Dear people who aren't physically disabled who plan to write fantasy settings:

This also applies to science fiction; just because Luke Skywalker's prosthetic hand is super advanced doesn't mean it's no longer a prosthetic, or that he's not disabled. Same with Darth Vader - just because he has a suit that lets him breathe and walk around doesn't mean he's not disabled. (And Star Wars' propensity for making the villains visibly disabled while the heroes disabilities get covered up by super advanced prosthetics is a topic that deserves its own post, especially with how ableist some of the authors of the books are. Troy Denning is especially ableist)

Because people keep being fucking obnoxious and ableist in the tags, yes,,, motherfuckers, if you refuse to have disabled people in your setting, that does make you fucking ableist. If you say that the magic is used to cure all disabled people and that's why they don't exist, that's fucking eugenics.

You cannot ""cure"", more like remove all disabilities without fucking eugenics. Magically automatically destroying disabled fetuses (a very fucking popular trope!) is eugenics.

The only way to fucking "cure" autism is to fucking kill all autistic people, also known as eugenics!

What about people with PTSD? Do you just fucking brainwash them so they aren't traumatized anymore?

Do you force all Deaf people to be able to hear? Do you force all blind people to be able to see? Do you force all anosmics to be able to smell?

Do you magically force everyone with a speech impediment to speak to your standards?

Do you force everyone born with bodily or facial differences to live up to your fucking standard of beauty?

You cannot fucking say "disablities don't exist in this universe because magic cures everything" without inherently saying that eugenics exists in your fucking universe.

Not all fucking disabilities need a cure. If you ""cured"" my autism I'd just be fucking dead. You'd literally just be changing me into what you think is fucking acceptable.

Stop fucking arguing in defence of ableists on my fucking post so you can pretend that eugenics has never been written about in magical settings when it is extremely fucking prevalent.

And while we're fucking at it, let your gods damned characters become disabled over the course of their story, and call them disabled within the fucking story. I don't care if they're a robot. I don't care if they have magic. Not all fucking damage can be fixed. Curses exist. Hardware can go out of fucking date and no longer be manufactured anywhere.

Let your characters become disabled and do not magically fucking cure them back to brand new every single time they get hurt. The only thing you accomplish by doing that is destroying any chance of ever having stakes.

No, "magical healing leaves scars on the mind from the memory of the injuries though!!!!" is not fucking good enough. Let your characters have scars. Let them become disabled. Stop being fucking ableist cowards.

I do not fucking care what the ableist rules are in Dungeons of Dragons. Do not fucking throw ableist rules for a game I have never and will never play at me on a post I made so that people could learn how to make their settings less ableist. If the rules in Dungeons and Dragons are ableist, then fucking change them. If you don't want to change them, then stop fucking playing an ableist game.

Disabled people deserve to see ourselves represented in fiction just like everyone else, without any fucking requirements that we be "cured" or "fixed" before the story ends.

How the fuck would you feel if a trans and gay character's whole story revolved around going on a quest to become straight and cis, did so, and only then was allowed to live happily ever after?

Why do you fucking think suggesting people write stories about disabled people going on a quest to be cured because it's the only way they'll ever be happy is any less fucking offensive?

This post is NOT a place for you to talk about how disabled people in fiction should have the option of curing their disabilities. It's just not. That's the fucking default for this society. So with my James Somerton post yesterday, I expressed how miserable it all made me feel. The constant plagiarism and the weaponization of his fanbase is such a fucked up thing, especially now we know that he was covering for his own wrongdoing by harassing people who came across it. HBomberGuy seemed pretty miserable by the end; he made a pertinent point about how many people were overshadowed by Somerton's actions, and the lengths he took to steal their hard work and pass it off as his own. For a man who claimed to care so much about the erasure of queer men through history, he did a lot of fucking erasure of his own, including against gay men and their contributions to culture. It's a really fucked up and depressing thing. I don't have the heart to meme about it.

That's not me going "memeing about James Somerton is bad, think of the victims!" - that's just me describing my own perspective. I already feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. I don't need to steep myself in all that right now - but anyone else can meme away.

The main concern I have after seeing that video and hearing about everything that's happened is how to rebuild. There's been a great wrong committed. How do we try to fix that and make it right? I think it was good for HBomberGuy to not only split his ad revenue proportionally between the victims of everyone's plagiarism, but to highlight other queer youtubers - some of them victims of Somerton's theft, others not. Personally, I'd like to do that too, because I really like their work and it's something I can do to try and make a tangible difference.

For my money, I want to highlight Alexander Avila, Lola Sebastian and Kat Blaque. Much like what I saw of Somerton's output, I saw them mostly through third-party apps with pop-up windows on touchscreen devices (Pi Music Player, and then NewPipe).

I think the first Alex Avila video I saw was "Why Can't Celebrities Queerbait?". To my recollection, it was a video that began with some recent news about a young actor who was criticized for playing a gay character in a TV show, to the point of being bullied into coming out as bisexual before he was ready. Another example was the woman who wrote the novel that "Love, Simon" was based on, which has an unfortunate overlap with James Somerton's wrongdoings.

The core of the video is about the misuse of "queerbaiting" to refer to a celebrity "appropriating" queerness, when queerbaiting is a media term for when a queer ship is dangled in front of a receptive audience only to be yanked back to keep the audience hungry for more. And Alex gives examples of this, the largest example being Teen Wolf. It's an extremely well-made video, and I thought Alex made a great point about how you really don't know a person's sexuality until they spell it out themselves. It's been a while and I might be misremembering this, so take this with a grain of salt, but I also remember a point about how bullying people out of the closet isn't the diversity win that some people think it is.

