The man's bloodshot eyes narrow. "Oh, you got it bad for the bird? I see. I got it." He holds up both hands, cigar burning between the thick fingers of his right one. "Better say your goodbyes, then, loverboy. My orders come from on high. And ain't no way you'll be able to protect your little whore from what's coming down on her thieving head."

Blaine isn't sure if it's the threat against Kitty or the crude insult after, but a slow, scarlet-wave pressure begins to build inside his head.

This man is a monster, and Blaine thinks it's time he met another.

we’re ignoring that i skipped yesterday because i was too busy being a swiftie

so today is about favorite characters and WOMEN. so naturally first i wanted to talk about my favorite ZEXAL girl: Rio Kamishiro

so Rio is a character that initially didn’t like and i didn’t know why until my rewatch. basically everyone gets injected with misogyny every time she does something remotely important or cool. like, they don’t do this with any other girl but for some reason it happens whenever she’s on screen so you’re left feeling mildly uncomfortable. she is however a really fun and underutilized character and i wish she wasn’t getting fridged every five seconds cuz she’s an awesome duelist and definitely should’ve beaten her brother (it also would’ve made more sense in the narrative to to have her win and would’ve established her as a threat during both the Abyss duel and the invasion duel). not only is she a skilled duelist but she’s also super athletic and literally just wants to have fun and make friends. really Yuma should get along with her the most. she’s got a strong sense of duty and loyalty where she prioritizes others over herself but i don’t actually hate that, i think it’s something that makes her very interesting to watch cuz you can tell she doesn’t wanna do this but she is making the choice to do things for a greater good. she is so visibly torn up about the betrayal but works hard to convince her brother that it’s the right thing to do. and she puts up a good fight against Vector and Don Thousand too and nearly won. also wish we had gotten more outfits for her since we only got her uniform, the main pink dress, and the blue striped dress from Spartan City. she suffers from being a woman in Yu-Gi-Oh! but she has the potential which is all i look for.

i also wanted to use today to talk about one of my favorite ZEXAL OCs: Opal Castle

Opal is OC that i’ve had bouncing around for years. she is a doctor who works at Heartland’s hospital. she’s also a zombie since my AU involves a lot of fantasy and paranormal stuff. she’s functionally immortal (older than Astral) and often overly serious because she’s used to keeping people at an arm’s length. it’s hard for her to rely on others but even more hard for her to understand that other people want to receive support and love from her. she takes in the Kamishiro twins after the car crash but in her attempts to not act like a replacement parent she distances herself from them too much. she’s a fun character for me to work with because who doesn’t love a zombie with no social skills trying to raise to kids who are magnets for world-ending chaos.

those are the two characters i wanted to highlight for today. i don’t talk about Rio enough so i wanted to give her some attention and i’ll never turn down an opportunity to talk about an OC!

So, Frankenstein; but Victor came back as a zombie.

This AU takes place after the original novel, and Hyde decided it was a smart idea to bring Victor back from the dead. Oh, and to make matters worse, there is a curse in the Frankenstein family bloodline where you cannot die once you become undead. Just like the izombie show, Victor has to eat FRESH brains to retain his humanity, but get visions of how the victim died.

This AU is a crossover between Frankenstein, and the Netflix show IZombie.

He didn’t need to look at the image, he had already committed to memory the face long before the screenshot had ever been taken. And while his even being here, his question, defied rational reasoning, he needed to hear it from her himself. “Tell me Daenerys,” he begged, his voice rising in timber as anger and fear surged through him.

He watched as tears welled in her eyes. He knew it was over when, for the first time ever, he saw doubt and regret wash over her face.

“Please?” He choked out.

“Jon I-”

“Goddamn it, Daenerys!” Crumpling the printed images in his hand, Jon paced in front of Dany, his mouth on occasion opening around silent words, before snapping shut again. Finally, he stilled as he stood in front of her and her heart broke not for the first time at seeing the warring feelings of anger and pain that clouded his eyes. Pitifully, he muttered, “I can’t fight you.”

Tentatively she reached out to soothe her hand over the place where his unbeating heart resided. Even through the kevlar-lined jacket he wore her fingers traced perfectly over the ridges of the scar that had cost him his life. “Then don’t.”

Blaine doesn’t have to take his clash out to the bar. As soon as he flings open the door to his office, she’s there—so close, in fact, that he doesn’t even see her before they collide. But he hears her small, startled cry of surprise, and her softness registers against the lean, hard planes of him, and his raged-out brain indexes through a dozen reasons she’s coming back; and it settles hotly, and nearly instantly, on one reason in particular.

She’s come to insult him some more.

Inadequate

Worthless

And that isn’t fair, or accurate, or even related enough to be applied, but the anger doesn’t care. It siphons all the fuel it needs from the dark corners of his heart and grows, and grows…
