization, insanity, radiation exposure, and time) and ghouls dont just- randomly turn feral. but in the show its enevitable and therefore the hate towards them is justified. the only things that are special about them is that they; age much, much slower than non-ghouls, that they can heal faster using radiation. (to my knowlege, they still need to be patched up. they do not just regen. they can still get shot to death, or maimed. they just heal a little faster.) and they need more potent drugs, as it doesnt affect them as strongly (mentioned in fo3 by some ghouls in a subway) the changes made in the show heavily changes the stories of a few characters and places in the entire series.

for fo3: changes the entire underworld. these ghouls cannot leave this place. if they do, they're shot and killed immediately by the brotherhood nearby. they discuss how they're discriminated against. in the fo3 dlc, point lookout, the ghoul there presumably hasnt left the manor he lives in for well over 200 years. he wouldnt have access to these vials. tenpenny tower. their ban on ghouls would be justified then. the entire narrative involving the water purifier and putting the serum in that will kill off all mutants. with the changes the show makes, the decision whether or not you do this has no weight and eradicating mutants becomes justified. for fallout new vegas: dean domino. he hasn't left the Sierra Madre in over 200 years. he wouldnt have access to these vials either and would have probably gone feral a long time ago. for fallout 4: diamond city. diamond city's ban on ghouls wouldnt be an issue anymore. since in the show, ghouls cant die aside from headshots, the ghouls being thrown out into the wastes to the elements wouldn't really be as heavy of an issue.

(i cannot comment for fallout 1 and 2, as i am not as knowledgable about the ghouls in those two games. feel free to add on in reblogs if you know more about them than i do)

i love the show, i think its awesome. im basically consuming it now with the idea that its canon -within its own story and lore- and is separate from the game itself. cooper is a badass and the changes work for the show itself, not so much the entire series. which is fine in my eyes.

do you think mac and charlie have ever been sat together getting high looking at the stars or just chilling together or whatever. do you think mac always wants to talk about his queer identity. hes always so desperate to be seen, to be heard, to be understood in his own way.

i think charlie would be hesitant. every time mac wants to talk about how he feels in relation to his identity, charlies always shutting it down. "no, dude, dont press that gay shit on me"

but like. mac wears charlie down eventually. keeps insisting on wanting to speak about it, to use charlie as a wall to bounce feelings and thoughts off of. to find the correct words or mediums or images to understand himself better. to have his friends, his family, those he loves, to understand him better.

not to mention his best friend.

so charlie relents. "fine, fine, whatever. lets just get it over with"

and its a long talk. charlie listens for hours as mac explains his struggles with being a man, his self image, his relationship towards women, womanhood, femininity, masculinity, how confusing it all is. how weird it is to figure out what balance he is of what, how he relates to it all. how its such a struggle to just.... find his place.

and charlies really listening here- and theres some really potent stuff. like, yeah, all this stuff is confusing. whys mac bringing it up like its not supposed to be? is it not supposed to be confusing? are you not supposed to feel utterly baffled when youve been pushed to just sit down and think about why youre attracted to what. why you feel certain ways about certain things. why youre comforted by what youre comforted by. why youre made uncomfortable by so much normal stuff.

"isnt... everyone confused by stuff like that?" charlie asks, taking another huff of whatever near-lethal substance the two had gotten their hands on.

"are you?" mac returns.

"well- of course i am. its all so weird."

and theres a long pause between them. they both take a moment to get a couple more huffs in, and mac finally breaks the silence.

"i was always under the impression that people who werent gay never really thought about it."

"well- im not gay, and ive thought about it." of course charlies defensive. this is really vulnerable and sensitive stuff.

"well- sure. you might not be gay, but- i mean- the crossdressing thing man. cmon."

"thats not weird!" charlies hackles are immediately raised. "ive told you- i- i had a single mother, and-"

mac grabs charlies shoulders, looking into the brown eyes in front of him.

"im not saying its weird. i dont think its weird, charlie."

its another long moment of silence. charlie doesnt know how to respond, the world felt like it was crumbling a little.

too high for this.

"i- i guess-" macs voice was like a knife, the way it cut through the nightly city noise. "i just want you to know, that i think its okay, if its complicated for you, too. and that im not gonna be stupid and shame you for it being complicated."

another beat of silence, only broken by a car alarm going off in the far distance.

"i-... yeah. okay man, sure." charlie responds, simply relaxing into macs hold.

its a pretty quiet night, from then on, but it isnt like much needs to be said.

charlie can at least feel a little bit safer in her best friends arms.

I remember hearing a long time ago that the definition of a strong character is that you can describe them without mentioning their physical characteristics or job in the plot so here goes

Allison: adaptable, but never quite up to the task. capable of shocking displays of will. sometimes dangerously stupid. she’s allegedly the hero of the story but you never really get the sense she’s in her depth. theres always a part of her that reflects that she started this story as a philosophy major barista that suddenly got the true name of god jammed into her soggy mortal cranium. but she rises and grows into her inheritance of the infinite fire of creation.

