Hello hello! Anon here again for another round with baldi's program: Learners initiative! Here im gonna introduce another teacher, as well as two staff members!

And, an announcement! The learners initiative askblog is open, if you wish to ask anyone whether it be student or teacher, please leave it in my askbox!

now, onto the others

first off, a new teacher! King dice, the music teacher. After being thrown into this odd dimension without a way back, at first dice wasnt fond of anything that was going on. completely denied any position and in multiple times attempted to escape.. it didnt take long for him to realise though that the people in this new place were much stronger than initially thought, and that the dimension itself wasnt...safe. So the best thing to do was to play it safe, keep his cards close.. He decided to take the role of the music teacher, though secretly still trying to figure out a way out of wherever he is. He isnt too fond of children, but tolerates them at the least.. He does have a soft spot to those who genuinely want to learn, though.

Now, onto two staff members!

first, the lunch lady!!

PINKIE PIE! Alright, ive seen the tags asking for either chica to be the lunch lady, or the marionette being the music teacher, but the only reasons why i didnt do that because i stick with their lore and both are just robots possessed by children, we cant have children working as staff now can we? Pinkie is a master cook, despite always going for sweets she does understand the nutritional aspects of what kids really need. She's a really nice cook and she absolutely adores just having fun with the kids and the teachers! shes both the lunch lady and plans for any school party or event, dice is cautious of her. She just weirds him out..

now the last member for today, mike schmidt! No no, not michael- MIKE. as in EARLY FNAF FANDOM MIKE BABYY! Ive decided to add a fandom favorite, from the days where purple guy was vincent mc phoneguy and everyone drew chica and foxy love triangles. Hes the school security, and is pretty numbed to any weird things that happen in this dimension, after all he lived in a world with haunted animatronics and horrible paychecks, atleast the food here is actually good- The kids often come to him as well, since he doesnt freak out if anything they do sort of..well- goes out of the ordinary- he mostly looks after them, mostly to make sure they dont get themselves or the others hurt somehow.. He also keeps an eye out for the teachers, theyre creepy to him.

1. My best girl back in my ask box!! I am so ELATED that you're catching the details! I've been slowly making the transition on the way Obi-Wan smells since literally chapter ONE (OK chapter 3 actually but still)

2. He doesn't even know Anakin would still love him 🥺🥺. Hell, he doesn't even know Anakin loves him NOW. There's this bit in the next chapter, the following morning:

He studies Anakin carefully, taking in the soft expression on his face. With some surprise, Obi-Wan realises he’s seen it before, seen it directed at him. How long has his husband been looking at him like this? How had he not noticed?

He sees he's been blind about Anakin's feelings but continues to be blind about the EXTENT of Anakin's feelings.

Anakin realized he loves Obi-Wan (this chapter's "epiphany") and immediately was all in, 100%, this is his husband they're married and in love now. In his mind, it's clearly mutual.

But Obi-Wan has been in love with Anakin for a looong time now, and he thinks they're still taking baby steps in their relationship. They kissed, sure, but that doesn't mean Anakin is suddenly in love with him.

3. Anakin learning is soooo dear to me, because aaall the way back in chapter 3 he was like:

there is a part of Anakin that wants to be petty, to tease and bring the man to tears in a vindictive sort of punishment—an opportunity to take control back from his Emperor husband without any chance of it being perceived as a threat to their alliance. However experienced Obi-Wan is, he won’t stand a chance against Anakin.

But now he knows Obi-Wan has such a soft heart (the most innocent baby in this verse, you're right 🥺). He's treating Obi-Wan gently, he's not lashing out anymore. We see the growth SO MUCH in this chapter:

It's clear to Anakin that his alpha is still feeling a little unwell, looking pale and somewhat distracted. Anakin resolves to take it easy on him, today.

He slides one hand slowly up Obi-Wan’s back, the other reaching out to pull him down by the nape of his neck. He moves carefully, not wanting to spook Obi-Wan—but his husband comes eagerly, leaning down and pressing lips to lips.