He also has an incredible video about how he was a transgender child, growing up into a transgender man. idk if this is a weird thing to say, but it's an absolute must-watch video. The video he released after that is another really good one, it's the one that HBomberGuy pointed out - it's called "TikTok Gave Me Autism: the Politics of Self-Diagnosis", and it's an incredible, poignant video that taught me a lot about the continuing stigma towards neurodivergency and the backlash against both neurodivergency and self-diagnosis through a proxy backlash towards modern social media.

Apparently, becoming a New Zealand citizen is next to impossible if you have an autism diagnosis - I had no idea. My plan was always to try and move to NZ if Australia goes to shit; given my own suspicions about my neurological state, pursuing that could end up turning all my plans to shit.

Another great video essay YouTuber is Lola Sebastian. The first video I saw of hers was a video called "The Absurd Horror of Marge Simpson". I didn't really like it, it's got a lot of like avant-garde bits, but it was good background noise for playing Runescape and it led to me finding a much bigger body of work which I really enjoyed.

She had a video called Problematic Fans which is unlisted now, it's been too long since I've seen it but I remember liking it. I've seen her video about Call Me By Your Name multiple times, it's an incredible breakdown of that movie as well as the stuff about Armie Hammer. More recently, I really enjoyed her video about Bones and All, juxtaposed by the backlash to Twilight's "softening of vampires for the sake of trite romanticism" in its heyday. It does break down Twilight, including its exploitation of the Quileute people, while also discussing a recent movie called Bones and All - a movie that's been review-bombed for, allegedly, being "Twilight but with cannibals". This video is probably the only video I've seen in years that's made me actually want to seek out and watch a movie.

I haven't seen a lot of Kat Blaque's videos lately. I did recently see her breaking down that SunnyV2 video basically shaming MrBeast's transgender friend and saying that MrBeast is gonna fail unless Chris quits the YouTube channel. What I remember the most about her is that she's got a few storytime videos about her dating life, and looking at her channel she does a lot of topical videos about media, the internet and queer issues.

I remember liking Kat Blaque's storytime videos for being personal and open, and she talks about stuff like misogynoir and her experiences as a black trans woman. This isn't a perspective I see often, not as a white Australian guy in my real life or in a broader community of video essayists. Her videos seem to be about half an hour on average, at least her more recent videos - definitely check out her videos and see if you like them, they're a good length and I think she has a lot to say. I'm just sorry I can't go into more detail.

My mental health is pretty bad rn. I was running on fumes yesterday and watching over four hours of video content about YouTube plagiarism and James Somerton specifically really fried my brain in a way that I really didn't need. Me saying "I can't deal with the drama behind James Somerton" and all that isn't like a Moral Stance against what's happening - I'm just at my wit's end with everything in the world right now, I don't need to immerse myself in all that right now.

But I've seen what happened, and all that is a part of me now. Probably a very unhealthy way to feel, but I've dipped my toe into it all and this is the conclusion I took away from it.

I don't want to be a part of the cancelling or the tearing down. Does James Somerton deserve backlash, to the point of losing his following? Based on what we've seen, and what I personally believe about the situation, yes. But that side of things isn't my scene. I want to help repair the damage and rebuild what's been lost in the wake of everything that's happened.

And I want to express that while James Somerton, his rampant theft and the negative effects of his actions are trending right now, I think that people who are currently focusing on tearing James Somerton down for what he did should consider joining the effort of building up a base for his victims and for other queer YouTubers - if they haven't already.

Do you have to follow Alex Avila because James Somerton ripped him off, no. Is it recompense for what happened with Somerton, probably not. But I'm recommending Alex Avila because his YouTube videos are really fucking good. I'm recommending the youtubers I recommended because I really like their videos. For any tearing down that's happening right now, I want to rebuild something more positive in its place.

I want people to watch videos like Alexander Avila's video about the politics of self-diagnosis, I want them to see Lola Sebastian's video about Bones and All. I want them to enjoy Kat Blaque's storytime content and - like myself after I finish this post - watch her most recent videos and see how they like them. If you enjoy video essay content, these three channels make really good videos, as do the other YouTubers who HBomberGuy recommended at the end of the video. I want any of my own input in this ugliness, at least past the point that I've already commented, to go towards building people up.

So consider checking out Alexander Avila, Lola Sebastian and Kat Blaque. Also consider checking out Princess Weekes, apologies for the late entry but she does some great videos about media and fandom. Their videos are a great way to fill in the time, and after the dust has settled, I hope they get a bit of a boost in attention if nothing else.

springer for the ask meme?

one aspect about them i love: Springer is a character who is basically in the wrong story and, on some level, knows this. Or rather, he wants to believe that; he wants to believe that the problem is that he's in a story that doesn't allow for him to be the kind of uncomplicatedly good hero he feels like he ought to be, and so maybe it's OK if he's not. He's someone who has been complicit in a lot of terrible things because he told himself step-by-step that because they were the Good Guys, because he was the good influence, it couldn't possibly have actually been terrible that they did those things. And he keeps trying to make decisions that will correct this, that will actually set things right, and it never quite seems to work because it takes him so long to understand that the issue is that the Wreckers exist at all, and he can't have the fight without the violence underpinning it. Huh. Writing that out just made me draw a new parallel between him and Prowl, actually. Wild.

one aspect i wish more people understood about them: Springer is a guy who has done really bad things, and enabled worse things. Impactor went too far after a loooong build up, one which Springer canonically managed to justify to himself for a very long time and was only able to try and fix when it was already too late. Not to mention that he turned a blind eye to the complicity of all the other Wreckers even in the aftermath. His own sense of innate goodness is what allowed that! And the Wreckers saga is, from his perspective, kind of this long trek to finding out what you can actually do about that.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: this is kind of coming at it sideways, but it includes him, so. I don't think Kup was a great influence in some ways! I think he loved Springer a lot and that this was immensely important. I also think that Springer was constructed in wartime and immediately handed over to a military guy with the explicit intent that he be shaped for said war, the main difference between him and an actual MTO mostly being that at least Springer didn't just wake up on the battlefield. Some of what Springer was as a Wrecker- willing to give himself over to violence and romanticize it as necessary and heroic, defining himself by a institution that inflicts it- probably arose from that before Impactor ever entered the picture, from what Kup taught him. I think it can be harder to acknowledge things like that when they come from the people who genuinely loved you, rather than people who outright mistreat you.