White Chain: staid. precise. controlled. more than anything, demanding both of others and herself. shes uncomfortable in her own stony skin. she keeps an apartment and materials for making tea despite being a controlled nuclear explosion that walks like a person. she loves the world in a way thats odd for angels, and eventually is transubstantiates into mortal form through sheer exercise of will. there is simply no one that cares more about anything than White Chain. she spent thousands of years caring about the world even before she became human.

Cio: regretful. Cio held a fraction of the power of the demiurges in the palm of her hand once, and it turned her into a monster and she doesn’t want that again. shes a potent mage in her own right but she doesnt want to exert that power in public. she wants to be small and safe in the shadow of someone who can protect her while she just tends to her plants. much like White Chain is an anomaly of an angel, she’s an anomaly of a devil - absolutely no desire to dominate anyone. it ended very badly for her last time and she is in no hurry to repeat it. she just wants to be left alone to write her lurid books and garden

like after all that shite even tho it stretched him out like saltwater taffy naruto is truly not not not not mad at sasuke for any of it. he doesnt hold anything that sasuke did actually against him. in a technical sense hes like yeah you probably shouldntve killed those guys. but he fully blames sasukes circumstances and the pain that hes in for everything that he did. he cant stay mad at sasuke. rolls my eyes. cause he recognizes what drove sasuke to act the way he did and that the world is so so fucked and even if he should hold it against him naruto really does not want to he just wants his best friend back. sasuke tried to kill naruto because sasuke loves naruto and hates himself, and naruto recognizes that this is the reason. and that you have to be in so much pain to want to do that as badly as sasuke did, and he could feel it too every time he looked at sasuke or just thought about him he felt like he was being ripped in two. he realizes that sasuke has growing and learning and changing to do but he doesnt consider sasuke to have " put him through" anything like. naruto put himself through that and i think he'd be the first to tell that to you. im saving sasuke because i want to save him. that was the premise of the whole conversation with sakura in the land of iron like "why are you doing all this for sasuke" -> "because i want to". and i think if anyone tried to be like look what he put you through!!! he'd rip them a new one. which i mean a bunch of people sayig that to him is what pushed him over the edge in such a fashion that seeing sasuke face to face and swearing to die alongside him was the only thing that could bring him back from the brink.

anyways i just do not think sakura has the bandwidth (understandably) for that perspective considering i dont think she feels like she's choosing to go after sasuke in the same way that naruto does. and its not rightreally to call it a choice because obviously he doesnt get in bed every night and be like tonight i will think about sasuke and feel like im dying over and over again, but he decided to. this is two different posts but im stream of consciousnessing it into one. he very distinctly decided not to give up on sasuke i mean there was like. literally the scene where jiraiya was like drop it its not worth it go after your dream only a fool would keep going after sasuke now. and naruto says if thats what a fool is then ill be a fool my whole life. gag. anyways. obviously sakura wants to help sasuke 10000% she wants to help naruto she wants him back she wants the old team 7 back she loves sasuke etc im not trying to say none of that is true, but i dont think she feels like she is quite as active an agent in that decision as naruto does. while naruto thinks theyre on the same page about wanting to save sasuke because they both love him, sakura is quite quick to believe that naruto wants to save sasuke because HE feels obligated. she gets fed up with him for choosing sasuke every time over and over no matter what, she's sick of it! she cant do it anymore! she decides to kill sasuke because she feels driven into a corner, she feels like she has to because she DOES CARE ABOUTHIM and theres NOTHING ELSE FOR HER TO DO. SHE FEELS LIKE SHE HAS TO. ALSO part of her resolve to kill him is that she feels guilty for leaning on naruto so mcuh and relying on him to fix things, so she wants to deal with this situation for both of them which makes this like. very potently an obligation for her. she is killing him as (in her eyes) a noble act. she's tired bro SHES TIRED!

she drops it because naruto gives her hope that theres another way, not because she shares naruto's refusal to accept that there ISNT another way; she has to be shown what it is (understandably so, narutos route is bonkers insane that boy is unwell.) she has absolutely been put through the wringer BY sasuke more than naruto has (in terms of their own povs; in actuality idk im not commenting on that) and chasing after him feels less like an active choice on her part and more of an obligation to the memory of the old team 7, especially in the tail end of shippuden. and again she doesnt understand why sasuke acted the way that he did like naruto does, so immediately the room for understanding is way more narrow on her end in terms of blaming his circumstances rather than him. so for her to be not really able to stand him and way less quick to drop it all, in comparison to naruto, makes soooo so soosoo much more sense than whatever the fuck happens actually. she should be so mad

so loyalty leash au obvs starts of with just teh twins being awsome and wipeing teh floor with 12, because fuck you i gave them their mystic bullshit and i cant fucking get over how bad teh 12 animation is so i have to make fun of it, love it to bits, grew up on it, but othe rthen mikey they all fight so stiff and awkward and raph and donnie dont even use their WEPONS CORRECTLY- anyway the is pointing out how hurt and fucked up both teh groups are, 12 with their poor communication skills and rise with, just all the codependency and abandonment issues, but then theres going to be a healing arc! the following is teh genrel concept for that, so potently spoilers.

