Kinda jumping off a discussion I was having with @markantonys and @sixth-light the other day, I am really feeling excited about potentially bringing in most/all of the rest of our endgame love interests next season because I think they'll pretty much all benefit with the jump from book to screen.
(contains some book spoilers through Knife of Dreams)
I really enjoy a lot of the choices that the show has made so far, and I think they've done a lot of good set-up for the romances as well. To start with the characters who are locked in already, I really loved that Rand's three love interests all got to spend some extended time with (at least) one of his friends in season 2. Elayne being close with Egwene and Nynaeve is book canon, of course, but I like that the show essentially did that with Aviendha & Min too -- Perrin and Aviendha were so funny together, Mat and Min were also funny but had some great depth and angst. We got to see all three of them shine as individual characters before we got into any romance elements.
Especially with Min, I really loved the choice for them to take Min's self-reported past struggles with her ability and make it a current thing for her. It gives Min an active emotional storyline that is about herself and not centered around Rand, which is a big plus for me.
For next season, it's fairly well confirmed that we're getting Faile, and I think the show is set up to do really well with her:
a. the fact that we're not getting Perrin's internal narration will do so much to combat the 'constantly possessive and jealous' vibe that she often has in the books, because she frequently does not act on it but is just feeling something and if Perrin didn't basically have telepathy, no one would know.
b. Perrin's previous marriage provides a good reason for his relationship with Faile to be much more of a slow burn than it was in the books, and also provide background on why he'll be over-protective of her without falling into Jordan's "Women Are Precious Frail Flowers" trap (which Jordan did realize was a flaw in his writing -- we see him trying to interrogate it over the course of the series. But sometimes he would fall into the trap anyway).
c. And Faile and Perrin's relationship being more of a slow-burn would also make Berelain be a less ridiculous character (if they choose to still have her & her pursuit of Perrin). I'm also fond of the (from reddit!) speculation that maybe Berelain will be Graendal in disguise, which would have the potential of working really well to bring Graendal in sooner and give Perrin a proper Forsaken nemesis.
We are likely to get Gawyn, and if he's our main PoV for split in the White Tower, rather than it being Min (who is going to be in the Tanchico storyline with Mat, if that leak from a couple of weeks ago is true), then the audience will be more inclined towards being sympathetic towards him. We're also not likely to have the huge slow-down in pacing that happened in the second half of the book series, so it won't feel like Gawyn is just marching in place for forever. He's definitely one of the characters who suffers the most from how slowly the plot moves in The Slog.
Less likely but still very possible (especially if the leak about Mat is true) is that we may meet Tuon next season, and the show has done so much to make Mat & Tuon more plausible as a romance, even before we get into anything like character development.
Partly in the difference in Mat's background, in his relationship with his parents, and also in the way his dynamics with characters like Liandrin and Ishamael were played out.
Plus the set-up for what the show is doing with damane & sul'dam is promising in terms of Tuon because the show has established that the sul'dam are very weak channelers (as opposed to being learners), which means that Tuon actively beginning to channel wouldn't be plot-breaking in terms of her capabilities and would just affect her on a narrative level, which makes that feel like a much more likely path for them to choose to go with her and which opens up some avenues for some genuine character growth from her, which would be an exciting change from the books.
And, on a more subjective note, I feel like Jordan really fell down on the writing of Mat and Tuon, especially in CoT & KoD, so basically anyone else taking them over is probably going to be an improvement for me.
The show also really established a strong personality for Mat off the bat, which is something that Jordan was pretty inconsistent about. 'Mat' doesn't really gel as an individual character until the third book when he gets a PoV; and then he changes in several ways between the end of Winter's Heart and the start of Crossroads of Twilight (which is only a week later); I think that 'Crossroads' Mat could have been plausible (if depressing) as a character if Jordan had actually worked up to him over the course of CoT & KoD rather than him abruptly becoming this New Slavery-Neutral "both sides are valid" Mat in-between books (in WH he has an actual ethical & visceral objection to slavery, while in CoT & KoD, he only seems to object to the idea of being personally enslaved and views it neutrally if other people are enslaved). But I've talked about all that before, lol, so I will just say that it feels like the show already knows who they want Mat to be and has taken a pretty bold stand on the subject (re: being a Hero of the Horn), so I don't think we'll see them dumping his brains and empathy overboard between seasons.
So, yeah, I know s3 is still filming, but I am already anticipating it so much!

this may contain written spoilers for the murder of sonic the hedgehog
This is outdated and getting a rewrite
okay, this is gonna be one of those crazy theories full of headcanons i make on discord, except this time I'M POSTING IT!
Hypothesis: Barry is a chaos user
Now, I know what you're thinking
"there's no proof of that what are you on"
AND I'D SAY "its just my little headcanon with no evidence :3c" however maybe there's some evidence, what if the THINK minigames are...
somewhat more real than just "think of what sonic would do"
what if Barry's chaos power is a very weakened (due of not knowing of it) form of ESP, so hear me out, here's my proof
During every interrogation this happens
0) have Barry collect clues before the interrogation
1) Tails says he and Barry have formed hypothesis or Tails makes an accusation/unfounded argument
(to which Barry progressively wonders why Tails and people keep mentioning them before an interrogation)
2) we have to select the correct type of evidence, from Barry's inventory, to form an argument
3) play the THINK minigame so that Barry can order their thoughts
4) Tails explains the argument flawlessly and barry sometimes lags behind
"but that isn't proof of anything"
SILENCE!
Hear me out: Barry's power is not only some sort of ESP, but some sort of inspiration or enlightenment kind of telepathy!
The game doesn't show Barry telling Tails anything, yet Tails forms almost always a very strong argument from a piece of trash Barry found laying around
Sure, he comments on them beforehand giving the player insight on how to use the clues during the interrogation
And Tails is a really smart kid, [and while we know IQ tests are dumb, he might have an IQ equal to eggman's, if not higher] however; Tails is... still a kid, he's prone to making mistakes
proof of this is in the very game in Espio's accusation! where all his arguments are weak and we have to help him out several times
[and several other times in different canon where being an 8 year old has overcame his high intelligence] [see: Forces]
and let's also remember Tails' intelligence comes in the form of excelling at engineering, robotics, coding, and mechanics; but there's different types of Intelligence, and just because one is super intelligent means they'll be great at everything
Eggman excels at the same things as Tails, however he took more time to make functional replicas of the phantom ruby, whereas Tails was able to make a functional replica of a chaos emerald in way less time.
The point is, Tails somehow always has something to say about things during the interrogations, and somehow always involves Barry even though they're not often adding anything
what if Barry is constantly giving Tails the information, and Tails being surrounded by chaos users always doesn't think much of it
plus this game has a lot of dialogue detail, wouldn't it be more correct to have them at least be shown to discuss something before presenting the argument?
but nope, Tails always jumps right into action the moment Barry shows a piece of evidence and does the THINK minigame
sure, it could be the discussion is done DURING the THINK minigame, but the dialogue doesn't inherently imply that, Tails often just tells us to think how the evidence links to the unfounded arguments from the interrogation
but if you aren't yet convinced: there's also...
Barry was always able to find clues, while Tails ... didn't really, even though they were working as a team, Barry always found the clues; even if for them they didn't seem as clues sometimes
sure, Barry is the avatar for us, and the game being a point-&-click needs to present us with minimal things to be able to interact with
but what if in Barry's mind it was somewhat the same, what if the same things we were presented with as interactable objects...
were also somewhat highlighted in Barry's mind
I'm not gonna use the trashbin thing as proof since theres a reason Barry did it through the game, they even tell Tails about it
but they do find every piece of evidence that could support any argument Tails bould be beginning to cook...
"but maybe Tails just made an argument with the things Barry collected and just wanted to include Barry on the interrogations"
there's truth to that; however, my argument can coexist with that one, Barry could've "inspired" tails with some sort of ESP during their THINK Sequences, and Tails could've formed a stronger argument through that!
in fact it sorta makes sense
Barry organizes the thoughts Tails presents them with AND shares the information with Tails to form the argument
all during a mind link while we are playing the THINK minigames!
LASTLY, and the weak part of the argument that I'm presenting; but still a part I wanted to include,
why was the final fight a THINK minigame? because Barry was helping!
do you think, after being inspired by Sonic the hedgehog he would stand in the background and do nothing?
it's implied the other friends of Sonic were also attacking the train during that whole thing
what if Barry was doing something
what if, specifically, Barry was giving information to Sonic of the train's next moves and where to go in the rail tracks
so that Sonic could spindash right into the train's carcass for amy to deliver the final hit with her piko piko hammer
is there any actual proof to this one?
unlike the other two arguments? not really
but it kiiinda makes sense?
yes.
Conclusion: Barry is a chaos user, specifically has a weakened/dormant ESP ability!

