i was organizing some files and found all the wip stuff from the previous secret samol for @/seamonsterart (go check out their work!), and these are two of my favorite illustrations ever, so here's some insight into how i made these!

for starters i already had a pretty much finished design for pickman that i had first drawn back in 2021

she has a completely wrong gun in this version because i did not remember how it was supposed to look like and couldn't find a description of it anywhere. she's wearing a hat because i forgot it was supposed to be a helm and so i ended up giving her the large hat just because the long horns coming through it are a fun image, though today i cannot imagine her wearing anything else. she already has the sword she takes from the lake skeletons, also. her armor is based on the armor the torumekian soldiers and kushana wear in nausicaa of the valley of the wind, with the incredible neck guard and long cape covering their entire body

i've always loved these designs and how the plates are evocative of insects, but also how mysterious they look with covered faces and bodies. matter of fact, at this point i had no fucking idea what pickman looked like below the cape.

the second inspiration is the young man from angel's egg.

OK, STAY WITH ME. i cannot explain this other that in my head pickman and him are VERY similar characters. the image of the half pulled cape while he holds his sword-cross-thing over his shoulder and the quiet demeanor are pretty fundamental to how i try to make pickman FEEL. i actually wanted her armor to have more piping, pulling from the biomechanical appearance of his sword-cross, but it didn't feel quite right

and the third inspiration is less inspiration and more reference work, the book "arms & armor, a pictorial archive" by carol grafton

it's a compilation of illustration works sourced from several books from the 19th century. VERY cool book to take a look at historical armor. it's on the internet archive for free!

there was also a fair ammount of looking at goats and sheep, but eventually i reached this after learning i suck at drawing furry designs. big shoutout to the furry community for making so many tutorials available btw. in highlight a very important study of the character.

now that i kinda knew what pickman looked like i entered the wonderful phase of "i don't know what the fuck i'm doing" which resulted in a bunch of bad doodles now sitting in a folder dubbed "dev hell". at this point i kinda had an idea for a relaxed scene based on one of the prompts, which i developed for a while on blender but eventually gave up on.

i then moved on to the second prompt, of pickman being badass. i decided on a low angle to make pickman look incredibly tall but the low angle of a goat's head legitimately kicked my ass so i eventually made a goat head on blender and used it to generate references with the help of designdoll. here i made her design a lot more muscular and fat, also, eventually coming to her final design.

the valve on her chestplate looks WRONG to me now, but at the time i was so tired i just rolled with it. the first pass of her armor was in a completely wrong color, which i corrected later on photoshop. i added the little metal forks pulling from her 2021 design, and the idea of little musical forks for atunning to the shape was cool to me. i also corrected her gun after actually learning what the fuck it was supposed to look like. i already knew i wanted her to be standing on the field of canola flowers, and the sky in the background was the last thing i added, also the time when i decided to really make the picture tall.

i liked the final result so much i went back and started working on the first prompt again. had a horrible time drawing the horns in the second image which led to this hell cage for building the perspective. im still not confident on the horns on the side of the head. i wanted to bring the atmosphere of a cold winter or fall morning in the second one, and to make pickman seem tired but relaxed. i overall like the second picture a lot more than the first and was very happy with how it came out.

I don't know for sure whether cf payments are delayed a few days or until next month. But like I said before, I don't want to mess with anything until I get it in case I fuck it up and they steal my money or some shit. It is money I already earned so I sure as hell aint gonna let them just keep it along with the initial ad revenue they got. But any new cc uploads are gonna be on patreon for the time being. If anyone knows any better alternatives to cf, please let me know of that too. I'm not sure what to think of the different info I have been seeing about cf, some say they aren't funding the IDF and it has nothing to do with that, some say they're lying about it and they really are funding IDF, I have no idea what the truth is now. So I think in the absence of my own knowledge it'll be best not to use their site at all to be safe. If anyone has any new infos as the days go on please share.

On that note, my efforts are gonna be more on patreon due to the financial situation i mentioned earlier. My cc will be always free still, of course, but im gonna be doing wip pics and polls and such for the people that wanna pledge to me. I'm also considering doing commissions for cc that would be published publicly for everyone after I create it. But I have to look into how I would do that exactly first. what the hell is pizza tower: boulder bash

hey paisanos! im cheeto_thunderstorm and im a big pt fan to the point that im working on a fullscale replacement mod with me and my friends ocs :)) the basic premise of the mod is like if pizza tower was instead based on early 2000s webseries with a ton of weird inside jokes that make literally no sense unless youre friends with the creator personally. the mod stars this little dude named chester, a creature called an enat that loves eating rocks and destroying things. heres him throwing his guts up.