12 don figures out hes actually really fucking awesome, pulling doubt duty with jobs the rise crew split between twins, and teh rise crew learns from him healthy work life boundrys, what happens in teh labs stays in teh labs you too, leon stop takeing your notes to your room don stop trying to work in bed, just because you have a better sleep squdual then him dosent mean you get to have your projects scattered everywhere-

12 raph finaly getting his anger issues figured out, learning how to tell when everythinsg become too much and how to hold back his hits so the worst he does is shoulder checks and some barbs, then teh rise crew learning from him how to slow down and just enjoy little shit, like a good game or a few moments with loved ones

12 mikey finally learning how to get his words out in a way that understood haveing four other kids in the family who are finnaly nerudivergnt in a way thats compadable with his, learning better hwo to bite back and how to establish firm boundrys, but then teh rise crew learning from him to trust again, to put their faith in peopel again

12 leo learning hes more then a leader refinding who the hell he is outside of the misson, him descovering what made him a good leader in the first place, him relearning how to care and worry and then the rise crew finally being praised in a way their brains cant twist into something awfull, being told tehy did good because sure their dad tells them and all teh humans do, but its so easy to take their tone and manipulate it into something crule, they cant with thsi oteh rleo, hes to kind, to sincere

Previous Chapter /part 6 How she was saved. Part 7

WARNINGS: 18+ Just incase. Have tissues on hand.. There's kidnapping, being held captaive heartbreak angst, depression probably some type of psychological thing besides depression going on because she is has been alone for months, she's very upset so it could be triggering for anyone a tiny bit of fluff if you squint but another of angst and heart break maybe disillusioned, tons of confusion. And fear. Theres fighting. Avengers are flightly, bloodshed people being knocked out gas causing confusion guns and gunfire i think thats litterly everything

Nat and Steve were at the only 2 exists/entrances to the facility while Clint was on top. He let a few Stark Drones Carrying in the gas while Nat and Steve were at each door ready to open them and throw in canisters they held.

Wearing clear and lighweate gas masks S.H.I.E.LD. developed Steve, Nat and Clint were able to move through thr facility with ease while it incapacitated the enemy.

It wasnt as big as they anticipated. But as Steve and nat moved through the building they both stopped at opposite ends of a large medical room. It looked sterile, for surgeries and a chair that could be held to tie someone down. But it was empty of people. After a quick glance at eachother they both continued on thier way.

Steve was getting close to her first he knew that the minute a bullets rang out. The gas was fairly potent but Steve didn't know what or who they were shooting at so he ran in with the shild just under his eyes. It only took a few seconds to incompacitate the men then he found the door it had a slant on the bottom and mirrors to see inside on the inside. He saw her cowering on the side. His mind immediately went back to when she said she was terrified watching a horror movie and curled up on Steve. She had looked up for a moment and she was so.....

He bust the door down quickly.

"I'm here to help."

"Nat I found her. She's... I gotta get the mask on her." he pulled her into his arms but she went to fight.

"It's ok it's ok its me I'm taking you home sweetheart. It's going to be ok you need to put this mask ok."

She fought against him.

"Its ok, hey I won't hurt you I swear you're ok."

It was like he said nothing nothing and his words kept being met by pleas of terror. Steve said he'd be on his way one he got thrmask on her.. She finally calmed down when he had said, "it's me my love. I've come to take you home." And he caressed her cheek.

He knew then she wasn't completely lost to anyone. She was still in there. Whatever they had done. His strong sweet girl was still in there. He knew if anyone could survive this she could. If anyone could survive... whatever anyone did to her she'd survive, and he would kill whoever touched her. But that was for another day.

Steve said he'd be on his way one he got the mask on her but she was fighting him. His little fighter well not little but he was proud of her

"Hey its me, my love, I've come to take you home." She relaxed again,

"I need too put this on you before we can go home."

"Home?"

"Yea love home."

She let him put the mask on her.

"Ok babe i need to hold you and run ok. I'll keep you safe, I swear love, you'll be safe."

Steve held her tightly, closely. He knew he wouldn't get these moments for much longer not unless she took him back but he knew the only way to to that was to prove himself to her. But in love or not he never let a civilian get hurt on his watch, he wasn't going to start with her.