so recently i 100%ed hfr for the 4th time. and during the process, i thought, "hey, i know a lot of things about the combat, maybe i should make a list of tips that other people can use similar to the boss tips list i made back when i 100%ed the game the first time!"
so that's what this is! this also features tips for the bosses, because that old list has been Buried by now, plus i've learned a decent amount since then
this DOES contain some spoilers, by the way, but if you're reading this i'm assuming that you've probably beaten the game by now. figured i'd still give a heads up just in case, though
also! @bpmrush helped me put this list together! go say hi! she doesn't bite (most of the time) :]
and, of course, if you have any tips of your own you'd like to add, feel free to do so!
to start, here's some non-specific things:
parry health chip is your friend
pick me up is also your friend
stun is your bff (equip chips accordingly)
speaking of stun: korsica does stun enemies, yes, but she also doubles the damage you do to their stun meters. also she can physically attack enemies if she's close enough to them, and her typhoon does damage, too
korsica's ground jam combo pulls at least one enemy outside of the one you're using it on over to you, and can hit multiple enemies (it's basically just a less costly, more useful version of twin assault since it actually gives you a score bonus. even has some of the same animations)
macaron and peppermint's jam combos can also hit multiple enemies if you use them close enough, alongside korsica's air jam combo
if you have the shock jump chip equipped, peppermint's air jam combo can stun enemies you're not using it on
you can't parry during certain combos, but you CAN dash out of all of them if you're about to get hit
dont get intimidated or panic. remember, ur the coolest motherfucker around and u WILL destroy everything thats thrown at u
next, some enemy specific things:
magnet backstab sen-c0s when they go to place down their barrier generator, it'll cancel it
magnet backstab ses-103s, it lets you to attack them even while they have their shield up
when you magnet backstab the kem-n0, they'll attack you with their tail, so be prepared to parry immediately
if you run up to a barrier enemy before they get their barrier up, you can parry the barrier, leaving them unprotected + you can do a parry counter
make sure to use peppermint's cannon (her hold attack) against hg-0ms (the big blue fuckers) to break their barriers immediately, as theirs are stronger than other barrier enemies'
always be prepared to parry twice in quick succession when up against a kem-n0. same goes for the dm-et1l
when the dm-et1l summons the two random enemies, just ignore them and whale on the dm-et1l. the enemies will get despawned once you damage the dm-et1l enough
use korsica's air jam combo on vu-rev's, it'll put out their flames + it deals damage + stun + brings them down to the ground
you can use jam combos on an enemy while near z-shielded enemies to damage & break their shields
if you call in korsica or peppermint at the right time when an enemy's stun meter is broken, or perform a jam combo or special, you can attack enemies like the wa-es-2 when they're in their 'invulnerable' state and trying to pull you into a rhythm parry sequence
now, about those s ranks...
kind of obvious, but if you're struggling, equip the rhythm meter rush chip (though you won't really need it on the easier difficulties.)
jam combos > special attacks; they all give you a x2 score bonus AND cost less, meaning that bonus adds up more bc you can do them more often. plus you're less likely to miss. this isn't to say that you should never use your specials, though
you don't need to get the crown/violet s on every track for the "s rank all tracks on x difficulty" challenges, you just need a S
if you rlly need an S rank on a particular fight (or are just challenging yourself to get all S's), but you got an A instead, pause and back out to the hideout while the results for the fight are still up, then go back in. you'll get put back to the last checkpoint you hit before the fight (you can also use this strategy for no hit runs on the bosses, but instead of waiting to see your score you just do it immediately after getting hit)
use your partners often! just calling them in generally (esp multiple at once) gives you points!
remember to grapple and use air combos. the former gives a x1.2 bonus, and the latter gives a x1.5 bonus
try to use a variety of combos!
oh, and for rhythm master...
if you're not sure whether or not you can beat it, do what i did: go up against kale first. if you can beat the final boss on the hardest difficulty, you can do anything
remember how i said to have stun chips equipped? ignore that for this difficulty only. just use parry health and rhythm meter rush. trust me. you'll need them.
during segments where you need to wait (such as the beginning of the section where you have to break the brakes on the LIFT), do random combos. it keeps the meter up, regardless of whether or not you're actually attacking anything
as for the bosses...
korsica is only really useful against mimosa + kale, the others don't have stun meters
if you jump over qa-1mil's arm sweep, make sure it's a double. a regular jump won't be enough to dodge it
don't use specials or jam combos on QA-1MIL (unless you're using smth like power chord), bc it just resets him to his default pose with his fists back up, & jam combos take you to his chest plate which is a quick way to fall off or get smacked
don't go for QA-1MIL's face, just whale on his fists; it's easier and quicker
parry his fists when he slams them down for the parry counter + quick call in to follow up
if you use a special on rekka when she's going for the electric panel/pipes, you can cancel her out of it
when rekka goes to do her Big charge attack, position yourself directly in front of a wall; she'll run into it and get stunned for a bit
even if you think you're safe from rekka's grapple, you're not. dash.
the only thing you really need to worry about when it comes to korsica is catching her at the end, bc if you drop her your rank goes down by a metric fuck ton
do not only use korsica during mimosa's fight. this is a semi-common misconception i've seen, based off of a line in-game where korsica tells you to call her in. you need to call in the others and attack her yourself, too; all forms of damage are useful against her stun meter, just the same as with any regular enemy. korsica just doubles it
if you call in peppermint at the right time during the Lights Out bit in the second phase, she'll reveal mimosa's location to you immediately
you can parry the phase 2 (Vandelay Side Story) and 3 (Equalizer Wave) gimmicks when she sends out the wave to suck you into them, avoiding them entirely
don't be intimidated by roquefort. he hits hard, and his human phases are annoying, but he's not that bad. just do your best to parry everything
most ppl know this, but when he jumps out of the gold after diving into it, stand near the big metal fist. he'll ram into it and get stunned for a bit. (also you can parry him when he tries to swim into you)
you can parry kale's lightning attacks (including the electricity around him, though you have to spam for that to work)
if you stand near him during the second phase, it's easier to trigger the attack he does with the fists. just be ready to parry quickly, and note that it is still mostly up to rng. also don't constantly dash up to/around him, as it can cause him to get stuck dashing away from you
hey, what about the rhythm tower?
remember: pick me up and parry health chip are your bffs. so long as you have them, you will never need to buy any items during your run
specials that are mid-to-long range are best for this, since they can be used to clear an entire floor quickly
...aaand that's all we've got! hope you find this helpful! :]
and like i said earlier, if you have any tips you'd like to share that weren't included here, feel free to add them!

do you think ken genuinely cares about his siblings or is his behavior towards them just indicative of how badly he needs to feel liked by everyone?
oh i definitely think he cares about them. you can see in moments like when he sticks up for shiv in 'austerlitz' or for roman in 'argestes,' or how comfortable they all are together on the yacht in 'this is not for tears' or in la in 'the munsters.' kendall's not faking that type of affection (i don't think he has the inclination or the people skills for that, honestly). also, as much as he does need people to like him, his siblings are probably the people he worries about that least with, because there's a family bond with them that he's more secure in. like, the sibs sometimes hate each other and they certainly snipe at each other, and roman and shiv also think kendall is cringey and embarrassing.... but at the end of the day he is also their big brother. he'll always not-so-secretly care whether they show up to his terrible midlife crisis birthday party, and they'll always find reasons to be there. he certainly takes them for granted (particularly connor) and often subordinates their needs and desires to his own, and his general tendency to see everyone except himself and logan as an npc often jumps out. but that doesn't mean his feelings about them are any less genuine.

(( So, when I write horror, I tend to write it using... well, I've called it the "Don't Flinch" rule in my head, but you could probably liken it just as much to quicksand or fingertraps or the like just as much.
The basic idea is this: nothing bad will happen to characters until they react to what's happening around them. It's a little like sitting them down into a chair and telling them that, whatever happens around them and whatever is going on, they will be entirely and wholly safe and untouched until the moment that they flinch. That they move, effectively, or interact with the horror, or otherwise involve themselves in some way. After that happens, all bets are off the table, they've caught it's attention and it can do whatever it wants to them now.
The reason why is pretty simple, in my opinion. No stimuli is worse than bad stimuli. Boredom is often far more painful than actual pain itself, and pain can be vastly preferable in the sense that at least then you have something to do, that you can then pare the situation down and react to it in a way that directly makes sense. There aren't really any instincts for making boredom less tolerable, but when bad things happen, the mind tends to contract and lessen the horribleness of it.
So, then, you want to force people to make that choice. They can stay in that boredom, they can walk freely and safely afterwards knowing that whatever happens is no fault of their own, or they can involve themselves. Heap the responsibility onto themselves, put themselves in harm's way, even end up hurt because of it, but then being able to react at all and to know what's happening and what reaction to have.
It's a pretty good way to build tension, I've discovered. It's picking at people's curiosity, making them sit and wait in that moment before anything happens, anticipating the drop and knowing they'll have to make themselves take that jump, and all they can do is try to brace themselves for what they know they're about to do. There's a choice to it, a choice with no right answers, yes, but a choice all the same.
And, likewise, it kinda just happened because I've figured out that people just really can't leave shit alone. There's always that urge to pick at that scab, to try and scratch, to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong. There's always the want for more, the inability to tolerate something being just out of reach for them, and I think that's fun to toy with.
Of course, another aspect of this rule for me is that... Well, by the horrors not being allowed to harm a character until they react to them or interact with them in some way, that does still mean they can do literally anything else other than that. Hence, don't flinch. Someone can throw a punch or swing a weapon directly at the victim's face, so to speak, and unless they flinch, it won't touch. However, that doesn't mean that throwing the punch or swinging the weapon isn't especially cruel, particularly with the awareness that if they do flinch, it will connect. Which, again, I also like to build tension, because it forces people and characters alike to steel their nerves. To force them to try and brace themselves to tolerate whatever's about to happen to them, because it's the only way they'll get out.

"Beddor is a familiar name"
Dina turned to face her. She was used to hearing her family's last name often, but sounded strange when it came from a faerie. Despite being familiar with Dara, she is also a nymph.
"Of course it is. But here it doesn't matter" she inquired, looking away at the landscape. "I mean, maybe if I bump into one of the Archeron sisters they'll recognize it"
Must be acceptable for her to be nervous. It's in her family's veins. Being a Beddor reminded her of that, and House Beddor just didn't turn to political advancement with all the resources they had for one simple and traumatic reason; protect the edge lands of the mortal from creatures coming from the other side.
Dina was on the other side now. Way beyond what she thought was faerie territory. Her advantage was her friends, her training, and a crazy plan formed by crazy people (herself included).
Looking at the faces of Dara, Oscar and even Guizo, everyone there knew that stealing from a High Lord would be like shouting from the rooftops to put a target on their foreheads. Dina couldn't see this as not being personal, since she knew there were specific names behind Clare's disappearance and that includes the High Lord of that land and Elain and Nesta sister.
Being the humans of the group, Dina and Guizo depended on Dara and Oscar's knowledge of this land. But even they didn't seem to understand much beyond what Jurian had informed them.
"I get the feeling we shouldn't even be here in the first place" Oscar, the only human other than her, didn't move from the rock he was sitting on. Half fae and half human, but a changeling, adopted into a noble mortal family.
Guizo kicked a stone, surprisingly his hands were in the pockets. "Honestly, I take back everything bad that has ever been said about Spring Court. Why couldn't this High Lord hide his stuff in a flat place?"
"It could be worse. It could be Velaris"
"Is it a flat place?" Oscar hugged himself in the overcoat, his hand covering the pendant around his neck involuntarily.
"It's much harder to get into and relentlessly beautiful, or so they say" Dara explained, though maybe Oscar didn't care at all "Velaris has gone from being a hidden place to an impossible place. In Hewn City is not enough for us to enter, but to get out quietly"
Oscar snorted. "Problem is how to keep two humans, a nymph and a half Urisk alive and well"
“That's the spirit, I'm so glad you understood, my good friend Oscar” Guizo clapped amiably on his arm, to which Oscar didn't react beyond a nobleman's eye roll.
"I've never been this high before either" Dara muttered. Her body shuddered as another gust of wind swirled through the mountains. Not the cold of the water or the cold of the storm, but a hard wind pounding against her body as if she's supposed to fall over a mountain. She wondered if there were nymphs in the Night Court in general.
"I think that's awesome" Guizo jumped up "So, as long as we can get in, steal the parchment, and not get paid, it's going to be sooo awesome."
He walked to the edge, where he could see the entrance to the city.
“Does anyone else want to do something, or can Dara…”
"Don't say my last name"
Dina's voice managed to cut through the wind.
“I know it's not customary for you to have one” Dina looked down at the Beddor crest with her sword. Every Beddor has at least one thing with the crest highlighted . The machete looked less lethal than Dina had always considered her to be, even if it takes more than that to kill a faerie.
But she could hurt -, a lot.
“But don't mention my last name. Just in case"
Silent agreement prevailed between them, even Guizo seemed to calm down for a moment before continuing.
“Okay, since that’s all” he pointed down in the middle of the mountains “Let’s steal from a High Lord”