As for Shmi... she'll change her opinion on him once the whole "who proposed to who" conflict is resolved

4. SAND SEAL SURFING. I'm planning to have them go sometime after the Celebration of Light but there will also be sooo many kissses between now and then <3

And don't even worry about the morning after, Anakin will be there! I already wrote the scene for the next morning. (Originally it was gonna be in ch13, but unfortunately it didn't work with the pacing)

There will still be some angst in the rest of the fic, but like...we've gotten passed the hard part. Once they return from their vacation, the larger plot will begin acting upon them again. They'll have all these problems thrown at them and they'll have to split up for a bit. But they'll still be TOGETHER 💕

Dude I am super excited to read about Eldritch Duke and Eldritch Bain’s backstory!!

im soo mad i had such a comprehensive answer to this post and tumblr ATE IT so now i gotta rewrite the whole thing from memory. hell on earth :[

alright i CANNOT take credit for eldritch bain thats @des-paa-cee-toeee BABYY!!! eldritch duke came about on a whim before i knew abt despaa’s take on eldritch bain but it was soooo fun learning abt this bain and throwing ideas at the wall (discord dms) to see what stuck (exploded in the microwave). i cant speak to bain's origins bc im still learning them myself but ive got some eldritch duke facts down. readmore placed below to contain the brainspill ^_^ (and it really is one hell of a brainspill like it got way longer than i intended so sorry in advance😭)

right so dukes a university student in the late 60s/early 70s(?)

hes taking part in an archaeology project with one of his classmates in a forest near his uni (studying bone fragments, arrowheads, just collecting random samples) and keeping audio logs of the whole project

his classmate strays too far and messes around in a bunch of forestbeings' turf

the beings retaliate by possessing/driving the classmate mad

classmate offs duke via rock crimes (fly high babe) and duke gets to spend some time getting acquainted with the spirits in the trees

one of the forestbeings decides that that was kinda fucked up in hindsight and takes pity on duke, searing life and consciousness back into his broken body and resurrecting him from the mud as a nothuman trapped in a mostly mortal vessel (you work with what ya got)

this process might take a while but idk if itll make up the 20 yr gap in his lifespan yet (give that hes 20ish in the 70s and shows up in pd2 in 2017 as a 50 yr old and not a 70 yr old)

i just think hes neat!

tbh idk how i actually feel abt writing this duke au given that i think im also writing some other stuff rn but i looove gnawing on it when im spaced out during class its like my screensaver. i actually started a little smthg as a sort of taste-test for this au where its a police report on the case of duke's initial disappearance in the 70s, documenting the weird facts from an in-universe after-the-fact pov (i am such a sucker for dramatic irony its not funny) and working through the story in the form of aforementioned audio logs. pasting the scraps below

Friends initially report 20-year-old August Lindenhurst missing on August 18th, 1968.

Over summer break, Lindenhurst had been taking part in a month-long personal project proposed by 19-year-old Gillian 'Gill' Dorsey, both students at Dennington University. Classmates became concerned when the project's allotted time period ended and Lindenhurst had still not returned to campus. He and Dorsey were last seen entering the forest behind the main building (see map in addendum 2A) with bags one month prior. Investigators organized search teams, which found their equipment still intact in a makeshift bell tent approximately 1.8 miles from campus, and CSI later noted that the project seemed largely archaeological in nature. Around the same time the tent was discovered, a welfare check conducted on Dorsey's dorm discovered her partially decomposed body still in bed (Dorsey case filed separately, though it shares many unusual circumstances with this one).

CSI recovered a collection of microtapes from the tent in the forest, dated throughout the month as audio logs leading up to Lindenhurst's disappearance. Detective Greene was able to transcribe a majority of the logs’ content despite questionable integrity following recent storms. Following analysis of the tapes, the Lindenhurst case was changed from missing persons to homicide. Transcripts deemed relevant to the case are attached below (transcripts for the rest of the tapes available in addendum 2F).

and then the transcript of the first tape starts! from there the rest of the story plays out over multiple tapes as duke n his classmate (using gill dorsey as a placeholder name for no reason in particular) pick through tiny buried oddities over the course of about a month. all the while we see signs that theres Something In These Woods thrown in (discussing strange dreams in passing, unidentified voices heard on tape, odd changes in behavior seen in casual conversation, etc) leading up to the discovery of The Final Tape later on in the case, recorded on the day the project was supposed to end