"We're on our way out."

Clint was on the roof taking out any who were making a run for it.

"Copy cap its all clear out here."

"I'll meet you at the front door" Nat replied

They took her back to the quinn jet.

She was shaking scared confused out of her mind. But she relaxed in Steve's arms. On one hand Natasha was happy for Steve that he had these moments. She saw little glimpses oh what made them work. But on the other hand Nat saw her student who had grown so much and grown into her friend, who had admitted to being terrified of her ex and who ran. But the most important thing was comfort. She was held in a cell for more than 60 days had relaxed only when she was in his arms and rested only after the said the same words . It was like she was sliding in and out and his voice his words pulled her back.

Yesterday I learnt more about our terrifying little friends, honey badgers. So here are some facts that explains why these guys are classed as one of the most fearless/dangerous animals known to mankind

Here's a pic of the cute little bastard:

Honey badgers can TURN THEIR ANUS INSIDE OUT and shoot foul liquid that is just as potent as that of a skunk. This vile, corrosive liquid is used as a defense against predators, to mark territory, and to intimidate competitors.

The anus turning and the stench usually scares away the predator, but if not, their skin is loose enough so that it's able to twist around and bite its attacker with these chompers:

There is almost no safe place to hold a Honey Badger without it being able to attack its attacker.

There are recorded incidents of fights with lions and Cape buffalo resulting in the attackers death through blood loss, after the Honey badger ripped off their genitals.

Over a lifetime, honey badgers develop a sort of immunity to venom which makes it possible for them to hunt down and eat venomous reptiles.

Theres this one honey badger, whose name is Stoffel and lives in the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in South Africa, who REPEATEDLY escaped from his enclosure to attack lions in the nearby area. The lions attacked Stoffel in self-defence and Stoffel had to be hospitalized. As soon as he was discharged from the hospital, he once more broke out of his enclosure and attacked the lions. The people working at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center kept trying to put Stoffel in different cages with more and more security but somehow he kept escaping and attacking other animals. I highly recommend wathing this video of stoffel on one of his escape missions because these animals are SMART.

Like, these animals are SMART smart. Researchers have tested honey badgers intelligence by tests involving puzzle boxes that require a sequence of actions to open the door. The honey badgers passed all these tests with amazing scores! In one of these tests food was placed in a box suspended from a tree so that the honey badgers could not access it directly from the ground. They could only get to the box by dragging a nearby tractor tire or their cage underneath the box whereupon they could stand up and reach the food inside. If they could accomplish this, it would demonstrate their ability to use tools. The honey badgers did indeed succeed by dragging their cage under the box and reaching the food inside.

With the knowledge that honey badgers are able to use tools, they are ranked alongside some of the most intelligent and innovative creatures in the animal kingdom, such as chimpanzees and elephants and this intellect gives honey badgers a great advantage in competing with other animals in the wild. Their intelligence is frequently interpreted as calculated and cunning, but, as we have seen, it is more than that. They are among the world’s smartest creatures!

That concept is so cool!! Can you tell me more about the dynamics? (Like what are the specific differences that made you classify Sabito as alpha prime instead of just alpha?)

When you say the Primes effect more and are effected more than the others what exactly do you mean?

Do you become a Prime when you take on a certain roll in your pack or is it just a option during the initial presenting event?

Are Primes like a subsection of their dynamic or are they a whole new one? (3 broad dynamics society vs 5 specific dynamics society)

ok important distinction to get out of the way first- i see a/b/o as terms to describe phenomena, not strict definitions people fall into. i dont like omegaverse things like that bc 1 i love biology & speculative evolution and through that lens it makes absolutely 0 fucking sense to me and 2 i dont like omegaverse basically being reduced to sexism 2.0 with submissive feminine omegas, dominant masculine alphas, and boring betas.

i completely understand and see the appeal in traditional a/b/o but i also think its severely limiting

to answer your questions off the bat:

sabito as an alpha prime mostly just bc i really really like giving him big/visible fangs and that influenced some worldbuilding choices lmao

imagine having ur senses turned up 200%. theyre just as affected by a drop of pheromones as normal dynamics are a litre. theyre way more sensitive to others' and their own is far more potent

theres no 'presenting event' either you stay not very reactive to pheromones(beta) you start reacting to pheromones normally(alpha/omega) or you start to be fuck-off sensitive to pheromones(a/o prime) (ppl dont choose or get assigned a secondary dynamic its just something that Happens and a/b/o are terms used to describe wide trends)

its still 3 broad dynamics, primes are considered a sub-category/more specific variant of alpha/omega

