oh my god mag 39 is literally one of my favorite episodes, i have so many thoughts i am so normal about this episode (it gave me the tma brain worms)

there's so much that happens in this episode and its all so good but one of my favorite things is the way it showcases the character dynamics and we learn a little bit more about the other characters outside of the bits we get from the statement recordings. i love the og archival assistant team so much i wish we could stay in those silly goofy bits forever :( tma is *through tears* an office comedy

the amount of iconic moments from this episode too like jon asking martin if he's a ghost, statement of joe spooky, tim breaking through the wall (i think about his "hi guys!" everyday,, season one tim you will always be famous), martin talking about recording his poetry on the tapes (AND THE PAUSE AFTERWARDS FOLLOWED BY JON'S 'i see' IT GETS ME EVERYTIME), its all so good man and its just such a good insight into the different characters ughfje i love it sm

i love the writing in this episode too, the whole episode consistently keeps you on your toes and its all so balanced, like in the same episode as the statement of joe spooky we get jon talking about how he doesn't want to be a mystery (sobbing on the floor in mag 200) it has such a good mix of emotion, character, fear, all of it

GOING BACK TO JON TALKING ABOUT BEING A MYSTERY TOO ACTUALLY- jon being vulnerable!! him admitting that he's scared!! all of it gets me every single time, that whole bit had me on the floor the first time i heard it and it adds a whole new layer to jon's character that continues to get expanded on later and its just!! so good!!

i feel like there's so much worldbuilding in this episode too (like when jon talks about feeling like he's being watched when recording statements) and just the little bread crumbs this episode starts to leave (or dare i say string,, g-get it cause the web)

and finally- SASHAAHSE (my fav girlboss miss you everyday bbygirl) i have so many thoughts about sasha and the not!them but lord everyday i wake up and suffer remembering what happens to her. (aside from that, i really love the whole scene she has with bitch boy elias especially with the power of hindsight and seeing him just waiting and watching what was happening and knowing it was just a part of his plan) i feel so terribly for sasha tho man she did not deserve the end she got at all, keep kayaking up there in heaven queen

bonus thoughts:

i love the sound effects in this episode like the pasta worm sounds?? absolutely amazing i have no idea how they did it but it worked

now me personally? i could fix jane prentiss i know i could, jane <3 though i definitely feel for her as a character, i think about her such an normal amount

prentiss saying 'archivist' at the end of the episode? im absolutely feral

conclusion: I am So Normal about this episode and this show 👍

Dark Winds anon back again to talk about the new episode bc I have so many thoughts and no one to tell them to irl!! What an episode man aughhhhhhhh. (These thoughts are very disjointed so bare with me) The whole hospital scene was sooooooo cool! whoever did the lighting for that needs a raise fr. I almost wish it had been a longer sequence with Joe and Bern having to go inside and stalk blondie/ protect Chee, but that’s alright. Speaking of Joe, I’m absolutely loving the little descent to madness he’s got going on. The staring off into space, dismissing anything that isn’t the manhunt, the obvious exhaustion etc all works so well. Bern was really keeping an eye on Joe the whole episode, which leads me to think that she’s at least somewhat caught onto his spiraling and is….. Concerned….. at the very least. It does make me wonder just how much they’re going to touch on Bern’s feelings regarding Joe Jrs death, esp since she says he was like a little brother to her in s1. Personally I think that, unlike Joe, she would probably be able to keep her feelings out of her work more, and that she’ll probably be a rock for him (at least on the professional side, her deal with Joe and the border patrol job is smth else entirely) rather than succumbing to the same recklessness as Joe. (Tho if anything happened to Joe or Jim I imagine that might change). My guess is that if we see any of her thoughts about it, it’ll be a quieter moment off the frontlines. but that’s a complete guess, I could be wrong about all of that! Overall, another great ep. I won’t lie the timeline is sort of throwing me off (it doesn’t seem like it’s been 6 days since the events of the first ep) but maybe I’m just dumb. Veryyyy much looking forward to the next episode which based on the preview seems to be a lot of injured Zahn McClarnon walking simulator, my favorite!

every single episode keeps gettng etter and better like what did they put in this show that makes it sooooooo scrumdillyumptious....YESSSSS the entire coloring of this season has been sexy as hell and i hope whomever had a part in that decision gets sloppy onthe reg. joe can go on a spiral as a treat for having to deal with another whitte man messing around with his livelihood like totally understandable it's only fair. goshhhh, my bbygirl bern needs a break !!!!!! and she is also always the one getting thrown into the supernatural-esque situations like omfg GIRL.

that's why i adore the relationship between joe and bern because they take care of each other like they can alwys lean on each other and trust one another with each other's lives. no, you're right, i do think bern might be the anchor in the storm and the one who would most likely face consequences for their actions is joe since it's now eating away at him. the questions of how did that buckle end up there? what really happened? just swirling around in his head. naurrr, it's going rather quickly and that's the thing that sucks about this show is that it's only six episodes long </3 even my dad was like wthhhh do you mean it's only six episodes ....my thoughts exactly. at the same time, i do think that if it was any longer than 10 episodes, it might be a litle drawn out like i've seen shows with long seasons and it's not always good lol. WHUMP JOE EVERYON EO N THE WHUMP HURT NO COMFFORT JOE TRAIN BABEYYY!! two premium tickest please ^_^

buddy im down to be sad everyday but atsumu does not have surgeon brian according to my very weak japanese school system knwoledge the clases are divied by the grades and atsumu is in class 2 of year 2 and osamu is in class 1 of the same year (making osamu the academically dumber twin!) but i took kita as refre bcs hes supposedly doesnt fail at all and hes in class 7 of year 3 so that leads me to my conclusion that atsumu and osamu have weak grades. would love to see how u can atsumu smart tho my bbygirl doesnt have a single working nom volleyball briancell in that bleached head of his

I've read from multiple sources during fic research that classroom assignments are random at the start of the year, but since I'm not from Japan, nor have I ever attended school there, I cannot say for sure one way or another

Either way, as someone with multiple chronic illnesses, I can assure you there are many, many, many dumbass doctors out there. And as someone who's had surgery and interacted with three different surgeons, they did not come across as particularly smart (but then again, we can't judge how smart someone is based on how they interact with people, and my opinion of those particular surgeons is cynical due to personal reasons)

Anyway, the main things someone would need to become a doctor is an adequate interest in medicine, money to attend medical school (or the willingness to go take out massive loans), and the determination (and study habits) to finish with passing grades

And arguably, I think Atsumu has shown that he is capable of single-minded determination, and if his interest was surgery rather than volleyball, I have no doubt he could become a passionate and capable surgeon

Moral of the story, you don't have to be smart to be a doctor. You don't have to be nice to be a doctor. You don't have to be a genius to be a doctor. You don't even have to like people to be a doctor, as evident in many of the doctors I've met in my life

So yeah, I think if Atsumu wanted to do it, he could and he would, without a doubt

☽ now Saeran is very careful with expressing his emotions. so when he does show his feelings, you know he means it