Any cursed biology knowledge to share with the class then Vazel?
I dont know about "cursed" but techincally speaking if Stolas is an owl this means he has a uropygial gland, this gland is so birds can produce an oil for preening, waterproofing, ect. (you can look up uropygial gland and read up). On Owls they have one at the base of the tail. Technically this means Stolas is not just oily but specifically his butt. If Blitzo is based on a iguana based on his back spikes which tend to be one of the most prominent features maintained on iguanas, he should have a parietal eye which would presumably be where his forehead mark is as it's also not a readily visible thing. While Pikachu was design wise based upon a squirrel, in Detective Pikachu they gave him no paw pads, this is fairly consistent with how Pikachu moves as being a pokemon that seems to walk both digitgrade and plantigrade like rabbits, most of them do not have paw pads because they don't handle repeated impact very well and so instead they developed shock absorbing fur to withstand it. Tomato frogs sweat glue. No show connected i just remember that often and think it is cool. If any creatures you create have massive horns and or ears, they're likely important for temperature regulation because it allows blood to travel closer to the surface of the body and cool down before going back in. In the US when everyone was trying to kill off wolves, they also after some time tried to kill off coyotes seeing them as more pathetic wolves (iirc it was Mark Twain who even hated them and may have somewhat jump started this as he owned many cats and its likely some were killed by coyotes) but part of why the hate has remained persistent unlike wolves is because we failed to kill them because Coyotes have a thing where if they know theres less coyotes in the area they'll adjust their litter size to have more. I highly recommend looking up biology of the animals referenced for the fantastical creatures you create as it can lead to a lot of interesting things to consider! And if not at least can be funny to learn!

I can't draw deer so... I had this idea for a comic while I was gardening today... knowing that no matter what I plant... edible, toxic, whatever... a deer is going to come by at some point and eat all the leaves off (esp in early spring, late fall, or anytime in winter)... even if it's something deer don't usually eat... just because it's a new plant and damn are they hungry. I've even had them eat the tops off potato plants and chives, for example. I've come to the conclusion that the only thing they won't at least try are: irises, alliums, daffodils, columbine, herbs, and garlic. I've literally heard stories of them eating roses TO THE GROUND, thorns and all. 🤪
Comic would be 1-3 panels. First panel would show a person planting something, preferably an ornamental plant that is by no means edible (tbh this could be just about anything). Deer is standing near the person, looking at the plant: "You gonna eat that?".
Bonus panel: Person planting something that is very clearly edible but not something deer will touch (example: garlic, sage, thyme, oregano, mint, rosemary). Person is looking at the deer: "You gonna eat this?"... Deer looks bewildered: "FUCK NO!"
Extra bonus panel: Person next to a deer points to an invasive plant that is edible (example: Storksbill, Ground Ivy, Clover, Oxalis, ect): "You gonna eat this?"... Deer (possibly with a rose or tulip hanging out of it's mouth): "Nah, I'm good".
That's it. That's all I got.
I thought it was funny.
You don't have to share my sence of humor. 😅

Crewmates vs. Impostors vs. Crewpostors
(long post, post below the cut)
If you've been thinking about adopting an amongus, the most important thing is to know which type you're getting, as they all have unique traits and care needs. So, here's a brief guide to all the types and how to care for them! (Reminder to adopt from shelters instead of pet shops, and make sure your breeders are safe and ethical.)
1. Crewmate
Crewmates are the most common and the most well-liked as pets. If the place you got your amongus doesn't say what type it is, a few signs are:
Have little or no canine teeth
In general, smaller or less visible mouths
More social, compared to any impostors in the same location
Can be seen doing tasks (anywhere from trying to fix a broken enclosure to fidgeting with a toy)
Only have their hands out when doing said tasks, or any other time when it's absolutely necessary
Avoid small spaces (mild claustrophobia)
May gather the other members of their lobby all together to talk (emergency meeting)
Tasks are very important for crewmates. If you can't get a task machine specially designed for amongi, baby toys are often a great idea! Make sure they're safe, but under no circumstances get a jack-in-the-box as it looks just like an impostor jumping out from a vent and will scare your crewmate. Get some baby fences too, and give your crewmate an enclosure filled with tasks and toys.
Amongi are omnivores, but crewmates have more plant-based diets. They enjoy softer foods than impostors, but crunchy foods like carrots and apples are still a good idea for the nutrients they provide. Their meals will usually look something like salad, but remember to occasionally give them some meat- chicken works well.
Amongi are very social creatures, crewmates especially, so if you get one it's a good idea to get two. They can be very skittish when alone, and having another crewmate to be by their side will make them feel exponentially safer.
SUBSET: Scientist. Scientists are a special kind of Crewmate who are incredibly attuned to the needs and health of their lobby. They make better pets for beginners, as they know how to and will sometimes take care of themselves, and they're often incredibly affectionate. They have an affinity towards Medbay-type tasks.
2. Impostors
Impostors are probably the least kept as pets, because they can be very tricky to train and care for. They do have violent instincts, but don't be put off- they can be just as kind, caring, and social as any crewmate. Some surefire signs of an impostor are:
Prominent mouth
Extra or particularly sharp canines
Sharp, whiplike tongue
Appear less social compared to crewmates in the same location, but interact with other impostors
Can be seen near tasks but never actually doing them (however, will still play with certain toys)
Hands out more frequently
Will shove and hit other amongi/caretakers- as a sign of affection
Bigger/squishier paw pads (to sneak up behind an unassuming crewmate)
Tendency to make a mess of things for fun (often called sabotaging)
LOVE confined spaces, such as vents, dog doors, tunnels dug in the backyard, etc
Impostors won't do tasks, but that doesn't mean they don't like to play. They just prefer to play more physically- they'll run around, climb through and around shelves and cabinets, and play-fight other impostors. If you have a large backyard or extra space in the house, impostors are a great idea. They're very rambunctious. Get them tunnels, install a dog door, let them play in boxes like cats so that they can vent and travel around the house safely and entertained.
For their care, I have a separate post about impostor diet, but what's most important for impostor care is training. They are born with violent instincts, and in the wild often kill other amongi frequently. But don't be afraid! Nearly every impostor available for adoption will already be at least somewhat trained, and if you take care of them as minis from before they're 1 year old they'll likely have already learned from your own behaviors not to be violent, but you should always still train impostors. If they ever get too violent- biting, stabbing with their tongue, using weapons, or even just affectionately shoving you too hard- give them a firm "NO." or "STOP." and depending on the severity of what they've done, take away a few toys or don't give them treats until they've slowed or stopped the behavior. But under no circumstances should you hit your amongi.
SUBSET: Shapeshifter. These impostors have the incredible ability to transform into any other amongus from their lobby, or even just a neighbor's amongus who they're friends with. They tend to be sneakier, and unlike every other kind of amongus who benefits from having company all the time, they're much sneakier and will be okay with being kept as an "only child".
3. Crewpostors
Crewpostors aren't kept as pets as often as either of the other types, because by their very nature they're a combination of a crewmate and an impostor- and so no one guide can tell you definitively how to care for them. Crewpostors come from either
a. One parent impostor and one parent crewmate
b. Two parent crewpostors
c. One parent crewpostor and one parent either impostor or crewmate.
Unlike the other two types, who are more "purebred" and are born from two parents of the same type, or in rare cases, of a crewpostor who's more one than the other and a parent crewmate/impostor. There's no definite guide to tell if your amongus is a crewpostor, just if they don't fit the criteria of the two other types, they likely are.
Crewpostors have sabotaging instincts and task completion instincts, which often results in them being very messy. Don't adopt one if you're not good at cleaning up! Every crewpostor's level of "crewmate-ness" and "impostor-ness" varies, so the best bet is to just give them an enclosure with every type of toy you can find and see what they like. A common crewpostor behavior is that instead of venting (which they will still often do) they will bury themselves- in piles of leaves, blankets, or their toys. So stuffed toys are a good idea for them.
Crewpostor diets are completely omnivorous, so make sure to feed them a variety of meat and plants, and be prepared if they're picky eaters. A good rule of thumb for crewpostors, with everything, including food- is to start off with one of everything and use the process of elimination to find what they actually enjoy. Crewpostors are known, more than the two main types, to try and eat human food- be careful! Not all of it is good for them, and some can be harmful.
They face more health issues than the other types of amongi, so be sure to take them to the vet regularly, and especially keep up with their dental hygiene. Mouths are the most different thing between crewmates and impostors, so be prepared for some strange smiles.
SUBSET: Engineer. Engineers are a special kind of crewpostor with no impostor traits or instincts except for venting. Take care of them as you would a crewmate, but provide plenty of boxes and tunnels for them to vent through.
P.S.
All amongi are different, and will have individual needs. And, if anything obvious seems to have been left out- that's because it's something you should do for all amongi, not just one specific type. Make sure to do your research before adopting any amongi at all, and make sure to always give them lots of love and attention.