one character i love seeing them interact with: VERITY. I love their relationship so much. I think it's so important that the relationship that ultimately allows him to actually find a way to move beyond everything is a) the first relationship he really chose in a sense and b) the first relationship he forges away from the context of war. Verity, for all her accomplishments (RIP Overlord) is not a soldier. I love what we see of them in Requiem, where they've clearly been talking through a lot of his shit while they're living in that barn. They're dealing with things! She can tell him to talk about his weird robot Dad feelings! I love them.

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: I don't know if it's that I'd say I want more of him and Tarantulas interacting. But gosh did I want more of Springer talking... about him. We get these little hints of how Springer has handled the revelation of who he is, we know he and Verity discussed it. But. It's so hard to get a handle on exactly how Springer feels about it. I guess that's kind of the point. But I still wanted it, haha. Alternatively, Roadbuster. If you've read Zero Point, you know we see a little of what Roadbuster caring for Springer looked like, and I would have loved to see a little more direct interaction in Sins before he... uh. Explodes.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: Springer did not really get along with Ultra Magnus a lot of the time, though there wasn't any actual antagonism per se. The problem was that Springer always looked like a real moral beacon of the Wreckers until Magnus showed up, at which point the artifice became uncomfortably clear, because Magnus always remembered a dozen moral concerns that Springer was good at sliding past without acknowledging. It was just enough to remind him of all the qualms he managed to avoid thinking about too hard most of the time.

Sangyao for the ship game?

WOW I forgot I decided to do this meme, I am so sorry for leaving you hanging, anon!! (and also to the other people who sent me asks, I will get on those now) so:

ship it 👍

but as with most of my non-xiyao ships, I don't think I sail this particular one the way lots of other sangyao shippers do, since 1) I think there is very little canon support for it, and 2) in all of my non-jgy ships, I can never divorce jgy from his feelings for lxc. so even when I ship jgy with anyone else, he still loves er-ge best, and that is bound to be something that not everyone is here for.

that said, here are my answers to the other questions:

1. what made me ship it?

it was their vibes in cql, I think! I loved how quick meng yao was to throw himself between wen chao et al. and nie huaisang during the cloud recesses reception in episode 4, and how nie huaisang immediately shrank back behind him. because he trusted meng yao to take care of him--meng yao, who may or may not even have a golden core at this point, has not been raised among cultivators, but who nevertheless on pure instinct places himself in harm's way to protect chifeng-zun's easily flustered didi. in the novel, it was all of the gifts that jgy showered on nhs after he becomes jin guangyao, and how much joy and delight nhs seems to derive from his visits, as well as receiving such thoughtful gifts from someone who seems to actually understand his interests. I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't a little 👀 over the possibilities of what these two often underestimated men could accomplish if they were given the opportunities to do what they do best and support each other while doing it. (well. jgy would probably do most of the supporting, but I won't throw nhs totally under the bus in that department).

2. what are my favourite things about this ship?

this is another area where I expect my answer is not going to be super popular among some other sangyao shippers, but whatever, here goes. probably what I find most compelling about this ship is that, no matter how attentive and loving and devoted to meeting nhs's needs as jgy is, nhs will always know on some level that in jgy's heart, there can only be lan xichen. and given the darkness I think is absolutely present in nhs's heart even before nmj dies, I think there is a lot of potential for gothic horror-romance there. tl;dr this is not the ship I reach for when I want to indulge in some happily-ever-after vibes, even when I am hoping to use a romance between the two as part of a canon-divergent fix-it.

aside from that downer, I do like that nhs as a person is just extremely hands-on and tactile with how he interacts with others. in a sangyao ship, I imagine this was something that shocked jgy to start with, but I can also see it being one of the things that he comes to cherish most about their relationship. because nhs just doesn't care about the world's perception of him, and it does not occur to him to be too concerned with the world's perception of jgy either. he wants to drape himself dramatically across his san-ge and beg for help with these wretched grain tariffs, and no one is going to stop him, and as much as this probably exasperates (and frightens, on some level) jgy, I don't think he would give that up easily.

3. is there an unpopular opinion I have about this ship?

y... yeah. lol. a lot of them to be honest. I do not vibe with the idea that jgy would ever have chosen to do nhs harm prior to figuring out that nhs is behind the complete destruction of his whole life, and so when I see jgy being cruel to nhs physically or emotionally in fic, I smash that back button. I also don't think that a happy ending for jgy involves becoming nie-furen (or nie-er-furen, if nmj is still alive) anymore than I think he would be happy as lan-furen, and while there's far less fic for this than there is lan-furen, I still just sigh when I encounter even fanon speculation about it. jgy isn't a lan, and he isn't a nie--he's a jin, and I think while nhs is blind to a lot of things, he would not be blind to something like that.

Bateman is an absolutely pathetic human being that gains his self value by the women he fucks and other people he feels superior too. I don't really get why anyone would recommend him as a f/o for you, maybe as a.... you fixed him kinda deal? Guess the thrill of having such a person see the light and only focus on you, finally selfimproving to be worthy. Or just seeing that pathetic lil man at your feet, someone who thinks we he is so great weeping as he can't have you. I dunno, Maybe. If you go in the movie just be aware that there is onscreen, explicit sex. Just in case that's a deal breaker for you, if he turns to a f/o and that makes you uncomfortable

I can't believe this has turned into a small topic of conversation on my blog when I've never seen this movie in my entire life and I don't even KNOW this fictional character yet 😂 (but I don't mind getting asks about it once in a while)!