mmm, id say overall theyre pretty much the same? rengokus & mitsuri are closer-knit, tengen and them kinda make a trio, sabito's almost part of the mini-group(The Loud Ones)- sanemi and obanai still dislike giyuu, now its got an added 'omega has his alpha wrapped around his finger and makes him do the dirty work instead' bc he never bothers to defend himself from them so sabito steps up and tells them to fuck off- then theres the obvious kamado situation. sabito's neutral abt them after he gets over his initial anger but cmon. its tanjiro. youre not staying neutral for long. giyuu more protective of them from the get-go

secondary dynamics arent dependent on sex, theyre two separate spectrums and secondary dynamics are Secondary

secondary dynamics start to develop with puberty, not really finished until somewhere in 20s

you cant tell what someone's secondary dynamic will be until it starts to present

betas are the hardest to tell bc sometimes ppl are just late bloomers, late20s-30s and they still dont react to scents very strongly or havent had a heat/rut theyre probably a beta

betas still smell scents but arent sensitive to pheromones and their own arent very strong either, some can have mini-heats or ruts. overall if theyre not very reactive to scents and they dont have noticeable fangs or any changes to their reproductive organs theyre considered a beta

alphas and omegas have stronger scents (a beta would need to be actively projecting their scent to be on the same level as alpha/omega's baseline) and are sensitive to pheromones.

secondary dynamics influence sex but are not influenced by sex; males who are omegas can develop female reproductive systems and females who are alphas can develop male reproductive systems. this results in tons of possible combinations, though not everything /works/ since they'd need the matching internal & external parts to actually reproduce.

with male omegas/female alphas; commonly, either the secondary reproductive system doesnt develop at all or the secondary external develops alongside the original*. less commonly the secondary external develops and the original internals swap to the secondary. very rarely the secondary will fuck up the original internals and make someone sterile. very VERY rarely will someone develop both original and secondary reproductive systems that are fully functional

main biggest difference between alphas and omegas is mostly in whether they have a heat(& nest) or a rut(& claim territory)

heats typically start off with some warning signs before the actual heat kicks in(preheat) omegas will start to be clingy and seek safety/closeness with their pack for a few days, along with starting to give off a heat scent. omegas usually dont smell their own heat scent until its already pretty strong(closer to heat) so others around them usually notice the scent first. heat hits with a full body fever for a day or two, its extremely uncomfortable and usually omegas drop out of coherency. behind the scenes all kinds of reward chemicals and other important stuff in the brain are thrown way out of wack- no one really notices that tho bc theyre usually blearily rolling around suffering through a mind-numbing fever. after it abates theyre left with the still fucky brain balance and dont really get back all the coherency they lost from the fever, still a little out of it for the whole duration of heat. theyre more sensitive to changes in their emotions and more sensitive to physical contact, heats in their usual state are non-sexual and an omega simply seeks security affection and comfort from their pack. excessively negative emotions caused by lack of security or comfort can cause an omega to be extremely panicky/depressive/aggressive (borderline feral) and its not fun for anyone involved. the omega going through it is overrun with negative thoughts/feelings/emotions and the scent of an omega going through a disruptive heat is especially nauseating & discomforting to anyone around (an intense need to Fix It and make the omega feel better). on the flip-side, omegas being more sensitive to emotion and physical contact can lead to a state of near constant euphoria/ecstasy in sexual heats between mates (the more traditional version of heat)

omegas will go into heat in the presence of another omega's heat if they are emotionally connected (family, pack, friends, etc) and an omega's heat can cause an alpha to start their rut (& vice-versa ruts causing heats)

ruts cause a similar fucky brain balance but not nearly to the same degree as heats, alphas will seek out affection and their instinct to protect is sent into absolute overdrive. mother hen x500. it causes them to be a lot more agitated which leads to more aggression bc more things are seen as a threat.

sexual ruts with mates sends their instinct to make sure the other IS and feels safe/good into overdrive and They Will Not Leave Their Mate

nesting is the usual find soft things make comfy/safe bed/area for pack and is extremely personal/fiercely defended from those who its not meant for; claiming territory is a wider application of 'make area feel comfy/safe for pack' alphas will patrol or steak out vantage points of their selected territory, like omegas they also dont take kindly to intruders**

alphas are built a bit more for power and tend to be offensive/face confrontation head-on(make opponent lose ground, get threats as far away from my pack as possible); while omegas are built a bit more for speed/agility and tend to be defensive/run loops around confrontations(dont let opponent gain any ground, keep threats from getting any closer to my pack) its not solid evidence when trying to tell someone's dynamic off it alone because people's natural variation is so wide and people's experiences can change how theyd react to stress and such so its usually ignored but trends Can be seen

*giyuu's like that male omega has both parts externally but no uterus so. no mpreg for him</3

**it can be kinda subtle sometimes, one example ive posted is sabito physically situating himself so hes between his pack(giyuu/tanjiro/nezuko) and the threat (sanemi/rest of the hashira)