Slashers and how they treat their sensitive, scaredy cat s/o
Slashers and how they treat their sensitive, scaredy cat s/o!! (SFW)
Brahms Heelshire
he relates to you, he's also a bit jumpy and scared! i mean, not as much as you, but thats why he likes you! he understands you like no one else...
he makes his steps a bit louder so you can hear when he's coming, but sometimes when he's upset with you, he'll purposefully try to scare you.
whenever he has to... take care of trespassers, he warns you ahead of time so you can hide in the attic till he's done!
horror movies are an absolute no in this house, unless you suggest them yourself. if you DO decide to watch them, brahms cuddles you the whole time and keeps reminding you it's not real and can't hurt you!
he'd kill whoever it was that tried to hurt you anyways...
his child-like voice is used more often because its lighter and gentler
Jason Vorhees
the most understanding of your needs! he's not easily scared himself, but he sympathizes with you
warns you when he makes a sudden noise and tries to have music playing softly in the background, so the silence doesn't scare you
you usually hear when he's coming, he's a Unit of a man after all, but he makes sure you're never surprised and practically stomps everywhere he goes
he has traps set around the area to keep people out so he makes sure you never go out walking without him so you don't get hurt or scared
jason's not a big fan of horror movies but if you wanted to watch one, he'd pause it multiple times to remind you that if you need to stop, you can
he always calls you brave and strong, very reassuring to you whenever possible!
Michael Myers
without a doubt the least understanding. how can you be scared of so much and still dating him? how does that work?
still, he doesn't try to make it worse and makes an effort to muffle people's voices when he kills them if you're nearby and walks a bit louder for you
he's not bothered by horror movies so he'll watch them with you if he's bored enough. when you get scared, he'll let you hide your face in his shoulder but ONLY because he thinks you're cute...
when he comes home covered in blood, maybe he thinks its cute to watch you freak out about the blood
as hard a time as he gives you about it, he comes running when he hears you scream no matter what
kills the spiders for you, always, even if its early as fuck in the morning
Ghostface (Billy Loomis & Stu Macher)
god they're so mean about it sometimes. billy's meaner about it than stu, but whenever they team up to tease you, they're unbearable! they go out of their way to make loud sounds to spook you
they dress up in their ghostface costumes to jump out and scare you whenever possible, like its a game
it is a game for them actually! whoever scares you the most in a day wins and the loser buys dinner when you all go out to eat next
whenever they make you watch scary movies with them, they tease you as you jump at the scares. they make fun of the movie for its fake blood or ridiculous characters to try and make you laugh so that you're less scared, but they still tease you!
even if they tease you, if they can tell you're genuinely scared, they'll always protect you! billy especially is incredibly possessive of the two of you and stu cracks jokes so you'll be less nervous
their favorite story to tell is the time you broke stu's nose when he jumped out of a closet to scare you
Bubba Sawyer/Leatherface
bubba always feels bad when he has to use his chainsaw or make loud sounds, so he gets some noice cancelling headphones for you to help drown out the sounds!
he doesn't usually creep around, he has no need to, so you never have a problem hearing him when he's behind you
you're too afraid to go into his basement or into the barn on your own, so he always offers to go for you or at the very least hold your hand
he tries to never leave you alone for too long so you don't worry about him!
bubba doesn't care much about horror movies, so he never really asks to watch them. if he found you watching one, he'd Pick You Up and carry you away from the tv. nope, not happening! it's too scary!
whenever he has to use the chainsaw he always warns you! he makes sure your room is secure so no one can bother you when he and his family have to deal with visitors
Ghostface (Danny Johnson)
pretty understanding! he's a huge horror movie nerd so he doesn't really get it, but he tries to be respectful
he'd probably try to help you get over your fears! watch really dumb, bad horror movies with you and build up to scarier stuff
he's accidentally scared you a few times but he just laughs it off and reassures you its okay
actually likes how scared you get sometimes, ESPECIALLY if you lean on him for comfort when you're scared. that's his favorite part
whenever you get scared by anything, he'll point out that it's not gonna hurt you or that it's not real, anything like that to calm you down
ignore the fact he brutally murdered a woman who surprised you in the grocery store the other day. ignore that fact, he totally had nothing to do with that.

Barbara, and Bennett: Toxic Positivity (and how they each exude it)
While it's easy to spot negative toxic behavior, toxic positivity can be harder to recognize and pin down. In this blog, I am going to analyze 2 characters in Genshin and explain just how they show traits of toxic positivity. (I originally was going to include Jean, but I already covered her in an earlier blog so it'd just be redundant)
Barbara Page
Tumblr media
Barbara is all smiles and sunshine, trying her best to ensure that everyone is happy. However; she does this to an unhealthy degree and often does not prioritize her emotional wellbeing.
#1: Forcing herself to always be happy.
Barbara's story lines state that she "only allows herself to be depressed for 30 seconds" and that after that, she basically puts on a smile; regardless of what she's actually feeling. She often talks about how good everyone is to her, and I honestly believe that Barbara invalidates her own depression because in her eyes; she has a good life and there's no "reason" for her to be sad, plus if she was sad then everyone else would feel down. She hasn't experienced anything traumatic, so how can she have the right to be depressed? But the thing is, she has: her parents divorced when she was young; and Barbara grew up apart from Jean, leading to a lack of a relationship between the two. While the divorce, based on Jean's story lines, did not seem to have a lot of negativity around it (from what I can tell Simon and Frederica actually split on amiable terms, they just fell out of love with each other), it still affected Barbara in a negative way and no doubt she is hurting from it but she's not acknowledging her pain. All trauma is not the same, this is true. But all trauma IS valid; just because someone is hurting less doesn't mean they're NOT hurting and Barbara needs to understand that her pain is valid and give herself time to process it.
#2: Lack of emotional boundaries
If there's anything that Jean and Barbara have in common besides both being healers, it's that they're absolutely terrible at saying no. In Barbara's hangout, she feels guilty for avoiding Albert and wanting to be left alone despite being emotionally exhausted and even wants to apologise, despite doing nothing wrong. Later on when her fans ask for autographs; she agrees, despite being off the clock and trying to take a break: Aether has to step in personally to get people to go away, and not only that; he has to lie through his teeth in order to do so. If you tell the NPCs the truth ("Barbara is currently on leave, please don't disturb her",) they'll reply "Oh she's on leave? Perfect time to ask for an autograph!" They don't care about her feelings; all they care about is what she can do for them and the worst part is that Barbara lets them treat her like this. It's so bad that the Knights have to constantly step in and rescue her because folks can't get it in their heads that off the clock =/= available; and Barbara feels like if she can help other people that she needs to; to the detriment of her own needs. She seems to think it's selfish to put herself first; but looking out for yourself emotionally is anything but. It's okay to say no, it's okay to tell people you're not available. Just because you're free doesn't mean you're up to engage and there's nothing wrong with that. But like Sister Victoria says herself; Barbara is too nice. She gives and gives and gives and expects nothing in return, and people take advantage of that.
#3: Undermining herself through constant praise of others
In her hangout, she tells you that besides singing and healing, she doesn't have anything worthwhile about her, and then goes on about how amazing you are, Jean as well. Barbara doesn't acknowledge her positive traits, and then when she vents to you she apologizes for doing so, since you were supposed to be hanging out and having fun. She puts a lot of her worth in comparison to what other people can DO, and not actual character. Barbara is a lovely person: she's sweet and kind and loving, but because she doesn't see herself as physically strong or powerful, she doesn't think she's worth a lot.
Bennett
Tumblr media
My GOD, Bennett is like the EPITOME of toxic positivity.
1. Allows others to mistreat him and take out their feelings on him because he feels it's his fault they're suffering (essentially, a martyr complex)
Bennett's hangout is a prime example of this where when Royce got angry, Bennett simply let him yell until you step in. Due to his almost perpetual bad luck, he feels that he's responsible for the misfortune of the people around him and since he can't physically do anything about it, he attempts to "atone" by letting himself be emotionally assaulted.
He also puts himself in physical danger to keep other people safe (he figures since he's already unlucky, might as well suffer a little more if it means everybody else is okay, right?), and accepts abandonment as the norm since he's a liability. Bennett does not value his wellbeing whatsoever due to constantly being in danger and he seems to be of the mentality "If I'm going to die, at least let me die protecting everybody" and that immensely upsets me that a KID, who's probably no older than 17, is already considering his mortality.
#2: Not allowing himself to process negative emotion
Just like Barbara, Bennett constantly forces himself to always keep a smile on, only in his case it's more to keep himself from getting overwhelmed about his situation. It's heavily implied in his story that Bennett is afraid that he could die any day (and I don't blame him) and so he lives hard and fast because he feels he doesn't have a lot of time. He's cheated death MULTIPLE times (he almost died as a baby, and he almost died prior to receiving his Vision), and Bennett more than likely feels that one day, he's not going to get lucky enough to escape again; and he'll actually die. His life is an entire string of misfortune and unlike Barbara and her parents divorce, Bennett is aware of this trauma: he simply chooses to take it in stride and forces himself to stay upbeat. Which is just as bad as letting negative emotion completely overwhelm him, it's literally just the other ditch.
Bennett also seems very sad about the fact that his team abandoned him but he doesn't let himself process that either (if you respond angrily to the revelation that his teammates left he'll jump to defend them and insist "they had their reasons"- and that may be true, but that doesn't invalidate the trauma and sadness of being left behind because of something you literally cannot control). Similar to Diluc, Bennett is sort of an Atlas of his own right, but instead of carrying all of Mondstat on his shoulders he's shouldering his emotional wellbeing: he refuses to vent to anyone and bottles everything up because he doesn't want to be a burden; but in doing so he's only hurting himself in the long run.
(Thank God for Razor though it seems like he might be hanging around for the long haul and that makes me immensely happy. I could cry. Please don't let anything bad happen to him and Bennett they deserve friendship)
I'm going to go off the beaten path a bit here but, to all you guys reading this; please remember that:
1. Your trauma is valid, regardless of how "lesser" you think it might be.
2. You are not obligated to give yourself emotionally to other people if you are not up to it. You cannot give what you do not have, and if you're not 100% emotionally wise, you really shouldn't be taking on any more negative energy. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. If people can't respect that then they're not worth your time. Set emotional boundaries and don't budge for anyone. The people who are meant to stay will honor your boundaries.
3. It's okay to be sad! And it's okay to be sad and have no idea why. It doesn't matter if you have a 'good life,' depression doesn't care who you are or where you are on your walk of life and sometimes it hits like a truck. Your sadness is valid and don't be afraid to take the time you need to acknowledge and process your negative emotions.
Please take care of yourselves, friends; and be safe.
Have a good day. 💗