This guy most likely isn't gonna become my F/O, he isn't my type -- I mean, I love villains. Love villains. But I've heard he does some, uh, some stuff I probably wouldn't be able to handle watching, I'm gonna probably be looking away from the screen most of the time and not really fully absorbing what I'm watching... but also, he isn't real so I'm not really thinking about the self ship side of things too hard. He'd be "kissed and thrown into the pile" more than anything, as I like to call it.

I have very, very, very low standards for fictional villains, like -- the killing? Whatever, fictional killing is fine, I have plenty of main F/Os who murder, some of them even murder for fun and I like to be their cute little cheerleader. I like to joke "what my husband does on the clock is none of my business" sdlfkjdsf. Villain F/Os are soooo fun to ship with because you get to be their exception, that's the entire point of shipping with a villain!! Having fun!! Not caring!! Because they aren't real!!! BUT. BUT. I do have some Hard No's for my F/O list and I think Patrick crosses 2 of those No's, so I probably won't end up falling madly in love with him or anything like that. He'd be a joke F/O for me to meme on. also... this is a horror movie with, I'm assuming, gore... and I can't watch horror movies. I can't!! I caaaaan't watch horror I can't I can't I can't. So one of my best friends who loves this movie is going to watch it with me and hold my hand the entire time and tell me when to look away bc they know what I can/cannot handle.

However, let's play around with this. Before I see this movie and find out who this guy is -- let's just... daydream a little bit with this absolutely wild concept. I don't know ANYTHING about this guy so don't take my words too seriously here, but I do love the idea of him, like you said, weeping at my feet. On all fours. Holding a bouquet of flowers. Begging to be loved by me, a fallen star who is rumored to love so easily and so freely to any and all who want it. And I'd hesitate to give it to him and it would drive him so fucking crazy. And I think it's even funnier to imagine him doing this BECAUSE he is such a fucked up serial killer. Like teehee I get to be the exception, I get to be the one (1) person he would not murder. Self shipping is all about having fun and there's no rules you have to follow, I can make him as out of character as I want <3

If I did ship with him by some miracle, it'd be, like... so... one-sided. It'd be a joke self ship, it wouldn't be taken seriously at all. Kissed and thrown into the pile, except he's Kissed and thrown into prison forever to rot <3 I'd draw him crying puddles at my feet, sniffling and whimpering while I just look down on him. Oh, he'd fucking hate if anybody else did that, but not me <3 he's obsessed. Up on that pedestal I go. He's never felt this way before and he's losing his goddamn mind over it. The rumors are true, then, he realizes, that the most horrible and dastardly of people can somehow still have a special soft spot in their hearts when they see the fabled Star Girl™ falling from the heavens and into their palms.

And yeah that's what's the funniest part to me, what you mentioned -- why is he being recommended to me every few months??? For the last... what. three years now maybe?? THIS GUY IS SHOWING UP IN MY DREAMS NOW BECAUSE I KEEP READING HIS NAME IN MY INBOX LOL. I had a dream weeks ago that he sat in the audience while watching me perform in a musical and he had a bouquet of blue roses for me and he was the first person to stand up and applaud wildly when my performance ended. Then I had a separate dream last week that he was kissing me and begging me to pleasepleaseplease look at him just look at him just once please Keri please he's crying please Keri please. THIS MAN IS INVADING MY SUBCONSCIOUS!!!!! HELLO 911 THIS MAN I'VE NEVER MET KEEPS BREAKING INTO MY DREAMS WHEN KEN CARSON SHOULD BE IN THEM INSTEAD--

Anyway I HEAR he sobs his eyes out and that's incredibly attractive to me which is the only reason why I'm considering watching the movie in the first place. If this fictional man did not sob pathetically, then I would not be bothering lmao

I really like your idea of him being "fixed" by me, improving himself to be worthy of my love. Crying at my feet. So shit like this, shows me how inept people that vote blue are. You all think, "Well this thing is called "x" so it must be so". It's literally this meme in a nutshell:

Then there was the, "Inflation Reduction Act" which itself did almost nothing to reduce inflation and the only projected loss of inflation would be by a % and only by 2027. Trump was a New York Democrat. And he explained why he didn't run as one several times. And the reasoning was because the Dems would not have let him win. The same way they didn't let Bernie win. And policy wise, Trump and Bernie were not super far off. It's why when Bernie got gutted during the primaries, a lot of Bernie voters went Trump.

And just because Trump doesn't align with the new socialists doesn't mean he's not still a Dem at heart. Just means the modern Dem party keeps moving further and further left. Which if you want tyranny then keep voting for them. You'll get it soon enough. Oh and the prospect that I am "Only critical of Dems" and I "Promote Reps" is fucking stupid. I'm far less critical of Reps because I KNOW they are mostly stupid. But I will let the right criticize their own, and when Reps do something I'm very much slighted by I talk about it. Like when I complain about Abbott. And the only Reps that I promote are more libertarian party members while only being republican in name. And that's both Rand Paul and Ron Paul. Also Tulsi is a Dem I like. But I guess she's not Commie enough for your tastes. Because she's anti war and the modern dem party is extremely pro war.

Fact is. I only like Trump in so far as he protected our borders, pushed the Abraham Accords, and did his best with LYING generals at his side to pull us out of wars and bring our troops home. Of which I am ALL for because I'm a prior. Get my brothers and sisters out of these pointless wars. And out of these dangerous war torn countries that never stop fighting. Trump is a crass man who's self important to a fault. I'd never deny that. He has done some not great things in his past. But did he fly to Epstein's island dozens of times? Not according to flight logs. Bill Clinton on the other hand took several trips to said island. Bill Gates took several trips to his properties and I believe the island once or twice.