Owl house ocs, headcannons, and lore; Of bilesacks and magic

Finally writing my own hcs and lore for my owl house ocs, since I've been busting out their designs and tired of pulling "*doesnt elaborate on their lore*" joke everytime I post them. So, now I'm swallowing my shame, and posting this! There's a lot... of stuff.. and I think one of the main reasons I was scared that some of them may not... fit as owl house ocs... idk yk? Like that's dumb because they're all witches and abide the owl house stuff

However before I get into the actual characters, I need to explain this little concept that I made a few months back! Its fairly self indulgent and self.. projected..? Basically the "authors health stuff meets their love of magic and shape shifters"

Anyways

Onto this post's topic, which is a bilesack condition? Disorder? Disease? Imma be real I'm *very* bad with remembering the differences and how to label so bare with me

The reason I'm talking about this before any characters is because well. Some of the ocs in question have this, and for some, it's a large part of their lore

Now I'm probably not the first person to come up with this tbh, but, at least I can have my own spin on it.

We all know that a witch's magic comes from their bilesack, a sack-like organ that's attatched to the heart. It makes fluids that, in some way, can be used to cast spells

But what if the bilesack cannot produce magic properly? What if the fluids were different? What if it produced too much? Too little? And what would be the effects of that?

Well, if you give that concept to someone like me; a little goober with issues with my own organs and a lover of magic, and having some stronk escapism stuff; this is my personal answer

And yes, I admit, for one of the types ot behaves similarly to Eda's curse. But that's gonna be elaborated on later.

There are three types of this bilesack condition, as references to the questions above; and there are various different tools and treatments for.. at least two of the three types. I'm still thinking of a name for all this so, yeah.

These conditions are typically life long, and can vary from witch to witch. It also effects demons, as we know that they also have bilesacks.

There are different symptoms, side effects, and warning signs each type uniquely have, and some each type shares. It is typically genetic, and can hide in families unnoticed for years before becoming active; it can show up at any time in the witch's life. Unfortunately this is a lesser known condition, and it's not uncommon for it to be mistaken for a curse, especially in the case of Type B

Type A

Type A refers to when the bilesack does not produce enough fluids. Of course, the magic a witch has relies on said fluids; and this is possibly the most tame and... mild... of the three types. This is because it impairs and limits the witch's ability to cast spells. Witches with Type A tend to have weaker or less potent magic, and in worse cases no magic. The main way to aid witches with Type A is through staffs; both real palismen and artificial staffs, as it acts as an outside source of power. Obviously, the witch can also use Glyphs, if they know of them and how they work.

Type B

Type B is the opposite of Type A, but can have more dire affects and really gives off the "this is vaguely based off edas curse" energy. Type B happens when the bilesack produces too much magic fluid. So their magic can sometimes be too much to control, depending on the severity. In worse cases one of two things happen;

Either the witch's body will be wrecked from the inside out if the bile gets out of control, the amount of raw power burning their bodies. Very nasty stuff.

Or, in an attempt to save their body and burn the magic, their body will shift and transform into a large beast. It's a horrible but swift transformation that buys the witch some time to stabilize themselves. If they cannot stabilize, then the above will happen. Similarly to Eda's curse, they lose themselves when they change. Unfortunately, due to the fact the witch transforms, it's comminly mistaken as a curse. As elixirs have magic inside them, and the witch already has too much magic, it'll be like throwing water on a grease fire; disastrous.

In worst cases where a witch has transformed but stabilized, the beast-like form can be permanent. In even rarer cases witches have gotten stuck as they changed between forms.

It should also be noted that the transformation is involuntary, and the witch cannot control it. It has also been noted that stress, anxiety, adrenaline, and other similar.. stimulants... can push the bilesack to produce fluid, raising the chance for a transformation to occur.

Common ways to keep control of Type B is to find ways to regulate magic, and eliminate potential triggers. Common ways of regulation include:

1; increasing spell casting, effectively expelling the extra fluid

2; using outside tools that suck and drain magic when it begins to rise in level. We know that draining magic is possible; through basilisks and the draining spell. So, I've combined this idea (albeit at a smaller scale) with the concealment stones. Usually these tools are hidden as jewelry; from rings to earrings to necklaces and bracelets. The actual thing that drains the magic are these removable stones that can be replaced and reused. When dry, or empty, they are dull and colorless. When they collected the magic and hit their max capacity, they gain color and can glow (usually in the color of the witch's magic).

A cool thing about a filled stone is that it can also be used as a small power source! ....surely this won't be used to weave in some extra messed up belos bits should I make an au where this stuff exists in TOH universe and I interweave it into the au..