The Jobros: Finding out their s/o is Pregnant with Twins
TW // none
Original Request: Can you do the jojo's reaction to their s/o being pregnant with twins after a long time of trying? You can find this here.
The sweet @serenityblaze44 asked for this same prompt with the Jobros, so... here it is! <3
WORD COUNT: 2.6k
ROBERT E. O. SPEEDWAGON
Tumblr media
As soon as you tell him, his eyes widen, like a cat who saw his favourite toy. It's almost as if he was a kid, and you were telling him that Santa was gonna bring him his favourite gift ever. No wonder, he'll be speechless for some seconds. Not only one baby, but two? This sounds all the way like a dream becoming reality. Living in the street like he did years ago, he could only dream about having a family.
You've been trying so hard to have a baby, you both felt ready, and after all the danger he went through along with Jonathan, Robert wants to settle down and have a family, finally starting something serious. But you had a lot of problems with getting pregnant, and he was losing his hope. Until you told him you were expecting a baby. And now, you were telling him they were two, two angels of his growing in your stomach. This feels crazy.
Speedwagon won't force you and won't get angry, if you don't feel like you'd like something like this, but he'd love to name one of the twins Jonathan or William if there's at least a boy and Erina if there's at least a girl. These people mattered so much in his life, and would be the happiest if he could bring these names with him forever. If you don't like the idea, he will respectfully accept it, and he's open and ready to hear your own ideas, too!
He wants everything to be completely organized, when the twins will come to the world. Every parent buys furniture and clothing for their baby, even before the birth, it's a pretty common thing. But Robert more or less behaved like Joseph buying stuff for Shizuka with Josuke's money. Speedwagon almost bought an entire baby store out of happiness and excitement. He's enthusiast and nervous. Bear with this loving gentleman.
"What do you mean I don't have to buy six cribs for the babies? What their two ones break and we need to change it?" he groans, handing you a bag, you looking at him with questioning eyes. "Nevermind... y/n, will you hold these fifty pacifiers for me while I get the twenty pairs of baby shoes out of the car?"
Speedwagon can't keep the news to himself. He'll call Erina before everyone else, and then all his friends, like immediately, to tell them the good news. He looks calm and rational, but he spent most of his life in London's street, and few years won't erase his loud and impulsive attitude. It's probably a good thing, after all. Even gentlemen can be excited. A little sudden, but hearing it makes Erina so happy, she'll be like an aunt for your kids!
He would enjoy reading books to your stomach during your pregnancy. He would have done it even if they weren't twins, but he claims that being them two, he'll need to work twice the amount he did before to teach them stories and literature. Robert is an amazing man, but still a too grown baby, he'll never stop his ideas about how to teach the children something. He just thinks about what he'd like to do or hear if he was a child.
CAESAR ANTONIO ZEPPELI
Tumblr media
He stops practicing with his hamon for some seconds as soon as you tell him. Funny, he was so focused on his training that he swore he started hearing things. You didn't just tell him that the baby bubble growing in your stomach are in reality two baby bubbles. He... oh, forget it Caesar, you must have dreamt it. But you're right next to him, and almost immediately repeat what you just told him, making him realize what he heard is true.
It takes a while for the italian boy to realize it, but when he finally does, you can tell he's happy. Mamma mia. The adrenaline and excitemente in his body won't stop flowing, this is why, when Caesar will hug you, pick you up and jump around, hamon bubbles will still be coming out of his fingertips, and you find it the cutest thing ever. It's the physical proof of how happy you make him, there's no way to deny it. Family is all he ever wanted, over his flirting habit. You're the right one for him and he knows.
Prepare your kids and your stomach to get a whole load of opera music during your pregnancy. Caesar is a great lover of opera, and will care about his kids to be as informed on it and respectful of the genre. Either he'll put on some of it, of he'll straight up sing it for you and your future children. His singing voice isn't actually so bad, you notice, and this is how he earns the task of singing them the lullabies when they'll come to the world.
"Hey! What do you mean I get to sing them the lullabies... I'm good at opera... not baby songs..." he whines, almost sounding like a baby himself. "Fine... but at one condition. You change the diapers and I sing the lullabies. Take it or leave it."
He cares a lot about his family's traditions to go on. Being the flamboyant italian he is, Caesar prides himself on the love for his close family and relatives. He doesn't have a huge request for you, but he cares about what he's gonna ask. The father-to-be would be happy, if one of the twins is a boy, to give him Antonio as a second name. Like his own second name, and his grandpa's too. He secretly hopes the twins are a boy and a girl, he's always wanted a baby princess.
The young Zeppeli will grow twice more protective and caring of you. This translates in him not letting Joseph get closer to you than three meters away. This is how you learn to speak even louder to talk with people. Your loving boy will always be in front of you to keep you safe. You appreciate it, but sometimes he's exaggerated.
He'll probably beg you on his knees, for you to allow him to teach the children how to master the hamon technique when they'll grow up. You can't really deny it, sometimes it's useful. During your pregnancy, Caesar and his calming waves helped you coping with pregnancy pains and cramps, massaging your belly and leaving some bubbles around to soothe and distract you. Oh, your caring italian love.
NORIAKI KAKYOIN
Tumblr media
When you told him the good news, his heart exploded with happiness and excitement. However, Noriaki is known for being a pretty calm boy, and he tried his best to keep calm after your words, too. You had to tell him to let go and don't worry about wanting to hug you, or pick you up and kiss you, or even cry, if he felt like letting it all out.
Before you even got pregnant, Kakyoin and you had been trying every single way on Earth to have a baby. Take count of your most fertile phase, buy a lot of pregnancy tests, using different positions, praying, making rituals, crying and asking Siri, in tears, why Noriaki couldn't manage to get you pregnant. Did those ways work so well that you got twice more pregnant than you expected? Nevermind, all you know is that you and your loving cherry boy are gonna have two beautiful babies.
"Listen... why do you think I can't get my baby pregnant? We've been trying every single way... do you have any advice?" as soon as Siri answered, Kakyoin's eyes widened, and raised an eyebrow. "Hey, don't give me the 'Sorry, I'm not sure what you said' treatment!"
One of his first thoughts, is that there's a small - but now it's higher because the babies are two - percentage of chances your babies might be stand users. Yes, it's not the highest percentage ever, but it's still there, and Kakyoin is pretty afraid of it. Stand users' lives are never calm and quiet, he had the occasion to prove this himself. They often go towards almost deadly experiences. He's gotta be a good dad and protect his children.
Hierophant Green is overjoyed! Noriaki and his stand worked hard, to create some decorations for the babies' room with emeralds. Green is a neutral color, since you don't know whether the twins will be boys, girls, or both. Still, you don't think colors like pink and blue are gendered, that's some stereotypical bullshit. But you had the luck of having green decorations, perfect for anyone, from Hierophant's power.
Kakyoin secretly hopes that at least one of the babies, no matter whether it's a boy or a girl, will have his hair color or hair noodle. Think about it, wouldn't it be funny, cute and incredibly special to have a small version of your husband/boyfriend walking around the house? Oh god, what if they're identical twins? Three Noriakis? Oh my.
Even if this might embarrass him a little, you'll often get to see his parents during your pregnancy. First of all, to give them the good news about the baby being in reality two babies, and second of all because mrs. Kakyoin would be on cloud nine, getting the chance to give you some parenting advice. That's also how you get to know some interesting information and curiosities about your man's childhood. The cutest things ever. But this... is another story.
NIJIMURA OKUYASU
Tumblr media
Okuyasu.exe has stopped working. What do you mean two babies? He thought the shocking news were finished, after the pregnancy announcement. He's gonna ask you a billion times, on the verge of tears, if you're joking or messing with him, knowing how much these news matter to his heart. When he gets you're serious, Okuyasu just lets go and cries. He feels so damn happy.
He learnt to hate your period as much as you, honestly. Because everytime you got it, it meant another month in which he had failed in getting you pregnant had passed, and this made him feel useless and disappointing. You never thought anything like this about him, but making him understand this is pretty difficult, he wouldn't have forgiven himself until he succeeded. You wanted a baby and Okuyasu wanted so too, so he would have given it to you, no matter what.
"Oi... did you... you know, bleed this month already?" Okuyasu asked, with the eyes of someone who was afraid of asking. But you shook your head. "This is good, love... but let's not get our hopes up, shall we, y/n?"
He doesn't really have any special requests or ideas for your babies' names. Or better, he does have one, but will never tell you, as he thinks for sure that you'll never agree with doing it. Okuyasu would have liked the kanji "兆" ("chou": trillion) to be in at least one of your babies' names, to remember his brother. But your boy is pretty sure you'd hate it, and he'd never suggest this. You'll probably feel there's something he's not telling you and find out anyway.
Expecting two babies is tiring, and you'll need to rest a lot. Okuyasu would like to join you and hold you in your sleep, but he also wants to be awake to take care of you, get you something to eat or drink, or put in order his messy house to make it look at least decent for when the babies will come. This is why, while you take your naps, he works around the house and lets The Hand cuddle with you. It's always him, after all. He feels the way you hold his stand.
This leads to the father-to-be being often pretty tired, too. He overworks himself. At night, when he finally joins you in your bed, happens to fall asleep in a matter of seconds, wearing his ordinary clothes instead of his pajamas. You can tell he's gonna be a good dad. Some mornings during your pregnancy, if you happened to wake up before him, you'd quietly turn off his alarm clock for him to rest more.
Okuyasu's dad is on cloud nine too, as his family is going to get larger. Mansaku totally wants to take a photo with you two and his grandchildren, as soon as they'll be born. He accepted you and behaves with you the same caring way he does towards his son. He's changed in a better man, despite his appearance. But the first person Okuyasu told the good news to, was Keicho. He purposely went on his grave, because he knew his brother would have been proud.
BRUNO BUCCIARATI
Tumblr media
You tell him the good news while he's working. Not only it'll make his day better, but it'll also hopefully get his mind off of that giant bunch of papers on his desk, for once. The capo suddenly stops, moving his gaze towards your eyes, then your stomach, then your eyes again. You'll have to repeat, or he'll be sure he's imagined what you said because of the too much time spent working. But there's no joke or dream, you're pregnant with twins.
Screw all the papers and all the work that's left. He's gonna get you in a so tight and warm embrace of his, and never let go. Libeccio's for dinner that night? Guaranteed. He's usually a calm man, but whatever is related to his family, gets celebrated. When you announced your pregnancy, you had a dinner with the whole gang at the restaurant, but this time Bruno would rather have something more personal and private with you. Make the dinner romantic.
When you were still trying to have a baby, Bucciarati was the one who managed not to lost his temper when every attempt of yours resulted in a negative pregnancy test. But when you weren't around, I won't say he cried, but was pretty close. He was afraid of not being able to give you what you wanted, and usually ranted about this with Abbacchio. Bruno wanted to be the shoulder you could cry on, and couldn't breakdown too.
You both decided to wait some time before telling the gang about the baby being in reality two babies. They were still excited for your pregnancy itself, Mista and Narancia above everyone, and giving another shocking news would have probably brought the peace to say arrivederci. They still managed to get you confess, the look in Bruno's expressive eyes was too happy not to notice.
Just like Giorno would do, Bruno wouldn't be happy if his two angels ended up being involved in Passione's business. He totally will let the gang around his babies, as he trusts them, but during your pregnancy you both decided that the one of you taking care of the babies on a certain day, wouldn't even think of getting close to Passione's headquarters with the children. And you agreed with Bucciarati, for your little ones' safety.
"You'll agree with me that our children's safety is the most important thing, tesoro mio..." Bruno murmured, caressing your cheek. "Let's not bring them close to this place ever, I beg you. I'm sure you'll understand."
He would enjoy talking and interacting with his babies by laying his head on your stomach, kissing it and listening to them moving in the last weeks of your pregnancy. Sticky Fingers is in love with you too, and Bruno won't ever lose the chance to close you in a cuddle sandwich between his body and his stand's to make you feel protected and let you know how proud of you he is. Bucciarati will be a special dad, indeed.