If you are going to come at me saying, "TRUMP'S RUNNING AS A REPUBLICAN SO HE"S NEVER BEEN A DEMOCRAT!", Well sorry just proves you can't parse words. Just because you don't see him as one doesn't mean he isn't one. He's not currently threatening to ban abortion. Most Reps would be. He's not threatening to ban Gay Marriage. Some Reps would be. Hence you miss the point. IE: You miss the forest for the trees. Reps are voting for Trump because the economy was good under him and he didn't want communism or socialism. And if you believe that there was no election meddling going on, you clearly didn't read Time Magazines, "The shadow campaign to save the election". In which they outline a number of things they did behind the scenes to make sure Trump could not win.

Many of which would be LEGALLY considered election meddling. Like IDK. Hiding the Biden laptop under "Misinformation". Which is funny because most modern "Misinformation" as reported by Dems and Mainstream Media just means, "4-6 months until proven true". Like the machines that DID flip votes. But the "Fact check" websites will tell you, "Well yes it did happen but we caught it and fixed it". Ok.......so it happened, meaning it could have happened to other machines, and no investigation was allowed to happen on those machines beyond, "Here you can look at it physically sitting on a pallet in shrink wrap and that's it". Yeah that's "Investigating" surely.

Yeah, if that had happened to Dems you'd still be shrieking to this day about a stolen election. But because you won, any and all funny business is reasonable and fine and shouldn't be investigated. Which tells me you don't care about fair elections you care about power. Because if you did care about fair elections, you'd have voted against policy changes that were against constitutional law. But unlike me (not a rep) you don't have morals. So long as you win and wield power like a weapon you don't care how you get there. And if that's the Democrat party I want nothing to do with it ever. Real things happened in 2020 that never got investigated. You don't give a fuck. Trumps voted blue most of his life. But in no true scotsman fashion, he's "Not a Democrat because he's not aligned with my idea of modern Dems". Spare me.

All communists should be purged. You aren't people so much as I'm concerned. You're a cancer on this earth. And modern Dems are basically Communists. Certainly not all. But far too many.

Oh and "Our enemies are trying to get Reps elected. Oh so Reps like Bernie Sander and Jill Stein?

And this is only one report. Several others actually claim that Hillary was in fact aided by Russia herself. Sadly the MSM doesn't care about it and buries it because it's damaging to their narrative of "Trump is Super Hitler". Get over yourselves. Your party is currently flooding the US with illegals and putting US citizens on the back burner.

Okay🫡 here are my thoughts on the first chapter 🧍🏼‍♀️

Magnus/Will/James interactions are HILARIOUS it's seriously the best part. I love this "two friends vibing while the third one's trying to find the most convenient window to jump out of" energy. Will having fun and asking James "r u still depressed kid?" every few hours is MY family dynamic, I relate so much it's scary.

I just don't understand why Will and Magnus don't try to push him harder? He's on the verge of telling everything and if he doesn't do it in the next chapter I'll blow up this book and then myself🧍🏼‍♀️

Matthew/Cordelia dynamic is... Strange 👀

So on one hand it's pretty satisfying to watch Cordelia living her vogue model life and her and Matthew eating in most fancy places and just enjoying their lives✨💃🏽 Great to know at least someone is having fun in this book😮‍💨 + now I must have an art with Cordelia in all those dresses, I'd look at them like Matthew did 👁️👄👁️💭❤️‍🔥

But on the other hand, Cassie is making Cordelia blind for the plot sake and it makes Daisy look stupid and selfish which is not her fault at this point, it's for the "OMG HE'S STILL DRINKING?!?🤯 I didn't see him drinking when he was around me which equals he stopped😦he promised to stop why it didn't work 😱🙎🏼‍♀️" twist.

And it's so weird, you can't ask an alcoholic to stop drinking and expecting it's gonna work. It's like that meme "if you're homeless just....buy a house?🙄" Cassie pls stop with that, LET ME ENJOY MY FUCKING FOOD

And I don't understand... She didn't tell Alastair anything? But she admits that now he's in real danger because of Cortana, Lilith and Belial..... Any of these options sucks because Ariadne will have to lose one of her parents AGAIN. And she has no one to support her, no one she trusts completely. ✋BUT I'm glad Cassie's also focusing on "Ariadne's main goal is to have friends" instead of just adding more drama to her relationship with Anna. I genuinely believe that Ariadne's arc is gonna be one of the best.

5. What’s the best thing about the fandom?

Uhhhh... hard one to answer 'cos I don't really engage in the fandom often lol. I think on my main blog, I follow only one (1) other Tekken blog. I guess I really like the fan content - especially the cosmetic mods for Tek8, and the fanart. Good stuff! Though, I guess I will say that the fandom peeps that follow me are also very awesome. I used to argue with a lotta ppl on the sub reddit, but the ppl here are understanding and epic. The Jin Support Club ✊

6. What’s the worst thing about the fandom?

A lot lol. I guess the worst thing is just ... the way a lotta fans criticize Jin. I swear, a lotta my arguments on Reddit was just concerning Jin's character because people either don't understand him (SO MANY were saying he "cared for nobody" prior Tek8's release) or they just bring up Tekken 6. What is so frustrating about the latter is that say, let's look at another fandom - as bad as ppl wanna say the Star Wars fandom is, they understand when a character's actions are uncharacteristic and when to reject this. Like almost the ENTIRE FANDOM can agree that Luke was written terribly out of character in The Last Jedi, and they can agree that the dude trying to redeem his father wouldn't try to kill his nephew because of "bad dreams". Hardly anybody argues about that or tries to insist on Luke being a Bad Jedi because of his actions in Last Jedi. In fact, most people still fondly look at Luke because they think of the first three movies he was in. YET, with the Tekken fandom... the fandom is just INCAPABLE of doing this and it's really weird. It's almost as if they see these characters as real lol. Like whereas the majority of Star Wars fans won't bring up Last Jedi when discussing Luke's character, the majority of the Tekken fandom WILL bring up Tekken 6 when discussing Jin's. Like you can't even fondly talk about Jin without sb saying "BUT THE WAR! ☝️🤓" Like even when you DO point out it's bad writing, they'll say "well he still did it! we can't ignore it! 😊" Maybe not entirely but... you can still acknowledge the writing goes against Jin's character, and it's something his character wouldn't have done if he remained in character with competent writers / no director meddling.

