Languages are fake and every word in any language is gibberish and nothing makes sense and if you listen really hard even your native language doesn’t sound like a real thing and why try to understand why a word can word when instead you can say things and make things happen and it’s kinda magical to be honest like we make languages and teach these made-up sounds to babies and then they get older knowing so many things and it’s so freaking insane how many languages exist like how did we figure that out???? That’s so many noises like how did humanity figure out how to make that many different unique noises BUT THEN the feeling when you’re learning a language and you notice a word that sounds really similar to a word you know from a different language and BAM you’ve connected the dots and it’s so coooool

So, eddie and steve are in high school at the same time and steve is still in his douchey period where he just straight up bullies people. like an asshole. and one day he comes up behind eddie and pulls the hanky outta his pocket, saying something like “why do you wear this stupid thing out? don’t you know anyone can grab it?” and eddie is pissed off, trying to get it back cuz it means something that steve doesn’t even know exists, but before he can steve stuffs it into his back pocket and walks away, leaving eddie with the image of his hanky hanging out of steve’s ass pocket saying something really interesting. he was annoyed, but now he’s struggling not to break down at the mental image of steve harrington getting propositioned by gay guys because his ass is saying he likes to get smacked around. so he doesn’t stop him from walking away. let the guy project what his biggest kinks are from his ass pocket, it stopped being eddie’s problem! and if he thinks about it for the rest of the day, about the fact steve harrington stole his handkerchief (definitely definitely not about his ass), that’s no one’s problem