How do I stop being frustrated that someone says they can't reply to my "longer" thread with them (our only thread) because it's hard for them to write "long" replies atm but they write long replies with their other closer partners? Even combined other those replies add up to a lot of writing, way more than my thread with them.
Hey, Anon!
I am so sorry that this answer is likely to be awful, but it's at least honest and I really mean that I'm sorry about both the situation and that there isn't a whole lot to be done for it. Sometimes, just hearing someone else understand what you're going through and echo your own thoughts is helpful, though. It can really help solidify options we know exist, but maybe, we just weren't ready to acknowledge them.
This is one of those situations where you're the only person involved you can change in any way, so it's good that you're wanting to mitigate your frustration instead of changing the other mun. Good on you for that!
It's certainly frustrating! I try to take on at least one or two blogs at a time who have come to me expressing a desire to write more, they want to become lengthy multipara to novella RPers, and this is quite often the situation I end up in. The mun can manage to churn out lengthier replies to a handful of other muns, but not me. Ultimately, it tends to be a combination of them not being super invested in our plots/the action in the thread right off and my writing style. I can be a difficult person to reply to unless the other mun is also deeply, and I mean, like, Marianas Trench deeply, thrilled by writing in and of itself...and I also do not quick-ship or quick-smut as well as writing muses who can preclude those common interests anyway.
I say that because there might be some similarity going on here, and understanding the why of it can make things a bit less frustrating and personal feeling.
You might also write in a style that is harder for this person to jump right into and roll with - especially if these other blogs getting the lengthier replies are a little below the other mun's writing skill level. People often feel like they're up to and excited by a challenge until they really get into the thick of it, then, it's stressful and they can feel like they'll be judged if they do not write as well as they perceive their writing partner is.
You might have muses and preferences that are not aligning with what they most want and are, as such, most inspired by to write more. Again, that can seem interesting as a challenge, something like a slowburn or platonic interaction, or even a muse that is more difficult to interact with, but once someone who isn't usually into those situations gets into one...it just feels like delay and boredom to them.
I'm not saying that your threads, writing, muses, or you, yourself, are frustrating or boring! Simply that this has been an issue in the past with these situations not just for me but also for other muns I've known, so, it might hold some significance here.
There isn't any good way to do this, I'll be honest, but if you're so frustrated that you're willing to risk losing them as a mutual to feel better about this situation, I'd suggest talking to them about it. Handling it with a lot of care, of course. By that, I mean keeping this all phrased as a you problem not a them problem, regardless of how accurate or upsetting that might be. Don't directly state that it's a little hurtful and frustrating that they can magically expend the effort to write more with everyone other than you!
If you go this route, try something like:
"I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but I wanted to talk to you about something. Is there something I'm doing that is making it harder for you to reply more to me? I notice that your other interactions are longer and seem to be easier for you to do. I know you said that you have difficulty writing longer replies, but if there's something I'm doing that is making it harder, I'd rather know so we can have a better time."
Like I said, still likely to be received poorly. No matter how you phrase it, it's probably going to come off as accusatory or like you're being jealous. I'm only advising it as something for you to consider because, either way, it could lessen the frustration you feel to more actively discuss it with them.
I am pretty sure you don't want to go the route of calling it quits, either. However, I'd definitely be dishonest if I did not advise that as a possibility.
If their actions are making you so frustrated that it's distracting you from better partnerships, making you outright angry a good deal of the time, or otherwise ruining your time here more than it isn't...they really shouldn't be someone you keep writing with. Your frustration is totally valid, you are expending more effort than they are, and watching someone put that effort into everyone else's threads but yours is not a good time. And it isn't something you can expect to change, rather, this situation usually resolves by one mun or the other simply ceasing to reply to the thread quietly.
That isn't ideal for anyone, even though I very much understand the inclination, and you know what? On some rare occasions, that can be the nicest and most peaceable thing one can do. You really do have to know the other mun to decide that. If they're someone who is going to be very hurt, suffers from RSD, or has ever expressed, be that privately, on the dash, or in their rules, that they want people to tell them when a thread is dropped, please, tell them you're dropping. If they're someone who is going to be incredibly hostile about it, who has a ton of threads they struggle to keep up with, might not even notice or be relieved, it might be better. I still will advise 99% of the time to tell someone when you're dropping a thread.
If you don't want to unfollow because you enjoy this mun OOC, they are, or have become, a friend or just someone you enjoy on your dash, a lot of muns are perfectly fine remaining friends and mutuals without continuing to write together. So long as you're not being caustic about how you end writing together, of course! Just telling them that you don't think you mesh as well in writing as you do OOC is a good way to inoffensively end a thread - and it isn't untrue! Again, takes some awareness of the mun as a person, but if they won't take it the wrong way (projecting the meaning of "you're boring, you suck at this, I don't like you" onto what you've said), you can even tell them that you have lost interest in the thread.
Anyway, as I said, I'm very sure that's not an option you are looking for at this time either, but...it is an option. You will be less frustrated if you remove the source of that frustration.
An option you might like a little bit better is trying to allow yourself to...sort of reposition the importance of these threads.
Think of it like this - if you have ten threads and you're not dealing with frustrating partners in eight of them, you can make the two that are a problem low-priority interactions.
I know it's even more frustrating if you're doing something in the threads with this mun that you were very excited about. For some reason, for the longest damn time, every time I had someone who was up for a plot, muse, or verse I had been dying to do, they were not exactly great writing partners. It's so disappointing when you're excited, getting to do something you've wanted to finally, but you're forced to accept that you're kind of still not getting that thread. It's the truth, however. You aren't actually getting what you wanted here, even if all the pieces are in position on your end because they are not, and will not be, on the crucial other end of things.
If that's the case, seek out people who might be interested in something similar from within the group of mutuals you are happy interacting with. It's actually pretty rare that, once you have more than just two to three active mutuals anyway, you don't already write with someone who wants to write even more with you. Maybe they don't know you have a burning need for that plot or to use that verse, maybe they just aren't sure about asking you about it, there are a lot of reasons why! Usually, we're all simply busy with what we're doing and don't notice until someone directly asks/mentions it. So, when you've identified which mutual is most likely to be interested, don't just post on the dash that you want x and hope they pick up on it - directly talk to them about it.
You can also include elements of what you were excited about in already existing threads. Use those things as inspiration for those plots, the developing characterization going on in them, and so. Try to remember that everything doesn't have to happen all at once, nor should it, actually. It's alright to only sort of know how you'd like to include that bit of inspiration in an already rolling thread! Once you're aware of wanting to, that you are totally allowed to do this, and somewhat how, you're prepared to see the moment when it happens and jump on it.
Even if this isn't the case, placing higher importance on the threads written with muns who are returning your energy is a great way to feel less frustrated by the one you feel is devaluing you. There is absolutely nothing inherently wrong about having threads, muses, plots, and muns of different personal priority levels. So long as you're not being shitty to anyone involved or trying to hide it, it's fine. Creativity is not something linear and equal at all times, just as this other mun is obviously more invested in other people, you can be as well. Just be more honest and self-aware than this mun is being with you.
If you think you can't do that because it's your Process to reply in order and/or to queue replies when they're all done, neither is a hindrance. No one is actually watching the order you do your replies in. You can do the ones you feel most inspired by first, don't queue them yet, then, do the replies you know you're not going to get much other than frustration out of last. This way, you won't be wasting the creative effort on those threads either, you'll be concentrating it on the mutuals who appreciate it more. It's absolutely possible to do things with the organization you might require while still making it a better experience for yourself.
Furthermore, sometimes muns do get annoyed when their shorter replies are not the ones replied to quickly. Particularly when they outright state that short replies are their preference, this is usually a part of their process and they feel like it's easier and faster for everyone else because it is for them. If it is harder, and as such, slower, for you to deal with these shorter replies? Be sure you pop that in your rules as a warning, and make it clear when speaking to mutuals that this is the case for you and they shouldn't expect extremely quick turnaround because something is short.
While it's valid and human to not understand why something that is totally fun, easy, and rewarding for us is the opposite for others, upon it being made clear, that's a boundary you're saying needs to be respected.
Expecting replies to be fast because they're short is also something that can induce stress and be incredibly unfair.
When someone expects that their reply should be responded to expediently because it is shorter, that can be stressful to the other mun, it can feel very pressuring. To the mutuals interacting who are writing longer replies, it's unfair when it takes a week for their replies they have put a lot of effort into but someone who won't match length at all is getting numerous replies from you.
And if you like to post replies as soon as you get them done, but doing this is upsetting to the frustrating mun when it isn't theirs? Honestly, Anon, I know it sounds mean, but that's a point to have an unpleasant conversation with them about what they're doing. If they don't like it, the difference is right there for you to point out to them - these threads don't leave me feeling like I'm wasting my energy.
A lot of the time, when we are upset about perceived unfairness, the difference between what we're doing and the other muns are doing is right there for us to see. It probably is unfair to some degree, but if we want to get to the bottom of it, it's a good place to start - asking what these other muns are doing that we're not. Then, the all-important question of whether it's something we want to change, or even can, and acting according to what is going to be most rewarding and possible in the situation.
Like with delineating above what might be some reasons why this mun is responding to others differently than you, actually! Perhaps, those are things you'd like to do differently, but then again, perhaps, that would mean lessening your writing quality and enjoyment. The frustrating replier can see that the muns you reply to give back more of what they've been given, and if they feel like it's both worth it and possible, they'll do the same...or not. Either way, the awareness and tools are right there.
We all don't work out, or work out smoothly and immediately, and nothing about that is inherently mean.
Speaking of not working out, in addition to mentioning in your rules that you don't reply faster to shorter threads, it might lessen some of your frustration to work on a bit of a side project to prevent some of it from happening again in the future by going over your rules. I know much of the RPC is allergic to lengthy rules and any whiff of expectations, but clearly stating what you want and how you operate is the only way to insulate yourself and others from disappointment and frustration.
You might want to consider including some of the following:
you only write multipara - give a rough estimate of what that means to you, as mutlipara can be anything from two to twenty paragraphs, technically! Letting people know what you, specifically, tend to view as multipara, while making it clear it's not a fixed number or anything, can even help alleviate the new mutual anxiety of too much guesswork
or you only write novella - same thing, what does that look like for you? Is it 2-5k words on average, or is it 10k+? Give a rough idea to remove the guesswork, but be clear that you aren't always going to write exactly that amount or expect it
if you do have a minimum you'd like to receive, tell people - it's not demanding, it's honest. If receiving one line back after writing two paragraphs is going to upset you, say you need at least a para in return, for example
if you have a hard time writing short replies, tell people that - again, you should be a little more specific about what "short" means to you. If you find it impossible to write anything under four para, say so
should you prioritize threads based on inspiration, or even well-known partnerships, be open about that as well - it's absolutely going to make some folks pissy, but if they can't appreciate your honesty and are already annoyed before they interact with you, do you actually want to interact with them?
say that you need to know upfront if there is a consistent problem replying to you - you won't be upset or anything, but you can't address a problem you don't know exists, so, if someone is struggling with replying to you, they should feel like it's safe to talk to you about it
Obviously, these are suggestions and need to be things that are true to you! The whole point is taking the frustration you feel and doing something proactive and good with it. It isn't changing this particular situation, but making certain that you are providing new mutuals with clear information as to your boundaries, expectations, and what you'll be giving them could help prevent some similar problems. While, unfortunately, not everyone reads or respects rules, having rules that outline such things let muns know what they're getting into, allows them to make better choices of who to interact with, and is respectful to both them and yourself.
In the future, if you have another mutual like this and have made such things apparent in your rules, you can address it with a bit less awkwardness and even anxiety. It's a different feeling coming to someone with a problem when you already have a base of discussion! That doesn't mean it's a way to be forceful or shitty or anything, just that you can casually remind them at a point in this conversation that "like I said in my rules, it's not fun for me to reply to shorter things." Kind of helps to remind that, hey, you did come into this knowing that was a problem for me, you're the one being kind of lame in this situation, without literally saying that.
Any time you start to feel really frustrated and you want to settle down, consider working on something you can use that energy on. Not talking about going outside and hacking up a tree or anything ridiculous, totally talking about projects that could use a touch of frustration that you might already have sitting in your drafts or have otherwise been meaning to get to.
Take the frustration and work on a thread or meme reply in which your muse is frustrated. Take it and go work on the graphics overhaul you've been meaning to do, as annoyance can be a great way of giving us extreme focus on a task. It doesn't have to be your rules is my point! A lot of things could channel the upset into something enjoyable and productive.
And, I mean, I guess, if you really want to murder a tree...so long as it is your tree and you're prepared to accept the physical consequences of this intense amount of exertion, you could do that.
I'd still suggest replying to the muns who are more appreciative of what you're doing, though. While keeping in mind that, eventually, it really might be in your best interest to not keep writing with this person. They're not doing this maliciously or anything, but the outcome is still that you're not enjoying yourself.
Even in a hobby, you're not going to effortlessly enjoy yourself constantly, but if something is markedly frustrating you on a consistent basis, it doesn't have a long-term place in your downtime. Things do not have to be intentionally shitty for them to be negatively impacting you enough that they've got to go. You might want to work on letting this mutual go by having some more enjoyable, prioritized interactions with others. Not only will it keep you less frustrated to concentrate on positive, more fulfilling experiences, but it'll also make those threads much easier to let go of, even if there are things in them you'd have loved to have written. You'll get the opportunity to with the right people!
Again, I'm sorry if this wasn't incredibly helpful. It's not a great situation, and it isn't one that has a single possible solution, but rather, several that totally depend on how you feel about things and at what point in your frustration you're at.
For me, this would be a we've got to talk, this isn't working out point, but I don't think you sound like you're there...and that's fine! So long as your frustration isn't hurting anyone else, it's perfectly alright to need to get to your own, unique point of being done with a situation. Only you know where that's at, and I don't feel like it's a kind or viable answer to tell people they've got to drastically and immediately make choices like blocking someone over something like that. In addition to being a juvenile way of handling an interaction that isn't glowingly positive, it reeks of serious removal of agency to me. Like, no one other than the mun doing the advising is capable of adult cognition lol that's not cool! We don't do that on this blog. Same thing with not giving you some insulting, and potentially even ableist, "advice" that you should remember it's "just stupid tumblr rp" and not to be frustrated at all.
You're interacting with other human beings in this hobby as is required, other human beings do things that are frustrating, the venue is irrelevant, right? It's also every bit as Not That Deep that it's great to be invested in your hobby, period. (Unless your hobby is something like creating a fascist dictatorship lmao, then, maybe please kind of really get a different one.) So, if, in voicing your frustration with mutuals and friends, anyone has made it feel like you're being ridiculous? You're not, it's 100% valid to be annoyed when someone is telling you one thing and doing another right in front of you. I'd also be frustrated, Anon, and have been with this kind of thing!
I hope whatever you end up trying works out well for you, Anon! If nothing else, maybe you'll find a new mutual or existing one you can write even better things with. Just try to be patient, with this other mun and yourself. Resist the urge to snap at them or be hateful about it, and I'm sure the impulse has come up because these situations feel a lot like being simultaneously othered and lied to. It's just not worth it, it won't change anything, and you'll be the one who looks like a dick. You deserve better than that!