7. What’s the best thing about the canon you are writing?

Hmm... is this pertaining to Jin only, or the lore as a whole? Idk really how to answer this because I've already discussed how much I love Jin and why I love him. I'd say I found the devil gene concept extremely interesting, more interesting than the other "evil" curses fighting games do. Buuuut... the devil genes been totally whacked up by retcons, I'm not sure if I can say that either. The prob is, Tekken canon is so frickin LOOSE, it's hard to even pick a favorite thing about it haha. Like I say somethin and it's like "ooh... that's no longer canon..." Even when I talk about Jin's portrayal, it's like "ooh... yeah... but that was ruined momentarily..." Other than what I said when talking about why I started writing Jin, I dunno how to answer this one!! Maybe I'll go back to this when I come up with somethin'... I feel kinda awkward now. xD But LIKE, I love the Tekken story. But I already stated how I like the cast, why I love Jin, the game's fun. And... yeah!

8. What’s the worst thing about the canon you are writing?

The inconsistencies. Like I understand some retcons, especially if they're really needed. But like... Tekken does retcons EVERY game it seems, and then they're just... stuff that didn't need to be retconned in the first place. I've already went into great detail about how sloppy and confusing the devil gene lore is. But like here's another example - this is a minor and UNNECESSARY retcon. It was Lee who fixed up Alisa and gave her her freedom or whatever. But in her TK8 bio, it says it was Dr. B / her father...? What? Like I get that they maybe wanted Alisa to bond more with her father / creator. But like... couldn't they do that in another way? People say this is minor, but the problem is when the game is filled with many retcons - then when ppl are trying to learn about the lore, ppl are gonna get several different answers. "Lee fixed Alisa" "No it was Dr. B." See? That's just frustrating. Same with how the Tek Wiki still calls Devil Kazuya Devil Jin's "other half", even though I strongly feel that's been retconned long ago. The lore is confusing as hell with all these constant changes.

Pikmin 1 No Death Run complete!

All parts were collected, with 123 red pikmin, 79 yellow pikmin, and 70 blue pikmin being my final pikmin count for a total of 272!

I started my journey on the release date of the physical release, aka the 22nd so I managed to beat it in four days! It's been a long time since I last played the og, unfortunately I couldn't get my score due to missing wii nunchucks but I do know I couldn't do it deathless since the infamous deletius pikmin bridge bug! Thankfully they fixed it in this version, so happy! Still played it super careful around the bridges haha.

For the most part, the entire run was super smooth sailing! I only ever had issues with Wollyhops being very inconsistent or pikmin staring at me as they get crushed instead of heeding to my whistle. Sheargrubs also surprised and got me like twice, taught me the value of scouting ahead and beating the everloving daylights out of them with my fists! Except the flying ones those were tricky, I'd have pikmin on standby to shoot them down when they started flying.

I did accidentally summon the Smoky Progg during my second day of Distant Spring, I was so mad.

The only real huge reset point I had was the stupid fricken Burrowing Snagrets in Forest of Hope >:0 The only real way to actually fight them without casualties is getting lucky with rng and Hoping they get stuck in the ground coming up like twice in a row, and that's also praying the other Snagrets don't make an appearance, because they sure love to cameo! I spent like, a whole day on that debacle, frankensteined this piece together because I was so mad.

Soon after making this meme I did eventually get my perfect rng and was able to finish out the Forest of Hope finally, complaining always works! Anyways, wrapping up I genuinely enjoyed this challenge! It was a fun little challenge to dedicate a few days to, and I think honestly with the bridge kill glitch fixed this game is genuinely super fun. It's definitely a lot more unforgiving and challenging without the auto-aim pikmin 3 and pikmin 4 has sorta conditioned me to work with(seeing as there will be no more aim controls in the forseeable future, wii and wii u you will be missed), but it's also super rewarding when you do get those instant kills on sheargrubs and dwarf bulborbs! If you're bored, want a fun challenge, and really enjoy pikmin do give this challenge a go!

Give me something active to work with, there are only so many times I can come up with everything on my own. Don't just make your character react, make them act! (Or add Environmental and Atmospheric cues that my Character can react to)

⋆ EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS?: I lost count. I've been rping since I was 11 and I am now over 30.

⋆ FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: I am an Angst whore! But I want Fluff in between to make the Angst hit harder and to actually build character relationships. Depends on the muse, however. I also love Whump. I don't care much about smut, and I suck at writing it. But if it fits into the story I will write it.

⋆ PLOTS OR MEMES?: Both! Sometimes Memes can be really good Ice breakers. And plot can come second to see where it should go! Or sometimes you want / need to plot first because else interaction might be difficult. I guess the mix does it.

⋆ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: Length is not as important as content. You can give me 3 pages of just describing one single object and it will do less than 2 paragraphs of describing what your character does, says, feels, and what the mood of the room is, and then I can actually work with it! My own replies vary as well. I suffer from always feeling like I need to match my partner or feeling that I write too little, though, for myself.

⋆ TIME TO WRITE?: The night, after midnight. Sadly I can't always do it because of work.