The original recorder was recovered in a clearing approx. 600 feet from the tent. Clear signs of a fight present in surroundings (see addendum 3A-3G). Blood at the scene matched with Lindenhurst. The recorder still contained the most recent (presumably final) microtape inside. Det. Greene reassigned for transcription.

and then we get into the nitty gritty of the day of the attack. the report basically concludes with “well that was fucked up” given that lindenhurst’s killer classmate is also dead under mysterious circumstances (found in bed with their mouth and lungs all full of dirt, more thoughts on that but this post is more than long enough rn) so theres kinda. no one to prosecute. the story itself ends with the whole case file being completely wiped by bain, revealing that we were just reading the report along with him the entire time as part of a background check on duke. hes troubled by the implications to say the least, like sorry man you found more than you bargained for in this funky crime grandpa!! the whole ‘coming back nothuman’ thing isnt super covered in this version of the story bc it is still just a police report and obvs cant have ALL the details but that does still happen

A/n: No, this isn’t the chapter you’re looking for but this was in my archive of notes for this series and I ended up cutting it, but it was too cute and pure not to share with you guys, so here’s a deleted scene from my Hufflepuff series!! New chapter to come soon! 

Until McGonagall was standing over Draco and I, my nerves had calmed down. Now, they were sky high.

“Professor?” I asked, taking Draco’s hand in mine under the table. He squeezed it reassuringly.

“Miss Y/n, I would like to speak with you in my office,” McGonagall looked over her spectacles at me.

“Uh, okay,” I stood slowly, eyeing Draco, who was glowering. “Love you,” I whispered softly to him before following the professor.

“You can stop your fretting dear,” McGonagall encouraged. “You’re not in trouble,”

McGonagall closed the office door behind us where a young Gryffindor student stood, looking quite terrified. Her bright golden eyes stood starkly against her deep chocolate skin. If I hadn’t seen her eyes, and it had been years ago, I might have mistaken her for Hermione.

“This is Cheyenne Clearwater,” McGonagall introduced. “She is descendant of Ieles.”

“The nymphs?” I gasped, a smile growing on my face. “That’s so cool!” 

Cheyenne blushed. 

“Quite so,” McGonagall pressed her lips into a thin line. “But it also means that she is deaf,” 

“What?” I backtracked.

“And until we can get a proper translation spell in order for her and her tastes, Professor Sprout proposed that you might be able to translate for her? She needs a translator in Herbology, and as a part of your N.E.W.T course, Sprout said that she would accept if you were a teacher’s assistant for the younger years, and thus being able to aid Miss Clearwater, here. Since you and Abby took up sign language last year for your... task.” Her blue eyes held an air of mischief.

“Oh, yeah, of course,” I smiled at Cheyenne and began to sign: My name is Y/n. It’s nice to meet you.

Cheyenne’s eyes widened in shock and awe as she quickly began to sign back: You can sign!? I didn’t think anyone here knew how to! Momma and Papa always used translating spells.

I learned last summer. I smiled signing, mouthing the words.

Cheyenne beamed up at me, and for a moment, all of the darkness that loomed over the school was absent in her smile and shining eyes. To my surprise, McGonagall began to sign at Cheyenne asking her to wait outside her office door while she spoke to me. When we were alone, my anxiety began to flutter again.

“It shouldn’t take more than a day or two,” McGonagall reassured. “And, of course, you’ll get House points and extra credit.”

“No, I don’t need that,” I refuted quickly.

Cheyenne was waiting for me out in the hall, still beaming. We chatted—signed—and I asked her about her first day so far. She was a bit wary of Professor Snape, and I informed her that it was a commonality amongst all students. She said she had made a few friends and that her sister was also here, helping her translate in her other classes. I led her back to study hall, where Draco’s stormy blue eyes flashed up and met the two of us.

Is that your boyfriend? Cheyenne asked, giggling. He’s very pretty.

Yes, he is, I chuckled to myself. That’s Draco. He’s a bit rough on the outside but deep down he’s sweet.

“Who’s this?” Draco asked. “What happened?” I could hear the anxiety in his voice.