Love Life with Capricorn Woman & 5 Brutal Truths
Loving a Capricorn woman can be a bit like running a marathon, particularly if dating them is your end goal.
It'll take a lot of effort and perseverance, as Capricorn women aren't known for jumping blindly into relationships, but once you've reached your goal, you'll be able to look at the road traveled with pride.
Like a marathon, dating a Capricorn woman isn't something you should do unprepared, so we've compiled a short list of brutally honest truths that you need to know before going after a Capricorn woman.
Let's get started!
#1. They're workaholics
Capricorn women love working.
Oh, they might not love their jobs, but the act of working? Of having a goal, an objective, and a deadline? They can't get enough of it.
They like to challenge themselves, improve themselves, and excel at what they do, which makes them very hard workers, even if they're not in love with their job.
Capricorns also value economic stability and are always on the lookout for opportunities that will help them secure their future and their loved ones; Thus, Capricorn women tend to dedicate a lot of time to their jobs.
When other signs are resting, Capricorn women are working. When they're on vacations, they're looking for ways to improve once they get back to work. Their minds never stop working, and because of this, they're rarely idle and unproductive.
This eagerness to work can be a fantastic thing, but it can also be negative; it mostly depends on how much time you expect your partner to spend with you.
If you're the kind of person who wishes their partner to be with them all day long, then dating a Capricorn woman might be a problematic affair. If, on the other hand, you're just as dedicated to your profession and don't mind spending time away from your partner, your relationship will flourish.
#2. They think everything is a challenge.
Capricorn women are unbelievably competitive, to the point that they'll turn anything into a competition, even if they're just competing against themselves.
You need to be careful about what you tell them, or at least how you voice your comments, or else, she'll take it as a challenge and go to hell and back to prove that it can be done.
A "looks too hard" or "I don' think you can do it," will be met with a smirk and your Capricorn partner doing precisely that. An innocent suggestion to play a videogame or a board game will transform into a competition for all.
This isn't necessarily a negative. Competing with a Capricorn woman can be an incredibly fun thing to do, you just need to make sure you're ready for some competition because she will try to beat you.
You may introduce her to your favorite hobby just to make her feel included, and before you realize it, she'll be trying to one-up you even if it upsets you.
It can be annoying, but keep in mind that there's a good chance she's not doing it to upset you; Capricorn women love competitions, and if you've shown her something she can compete in, and she beats you in it, you only have yourself to blame.
#3. They're way too blunt sometimes.
Have you heard of brutal honesty? That's Capricorn women in a nutshell.
These goal-oriented go-getters are always looking for the most effective, straight-to-the-point, way of communicating themselves, and in their rush to get results; they often forego to consider small things like diplomacy or other peoples feelings.
They'll share what they're thinking with little to no regard to how they'll come off, and they'll be honest even in situations where honesty isn't the best policy.
Capricorn women are, generally, lousy liars and very bad at manipulation. Too straightforward and sincere to let things such as dignity or manners keep them from expressing themselves.
It's not that they're mean-spirited or cruel, though they might come off as that. It's that often they don't realize that what they say can be mis-constructed and will end up saying something insulting without meaning to.
A good way of dealing with this particular characteristic is tolet the Capricorn woman in your life know when she messes up so that she's aware that her words didn't come out as she intended them.
#4. They have super high standards.
Though their intense personalities might make them come off like a fire symbol, Capricorn is actually an earth-symbol. That means Capricorn women seek out stability and consistency in everything they do.
Because of this, they have some of the highest standards in the entire Zodiac.
It's not that they hold unrealistic expectations or that they take their pickiness to an irrational level. It's that they have a long and well-detained plan covering all the things they want in life and for their future, and one of those items is a particular partner.
When looking for a romantic partner, Capricorn women will look for someone who will fit the life they've already planned. If given a choice between a supermodel who will lead them into an unpredictable and adventurous life, and a regular man who will help them achieve the lifestyle they want, they'll go for the latter almost every time.
Capricorns like adventures, sure, but adventures are fun little things to have now and then, not something you dedicate your entire life to, unless that's always been part of the plan.
In a way, it's less that Capricorn women have high standards, but rather that they have a very specific criteria.
They don't want the best of the best when it comes to partners, they want those who can complement their lifestyle and goals, and they will be absolutely inflexible in this sense.
Capricorns won't give up on their goals just because it's hard to achieve them, and likewise, they'd rather be on their own that be with the wrong person.
#5. They commit with everything they've got.
Let's recapitulate.
Here you have a woman with a very clear life plan, who's honest with herself about what she wants, and who isn't afraid to work to achieve her goals.
Here you have a woman who will pursue her long-term happiness even if it means sacrificing the short-term one, someone who already knows who they want to be, and has dutifully planned how their ideal partner can complement their ideal life.
Of course Capricorn women are some of the most committed in the entire Zodiac.
When they find a relationship they genuinely want to be part of, with someone they sincerely want to be with, they'll move mountains to keep them, and they won't let anything get in their way, including themselves.
This intense approach to relationships can scare some people, particularly those used to Capricorn's somewhat aloof personality, but if you're ready for the switch that will flip the moment she decides you're the one for her, then you're ready for anything.
Being with a Capricorn woman can be an incredible, life-affirming experience; you just need to be prepared for it, though rest assured, once you have her love and attention, it will be smooth sailing from thereon.