⋆ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: So in all honesty, yes and no. For both of them. Curumë specifically actually incorporates a lot of my personality traits and traumas. He (originally) was based on my Tav in BG3. BG3 was my coping game while dealing with the aftermath of an extremely toxic relationship and breakup. BG3 turned out to be about the abuse cycle in its essence and thus made me obsessed. And I put a lot of needs and wants and wishes of what I should have done into Curumë. The theme of Freedom and the fight against being controlled is a huge part that both haunt/ed me (and him). It also made me vibe hardcore with Astarion, but I shy away from writing him because it feels like a competition. And also Curumë is more personal, more catered to what I personally experienced.

I write him like an Asshole because that is the part that is the opposite of me. But it is - sometimes - what I wish I had done, instead of people pleasing and being a "I can Fix him" person. Anyway, this got a bit personal I am sorry.

As for Raistlin sadly he is also a lot like me. But also not. I actually want to rp and write for him because he is so relatable. I started out reading the books dealing with his character development specifically and it was scary how someone could put some of my own experiences as a (constantly rejected) disabled person with a nondisabled sibling into one character so well. I'd say Raistlin is someone I could have become if I hadn't gone to therapy and decided to deal with my inner demons. The biggest difference between him and me though is the hunger for power, because I don't have that. I do have a need for adoration though, ngl.

thoughts on harrow the ninth chapter fifty-two

you know, i wonder where it is that this series goes next. i wondered that as well after gideon. i have no doubts that whatever conflict is cooked up for the next two books will feel fitting. this series does a good job of holding back on the real details of what's fully going on, in a way where like... i'm sure it will be more interesting and complex than "we fight for/against Blood of Eden" in the next book.

but from a character perspective, i feel like harrow and gideon's journey still is not complete, so i'm not sure what i think about further books being narrated from the perspectives of new characters. i don't even know who nona is! though i've heard vague things that give me the impression i should be excited. i hope it still finds ways to explore what it needs to about these characters.

anyway, there go the planets.

they still have to deal with the resurrection beasts.

oh, he's back. that's convenient. i think this will stick. after all, if the whole book keeps telling us the emperor's gonna be killed, then it's not much of a twist for it to happen — but it's a solid twist for him to come back from it. frankly, i think there's a lot more potential in keeping his character around than in mercy or augustine.

if god did act like he could be killed by the resbeasts, then, well, why? that's why we need to keep him around. there's just so much more history to what he thinks and why he's done things that i want answers to. we already got the answers with mercymorn.

i do really want more gideon and god interactions. it can work if he still dies by the end of the book, ofc. you never know what someone's gonna pull. because then it works to give gideon that feeling of what could have been; we wanted more that we couldn't get. that said, if i had to choose, i'd choose a story route that gives them more interactions.

♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP

This is EXTREMELY HARD TO ANSWER because I have many WIPs but most of them are absolutely in the beginning stages, and the one that is not is kind of a huge spoiler as to how the rest of the story will go. Literally "I was going to end it this way but now I'm going to end it this way just so I finish writing it before the year 2056." (Lookin' at you, Snowblind.) And by and large, I do not have a lot of ideas I end up scrapping for my WIPs! It's just not how I roll.

So instead, I will mention the bits for NRFTW that ended up on the cutting room floor. There were a lot of ways that the end could go re: Leo being as hurt as he was and not having access to medical care, all of them being pretty urgent. They all revolved around Draxum making a sacrifice to ensure he survived; as simple a one as Draxum offering himself up to Bishop in exchange for full hospital treatment and then freedom for Leo and his fam, which got scrapped because Bishop was going to offer that anyway. He's an asshole, but he does have some morals and a sense of some kind of "shit I owe you", so there you go. But the other idea was tapping into the earlier scene with Draxum and Mikey where Draxum told Mikey outright, "Healing has far too high a price," because to my worldbuilding healing magic couldn't spontaneously heal someone without extracting an equal price of lifeforce. When someone's on death's door you can't exactly extract more from them to fix their injuries, so the healer would have to pay up.

In short, to stop Leo from expiring in the warehouse, Draxum was gonna very much make that sacrifice - the goat's hundreds of years old, what's a year or two - and then basically go "if you tell him I will never forgive you B|", which sets up for him finding out in the sequel. (Yeah, he's gonna find out.)

Anyway, that also got scrapped for a couple reasons. Mainly, the warehouse scene was high stakes and tension enough as it was, and with lung injuries either Leo would last minutes or he would last hours, and well. I wanted him to last more than minutes. :/ I'm not that mean. So then I was like "hmm okay, well, I can still do that after the warehouse."

And I could. But. Pacing. We were winding down. The climax had come and gone. I just didn't have it in me to go "oh yeah and another thing" because it would be ridiculous at that point, and thus Leo just woke up an amount of time later after some touch and go health issues, and it gave me a window to quietly play with later.

BUT. ALSO.

My beta @shadowbends was very disappointed I didn't get to go through with it because she loved the idea (and so did I, I just didn't have space for it) and thus she wrote Don't Pay My Ransom, which is a fic that takes place during that recovery time, and thus I got to have my cake and eat it too. (And be thrilled reading Pi's writing all over again because she'd been gone from writing so long :c )

In short, I have very little that ends up on the cutting room floor! Often because any outlines I write are broad strokes; NRFTW's outline was more defined than any I've done because I'd been out of writing for so long and wasn't sure if I could do it without a solid direction to go, so it's more an exception in this case. <3

Been feeling a lot of pain that's hard to describe to the people in my life, because of how it sounds to our amatonormative society. I'm still not sure where I fall exactly, whether I'm actually capable of feeling romantic feelings or not. I know I'd be happy in a close partnership with someone for the rest of my life, but I don't feel a desire for romance. My strong platonic and familial affection for the people in my life is discounted, it feels like.