“This is Cheyenne,” I signed as I spoke. “She’s a first year and she’s a nymph decensdant, so McGonagall asked me to translate for her until they could get the proper spell for her.”

I watched her hands.

“She says it’s nice to meet you,”

Draco looked baffled at the young girl beside me.

“It’s nice to meet you too,” He gave a tight smile, watching my hands as I signed to her. “We have homework, love,”

I told Cheyenne that I would see her in class tomorrow, and that Draco was correct, I did have homework to attend to. The first year nodded, still smiling as she bounced off down the halls towards what I assumed was the Gryffindor Common Room.

“Were we ever that lively?” I murmured, sitting back down next to him. “As first-years?”

#the minor nitpick i have with the show im watching rn is that the netflix translators are a bit too liberal with how they translate phrases #for my taste#like i heard 'france' but it was not in the subtitles #or they seem to expand sentences that i could hear were not that long

nvm this isnt as small a nitpick as i thought.

Started the next episode and here’s selected subtitles from the opening minutes:

Cynthia: Hopefully he’s picked up at least a little french by now

Laurent: I think that answers your question about his french

Except, that bolded part was really spoken & captioned as  “il n’a pas l’air d’avoir appris le francais”. Literally it would translate as “he doesn’t have the air of having learned french”.

if I was to translate it to fit the context, i would’ve gone with something more like “(certainly) doesn’t seem like it” where “it” could stay as it (given how close the lines are in time, or be “he’s learned any french”.

So my liberal-ish translation would be “Well, doesn’t seem like he’s learned any”

I get that translating is hard and there’s lots of factors involved and that the translation will change depending on what you’re optimizing for. but Netflix’s translation puts more emphasis on Laurent reacting to Cynthia rather than Laurent commenting on Makoto, which to me, is a significant change in the intent of the line and this is all discounting how many times the script has gone through translation (like jap -> french ->engl vs french -> engl or jap -> engl) and how that afffects accuracy

This bothers me and becomes more than a nitpick because it starts to affect characterization and the interpretation i, the native english speaker, comes away with of the characters. i definitely think translation is more on the side of being an art rather than a science, but it’s not the translator’s job to do any writing.

for me as the viewer, it casts doubts onto whether i can trust the subtitles to be accurate, in character and in tone. its frustrating because i like this show and im really hoping that what i think of the characters it is still true to the original/what the creators intended.

i know (in an academic sense) that the translation of anime and manga is never going to have exactly the same feeling or meaning as the original japanese, but i always start with a trust that what im reading is true to the original unless the translation/translator gives me reason to believe otherwise grices maxim of quality babyy. unfortunately netflix is giving me reason to believe otherwise

This is so fucking weird I can't believe it's happening? Like all through out freshmen to junior year, specifically sophomore, I genuinely did not think I'd make it this far. I dont even fucking remember sophomore year because I was in such a horrible mental state that it's completely wiped from my memory. I could not tell you a single event that took place, a teachers name, or anything from that year. Every night for 3 fucking years I would wish I could just wake up and be done. Either be done with highschool or just not wake up. It sounds really dramatic but the amount of stress I put myself through was /is?/ unbearable Like going into highschool from middle school I really wanted to go to medical school and get a good degree but now my stance on college has completely changed and I'd rather not go at all because I burnt myself out so hard. I don't think I'm mad at myself for it necessarily? Yeah Im a little disappointed that I pretty much ruined the fact that at some point, for most of my life, I enjoyed learning. But I guess it just happens. Even so I'm so fucking proud of myself for making it this far- sure I'm young but I was so, so ready to die just a year or two ago. I genuinely never thought I'd make it this far. and Here i am!!! I did it!! No matter what changed or how I feel about college and stuff, I still made it !!!! It's just such a surreal feeling. I know that I'm in a hell of a lot better place mentally now, I still have hard times but I know that if I can make it through what I did, I'm okay. Of course its scary to think about what comes next, what my life is gonna be, but for now- thats okay. I know now that I'm ready for whatever comes next.

Happy Valentines 💕first of all Ngayon palang nag sosorry nako kasi alam kong bonggang inis ang mararamdaman mo pero mahal ko alam kong mas mahaba pa dyan ang pasensya binibigay mo sa mga kakulitan ko.