Tumblr media
I too was excited to see why Ryuji is trending and... ;_;
People are comparing him to a sexual abuser, like Kamoshida? I mean, yeah he shouldn't have looked down Ann's shirt. That wasn't cool. And some of his comments about Ann's Panther costume when she first got it, were not in good taste. But is Twitter seriously saying that puts him on the same level as Kamoshida? KAMOSHIDA???????????? omfg... I just can't anymore, you guys...I just can't anymore... x_x
Just this past week, I watched an Anituber video essayist mention the ubiquitous female objectification in anime as "because you know anime is going to anime", and I felt so validated about sensing that the amount of female objectification in Japanese media has become pretty much expected, normalized, even in the most unnecessary, tiniest ways. I'm so tired of being gaslit about this. Yes, Japanese media in general has a problem with making sure to have close ups of girls' bodies being ogled and women being reduced to (romantic) prizes to be coveted. That beach scene in Persona 5 did panning close-up shots of the girls' swimsuits; not the guys'. All the dating options in Persona 5 are from the pool of female Confidants; not the guys. Because "guys as romantic prizes to be won? Feh, what a *riDIcUlOuS* concept!" I understand that sex sells, that traditionally female sexualization sells to a traditionally cishet male audience which is still presumed to be the largest demographic, and that the anime industry (and presumably other Japanese pop culture creation) is actually financially high risk with low financial rewards for most studios, so they have to desperately scrape for any advantage. (Though recently, the Japanese pop culture industries, like anime and videogames, have begun to realize that there is a cishet female market, large enough to cater to as well, by mainstreaming series like Touken Ranbu. And they've also even recently begun to recognize that catering to fujoshi is worth investing into mainstreaming the BL genre, even a little bit. Thus, we're starting to get more mainstream BL fanservice, through series like Free Iwatobi Swim Club, Yuri on Ice, and Classmates.) So it's kind of our fault, for incentivizing studios to mandate and ensure each thing they make contains female objectification. The audience's spending habits and the industries' presumptions of our wants/demographics, have made cheesecake fanservice and waifu bait the most reliable bet for most studios. We spend the most money on collecting waifu bait merch and gacha cards of waifu. We argue the most about who is the "best waifu" and show our allegiances by buying their merch. We have turned waifu and cheesecake fanservice of such waifu, into the most reliable financial returns on investment for studios. And with studios so constantly, precariously on the precipice of bankruptcy, we the audience, have incentivized the mandate of cheesecake fanservice (of women/girls), even at the cost of cohesive storytelling/characterization. I understand all that. Studios are desperate, and they need to stay afloat. They need to cling and scrape towards any advantage they can get. That's why I'm so tired of people saying we're just imagining things. Anime and videogames are mandating to insert female cheesecake fanservice for cishet males, even at the cost of cohesive characterization, story themes, and good writing.
This includes Persona 5 shoehorning Ryuji into being the horny audience surrogate, no matter how awkward, nonsensible, and misaligned it would skew his characterization and previous writing. This is why fans of Ryuji often say his more "perverted" actions in canon, simply feel like a case of bad writing. Those actions don't feel like him. They feel more like fulfilling the Japanese pop media "obligation" to objectify women, than aligned with his character, as set up so far. Because anime/games just *have* to provide a POV audience surrogate character for everyone to ogle the girls through. Or at least reinforce the types of reactions they want from their audience, after showing us all these T&A shots. It felt more like fulfilling anime tropes than further building upon Ryu's established character of defending people, including women, against perverts like Kamoshida. I mean, this is the guy who was chasing down Kamoshida's car because he knew that pervert might do something. This is the guy who ran straight to the faculty office to punch out Kamoshida for torturing Shiho to her tipping point. The guy who jumped in front of a moving cab to rescue Makoto. The guy who survived watching himself and his mom get abused by his dad. And you want us to believe he wouldn't think twice about looking down Ann's shirt on the way to Futaba's Palace? Or up Ann's skirt, when she laid down from a food coma, after they Yusuke's welcome-to-the-Phantom-Thieves meal? Or so eagerly coerce Ann into posing nude? o_O? Atlus wanted us to believe this was consistent characterization??? To the Atlus writers' credit, they did write Ryuji feeling too guilty about going through Project Maid-Watch and they wrote him ditching it at the last minute. But they also wrote AkiRen to look down Ann's shirt without any hesitations and they wrote morgana to also look up Ann's skirt when she laid down from food coma. The Atlus writers---and most Japanese pop culture---just seem to have an unwavering determination towards these female objectification scenes, and they just saddled Ryuji with it, because he's the "silly, rambunctious, comedy relief" character "that you won't have to feel bad when he inevitably gets hit with *slapstick* retribution". Nevermind, it's counter to the story's theme and his characterization, that they've driven pretty hard as being something to take seriously. So some Ryuji fans will just call-out his inconsistent characterization into being creepy towards girls, as "bad writing".
On the other hand, it's wholly possible and realistic for a guy to exist who is against all the sexual abuse, that scum like Kamoshida do, while still being a dumb horny teenager who will do dumb horny teenage boy stuff. (I'm sorry for all the toxic heteronormative presumptions. But that's kind of the archetype that Atlus has been trying to slot Ryuji into...unfortunately.) They grow out of it. Gradually learning to curb dumb horny inclinations, is _not_ the same level as a sexual abuser! Why are people conflating that today?! o~O????????
And from what I've seen of Ryuji in Persona 5 Scramble/Strikers so far, he has been growing out of it. There's a whole lot less creepy ogling coming from him (AKA the writers), even during scenes which any other anime would have. He didn't get creepy about the girls' yukata, he didn't strain to listen to the girls on the other side of the Sapporo onsen, he didn't make grabby hands at the girls' swimsuits again, etc. Any other anime---hell, even in the previous chronological episode of their story, in the original Persona 5---Ryuji and the camera would have been creepy about the girls' yukata, he would have shut up the other guys so he could listen to the girls compare boobs in the onsen, he would have tried to sneak a peek at the girls' onsen, and there would have been a repeat of that close up scene of the girls swimsuits, with Ryuji providing the expected lecherous audience reaction. But none of that happened in P5S. Heck, even if you choose the option to say onsen are great, as if to imply that overhearing the girls talk about their boobs is great, Ryuji gets embarrassed about the topic and immediately tries to change the subject. Watch any anime from the 2000s or earlier, and the goofy, masculine archetype, like Ryuji, would have not only agreed, but would have suggested sneaking a peek at the girls' onsen. I'm actually really surprised that the Kyoto onsen scene didn't result in fanservice, because that's usually what happens. Even in anime where the boys know to escape fast instead of sneaking a peep, there's usually a screw up where they'll Rube-Goldberg-trip into girls' boobs or trip into full-view of the girls without their towels. Any other anime or Japanese media would have done that. It's typical, expected. "Anime is gonna anime." And yet, none of that normalized perversion happened in that scene. Persona 5 Scramble/Strikers, including Ryuji, did a whole lot less "dumb horny teenage boy stuff", suggesting Ryuji was growing out of that with time. Because even if Ryuji can be a little bit of a "dumb horny teen", he still knows better than that, is curbing such inclinations, and is a much better person than to increasingly act on or nurture such inclinations.
Ryuji is a good boy. Please don't conflate him with Kamoshitty.
9:53 AM 9/17/2021 Ok. I found the original Tweet that started this shitstorm. https://twitter.com/HerielP48/status/1438677678400409607
But this Tweet isn't actually saying that Ryuji is the same as Kamoshida. I thought this Tweet was saying that the overall writing, using Ryuji as a mechanic for "pervert comedy" was a bad decision from Atlus's writers, especially since it contradicted the themes of the Kamoshida Palace story arc. I actually agree with that.
9:56 AM 9/17/2021 Oh, wait. There's a previous Tweet to that one: https://twitter.com/HerielP48/status/1438677262145101824
I see that you tried to save the first sentence, with your second sentence---which I agree with: I agree that the writing made an awful decision in having Ryuji or any character sexualize their female friends, after the sexual abuse they suffered. But your first sentence was still very strongly implying that Ryuji as a character is a problem, more than the writing injecting out-of-characterization into the character that they had already established with Ryuji thus far. That wording was just kindling waiting to start a firestorm. ~_~;

Well, the one good thing I'll say about Ryuji trending because of dumb, offensive reasons, is seeing the sheer avalanche of people jump to defend him. This wasn't something Ryuji got, early in the fandom! ;o; Remember when he was the most hated character in the fandom??? And now, everyone is overwhelmingly loving on Ryuji today! ;u;!!! Thank you guys. ;u; He is a good boy. ;U;

I might have liked the New York special a little better if Alya and Nino weren't encouraging Adrien to CHEAT on Kagami. All the Adrinette shipping scenes made me want the show to pull a twist and make Lukanette and Adrigami endgame instead just to prove a point that a male lead and a female lead don't always end up together. It would be great if the show could say just because they make great heroes together doesn't mean they'll be a romantic couple together.
I found that a bit disconcerting, too, to be honest. It’s abundantly clear that Luka is giving Marinette space because he knows far better than she does that she’s not over Adrien, and her little kiss on the cheek is in drastic contrast to Kagami’s farewell kiss to Adrien. To me, that set up Adrien and Kagami as a Thing, whereas Luka was hopeful but Marinette wasn’t committed, so that wasn’t official. Poor Luka, still doing everything he can for her.
I’ve admittedly never noticed Alya or Nino being particularly chilly towards Kagami in canon, but I’m a bit more surprised by Nino playing matchmaker with Alya here instead of just supporting Adrien and Kagami and being Adrien’s wingman. Alya knows perfectly well Marinette isn’t over Adrien and consequently isn’t falling very hard for Luka, even if her mind wants to, so I’m a little less surprised by Alya’s actions. I can see her wanting to set up Adrien and Marinette to get Marinette to wake up and admit everything to herself--without thinking of what that means for Kagami or what Adrien might want, since she’s young and just wants to support her girl, but also potentially while thinking of Luka and the fact that Marinette might break his heart if she doesn’t sort hers out. (True, Alya and Nino have both jumped into things without thinking through the consequences, but Alya seems to do it far more often--though that might just be because she gets more screen time than Nino.)
If there had even been a bit more reluctance from Adrien where Adrigami was concerned, I think it would be a little easier to swallow. I’m not saying it would be right, but it would be easier to see how Alya and Nino would decide that Adrien and Kagami aren’t completely happy together. I can’t remember that being shown, especially not where Alya and Nino have seen it. I know they’re teenagers, but that’s not an excuse; you can’t tell me Adrien wouldn’t be horrified by the turn of events if he thought about it as cheating on Kagami and not spending time with Marinette simply as he would with any of his friends. (They’ve spent too much time building up his moral character to assume otherwise.) Marinette might enjoy the stolen moments together, but it would sour a bit realizing that she still hasn’t had a chance to tell Adrien (where he can hear her) that she loves him and hasn’t given him an opportunity to make a choice. She might see Kagami as a rival, but she also sees her as a friend, unlike Chloé, and backstabbing wouldn’t sit terribly well with her once it sinks in.
Or maybe I’ve just never liked petty rivalries.
...I’m not sure if I can think of a cartoon where the romantic subplot (where both characters in question wanted the relationship with the other to be a Thing) hasn’t wound up with the couple getting together. I can think of some where it didn’t happen, but only where it wasn’t reciprocated, at least off the top of my head.
