Idk if this is unpopular, but Rossi was soooo annoying in seasons 15-16, basically most of the plot points concerning him was that he was getting old😭 he was also unreasonable at times, and the excessive cursing in season 16 annoyed me to an unbelievable extent. I’m trying to think of opinions I might have that are actually unpopular… Oh, I think people were shitty about Amanda getting frustrated with Daniel in season 5 (and also, by extension every time she’s gotten frustrated with him). Idk you can yell “she should’ve trusted him!!!” all you want but like. She’s just a human being who’s been deeply overwhelmed by karate bullshit she didn’t ask for for two years now.

And it’s tough bc people are often also stupid about acknowledging that Daniel is Traumatized. And it’s bc of that trauma that the Terry stuff came so far out of left field. It’s bc of that trauma that Daniel almost physically couldn’t figure out how to open up to her about it. But like also… how is Amanda supposed to trust someone who can’t even communicate with her? Of course she feels destabilized.

And yeah, the reason Daniel can’t communicate is again, the trauma. And like, god, have I been there. But just because it’s not his fault he’s struggling to communicate doesn’t mean it’s not going to impact the people around him. Quite the contrary, I’d argue.

But yeah, a lot of people reacted to that with an attitude that was like… Amanda owed Daniel complete and total allegiance, owed him her complete and total support without question, just because ~he’s her husband~ or whatever. Like the fact that he’s having a bad time somehow means she can’t react like a human being; she has to be a wife first, before anything else. Definitely not a novel concept, unfortunately.

Marigami and Alyanette for the ship game?

I have no idea why it took me so long to answer this ask because kajfndkj this is the easiest one I got asked for this game. I love both these ships so much!! but kasjbdfkj better late than never!!

Marigami

What made you ship it? Honestly, I can't entirely remember? I never was much into rare pairs before the ml fandom but this one just seemed fun--it's the first one I think I read in the fandom. I love the vibes. I think I probably just saw people talking about it so I clicked a few fics and quickly went 👀👀👀. But writing I Don't Believe In Umbrellas is what made me head over heels, kicking and screaming and giggling obsessed with them.

What are your favorite things about the ship? I think the way they balance each other out. Marinette is chaotic and warm and brings Kagami out of her shell. Kagami isn't afraid to tell her when she's being ridiculous but she also goes along with her shenanigans because Marinette makes her soft and kajefbkdjf. It's just such a fun dynamic.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Idk if this counts as an unpopular opinion but I'm really picky about the Marigami I'll read--and I don't consider myself a picky reader normally. A lot of people just miss the mark for me on characterizing Kagami and I have high expectations 😂

What made you ship it? Just my general obsession with sapphic ships I suppose? And also the answer for question 2 could go here tbh.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Hands down the way they are both each other's heroes. Like, Marinette couldn't be Ladybug if Alya hadn't inspired her. But Alya looks up to Ladybug so much. (And I like to think in some ways even more once she realizes it's Marinette.)

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Again, not so much an unpopular opinion maybe, but kajfdkjsb I struggle writing them romantically. It's the one ship I love love love reading content for but when I sit down to write it I always overthink. It's the opposite for me as Marigami, tbh. I think other people write Alyanette better than me.

how i feel about this character -

tbh i don't have quite as many super strong opinions on nine, i think cos we don't see him for quite as long, but i still really really like him hehe. he's often portrayed as the grumpy one which isn't exactly inaccurate but also i feel like he gets a bad rap for just not being as immediately likeable yknow? even though he does still laugh & joke around he's far less emotionally vulnerable & quick to get to 'you humans are all stupid', even in his first episode, although some of this is probably a self-defence, having literally just destroyed gallifrey which is, yknow, a massively traumatic thing to happen, & he hasn't had a companion for a bit, & in any case is just a bit more sarcastic than other regenerations. but also you know that feels deeply he just tries to cover it up. but also truly no one is doing it like the ninth doctor, some of the stuff he does (telling a dalek to kill itself) like ten wouldn't say that unless he was really at the end his tether yknow? but also the absolute joy at the end of the doctor dances!! 'every body lives rose! just this once everybody lives!!' and telling the kid 'pop music in 20 years you're gonna love it!' and his smile is so fun hehe he really does just :D & he has some really wonderful funny bits as well hehe. also he has THEE BEST leather jacket

all the people i ship romantically with this character -

imo all the nuwho doctors are some variation on aroace & i really Really don't see him in a romantic relationship with rose (or jack. though the would be a little bit fun hehe) but i feel like nine is the kind of person who, had he been allowed more time in that regeneration would slowly start to feel both romantic & sexual attraction. just that in the situation he's in, The Horrors are kind of more immediate things to deal with. like he just doesn't have time for that. also he probably thinks that anyone who gets to close to him will die horribly which is why he's a bit brusque. but yeah if he'd been allowed more chill time without the Horrors & time to process Everything he would be gradually more accepting of his own attraction to people and willing to do something about that. just where he's at he simply doesn't feel attraction & it doesn't even cross his mind that that's an option.

Rose. yes their weird qpr-situationship has it's issues ('i feel awful about my planet being destroyed, to show off on out first playdate i'm gonna take you to see your planet being destroyed') they just work well together hehe. A random thought: very random thought, but...when you get past the silliness of it, the space toilet is yet another fucked up thing about this world and its disparities. particularly when you compare it with the sewer problem in the city, and with the initial scene of Coco washing clothes by hand. Zozah's disparities are shown through nearly every aspect of their lives, including plumbing, and that's such a good detail tbh.