Type C

Type C refers to when the fluids inside the bilesack have a different composition compared to other bilesack fluids. While this typically is paired with a Type A or B, it can exist in it's own. It needs to also be said that types A and B can also exist on their own with C. However A and B cannot be seen in the same witch at the same time; hoping that makes sense.

Back to Type C, because the fluids in the sack are different it can lead to magic mishaps where spells can be corrupted or mixed up. Similar to Type A, this one can be more tame and calm. But also, similarly to Type B, it can be just as disastrous based on severity. For some witches it can be harmless mixups, and for others it can be dire. Although, to be fair, even a small mistake can be dangerous depending on the situation.

It can approached like the other types; through staffs and draining stones. But it can also be worked through with the witch learning how their magic works and "correcting" their casting methods.

Basically: if the recipe for a smoothie makes a smushie, then you use the recipe when you want the slushie.

If the spell to make light makes ice, then you use that spell to make ice when you need it

Though it should be noted that this isn't a perfect solution for all spell castings or for all witch's

Characteristics of each type

A common trait each type has is that the witch who actively has the condition has delays in their magic development. They're late bloomers. However not all late bloomers have this condition; but all who have this condition are late bloomers. Usually their magic can be delayed until as old as 11, before coming in as normal. Depending on genetics and severity will dictate how their body will react when the condition becomes active. It should also be said that it's genetic, and can be "dormant" in a witch, sometimes never becoming active. That's another reason it's not too well known in canon or seen as common; while a witch may carry the genetics for it to occur, it doesn't always actually happen and show

Type A doesn't have many physical/visible bits, but those with it have chronic fatigue. This is due to, well, the fact they don't have much magic. I base this one on the conditions of those attacked by the basilisks in "The First Day". On top of that they tend to have hypersomnia, and moderate pain

Type C follows similar patterns to A, but generally does not have any unique characteristics outside of the magic mixups

Type B, however, is very different from the other two types, especially when the witch has experienced a beast transformation. Before we get to that; Type B is also commonly associated with sleep issues, arthritis, fatigue. Those who have transformed before tend to have these issues amplified, especially immediately following a transformation. They also show physical traits from their beast form in their normal form after they've shifted. Think of them as "scars". It can be anything from:

Horns and/or antlers

Tails

Claws

Fangs

Fins

In VERY rare cases, wings

Discolored patches of skin

Discolored hair (commonly white)

Patches of fur, scales, or feathers, depending on their beast form

Discolored eyes

Usually they start out with few and minor traits, but it can build up if they continue to transform and revert. Discolored patches of skin or eyes can be just about any color, but usually (not always) reflect the witch's magic color in varying levels of brightness and saturation

That's really about it, but this will probably be changed and edited as I develop this idea more, but! Yeah! I really want to talk about my owl house ocs, but I know none of it will make sense if I don't tackle this stuff first! So! When I do finally get to talking about the actual characters, you guys can refer back to this when it's relevant

DIMENSION : ANSWER (+ DILEMMA) | tamed-dashed definitely isn't my favorite enha title ever, but blessed-cursed definitely is (or its one of them anyway), and since these albums both have some of my favorite ever enha b-sides (and enha songs in general) with answer being a repackage, i figured i could just join them! attention, please and go big or go home are two of my top songs off any enha album ever, and THEN answer added polaroid love, my top ever soft enha song, into the mix-- so yes, answer is definitely favorite album material! (i would have felt a little guilty putting dilemma lower JUST because of t-d when several of my favorite tracks would not exist without it KSGDJFH). the actual song aside, though, the CONCEPT of tamed-dashed and all the promotions, teasers, concept photos and etc before it were absolutely stunning (and i do still like tamed-dashed a lot-- it just ranks fairly low among the other enha titles)

BORDER : CARNIVAL | ABSOLUTE queen. not only does this album have drunk-dazed (my other top enha tt) as a title track, it has fever, not for sale, mixed up, AND one of the sickest enha concepts to date (that mv??? PLEASE.). this is a particularly potent one for me as it's when i really got into enhypen-- when i was really active in the community, when everyone was coming up with so many crazy theories about the lore and writing out equally-crazy "what-ifs".

BORDER : DAY ONE | honestly just a really gorgeous debut. i loved given-taken, and i loved let me in, 10 months, and flicker just as much. i feel like this era has gotten king of forgotten/overshadowed with everything enhypen has come out since then (which. valid), but it was such a nice intro to enhypen's whole deal (spoken affectionately)!