currently the mod is up on gb as a simple skin mod, and im working on a final update to this skin mod era thats focused on doing transformations and collectibles, but i promise the mod will get more interesting when im all done with that. the people with characters in the mod are thankfully a really talented programmer, musician, and level designer, so thats convenient and also really cool

so the idea was that it’s a college au! the reader is taking a journalism course, and for their final assignment, they have to do an op-ed on another student. so there’s the internal panic of what the hell do i write about…and robin playfully suggests “hey! you know who’d be perfect!” and he would because he’d gotten so many scholarship offers, he’s arguably the best player in all of indiana, and there’s already history there! nothing can go wrong…right 👀 and reader is all out of options so he’s really the best bet

think disney’s “geek charming” but with a little more romantic tension. im thinking he’s super closed off after the breakup and he’s kind of coming off as an arrogant asshole at first. and then they get to know each other again and it’s all just beautiful second chance romance 🤭

Hey have y’all ever heard of this silly little story called rawnsyf 😭 no for real though, chapter 8 is in progress, it is more of a character study type chapter that just takes place in one conversation in one place and it’s going to mark a permanent shift in their dynamic and relationship :) outside of that I have a fake dating wedding attendee au im working on from back when we did the fic exchange that im like 4k into but i think im gonna change the ship which changes the story 🤭 and then of course we have my flirty manipulative dame story where she flirts with people to get whatever she wants and then comes face to face with Marina who doesn’t fall for her tricks :)

What new information about the driver and his personal relationship will be revealed to the public? Y/n dials Charles’s number and waits for him to pick up, after a few rings she hears the phone connect and a shaky breath from the other end of the phone. “Charles what happened mi amor” said y/n in a soft and gentle tone. Charles sighed as she could hear him place the phone down on a surface as she heard a little clink once it hit the table. Through an almost muffled voice, head in hands as Charles responds “I messed it all up amore”, there was a brief pause as he took a deep breath in and picked up the phone again “Aides from my slip up that I DO NOT want to mention right now, the PR team told me that I needed to make a statement to get a hold of the situation, they said they didn’t want to force me to release everything but if it gets any worse then its either I spill everything or I give up my seat for the next few races since they don’t want me in the frontlines giving way for the company to get a bad reputation”. Y/n sighs and tries her best to offer support and console him by speaking gently once again “It’s okay mi amor, everyone makes mistakes sometimes I mean hell, look at lando… his parents made a mistake with him but he turned out okay” she said which prompted a weak laugh from Charles. “And besides, I support you and every decision you make. You have my full trust, I promise you I’m alright with going public if that means less stress and pressure on you.” She says before letting a comfortable silence fall between them for a moment. “I know and I love you for how supportive you are for me, unfortunately unlike lando’s parents mistake with their… mess of a kid, I am just worried that this wont turn out okay, I don’t want anyone trying to talk badly about you and get between us” Charles said trailing off softly. Y/n stifled a laugh when he slandered Lando with her before replying again “Charles, Mi Amor, My Everything… I promise you no matter what happens I will not allow it to get between our love and bond we share. We have been through so much and I don’t plan on ever stopping so you better put on your big boy pants, pull them up and realize that no matter what you do or what results from this, or any situation for that matter, we will always stay together as strong as ever.” Her words of encouragement causes Charles to smile and regain his confidence temporarily, as he stands up he quickly utters some words into the phone “I love you so much Y/n, thank you for always being here to pick me up when I’m down. I think I have a plan of how I want to handle this, I’ll text it to you later if I get the chance and if I cant tell you via text I’ll just tell you later tonight. Ti amo.” The call ends leaving a silence surrounding Y/n, she smiles to herself knowing that Charles will find a way to correct the situation that will make him feel more sane so he doesn’t start speaking in tounges again on the floor.

Februpony 2024 D22 - Crossover with Another Show

Twilight's meddling scientific brain was never content to just let her be, even with all her new princessy duties keeping her very occupied. So, whenver she managed to snag a little free time, the studious pony started looking into new areas of unexplored scientific ideas. 

She toyed with several different notions of study but eventually settled into inter-dimensional travel. It was relatively new to the pony mind, the idea of moving between other planes of existence, but Twilight threw herself into her investigation, spending days and nights testing and experimenting until she finally came up with a prototype. 

Her first few attempts to open dimensional doors were unsuccessful of course, but after much trial and error she finally managed to open a rift between existential planes into another inabitated world. 

Unfortunately there wasn't much chance for the princess to get to know the newly discovered world, being jumped by a strange creature that immediately sought to plough her senseless, rambling hotly about how it'd never seen a sexier horse in hell. 

The scientist was unimpressed by its presence, swiftly and easily dealing with its annoying attempts to fuck her. She pushed the imp whole down her maw and into her belly, deciding to at least make its last moments tolerable before it was consumed by hungry stomach and she labeled its world a hazard to ponykind.

u know, im pretty sure that if blitz ever got a look at any of the mlp characters his immediate reaction would be to simply fuck first and ask questions later

but twilight is a princess and a scientist so, can't let herself be ravaged by a perverted imp while she studies the cosmoses