My best friend got married this fall and a combination of misunderstandings, miscommunications, and insecurity meant his then-fiancee insisted I couldn't stand by him while they got married. And he just... Did it. Like hey, person I call a sister, everyone I know and love is gonna watch me pledge my life to someone and you're gonna be in the audience as a normal guest, like a casual friend. Like... I'm starting a new family, and you're not even part of the picture, literally.

And I dunno, this came after some hours of discussion and shed tears by everyone, my friend apologized for his part, I did for not being more social, but at the same time. I was fucking exhausted this year. I've been drained since early July and it's only after a full week and a half of time off after my contract term ended, aka a week and a half of uninterrupted time where I could eat, sleep, and rest freely, that I started feeling halfway human again. (Aka waking up after 9 hours of sleeping and feeling functional)

This year has been shit! I was clear about that. My mom was literally hospitalized for a week and had to change her entire diet afterwards. Then they lost their rental because the people who own it have a kid going to college, and that takes precedence over the family living there because that's how our fucked-up housing system is!

I just... Tired. Sad. Wounded in a way that has already started to scar. I don't want to lose my found brother, but part of me wonders if I've lost that choice entirely. He has texted memes and stuff to me since then, and I've responded, but... There's a big, unresolved well of hurt between us, but I'm blind to what's going on on his side.

It really hurt to have one of the people I care most about in the world blame me for not getting over my social anxiety if I cared about him. Like man, that's not how that works. If love of those I care about could fix me, or even allow me to 'get over' minor inconveniences, it would have a long time ago. Sorry: improvement is a long road I have to trod and I'm impeded by having to do other shit in life. I just spent months spending 8+ hours a day 5+ days a week in offices filled with people who think not having lunch outside is asocial. My sympathy towards your shitty living situation over the last year is not degraded by my suffering, why is yours of my own?

I just... Can't imagine doing the same in their place.

❤️Favorite character

This won't come as a surprise to many of any of you but, yeah, it's rimmer. I want to put him in situations, I want to take him out of situations, there's the full duality there. I relate to him a lot (which probably isn't a good sign lol) and I strongly believe you cannot have red dwarf without him (i mean, look at the ratings for season 7 even with the girlboss that is kochanski). His character itself has such good potential, the angst that comes with being a hologram, the touch-starved-ness (?), his entire childhood, his need for academic validation even 3 million years into the future when all who would care anyway are dead, I could go on forever.

👿Least favorite character

Don't do this to me man 😭 I don't even know if I have one?? At least not out of the main crew. There's no character that actually makes me vibrate with rage in a bad way... If I did really have a think it would probably be a one-off character that was only in one episode and never mentioned again. Oh! I've just remembered, some fanon interpretations of Toddhunter honestly made my skin crawl with how horrible he is, but obviously that's just fanon, and some fanon interpretations have him as honestly a really good meaning guy- looking at you, Work Thing ;)

💐Comfort character

If you can't guess at this point I honestly don't know what to say. It's rimmer, look I know I know, the comfort character who has had no comfort in his entire life/death but *slaps roof of car* this baby can fit so much projection! He's so varied, he's gay to me, he's bi to me, he's autistic to me, he has ptsd to me, he's yearning, he's in denial, he's just- HE *I am dragged away by a lone hand through the doorframe before I can continue*

Are you sensing a theme yet 😐 I'd say I don't wish to be perceived for this but let's be honest, my tags reveal all, and the majority of the fandom agrees. It's Rimmer. Again. Slightly outing myself as an x reader enjoyer here. *shaking him* I could fix him I really believe I could. WHY IS IT ALWAYS RIMMER ON THIS ASK GAME PLEASE HELP😭😭😭 Hes a stickler for the rules (as long as they benefit him), he's probably autistic, he loves hammond organ music (very disappointed that he hates my main man Glenn Miller though 😔), he was an outcast for most of his childhood, he was bullied, he spirals at the slightest bad thing. I'm starting to really sense this isnt a good thing 😭 (I swear I'm doing okay I've got a good support system please don't worry)

🔥Character you think is overrated

I don't know?? 😭😭 I think all of red dwarf's characters really add to the material as a whole, and hey, it's not like this fandom is really big enough for overrating anything. I might say Duane Dibley, because yeah he's funny, Danny really performs well as that character but I don't really understand as to why he was so much of a fan favourite that they brought him back (for season 6 I think it was?) So if I had to say one character it would be Duane.

🧨Character you love to hate

*smacking my face against the doorframe* its rimmer again 😭😭😭 he's such a prick, especially in the early seasons man, I simultaneously want to look after him and throw him against a wall. I contain multitudes, it's okay

🙈Character you always forget exists

I guess I'd have to say Holly? He's got brilliant comedic timing and delivery (as Lovett and Hayridge) but the fact she was cut out in the later seasons and then brought back in season 8 and then gone again in the more recent ones just feels disjointed so she's easily forgotten sadly. (Yes I use she/he pronouns for Holly, she's genderfluid to me <3)

🐰Favorite non-human character

I'm gonna be honest, it would really have to be Holly. (I'm discounting Hologram Rimmer because he still sees himself as human in some way and he's had far too much screentime in this post). The comedic timing, the deadpan delivery, that amazing scene where she counts by smacking her head against the screen always makes me howl.

❤️‍🩹Character who deserved better

All of them. All of them. Rimmer, for reasons we've already gone into. Lister, the survivors guilt, he was SA'd at 12?!!, his entire relationship with Kochanski, his alcoholism, crushing loneliness, I could go on. The Cat, his entire species left him and his family because they were old and/or disabled, again loneliness. Kryten, literally in denial about his crew being dead, left alone for over 3 million years and still somehow hanging onto his sanity through episodes of androids, the need to do anything, literally anything to make sure he doesn't think to hard about anything other than laundry, honestly people need to talk about him more. Kochanski, losing her dave, stuck with this dave who looks exactly like hers but is so different, watching him destroy himself, having nothing in common with any of the crew, LONELINESS MAN.