MANIFESTO : DAY 1 | still a fairly new era, so i might feel a bit different after letting it marinate a bit. this is, similar to something i mentioned in a previous ask for this ask game, yet another instance of me adoring literally every track in an album except for the title track. kpop. why. LDHFJFB i didnt hate future perfect or anything, but it felt significantly less... enhypen-y than usual. the b-sides, however? NOT SO. tfw and shout out very quickly climbed their way into my list of favorite ever enhypen songs along with foreshadow, and paradoxxx invasion, while less dramatically alternating to my life and mindset, was absolutely a bop. points deducted for not having shout out as the promoted bside tho (/j)

how i got into them:

i was on tumblr when, somehow, i followed one person who was in the "eggie family" (people watching i-land; called ourselves eggies because that entrance dome thing was shaped like an egg LMAO) and suddenly i was friends with like all of them. i wanted to be in on the i-land fun and i thought sunghoon was incredibly pretty so i downloaded viki and started watching it HDJFHFJ (altho i never got passed episode 8 because my phone died </3). i watched them debut as enhypen with given-taken, which slapped, then stuck around kind of casually until border: carnival came around, at which point i did the engene equivalent of falling into the ocean and drowning when previously id sort of just been sitting on the peer with my feet in the water. i fell irreversibly in love with sunoo and have been stuck here ever since!

who would be my best friend:

sunoo probably, or maybe jungwon (i chose my biases in this group according to how friend-shaped they were apparently). jay and/or jake also seem like pretty good bestie material!

things i associate with them:

vampires (and also just supernatural stuff in general) because of their lore, for sure. theres also a good number of songs i associate with their lore counterparts due to the abundance of theorizing and writing that happened circa border: carnival HSJFHFJ

i love overwhelming and potent flavors that feel like being hit in the mouth so much and regardless of whether im going through a spicy, sour, or savory phase im always going to enjoy at least one of them. i love when theres just so much conflicting flavor and spices happening in something and when stuff im eating makes it feel like my mouth is melting or being eaten by acid

For context, I'm in the middle of The Son of Neptune which is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus series.

So far I have read The OG Percy Jackson series, The Kane Chronicles, The Lost Hero (Book 1 in HoO) and some of the extra side books. I have basically been trying to read everything roughly in chronological order.

Anyways! I'm just very pissed because I went into this endeavour of reading all these books because people RAVE about how much they love Percy Jackson and I was like ok I would like to understand what this is about.

So I read the Percy Jackson Series, and I really liked it! I do think if i was younger I would have enjoyed it more but I could definitely see why people enjoyed it. Its got the cool adventure, the jokes and the friendship.

Then. I read the Kane Chronicles. And by Jove. I wanted to love the books. Because while I liked Percy Jackson, most of the characters were white you know? And thats not the Worst thing. But the Kane Chronicles had the extra bit of diversity that I had kind of been missing (I could go into a huge rant about this but im just going to leave it at that, if anyone truly wants to hear more about it feel free to ask but this post isnt about that). Anyways! So I started optimistically, I liked the style of writing, I liked the Egyptian mythology, i really liked the characters! Especially that the main two were a sibling duo. I thought it was super fun. But the thing that genuinely sucked ALL the joy out of the series for me. Was the romance with Sadie, who starts the series being 12 and turns 13 in the second book, having a romance??? With??? A 16 (16!!!????) year old?????????????? It honestly made me hate the books, I couldnt enjoy them once that storyline started going (which mainly started in the second book and theres only 3 in the first place so 😐)

Anyways, I ended up semi-skim reading by the last book. I liked the plot mostly but the romance genuinely made me just want to get the book over and done with I hated it.

And then! I got onto Heroes of Olympus! (I Actually read The Lost Hero before the Kane chronicles because Chronology but anyways) So I start these books, and from what Little i know of the series, These books are the reason everyone loves Rick Riordans books so much. So i was excited! All I knew going into it was that people really like these books and that this is where Nico Di Angelo is featured a bit more (tbh thats more of an assumption, I just know people Really like him and while he was cool in the OG Percy Jackson books he was hardly there).

So here innocent little me goes, I read the Lost Hero and I loved it! I loved the characters, Piper, Jason and especially! Leo ❤️❤️❤️🥺🥺🥺 It was super funny and I enjoyed the storyline a lot. I literally could feel straight away why people would love this series.

And now. I'm reading Son Of Neptune. And it started strong. But why the FUCK!!!! Am I getting ANOTHER potentional (which is probably going to fucking happen from past experience) ROMANCE between a 13 AND A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD!!!!!!! Like what actually goes on in someones brain for them to think that this is normal and fucking alright!!! And why!!! Have I never seen anything about it mentioned before!!!! I have so many bones to pick with Mr Riordan and anyone that has ever recommended these books because like dudgdhshdh I hate it!!!

Im back to basically just trying to read this as fast as possible now because I just seriously cant be fucked with a weird fucking age gap like that, its just totally unnecessary and the story would've made just as much sense if their ages matched. I will probably still finish the books because Ive come this bloody far but I'm so fucking pissed. If anyone would like to console me feel free djdvcjd I have lost months of my life reading these books 🤣😭
